At Big Way Hot Pot, our soup bases are based on century old hot pot recipes. A combination of marrow bones cooked for over 8 hours, with more than 20 traditional Chinese herbs and a unique golden thick fragrant broth is what makes our hot pot stand out from the rest. Made to cook-to-order with over 100 ingredients to choose from, spiciness-your-way, our customers can create endless combinations of hot pot that’s guaranteed to be delicious, every time.
Big Way Hot Pot offers a unique concept where you build your own hot pot by selecting from hundreds of ingredients on the shelves. We visited on a Saturday evening, and the wait time was quite long—about 1.5 to 2 hours to get a table. The cost was around $50 per person, though it really depends on how many ingredients you choose. Overall, it’s a creative idea with decent food. Worth the hype? Maybe not entirely, but it’s definitely a fun and enjoyable experience.
Me and my friend visited on one of the busiest night of the week. The staffs are very accommodating and friendly even though we were late to the reservation. Food and drinks are so delicious! For broth, I highly recommend the tomato dry mix and szechuan green pepper. For drink I love the tea, super affordable and yummy. Service is excellent as well!
Great big way hot pot with plenty of seating, awesome sauce bar with 2 sets so you don't have to wait, and fast friendly staff! The rib eye was a little gristly so they can increase the quality of that, but it's as expected for the reasonable price of the hot pot lunch! About $20 for me. Got a free drink cuz it's happy hour, so that was nice. Ma La Ting medium was a tasty and perfect spice level for me. Finished it off with a free green tea ice cream, just perfect! Highly recommend this location! Head on down and treat yourself!
Similar to other Big Way locations. I felt like the food here is saltier? The pots were dented and only the pork shoulder rolls (?) were actually in rolls, everything else was just in shredded pieces and sort of frozen still. The servers were nice but the cashier was mumbling a bit and I felt like I was annoying him by asking him to repeat himself. My food came in approx. 10 minutes but my friend’s took 20. I began eating immediately and noticed everything was overcooked. Also, the customers sitting next to us were speaking to a server who misplaced their orders, when they got new orders, it was still the wrong one. The ice cream here is way smaller than the other locations. Most of the other reviews are also saying these things. It’s closer to Surrey which I appreciate, but I would rather just go to the Metrotown locations.
First time here and first time ever at Big Way. Food was good, the broth surprised us. We got the mushroom broth and the savory broth. The mushroom is the way to go. If it’s your first time. Get here when it’s not rush hour and you gotta get in the waitlist then once ready. They give you a pot and you go ahead and place all the ingredients you want inside your pot and then it gets weighed and you pay. Then take your table flag and sit anywhere you like. I wish the instruction was explained as nobody really explained it but it wasn’t too hard to figure out Interior is nice still looks similar to the previous business (bar). Overall a solid 3.5 experience and we would come back for sure
Great hot pot spot! Worth the wait. As soon as you enter, you’re provided with a huge bowl to fill up with all the ingredients of your choice before it’s weighed and then you pick your broth/soup flavour. Everything was great! Load up on seafood, meat and veggies. Try the collagen bone broth flavour - it was tasty. You will also have a full sauce bar to add spice or other flavours. There are SO many staff/servers which was great. My only complaint is that everyone’s bowl arrived at a very different time. I hope this place can sort this out since it’s a little annoying to wait to eat for others when your soup cools. Can’t wait to return.
First time at Big Way Hot Pot and so I had high expectations since they have many locations and many ppl talk about it. I've also had hot pot at many different hot pot places so will be comparing based on those experiences. 1. Great selection, however it ended up tasting the same like any other place once everything is in the pot. 2. Lining up to get your own food was long, felt like I'm at a food court. 3. We paid by weighing everything in the pot. Mine was $36 😮. But we got free tea and ice cream at the end. 4. Many servers always asking how things are, but my friends food came 15 min after mine. I didn't eat til his came. My food wasn't as hot anymore. 5. Great view out their window. This place used to be a pub. Interior decor was nice and spacious, good energy. Yes, I would come back here again if I was in New West. I know what to do next time.
We arrived around 3:30pm and we were greeted with smiles and they basically explain their daily iced tea offerings and their soft serve flavour. The line to the register is pretty slow as they only have one register open during our visit, so it took us at least 20 minutes to get our number and find seats. Had Tom Yum broth for both our hotpot and it was really tasty. The complimentary water and soft serve has a funny aftertaste. The wintermelon tea is okay, kind of watered down from all the ice in the cup but still refreshing. Overall, if you're craving for a decent price hotpot I would recommend this location since it is literally in New West Station.
Food was great. Restaurant is huge and very nicely appointed. Nice seating area - a lot nicer than the grungy ones in Burnaby and Vancouver. I like the attention to detail like drying all the pots before bringing it out and making sure the utensils are clean and not oily. The servers were really nice after we sat down and helped us a lot. We had put our names online and it was ready with a bigger group. The first host was pretty good and told us we can start getting our food after a certain table left. We waited and then we looked back and the table was taken by two other groups so we asked the host again, which became another person and she made up a lie saying it was another table that they were waiting for even though the first host had clearly pointed out which table he was gonna give us - there were no other tables that were long benches. I was fine with waiting but her attitude was terrible. I think the strongest team members need to go on hosting because they have the most interaction with the customers and they need to be able to communicate clearly with the ones seating them after paying.
This location is best among all other big way hotpot. Server Lucas H was so helpful. Thank you for the service.
Very spacious so it was fun to dine in. Also, Lucas H. was really friendly and polite hence adding onto our fun dine in experience.
LUCAS H THE GOAT
LUCAS H. gave us the best possible service ever
This is my first time going to Big Way. The food was good, but the service was better. Lucas was my server and he was the goat!!!
Fantastic service for an extremely busy restaurant. Kudos to the workers who are hustling here! Food is great, service is the best. I ll definitely be back. Major shout out to Ryan L, one of the servers. We had a little hiccup but he was able to resolve it right away and made us feel taken well care of!
First time here and first time ever at Big Way! If it s your first time, here s how it works: try to come during non-peak hours to avoid the rush. You ll need to join the waitlist, and once it s your turn, you ll get a pot. Then, you can pick and add all the ingredients you want into your pot. It s weighed at the end, and you pay based on the weight. We gor to excited, and we paid $119 with a tip (2 ppl) Afterward, grab your table flag and sit wherever you like. The process is straightforward, but a tip: the broth can get *really* hot, so be cautious it can make it hard to fully enjoy your meal for a while. Also, if you don t want to wait too long, I highly recommend joining the waitlist online before you arrive. You ll be able to see how many parties are ahead of you and plan your arrival better. Sometimes there can be over 100 parties ahead, which can mean a wait time of 1-2 hours. Planning ahead is key for a smoother experience!
