Food is pretty good here and is like back in Trinidad 🇹🇹. Nice how there is also products you can buy. Prices are a bit expensive but I guess everything is going up these days. Prices are higher now than the pics I took earlier. Service could be better. The owner could remember we are in Canada and not all customers like the blunt talk Caribbean people might be used to.
For quick and consistent Trinidadian doubles , this is the place. I’m usually satiated after one 😋The take debit now as well which means I don’t have to remember to have cash on hand!
They do not supply forks or plates. We where on our way somewhere and thought we would stop by and try. The food was fantastic but it's obviously very messy. I would have paid a bit more even for a plate and utensils. Other then that very delicious.
Scratches the itch if you want Trini doubles and roti. Good taste, heat and served up in good time. Limited parking options due to location and nowhere to sit and eat really. Has a few ‘local’ Trini items for sale. Walk a couple doors down and the Caribbean market offers up some of the same items cheaper.
We had such a lovely experience at the D ROTI SHAK last Saturday. The owner who greeted and served us was super friendly and informative. It was our first time there. We got the Doubles, Phulouries and 2 veg rotis. We tried the Sorrel drink and Mauby which were super tasty! The Doubles were delicious and the Phulouries are a new fav! We were also offered a rice and beans for our toddler which was really thoughtful and well received by our little one. Great place for a full meal or snack. We will definitely be going back to this spot next time we visit New Westminster. Clean and bright space. Thank you for the wonderful experience D ROTI SHAK 🤙
Family owned restaurant, with delicious authentic food! The staff were super friendly and were great with helping us with recommendations. Restaurant style is order at the counter and pay first. I've been trying to find a restaurant that serves ox tail for quite sometime and finally found one. It definitely did not disappoint.
This is a decent enough place to eat. I ordered the chicken roti and couldn't really tell the difference between roti and a curry wrap. I think if I came back I would just order the curry chicken on rice as the wrap is huge and ordering a rice dish would be easier to take home leftovers. The proprietor was very nice but wasn't very helpful with what to order on the menu. Don't drink the tap water as it tastes like plastic bottles
Lots of flavour and good spice. This is one of our favourite places to get roti. Friendly staff. Enough variety in the menu. Got sorrel, Peardrax, doubles, and beef roti. So good. Never disappoints. My wife is from Trinidad and loves the food from here. So lucky to have good Trinni food close by. Would recommend this place to anyone. We will be back (again). Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Terrible food. I ordered doubles and was pathetic.
Best roti and doubles in town
Best roti in the world. A bit expensive for roti but worth it. Cannot eat in. Only take out. Parking: Usually not available nearby
Decided to try our luck here as finding good Caribbean food is hard in the greater Vancouver area/ lower mainland and it s close to where myself and partner live. My partner is Jamaican and he had called to inquire on if the food item that is traditionally Jamaican shown online was available and was met with a rude response from whom we presume is the owner needing to ensure my that my partner felt his question was stupid and why would he even ask as they are trini. We decided that we would still try the food another time so we walked in and were the only ones in the store. No greeting from the man at the desk and the vibes were way off. I ordered the jerk chicken but he said no jerk chicken so I chose the stew chicken. We waited for our food and went to eat it in the store when we were told we can t sit and eat and must leave. Covid signs and social distancing signs are still up 4 years later. We made it clear that we felt that was rude to kick us out especially if there is chairs and bar table to sit at and no one else in the store. None the less, the food was in fact fresh and delicious but it s hard to overlook how we felt and were treated as patrons trying to support a small business. If the craving is strong enough, we will just order off of door dash.
The goat roti was not freshly made. I felt the dal roti and goat curry were previously frozen and just warmed up and put together. Highly disappointed and definitely not worth the price paid.
Rude staff. Cheat on costumers for money l. Beware
the owner is rude. the food is subpar and not cheap.
