The service is really nice and the food is really delicious! (I had the crispy kare-kare)

There were days, the foods were good but lately there were some inconsistency in tastes. I ordered laing and fried galunggong with rice, which they categorized as combo 2. The rice texture was a mix of soft and hard grains. It tasted like they mixed the left over ones with the newly cooked. The laing was blant in taste and a disappointment, the galunggong was served with vinegar but even the sauce was somewhat plain for the taste. If the management wants to hold of their regular customers, and wants them coming back, the taste of the food shouldn’t be compromised . Their prices are a bit high and the diners should get their money’s worth with good food tastes. Also, they should refrain from upselling other food products since the customers can view them anyway. If they want to buy desserts or other snacks, they will do so even without the hard sell. As a Filipino we wanted to patronize the businesses of our co- Filipinos but when we feel shortchanged with the service we will be avoiding coming back again buying their goods. Hopefully, I was able to air my constructive criticisms with regards on how they can improve their service to their paying customers. I am just stating a fact based on my experience. This is in response to your statement that nobody is perfect which I found very unwelcoming of customers complaints. If you feel slighted on an honest opinion from your regular customer then no one will dare point out a constructive feedback. It looks like you’re just open to good criticism even in reality not every paying customer is satisfied by the foods they eat. Sorry if you feel the negative side of a positive feedback. Good luck!

First time trying this filipino restaurant, location is alright, lots of available parking around the area. The food selection is decent and taste awesome, they also have the street food type of snacks that most filipinos crave for like kwek kwek, halo-halo and iscramble, one of my favorite is the bbq isaw. The restaurant is not that big, it might be a bit crowded for 20 people inside.I think its a must try food, I will be back to try the other dishes and post my second review.

I recently visited their newly opened place in Burnaby, and it's incredibly Instagram-worthy. I love the fresh color palette they've chosen for the place. And let's not forget about their food. Though we didn't have time to try many dishes, the pancit guisado and scramble are absolute must-tries. They bring back childhood memories from birthday parties and afternoon snacks. It's the perfect combination! I highly recommend this food haven as a must-visit.

I was excited when I saw this Filipino Food Court Stall in New Westminster. They have ready to serve food options they also have Silog meals. I ordered tapsilog and I won’t say it’s bad but it could definitely be better. The rice that they are using has a bit of an after taste like it’s not the good kind :( the beef serving is pretty small for the price of $14 i think… they can make it worth the price somehow by adding a bit more to it. It took a little while for them to also serve the one order of Tapsilog my husband already finished his food before I could even start. But still happy to see a Filipino place I hope they can improve better so we can support them again.

Their bopis is highly recommended and was very tasty that is why I bought another one for takeout. Prices are competitive and affordable for smaller orders like budget meals for under $10. They also offer Filipino street foods are also present and are freshly cooked when you order. I highly recommend them if you have cravings for pinoy foods. Cone check them out.

we ordered and overpaid for fish balls, kikiam, siomai, and isaw. The isaw stinks and has the unsavoury after taste - it was obviously not cleaned and cooked properly. They tried masking the stench with their sugary sauce. The siomai tasted like it just came out of a box. The food were all lukewarm - quite unsanitary. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Considering that this is just food court food, this is phenomenal! Their garlic rice is top notch, and their meat has just the right amount of seasoning. Their beef jerky is a little bit dry, but overall tastes great! This is some very solid Filipino food that I highly recommend :)

Had their Bicol Express, Dinuguan, and Pork Hock Kare Kare with empanadas. I loved the empanadas and would definitely get the Kare Kare again. The Dinuguan was a bit more on the iron-y side, while I usually prefer it more vinegary, so that one is up to personal taste. The Bicol Express was ok, but would definitely try something else next time Im there.

Same thing as Plato Filipino, inedible due to how salty it is. The cashier was persistently pressuring me to order dessert. Having my salty experience at Plato I wanted to give this place a try before I spent more money. Im glad I didnt. I guess Im just going to stick to making Filipino food at home. U need to lower ur prices on ur desert. For that size it shouldnt be more than $5 U also need better food selection. I didnt even want to order as a Filipino myself. Ur not here to only serve Filipinos, make the food appealing to everyone with other selections of food. I didnt see labels that day I visited. There arent many Filipino stores and of any that are good so u got to go the extra mile to stand out. My suggestion for customer friendly are: MAINS .Kare kare .pancit with shrimp and fish balls .Fresh lumpia with peanut sauce .fried lumpia with banana ketchup (side) .Adobo .Menudo .afritata .lechon .Filipino BBQ skewer (BBQ style) .pan fried shrimp .pinkabet .fried milkfish (clean and open)w/mango salsa (side)mango, onion, tomato, cilantro .plain rice or garlic fried rice .Steam/boiled vegetables SOUP .tinola (with green papaya) .not sinigang .ham or chicken sopas DESERT .halo halo (made to order) .Turon w/brown sugar caramel .brown sugar sticky rice .carioca .bilo bilo .bicho bicho .puto w/ cheddar on top DRINKS .Philippino coffee (with avocado) .Calamansi juice .cantaloupe/honeydew juice .pop .water I just saw a picture of your halo halo and it looks nothing like how it should be. Start making your own food.