Ryan is the best server!!! Give him a raise! HE IS THE GOAT
RYANS THE GOAT BEST PLACE TO GET FOOD
ryan is the goat, #1 big way waiter, unforgettable service, should come!
The environment and staff were awesome! Especially the staff, shoutout to Ryan!
Absolutely amazing experience. Server named Ryan was an absolute darling! Very kind person!
Ryan has W RIZZ best server ever
While this is the most spacious and well-designed Bigway in Vancouver, with comfortable seating, extra payment counters comparing to other locations, and an impressive drink bar, the service was extremely disappointing. My order was mishandled they mixed and cooked my food with another customer s broth. Shockingly, they suggested cooking it again in the broth I originally ordered, which made no sense. Re-cooking the food in a second broth would ruin its flavor and texture. When I insisted on fresh ingredients, I had to reselect everything and line up again, resulting in a even longer delay. By the time I finally got my food, my friend had already finished eating. To make matters worse, the manager wasn t present to address the issue, and compensation was just a free drink voucher, unlike the full refund I ve received for similar mistakes in the past at Burnaby location. Would def not come back and recommend this location. Edit: The free drink voucher will even expire in 10 days.....nice
It started getting busy right after we were seated. The service was excellent, and we loved being able to choose exactly what we wanted in our soup and create our own dipping sauce. Plus, the view from our window seat was beautiful.
this location, very bad customer service
kay z was the best, one of best service i ve had in a while.
Kay Z is the best server on this planet. She is incredible and we all had so much fun because of her tonight. Great food & my fav ice cream!!!
the server kay z was phenomenal, i appreciate her kind attitude and smile. thank you bigway
KAY Z WAS AMAZING! We are a group of 9 people and she was so nice to us, some of our friends are first timers here and they loved it even more because of the service. AND AS ALWAYS, FOOD WAS 10000000000000x AMAZING
Might be worth considering to prioritize seniors once they arrive at the restaurant.
The atmosphere is very nice. Lots of options they have GF options too. The broth was tasty. You pick what you want then they add the broth. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
Great selections of meats and veggies. Great customer service.
Overall, the food was actually great; aside from the reviews on this place. The service was great! They refill the water as fast as they can even though the fact that there s many people here! I d also like to mention our server, Vanessa who was super nice and very friendly. She also checked on us whenever she could. Someone please give Vanessa a raise
Joanne gave us the best service
One of my favorite big way locations and organization I ve seen out of all the locations so far
Had a great meal at the Big Way Hot Pot New location! The foos quality is just as excellent as their other locations. I also tried their new drinks! Highly recommend checking it out
Best deal ever, all the food are very fresh, and the service is good, plus free ice cream
Incredible service
amazing staff great food!
Absolutely amazong
I have fun at every Big Way
delicious!! amazing service from Lucas!!
Exactly the same as the other big way locations but wayyy too crowded. When i was paying at the cashier i keep thinking someone s raw meat tongs is gonna accidentally touch my jacket
Big Way exceeded my expectations! Friendly service and absolutely delicious hot pot. I can t wait to come back for more!
Delicious hotpot & ice cream! Nice Service
Great Big Way with fantastic environment and nice food choice. Really love the store atmosphere and it had lots of new drinks to choose, and can chat with the friends. Really love the ice cream after meals with different favors including matcha and sesame.
I went to Big Way Hot Pot s new location at New Westminster, food is so delicious, this store is bigger than other stores.
Definitely love this idea like how you choose your ingredients and many options of broth. Would like to come back again to see what s new in there!
Nice staff, good food with nice atmosphere. Kid-friendliness: Kids were having fun there a lot. Food : 5/5 |
Incredible.amazing,delicious
Excellent service, great food.
Were a BIG fan of Big Way and decided to bring our elderly aunt here on her birthday to introduce her to a new experience. We chose this location due to proximity to parking, elevators, and large space so she can navigate with more ease as she has some mobility issues. The staff were wonderful and patient with our party of 5, and the food was delicious as usual. She was very happy. She was also thrilled about the ice cream at the end. We cant wait for the merch to drop next week!!
I ve been looking forward to eating at this location since it had opened so I was able to dine here tonight. Sorry, forgot to take pictures this time. I ve eaten at several locations in the city so I knew what to expect and how things worked already but the novelty is still fun. I arrived and there was quite a few parties ahead of me so I was expecting a wait (30+ parties). I was quoted a 30-45 minute wait but I didn t mind as I d already come expecting that. The wait was quick enough and I did have a seat inside but there s only a little bit of room to wait inside. You can wait outside as there s a lot of space outside the doors but as it s winter it may not be ideal for some. After my wait, I was given my bowl and proceeded through the line. If you haven t been here before, it s a buffet style setup of raw ingredients. You have your usual hot pot staples as well exotic. It s got a good selection of vegetables so vegetarian options are good here as long as pick the right broth. Once I got my selection made, you walk up to the cashier and pay. You re given a stand with your number on it and led to your table. After a short wait, your food is brought to you and you can begin. Don t forget your dipping sauce though! There s a sauce station situated centrally in the restaurant with various items to make your dipping sauce. You can mix and match to create your perfect sauce while you eat. If you re intimidated by this though, there s a conveniently placed screen up high that lists different recipes for sauces as well as the most popular ones. After you ve got your sauce and food, it s easy to dig in. After your meal, you come to the best part. Ice cream! Cheers.
The restaurant has clear management issues and seems indifferent to customer wait times. Their attitude feels like take it or leave it, which doesnt create a welcoming experience. I can only hope that same lack of care doesnt extend to the kitchen. The food is okay nothing special but overpriced for what it is. It s frustrating that they prioritize seating larger parties even when smaller tables are available, which suggests they could better manage how they accommodate guests. Overall, not worth the hassle, especially during busy hours.
I really like this place. Its spacious, the staff are friendly, and it feels more private compared to other locations. The four of us went together and sat in the lounge area with our own space. I really like the style of this place, and the food is always so delicious. Its my top choice when I go out. Plus, I love the location very satisfied!
