I have never been more disappointed from a quick cafe style place. Visited on Dec 8 morning First of all, there is a new person training and doesn't know much which is fine as we were all new at our jobs once. However, the other girl working was constantly sitting in customer dining area and on phone. Like why would you not help your coworker when she struggling. Second, slow service!!! Third, asked for 1 chai less sweet one regular 50 50. Guess what they both taste the same. Food is overrated. I am writing this review sipping on this not worth food here. My first and last visit to this location.
Tried this nice place in New Westminster that was recommended highly. It wasn’t full, for a quiet weekend. Got our orders quick. Food made fresh and really good. I’d come back for another dine in and also likely to try their online ordering.
Perfect place to savour Indian chaat delicacies along with a tasty chai in the heart of New Westminster. Do try their samosa chat with tea (my personal favourites) and you will fall in love with the place. They offer free wifi which makes it a perfect spot for work from cafe. The staff is very polite and is prompt. Kudos.
The bowls and sandwiches here are super tasty – every bite is delicious! And the chai tea is amazing, it’s just the right blend of spices and so comforting. It's definitely worth a try!
Their Karak Chai Tea is the best in Canada . I am from Singapore and, so glad that I could find this store fortunately, got the real taste of Tea I had in Asia . I will keep coming back again and again 😋
This was my second visit to Chaiiwala, and I was very happy with my order. We had the aloo parantha, breakfast plate, gulab jamun cheesecake and karak chai. Everything was really good and I’m so excited there’s finally a good Indian restaurant serving more variety in the area. It’s also not too heavy on the pocket. The customer service was top notch as well.
5/5 Stars I recently visited Chaiwala and was blown away by the exceptional customer service and delicious food! The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure I felt right at home. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and I was impressed by the quality and flavor of my order. Every bite was a delight! What truly stood out, however, was the outstanding customer service. The team's friendly demeanor, prompt service, and genuine care for their customers' experience made my visit truly unforgettable. Kudos to the entire Chaiwala team for creating a wonderful experience! I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for great food and exceptional hospitality.
What a great franchise addition to New Westminster! We ordered a couple of Toasties, a Butter Chicken Wrap, Samosa Chaat, Pani Puri, Gulab Jamun Cheesecake, and 3 large cups of Chai. $59.75 after tax. Not bad for a late evening snack between 4 people. Looking forward to coming back and trying the Butter Chicken Poutine. The chai is quite sweet, but I'm told by my Indian friends that it is very normal in India. Unfortunately not accessible entrance because of a couple steps.
Food was good. metal chairs cold to sit on. Overhead fan too noisy. Another visit 6 weeks later, still the same.
There are no staff here it takes a very looooong time to get the order.
The stuff here needs to be retrained on how to treat customers. This one girl made me very disappointed after I asked her to change my drink as it wasn t as hot as I wanted. I guess her name was Sinran, if she didn t lie her name. However, I respectfully ask to please retrain her.
I recently visited Chai Wala Coffee, and unfortunately, my experience was marred by some concerning issues. Simran, the barista, seemed to be touching her nose a lot while preparing my drink. I politely mentioned my concerns about hygiene, but she didnt seem to take it seriously. Instead, she told me that I could leave if I wasnt happy. I was surprised by her response, as I was just trying to bring it to her attention. I hope the management takes steps to address this issue.
The flavours of the street food items we had were tops. Service efficient and the food portions were good. Food
Chaiiwala has been my go-to breakfast spot for a few weeks now. Everything I ve tried has tasted fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, a great spot to relax and catch up on my work while snacking on delicious food and drinks!
Nice place for chai and snacks in new west
Good people at the counter in this New West outlet, food is always delish at Chaiwala!
Fabulous food and drink selection. Very friendly helpful staff Cheese and chutney sandwich is very tasty
I visited this shop recently, and I have to say their Kadak Chai truly stood out. It was exactly what you d hope for strong, flavorful, and refreshing. The tea had a rich, deep flavor, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice and sweetness.I d definitely recommend trying their Kadak Chai.
I usually visit there with my friends, it s a nice place to visit. Great environment. The tea had a rich flavour . I d definitely recommend trying their kadak chai
Best Chaiwalla ever Love Chai Karak Food
They have bad customer service and behave good with the customers hopefully make it good!
The woman who works here is so warm and kind and it s some of the best tea I have ever had. If you want comforting beverages and kind service please come!
Friendly staff. Clean, modern, and cozy atmosphere. The food is great. I like the Dessi Breakfast the most!
The chai and food is delicious but quite small portions. Great atmosphere. Kind of odd how napkins are behind the counter which is a bit of a pain because their wraps can be messy. Also I noticed that many people (about 6 when I was there a few weeks ago) entered the restaurant and waited at the counter for a few minutes, then left. I know there is a bell at the counter, but I think people dont see it or are too shy. They are losing a lot of business by not having a door chime tell staff when someone enters the restaurant.
