Serving the best Silogs and Sans Rival in the Lower Mainland Vancouver British Columbia Phillipine's BEST SiLogs + Sans Rival For the uninitiated, silogs are the Filipino version of a typical Canadian breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. But here, replace those ingredients with a rice plate topped with meat of your choosing and eggs on top. Serving one of the most epic versions of Phillipine's Sans Rival Ube Flan Cake Mocha Cake. Filipino desserts, epic.
Called to have a bite before the long drive back to Abbotsford. First experience in a Filipino restaurant! Loved the new to me flavours! The desert cake was amazing Sansrival! Best cake I’ve ever tasted. Will come again!
We’ve been coming here for years, and every time we leave, we’re stuffed and satisfied. The food is fantastic—I’m always ordering the tapa and wings. Prices are super affordable, and it’s my top spot for authentic Filipino silog meals. Highly recommend, 10/10!
We visited around noon, and despite how crowded it was, the service was quick and efficient. The staff were so warm and welcoming. I'm currently 9 months pregnant, and while waiting, she offered me a free drink, which was really sweet. The food was fantastic—I especially loved the crispy pork belly. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Epic Grill Silogs was highly recommended from my friend in Texas so when we came to Vancouver we had to try it! We were not disappointed. We were greeted with the warmest welcome and felt like part of the family as soon as we entered. It was our first time trying Filipino food and it was delicious! They helped us know what was on the menu and what we’d like when we ordered. We came with our 2 sons 5 & 2 & they were so kind towards them. Thank you Epic for such an amazing experience we will be back!
2024-July. We were here before noon and got seated right away. Service was fast. The food was delicious. The servers were nice and polite. The price is good! Authentic Filipino breakfast! You should try it! Bon Appétit 😋
This is one of our favorite place!! We recently came by to bring my sister and my niece who is visiting in town. EpicSilog is me and my husband go-to for Authentic Filipino food in BC so my family must try it during their visit. The owner was really nice and approchable, we get to chitchat to found out that she and her family was from Winnipeg, MB as well. It was so nice seeing fellow Winnipegers. She gave us a sample of her Mango Mousse. She was thinking of adding it to their already delish menu list and ask us to send her a feedback. I wanted to send her my input on it but I didnt get her contact. Hopefully this will able to reach her? The Mango was so fresh and big chunks was a real bonus, which I am sure people will appreciate because I certainly did! The cake layer was soft and not dry at all, and the buttercream/ganache/creamcheese, not sure what the cream was made of, super delish! I found myself kept on scooping until its was just the empty cup left. It was not too sweet nor bland. A perfect taste of a great dessert. I see myself ordering this type of mouse if she ever decided to make one for orders 😍
Had a mediocre meal here. The pineapple-calamansi juice tasted like it came from a can and the dessert was overly sweet. The Silogs were just meh.
It's a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant serving the kind of food you want when you're completely hungover. Had the lechon (crispy pork belly) and chicken wing silog and was satisfied for under $20 plus tip. Would eat here again.
What a fantastic place to experience! This restaurant gives you that family gathering home cooked atmosphere.WOW amazing!
Wed never had Filipino breakfast before, but now I definitely want to again. Everything was so delicious!! The breakfasts come with eggs, garlic rice, and your choice of meat(s). I highly recommend the beef (Tap Silog). The lumpia and pork belly are also delicious, and the cake is amazing! Everyone is really friendly and made us feel really comfortable and welcome.
Very friendly and helpful in making choices. Everything explained as I did not know many items
I went here with Erreene and she ate one of everything. I told her to stop and she said no way Silo-G-unit
It was a great experience! The food was great and the people were so friendly and kind. The owner was so kind and even gave us a complimentary cake roll! Cake roll was so good! Will be coming back everytime
Great meal after sunday mass. If your craving for silog, this is the place. Food
Stopped by for a quick filipino breakfast before heading back to the Okanagan. The food is very comforting and the owner and staff are super welcoming and very friendly. Will definitely come back the next time we visit the coast. Truly a gem to find!
Fried rice has less garlic for Filipino style. I ordered pusit and it was not crispy. It was a bit tough. Their tapa and lechon kawali taste ordinary, nothing special. The sans rival is not good, it needs more butter. Service was good.
Saw couple of reviews saying their Canadian breakfast is not the best, but this is a Filipino Silog place, so.. For us, it passed the standard of what were looking for in a Filipino breakfast. Decent price for the amount of food. Some people are saying you can just cook these simple food at home. Yes you can. Stay at home then. We came on a busy Sunday. Lucky we went there when it just opened for the day, cause it got too busy that they had to close the place for a little while. Place is kinda old and ventilation is not the best, especially on a hot summer day. It can get a little warm inside. Food is made as you order so prepare to wait, reassures you that theyre made fresh. Their longanisa is not the chubby, sweet, red longanisa I was expecting but still pretty okay. The rest of the food was great. Refillable coffee. We got a free treat at the end of our meal too (free halo-halo). Overall pretty nice staff but theres just one lady who we would love to commend (super nice), but we didnt get a name. Will we come back? If we have private vehicle, yes. Locations not the easiest to get to when youre taking transit especially on Sundays where busses are rare. Kid-friendliness: Has high chairs. No specific kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: On ground level so wheelchair accessible but it will be hard to maneuver around inside.
