Is this the best restaurant in New Glasgow? 100%. The best in Nova Scotia? That's probably also a yes. We ate a LOT of dishes and they were all spectacular. Really good drinks too.

We booked The Bistro for my son's and bride to be rehearsal dinner party. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant to everyone for it's beautiful atmosphere and warm friendly staff. It truly is a east coast gem! The chef and the back of house staff outdid themselves!!! Thank you to all...we will see you again soon.
The food is always freshly cooked and delicious regardless of what you order. There are so many good dishes to choose but I always seem to end up ordering a fish entrée because they cook it just perfectly. The presentation of every plate is so appetizing that you finish every bite. Also the staff are friendly and give great service. It is no surprise that it is considered the #1 restaurant in New Glasgow.
What an amazing and delightful find this place was! We stopped in on a whim on our way to Cape Breton, and I can’t imagine a more perfect meal and evening. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Nova Scotia, which is saying a lot, and everything was piping hot. The service was quick AND perfectly timed, which is not the same thing, and the staff were all delightfully friendly, personable, and so helpful. Everything here combines to create a lovely and intimate atmosphere that makes it feel so special. The potted duck to start was to die for, and we made sure not a bit of it went to waste. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce and accompaniments all complemented each other perfectly. While we didn’t save much room for dessert, the cocktails we had throughout the evening were fantastic. Highly recommend both the Lemon Drop and a Gin and Tonic with Steinhart’s Rhubarb gin. Make this place a stop on your next trip in the area. We’ll be looking forward to our next visit!

Nice restaurant with decent food. The atmosphere is pleasant and I would guess this is the fanciest restaurant in town. While I did enjoy my food, I was hoping for a little more with the flavors.
Incredibly delicious. And we are usually picky. All of it was great, even the desserts. Service was perfect too and the place is nice&well decorated. Loved it, highly recommend!

Any place that has been in business in a town the size of New Glasgow for TWENTY YEARS (including surviving the Rona) is doing things right. Incredible, fresh food sourced locally. Impeccable service. Cozy atmosphere. A true gem.

Really a very good restaurant, New Glasco is lucky to have it. We had the Duck and the Spegetti, they were both fantastic! Good service knowledgeable staff. All you can ask for.

the only place to eat in Pictou County. The food is fabulous, the service perfect and an on going art exhibit that changes often. If you have allergies they work with you and create for you.

A very pleasant surprise indeed. I met some friends here for dinner and ended up having one of the best meals Ive had since returning to Nova Scotia. The atmosphere was nice and the service friendly.
Small enough to lend an intimate ambience and quiet, rewarding, dining experience, The Bistro, in New Glasgow N S, has become one of our favorite restaurants to go to for that special night out. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It has a small, diverse wine list and the menu has a range of food selections that will allow almost everyone find something that they will like. Recommended!
Many good places to eat in New Glasgow, but you should definitely try the Bistro. Always very yummy.

Awesome food and service. I didnt have a reservation and sat at the small bar. I was dining solo, so it was ok. The meal was great. Crispy haddock with fresh vegetables. Sticky toffee dessert was decadent! Friendly staff made the visit enjoyable. Busy spot. Reccomend reservations for sure.

Excellent dinner experience. Good variety on the menu. Nice atmosphere and professional tending. The daily special was fresh halibut and safe to say the restaurant is now on my top 3 for Nova Scotia as a whole. Ill be coming back here.
Very pleased with out dinner tonight at The Bistro. The hostess (owner?) was extremely gracious and food was ample and delicious. Recommended wine was superb.