I recently visited this restaurant and had a rather disappointing experience. First, the wait was long, and I highly recommend making a reservation, as it s clearly necessary. The atmosphere was incredibly noisy, making it hard to relax, and the line to get food was so long it felt like we were waiting forever. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm, and there wasn t enough soup. To make things worse, they ran out of bowls and served our meals in plastic disposable ones definitely not what I expected. They were out of sauce bowls too. This was during a non-peak hour (2:30 p.m.). The servers were incredibly busy but did their best to keep things running, and I appreciated the complimentary ice cream it was a nice touch and a bit of a redeeming factor. However, the place felt more suited to teens and young adults, who were loud and inconsiderate, lingering at tables long after finishing their meals. The staff seemed overwhelmed and could have done a better job of moving them along to make space for other customers. There were a lot of people walking around with table numbers, but no tables available. It felt like a busy food court - but at a restaurant price. It was a stressful experience, and overall, it wasn t a great fit for families or couples looking for a relaxing meal. Food was expensive for what you get. The sauce counter was messy and dirty. Unfortunately, I won t be rushing back.
Fun atmosphere. Loud but in a good way. Noodle soup was just okay, bit expensive.
Overall an amazing fast-casual hotpot experience. Tons of options, if you think they re out of something they ll have it refilled before you can even ask. Staff are attentive, our server Rosselini went above and beyond packing our soup and ensuring our water pitcher never even got close to empty. Broth is SUPER flavourful - I love this location for Big Way as it s so large the line moves quickly even if there s a lot of people ahead of you on the waitlist. huge drink menu! Vegetarian options: Vegan broth, tons of veggies, tofu and mushrooms
Do not order takeout from here. Our order was completely wrong - wrong soup, wrong noodles, wrong toppings - its frustrating having to pay $30 for soup only for them to get every detail of your order wrong. Not worth the money for the value youre getting, especially if youre not even getting what you asked for.
Out of all the big way locations in the lower mainland, I can say without a doubt, that this has been my best experience. This is all thanks to the 5 star service we received by Kay Z. We went here for a birthday, and she greeted with SO MUCH positivity! Her energy and smile was so infectious that our FIRST TIME being here, was so memorable! She sang happy birthday, and it led to the almost the entire restaurant singing and clapping along! I hope Kay gets recognized for the effort she has for her work. Thank you for the exceptional service and I hope you know how impactful you are, not only to the guests, but to your team as well! :)
The service was fast and efficient, and supervisor Ryan was incredibly accommodating and attentive. Highly recommend for a seamless and enjoyable meal! Malatang was tasty would highly recommend
By far the best big way. Love the food, high ceilings, spacious inside compared to the other big ways. Good luck!
This Big Way location has a great spot, and the space is bigger and nicely organized. But the experience didn t really live up to my expectations. Just wanted to give some constructive feedback for better experience overall. The service was a bit lacking despite seeing other tables get frequent water refills, I wasn t offered any water until I specifically asked after my food arrived. This made me feel the staff were less attentive than at other Big Way locations, or perhaps this location isn t as accommodating for solo diners like me. When my food was served, the broth was only warm, not hot. In fact, it wasn t even as hot as the broth I ve received through Uber Eats takeout. This was particularly disappointing, as hot pot dining revolves around enjoying a steaming hot broth. On a positive note, the complimentary ice cream at the end has always been a nice touch that somewhat redeemed the experience. While the prime location and nice atmosphere are definite highlights, the service and food temperature fell short. I m hesitant to return to this location, especially given my fondness for other Big Way branches that have consistently delivered better experiences.
Decent spot, i enjoyed my meal
Gave us another ice cream
I first came here during the soft opening and the manager offered me a free drink since I saw it in the advertisement in the front. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it and appreciated the gesture. Unfortunately I was unable to eat here for the following months after opening due to the crazy lines until this afternoon. I arrived around 2:30pm to an acceptable line and plenty of space to sit. I usually eat at a competitor and I matched the ingredients and soup base as one to one as possible to do a fair comparison of quality and service. I had the bone broth with an assortment of ingredients shown in the picture. Ill provide a point form summary below. - Drinks are good. In fact their drinks and prices are so good that they could open a bubble tea store as a standalone and it can beat their competitors. - Sauce bar is good, they even include msg as an option which is a cute touch. - Ingredient quality and selection was a bit worse than the competitor, but acceptable enough parity. - Soup base was lacking compared to the competitor. My friend mentioned there are better broths at big way and proposed alternatives, which I will try in the future. - The soup also came lukewarm instead of hot, which is not a good sign. The food came when I expected it to, so the soup broth being lukewarm is even more confusing. I got the feeling I was missing at a fish filet or two in my soup, but I am not sure if im just being delusional or it was actually missing. - Checkout takes longer than needed as only 1.5 of the 3 scales (0.5 because the 2nd one got staffed half way through) were being used even though we had a line of 8~ people. - Ice cream was about equal. - Service was lacking. I added a large green tea as a complimentary drink and I had to go up to ask for it over 10 minutes after I recieved my food as if the staff forgot about it. - I also had to ask for the ice cream which certainly would not have been offered to me if I didnt ask for it. A new customer who doesnt know about it would definitely have left without it. At the competitor, this would be offered to me without me having to take the initiative to request it. I will be back to try the other soup bases in the future. Id also planned to wait at least 6 months after opening date for the new location to iron out rough edges in food quality and service - I hope at that point things will be more ironed out to the standard I received when I first came here during the soft opening. I do look forward to your success, as this location is by far the most convenient for me to eat DIY hotpot and being up to standard I will certainly return regularly and bring many others to enjoy as well.
I always enjoy eating here
Very great service, Lucas was amazing!
Lucas was an amazing waiter. Great service
Fantastic service. Lucas was an amazing server
Came to Big Way for dinner - amzing selection of ingredients, quick service, and special thanks to Lucas who was attentive and helped us out with his friendly service! 10/10 recommend
Food
Vegetarian options: veggie mushroom broth, and choosing only vegetables Food
Spacious and nice design, the service is always good
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff! A must-visit spot for anyone looking for an amazing dining experience. Highly recommend!
I recently visited Big Way Hotpot, and it was an absolutely amazing dining experience! The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food selection was impressive, with fresh ingredients and a variety of options to suit everyone s taste. Their soup bases were rich and flavorful, and I especially loved the unique twists they offer. The highlight for me was their sauce station it s fully customizable with so many choices to create the perfect dip! Whether it s a gathering with friends or a family dinner, this is definitely the place to be. I ll surely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotpot experience!
A big fan of Big Way, I really like the dinning experience here every time.
The restaurant offers an excellent selection of dishes, providing a truly delightful dining experience.
Food is good, service is okay, overall staffs are friendly. The atmosphere is great, if there are more TVs would be perfect.
Great service and food, ice cream was worth
Love u for the extra ice cream
Honestly big way is the way!
The server Kaung was very approachable and helpful.
