Very tasty! Red curry, amazing!

I think I may have an addiction to this place. The food is so tasty. Small menu but just enough options to make the variety good. Food is good staff are friendly.

I have lived in Hong Kong and Thailand for over half of my life, so I am a sucker for Asian food. Its pretty hard to find good, authentic food overseas, but Mamatsu Fresh Asian Kitchen absolutely killed it! I would totally recommend it. Food came out so quickly and its a really easy place to find when youre in cozy New Glasglow.

SLOW WAIT, BELOW AVERAGE FOOD HORRIBLE SERVICE For the most time There is just the one cranky old lady who is always barking in Chinese, no sense of hospitality, no thank you for dining - extremely rude service to both sit in and take out customers. Food menu is small, doesnt seem like authentic known Chinese food but rather some personal recipes of the Cranky Lady in the kitchen. Hopefully they can do some food other than White rice, some sauteed vegetables and plain chicken. If not i dont see a long term future with this dump, if the complaints keep rising

Good food, friendly service and folks. Ambiance is a bit cool but food definitely makes up for it.

We ate here twice on our vacation as there were very few vegan options in the area. They did not disappoint us. They ran out of tofu the first time but loaded us up with fresh veggies in replacement. Everything was delicious and had fresh ingredients.

The place was popping. There was only one server and we didn t get drink refills, but overall the atmosphere was nice and the food was great.

Dan dan noodles. Dust Dumplings. Fire Food

Mamatsu is my favourite restaurant. Everything I have tried I absolutely LOVE. Thank you for the amazing food and every experience. I will keep coming back forever.

Fresh food, many options. Loved it

We arrived at 6:22 pm, they close at 7. Another couple already just got in, sitting and looking at menus. They tell us Theyre sold out of rice and the only thing they can do is Dan Dan noodles. Might as well tell us the kitchen is closed and/or were not welcomed... But...Why is the other couple looking at their menu if nothings but dan dan noodles is available?? Rating them 2 and a half, their food is pretty good. Had the cashew chicken and Dan Dan on another day. The chicken was fine but the dan dan were drowned in extremely salty soy sauce.

Unbelievably amazing food! I thought Id try takeout while passing through, green curry is perfectly spiced, but the Dandan noodles are amazing. Ive never tried them before but I will be going back when in the area for more!

Very little dine in attention; seat yourself, after ordering no follow up, no offers for drinks other than water, no plate clearing or bill brought to the table. Phone rings constantly for take out, which seems like their main focus. Took a long time for our food which was nothing special -if sub par-, raw vegetables, a scoop of rice. Small portion. One of my party ask for a togo container, was given a large and one of the cooks interjected and told the server to give a small container... Really had to save that .25c I guess. Thought this place was going to be a hit. Wouldnt go again,

Great food if you actually get what you order for takeout

Tasty food. Friendly service. Bright and clean restaurant. I wish that they were open later as I prefer a later dinner time but I get it, its a small town and everything closes early.

Would have rated it higher but recent menu change warrant a lower rating from me. The last 2 times ordering Dan-Dan I noticed they had removed the peanut butter and nuts from the ingredients and substituted some type of hot spices. This changes the whole character of the dish and makes it quite hot which it was not before. I will be reluctant to order this again, but on the positive side, the cashew chicken is still great.

Food is really good, one thing you should take note on, is that if you pay with debit, for take out service, they automatically choose your tip for you, I ve noticed this a few times and questioned him about it today, then he started to pretend he doesn t know English. 4 star because food is amazing but only you have the option how your money is spent.

Dumplings 6$ plus tax for 4 tiny dumplings...would have rather bought 6 doughnuts at Tim Hortons or 5 drinks at the dollar store or a small donair somewhere.

We had the pad thai and dan dan noodles. Food was decent sized and came out quickly after ordering. The dan dan noodles was a little too much sauce for my liking, although the flavour is delicious. The pad thai was great - zero complaints. Great for a pit stop!

Went with my sister. We ordered an order of spring rolls and dumplings, followed by cashew chicken for her and mango chicken for me. Everything was delicious and the waiter was friendly. Id definitely go again, next time Im in New Glasgow! Vegetarian options: Cashew Chicken minus the chicken.

This place is absolute fire. I had the firecracker pork yesterday and craved it all night so I came back today to get it again and it was just as good.

Excellent service. Great food. I have traveled and worked in the Pan Asian region. The quality and authenticity of their traditional or fusion food is very, very good. If you want something that tastes great, is delicious, and does not require a 10,000 Km trip then this is a great choice. The beauty of Canada is its multicultural community. In this small, Nova Scotian town you can taste food from an ancient culture. They serve Mapo Tofu which was originally developed in 12th century China. I have eaten several dishes including Firecracker Pork and Dan Dan Noodles. I highly recommend Mamastu, great food, good prices and great service. By the way, the waiters name is Dharwyn and he was awesome. Mamastu is a great team from chef to prep to service.

I dont usually write good reviews but this place I just discovered needs some praise! Have tried several dishes and every one has been excellent and very fresh. Love the dumplings and springrolls. Im from Ottawa and have way more selection there but this rivals any Asian food Ive had. Highly recommend!

