352-800 Carnarvon St, New Westminster, BC V3M 1C4, Canada
Trendy, casual eatery serving poutine, fries & burgers along with unique sauces & local craft beers.
Today, while I was out shopping. I decided to go and grab a poutine from the spud shack. Every time I go there it great as they have delicious poutines, great service and stuff. I ordered myself the medium size of the night market. Which is fries, curds, and gravy topped with ginger beef, spicy mayo, kimchi, crispy wontons, and green onions. It is always a good treat to have on a cold day, but especially after a nice long walk home. Can't wait to have the other ones there as I have had them before.
Staff are great and will answer any questions you have and will help you make the right choice as they have so many unique poutines to choose from. We had the The Gaucho “Cowboy” it was so much flavor it almost overwhelmed us. The flavors work with each other and each bit is delicious yet never the same as the last bite. We had the smalls and they were still rather large in size so be mindful when ordering as this is not food to be wasted and enjoyed. My friend now wants to go back when back in town visiting as they want to try more of the offerings.
baked potato poutine so good might be best poutine ever
we ordered one large butter chicken poutine for my bf and i. we also got jarritos, very affordable and delicious. service was fast as well - would go back 💯
Got the pulled pork poutine. I was quite surprised but this is some of the best tasting and textually best pulled pork I've had. The poutine was tasty the gravy was tasteful and the cheese squeaks! All sign of a good poutine the chips even stayed crispy right till the end. Very well done.
One of the best place to eat poutine and burger. Flavor are well balance. Very accessible to skytrain. Better try and you will love it.
This is a great place to try poutine. It's a little hard to find if your not in the area (second floor on the train station) and they have free water. The poutine was a little salty but it was so so yummy. Definitely recommend trying if you are in new westminster
The Spud Shack Fry in New Westminster is a hidden gem for anyone who loves fries. The menu features a delicious array of loaded fries and poutine, all made with perfectly crispy potatoes. The portions are generous, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The casual and cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. If you're in the mood for some seriously good fries, The Spud Shack Fry is the place to go.
Consistently delicious over the years. I wish I lived closer to this place!
Great food and service! Loved The Gaucho! The butter chicken was also very good. Highly recommend coming here for poutines!
I love just plain fries with a dip! So cheap and so delicious!! Be sure to ask for extra crispy
Soggy limpy fries, overpriced and really nasty attitude from the worker . They charge for bag without even asking. Would not come back here just cause of the service ! the high reviews are unbelievable
Best Poutine in Vancouver!!!!!
I have gone here many times (especially on Mondays when their poutines are at a discount), and I must say this place is a necessary stop to take while taking the skytrain. Not only are the portions enormous and worth the price, the food is top notch, no matter what you order. I ve had almost all their poutine types and each one slaps in a different way. Their burgers aren t to scoff at either, these things are chewy and flavourful. Their slogan isn t lying, this is effin good food!
The Gaucho is actually peak poutine (i was defeated by the large portion)
Delicious poutine, with a lotta variety and sweeeet portion sizes for the value. A medium poutine shared between two was enough to satisfy the both of us, and the staff are always friendly. Convenient location for a quick stop and go, too.
This place is excellent. Well priced, friendly service, and delicious, generously portioned food. Better value than similar restaurants.
Amazing customer service from the staff closing this evening! Will be back for sure!
Try the fries here, really good!
The Night Market is my favourite Poutine! Thank you so much!
Love that cowboy poutine. Legendary.
Poutine and the Effin burger were amazing, fantastic stop on our trip!
Great portions and delicious flavor
I always come here when i go to the movies and get a butter chicken poutine
Awesome little place that serves amazing food!! Service is wonderful! The main guy whos always there, is fun and cute and has great customer service! My daughter and I go every time were in the area!
By far some of the best poutine Ive ever had! Wish we could get a place like this back home! Thank you for the amazing experience SpudShack I will be a returning customer the next time Im in Vancouver :)
Arguably one top 3 poutineries in all of the GBA. Simple environment, good food at a good price. Nothing fancy sept, the cheese curds!
The food was decent, but the lack of air conditioning made for an uncomfortable dining experience.