Delicious!! Best Trini Roti in Burnaby.
secret gem
Tried this place has I was in the mood for some good Trini Roti and Ox-tail. Ox-tail costs 21 dollars and all you get is 3 tiny pieces and a bunch of rice. I understand Ox-tail isn t the cheapest meat, but for that price I should be getting more than 3 small pieces. Flavours were decent though. Curry Chicken Roti was passible but nothing special. Chicken was a tad dry but gravy had a good flavour. Decent spot but I would suggest avoiding the Ox-tail as it is not worth what they are charging.
Tasty Trinidadian food.
Called ahead to order food pickup. The man on the phone was not polite at all. When I arrived the food wasnt ready, I had to wait until the order was ready, which was microwaved. Food wasnt fresh, dry and over cooked, that happens when good gets microwaved. Wont be going back here.
My beef Roti was delicious
Not sure why when I stated my order clear and politely the owner repeated and ask me how many I wanted when I asked for an order of doubles, and aloo pies are on the menu but any time I ve asked for them he never had them
This place is a joke. Found a hair in my food, showed it to the owner, business must be pretty good since he just shrugged and walked away. I was stunned. Will take my money to Baby Dal on Commercial Drive. Hope he goes under.
It was my husbands birthday: were senior seniors and the goat rotis made the birthday. Absolutely delicious, plenty to eat. I made a simple raita, cucumber salad. So glad I did for the rotis were spicy. We easily imagined the Caribbean with its steel drums. Many thanks to the Roti shack for providing a forever memory.
First time at D Roti and was left impressed. The Goat and Beef Roti were amazing. 10/10 would recommend and come back.
Great food!
Ive been searching for a good Caribbean place for a whiiile. This place never disappoints. Ive only ever ordered delivery for the curry goat and jerk chicken and its always hot and delicious. Its authentic, flavourful, spicy and I highly recommend and I will be trying everything on the menu.
Authentic Trini /Trinbagonian (Trinidad and Tobago ) food
The food was definitely delicious but not sure how the restaurant owner expects customers to deal with mediocre service. I was waiting in a line of more than 5 persons for close to half an hour just to get some food.
Absolutely amazing rotis!! Definitely worth every dollar! Fresh and saucy!
Wow! I blown away by the flavours of the food at this place. We ordered the Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat Roti. Jerk Chicken: I was so pleasantly surprised by the flavour of the rice and the chicken. The rice had this really nice fresh and uplifting flavour to it, well balanced with the spices of the chicken. The chicken, was spot on - extremely aromatic / roasted flavours all at once. It was a delight! Curry Goat Roti: Just as beautiful as the dish above. The roti was thin and even throughout with that nice dhalpuri which adds some great texture to the gravy of the curry. The Goat was cooked perfectly, something which fairly few restaurants do so well. Remarks: If you love Indian food, you re bound to love this place. It gives you the feels of a nice home cooked meal. Tips: If you order the roti, make sure you order it unwrapped in the options and it would be nice if the restaurant could invest in something order than the styrofoam box because most of our curry had leaked out!
Oxtail super tender. Goat roti and doubles are very flavourful. Worth the try
Terrific food. Had the curry goat roti and some doubles. Both items were sheer Trinidadian culinary perfection. Balanced flavours, wonderful spicing, just delicious! This should be a 5 star review if not for the unpleasant, unfriendly service. The cranky guy behind the counter seemed like he was unhappy to be there. Our order came out of the kitchen quickly though. If you do go, just order, get your food, pay, and get out. Head down to River Market, find a table and eat there.
Way too spicy!! They use really good cuts of meat and the curry taste good but it was totally ruined with too much heat!! Its actually a shame. It was so spicy, it hurt my stomach. I wish i could go back but unfortunately not. They are really nice people. Please consider not using that much heat in your food. Or at least offer a milder version. I actually had to throw most of it in the garbage. I spent almost $100
Their hours changed. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Now for the food - Today was the first time I visited since summer last year. I found that the quality of the chutneys for the doubles changed. Its a hard time for food businesses due to inflation and they are probably forced to cut corners as making fresh Trini food is time/labour intensive. The doubles are also not fresh, you can taste it in the bara. I give them some stars because they sell some local Trinidadian products which you cant find anywhere else (except for the Caribbean store that is next door).