Visited friends in CN for the weekend and we all decided to have brunch at this place. Very pleased with the service and accommodations as we had a very large party. Janno did a fantastic job taking our orders and keeping us informed while we waited for all of our party to arrive. While waiting for our tables to be set up Tita Dot surprised all of with a refreshing Kalamansi juice that we all enjoyed! We also enjoyed the delicious food and filled us up for our trip back to the states. Tita Dot and her staff also filled us with outstanding customer service, something that is hard to find these days in restaurant establishments! Bravo for taking good care of your customers. We will definitely be back and put the word out to come check this place out when you are in beautiful British Columbia Canada!
Been awhile since I had silog, and it was so nice to finally eat it again.
The ube sans rival, ube halaya with leche flan on top and the gulaman drink was the best! I also got the combo with bangus and lechon kawali. The garlic fried rice tasted old, bangus was good and the lechon kawali was quite hard to chew. The service was good, friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere feels like home!
My family and I recently ate at Epic Grill Silogs. We were visiting from California and wanted silogs for breakfast. We were fortunate enough to find this restaurant. The food was very delicious. The owner Dorothy was extremely nice, kind and very funny. She really made us feel welcomed. We met a regular at the restaurant name Fatima. She was very helpful and very kind also. She helped answer some of the questions we had about the menu since she was sittingclose by. You cant beat the value and quality of the food, the cute atmosphere of the restaurant and the kindness that they show to new comers and regulars alike. Dorothy was a pastry chef in the Philippines and her husband was a chef at a major hotel. You need to try their desserts after enjoying your silos. You wont regret it. Their food is worth the calories. We will definitely be coming back when were back in Canada.
Someone recommended me to try this place out so me and the wife went for lunch. It was honestly so good. If you re looking for some good Philippino food this is your spot. Defs gna be back.
Food was really good! Lots of flavor. Service and staff was great! Will recommended to friends to come visit.
Decent food. Average space. Got the tapsilog with longganisa. The meat was fine it reminds you of the local tapahan back home that s average at best. Fried rice was probably the worst offender with bits of undercooked rice. Eggs was ok. Never get the coffee. Solid 2.5.
Tried the leche flan/ube cake dessert. It was really good. Shared some with friends from work and they enjoyed it as well.
Ordered the original sansrival cake (sorry, no pictures as we were excited to eat it!). This is always a huge hit with my family. Would highly recommend!
It was amazing! The food was amazing and very authentic. Though it was busy, the patience was worth the time and money!
so yummy and portions are so big. Their sago at gulaman is rly good and authentixc. Rly good cakes too!
Amazing food amazing service. Milk fish is to die for. We only use their home made hot sauce, and have gotten so many people to also fall in love with it. 10000% would recommend.
Delicious food and good service! Staffs were nice and kind.
THE BEST!!!!!
Love this place, food was fantastic and the staff are so kind. Will definitely be back. Salamat po!
Let me begin by expressing how this family-run gem has become my ultimate destination for indulging in Filipino breakfast and brunch. Each dish is prepared to order, ensuring that every bite bursts with freshness upon arrival at the table. My go-to is always Combo 2, a delightful ensemble featuring three savory meats, fragrant garlic fried rice, a pair of perfectly cooked eggs, and accompanied by tantalizing dipping sauces, often vinegar and sweet chili. Among the array of flavors, I find myself particularly drawn to their Biya, Lumpia, and Corned Beef. Every visit to this establishment evokes a nostalgic sense of home that I cherish deeply. And lets not forget about their heavenly cakes! The ube cake crowned with luscious leche flan is an unrivaled favorite of mine, a sweet indulgence that never fails to captivate my taste buds. Beyond the culinary delights, what truly sets this place apart is the warm and welcoming atmosphere fostered by genuine interactions. Its a comforting escape, a hidden treasure that I am immensely grateful exists within the vicinity. I often bring along my friends and family to share in the joyous experience, making each visit even more memorable.
Thank you for the wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended . Chef Juan carlo will not fail.
Epic grill or epic fail? Hole in the wall atmosphere, simple decor smells like home. The only fail is the food, not as delicious as expected the beef tapa lacked in a lot of flavor. The fried rice (garlic rice) did not have a deep taste in garlic. The fun part was the crispy rice bits mixed onto the rice which gave it texture. The crispy sole fish was good we liked the thinness and right saltiness. The salty sweet balance was okay, it just lacked a lot of flavor and didn t have any special twist to it. The dishes is something you can make at home. The fried bangus was very fishy in taste, very salty and sour and tasted soggy, it was horrible. The owners are friendly, they just need to amp their dishes then everything would be perfect. The owner wanted us to sample a new cake dessert, it was just awfully sweet. Yes, we know filipinos love sweet, but this was scary sweet. And there was no flavor at all. the sweetness overpowered the taste of the cake. It didn t need a lot of random layers that gave more sugar. It was not delicious. Overall , this place is not worth the visit unless they revamp their menu and make it even better. This has a lot of potential if thats what they want to do in the nearest future . Everyone can have an opinion but take this as a constructive criticism to help our filipino community. cheers and good-luck. Parking: Location is centered in many town homes, so parking is not hard to find. Very peaceful neighborhood .