Best fries and dips
Everything including the staff is great I love this place
The guys working were super nice! Food tasted great as well, 100% would go back
Damn good poutine, killer portion size. A gem of a business that doesnt compromise on quality nor value
Poutines have been a staple for me and this place serves up beautiful dishes. It is small and cozy with great service. The sauces are all handmade and really delicious. I highly recommend the poutine which has deals on Monday; however, I cant recommend the burger. The Jamba with the Andalusia Mayo is a must try.
Portions are very large
Some of my fries were cold and stale (I had my poutine in the restaurant). Beyond anything else, that seems unforgivable. Maybe Im just getting too old, but the ambience was terrible. The music is cranked up, so the staff are screeching at each other, so having anything resembling a conversation is out of the question. The tables were sticky, and while that could be a comment aimed at the staff, I actually think it might be the plates at fault. My small poutine was spilling gravy over the sides, resulting in an inevitable mess. Maybe this place works for takeout, where you can easily reheat your food if you get it cold; but I wouldnt recommend it.
Great food
Great chill place with great poutine. Loved the Montreal smoked meat poutine! And deep fried pickles for the win. Nice to be able to grab a beer too.
Had a Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich with a Night Market poutine with friends on Saturday. It was my first time visiting and I had a great time overall!
Get the Night Market Poutine. Chefs kiss! Also I put a mouse sticker in the bathroom lol Recommended dishes
This place has great poutine and a large selection to choose from. I always stop by when I have a craving for poutine. This is also a great location that is easily accessible from the skytrain.
Just want to thank the staff for helping me out today. Especially the guy with the beard, you the MVP.
Bad. Got take out, my fish was brown, it was so over fried I think they just took a stale piece of fish and refried it to heat it up and give it to me. Charged me almost $19 for one little piece of this brown fish, and it wasnt even high quality fish, it was just cod. AND THEN THEY COMPLETELY FORGOT TO GIVE ME ANY TARTAR SAUCE. They just pad the box with tons of soggy, unsalted fries. NO, that does not make it good value. The parmesan mayo that came with the pickle spears was disgusting, so thick it wasnt even a mayo consistency, it was a paste. Absolutely nothing redeeming about the whole order.
Excellent poutine shop. Staff is always top notch, very friendly and upbeat. Food comes fast and hot and prices are reasonable, mondays are 30% off the regular menu. Food is excellent: my usual is a slice of fried fish with the Goucho Cowboy, a poutine with South American flavours. Also have had the Montreal poutine, it is good as well. Only downside is the tables are perpetually sticky; be it due to being unclean or is it just the texture of finish used on the wood? I dont know...it helps it less that the foo is served on vessels too small for the food they give you making it hard not to make a mess of the table while eating, try as I might. Otherwise fantastic place, on my tops list.
Best frites! My family eats at Spud Shack on the regular. Theres something for everyone and its all excellent! Vegetarian options: Their yam, oat & quinoa burger is so good! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Kid-friendliness: What kid doesnt love fries?!
decided to try out this place for the first time. i ordered takeout but i unfortunately found a hair in my poutine i went back and the staff were so apologetic and kind. they gave me a refund and remade my poutine! the service was amazing, the poutine (without the hair) was alright lol
Awesome place with the best poutine
Lots of choices
Really good portion sizes and so many options of fun and interesting poutines. I ordered The Night Market, it was good but there was a bit too much going on, I don t think the kimchi and gravy go together very well.
Absolutely incredible
I called this place before placing my order on skip and the owner sat patiently with me answering questions and discussing vegetarian options with me with such kindness and genuine respect. Not o ly is the owner an amazing person but the food is the best poutine in the lower mainland. I cannot recommend this place more!!! (If youre a vegetarian or just in the mood for an amazing poutine theyre the best)
A definite must try place. Lots of selections to try aswell
Great place to grab some poutine at the New West station, but limited seating due to the location
Fun and nice place awesome size portions and deals on mondays
Great little place to enjoy some really good food, drinks and friendly staff. My wife and I are from Windsor Ontario, visiting our daughter. She introduced us to this little gem a few years ago and now is our go to place when visiting and it hasnt changed. Would recommend to others.