First time trying a roti.... I asked for a recommendation, and two guys in the restaurant quickly volunteered opinions before the owner could. We tried a chicken and a goat roti... Chicken one was a sweeter milder curry, while the goat was more in your face with the spice. Both were great, but if you are only ok with spice... Maybe skip the goat one. Will go back to try something another time!
Very flavourful food! Prepared fast. Vegetarian options. We dont find it very spicy at all (as someone else commented about). They also sell delicious hot sauces if you want to add heat to your meal. A great option for authentic tasting food. It closes early, so a good lunch/early dinner option.
Listen if you CANT HANDLE SPICE.. Don t even bother .. flavorful but spicy.
It was more of a soup and very greasy. Hardly any meat just gravy.I would rather have dumplings with that.Never buying again
Bought a pack of frozen roti skins and some doubles. The roti is good as always but I had to pay cash for the skins (per the proprietor) though I was able to use my debit card for the doubles (which ware delicious by the way!).
Not a huge selection but the food is very good Vegetarian options: Very little Parking: Challenging at times.
I had been here a few times pre covid and while it was a little expensive, the food was very good and there arent a lot of places to get Trinidadian food. I decided to go back today as I had been craving it for some time. Unfortunately it appears they have gone downhill since then. The service was fine, as they were friendly enough, taking my order and moving into the back to (I thought) make my food. Instead they came back with it just a couple of minutes later, so the food must have been made in advance and just heated up. I use that term loosely as the curry was lukewarm, and the roti itself was cold. In addition to being lukewarm, the curry was watery, bland, and oily. They didnt even include napkins or cutlery. Overall it was quite disappointing and I could not recommend as for a $17 wrap/sandwich there are many better options.
Da food was good Mon & also very nice reception, make you feel as U home
Loved the Chicken Roti. Definitely coming back
Delicious Caribbean good at excellent prices. I literally travel from Vancouver to this location just to get this food. Even my daughter loves it.
This establishment has a warm and cozy feel. COVID-19 restrictions are full adhere to so unfortunately at the moment there is limited seats available. That doesnt stop me from my regular weekly visits, because the food is to die for. Every bite is a teast of the Caribbean full of flavor, and when you cant travel this is the next best thing. Strongly Recommended!
Her food is promising
Friday hours need to be updated. Tried calling multiple times, about an hour before the posted closing time. The phone went directly to voicemail each time. I thought perhaps the phone was just off the hook, however when I got there, the restaurant was closed. I ll try again another day. Please update hours :)
Having lived in Toronto where good Carribean food is much more abundant (like Monas Roti), finding D Roti Shak was like coming home. Thanks to the pandemic, we had takeout beef roti, oxtail, and a double. Everything was well seasoned and spiced, with the right amount of heat. If youre getting a double, make sure you eat it right after you get it. Im already thinking of going back and I just finished the last lick of sauce.
Your food is amazing! I have only one thing to complain about and the only reason I didn t give you 5 stars is because you close way to early! I hope you Consider closing a bit later
My wife is from St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Im from the Miramichi in NB. She says we have to have some Trinidad Roti they make the very best. Well we hit the jackpot when we got them here. Absolutely delicious . The owner was so friendly and gave us a little history on it. We will be back for sure. Thank you.
Huge portions and great value. The food is always delicious here. Be sure to check out the Caribbean grocer two doors down for some great products.
1 star off for the unfriendly attitude of the dad. Other star off for who puts cornmeal in the filling of a roti??? Its been a while since Ive had a roti but I have NEVER had cornmeal in a roti. I do not like the feel of the little grains on my tongue.
Always such a tasty journey back home. I ve never once been disappointed with anything here.
Food is pretty good when its fresh. Dropped one star because they are not open for dinner. Dropped another star for the owners bad attitude.