We purchased from their stall at the night market. Ordered fish balls and isaw, as we were feeling nostalgic. Ended up being disappointed. The fish balls were just meh, and the sauce was basic, nothing special. My dad was not a big fan of the isaw; he said it was disgusting. Not worth it.

Today we went to Royalcity Mall and we saw KimShaker so We decided to try it out, I bought Pancit bihon and Dinakdakan it was delicious and satisfied My brother bought Isaw, Shiomai and Kwekwek. Isaw is Okay, Shiomai is dry in the flesh but its delicious and I wish there was more Sauce, the kkwek has a lot of batter, its almost like its all batter but its also delicious.. Thats all, we will still buy again

Aside from everything being sold out at 6pm... The street food took way too long to serve (30 mins). When I finally got the kikiam, fish balls and kwek kwek, the food was cold. For what I paid ($51), the quality wasnt great. I was really rooting for this place. The tupig and pork BBQ on a stick were good. The lumpiang Shanghai were ok; not really tasty. I havent eaten the empanadas but I hope they taste good. Staff were friendly but the place looked chaotic. Maybe they wont take this advice but I hope they slim down their menu and focus on quality to justify their prices. Streetfood isnt rocket science. Pick a different fish ball product because the frozen ones are disgusting. The kwek kwek looks terrible; fry it properly or make it to order. Change the frying process. The products are cold and deflated.

May 22, 2024

Overpriced

April 22, 2024

I ordered delivery through Uber Eats. Embutido was bad. It was mouldy, smelly, and tasted weird. Bicol Express was okay, but my whole food order was swimming in Buko salad bran because they used a container cup thats supposed to be for dine-in halo-halo. The plastic lid had a really big hole, and a tape would have prevented the spill.

April 22, 2024

I dont know if a real filipino is cooking the dishes. They are so bland like they didnt even taste their own cooking! They have x the audacity to charge so much and yet the food is not even edible!!! The people who are giving a 5 star review must be friends with the owners of this place. You really need to see how many people voted 1 out of 5, and they were all saying how bad the food was. I didnt listen. I paid too much only to try garbage food. I hope people will start reading these reviews.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Royal City Centre. Staff is always so friendly, efficient and seem happy to be there. Love the silog, especially the perfect runny egg for your rice every time. Excellent prices for portion size too, compared to typical Vancouver price. Vegetarian options: Like the majority of Filipino cuisine there are limited vegetarian and vegan options.

December 22, 2023

The food and service was terrible. We went here on a Thursday night and ordered their fishball, kikiam, and sago t gulaman. It was very busy and disorganized. They also ran out of most of the items that I wanted to try. Regarding their service, the starting tip was 15% for a take-out place and the cashier didn t even offer us to give a copy of our receipt. The server looked distracted as well. Unfortunately, the food arrived cold despite taking so long to prepare. The food was mediocre but the drink was overly sweet and they put too much vanilla extract. We couldn t finish it and we felt like we wasted our money. Our total bill was almost $40 and definitely wasn t worth it. I had high hopes for this place because they serve Filipino street food, which is rare here in Metro Vancouver. I just wished they focused on just street food and did not have too many items on their menu. That way, the food and service might have been better.

Me and my wife was very excited by the thought of having a new Filipino food service in Vancouver. We immediately set out to New Westminster (Royal City Center Food Court) to find the Filipino eatery and it was busy. I do understand that they are still trying to fine-tune their service but it is a bit disappointing that they are sending people away because they cant keep up with the orders. Anyways, because we really wanted to try their food we waited for at least 40mins for a big order for us to try. We tried: Siomai (Best Seller) - Big and tasty, tasted home made although a bit starchy. (6pc per order) Fish Balls : They forgot to pack this in our order so please make sure to check your order before you leave. -Taste is so-so. Very overpriced for how much you get. Will stay away unless you really are craving for it.(10pcs per order) Cheese Sticks - Highly recommend. The best on their street food menu, sent me down to nostalgia hwy. Over priced but tasted really good. (15pcs per order) Kikiam - Big and tasty (I forgot how many per order) Barbecue - Very good, a bit on the small side but the taste is there. Cassava Cake - Its sweet and lacking on cassava flavor. (1 slice) Kwek-Kwek - very authentic taste. Very small serving (6pc per order.) Most of their Dessert menu was unavailable when we came. General Note: We spent a total of $112 on multiple order of the food that is approx good for 2 people. Most of the street food is over priced. The regular offerings and meals are all reasonably priced but lacking in serving size. Most people we talked in the food court has the same complaints but we all enjoyed the nostalgia of eating street food :D Service is chaotic, person taking the order is confused, back kitchen is also confused, the gentleman arranging orders forgot some our order. Will definitely need improvement. Will come back? Probably not in the near future. Will recommend? For sure just for the experience but please be wary of the price and serving size.