I ve always loved Bigway, the great bustling atmosphere and the wide variety of ingredients, drinks and sauces. Today I went to the New west Bigway location with my friends, and in all my times I ve been to this location of Bigway, I have never received as much kindness, helpfulness and genuine respect from a server. If anyone is seeing this, our server, Vera has given the best customer service I ve ever experienced in Bigway. Vera doesn t make you feel like an outsider and treats you like an old friend, without failure Vera has always made us feel at home and welcomed every-time we have came in. Bigway should be proud of the hard working and dedicated efforts that Vera puts in as a worker.
I don t typically leave reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience. I didn t have much expectation as it was mostly self-service, but the level of service was extremely horrible. Two of us ordered beverages, and after receiving our soups, we followed up on our drinks. We were informed that the bar was busy and delayed. After 15 minutes, my friend received her beverage, but my drink was forgotten. We finished our meals and were served our ice cream, but despite following up atleast 4 times, we were repeatedly asked what drink we had ordered. A manager eventually came over to apologize, but there was no action taken to resolve the situation nor did he follow up. I approached the bar myself to inquire about my order, only to find that the staff seemed unaware of it. After standing at the bar for some time, I finally received my drink. At no point during our 2 hour wait were we offered any form of compensation, and we were only asked if we wanted a refund after the fact. After reading other reviews, it seems that our experience was not an isolated incident. I sincerely hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues to improve the overall guest experience. I unfortunately will not be returning or recommending this to anyone.
No services at all. Didn t even give us water. Meat options are very limited and they don t restock. The worst malatang I ve had so far, not spicy at all for medium signature broth. Food
Absolutely awful, the only thing going for it is the view. Hostess should have informed us or posted on the window that there were no beef or pork slices. These are literally your staple hotpot meat. My family would have went elsewhere if we knew, its infuriating! Not only that but we had to ask for water after our first portion was served and midway while I was eating, a server comes and ask if were done... like do you not see me still eating? Never coming back to this branch again.
Bigway Hotpot is an absolute gem! The food is always fresh, the broth options are flavorful, and the variety of ingredients is incredible. From the thinly sliced meats to the vibrant selection of veggies and noodles, every bite is a delight. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. Ryan Liang is the GOAT always friendly, attentive, and making sure every guest has an amazing experience. His dedication to hospitality adds so much to the atmosphere. Whether you re a hotpot veteran or a first-timer, Bigway Hotpot is the spot to go. Highly recommend for anyone craving a top-notch meal and unbeatable service. Can t wait to come back!
Ryan Liang kept appearing in my dreams, he s been running through my mind every day since then. I finally built up the courage to request for his all mighty presence, to which he respectfully and proudly did. i love Ryan Liang
Came here during the weekend, Hanna was very helpful to me and did her best to give the best service possible.
We had an amazing experience at Big Way! Food was great and the ice cream was delicious!
this new location ran out of meat before 6pm .the service was nice but not attentive unlike other locations. how you out of meat and you also you do not find out till you re there. also bigway is known to be busy all the time so surprising they ran out of every meat
Price is competitive and the food was delicious. It definitely depends on your ability to choose the right items. I have tried several hot pot restaurants and this is my favorite. Unfortunately, it is a bit crowded and the tables are really close together but I get that. Overall, service is good and I would definitely recommend this place.
I m huge fan of bigway who has already been every branches in BC ><. This is my third time in new west branch which is my favourite location with plenty of seats and wonderful environment. The best spot is thai sweet chilli sauce only available here and burnaby branch. Recommended flavours- Mushroom Vegan Broth for soup who has been boring with signature MalaTang, and Spicy Szechuan Dry Mix for who doesn t wanna drink soup. All time fav ever
It was busy, the service was sucks they forget my order after waiting its very upsetting.
Long waitlists but staff is very nice and food and drinks dont take long to arrive at all. Waitlist was an hour for me on a Thursday night for a party of 2 so plan according :)
TIP make sure DO NOT SHARE a pot with a friend or family member because they only give out one drink and ice cream per pot, if you want ice cream or a happy hour drink make sure to use SEPARATE pots and they re very strict on that!! otherwise atmosphere and food was amazing!! Service was wonderful too amazing staff!
Excellent customer service Compliment to KayZ for the help. Food
Some days the ingredients are cooked perfectly, but other days the vegetables are overdone, translucent, limp... its nice being able to pick your own ingredients, but unfortunately it isnt assured they wont be overcooked.
First time eating here. Didnt know the process. Very busy but the line went quick. Lots of choices. Friendly staffs. I missed the hub, but Im glad they replaced it with the hot pot place. Its different as we dont have near by.
We usually love Bigway, however this location is so disorganized. (We usually goto the burnaby location). Summary of sequence below: 1. Bigway lost our order: This has never happened before at any other location. When the food came out, we knew it was not ours. We told the server right away. At the same time another table beside us also got the wrong order. After 30 minutes of waiting and also talking to multiple servers finally they told us to grab a new bowl. 2. Due to the previous experience. We had to get takeout since our parking was about to expire - Keep in mind we paid 1.5 hrs for parking. 3. Slow service - After waiting for a long time for our food that never showed up, plus waiting for our take out order. They asked us if we wanted ice cream. Again slow service. We just walked out without our ice cream. PS: No free parking available, parking is 5 dollars per hr Needless to say, we would never come back to this location again.
The servers and atmosphere were really nice! And its so convenient and so close to our house ! We come here every week :)
The food taste really good and Ryan served me and friend with lots of patience.
During our visit, Mya and her colleague truly stood out with their exceptional customer service skills. They were incredibly helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Her friendly and professional demeanor made us feel welcomed and valued. It s rare to come across someone so dedicated and genuinely nice in customer service. Thank you, Mya and your coworker for making our visit so enjoyable!
Definitely an upgrade with the bigger space! The best location to go to if you have a bigger group. From my experience, the waiting time online wasn t bad but it was so slow to physically wait for the ingredient/cashier lineup. Could there be a third cashier? Or even a separate line up just for picking ingredients so people aren t stuck waiting.
bye they got our food wrong two times. food also took 30+ mins. Food : 2/5
I understand it was a Friday and newly open but, we were told 2 hours wait. 5:30pm we joined queue, waited for about an hour and a half and was told again it was a 2 hour wait, we left and I didnt get a text for a table until 9:00pm Seems poorly coordinated should expect this location to be extremely busy knowing their other locations. Especially with much higher seating capacity. As the seating areas looked more than half empty throughout the night. Their Burnaby location, Ive never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table and didnt even need to put my name down. Even with a high queue time theyre quick. Im sure the hype will die down. And theyll fall into a efficient system. I just want to go to a hotpot closer to my home so Im happy this place opened up at this location
Came here exclusively for the sukiyaki broth, only a day after they opened and they already sold out. Literally how i got the mushroom broth instead and had to make a sukiyaki mix from the sauce bar to add to my pot, they barely had any soy sauce and ran out of sugar, had to wait a long time for the sauces to refill and i was afraid my soup would get cold in the meantime. No kimchi at this new location. Interior still has the aesthetic of the restaurant that was perviously at this location, the tables were too high to eat comfortably. At least the staff were very nice
3 hr online wait list. Waited comfortably at home. When it was almost our turn. Received a text message. Also, can see what place you are in the cue on the online waitlist. Kid-friendliness: High Chairs
I was waiting for over 40 min for my drink. I told 3 different workers (including the manager) and they all said it was on the way. Then when I got it, they forgot the pearls on mine and my friend s drink. They gave me a free drink voucher probably cause they saw me writing this review lol.