One of my all time favorite places, customer service is amazing and the food always hits the spot.
Shhhhh don t tell anyone keep it a quiet secret this place is home tradition style .mmmm delicious and the silog specialty sauce is perfect hot
Food was good.
I was visiting from Calgary and my girlfriend brought me to this place for lunch and boy was I glad that she suggested this place! I tried the Tinapang Galunggong Silog and it was excellent! Haven t had that in a very long time and the taste just brought memories of a classic home cooked meal back in the motherland! Nice friendly staff too! I will definitely be back to this place whenever I m in the Westminster area to try all the other Silogs on the menu!
Ive been to this restaurant over the years and Ive never been disappointed. The food is definitely worth the wait as they dont take reservations. Ive tasted pretty much all the silogs on the menu, but my go to is the Combo 1 of the lechon and the corn beef silog with a side of biya. This weekend I went twice, yesterday and today). They recognized me and I was welcomed and immediately felt at home. I listened all around me to the other patrons while I sat at the counter enjoying my brunch. Everyone was being treated with kindness and familiarity. This is how a family restaurant should run. Each time I looked at the entrance, there was a line up. This, the food, and the atmosphere are reasons I will continue to come back. Well, full disclosure, they did make me something special (not on the menu) and because of this, I stand behind my 5 star rating of this hidden gem of a restaurant. As a Filipino foodie, Ive been burned and disappointed by other Filipino restaurants. I dont think my standards are so high so as to be easily turned off. So other restaurant owners, take note of this restaurant. They have the formula down. Just visit on a Sunday after Mass and you will see for yourself. Thank you Epic Silog for allowing me to be a part of your family this Family Day weekend . Ill most certainly be back.
Delishious food and very friendly staff. We are regular customers now.
EPIC GRILL never fails. Their food is really good if you re looking for Filipino breakfast :) the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is comforting. I ve tried a lot of their dishes and I only have good things to say about all of them.
Have been to this restaurant many times, always great food, however the service was very disappointing. They advertise business hours as open until 2 PM, however after a long drive there, when we arrived at 1:30 they refuse to seat us...obviously they are more concerned about getting home than serving repeat customer....
Great selection of Silog, large servings, tasty, and delicious desserts. Awesome service from Jano. Downside: may be a wait for a table, sometimes parking - but not enough to not done here.
Top notch filipino food. If you re anywhere near Vancouver area, make the drive for this place! Service is good ol filipino high-level hospitality. Menu seems expansive, but truly simple and revolves around classic filipino bfast staples. I had the combo tapa and lechon, sobra sarap! I m seattle-base, I d rather drive up here than wait at jollibee lines! For Seattle folks, this is as good as the legendary Ludi s that you re missing in downtown Seattle.
The food was really good! We came in at around 1:15PM, and I ordered a combo 1 with longanisa, bangus and scrambled egg with tomato and onion for me and my daughter. My daughter loved the combo, especially the bangus (she wanted more after we were done)! The classic cashew sans rival was just the right amount of sweet and tasted like ice cream! Service was very friendly, Tita Dot and Janno were very friendly and helpful! The food came out quickly too! We will definitely come back when we visit Canada again!
Great food and service
This is an amazing gem of a place! First time trying Filipino food, and couldnt have had a better experience here. Small, intimate cafe with helpful and friendly service. Menu options were really clear for eaters unfamiliar with the cuisine (garlic rice + two eggs + choice of one/two/three proteins). Everyone we interacted with was warm, friendly, and joyful; everyone working seemed genuinely happy to be here. Its obvious this place takes a lot of pride in the food and service they provide. Finished the meal with a slice of Sans Rival cake that was OUTSTANDING. Will be back to try other silog combos and every cake flavor they offer. Highly HIGHLY recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, and also for high quality dessert. (Was informed that whole cakes can be ordered ahead of time, many different varieties, and will definitely be taking them up on that offer, because holy wow theyre great!) Cant wait to return. Thank you for a great experience!!!
The food here cheered me up! I really loved the service. Both me and my wife had beef tapa, but i had extra lechon. Coffee was served fresh, and tita, who served us, said that if we didnt get refills, wed pay extra for the coffee. she was being facetious. I love her sense of humour.
The owner is so sweet, funny and personable. The food is delicious! It does get busy here so be prepared to line up.
Everything on the menu is delicious especially the Cakes and desserts. Very friendly atmosphere. My experience there is always great!
This place needs a good clean up and scrubbing. Not really Epic. The food is ordinary by Filipino standard. If you long to eat food from the old country, you must go somewhere else or buy the raw materials and make it yourself at home. The price of food does not compensate the comfort of avoiding home cooked meals. There is nothing epic. Define epic and it does not meet the standard. Someone commented that the place should be inspected by health officer. Yes, I agree.
Very disappointed with this place. Waited for 45 mins before leaving after we were told it would take up to 20 minutes to get us seated. People were seating without food for like 20 mins, so it looked ridiculous. Full restaurant of people without food. They should be open about the wait times with the customers. There is nothing wrong with admitting that your place doesn t run efficiently and wait times are long. I haven t tried their food, but wouldn t recommend if there is a line
Excellent food and service!
