I ve been a regular patron since 2006 so I ve certainly seen quite a number of changes over the past 18 years but the few things that s never changed about Jim s breakfasts is the quality, portion size, and friendly service. They re definitely my favourite go-to place whenever I am craving a diner style breakfast.

I absolutely love this spot. Excellent food for what it is (brekkie). Excellent service. And just a kind atmosphere. An elderly woman liked my cat related stories. Also cats on the booths. Very welcome. Vegetarian options: Will sub easily (not sexual).

Dont go to Jims Cafe expecting anything fancy. Its good food at good prices served by good people. There are a number of places in this part of New Westminster to go for breakfast, and there have been several others that have closed over the years, but Jims is the only one I would really miss if it ever closed or moved.

Ordered Jims bun and the cheesecake - I think the bun itself could have been a little better but the fruit bowl was delicious and the cheesecake delightful and wonderfully flavourful. My experience there wasnt any good. I ordered a omelet, was horrible! I worked in a few restaurants here and there and this place its been so far one of the worst. Greasy, burned out, even the coffee was disappointed. This kind of places are the reason big chains are growing so fast

Great little diner, this sort of diner seems hard to find these days. Would recommend their awesome breakfast dishes, the string-style hash browns are particularly endearing.

Food use to be so good here. But with everything so expensive. Has gone down. Smaller portions. Hash brown are undercooked and oily. The ham is ham from the deli. So it s super thin. Got scrambled eggs. They weren t even fluffy. One solid mass of eggs. Pancakes super thin. Not fluffy.

Since the waffle house closed have been looking for a new lunch place in New Westminster, and I think I have found what I was looking for. Its not fancy or the biggest menu but for breakfast or lunch its perfect. Its an old style diner. Good food at a decent price. Will come again for sure. UPDATE have not had a chance to come back since the last time till today. Was not disappointed, lunch (turkey clubhouse) was excellent. Service very good. Hope to be back sooner than later.

I visited this cafe for breakfast after seeing a lot of good reviews on google, me and husband thought why not give it a try? And trust me it was worth it! I loved their servicing, the waitresses were really friendly and humble. Loved their food. The cafe has a homely environment which I liked the most We will definitely visit this place again!

Great place to come for breakfast! I had the Tomato Farmers breakfast and they allowed me to substitute avocado for the tomatoes. This allowed me to have avocado toast the way I like it, without all the extra stuff, just toast avocado and eggs My wife had the Farmers breakfast. The eggs were perfect, the hashbrowns were crunchy, Mmmm, and the sausage and bacon were fantastic. I definitely recommend eating here!!!!

First time to be inside this mom and pop Cafe. Ambience is nice.. like an extension of grandmas kitchen kind of feeling. Had a Farmer Breakfast, cooked the way I preferred, and unlimited coffee . Will be back here for sure. Staff are very accommodating based on the requests from a group beside my table.

An ok greasy spoon breakfast place. Hash browns were delicious, but the ham and bacon were definitely low grade. The ham tasted and had the texture of a sliced sandwich meat. Scrambled eggs were cooked like an omelette. Id return, but only if other places were super busy.

This is a very special place. Owned and operated by a very special family. Small town cafe, wedged in a big city backdrop. The food is like mom used to make in the 50s thru to the 80s and they wrote the book on customer service. 5 stars arent enough. so the New Westminster judge has given his own extra star to make it a 6 star pick.

They have some good breakfast options. Good sized portions so you will wont leave hungry. Their hollandaise sauce is great and the way they make the eggs for the eggs benedict is perfect. The hashbrowns and all that are a little plain, so you will have to add salt and pepper to your taste. Otherwise this is a good ma and pa establishment and its always great to support local.

Service was exceptional. She was by herself and somehow able to provide polite and speedy service. The food came out within 15mins for the whole restaurant (6+ tables). Had the specials of the day which are $9 + $11: Farmers breakfast and Mexi omlette. Arguably one of the best breakfast restaurants in New West. Chicken noodle soup is brothy and delicious. Hashbrowns soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. The salsa that came with the omlette is to die for. Toasts are surprisingly good. Eggs and sausages done properly, ham doesnt taste or look like bologna.

Didn t have time to take a picture of my brunch, I ate it right away. But I have to say: it s delicious, the portion size is very good, the price is very reasonable. Customer service is great too. I recommend!!!