I recently visited Bigway Hotpot and left feeling a bit disappointed. First, there was a mix-up at the cashier s station. My receipt had a double charge for one item, and two items I ordered were missing entirely. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, but it was clear that they were still in training and struggled to resolve the issue. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, offering a cash refund for the doubled order and preparing the missing items at no charge, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the problems didn t stop there. Two bowls were incorrectly served, having different soup base from what we ordered which added to the frustration of the dining experience. While the staff did try to fix the situation, I just said that it s fine for I was hungry and just want to finish. I hope to see better organization and service on my next visit. They should have assigned the trained employees from the old branches as this location is big and being hyped up with lots of promotions going on.
(Updated) I reviewed this place 2 days after its launch and had a lackluster experience: I initially thought they had just taken over the restaurant and painted, hung up signs, installed new tables, and added their coolers. However, after researching the previous restaurants interior, I found out that all they did was paint and add their coolers talk about lazy. As with their other locations, the interior of this location isnt in line with Big Ways aesthetic. As well as that, they seemed to take the most beat-up pots from other locations and bring them here... Due to the fact that I went on the second day after opening, it was still pretty low-key and not too crowded. The checkout process to pay and get broth took around 20 minutes with only 7 people in front of us. Moreover, on the second day, there was no sukiyaki broth available, which is only available at this location. P.S. I suggest not sitting at the booths if you are under 57 because the tables are high up and uncomfortable.
I had a great experience. Food was amazing, and worker named andy was very helpful. Would recommend.
We arrived and joined the waitlist. Asked the staff how long is the wait time. Staff kept saying 30-40mins. It has been an hour and our 2-hour parking will be renewed soon. Lots of table with lesser people seating in it. Big tables with 10- 12 people capacity had only 4 or 5 people sitting on it, same as 2 people occupying tables with 4-sitting capacity..very disorganized. 2-hr parking wasted still no table..
Full of kids wait is soooo long ( 1 hour and 30 minutes ) waited from 11 to 12:30 to get seated also my food came and my partner s food still didn t come after 15 mins .. we had to bring it up with a person .. waiter brought the food right away guess it was just sitting there
It s a fun concept to for everyone to be able to choose their own ingredients and individual soups. Servers were very attentive and friendly. - use the waitlist. Do not complain that you waited an hour for food when you didn t put your name on the online list. - I wish there was weight stations before checkout to ballpark your price. 3.99 per 100 grams can add up quickly. - I tried the signature soup and it was very tasty. Mild spice level had a nice warmth to it for my taste. My friends tried the miso one which was also very good - it would be nice to have the soup descriptors in the restaurant and not just on the website -be very aware that the Szechuan dry mix literally has no liquid. It is not a soup base. It s more of a dry spice blend. If you order this, you will have no liquid soup in your bowl. - the matcha ice cream is a great way to end your meal. Loved that. - the renovations to the space were minimal at best on the front of house side but they put 0 work into renovating the bathrooms. There s still stickers and graffiti bits on the ceiling from the prior tenant and really needs some love. Love the little sauce bar. Very fun. Looking forward to coming back to try some more and use the patio in the summer.
Thwin is the best waitress ever!!!
If you re planning to come after 7 pm please make a reservation! They do not treat the walking guest pleasantly. We came at 8.30pm and had to stay for more than a hour to get an into line. Was so fed and hungry . Had no other options as other shops were closed after 9pm. We also do pay for our food and had to stay nearly for an hour. So frustrated
Good food and quick service. The waiting time is long but just need to book online and when it s near your table then go to the restaurant. That s how I ve always done and the dine-in experiences haven been pleasant.
Its clear why this new Big Way location has only a 3-star rating while others hold at least 4 stars. My friends and I visited on a quiet Sunday night and ordered our usual pots, while I added a drink to go with my meal. The food arrived quickly and met the usual standard, but my drink never came. After asking about it mid-meal, I was told they had mixed up my order with another, and despite assurances that it would arrive soon, I waited five more minutes. By then, we had already finished eating, and I no longer wanted the drink. Unfortunately, not only were no accommodations made to rectify their mistake, but when I asked the manager for a refund, they simply processed it without offering any apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. This was my first disappointing experience at Big Way due to poor customer service, and I would think twice before visiting this location again.
Good food and attention, fresh vegetables I will come back soon because it is good to eat in autumn or winter time, the best option is that you only have to pay 4$ CAD per every 100 grams.
comparing to other bigway, this is the worst bigway ever. yesterday i got a little amount of rice(left) meanwhile i ate to the other branch of bigway they had give me big amount of rice (right pict) with the same price
We went there before the dinner rush started, got waitlisted online prior and it still took 20+ minutes to move 5 spots in line. Once we actually got to pick our food, there was numerous food items mixed, specifically in the meats, which is a safety issue. When we got our food, the broth was barely hot still, and we asked for it to be refreshed. The entire time we were there no one came back with broth. No one checked on us. No one offered us drinks. When we told a staff all this, and asked for our ice cream, they didnt apologize, they just left. 10 minutes later we were gone, still no ice cream, or drinks. Ill drive further for better service, but thankfully Coquitlam has 3 hot pot places better than this one. They wont see us back.
Why are they keep giving me plastic rice bowl for no reason? The place was not busy at the moment either, 2nd time in a row ??
Food is very good, staff are polite but the wait time both times I went and got drinks was insane. The bowls always have a greasy feel which is a turn off and knocks off more points for me. They also do not have prices on their website?? I beg that they add the prices to the website. I will add the drink menu and drink prices below.
Messed up my broth and charged the same ingredients I get at other locations like 3x more
Maybe because this location just opened but my broth was not hot it was lukewarm
Came here with my friend and her food came just about 5 mins we sat down, then our drinks and everyone else s food around us. We checked in with a server then we waited 30 minutes for my food to come and it was cold. I couldn t say anything because I didn t want to wait another 30 minutes for my food to come. If I d known it was going to be that kind of service, I wouldn t have tipped. It was incredibly frustrating as I had high hopes as it s my first time at Big Way.