Superb Filipino dining experience
Went to this restaurant today, we waited almost an hour to be seated when we were told it would only be 15-20 mins wait. We never got our seats, but the people we were ahead of did. I didn t get a call or anything even after we left the place. The lady at the counter wrote down my name and phone number on the waiting list, so I m not sure how we were missed. At the time, there was this guy in grey wind braker and a hat, looks like the manager, we spoke to him at first, asked if we got our name listed, he confirmed and told us we will get the bar when it opens. Basically he knows we exist. Unfortunately, due to slow service and bad customer service we weren t able to experience the Epic food . It wouldn t be reasonable to wait for another 20 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes waiting for the food to arrive. We would be spending the entire day just waiting. Hopefully it s better service next time we come back.
Great Food!
The food was amazing! I could eat here everyday. Also the workers are so kind and friendly.
Generous servings and reasonably priced! I got the Tinapa + Tapa Silog (smoked fish/tinapa) which is a rare dish I havent seen any other Filipino restaurants serve so I was very excited to see it on the menu. For dessert we had UbeLeche flan cake. The rich and sweet flavours of the leche flan was perfectly balanced by the ube sponge cake layered at the bottom. This place is quite popular so it is recommended to be there before 10am before it gets busy. Wheelchair accessibility: Location is on the ground floor and there is plenty of space in the restaurant to accommodate a wheelchair. A server comes to serve you when you dine in so you do not have to come to the counter to order unless it is takeout.
great customer service, the food and desserts are amazing
Silog lovers place where you can find a wide variety of silogs. The best silogs ever! Sorry forgot to take pictures
Craving for Filipino breakfast??? Best place to go to, typical filipino breakfast but the service is superb, staff are so friendly. Loved coming back to this place.
Came last Sunday, got a table within 5 minutes, but the wait for the food was so long, over 45 minutes. Maybe, hire more cooks or something needs to be done about the wait. I must say, the servers were very nice and the owner was apologetic. Maybe, next time will come back on a weekday. BUT, the wait was worth it, because they serve the BEST EVER, pistachio sans rival cake!!!! Its to die for!!!! Full of pistachio, not too sweet and very tasty. Ive been bragging to all my families and coworkers about it...Will be ordering the whole cake for mothers day!!!
I don t usually do reviews, but this place is just exceptional! The food is good, owner is very friendly, servers are kind, the ambiance is just perfect! Love this place!
Great customer service, friendly staff and owner. The food is just okay, can be improved especially the fried rice, they need to add more garlic lol. The waiting for food was a bit long but they always informed their customers and its on their menu board so thats expected.
First time eating here and did not disappoint. Food was really good. I ordered the traditional TapSilog. Brings me back home. The owners are so friendly. Must try when in Vancouver.
First time back after the pandemic and somehow the food is not as good as it was back then. The garlic rice is stale and the crispy pata serving is quite little for its price. I do recommend the Ube shake tho. Overall, I dont see myself coming back for a while.
Cute and amazing little family ran authentic-style Filipino restaurant! Finally discovered this place, after living in Queensborough for 10+ years ..and sad I didnt discover it earlier, Hehe Everything here was freshly made, delicious and everything that I expected from this little shop! Ive been to the Philippines before, and the very is very much up to par The staff is super friendly and warm-welcoming, upon entering their restaurant. Beware of the $10,000 coffee, if you dont get a refill scam - you dont want to leave with a hefty bill LOL
First off, you need to understand why my review is a 5 star all around. Being from Hawai i and eating and loving the foods from the island, I have been off island for almost 8 years now and tried many places that sell supposedly Hawaiian Food . Hawaiian good food that the locals actually eat is this. Filipino food is a huge influence in the islands and this place was introduced to us by a local who knows her stuff. So let s get down to the food. The food is authentically Filipino style and taste. Get the 3 combo meat and eggs. Corned beef, longanisa (sausage for those who don t know), and the classic lechon! It comes with garlic fried rice, order your eggs Sunny side. Now that it is out, bust that yolk up, mix in the vinegar fish sauce a bit with your spoon, then dip your meat of choice into the mang thomas sauce. It s brown if you don t know. Mix it up and if you like spice like me, and believe me you should try at least one bite. Their house spice sauce. Your welcome Aloha Fam
This establishment is named appropriately! The staff are friendly, the whole atmosphere is welcoming and food is... EPIC! Salamat po!
Awesome place for breakfast keep up good food n prices Dorothy we will continue to dine there
It was an epic breakfast to say the least. I got 3 proteins which would be enough food for 2 meals but could not stop eating til everything was gone.
Great service, food tasted very delicious, lots of flavour to the silogs and good variety of meat to choose
3 years ago since I started ordering birthday cakes and custom cakes from epic grill. My Italian family who dont like sweet cakes really loved every cake that Dorothy make for us. Pati mga guest they all have the same compliment, masarap ang cake. Now it becomes a tradition na every birthday party ng grand kids they always expect me to order from Dorothy. Dorothy put so much effort, Hindi dahil customer ka, kundi dahil she wanted to make sure matutuwa ka sa design ng cake and of course the cake itself na masarap. Just give her the desired design and expect na Mas maganda pa gagawin nya sa design na gusto mo. Kaya kahit Ang adults, guests and specially the kids Ay wow na wow sa ganda at sarap ng cake. I highly recommend if you need a cake for your party specially for your kids....order from Epic grill, the best decision youll ever make when it comes to custom cakes. Thank you Dorothy.