Ive been coming to the New West location since opening. Ive been ordering the chai latte with almond milk which is amazing. I was there today ordering a chai latte and was told that they can no longer make my chai latte with almond milk and that I could only have it with regular milk. The girl who was taking my order said that the management told the staff that they can no longer make chai latte with almond milk. I asked her if I could get a vegan chai with oat milk with the chai flavoring to which the girl said no there are cameras and she doesnt want to get in trouble. Very strange considering I was there getting my almond milk chai latte 5 days ago.
Recently I visited this place I had a very bad experience with the staff. Some of them are nice and friendly, but this girl Simren was very rude. Zero customer service. I was ordering Two chai and I changed my mind so I wanted a refund, she swore at me. Overall, very bad customer service. Not recommended at all.
I recently, visited this place had very bad experience with the staff, very rude and egoistic. Really bad custumer service. Not recommanded. Learn how to be respecful to a customer. Also the Chaii is alwys cold and when you tell them to warm it they refuse.
The staff is extremely friendly, amazing work guys keep it up. Specially Ketan.
Although the staff was nice and professional and the decor very nice, the food was horrible. Ordered channa masala and tikka masala which was a combination of cold potato s, chickpeas and cabbage with warm rice and chickpeas curry respectively chicken tikka and fries. Everything seemed reheated except the fries. The tea was ok. I will not visit this this place ever again
The best ever spot for Indian street food!! Love the ambience & customer service. Highly recommend Food : 5/5
A welcome play for a relatively cheap snack, and a good hot tea. Open to 11 On weekends, a big plus for new west...parking somewhat of a problem. Kid-friendliness: No. Leave your kids at home.
I came in here to try it out because I was so excited about its new local opening. We tried the Karak Coffee Frap which one of the worker s recommended and she said it was super popular. This frap just tasted so bad, like it was made completely wrong and just tasted overwhelmingly like just ice with no sweetener and no flavour at all. I kindly asked the staff if they could remake it because after paying over $7 for a drink you would think they would, but they all gathered together and were discussing the issue amongst themselves for so long? And then she said no she won t remake it and just added more coffee to it, which did not help. I ended up throwing it out and we left very disappointed and vowing to not come back to a place that treats their customers this way and lacks quality control. Really dissapointed as I was excited to support a local Indian business.
this place. I try something different every visit. Very helpful and friendly service... I have more to try
I was shocked that a South-Asian guy was allowed to bring his dog inside and sit there for over 2 hours with his large family, the dog barked few times and wasnt even a service dog. The manager knew of this and did nothing, not hygienic, never go here again! 0 stars for service and atmosphere cause of this!
Food was fresh and delicious
Overpriced food and low service quality Hiring paid food bloggers to give good reviews Extremely disappointed Food : 1/5
The food is really nice ...
Love the atmosphere but the food was pathetic. I m Hispanic and I love Indian food and when I m downtown I go in for the Indian sandwiches from Rollzy so I thought this place was the same. I ordered chicken roll and the bun kebab it was disgusting. Save your money if your in Surrey go to chachas tandoor for the wraps and if downtown just go to Rollzy.
New spot, probably the best in the city for chai lovers they stay open late so thats a huge +
The service is terrible. I waited 30 mins for my take out order- an omelette and chia. Food is good, but the service needs improvement.
I have to say quite delicious, however portions is super super small. I thought I would get more than 3 small tiny pieces of chicken in the wraps. Quite disappointing tbh. i only had naan bread with sauce for the first 3 out of 5 bites of wrap. The price you pay at least make the portions a little more filling. The slices of cheesecake, my goodnesss it was as if a regular slice was cut into 4 pieces and sold as one.
What a great taste. I have never tasted tea like theirs. Very much a hidden gem in New Westminster
Overall, a nice experience. The staff were friendly and informative when asked questions about the coffee/food. 1 negative worthy of mentioning is if youre paying an extra $2 for the fully loaded portion of the egg wrap, be sure to check if they actually included the value of that. I had maybe 3-4 little cubes of green pepper and 2 to 3 cubes of red pepper with 1 or 2 pieces of onion. The amount was not worth the extra $2 whatsoever. Vegetarian options: Different variety of vegetarian options to choose from.
Good place in New Westminster to get Indian tea and snacks. I had a good experience with my friend.
Ive been here a few times, there have been occasional hiccups, with ordering, but so far they have always been very quick to remedy any issues. The food is good. The portions are smaller than other restaurants, but the price matches the size, and it lets you try a bit of everything. I havent found anything on the menu I dislike yet. I will mention that getting add ons feel a bit expensive for what you actually get, for some items on the menu. I think for the poutine-like items I only got like a 1/10 of a roma tomato, (barley anything) and same for the cheese, and chillies. Id probably recommend adding your own topping when possible. Was more worth it for their rendition of a grilled cheese. I recommend this place overall. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options, possibly more than non vegi, but still pay attention to description, or ask. I only remember one item not being super clear at first.