We came practically at the opening of the place, everything was very delicious, fresh and fast. Avoid peak meal times. Free ice cream and drink from 1-5pm all deli. Very attentive and in general a good place.
The pots that were given to us were still dripping cloudy water from the previous wash, our cups and utensils had bits of old food and were covered in greasy fingerprints before we even touched them. Makes me wonder if they were washed at all. The food was as expected but everything else was a disappointment. I understand that this is a new location but its no excuse for the lack of cleanliness.
I ve tried most of the Big Way Hotpot locations, and this one has a nice, spacious setting with a great view. The atmosphere is good, and the staff are friendly. However, the pot was a bit oily, which seems to be an issue across their locations. it didn t feel like it was washed enough. The broth was also very mild, almost like water with a hint of mala flavour, so it felt like I was just eating the toppings by themselves. We gave some feedback, and they said they d let the kitchen know, which was nice. However, we didn t hear back anything after that, which is fine, just something that could be improved. Compared to the Burnaby location, this broth just didn t have the same spice level probably because it was too watery to get that kick. I ll give them another try in the future and hope they make improvements.
They just opened so it s very very busy. Pre plan and join the wait list early. We have been twice and had a good experience. Both visits there were different food options, but still lots of availability. Service was very friendly and helpful and staff were attentive. Food was very fast and delicious. We will be back!
After passing time on the waitlist we finally got in. The service was great and the bone broth was delicious!
food was great, waited a bit for our drinks but the supervisor and staff apologized and was very kind!
It took 2 hrs on the waitlist. Half of the tables were empty, saying they wanted to control the pace. Staff who need to take care of the waitlist just stand there and do nothing. Newly opening can not be an excuse as obviously this store has a management issue. Will never visit here again, but I will keep going to further bigway stores.
Why do people go to big way? So many better hotpot options
This place brought me the wrong pot, and in the end they wasnt able to find the correct pot that had the ingredients I picked! In the end I wasnt able to receive the correct pot, but I ate whatever they gave me and left as I feel there is no need to waste time.
what a great hot pot experience and easy to find around vancouver area, big ways makes me feel like Im in the heart of asian city. the food has a strong asian flavor, along with the enthusiastic and hospitable staff. this is always my number one choice whenever I think about choosing for dinner Vegetarian options: I really like the vegetarian soup here.
Amazing food and great Service. Vivi was very helpful. BigWay has become our go to spot.
Big Way offers a really good and quality hot pot experience. The dishes are well cooked and flavorful. I really like it and will be my first choice every time I go out to eat.
an asian culture in the heart of vancouver. the warm and cozy vibe is always a specialty of Big Ways.
Only ordered a drink and I thought I would be out in <15mins but it ended up taking ~40mins Thanks to the server that helped with my order tho she s the
I went three times, my first impression was the bowls were more dirty and greasy than the other stores. When we sat down everyone got their orders but I had to wait 40 minutes and I got the refund as everyone already finished eating by the time I got my food. The second time was some what fine however, the soup was as good as the other location. The big problem was in my third time they took a while again and gave me my miso broth however, there was no soup it was almost like a miso jelly thing that looked odd. I looked past that and I asked for extra broth, and it took 20 minutes to get the broth. After I finished I started getting stomach pain and it s day 5 now and I ve been having this pain and using the restroom often, I hope I recover soon. I believe it s not very sanitary or there was something to do with that broth that has cause my pain. Beware of this branch I don t think they are ready yet. I m not really upset about the waiting or late orders at all it s understandable. I m more upset about having pains for multiple days.
My friend and I got there at 5:40pm on a Thursday (after joining the online waitlist), but ended up stuck in the lineup to get ingredients for around 30min. By the time our food came out + we started eating, it was 6:20pm. The entire front lobby was also crammed with people, which spilled into the dining area, making the dining experience really chaotic. Big Ways are usually chaotic but since the space is bigger than any other location, the crowd was much worse. They should have a line system/waiting area that extends outside instead of cluttering up the inside. Or two line systems: one for checking in and one for waiting. The dining area itself was sparsely populated compared to the amount of people up front, with a lot of extra space that wasnt used up. The food was incredibly mid, and took a while to come out. They didnt have some of the ingredients that I love from other Big Way locations, and the green peppercorn broth I always get was different (less flavourful and more oily. The chilis they put in were bitter). Their signature Big Way soy sauce was not salty even after three full pumps (it takes me two small spoonfuls at other locations), so whoever mixed it did not do a good job. Even the lime and lemon water they gave us had a bitter aftertaste, which I havent experienced at any other location. Ice cream was the same. Im curious what the experience will be after its been a little while, and when they are less busy. I would come again to give them the benefit of the doubt, but if the food quality is still the same I think Id just skip and go to Kingsway. Its faster and tastier.
Staff dont know how to manage the line up. We waited for more than 3 hours to get our table which i think its ridiculous.
Mya was so helpful and the sweetest. Although she wasn t our server, she made our experience at Big Way very good.
Me and my friends went there yesterday like 11pm , we had a large group i think group of 8. The line up was crazy long as usual. After like twenty minutes we got in. After we ordered we couldnt find a seat because only the big table could fit us all. So the guy manager (I think? because is hard to identify their managers they are all wearing the same big way shirt but he has a walkie-talkie and led us to the seats and he came after to revolve the problem so i am assuming he is ) anyways he put us into two groups waited for our table. He transferred us to the big table after. I really appreciated him because we waited really long for the food. And when we get our pots i am not sure if the kitchen made a mistake or they sent mine to the wrong table. But i didnt get my broth. And this guy again came out of nowhere asked us if we needed help. I dont know how but within a minute he found my pot and served to us. I was going complain about it but he was really kind so Nah. The food was pretty was Btw. But ngl that guy was flying all over the place. Cuz during my time there i legit saw him like working in bar, serving and revolving complaints. He even served us the ic cream. (He grabbed eight ice cream at once! )I dont know how much he is getting paid but THAT GUY NEED A RAISE. Overall food 4/5 atmosphere 4/5 service 10/10
We went in the first week they opened, and our server Andy was so kind and accommodating for seating, drinks and overall service!
My girlfriend and I went there for yesterday for our anniversary. We joined the waitlist while we were watching movie in Landmark. We waited like ten minutes. The server Ryan who led us the seat was really helpful. i told him it was the first time came to the restaurant. He provided us a guide about big way. And put us in the seat where right besides the window. It was raining yesterday but the atmosphere was perfect. We enjoyed the dinning experience there.