Having experienced genuine Caribbean cuisine , I would highly recommend this establishment ! The Roti is absolutely fantastic ! Looking forward to trying everything !!
Nice food! Must visit!
Food is good there but the owner is super greedy he puts less meat one day i had missing item and he said he charged me less but it was actually more than usual his prices change everyday bad business wont be going there anymore no one can build a castle over night he whos greedy is disgraced.
Just found out about this place. Im from Toronto so I know roti. This place is amazing! Very authentic.
So nice to have found a Trini restaurant closeby! Felt so homey being able to get doubles and goat curry!
Good food, one of the top Carribean restaurants in BC.
D Roti Shak has friendly and quick service coupled with delicious food. Highly recommend. We had their doubles and roti chicken. Both were mouth watering good. Thank you!
Roti shells are available here
Went back to see if things have changed and learned a few things. When the father is working, you get high quality food and service. The Roti was delicious and he was super pleasant. Bumped up to 4 star. 3 months ago => The food is ok but the man working needs to fix his attitude. Overall the mans attitude takes away from the experience. He wouldnt give me a receipt and when I was staring at his computer and receipt printer he then told me it wasnt working and offered a hand written receipt. He also didnt put any tissue in the takeaway and when I asked him for some tissue, he gave me 2 tissues and we had 2 orders. Now if you have ever had a roti wrap you know 2 tissues isnt even enough for 1 wrap let alone 2. My feeling when I left was if he is so cheap to only give me 2 tissues what has he done with the quality of food ingredients. Its worth the drive to Port Moody to visit Rehanahs Roti. She has awesome shrimp roti. 3 stars because the roti was in itself good.
Their chicken roti with homemade pepper (peppa!) sauce is perfection.
We ordered oxtail with the rice and peas. We have ordered and gone in to the restaurant to eat multiple times. This time the oxtail was horribly spicy where it was it was not edible When I phoned to give feedback the man that answered the phone was extremely rude and did not care at all that I could not eat the food.
A great place for Roti and other Caribbean dishes. I had goat roti and a doubles - both were delicious. They offer Ox-tail on rice and beans so Ill be going back to try that as well. Prices are typical of such an eatery. Above fast food but slightly below average dine in prices. They have a small grocery store inside as well and I picked up some wildly hot ground chili powders and noticed lots of great hot sauces and jerk sauces as well. Owner is friendly and personable. Note: Spice level on the food was likely fine for most. There was a bit of heat but it was far from intense.
Absolutely fantastic. Every bite of every choice is exquisite. The flavors are exactly what they are supposed to taste like from a Trinidadian flavor palate. Exceptional and worth the drive from anywhere in BC.
Mouth Wateringly Good Food!!
I ordered oxtail and chicken roti. Oxtail was delicious, the flavors got right into the bone, neat wad juicy though the meat was less. Chicken roti was v good , It was mix of chicken and potatoes z I wish chicken was more. Next time , Ill try jerk chicken. Overall a v good place to pick up carribean food
Very friendly, above and beyond service
Just ate at D Roti Shak, food was fantastic. I have been driving by for quite some time and decided to give it a try. Well worth it. Thank you Dana and Shawn for a great experience.
Delicious food
Great food, very tasty. An amazing spot to get some great roti
Excellent food and service I would recommend this to everyone. You wont be disappointed
Drove 45 min for a carving and it was so worth it... really good food. This will be my new Roti spot..
I came back for round 2 today n darn it I saw that sign on d door n got depressed hahah. I nom my chops for more oxtail b4 we went back to calgary.
Great Food
Visited D Roti Shak over the weekend for the first time. Food was absolutely delicious. Expect large portions, I barely made a dent in my chicken roti. Must try the Doubles on the appetizer menu. They ll have you going back for more!