Ive been taking out regularly. Same menu, same instruction Montreal, no pickles no mustard. No outstanding orders when i came in. How hard is it to read a simple instruction when there are no other orders? Please double check the food before you send it out
I must admit that my recent visit to the **Spud Co Fry Shack** was an unexpected deviation from my usual culinary escapades. Fast food establishments rarely grace my discerning palate, but curiosity led me to this humble fry haven. Upon entering, I was greeted not by a maître d, but by a cheerful teenager sporting a cap adorned with the Spud Co logo. The ambiance was decidedly unpretentious no crystal chandeliers or velvet drapes here. Instead, fluorescent lights hummed overhead, casting an unapologetic glow on the menu boards. My order a simple combo of a classic poutine was placed with remarkable efficiency. The cashiers nimble fingers danced across the register, and within moments, No sommelier appeared to recommend a pairing; instead, I chose from an array of condiments: ketchup, or vinegar, As I settled into a red plastic booth, I observed the kitchen staff. Their choreography was mesmerizing: all in a seamless rhythm. The fryers sizzle became our background music, replacing the usual strains of Debussy. The pièce de résistance arrived swiftly: a mountain of fries crowned with a generous blanket of cheese curds and velvety gravy. My fork hesitated no silver cutlery here, just a sturdy plastic utensil. But the aroma! It transported me to the bustling streets of Montreal, where bistros serve comfort on porcelain plates. The fries crisp, yet yielding were a revelation. Their humble origins belied their flavor. The poutine, a symphony of textures, harmonized beautifully. The gravy clung to the curds like a secret whispered in a dimly lit alley. I closed my eyes, momentarily forgetting my Michelin-starred past. As I devoured my meal, I marveled at the Spud Co Fry Shacks efficiency. No languid courses, no fussy presentations just speed and satisfaction. The staff, moved with purpose. Perhaps this was their secret ingredient: passion for the humble spud. Is the best Poutine in Vancouver mais non, Alors bon appétit, mes amis! Vegetarian options: Poutine are vegetarian if you do not look to closely.
I love the food here! Also the staff are ALL so nice and friendly, the service is really good and they always seem so happy and upbeat
Chef has an attitude but makes a killer burger and poutine. Must try.
ATTENTION ALL VISITING FROM SOUTH OF THE BORDER if you want Poutine this is The place to go. Last time we came up we had poutine at a bar and grill with the worst gravy imaginable but this? This place was amazing. I got recommended by friends and both myself, and my two travel companions loved it and it was worth not picking up breakfast before the 3 hour drive north! Excellent food, staff is really friendly as well. I ll definitely be coming back when we do another day trip!
Insanely good, I almost forgot to take a picture of it. I ordered the original small.
THIS PLACE IS 5 STARS ! For ever category . First off staff was AMAZING the person who helped up was so great and answered all our questions he recommended the Poutine with ginger beef ! ITS AMAXING 10/10 ! Best poutine you will ever have . He was so nice !!! Also the atmosphere was like you were in down town Vancouver . Such great vibes makes me want to come back and have a few drinks for date night . THE FOOD THO IS AMAZING BURGERS AND ALL
Great poutine, reasonably priced, friendly staffs and atmosphere.
Poutine is amazing here !!
Best poutine spot in New Westminister. Nice staff. Highly recommended!
Likes it!
went with my friend and was delicious
Classic poutine is a1
I had a fantastic meal here at the spud shack for my first time being served by fantastic staff, such as Pan and Jen. Pan was very passionate about the menu and I I was very Was very impressed with his knowledge. Being a non-meat eater, I have an option to choose a very healthy veggie burger that was made out of real veggies and not that fake meat garbage. This makes a non-eater. Very happy that we have more options of eating out. Thank you for creating such a delicious menu.
One of the best poutines I ve had in awhile
Certainly NOT disappointing, so good !!
Great poutine 10/10 The bbq pork, buttered chicken were my favorite Food : 5/5
Great poutine! Sweet staff!
First of all, the poutine is amazing and they even have vegetarian gravy... But what will make you come back is the amazing group of employees there....cant help but leave smiling Vegetarian options: The vegetarian poutine is amazing....