They left a note stating not to park outside the restaurant even though it s public parking. The while block smells horrible, customer service is a joke they only cater to Philippines and are rude to others .Decent food, long line ups. Make sure to put your name in for a larger group. Its made to order so be ready to wait over 30+ mins on food/drink(milkshakes).
My go to silog place! Sulittttt
Every thing we ordered hits like home The long wait was very much worth it because the portions and taste are perfect. I ordered combo 2 with tocino, tapa, and corned beef but I will definitely come back to try their lechon kawali. Maraming salamat po!
Enjoyed their Silog, sansrival and always love their coffee
Food was delicious and service even better. Definitely would recommend
Amazing food and service! This was my first time having a Filipino brunch and it was absolutely delicious and filling. Ill definitely be returning!
This place has been on our bucket list for a while as it s been one of the few places in BC that serves a classic Filipino breakfast. Unfortunately we didn t have the greatest experience. Staff was great, welcoming, and friendly. All the food was brought out in a timely manner. The portion of the experience that had not been the greatest unfortunately was the food itself. We ordered their classic items on the menu which included the standard fried rice, eggs, and main dish of choice. When we received our meal we dug straight into it. Long story short the rice we received had a foul stench, a overly wet texture, and was clearly old/beginning to rot. We gave the food the benefit of the doubt but as it is a mom and pop shop but we couldn t deny the state of the rice after the second bite. We immediately alerted the staff in a quite matter as to not alert other customers as this was a small business and mistakes happen. The staff immediately told one of the managers and they offered to switch out the rice. They gave us new rice and we put the old rice on to a new plate. The part of the experience that lead us to the conclusion that we wouldn t be giving this place a second chance was the handling after the situation. We didn t receive any apology from any staff or manager and the manager went on defence after we made our claim without checking the food/giving the benefit of the doubt. Once again we understand that mistakes happen especially in a business but not apologizing leaves a a bitter taste in someone s mouth. We regretted coming here and would have rather cooked at home (as every Filipino parent says). For those wanting to try for the first time and have never tried this type of food I hope this doesn t defer you from trying and we sincerely hope the business has learned from this experience.
The ambiance of the store was ok. However, the tapa was very salty and had no taste. We barely eat the tapsilog because its salty even if we pour vinegar on the meat still salty. The service was poor, we raised our hands to be notice for too long but it felt like they avoiding our gaze.
We celebrated the birthday of our beloved beshfriend!!! They gave us a free cake to celebrate!!! Thank you!!
One of the highlights of living in Queensborough! Awesome food and great staff!
Good filipino food.
Super delicious food. Excellent service from the moment we walked in the door. Definitely going back.
watch out for re-heated stocked foods! went there with non-filipino friends wanting to promote it and the foods were okay, but the last ime I went there with my family, I got an irritable bowel movement for two days... dont think be going there again...
I really love going to this place Ate and kuya are like family. Its a place like home. Freshly cooked meals and always a fresh pot of coffee. Very friendly staff and good and best silog in Vancouver.
First time for this type of food, very tasty.
Great family owned restaurant with authentic silogs that are full of favour with a great value
Beef tapa combo was good but hated the rice taste dry and old. Tocilog is ok not sweet again with a combo rice is bad. Longsilog is ok skinless and small so not enough for me again with rice is bad. Corned beef is good not oily but again it s a combo so rice is no good. Everyone wears mask except the old guy making the food that you can see from waiting area. PLEASE WEAR A MASK WHEN MAKING THE FOOD!
Closed on Saturdays without warning. Update your hours so people dont waste gas.
Just moved nearby and had never heard of phillipino breakfast before so decided to give it a try, and it was delicious. I would highly recommend.
Great food!!!
First time we came here to celebrate Family Day in advance and my kids really loved it and said they can come over and over and will not get tired of their silogs. The sago gulaman was a hit and my teen son even said that it brought back memories of Pinas. We will definitely see you again....
A goto restaurant whenever my family and I are in town. The best Silog in BC!!!!!
Crispy pata not crispy enough
Extremely slow service. Waited at least 45 minutes for our food to arrive, food is very expensive and small servings might as well cook at home. Pork belly was just seasoned with salt. Lumpiang Shanghai not even good. Don t waste your time and money in this place. The only positive i can say during our visit was the owner and the guy server was attentive.
This place serves real ube halaya flan. The sweetness is just right.I love how you can even feel the real ube bits in the halaya. The staff are friendly and attentive not to mention the food and the service is really good.Highly recommended.
Always tasty, more types of proteins, more flavorful desserts.
Always get good service and the food is always great. Reminds me of what I ate back home when I was a child. Best silog place around.
We always come here after shift once in a while and the owner and staffs are all very welcoming and polite. We also place our order for pick up most of the time and the staff who answers and takes the order is just so easy to talk to and very respectful.
Good breakfast
Traditional Filipino breakfast place. Meat lovers must go.
Always a great time at Epic Grill with my family! I always get the same thing (lechon kawali, tapa with garlic fried rice). This picture was taken the last time we were there (March 20th). Yummy food and great service!