First time ordering take out and trying it.. Very disappointed with the portion they gave out. Don t waste your money for the price they charge for take out.

Just enjoyed a beautiful supper dish from Mamatsu in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. We have tried take out and eat in here for a few years now and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. I have read reviews about the chicken being chicken loaf with canned sauce. This is just not true. As you can see in my pic it is boneless, skinless chicken meat and the sauce is delightful. The vegetables in this dish are always crisp and fresh. This is a fabulous restaurant and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves freshly made Thai food.

Sometimes it s boring to drive from Hafa just to eat a bowl of noodles and see the scenery.

We were at the Waffle House next door. It is awesome food and the staff are tremendous, friendly and wonderful. The place was busy and everything went very well.

Best Asian food I ve had in a long long time.

Dumplings were quite good. Severely regret trying the Dan Dan noodles for takeout. Basically an over salted, peanut butter spaghetti. Completely inedible and annoyed to have spent money on food going straight to the compost.

It has been a while since I came here. I ordered the same food as I took 4 years ago, which is Dan Dan noodle, and it was so good as it was back then. Its a bit spicy but still really good

Nothing to say other than eat here. Establishment is immaculate, servers are polite and distant when needed and there when you do. Cooks are fantastic. I cant wait to go back and try another dish.

One of the best restaurants in town. They offer vegetarian and meat options, healthy options too. Waiter usually works alone to serve all tables which is a big job and looks overwhelming. It can take a while to get served. Sometimes runs out of tofu and other options by suppertime but they always offer an option that will work for you.

my mom, best friend, her mom and i went here for dinner. since i am lactose intolerant some of the smoothies/tea i could not have. so the waitress asked me if i would be game to try a lactose free drink they were just experimenting with as yet. it was so delicious that i would definitely order it again. and cant forget the food... it was DELICIOUS!

Everything in this place is freshly made...and DELICIOUS. It would be hard to pick a favourite dish as they all are really good!

Casual atmosphere. Nice place to sit and enjoy asian cuisine. The food is quite tasty and the price is good.

Veggie green curry was really good

Excellent place. The food was just awesome and out of this world. We ordered chicken red curry and chicken cashew nut curry. Both of them were good but we loved the red curry the most. Too bad we went there 45 minutes before closure and so a bunch of items were sold out. We are going back there in a few days with more time to eat leisurely. And the service was 6*. Dont know the waiters name but he was excellent.

I ordered the pad thai. Unfortunately for Mamatsu I have actually been to Thailand and had authentic pad thai! Mamatsu serves a heaping plate of tamarind sauce coated starch with very few vegetables. The amount of crushed peanuts was so small that they might as well omit them entirely. There was no slice of lime as is traditional and no opportunity to add chilis. Disappointing.

Love Mamatsu! Always fresh, tasty meals with lots of option (vegan, gluten free, etc.) Also, the staff are all very friendly and accommodating.

The food, service and dining room were all fantastic! I had the dan dan noodles and my husband had pad thai. Both were excellent but the pad thai was exceptional. Absolutely satisfied, especially for the price. We would eat here again if going through New Glasgow.

First time there and it was delicious,company was also good..I have a take out menue with me that I will share with other people in my building.

Went here with my family today after a long walk and we were thirsty wanted to get us some bubble tea looked at the sign before walking in it was 6:50 the sign said closed at 7:00 so I was like perfect , there were three people behind the counter the one gentleman said sorry we are closed now I was like for real and he said yes. Well you have lost our service for good because this is absolutely bad service anywhere else would have taken my order I get it was to late to order food but he didn t even bother asking what I wanted to order and there would have been enough time to make three drinks I m sure. Well anyhow you have lost at least four customers for the future and anyone else I talk to in my family will never go here either.

Their Dan Dan noodles is probably the best thing that has happened in Canada. Its flavorful beyond words, good portion and very presentable. Great dumplings for starters. They have a strong, experienced and organized back of house and welcoming, cool and friendly front of house staff that both work above & beyond, place always looks great with good vibes and clean, lastly for the price is very reasonable. 5/5 indeed!

The food is very good. There seems to only be two people working there, a waitress and chef. Sometimes they run out of items and you dont know until you go to order(reason for 4 stars). Sometimes you wait a while if it is busy. The chef seemed a bit cranky since we showed up before she was about to take her lunch and rushed our food. They should really have two for that reason. You can see all your food being prepared as well. I will visit again and the food and waitress are great.

I like the Dan Dan noodles here, colloquially known as spicy peanut butter spaghetti. Good place for lunch. Unfortunately they close for a week now and then, but dont update their hours on google. Makes me hesitate to book lunch meeting as a result

Dan Dan noodles are just so good. Hard to overstate how delicious they really are. A combination of peanut, chili spice, savory ground pork equates to lots of delicious sauce to cover the noodles. Dumplings are excellent, made with napa cabbage and applewood smoked bacon. Its quite a different palate to other places around but give it an honest try. Service is always friendly although they can be quite busy at times with take out orders as well, but staff do an amazing job of taking care of everyone.