Good food and service
Don t believe the hype. I decided to give this place a try to avoid the drive to Port Moody where I usually get roti from , and because of all great reviews. I ordered take out. When I came back the girl working took her time while my food was sitting there packaged and ready until she decided it was time to give it to me. I took the food home as soon as I opened it I noticed a hair stuck to the Roti, that one was put to the side I went to try the other one and was so disappointed after paying 30$ for pretty much dried up plain chickpeas. It was so dry and lack of flavor there was none at all. It was a vegetarian roti inside was potatoes chickpeas and the curry stew. It was horrible I had other people try it nobody liked it it went straight to the garbage. It was definitely made by an amateur. Now I kno to stick to Rihanna s roti in Port Moody.
Food is fresh and delicious! Staff are always friendly and helpful. A really great place for authentic Caribbean cuisine.
Absolutely delicious! Need to come back and try the jerk and oxtail. Havent found any good Caribbean food since moving from Toronto. This place is up there for sure.
Ordered the Chicken Roti, it was great
The chicken roti and the ox tail were amazing! Cant wait to have more.
Amazing food and great people. Easily my favourite place in town.
too dry, not enough hot sauce
Omg I love the goat roti. I was gonna add a picture but I ate it so fast I forgot to take one. My only issue with the food is that I couldn t stop eating and now I over ate. Food coma here I come
Amazing size! Fills your right up easy to share for two for one roti wrap !!! The curry filling is bomb ! Great place to try something different!! Amazing service as well. Owners are friendly and its a local restaurant in the community to support during these times :).
The food here is absolutely amazing! Id recommend any ox tail dish on the menu. The vibe at D Roti shack reminds me of island life, Great customer service here as well, the couple working here definitely does an amazing job, thanks for going above and beyond, Ill be back soon with more of my friends!
Everything I ve tried at D Roti Shak is delicious! The best Caribbean rice I ve ever had and the oxtail is soo tender and flavourful
Wow so good! Really needed this. I lived in Trinidad for 6 months and the flavor here is very very authentic. You have to try the Doubles!
Ive been here three times. The girl who runs the front counter remembered me after the first time and is super friendly. Ive already told many of my friends to come here, including my dad, whose parents are from Trinidad. Its been a taste of my childhood to eat here. :)
Unfortunately it was closed until further notice Aug 13 2020 Good authentic Trinidad food. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
There is a sign on the door that says closed until further notice.
The woman who runs the front counter is amazing!! She is super friendly and kind. She has made me feel super welcomed since moving here from Toronto. The food is great as well. I love the doubles!!
Delicious homemade roti with homemade non alcohol drink options! Tasty! Friendly service, quick service!
Can t believe I just found about this little gem! The Ox Tail special is a must get! The goat roti was also delicious and cooked to perfection. Such amazing flavors and the spices are perfect! Definitely get the homemade hot sauce on the side. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! It s simple, friendly and perfect. The owner s children recently (before COVID) took over management of it and have done some redecorating and upgrades. They were telling me at some point that they are hoping to extend hours and get live music some nights (I hope they are still planning in doing this post-covid). They are the absolute nicest people and their food is delicious; completely made with love. I m super super lucky I live close.
Flavor and Spice
My first time trying Caribbean food and I love it. The flaky roti was awesome and the ox tail cannot be compared to anything else Ive ever had. Will definetly be returning again. Well worth the drive from Langley.
Omgg I love the doubles
INCREDIBLE food. Amazing staff made the whole experience such a pleasure, and the quality of the food took it to another level. Highly highly recommend to anyone that is looking for high quality food at an affordable price.
First time customer, let me tell you this is the best Authentic Trinidad food i have had, had the curry chicken roti and beef roti as well as 6 doubles and everything was 10/10. The cooks are extremely talented. I recommend everyone to support this buisness your stomach will thank you. They provided cutlery and the most delicious sauce to go with the roti and doubles and even asked if i prefer it on the side instead of in the roti. Front desk cashier was extremely friendly , they play the best music. Cannot wait till covid is over and i can eat inside here. Currently it is take out only, so just call ahead to order. Took only 15min to be ready after i called around 2pm weekday. Thanks for the great food i will be back
To die for ...