It was a fully loaded butter chicken roll. Worst food ever. Nothing was inside
Really tasty drinks. Super high quality oat milk for the vegan chai & I love the takeout carton option - much nicer to take to work rather than juggling 6 cups of chai!
Customer service is outstanding
Highly recommend the karak chai and savoury French toast!
Great costumer service
Friendly service staff named rupinder was very sweet& served us very sweetly
First time going here. Place is immaculate. Tried my first pink chi. Very flavorful. Service was top notch! Will definitely be my first to go to. Food : 5/5
The food is delicious, flavourful and affordable. Service is 10/10 Karak chai is creamy with perfect balance of flavours and the paratha is so soft and flaky It s also very clean, and has nice interior
If youre a chai lover or simply in the mood for something different, Chaiiwala of London is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended! The staff is friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and drinks you get.
Guys, I don t know why, but this place has an A/C that s noisy and very disturbing. The average noise level is 70 dB, which is equivalent to a vacuum cleaner. I really like the atmosphere here, but this noisy environment is driving me crazy. I hope it s just a one-time issue during this visit. Hopefully, they ll fix it by the next time I come, and I ll update my review.
The Karak Chai is amazing and addictive! I also love the veggie kebab wrap.... the yogurt sauce is awesome!
I waited for this cafe to open. Invited my husband to try it with me. He loved it too. We have been hanging out here a lot. I love their mixed pink chaii and karak chaii and their butter chicken roll. Wheelchair accessibility: 1 stair
What a mess of a place. I tried ordering delivery on uber eats twice and cause of the driver issue it didn t get to me. So i again ordered but this time for pickup instead. I went to pick up my order the lady rudely yelled i have already given it twice however they were separate orders. I literally had a pick order. Started showing me the tablet to show me two of my delivery order. However the tablet she was showing first order on it was pick up order that i was there to pick up. I tried explaining that these are separate order. She said earlier you can talk to the manager and then she said he was sleeping when i asked to speak with them.literally the worst customer service ever. Treating customers like s&it and my punjabi is not that good but she barely spoke English. What a mess. Started jumping to punjabi. She literally said oh he is back again with disgusted look on face.
Love the kadak chai. Friendly people.
Welcome to New West. Best KADAK CHAI
Beautifully done interior and food is fresh and amazing right out of the gate! Pink chai tea is also super! Smiling efficient service from all staff, clean tables. We will be back.
Chaiiwala, Chaiiwala, Chaiiwala, A must visit place. A NO TEA PERSON can be a Tea Lover here. Food
The tea is pretty good and tasty. Also the staff is really friendly. They have nice cake. Food
Great food and chaii is amazing!
When for lunch today the staff was very friendly and offered me samples of tea to see what one I liked I had the Chicken Tikka Tostie $8.00 Aloo Paratha $3.50 Signature paratha filled with spiced potato s, served with yogurt mint chutney RG Pink Chaii Tea $4.50 Creamy, Milky pink tea with vanilla and aromatic spice Everything was delicious
Very good chai but food was disappointing. Portion for halwa puri was small and taste was mid. The food tasted like no effort was put in making it. Non Indians might tolerate it but coming from an Indian I will not be eating there again. Please improve the taste of the food. Chai is good.
The stuff is so friendly. Their chai is the best that s gonna be my every morning routine to go there
New to New West! I 10/10 recommend. Indian food done right. Authentic chai tea, so yummy. Food flavours spot on.
Tried the karak chai and samosa, it was too good! Staff is also good with the service, offered us to try chai before ordering to make sure we like! Great addition to the New westminster area!
A welcome addition to new west! The Karak chai is incredibly delicious. Food wise, the beef keema and cheese is a winner. The shells on their pani puri is a bit fancier than other places. The baklava cheesecake was a disappointment though. Tasted like dough and was too rich I couldn t finish it.
Great place to hangout for a quick snack. Food is sub par, came out pretty cold & not fresh! Indian street food tastes best when served hot and made fresh.this felt like a bunch of dishes were microwaved and served. Not up to the hype and expectations.
Great staff
Over visiting from the island and had the opportunity to try Chaiiwala of London On 3 seperate occasions during my visit. I found the food to be quite tasty and reasonably priced with portions easy to eat. The Pink Chai and the Caramel Chai were lovely. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff were very kind and made me feel valued as a customer. Im looking forward to visiting them at the island location once they open in Nanaimo
Went there for chai around 9 pm, there was this huge group of boys maybe around 15-20 of them having collected all the tables and chairs. We sat in the corner. The place was too loud and not very clean for a new location. Overall it was blah. Not a nice spot as I had assumed.