Photo: Large Montreal Poutine, and Burger The reviews dont lie, youll get some of the best smoked meat and poutine here in all of Vancouver. (Trust me, Ive been to Schwartz) Give it a try, and you can tell those in the kitchen are professionals. And reasonable prices for poutines and burgers!
Such a great tasting poutine! So much flavour! You know it s good when the cheese squeaks and this cheeses does exactly that!
I recently tried the Le Montreal poutine at this place, and it was absolutely fantastic! The flavors were on point, making it a delightful experience. The interior has a chill vibe, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and the service was excellent. A must-visit for poutine enthusiasts. A little difficult to find on first visit (its on the third floor beside SkyTrain platform)
The perfect place to go and enjoy a succulent poutine with friends or by yourself. The poutine tgere is delicious, you wont be disappointed Parking: you have to park on the stations parking lot which is accessible from carnarvon street.
This place is phenomenon! The best poutine EVER! Burgers are a good call as well!
Nice cozy place for some decent poutine. The menu is a bit of a hit and miss unfortunately. The kroket bites, butter chicken and the baked potato poutine are must trys. Unfortunately the poutine I really was looking forward to the night market was a huge let down, aswell the meatball poutine. Recommend if you are looking for a quick bite before or after a movie.
Hands down the best poutine in the lower mainland. Montreal smoked meat, original and the vegan options are all amazing. Would recommend. Vegetarian options: Wife is a vegan and I have even order the vegan options myself.
Decided to try this after hearing a lot of recommendations. I had the Montreal smoked meat while my 10 year old son had the baked potato. The medium size was more than enough for me and was too much for my son. Next time wed probably get a small each. The poutine was excellent. The cheese curds were extra stringy. Toppings were very generous and it was super tasty. Definitely recommend will be going back soon.
Unique and delicious meals here. Everything is very fresh and flavorful. The owner, Dan, is very nice and professional. Definitely coming back when Im in the area.
Super delicious.
I have gotten take out from them for years, I absolutely love it! One of the best variety poutines, with vegetarian and vegan options. My favorite is the butter chicken poutine, so amazing!
Love the poutine! And the creative menu. Faves so far are original, of course, night market and butter chicken!
Had the Montreal meat poutine. Lots of meat that really went well with the mustard and poutine. Very delicious and great customer service
This staff can get stuffed. Absolutely cocky and ignorant. cant use the bathroom after already paying. I needed to spend 10 dollars not a drink or sauce even though it is buying something and i was a paying customer. like how stuck up do you have to be to let a working person use the bathroom not even a homeless looking one.
Poutine was ok, nothing special. No diet soft drinks available for diabetics.
Would give 10 stars, if I could. When I need comfort food, I get the vegan buffalo chicken. Been a costumer since the beginning. Sorry for the late review
Dingy place with the best poutine
I ordered salmon burger, that is great, but the fires is amazing!
Regular poutine was good
o o o o yes siiii good so yummy
Their small is actually super generous and amazing quality. I couldnt even finish it and Im usually a big eater.
Best poutines ive tried in Vancouver with lots of options
Delicious poutine. I swear it should not be this hard to find good poutine in Canada but somehow it kinda is.
Very good poutine!! reminds me of Montreal!! Good little restaurant at the exit of the skytrain very practical for take out just before taking the bus to go home!! I recommend it delllllicious and have eaten little on site or take out and delivery!! and very close new westminster station services
As someone whos tasted my fair share of poutines, I can confidently say that the Spud Shack restaurant is a game changer. This place knows how to smash cultures together in the most delicious way possible. Their poutine fusion dishes are unlike anything Ive ever tasted before. They take the classic Canadian dish and infuse it with flavors from all over the world. I tried the The Gaucho Cowboy poutine and it was nuts. The fries were perfectly crispy and topped with argentinian beef, chimichurri, and a roasted garlic mayo. Ridiculous... Their butter chicken poutine felt weirdly authentic to the traditional dish. I am not sure how that is achieved. The portion sizes are more than generous - I definitely needed to take some home with me. Overall, the Spud Shack is a must-visit for anyone looking to expand their poutine horizons. The fusion dishes are executed to perfection, and the flavors are truly unique. I recall the best combo imaginable was going to the movies and ordering a New York Fries poutine before the movie. This takes it to the moon, especially with the movie theatre next door. Grab a beer and poutine. thank me later.
