I woke up today with my significant other, it was super gloomy out and I knew i needed a great pick me up for the day, so I looked to him and said we need the warmth, kindness and great food we find at Amelias and he completely agreed, I would always recommend this restaurant as Ive never had a bad meal and I always leave with a full stomach and pep in my step from how caring and loving the staff is, if I could give more than 5 stars I would 10 out of 10 my favourite restaurant in vancouver

The best value breakfast place in New West by far. The staff is awesome. Love the atmosphere in the early morning. If I had to give a negative, its the potatoes. Just a little bland. But thats why theres salt, pepper and ketchup on the table.

Ordered breakfast for delivery from here today and found a hard piece of plastic in my food. Disgusting. Would not recommend eating here.

TL;DR - I will not eat here again. Service: not existent Food: the pan-fried potatoes are bland Atmosphere: so-so, no background music I dont recommend going there during the weekend, especially for breakfast. The food (a clubhouse sandwich and an egg Benny) came 35 minutes after ordering, while the place was half empty. The food delivery orders probably caused the wait. They should hire more people in the kitchen to handle this more professionally. As for the food, the thinly sliced pan-fried potatoes were tasteless. They were not even salty, and the texture hinted that the restaurant doesnt use oil to fry they tasted more like baked. I couldnt eat more than a few bites. The egg benny was supposed to be cooked medium, but it was easy. I didnt mind that too much. However, that shows the cooks there dont pay attention. The clubhouse sandwich was okay. The worst part at Amelia is the service. Not a single word of apology or excuse was given by the staff there. If they had, this review would probably not have been written. I understand that slow service days may happen, but customer service should be provided, regardless.

I love this place. Classic old style diner. Basic, delicious. Food served with a huge smile. Excellent prices and nice old style ambience. Been here several times and looking forward to many more.

Clean place , quick service. Waffles and egg bacon was cold. Hollandaise did not taste like it should.. the texture was completely different and cold. Coffee is refillable. I think was not worth the price even though it was home made food. But good to try maybe in sometimes when they are not busy and good can come on time in table. We were lucky that it was open in Christmas Day.

Pretty average breakfast place. Not as greasy as it once was which kinda sucks. I only really go out to a greasy spoon breakfast joint to have a greasy breakfast with my hangover. Prices have gone up like everywhere.

Its a greasy spoon type of restaurant: burgers, breakfast, and sandwiches. But they also serve Chinese food on their specials menu on the board. Havent tried it yet, tho. Street parking is hard to get. Bus stops right out front.

A hidden gem in New Westminster. Good breakfast place with a variety of food choices. It has the old town feel. I prefer this place than IHOP and Dennys.

The food was cold and sub par at best. The potatoes had a peculiar texture that were not appetizing Eggs Benny were served sunny side up and whites still runny. Eggs were small with pale yolks. Bacon was paper thin and ham grisly. Sourdough toast was oddly half of the size of regular bread. Sadly, not a satisfying experience.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Run by the owner and I mean literally run. Great food, awesome service. Very busy on weekend mornings. Cash and debit only. Workmans special and coffee for 20.00 including tip.

Had the clubhouse sandwich. Mostly bread with tomato and some lettuce. Two small pieces of bacon somewhere in the distant flavour profile and almost undetectable cheapest turkey or chicken coldcut you can buy couldnt tell you which it was. No replacement for some real turkey which it should be and is cheap enough if you buy them on sale and freeze packages of the real thing. Fries were good and nice and hot but hard to find value as the food cost is top of mind before will the customer actually enjoy this. Answer is not really.

Ive been going here for years. Great breakfast/brunch spot.

Finally got a chance to try this after 12 years living in the area. Its rare to find a place that still provides newspaper and amazing service. Got your classic diner tasting coffee and they even have egg bennies. I wish the hollandaise sauce packed more dijon and Cayenne flavours. And the butter taste is a bit hidden, I think a trick people use to make it more buttery is to use clarified butter or ghee. Would come back here again!