Love it. The double is a must try
The Caribbean food is the best!!
Best roti in BC! Done deal!!!
The food is so delicious!!! The worker/owner is quite friendly and funny!! I love the food here! Ill be back!!
Love love love the Oxtail Best Ive had and I keep going back for more. The owner is friendly and will keep you entertained while you wait for your food if your getting take out . Hes funny and chatty. I always feel like Im visiting with an old friend. The Curry Goat Roti is also really good I just love the Oxtail to much to ever get anything else haha.. Enjoy
Whatever kind of roti you get (beef, chicken, shrimp, goat, vegetable) will be incredible. You will leave full and happy!
Roti with chicken was filling and good. I pushed myself to complete one piece. $ >They do not accept Credit card. So do carry debit or cash. They close by 6 PM. The reason for 4 star it made my tummy full without hitting my wallet.
Great food. Properly seasoned
One of the best Caribbean food spots in Vancouver obviously the best roti though no comparison
Friendly owner. Great place to relax with a roti
Im so glad to have discovered this place! Currey goat is no joke with the special hot sauce. Best in town
Its always Soo hot in here when we visit. My husband has a Caribbean background and there arent many restaurants in the lower mainland that serves this type of cuisine. The chicken roti is very delicious.. the chicken is flavourful and tender and encased in soft dal Puri. The doubles are also nice as they have some sort of tamarind chutney poured on top.
The Roti delicious and the service is quick! Watch out it is a little spicy!
Great flavor in the food. Does not take credit cards.
Fantastic food!
Amazing and authentic, great to eat in or take out.
Very satisfying Trinidadian lunch! Superb Roti and Curry. Large portions, reasonable prices. Good selection of cold Beer. Very personable owner. Clean and welcoming.
Quite possibly the only place to get authentic West Indian food in the greater Vancouver area. Dont settle for those fusion places, get yourself a real Trini meal and eat with your fingers here.
Food is amazing!
Excellent food! Best Roti in town!
Decent food and decent portions. I thought the prices were a bit high for the region, however that might be because of the region and possible low traffic.
Great food and super friendly people. The owner joked with me about my tatttooed head and contemplated getting his own balding nogging tattooed.
The curry chicken tastes just like y mom makes. Good portions for a great price.
Great Caribbean food! Roti the best great service.
Very good food very authentic
Excellent service, Great Host...love the Roti!!!
Best rori in town
Tried the Chicken and Beef Roti for the first time. The roti were filled mostly of potato and not enough meat. The chicken roti was not that spicy hot, however the beef roti was really hot. I downed my cup of water so fast. Both rotis were flavourful. I liked the texture of this roti better than the South Asian roti.
If your looking for authentic Trinidadian good, look no further. Great service and good food.
Excellent chicken curry and roti deserves 5 stars... loved it, great helping and A1 service, just the double doubles could be a little more flavorful on the chickpea filling ...owner is a super nice guy too.
Feel like I was in Trinidad. Curry nice, doubles tasting nice, too.
Beef roti nice! Good spice, well cooked potatoes, everything good! Definitely worth the trip.
Good food !!
Disappointed. Ordered a chicken roti and it was filled with mash potatoes. Chicken potatoe ratio was 20/80. Super disappointed.
Excellent food , kinda spicey
I was in New West today and had heard good things about D Roti Shak so wanted to try it. Having lived in the Caribbean I was looking forward to a nice goat roti. I ordered two and the person at cash rang it up for $28. The posted price for goat roti is $13 so I asked how he came to that total. He told me the price had changed and he hadnt had a chance to change the sign, followed by do you want it or not. I left immediately and wont be returning.
Walked in to order roti, super excited because Ive been to Trinidad and the server was shady. Couldnt use my card since it ran as credit and he only accepts debit. I only had U.S. dollars and asked if I could use it and he said yes so I did the exchange rate and he wouldnt accept the exchange rate price including a tip. Said he doesnt do that it has to be dollar for dollar. He was very rude and unprofessional and seemed like he didnt want any business so we left. He is shady.