Eating area is a bit small, but overall its a fantastic place to eat
A nice, casual place to have lunch with friends. Right by the skytrain station. Portions are generous, and the vegan buffalo chicken tasted great! A little bit salty, but still good flavour. Definitely coming back :)
First time to visit here. Had two burgers and it was nice.
Food is great, hours are decent too. They are open pretty late, including on the weekends. Love their poutine. Original, meat and vegetarian poutine options that we tried all tasted great. They have a few choices of beer as well as non-alcoholic beverages. One of our favourite spots. Vegetarian options: The original poutine is great, the Big V is awesome as well - love both. They have one more vegetarian poutine, but I dont remember which one, as I very rarely get it.
My daughter and I had just finished watching a movie at Landmark Cinemas and decided to have dinner at Spud Shack as it was conveniently located, steps away from the Landmark Cinemas. We shared a large order of The Original Poutine. It was OK. Fries were hot and crispy, and the cheese curds were squeaky but I found the gravy was a bit too heavy on the salt. As a Pescatarian though, I do very much appreciate that their gravy is Vegan by default. Its nice to be able to enjoy familiar foods like Poutine, and not have to miss out on it because of the gravy. Service: Good Parking: Paid parking Location: #325 - 800 Carnarvon Street, New Westminster
Tried the Squealer poutine, it was perfectly delicious! will be back soon
best poutine i ve ever had, nothing compares to spud 100/10
This place is going downhill for sure. We ve been to this poutine place for 4 years and the very recent visit, the quality and quantity of the food surprisingly changed in a negative way. The cheese curd on my poutine, seriously, a very very very light sprinkle on top and that s it. I tried to see if I could find more cheese curd at the bottom of fries, but yeah another 2-3 pcs. They used to put a bunch of cheese on top even it s for Togo, but this time nah In terms of the flavor of poutine, it did become less flavorful and less gravy. Costco poutine tastes actually better , bigger, cheaper and it comes with lots of cheese curd on top. (The photo was taken before I had it seriously no joke !!!!)
I would get the night market or one of their special poutines rather than just plain one.
Some of the most unique poutines.
Very unique Belgian Style Poutine s, highly recommend! Atmosphere is order at the counter and pick up when ready. Great little spot for a quick eat, especially before going to landmark! I ve came here twice before but this time I had the pleasure of meeting the chef that had created the menu, I forgot his name when he said he d forget mine because I was stunned by the recommendation that was in front of me! We ordered: Small The Gaucho CowBoy poutine (Recommend) Firstly, you get a bang for your buck! Portion and price is fair. The small was good enough for 2 or 1 really hungry person! The chef had told us the Argentinian beef is slow braised and takes all together 5 hours, absolutely delicious. Flavour combo with the juicy meat, savoury cheese, crispy fresh potato fries compliments the Chimichurri and I must say this poutine was weeet. They don t skip out on the succulent gravy they drench on top. I must say, I ve never had such a great soupy poutine and I say that in the ut most best way! We ordered for takeout just in case we wouldn t finish, we went out the door empty handed Overall, highly recommend stopping by if you re near or stopping at New west Minister Skytrain station area or landmarks!
Prices were a lot. To be fair the quality and taste was there and prices are crazy everywhere but still. It was a LOT. Regardless I did find it tasty, the order taker was kind of in your face but she was knowledgeable and suggested a beer that wouldn t clash with what I ate
Poutine is super duper delicious. Worth the price! I will definitely go back here again.
Wonderful, friendly, informative staff and fantastic service. Tasty food! Best poutine Ive eaten in New West! And the chicken strips are great, not the frozen bagged stuff! Thanks for a great lunch, Spudsters! Vegetarian options: Vegan gravy plus plant based meat option on a poutine!