Best place to have those Silogs! Definitely recommend this restaurant to any one craving for Filipino dishes.
Its definitely delicious. I went back more than once. I love the beef jerky silog. The meals are a bit pricey, compared the portion size nevertheless I would still go again for this protein rich meal!
Delicious silogs, the staff is very friendly with quick service, and the desserts are just as tasty. Definitely a must try if youre in the area!
I ordered the two item combo with lechon and lumpia. My husband ordered the three item combo with lechon, lumpia and longanisa. When they came, we were surprised that they gave less of each meat in the three combo. You just pay more for variety but you get less of everything. That was very misleading. I had 5 lumpia, he had 4. I had 13 pieces lechon, he had 7. He had 3 tiny thin pieces of longanisa. His combo is $4 more than mine. Combo 2 (three item) is definitely not worth paying more for an extra item but taking away some of the other two. The lechon is ok. Some pieces had tough and not crispy skin. The lumpia is good and they give you plenty of sauce. The longanisa is not flavorful and way too tiny.
Ive been going down the menu trying all the silogs and nothing disappoints! Their drinks/desserts are really good too. Just like any brunch places there can be a bit of wait on weekends but its definitely worth a visit.
A terrific place to go with the people you love, whether its to eat familiar favourites or introduce a beginner to all the Filipino staples. Grab a kalamansi juice to refresh yourself or cut through the post-pata coma. Warm, friendly, bilingual service. Great selection. If youre not feeling the usual noise of a Filipino dining room, go after 1 and there will be several 4-tops available. Best bangus in the city, hands down. Ive taken half a dozen beginners to Epic Grill Silogs and every single one tried something completely new to them and went home completely satisfied. Even fussy eaters will find their mouths too full of garlic rice to complain.
Perfect Filipino brunch served in a family-run restaurant in New West. Eggs, garlic rice and your choice of meats and fish make for a satisfying meal. Dessert also offered as a bonus.
Love this hidden gem in Queensborough! Definitely a must try especially their UBE FLAN.
Its Filipino food so expect rice! It is going to be a heavy meal so I recommend going for brunch or lunch. Its pretty busy when we went there but the service was great still. Generous serving and good value. Its the kind of place where you eat and go as it does get packed and can have quite a line waiting outside. For safe food options, aside from the obvious ones like bacon and spam, I recommend lechon, tapa and tocino (on the sweeter side but tastes great with their vinegar or hot sauce). Parking can be a hassle if you go at a busy time since its in a residential area.
Jane was excellent great food
First timer....had the mango milkshake ....so good
There s a balance between customer service and food being served. I admit that I didn t dine the first year this place opened because having dined in so many restaurants from home, most times it seems I paid more than it was worth. But the cravings of authentic food from back home will win over at certain times. Step into this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised by the rustic originality that felt like back home without being ostentatious, smoothly injecting a bit of the Canadian way, warm and inviting. My husband s best buddy had insisted we try out the place since we lived a few blocks away. We ordered the Epic Silog Lechon, over easy sunny side up and coffee, the portions seemed like it was one cup rice (fried). To my husband, that wasn t enough, lol, surprisingly it was filling. The lechon was tasteful and skin crispy, the eggs the way we liked them, the rice nice and fluffy, Bingo! It was home sweet home! We also ordered take out for our boys and they had the Epic Burger (discontinued) a fave of theirs homemade patties and whatever the add on it s bursting with flavors in your mouth, the strawberry milkshake in a generous cup of creamy and rich shake with swirly design (art), we couldn t resist but ordered the Sans Rival and Ube Lecheflan cake, what a treat! It felt like Christmas that day, like being back home and more so because most of their ingredients are made in house by hand so the taste is genuinely Pinoy flavors. What makes it a fave of ours isn t just the food but the service that balances the business that I think makes this restaurant a hit. When you have friendly and attentive hosts (owners) who are about making the dining experience an exceptional one, you can t help but keep going back for more:)
It s easy to miss this Filipino family owned restaurant in Queensborough, but this is great place to have Filipino brunch and often gets busy on the weekends. Definitely would recommend for silogs they have every kind at a reasonable price. You can make it a combo and add different meats if one isn t enough. I do however think there is a lot more rice than necessary. I would like to try their desserts next time or shakes.
Service is slow.went in.wasnt busy.i understand food takes time to cook.shouldnt take an hour.they dont ask if you need a refill on drinks.they dont serve white people.heard from a family member they dont serve white food.asked them to leave.saw her brew the coffee grounds twice.if you leave a bad review there very rude. If you live around here you can t park in front of their establishment. They will leave a note in the car. Even though they don t own it.
Epic Silog is a Filipino brunch restaurant that everyone should try. Although I live in Vancouver, I definitely make the trip to eat their Lechonsilog (Pork Belly). Their portion sizes are on point (not too much and not too little). For the times ive visited, staff member, Tita Dorthy, always makes sure you dont leave the restaurant without her smile. Would recommend you check it out.
Good Filipino food. Im keep coming back on this restaurant. Food are realy simple and amazing. Kid-friendliness: Candy for kids
Good food and service. Don t skip the deserts!
