I went for 2 visits before leaving this comment. I went to visit on a recommendation that the fish and chips are good. However, the first visit I tried another dish. I found the food clean and for freshness it was a 10 out of 10. I had to return to see if the fish and chips is as they say and I found it quite delicious. I would recommend this eatery to anyone that is looking for a good place to go eat. I will return to try the all day breakfast soon and see how that is also but Im betting its pretty good as well. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible for wheelchair and also very senior friendly.

Was breakfast I ever there, sausage were dry,the orange juice water down power juice, 3.00 unreal, 20.00 just for my breakfast, 44.00 for 2 people.

We had a family meal May 18th after my fathers funeral, there was 30 of us! The food was amazing and the service was exceptional! They catered to all our needs! Thank you so much Pam and team doe making this so special for us!

Clam strips and French fries were the best I ve ever had. My husband loved the all day breakfast. Our waitress, Cindy, was just too lovely. This is going to become our go to place to eat. Great food and great people and we are very picky. The only improvement I would suggest is cocktail sauce for the fabulous seafood.

This restaurant was above and beyond the best place ever!!! Very cheap food!!! It was delicious!! And oh sooooo yummy!!! I got 2 piece fish and chips, and it came with yummy tartar sauce and lemons and delicious side of coleslaw! Yum yum!! The fries were perfectly cooked with that excellent golden colour and to be honest... I usually order gravy, but it never occurred to me!!! So thats saying a lot! For my 2 pieces and fries.... it cost less than $11!!!!! Thats amazing!!! Lol my son ordered one piece and fries and he ate all of his fries... mommy took his piece of fish home! Yummy treat for later! My son put lots of ketchup on the side and pepper for his tastes lol.... hes quite good at adding pepper to anything he eats lol (hes 4!! Lol) his only cost $6.29!!!! Thats amazing!!!!! We are used to paying Dartmouth prices and New Glasgow made it so much better!! Lol So yes.... I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant!!! They took great care of us and even brought my son a tablet to play games with before we ate!!! Ill definitely go back!! Kid-friendliness: The staff was amazing and very kid friendly!!!

Local breakfast style. Had all your basic breakfast items (eggs, bacon, toast, etc) as well as a good selection of lunch options. Went for morning breakfast on a Saturday and everyone was very friendly. Service was very fast too! They accepted cash/debit/credit. Update: still consistently offering great breakfast and awesome local service!

Get the fish & chips!! Eastside Family Restaurant was a wonderful find on our roadtrip from Halifax to Cape Breton. So glad a nice man in New Glasgow recommended Eastside to us.

Took husband out for bday breakfast. Service was slow but our waitress was really nice. The disappointment came in the food. So small. The home fries, if I have ten little pieces, so I asked the waitress if this was all I get? She brought back a tea saucer with maybe five more. My husband s breakfast was also a small portion as well. The server was genuinely kind however for the price and the food I doubt we will go back.

This is a homestyle eatery. Food is tasty and plentiful. The only problem would be the fact that its so cold. I imagine with the door opening and closing is their problem. Other than that, the meal was great!

Seafood was clearly frozen, and infact was still slightly frozen on the inside. Three tiny scallops and the batter on the fish wasnt cooked through! Would not return or recommend!

Its an old style diner. Prices are quite well for what you get. I think i just ordered the wrong thing. We are used to good fish from Murphys in Truro, this fish was thick and dry. Had a hard time chewing it. Both be and my gf said the same. The rest of the food that was coming and going looked good. And kids breakfast was great. Think we just got the wrong items. I would do back as the staff were great and lots of menu items to choose from. Parking: Parking is ok. Little small Kid-friendliness: Great with kids

Stopped in for cute little lunch which ended in an upset stomach. We were provided cutlery with food still on them. We mentioned something and they were promptly replaced. She then brought us our waters but my glass had something in it as well as lip prints from the previous drinker. I asked for a can instead as I figured I d be safe that way. Food was okay, exactly what you d expect for a small diner. Seated next to the front door which was kinda chilly given the season and quickly cooled the food we were eating. Likely won t be back.