Its nice to have a Filipino fast food inside the mall. But but this one is OVERRATED !!!!!!!!!!! After lining up for 30 min: Street Foods starts at 2pm 1. Just to be told no BBQ because it doesnt come yet 2. SAGO GULAMAN is gone at 2:15pm 3. BANGSILOG is just small, 1/4 bangus and half of it is HEAD ugh ugh ugh 4. Four sticks of small fishball 5. Kwek kwek 6. One stick of Kikiam 7. Two lumpia 8. Cheese sticks $ 80.00 All of them are WARM/COLD its so obvious not cooked in there. Its seems like they just warm it in the AIR FRYER............. Will NEVER NEVER ever come back

I just tried this place. First of, there are not too many options as far as what you can choose. The taste was good.. not the best but good. What I am having issue with is just like many people here is having is that the portion is so small. I ordered 1 item with rice and the rice was soooo much but the beef, literally there was only maybe 5 good pieces and a few broken pieces. It is much smaller than I was expecting and the price is not that cheap either. Ill pass next time.

December 22, 2023

Overpriced & seemed like old food that was not kept well. Lady server in front not very friendly either. Got the budget meal which was $11. She said it was a box of rice and she was not kidding. It was 3/4 rice and only 1/4 meat. Got the bopis but tasted a bit off & kind of sweet. Ended up getting food poisoning from it & bad diarrhea & vomiting. Never will order from here again.

December 22, 2023

Wayyy OVERPRICED!!! We waited for an hour in line only to find out they were out of Siomai so we had to order something else. Wouldve been helpful if they put up a sign saying theyre out of it. Their fishballs, kikiam and lumpiang sariwa were all MUSHY. The lumpiang sariwa was falling apart and was hard to eat. The sauces were all the same for everything and it was more sour than sweet. Not to mention their countertops were very messy, unorganized and honestly unappetizing. Never again.

Only reason 4 stars serving portiin is a rad less (compared to say their chinese food competitors), and their service is slower(again compared to say Bubble waffle, where they move orders like theres no tomorrow-really fast). Its understandable, they are new but they have to speed things up coz people are getting impatience on the line.

December 22, 2023

Paid $21 for 6 pcs of Kwek-Kwek and 3 pcs of Isaw. Kwek-Kwek brown sauce is such a disappointment, which is, if you know your Filipino cuisine, the life of Kwek-Kwek. Isaw has a disgusting aftertaste and smells really bad. It s obviously not cleaned thoroughly despite them adding lots of sweet baste. It s a total letdown.

The thing about Filipino cuisine is its hard to make! It takes a lot of time, know-how and special ingredients to get it spot on. So we were delighted to find this gem at our local food court. Kimshaker particularly excels in their Beef & Special Pork menu items. The Lechon Paksiw is our favourite. They rotate their dishes but my mom and I always find something we like. Weve also tried their call ahead take-out so we dont have to line up. Royal City Centre is a popular place for seniors so we bump into people my mom knows and it makes her happy. Good place to eat food and catch up. The manager and staff at Kimshaker are always nice to us. Sometimes the line-ups are long but we dont mind.

I really want them to succeed. They have made improvements already so that english speakers can understand what they are ordering. They have also brought in a more salty not sweet dish so there is more variety. I cant eat much sugar so this was a nice change as before everything was sweet. They also offered a taste of the food so I wouldnt be disappointed which I greatly appreciate since I am new to the cuisine. They always make me feel special with fresh skewers, which Im happy to wait for. The only disappointment I have was in the price of the new plastic bowl servings. It didnt make sense to the other food prices. I suggest having a better pricing for that, if I see something tiny and it costs alot more than anything else in the shop its very off putting. Also the plastic container did not keep the stew contained and it did not travel well. It was very tasty though and comforting. Wishing you guys the best with your business. Food is pricey. And they even ask for TIP even your food is for to go or if you just buy one empanada. If you pay via card and press the skip button for tip, the lady who is the owner (I think) you can see she was dismayed and wont even say thank you or wont talk to you after, she will just hand the food and wont even smile.