Really great Filipino restaurant! Servers were friendly and patient in answering questions. They gave great food recommendations after learning about our taste preference. Drink was excellent and I finished them so fast.
The best food you could find. Their Silogs are the best. A Perfect taste and the best customer service as well !
Amazing food and even better service
My boyfriend and I are now regulars at this place. Great food and great staff!
Unfortunately not a good experience this time. The food is good, the service is friendly but the wait for food was unacceptably long. Waited 45 mins (generous timing) after ordering. There was a huge take out order that went out that caused a delay but it could have been handled more effectively. Drinks were comped due to the delay. Will wait a while before and if we go back.
The best Filipino silog! We ate here with my Taiwanese boss. He brought me here to try my favorite dried pusit since its my birthday . Staff are very accommodating and friendly most all the food is really good! My boss thump up with their crispy pata.
I love this place.... did is great...
Unique restaurant. Glad I tried it.
The food is always good, taste like home. But the best part is their service, they re very attentive and welcoming
It s good could be a bit better service and cleaner but nice people and good food so yeah haha. The cakes are soo good and I recommend the cashew and pistachio!
Great food, great place. I love their silogs and cakes. I hope they offer delivery soon on UberEats
Amazing food with sizeable portions. Having the combo option is a huge bonus. Definitely worth the drive out.
Today I had the best milkshake of my life. I ordered the salted caramel and ube flavours. Perfectly creamy, sweet, thick, and had delicious chunks. Im going back again.
Guys you need to eat here. Food is always EPIC. friendly staff. At the current moment they are only takeout NO DINE IN due to covid.
Incredible hidden gem! Food is made fresh when ordered and the silogs ARE! INCREDIBLE! Its too bad the dine in was closed due covid but the place reminds of dive-dinners in Hawaii (tacky-chic). Pro-tip, theres an awesome park metres away that has tables and a open field (perfect for an impromptu picnic). ~ Highly recommend this place. Also their San Rival is
Named appropriately.. the silogs are EPIC! Calling all filipinos and fans of great food in general! Called for pick up and ate at the park just down the street. We ordered, tocilog, combo one (tapa and lumpia), combo two (pork chop, lechon, and biya), and sansrival. Everything was delish, just like your lola made it for you. The only thing I could fault was the price, it was more on the $$$ side. But I get it, do what you gotta do. It is worth the cost. Def come by and try for yourself.
Awesome service,great food
10/10 would recommend the Ube milkshake. You get all the halaya goodness in every sip!
Epic meal! They are only doing take out for now due to restrictions. Very easy to order on their online system. Owners were nice! It got busy during the lunch rush but they were efficient!
Went here for brunch a couple weeks ago and had to come back last Saturday to fill the silog cravings. I wish their dine in waa open but, one of the guys said theyre hoping theyll open back up for dine in on September. Either way their silogs are going to fill up your needs. Lots of options for your meats. The garlic rice is thoroughly garlicd and matched with some sunny side up eggs, makes for an awesome combo. My sisters faves is the bangusilog, tocilog, and corn silog. The place is a bit out of the way from other restaurants but, if youre looking for some great Filipino silogs, this is one of the places to go. One thing to note though, their longsilog is not the original long ganisa and its more of a sweet sausage type. Nothing against the sweet sausage but, definitely prefer the original.
Tasty food, fast service, and really kind staff! You can tell that they really care about their food.
Amazing homemade food made/served by very kind staff
pretty EPICCCCCCCC
Absolutely LOVED this place, The tapsilog was the best I have ever tried! Staff was extremely friendly, If i could rate this 10 star restaurant I would! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Why is it not open for dine?all are open for dine -in except them.hope they will do the same like other restaurants.
This place was pretty good. I got the longanisa/tosilog and the portion was quite big. I was surprised by their longanisa. It isn t the traditional longanisa. It reminded me of normal sweet English breakfast sausages. Overall, breakfast here is good but I ve had better.
Second time ordering from this place. Tapa silog is my favourite and flan is delicious!
Amazing food! Smells great once you walk in and they gave us two free Filipino lemonade drinks to try, it was a nice surprise. Great deal on the 2/3 meat combo, and they pay attention to taste details. It s worth my 20-25 minute drive from home just so I know I m going to be eating food that s guaranteed going to be good! You guys deserve to have lines out of the store, I wish you more business!
Nice place with great food
Epic Grill Silogs is a fabulous restaurant. The food is made fresh and with amazing flavour. The restaurant portion is closed for now with the Pandemic, but their take out is fast (approx.7-10 mins). There are many choices for their Silogs and their two combos (2 or 3 choices) are great to try different Filipino items. This is a family run restaurant! The husband and wife are such a lovely couple and their children are actively involved. They take pride in their business and I love coming back. There are lots of good reviews with very good pictures, but you have to go there to appreciate the Epic flavour and dont forget to order some sans rival!
What can I say....awesome place!, warm and very pleasant athmosphere, friendly owners and staff, excellent service, good food and Filipino vibes all around...definitely missing home! A definite recommend for food enthusiasts who wants to try authentic Filipino silogs.
Unreal service and food! Deffs recommend this place!
Great food and service! Must try!