Went for breakfast last weekend... eggs benny was soggy and absolutely doused in a sweet and salty hollandaise. I had to scrape it off. My girlfriends eggs were basted in grease and the hash browns looked like squashed road kill. I did not enjoy this place at all. Not sure why so popular

Truly terrible, this is a great example of what not to do. Where to even begin... Ugly and dated, gross little bathroom, cheapest of everything. My boyfriend asked about a vegetarian omelette, and was told it came with tomatoes and cheese. He asked if he could add some extra veggies, and after some confusion (the waiter didnt seem sure of what an omelette was) we had our order in. When it came, there were no tomatoes or cheese; the waiter had confused our wanting to add more veggies, with wanting to replace the tomatoes and cheese. So we waited for this to get fixed. To be fair, the food came rather quickly. Unfortunately, the reason the food was so fast was because the items were either pre-made, or canned. I got two pancakes (greasy, crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside, and bland), two scrambled eggs (came like an omelette), and grilled mushrooms (canned). There are some good reviews for this place, and Im certain theyre left by friends of the owners, or people whose tastebuds have died. Bottom line: this place is great if youve done something awful and feel the need to punish yourself.

I came here due to the 6th st cafe being closed and I am regretting it. Im not going to get into ambience because when I walk into places like these im not expecting fancy decor. I simply want proper diner food and they did not deliver. Eggs benedict was sad, the hollandaise sauce was horrendous full of thickening byproduct and the english muffin wasnt toasted as well as the ham. Hashbrowns were crisp on one side only bottom half was mush. I give this a generous 2 stars due to my friends meal being marginally better. The reviews are completely biased and untrue of this establishment.

Awesome place.Great little hole in the wall type place.Very friendly staff and great food.Simple menu,well prepared food with terrific prices.Lots of parking on the streets.My only issue is that they dont open early enough( open @ 8 but 6am would be better.Especially on week ends,they open late compared to all other places. I love coming here and recommend you do as well.Its like going back in time a bit....Youll see !

Dont come expecting anything fancy. Jims has the decor of an old diner. It serves the usual cafe menu of all-day breakfasts, burgers, and sandwiches. The food comes out piping hot and the service is friendly and homey. The portions are big and the prices are good.

$8.50 gets u a massive farmers breakfast. Old school charm, nothing fancy. I LOVE their crispy breakfast pan fries! Made the way pan fries should b made!

This is one those Chinese owned cafes that used to be ubiquitous across BC many years ago, some were excellent for providing really good food at a reasonable price. This is one of those. Simple, quality and reasonable, nothing ever greasy. Breakfast is a specialty and excellent but I do love their BC burgers! I live in Deep Cove now but I make a special trip over to eat here once a month or so.

5 stars for Jims Cafe being good at what it is. A nice, basic cafe. Nothing fancy. Prompt happy service. Food always comes hot as soon as it is ready. This means one person may get served before another at the same table. This is no problem, we just use the first plate as a sampler until the second arrives. Good for simple breakfast, sandwiches and burgers. We like to support our local businesses.

It is becoming one of those places that nickel and dime you. I miss the old place. I may have had my last meal there.

Pretty sure everything came directly out of a box and was just warmed up. The wait staff didnt mention any specials and couldnt tell me different egg cooking options since I dont order eggs often. Price was super cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

The staff is great. I ve never had such an Awesome burger. I feel like I m at a grandmas house who really care about they grandchildren when they are hungry!

Honest breakfast

First time going here.. will definitely be the last. Went here based on a 4.3 star rating. Wasnt in there a minute and the waitress asked if I was ready to order...i asked for a few minutes to go through the menu and I told her it was my first time there. Less than 2 minutes later she was back asking if I was ready. Based on pictures and the reviews on Google, I went with the Farmers Breakfast... it was a big plate of food.. but tasteless. The sausage looked like it was cooked earlier and reheated. It says it comes with ham... it looked and tasted like bologna. Meanwhile the couple behind got the same rushed treatment. They ordered a coffee as soon as they walked in.. they asked for a couple of minutes to look through the menu.. they waited 15 minutes for her to come back. They got fed up, paid for their coffee and left. Also, the entire time i was eating.. not once was I asked if I needed anything or how the meal was. I had to wave someone down to get a drink.

Cheap breakfast with gluten free substitute for the toast. Food is usually good but one time the bacon was half raw. I would recommend the coffee at Mcdonalds instead.