The food was great and the service was even better. Mya was taking amazing care of us. We will definitely come back and I hope Mya is our server again.
Tonight was my first time dining at the Big Way Hot Pot New West location. I was impressed by their excellent service! Especially Leo at the entrance he was very welcoming and patiently explained how to get food and introduced the drinks available in the restaurant. I m sure I ll be coming back to Big Way Hot Pot often, not just for the food but also for their friendly and patient service!
First time at the New Westminster location. We were welcomed and greeted right when we walked it. The gentleman greeting us explained the process as it was the first time at a Big Way Hotpot location for some ppl in our group. It was very busy but the line moves along as expected! Quantity of the selection was all very full and restocked when needed! The cashier was very patient and helpful. Very efficient hard working team!!! Great work to the staff working on Nov 9! Our server, Mya was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She was the kindest, most sweetest person and provided fantastic service! 10/10!!!! She checked in on our table frequently and was so quick with helping us get what we needed! She demonstrated efficiency and showed us how hard working she really was! When one of the ice creams was dripping down the side of the cone, she quickly replaced it even though we said it was totally fine! Mya was the highlight of our experience and a top reason of why we would love to come back to the new west location!!!! If Mya sees this, I hope she knows she put a smile on all of our faces and that we truly appreciated her service! Will be recommending this Big Way location to others! Mostly because of Mya! Well done!
Joined the waitlist early and we were helped as soon as our table was ready. Great explanation as to the process and everyone was so efficient! So many good options to choose from our pots were so full! We were there for quite awhile, and even though they were busy, we were not rushed and service was great the whole time! Can t wait until they finish decorating, the spacious atmosphere is perfect for a smooth big way experience!
Was such a great experience! One of my favorite locations for me and my partner. We come from mission so we make sure to get in the waitlist before we decide to head out and it s perfect timing! Amazing service everytime:) See you at the grand opening!!
Joined the online waitlist at 11am at 16th place and was still not seated by 12:30. They will prioritize people who waited at the door prior to opening hours first rather than their online waitlist. Very misleading as it can appear that you are close to being seated but in reality there are far more people before you. Therefore, their online waitlist is useless. Other Way Big Hot Pot places do not operate this way. Will not be going to this location but still support other Way Big in other cities. Ended up leaving and not eating here at all.
Disappointed with the online reservation during the location s grand opening. I reserved right at 11am and was 7th in line. This was a great option because we drove from far out to try this location and we heard good things. We waited over an hour and had talked to someone at the front. What actually happened is that they took down reservations in-person first as people lined up as early as 9:30am. So we may actually have been 30th or something instead of 7th which can be misleading. We may try this location out when it s less busier but my advice is do not do the online reservation during the grand opening. I do want to note that the staff was accommodating and was looking to make it up to us. Although, we decided to not end up eating there. Hopefully we ll be able to come back another time. TLDR; Avoid the online reservation system as it could be misleading and waiting times are unknown.
Food was good but service was not the greatest. Ordered 2 drinks but it took awhile for it to come out. During our meal we kept asking multiple employees for an update on our drinks not once, but 4 times. The first time we asked, we noticed the people beside us received their drinks before we did, (even tho we came before) them so we asked for an update on our drinks. They said they would check, but never came back with an update with our drinks. The second time we asked, we finally received the first drink, but only the first drink. Third time we asked they asked what we ordered and would check back again, but they didn t. At this time we practically finished our food. The fourth time we were ready to leave, and was growing a bit impatient so we asked a different worker, Ryan. Ryan was the only one that actually took initiative to get our drink. If you are someone that values good service, and don t wanna wait 2 hours to get in, I recommend going to a different location.
They made us wait three hours even with a reservation, it is always jammed with people and they have very bad organization, they put people in front of me in line and they did not respect the places
If you are the impatient kind of hangry, I would highly recommend to either wait for the grand opening hype to be over or come early to secure a waitlist spot and make a day out nearby cause during peak hours, the wait is LONG (2+ hours) That being said, the food was delicious and I had a great time customizing my bowl. Lots of options to choose from and all fresh. The layout is also quite efficient. You re given a pot at the entrance and you grab your ingredients all the way to the cash register. Great location and service was friendly. Not the biggest fan of their booth seatings as someone under 5ft. I recommend their sukiyaki broth and lychee lemonade!
This venue is better suited to be a pub. In essence it s just over priced soup, and painfully average soup at that. Don t waste your time on this overhyped flash in the pan
I don t know why y all are complaining for the long wait time, of course it s gonna be long. Any of y all who rated 1 star on opening day should expect a long line up. ITS OPENING DAY, and it s beside a college campus. That s your fault The food tasted perfectly fine, exactly what I expected and it was really good, I don t recommend the bone broth however, but that was on me for trying that out, all my other friends got the signature broth and it was delicious. Got free ice cream at the end too as well as nice service. Plus there was no wait at all
I m not too sure why there s lots of negative reviews! It s not their fault that they have a lot of customers, and you have to wait for a long time. Me and my gf experienced amazing customer service from the staff, and the food was especially great.
No toilet paper on opening day >:(
I m not usually one to leave reviews after a bad experience, but I feel I need to share this time. I m a fan of Big Way Hot Pot at the Kingsway location and was excited to try the New Westminster branch. I visited after work at midnight on October 30th, but I was extremely disappointed and have no desire to return. When I first walked in, there was no wait or line (which I personally don t mind if the food tastes great, I d even wait 2 hours), but unlike the Kingsway location, there was no one to guide me at the entrance. I enjoy hot pot and know how the system works, but I can imagine it might be confusing for first-time visitors. I couldn t find the meat I was looking for, so I asked a staff member if there was more available. They told me to wait a moment, but they never returned. I then asked five other staff members, but they all just said to wait and never came back, leaving me waiting at the ingredient station for over 15 minutes. I placed a takeout order at the counter and also ordered a drink, but it took 35 minutes just to receive my food. Even then, my order was served in a pot meant for dining in, and I had to wait another 10 minutes while they switched it to takeout. After finally receiving my food, my drink still wasn t ready, and it took another 15 minutes. By the time I finally got my takeout, nearly an hour had passed just for TAKE-OUT. They gave me my drink with the lid not fully secured, so it spilled everywhere on my walk back home. I ordered the signature broth with extra spicy, but as you can see in the picture, the broth was more watery and bland compared to other locations. There were more than 10 staff members working on the floor, but the managers (the man and woman with glasses) and several other staff seemed completely uninterested in the customers, instead sitting and chatting among themselves. One of the male staff member served ice cream to customers without washing his hands after covering a sneeze with his hand. It was disgusting.