This is located in a quiet neighborhood and their interior design is very quaint and I love it. They open earlier than any other restaurants too so its a perfect place to help yourselves with their hearty servings of Filipino breakfast silogs as an early start of your day. They serve free refill for your coffee and even offered me a fresh cup to go with. The servers are very nice and pleasant. The food tasted great. So I am gonna keep coming back for sure.
Regular silogs with tosilog sans rival pistachio (really like it
Reminds me of home. Worth the drive.
Epic Grill Silogs is our go-to breakfast/brunch! Service and staff were nice!
First time here, it was great food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
Whatever combination i choose, its akways delicious and so good!!! Highly recommended if youre craving filipino food. Thanks epic grill!!!
Wow epic ang lasa.Super satisfying, it reminds me of my home town.Good size portion.Friendly staff and owner.
Food is amazing and reminds me of my moms cooking. Service is excellent and the staff are all so nice, we will come back again for desserts and more silogs.
Love it here! They have the best silogs in the lower mainland. So tasty! Staff is nice and friendly as well. Highly recommend!!
It s an interesting Philippine brunch venue. The neighborhood was quiet and not busy, so the street parking was not a problem. The room was neat and clean and the layout of the tables look like a community dining cafe, making me feel cozy when I stepped in. The server suggested the pork belly and the marinated beef, as these two are the most commonly served brunch for local Philippine people. I personally appreciated the crispy pork belly better, as the beef was tasted sweet a bit. The main was rice. More vegetables would be better and healthier. In general, it was a little heavy as the first meal of the day. Since it s brunch, I don t think it s a big deal.
So glad theres a Filipino restaurant so close by. Great place to grab a quick breakfast plus friendly staff. Lechon + tapsilog! What else is there to say?
Rice toppings at its fiinest. Parking is hard on busy days and you have to find an empty spot near the establishment and walk to the restaurant right after.
Great Mom and Pop place. Worth the wait.
The tapsilog is so good and the palamig with gulaman and sago is good also.
Oh I really miss this place. Hopefully it opens soon. Staff are cordial, very hospitable, and the food is always great.
Food is soo good!! Would have taken a pic but I ate it all!
Delicious beef and pork slices, 2 over easy eggs on top of rice, combo #1 beef and pork silogs.
Epic grill silogs is a filipino breakfast spot that is nothing special. The food is decent, but is overpriced and nothing to rave about in comparison to other Filipino restaurants, but where the 2 stars comes from is their service. Service felt very inconsistent both times I went here where servers werent always present for customers. However, the one conssitensy you can rely on is waiting upwards to an hour for your food and in that same time or less you can make the food they serve you. I think that in order to grow, Epic Grill Silogs needs to reflect and improve upon their efficiency. In short, Epic Grill Silogs is a overpriced Filipino breakfast spot with inconsistent service and a much needed improvement in efficiency.
waited 1 hour for bland food, dirty hallway walking towards washroom, wait time is awful. From reading past reviews, I am fully expecting an arrogant, pompous response to my review. It seems the owner does not take criticism very well. 2019-08-30 Thank you for proving my original review correct. How hard is it to take the criticism and make things better?
Went for breakfast and tried the benny only because I wasn t that hungry, but it was pretty good. Not the usual poached eggs you find at other restaurants, but it tasted good. Hash brown was decent too. Fair price and good service! It was my first time there, the server gave me some suggestions on what are their signature dishes, would like to go back to try next time.
This place is a treasure. Soooooooo good.
Went here for lunch and ordered the lechonsilog. Portion size is just right and received great service!
Disastrous,
Expected them to be open during thanks giving due to them putting open, but hours may differ in their hours. So we came at 11 am and the restaurant is closed. No edits that they re closed or anything.
I love this place, especially the delicious bangus. Nice service and good coffee. Very good for Pilipino breakfast.
This restaurant has the worst customer service. Dont try to come an hr before closing because they close early without warning and wont even pick up the phone when your calling to see if there open.
Diner style Filipino food with a variety of traditional style meats. Have the options of Canadian breakfast and Silog Combos. We came here after everyone raves about it as well as family living close by. Unfortunately our rice was over cooked and over fried to the point that they were hard and crunchy. Not the nice texture to be chewing on and rice constantly getting stuck in your teeth. Overall was an average experience and nothing memorable. Maybe it was just an off day when we went
The servers were funny and nice! Good filipino food and drink that they make!
Good food, fair price...the place is a bit small and may need to be a little bit more organized...the bathroom is slippery.
Great place for home made breakfast just got introduced to this place 2nd time it is now the go to break fast place to go to
Was here one Saturday morning. Dont know where to start. Waited for an hour to get a seat and noticed it was not actually busy, the turn-over was just crazily slow thats why people are lining upto the door while most of the tables are empty. Took 20mins to place our orders, over 40 mins for the food to arrive. The garlic fried rice is lacking of garlic and the bangus was too sour, both came are very oily. I expected a home-like experience, but actually disappointing. Paying the bill was taking forever. It was a time-vampire experience for a bangusilog plate, not again.
Want a filipino-style home cooked meal?! Then get over here! Obviously a busy place to be at times but worth the wait!!
Definitely one of the better Filipino joints in the city. Casual, diner style. The meats and sauces are great. Their house made hot sauce is fire and their ube cake is good. Their flan is Ok. Love the personality here