Came here for a late breakfast and fell in love with the place. The staff are so incredibly lovely and attentive. I got the eggs Benny and my eggs were PERFECT! I also love the pan style hash browns. They cook the bacon in the best way, its crunchy but soft still. My boyfriend and I decided we have to go here at least 1-2 Sundays a month for breakfast. If you havent stopped in , just do it you wont be disappointed

I went there yesterday and the food, service was amazing. I ordered a workers breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage and toast and it was in perfect state. Not salty like some other places and not oiled. I loved it and I would totally recommend it. Awesome place for brunch

Food was nasty. They didnt use any oils for the hash so it tasted super dry. I ordered the Eggs Benny and the English muffin tasted stale af. Maybe its because they cater to a senior population with dietary restriction? I guess you pay for what you get. $14 breakfast vs $18 at other places? Who knows. My husband says cooking oil is expensive, which is maybe why they cut it out of their cooking? Im just trying to find ways to justify the nasty tasting food. Yall have any ideas? I dont think Ive had such a bad breakfast in a long time. Dietary restrictions: No oils, no salt or taste in the food. Perfect for seniors. Just not for me.

Its not like those other places that are overrated, expensive, and unreasonably busy. Dont come here to take photos of your food for instagram. Come for a warm welcome, a hot cup of coffee, and the scrambled eggs

Was a small little spot, fairly busy. I enjoyed my food, my partner had sunny side up eggs and they were quite under done, but to be fair they were quite busy

The pancakes were ok and the bacon was actually crisp like I asked. The scramble wasnt as terrible as other restaurants but not great either. The chocolate milk was grainy and too concentrated which made it very unpleasant. I also didnt get enough butter for my pancakes. The food quality wasnt great but I suppose for that price it matches the area.

A great local restaurant for typical smalltown Canadian breakfast and lunch fair. On the westcoast of Canada it is very typical to find restaurants that have bacon and eggs with wonton soup and chowmein on the menu. Love this spot and the wonderful personable people that own and work there. Love it.

No frill and consistent breakfast. Just what you want on those Sunday mornings. This was our go-to place for breakfast, when we lived in new west. We still come here once in a while to eat and say hi to the nice staff here.

I went there to try their breakfast today. The food was good and staffs are good as well. I had to use their mens wahsroom today and the toilet condition was horrible. Its broken and the water kept running continuosly. Request the management to replace the toilet immediately. Thnx.

We always enjoy eating at Amelias as the waitress there, Sharon, is very friendly & welcoming and remembers you. Service is always warm and genuine. Breakfast is what brings most people, especially on weekends and their prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. If you are really hungry, try the Workmans special. The strawberry patch pancakes are very tasty and fluffy. Coffee is refilled often and its a quaint little cafe to go drop in and have a bite. Parking is free and available on the side roads. Theres also a bus stop right in front so its very convenient.

Very disappointed, worse place to have breakfast. We were waiting more than 1 hour to get our food, coffee wasnt hot, pancakes were taste like raw dough, hash browns were like smashed fried potatoes. Their prices for the quality of their food is very high and not Worth it. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Just went here for the first time this morning with the Husband. This will be our weekly treat from here on out. He had the Steak and Eggs and I had the Amelia Burger. His steak was perfectly cooked to the medium rare requested and the potatoes had the perfect top crispyness. My Burgers patty was in house made, and it was incredible. The flavors were just spectacular, even though it looked small it wasnt. The fries were so perfect, I wanted a bucket full... But by the end of the meal I was too full to eat more, even if I had more (this coming from a 280lb hungry man). Its a quiet location, very small town feel, clean, and well put together. The customer service was awesome which is rare nowadays and you almost feel like your spoiled because of the friendly atmosphere and location. Go here, just do it.

Came in for the houses special. Told the very nice waitress yes, bring me some coffee and lots of cream (I have chronic gastritis but I love coffee too much). They gave me 10 creams. Like... Wow. What an example of Customers always right. Guess this is going to be my first 20% tip. These people are just... Nice. Guess thats why I keep coming back.

Doesnt deserve that high rating, very disappointing experience and the place smells very bad! Dont try the eggs, they are really awful... the pancakes are OK though. I dont recommend it at all, and I personally think that a breakfast at Tim Hortons would be a better experience than this.

Came here for a basic simple breakfast and they delivered with good value. Food was a standard breakfast with choices of eggs, bacon, sausage, toast etc. Portions were extremely filling for the price. I couldnt finish my two pancakes along with my eggs and sausage. Next time I Would order the french toast instead as it was pretty tasty. Took covid protocols seriously. All staff wore masks and wiped down the table and chairs very thoroughly after each party leaves. Tables are spaced far apart or have high dividers in between. Customer service was out of this world. I assume all the staff are family whom ran the place with efficiency while maintaining a friendly attitude. Did rounds often to ensure you have everything you needed and provided constant coffee refills. Amelia is a soul satisfying and appetite filling breakfast place in the new west neighborhood. Nothing fancy, yet it impresses you with its humble appeal.
