Swiss Chalet in New Glasgow

Very average, nothing oustanding about this restaurant, the food is good, the service is ok, parking is adequate, the bathrooms are clean. The ambiance is blah. Dec 2024 update. I thought I should review my review :-), we ate in that restaurant again last week, Julie, our waitress, was very prompt and pleasant, our meal was hot and delicious, it was a good experience this time. I would say things have improved at that restaurant this year. Oh, and there was some good music playing, not too loud, just right.

Bread was stale and hard on my take out order other than that 1/4 chicken dinner was lit

As a regular the wait staff simply asks if it the regular? and its almost as if they we were coming. Staff is exceptional in demeanor and service. Parking: Depending on time parking is at a premium because of popularity of business. After 6 is best. Wheelchair accessibility: Curb level with lot and pushbutton door opener.

The ribs were dry. And I mean dry. The chicken breast was dry. I didnt realize that you now have to specifically ask for dipping sauce which was brought promptly. The hostess didnt know what was on special that day. Its a far cry from the Swiss Chalet of the 1960s and 1970s.

Floor manageress Ashley recommended the wings. They were an excellent choice. Warm smile, quick service, good food. Ashley was wonderful. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, appreciated.

Travelling USA & Canada for 3-1/2 months from Australia and I will have to say this is one of our best restaurants we have been to actually going back a second time tonight Fantastic value for money that we have seen in our visit over here Recommend it to anyone Parking: Good

Julie was a wonderful waitress, friendly, courteous, prompt.

Jennifer served us, a large party of 18 for a retirement party. She was prompt, attentive and didn t miss a thing. Suggested what menu items were most popular and desserts as well. We really enjoyed our evening with Jennifer!

Waited 25 minutes after being seated for server to come over. Waited another 5 minutes for water. 3 tables who arrived after my husband and i ordered after us and were served before us. Waited another 30 minutes for our food to arrive and everything was cold. Server said they were short staffed. Server was more interested on playing with the child that was in booth behind us than looking after other customers. Very dissapointed

Ordered wings and Ceasar salad dinner and mini donuts .I had to take it back the wings were dry and the salad was brown ,wasnt done up fresh! The donuts were very hard and dark color .Took it back and I couldnt get a refund ! So I had no choice to order something else which was terrible ,dry ribs and fries ! I have always enjoyed going to the restaurant to eat in, it was always delicious.But take -out ,terrible ! I would have taken a refund instead.Why no refund on the food ? Very disappointed today ,needless to say .

Att need with a large group; they had a nice banquet area set aside for us. The food was good but the highlight was our server Kristina. She made good recommendations for food and drinks. She also has a good sense of humour and was really efficient, made the experience great, thanks Kristina!

We went out to celebrate our anniversary and choose Swiss chalet. We had some issues with the service but when the manager was told he completely looked after us getting our meal to us and looking after the bill.When we got our meal it was delicious.

Went to this location in new Glasgow for a family celebration tonight. Our waitress Jennifier was AMAZING! She was attentive and very pleasant, we loved her and SHE made our celebration extra special. The food was as also very good and fresh and hot! Thank you Jennifer and New Glasgow Swiss Chalet, I would say the best one in the province by far! Parking: Excellent

Me and my partner go through the drive through every now and then and are always treated with amazing service. Literally everytime, the order takers are so patient and attentive and make sure you leave not only with everything you asked for but also napkins, condiments and utensils! We seriously appreciate the extra mile the staff goes to make us feel very welcome :)

Ive eaten here many times over the years, this particular Swiss Chalet location has the best people and service hands down. It really makes for a nice dining experience.

Wasnt a fan as a child if SC but old enough now to make them my go to BBQ chicken when on my travels around the Maritimes.

We ordered harvest salads with chicken. Apparently they dont make those anymore and offered a substitution that the cook invented instead. That invented substitute was just greens with chunks of chicken on top. Grocery store deli salads that were made 10 hours ago are better. Stay away if you want or need something other than ribs.