Down Home Uncomplicated Breakfast. 1 server for the entire restaurant.... but she does such a good job. Seating-to-eating about 20 minutes. Fantastic authentic food at a more then reasonable price. I was only passing through but if I lived here I would be a regular.

On top of a great, tasty meal with quick service the owner was fantastic to deal with. Hubby left his favorite jacket in the restaurant and we didn t realize until we had driven a couple hours away. The owner was so kind as to mail the jacket to our home. Thanks so much!

We had the kettle of fish. Comes with fries and coleslaw. We got a side of beef gravy as well. It was all delicious! And we really liked the pizza box style packaging as well. From the call to order to the pick up, the staff was friendly and professional. Will definitely order this again! Also great value, more than enough to feed all of us! WTG Eastside!

Waitress didnt listen to order. Missed 3 things even though she had a tablet to put the order on.

Excellent place to have breakfast! I miss seeing little diners all over the place and glad this place is still running strong.

For a dinner with such great reviews, it certainly left much to the imagination. Service was mediocre with a less than lukewarm atmosphere. We had simple meals, hot hamburger and hot beef sandwiches, which tasted fine. The truly disappointing part was the powdered mashed potatoes. At least put the gravy on them to help disguise the taste. Certainly much room for improvement.

So a couple of my friends went there on a Saturday around brunch time. The back room wasnt even lote up yet. So we got seated . Waitress took our order. Took forever for our food to come out. Our toast was like bread warmed up, like gross. Never got asked if our food was good or if we needed anything else. We had to ask for our bill and then wait 10 minutes at the cash to get put bills paid for, and there was no lineup. I feel like they think they are a higher class than the people who come to eat there. Very poor service the last 3 times there. I will not be returning, thats for sure.

My new favorite restaurant for homemade meals ...breakfast here is so very good..They have an all day breakfast so if youre like me and enjoy breakfast any time of the day this is the place to go..the waitresses are sweet and pleasant.. the pancakes....well they are perfect...just YUM!!

First time dining here. Me and my friend decided to go since I had never been. The staff were awesome and friendly. Food was good. Portion sizes were great. The place was clean. Overall a really good experience for a family Diner. Will definitely be going again.

Our waitress forgot about us and someone else had to remind her we hadnt ordered yet, my hot corned beef sandwich came out stone cold and was mostly fat. The other person I was with ordered fries but was given mashed potatoes. We werent asked if we wanted separate bills and the toilet seat in the womens washroom was covered with urine and feces. Please dont subject yourself to this place.

Eastside Family restaurant is always a go to for our family! Great portions & prices. Meals are quick, and delicious. Staff is always pleasant! Even the kids love eating here! They recently renovated and added more dining area which is great news for this busy restaurant!!

Waitress not attentive...had to ask for sugar, milk after she brought coffee...had to ask for more coffee..food wait was very long, we ordered a club, no fries and a Donair. The Donair was one of those store bought kits you buy in the grocery store. The club sandwich was soggy with wilted lettuce. The place was busy and we cannot understand why. Extremely disappointed.

We walked into the restaurant and just moved into this town maybe a week ago. We were looking for a nice place to eat with a group of 13. We walked in and waited for the waitress to greet us and ask us how many we had. We quietly told her 13 as to not disturb anyone and she immediately cut us off saying NO . We said, oh alright . She said, did anyone call We said no, we were just hoping to come in and eat She said, well it just takes common sense Im sorry we inconvenienced you with our large group of people and that we wanted to eat at this establishment. Then she shooed us away. Sorry we do not have ENOUGH common sense to apparently make a call like it was common knowledge you had to do that. Again we are new to this town. We re not stupid. What a shame we cannot try this establishment due to this rude waitress. Kid-friendliness: We were carting around 8 kids and had to leave.

Have always had good service and food up until last Saturday my wife and I ordered breakfast mine wasnt supposed to have any bacon on it the waitress put her fingers in my plate of food and took the bacon out right in front of us ,they supposedly made me a new plate but I think they just put it in the microwave to warm it back up the eggs were hard cooked instead of medium and the toast was soggy .I cant believe what happened that morning we were both dumbfounded.