The food was fresh and cakes were light and airy. I wish the mango falooda had a stronger mango flavour and the gulab jamun cheesecake was a little too rich for me. The best part was the awesome customer service and attitude from staff. Even got a complimentary dessert when our food took some time to prepare.
It was the worst lemonade that i ever had . Its just full of ice nothing else . No flavour, no taste
Order hot chocolate but taste like water. The rice is so bad. (Got a replacement since the first one is super dry and the second one taste so bad) dont waste your money to go there
Delicious chai! For an extra dollar be sure to get a large drink
I just went to newly opened chaiiwala their bombay sandwich is soooo yummy, i recommend to come and have quality time with your loved ones with a sip of chaii
We live in the neighbourhood and this is our new favourite place. There is someone for everyone
Ive been waiting for this to open! And I was not disappointed. The service is great and they let you taste samples before ordering. The decor is nice. The karak chai and pink chai are both very good, very flavourful, and have a nice thickness. The pink chai was more on the sweeter side, but thats kinda how its supposed to be. I also had the butter chicken wrap. With the smell and taste you can tell the roti was fresh off the tava and the filling was tasty with a mild warm spiciness. The Bombay toastie was nice too, made with aloo and we could taste tamarind in there. I dont want to drink my own chai now, so thanks for that. Its so great having a dedicated chai place with authentic flavours.
Most astheic location so far, makes the chaii more enjoyable
Our new favourite place for delicious snacks, meals, icecream and drinks. Friendly helpful staff and very tasty food. I cannot wait to introduce friends to comfy Chaiiwalla in New Westminster. Thank you for choosing to open in New West.
The staff is super friendly. The food is Yummy. Their karak chai is special...donot miss it...must visit Vegetarian options: Chat samosa Kid-friendliness: Cakes
Chaiwala has such a beautiful and cozy setting, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Their karak chai with ginger shot is absolutely amazing rich, flavorful, and just what I needed when I have cold. A must visit!
Best chai in town
Vibe is good but not an authentic Indian taste
The karak chai was average not so good not so bad it. Also should focus on their quantity of supply the aloo parathas seemed like they didnt have any aaloo in it and the quantity of yoghurt was too less also in hallway puri the puri werent authentic and the quantity of chana was so less and didnt had any spice in it tho the halwa was good.
Interior is good but the food is not authentic and not worth the price. Egg wrap was very basic like just an omelette wrapped in a tortella
Firstly i would like to appreciate their friendly staff who is very kind, always welcoming and helpful. Place is very nicely decorated with amazing photographs. Ambiance is very nice and its a great place to grab a bite or take out, enjoy time with friends and a cozy place for workaholic. Its always clean and smells aromatic with chai and coffee. Definitely a great spot for cafe hopping. There desserts are super delicious.
The most shitties food that i have ever had I have been to all of their locations same frozen food and no taste. I hope people of Vancouver rejects this kind of food
Tried the chutney cheese sandwich. The portion was very very small for the price. Food
I ordered 2 Aloo paranthas and they gave me only 4 small pieces which are even not enough for young kid.
I recently discovered this amazing coffee shop, and I m in love!! Their pink chai is my new favourite treat, and the owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming! I d highly recommend skipping the coffee at Timmy s next door and try them, you won t be disappointed!
Wanted to try this new place that had a great interior. Spent 50$ and the food was terrible - ordered two large English breakfasts. The bacon was overcooked it felt like eating jerky. The sausage is cheap and so overcooked my fork couldnt pierce it. The hashbrowns are frozen. The only good thing about the dish were the masala potatoes and beans. The chai had a weird taste and was painfully sweet. The coffee tasted like Tim Hortons French vanilla. The manager was just standing in the front on his phone and doing nothing - not welcoming customers in, cleaning, taking orders.
Great service and atmosphere.
Very nice and delicious food, ambience is cool. Simran helped us and served us rellay well.
A very good place with a halal offer of delicious food. The staff is very friendly, especially Simran, who takes the time to explain everything on the menu in detail
The place is overpriced considering the quantity they serve and the taste is not that great . Ordered butter chicken roll there was barely any chicken in it and also the manager is very ill mannered.
I usually visit to this store and had experienced a fabulous food and service by staff as well as alsohaving a good atmosphere
Have not been into the location but have ordered twice from Uber eats and so far theyve been packaged perfectly and taste phenomenal
Really nice staff and food was amazing. Girl named Simran was so nice and greeted me and my friends so well. Must visit.
Absolutely recommend their teas and snacks. One of the best in town. We are so happy that they opened a location in New Wesminster, now we dont have to cross the bridge to get authentic chai and delicious snacks. Their staff is also super sweet and friendly!
Will be good as there other outlets . Best of luck