Never too much roti...if there is three roti...Im eating all three
Good Food best Roti in town
Loved the chicken Roti it was so good!
best roti in Vancouver
Amazing experience
Great food great people
Anyone who knows anything about West Indian food knows you can t expect good food with a smile! The roti and the doubles are nice (by nice I mean niiiiiice) I only wish there was more demand for trini food so they could carry more items! All u Caribbean people hiding out on the west coast tek your ass to this place!
Had the chicken roti. It was good.
It doesnt look like much but the food is excellent!
Love the place and the dhall pouri as it is called in my country same thing but here its a roti
Best Trinidadian food anywhere
Amazing tasty food. Full of flavor. Good prices. Highly recommend if you are in the NewWest area. It was nice to have a carib again too
Great goat roti.
I only bought plain roti, dalpuri, but they were excellent.
Third time visiting and it did not dissapoint. We had the chicken roti & shrimp curry on rice, which came to $32 with 10% tip. The rice was amazing and SO flavourful. The portion sizes were ample and we left feeling full. Some things to point out -- do not expect spectacular service, prices can differ from whats listed on the board, and order/bill/tip is done upon arrival at the front counter. Prices are steep for the ambiance & service provided but the food is outstanding!
Moved here from Ontario, was born in Trinidad and this is the worst quality Caribbean food Ive ever tasted. Got the Chicken Roti and the chicken smelled and tasted of freezer burn. Almost like it was in the freezer for a year and then thawed out in a microwave before being served. The quality of the curry is lacking as well. Definitely not Chief Brand from Trinidad, very mild in flavour and its like they tried to compensate with pepper. Its too bad that theres no real West Indian food around the lower mainland. I was searching for a while and was real hard up for some Trini food but havent been so disappointed before. Felt the need to review because of the severe disappointment. $4.15/ doubles?? Really? $13.50 for a roti??
Best Rotis in town
Amazing food place. Dholl puri and roti
This is my go to place for a roti. Ive had the chicken, shrimp and goat and they are all excellent. The house made pepper sauce is excellent!
D roti shak love the roti, myself and girlfriend will bring the family for dinner soon.
Food was tasty but price for amount of food and presentation was less than desired
When youre craving authentic Caribbean roti, this is the place. No frills but the food is great. My favourite is the chicken roti.
Amazing authentic carribean food!
Hasnt been a better place in Vancouver to eat authentic yard food. Big restaurant with plenty of seating. Ordered the stew chicken with rice. Havent experienced a better place than this yet. Forgive me if I spelt it wrong but Shak was beyond gracious, he took time and spoke with us casually and made us felt right at home. Would come back in a heartbeat. Did I mention how good the food was?
Had a chicken roti and a goat roti to go (both for me, mmmm). Both were great, and the roti skins are very nice - thin, very soft, but held together well, and no chickpea powder falling everywhere. There arent many Trini roti places around town, so its great to see another good quality one. Ill definitely be stopping by here again even though I live in East Van.
The best Chicken Roti in Vancouver and maybe Canada. Try and see for yourself!
Food is good when the lady makes it but the male server there has something his ass super stuck up.
Yummy
Great service. Good taste
I tried Caribbean food here for first time. Great vegetarian options. Double is a great little tapa dish. Dont forget to try mango drink here. Ever since I discovered this place I have frequented often with friends and they too enjoyed. Its very casual place.
Yummmmmmy
I havent had a good roti in a while since moving away from home, my dad makes amazing ones too so being far from home I was excited to try theirs! It did not disappoint so soft and delicious and it was so filling, for the price definitely worth it too. My only disappointment was they had no kuchela as the guy said they didnt have any mangos! Just gives me an excuse to go back
Great place for authentic Trinidadian Roti. Tried the Beef and also the Goat one. Soooo good. The portions are big!
Great roti! Reasonably priced. I dare you to go in there and smell it and not want to eat