Undeniably the best food in New Westminster. Fantastic service that follows. Vegetarian options: Great selection Food : 5/5 |
Location and food is amazing
Great location, when you get off the subway in New West you already find the restaurant. Its a small restaurant, but it has a nice atmosphere and serves great poutine options. Its worth the visit!
I ve been coming here since the end of 2016. I used to love this place. If I had to rate back then, it was 11/10. Now, this place is super inconsistent. I stopped being a regular in late 2017 when they introduced the new portion sizes. Poutine was still good, but price got too high. I ve been back at least over a dozen times since and each time it s failed. The quality tanked during the pandemic and it s never come up since. For example, fries are often undercooked or overcooked. Either you get a limp starch noodle or a friend twig. No in between. On top of that it s super salty all the times. A few months ago the gravy tasted like seaweed and was thicker than molasses. Made me really sick down there if you know what I mean. This particular time, the gravy tastes like vegetable stock and has the same consistency as diluted soup. I am not going to come back anymore. The nostalgia I experienced while coming here has gone sour as this place cannot care about their consistency
The best poutine place in town! Highly recommended!
Id rather have a smaller portion but better quality. I had just a bit of the food (chicken strip with fries). Youll see how much will go to garbage. All I tasted was bad quality/burned oil. Just look at the fries color. The worst fries Ive ever had in my entire life. Food
Warm beer, dry burger patty, oil soaked fries, expensive poutine, and poor service. Don t be fooled by the good reviews and photos of the foods posted online. Big waste of money.
Amazing service & awesome owners
Potato fries and poutine.
I had the La Montreal, Montreal smoked meat atop poutine with dill pickles and mustard, which meshed surprisingly well with the gravy and cheese curds. I would definitely get it again. If youre taking in a movie at the adjacent (30 paces away) Landmark Cinema its a great place to chow down beforehand.. Vegetarian options: My partner was quite happy with hers...
Good poutine.
Favorite spot for poutine!!!!
I ordered the The Squealer: pulled pork. A bit pricey for a small portion, but it s okay. Tasted good, but the barbecue sauce was a bit overwhelming for me. There were a lot of people, so I had to wait a bit for my order.
The entire restaurant had a great atmosphere, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I tried the vegetarian poutine, it was delicious and freshly made.
Ive been here since theyve opened years ago. It was really good when it was new, but over the years, some of my experiences here were not good. I went about 2 weeks ago, and had a subpar experience; Dirty tables, the fries were not crispy, (ordered the Jamba) lacked any distinguishable toppings as listed on ingredients and low in quantity. When someone finally came around to wipe the tables, they basically were making me feel shood out to do so. They had a snide smile on their face as I left. I decided to go back a couple of days ago as I was craving poutine and was in the area. Completely different experience! The place couldve been cleaner, but the fries were crispy, the box was packed to the brim with fries and everything tasted on point! Id ordered the night market in the past and didnt find the flavours melded as well, but this time around it tasted amazing and the toppings were generous! Id say its been mixed experiences throughout the years but my last experience was great.
Our first time back since Covid started and it was as good and maybe better than we remembered. We had our usual; the Effin Good Burger (Prime Rib Patty, Smoked Onion Mayo, BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Tomato Jam, Lettuce, Pickle and Monterey Jack Cheese) which came with their wonderful, freshly made Belgian style fries versus the mediocre frozen ones served at most places. At $15 it is amazing value for one of the best burgers we ve ever had, if not the best. With prices being as crazy as they are everywhere, I actually thought $15 was for just the burger and was going to order one of their great poutines on the side when a staff member reminded me that the burger came with fries. The staff were all friendly and helpful which just rounded out the experience. If you re looking for an excellent burger and fries, you won t be disappointed!
One of the best Poutines!! Try the Gaucho or the Butter Chicken Food
Been coming for about 5 years now and I feel the quality is going down.. I went just yesterday (previously went a few months ago too), and the past few times the poutine was room temp-maybe warm, didn t taste as good as a few years ago for sure. I hope they change this, especially as it s winter soon!
Best poutine in town!! I had the Jamba as I m gluten free and it was simply delicious!