Worst meal I ve ever ate. Chicken was completely raw, told the server and she said that is just how the chicken is. Both me and my boyfriend were so grossed out we barely touched our food. We said something again to the server and said she wouldn t of ate it either and got another piece that we also didn t eat because we were so grossed out. Nothing was taken off our bill. Paid $65 for food that wasn t edible. The server was nice and efficient.

I ordered a chicken pot pie with a baked potatoes with sour cream and chives and butter. Picked up curbside. Since when is a chicken pot pie dry? Next to no creamy sauce. Also didnt get the chives portion of the sour cream and chives. Disappointed

Always delicious and very friendly staff

The quality and taste has definitely changed over the last year. Rotisserie Chicken no longer has the nice color and flavor it once had. The chicken wings have also changed, and not in a good way. Very disappointed in our last 4 takeout orders. Change is not always a good thing, unfortunately.

Was not impressed with New Glasgows Swiss Chalet. Ordered two chicken wraps with fries they were so small I could have bought them at the corner store for $5 instead I had to pay $50 and got a handful of fries and then they charged me $3 for water that they said was included was not impressed

This is the best Swiss Chalet I ve been to and I ve been to many in my day. The service was excellent and the food was definitely up to snuff. Big points for cleanliness!! Although it was very busy we didn t get the feeling that the place was about to reach critical mass. The team handled themselves very well. Thank you all for a lovely dinner.

We were up for a golf trip. We went for supper at Swiss Chalet and were lucky enough to get Skylar for our server. The meal was great but the service and the service was absolutely stellar!!!! Thank you Skylar for a great evening ...

I stopped in at about 8:40pm. Great personable genuine staff. They helped me find a table with an outlet to charge my phone. Although they would be closing in 20 minutes, you wouldnt know it. The service was great and the food was hot and fresh.

My husband and I ate our dinner today and were served by Sandra. Excellent service and the food was delicious. I ordered the market vegetables instead of fries. They use fresh, not frozen vegetables and I enjoyed them. Another great visit to the New Glasgow Swiss Chalet

Delicious rotisserie chicken as always. The first taste homemade and are so good dipped in gravy. Dont forget to ask for chicken dipping sauce! And for being so commercial grade the buns are surprisingly good, with a tough, chewy texture thats actually so satisfying, especially when theyre still warm and with a little butter.

Our first time eating at this Swiss Chalet. It was a very pleasant experience, the meal was great and our waitress was excellent.

Yes you can usually count on a good chicken and fries here, I do like that they provide lemon water to wash your hands afterwards, keep up.

Got the Thanksgiving Special. The chicken, stuffing and pie were great. A little disappointed in the portions. In the photo of the special there were potatos as well. We did not get potatos and purchased four of these meals. Spent a lot of money for an incomplete meal. However the service was quick and the food we did get was very good.

Great lunch experience! From checking in to exit it was a fantastic experience with excellent customer service. Hot delicious meal was served quickly.

Forgot tea bag for tea, put mayo on veggie burger after specifically asking that they dont. Made me another and didnt bring back any silverware for rest of dinner. Others were all done before even began.

The place was packed and all was excellent!

Ordered for delivery. The driver was lovely. But the food was disappointing. My poutine had no gravey on it with a few pieces of shredded cheese dried to the fries . The website clearly shows cheese curds. Would not of ordered it if I knew it was fake poutine. Our Kale ceaser salad was just regular ceaser which would of been fine but communicate with your customers if something needs to be altered.

Service was great and the food was great. They also have a really great setup in the restaurant for Corona.

Swiss Chalet New Glasgow is a favourite for our family gatherings. Always friendly service, comfortable, clean and delicious food.

The service was great. The waitress was very friendly and personable. I was a little put out that they are running only a basic menu...ribs and chicken mostly, but thats likely due to covid. The restaurant was clean except for the bathroom. All the food was fantastic except my gravy was burnt. Overall it wasnt too bad at all. Waitress had a positive attitude.