It was our fist time at this restaurant. The food selection were fresh and has a good variety of choices in meats, fish, vegetables and even vegan. I had the tomatoe sweet and sour non spicy soup base and was very flavourful. Some had the bone and cartilage soup base and was also very tasty. Followed by a complimentary green tea ice cream on a fresh waffle cone after our meal! The service was outstanding from the the begining of the gentleman weighing our food pots to the servers that brought us our cooked individual hotpot to our table. However, Mya, and im not sure if she was a manager or part owner, was extremely attentive checking on our table making sure we had everything we needed and enjoying our food. The endless amount of energy, passion and attention to our party of 6, really made our dining experience fun, enjoyable and definitely going back soon. Our evening was a 10+++ experience! Koodles to Mya and the staff. Thank you
There was plastic in one of our pots. To me that is enough to justify a 1 star. I wish I was lying :/ Ive given this location multiple tries, hoping each experience would get better but sadly it always falls short Unjustifiable wait times just for drinks, to the point you would have to remind the servers because they forgot, literal plastic in our hotpot, dirty cups and oily pots, and the honestly sad ice cream (we got 6 of them just like the photo, yes its free, but Ive never seen them skimp out so much) I really hope the employees will be held to a higher standard as Ive never had a bad experience at other Big Way locations.
Great concept and set up for weight-based hotpot selections. Make sure to get on the waiting list online as this new location has a wait of about 2-2.5 hours. Overall good selection of protein, wish there were more vegetable options to choose from. Overall broth was ok, had the sukiyaki, the broth was pretty rich/heavy - Id try a lighter broth next time.
We love the food and it s the best location out of all of them. Shout out to to Kris D
Great place to visit while on a chilly day, great broth and great service, especially a big shout out to Yifan for the amazing service.
Good food. Great location. And Simran went above and beyond to serve us. Would definitely recommend.
highly recommend, the food is so cheap and good, nice customer service, and also free ice cream after finish my meal (the best ice cream i have ever had)
They should provide more accurate wait time estimates. I was number 47 and started waiting at 11:15 a.m. After 30 minutes, I returned to the restaurant, and server told me it would only be another 15 minutes. However, that seemed impossible because the numbers were increasing very slowly. After waiting for an hour, they were only at number 25. Tons of empty seats and it s weird that after whole hour and 25 groups are seated I decided to leave, and they called me after another hour. In total, it was essentially a 2hr + wait With that food quality and price, better off going elsewhere and get a spot within 15 min . It s not worth 2+ hour wait unless you don t know where else to get hotpot, or it s different from other places
This location is so nice! They were out of enoki mushrooms unfortunately.. but it was still good! Very good service and lots of seating. Noticed lots of teenagers eating here..Im guessing thats due to the proximity to the skytrain? Parking is typical downtown New West parking. I think Id prefer to go to other locations if driving! Good for big parties though
There were three of us at a table and our bowls came out 20 minutes apart, one at a time. The last person was left hungry for so long. Would recommend going to other big way locations instead.
This store is not as bad as the internet makes it out to be. They are trying to get better. Especially the service. manager Yifan showed his very SWEET side. Worth to come back next time!
Amazing experience at this hotpot malatang restaurant! Yifan and Austin provided the best service, attentive, friendly, and super efficient. They made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. The food was delicious, with so many fresh and flavorful options to choose from. Highly recommend this place and a big shoutout to Yifan and Austin for making our visit extra special!
I really like this biggest Bigway hotpot. they are very spacious especially they have a lot of good looking guys and girls waiters. There was a male manager in a black shirt who had excellent service.
I had an outstanding experience thanks to Yifan and Austin s exceptional service! From start to finish, they were attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail was taken care of. Yifan and Austin made my visit memorable. On top of that, the food was delicious and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend visiting here. They definitely went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect
Great food and service
I love the place, and I also love what I ordered. The hotpot is perfect for this cold weather.
We got a text that we re next in line but still WAITED for 20 minutes inside (what s the use of joining a waitlist online if you still got to wait inside LOL).
RYAN IS THE BEST!!!!
My server Ryan was so nice and helpful, mans the goat!
RYAN IS THE GOAT
Its really worth it to come all the way from Coquitlam to eat Dawei. Every time I wanted to come here, I had to wait for more than 300 tables. This time I came late. The food was very fresh and the service was impeccable, especially from a guy named Ryan. Liang (hope it s spelled correctly) has nothing to say about the service or guiding us to our seats. It s great
Nice location!! It was busy, but their service was really great.
My second time trying this location and I can see they improved a lot! Will definitely come back soon! Food
Nice place! Good server! Cosy!
This was my first time dining here, and it was a great experience! The servers, Ryan and Rossellini, were incredibly nice, and the supervisor, Austin, was very friendly. The team provided impressively fast service. Highly recommend!
Convenient location if you take transit. However, a big difference from this location to others is the quality of the ingredients. The meat selection was pretty low quality either falling a part or freezer burned. Also, the sauces were pretty watered down, notably the peanut sauce was very runny. Still enjoyed the food, however the quality difference was quite noticeable. Richmond locations will forever be my tops.
My sister and I went to Big Way Hotpot in New Westminster for the first time, and we had an amazing experience thanks to Austin and Ryan. They were super friendly, quick, and so easy to talk to, it felt like they genuinely cared about making our night great. The service was top-notch, and the food was awesome. I d recommend this spot to everyone! Such lovely people just make sure to join the waitlist beforehand to avoid delays. Don t let the bad reviews fool you it s worth it
This is by far the worst Big Way location Ive been to. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and our food arrived warm, not hot, but warm. Yes this location is big and spacious but it is also why it took the staff a long time to find our numbers. To add to this, some of my veggies were missing from my pot, we are not going back to this location ever again!
Got a drink it was way too sweet, so I asked them to remake it with no pearls cus it has brown sugar , and with 50% sugar level. It still tasted the same and if anything even sweeter lol waste of money
Good food, good service, good staffs.
This place plays some great 90s bangers solid vibes
I am a huge big way supporter, I have been here a couple times now and have always had a great experience. There was an issue with my order but Elena M. was amazing and helped me out quickly and I appreciate it a lot. It was great customer care
Whenever i order a drink with pearls, they always forget to add them and they charge me for them too
Nope. Tried once. I ll never come back. Bit pricey for DYI hotpot. I spent like $50 And it s not like wow! , it s just okay. But I ll prefer Haidilao or Dolar shop. And I feel like I got less than what I ordered. But free ice cream when you already paid.