I ve been here before many time and had always gotten the poutine which is always a 10/10 but today I decided to try something new and get fish n chips. Unfortunately it was not good at all. It was definitely fresh but the fish had to much oil that I could taste it very strongly during each bite and I could not continue eating it. Sucks cause I was really excited but I should ve just stick to my regular poutine. They refused to even make it again or refund me when I called. Will never be back to this place again.
Its nice that they have many vegan options
This place has the best fries I have eaten so far. Crispy, hot and the perfect amount of salt. The portion is huge and I love to pair with a creamy dill mayo dip. Yummy I highly recommend trying Spud Shack.
I am disabled and review places to help other disabled people know where they can go. This is a decent place located right by the skytrain. The bathroom was a little hard to access and had a ladder and some things kind of blocking the hallway. Please think of people with disabilities, and improve the accessibility of the washroom. A person in a wheelchair would not have been able to access the bathroom. The dining hall accessibility was good. Food was good too. I will be back soon because I loved the poutine, but please remove the ladder so its not blocking the door to the washroom.
Wonderful food!! Friendly service and quick service. Loved the Effin burger, super duper burger and The Squeeler poutine, We came in because one of the staff was just arriving to work and promoted how amazing the food is! And it is amazing. THANK U.
Super horrible customer service. Mixed up the food order and couldnt even listen to customer complaints. Totally unprofessional and terrible staff attitude.
The cowboy poutine was great
Way better than the overpriced small servings of poutine at Wok Box. This is our fave place for poutine.
Always tasty and they even have a Quinoa burger. Vegetarian options: Quinoa burger Food : 5/5 |
The staff are nice, the poutine and burgers are really good except for the kroket balls. The texture has a sticky goop like consistency and the flavor was mediocre at best. But other than that I would go there again.
Extremely friendly workers both on the phone and in person. Our favorite order is the squealer (pulled pork) poutine which I get maybe a little too often. Although I haven t tried much else besides the poutine, it s very well priced and you get a lot of food for the price. I recommended a medium poutine for a hungry couple.
I have tried almost everything and its sooo good. Not so healthy but made with love.
Good service/atmosphere... Food was bland
Must try Poutine in metro Vancouver!!! It s so good I d travel cross country for it! Everything is made in house and absolutely dialed in. If you think you ve had good poutine and you haven t eaten here then you enter reconsider what you think know! Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options.
Good poutine. I would eat in so your fries stay the crispiest. Got the pulled pork small size
Great place. The atmosphere is super casual, but the poutine here is definitely top-notch.
Very good burgers and fries and really nice staff. Love this place.
Great customer service, food was great and I was happy to have Vegan options. Thank you.
Date: June 6, 2019 Server: Carly S Total: $13.13 Our partys choice of lunch spot for VRGE 2019. I got the BIG V in medium size. I would say medium size is perfect for me, I wouldnt go much larger than that. Poutine was great quality. A good variety of fix-ins to choose from; I can easily recommend this small shop if youre craving poutine! Vegetarian options: The Original and Big V are the only vegetarian options. Parking: Paid parkade right below the skytrain station complex.
The food is amazing and has become my go to for poutine. The one drawback is that they play the music too loudly I cant hear my own music from my headphones, or it takes me out of the audio book Im listening to. I imagine conversations are a little difficult to maintain. Otherwise, very great place for a poutine!
Great location at the New Westminster sky Train station. The food is always amazing, they have the best fries and for sure the best poutine.
A few of my friends mentioned how much they loved this place, so I had to stop by and try it when I had the chance~ The fries are served to you warm and delicious, and it had the perfect amount of cheese curds. I also loved the theme of the place! I wish I was able to get more pictures of it :)
My bf and I had a Night Market poutine today, its super good. Moreover, the guy w curly hair is so friendly and welcoming, he pronounced my name correctly haha. Great experience!
Delicious Poutine. Lots of gravy and cheese curds. We had the buffalo chicken, night market and the cowboy. Incredible depth of flavour and the fries had a great texture. Definitely recommend the poutine here.
The quality of their food is definitely not how it was a few years ago. Customer service is horrible. The manager/owner doesn t even acknowledge or greet their customers. Not even a hello, how s it going? How s the food? You know, that makes customers feel unwelcome including me. As a small business owner, you should know better. I definitely won t be back and won t recommend. There s plenty of other restaurants that serve better poutine and with better customer service.
I have been coming here as long as it has been in existence. Always great burgers and poutines. great service.
I liked the poutine but not really the burger, but it was good to try! People there were really friendly and seems like they are enjoying working there:)
Big poutine portions, they served quickly and provided good quality. 10 out of 10
Right by the sky train! Really good poutine, and burgers!. Fast service and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick easy stop to hangout
Went here to try the poutine. Was not disappointed, very delicious and big portions. The fries were right and crisp, the gravy had awesome flavour. Also tried the burger very tasty, fresh and juicy. I will definetly return here. It is at a great spot if your taking the skytrain.
I highly recommend any of their poutine that catches interest save The Night Market poutine. The Night Market beef is rather unpleasant. The poutine is excellent when fresh and travels as well as can be expected for poutine.
Amazing delicious food. Super filling poutine, filled to the rim with ingredients. Oinion rings were the best Ive ever had. Took away a star because we didnt get any dipping sauces with either of our deep fried pickles or onion rings and the description clearly states it comes with it.
Really love the poutine. Original ideas on tasty fries
The staff and manger are phenomenal, the food is tasty, fresh but still made in good time. Love it here!
I shared My pork sandwich and poutine order and still ended really full. Definetly Will come back to try other dishes!
Food was great, but Jesus, what an attitude from the young lady at the cash register! Felt unwelcome. We wont come back and definitely never refer to friends and family.
They have good poutines
Got wrong order in online order. Some staff picked up the phone calling me a liar and yelling at me with incredible attitude . She should be fired ! I called again (after she hand out on me ) and the other staff respectfully asked me politely to called Door Dash to fixed my order What a joke as a first experience .
Good portions, a medium is enough for two meals!
Good food, good portion and they had strongbow
A++ Poutine And the Effin good burguer lives up to its name!
Great service
Above average. If you need a light snack with a glass of beer,
Great burger , but the fries are the true star here
Got their original poutine, it was decent if a bit expensive for the quality and size. Fries were fresh, but became soggy quite quickly in the gravy. I would bet their less saucy poutines are better, but their original left a bit to be desired.
What can be said about Potatoes that hadnt been said before... Oh, they are amazing the moment fries are Poutine your mouth. Had a very basic poutine and loved it, I will visit often!
Absolutely delicious, fantastic service, and a lovely atmosphere.
First time - and its an amazing experience. Although somewhat pricey, the portions are generous, the regular sizes could be shared not to speak of larges! Got Baked potato and Cowboy and that was awesome and yummy (kudos for the alterations - removed cheese, which made our experience even better).
HIGHLY recommend this place, I was craving for some Poutine the other day and decided to hit up Spud shack since it was right outside the Skytrain station in New West. Now when people ask me where to get the BEST POUTINE in town I will know to tell them to hit up Spud Shack
Great little place, up the stairs from the sky train. It s a little expensive but you get what you pay for gourmet poutine.
Quality has gone downhill
The best poutines!
Spud Shack is so delicious. I go out of my way to visit the skytrain station to grab some poutine. Everyone of their variety of poutine types are packed with flavour and toppings. Options for everyone and large portions.
Food? Perfect! Atmosphere? Perfect! Service? Perfect! Everything about this experience was perfect.
Please have Monday Madness back
Great atmosphere! Perfect poutine, you can taste their passion in their food. Simply delicious. They remember their customers and make you feel so welcome! Yummy!
Absolutely ridiculous service here.
Delicious poutine right by the skytrain! A small can easily feed two people for a nice snack. Fries were nice and crispy and I appreciated the cheese curds! Quick and nice service as well. Plenty of seating and water station at the back.
Tasty food, poutine specialty so you cant go wrong. Convenient location at the station. Maybe a bit steep in price, coming from the US, fries are typically a cheap side...so dressed up fries seem like it should be be too much more. Still: The butter chicken poutine was a great twist, the classic was great too. Staff were super friendly and patient. Bathrooms and back area were a bit chaotic...but it is in a tight location.
Amazing Brazilian braised beef poutine, fish and chips good too
