Food was ok and has reasonable prices. The gnooki was a bit over cooked but the pici pasta was good. It’s a cozy restaurant, however, their ventilation is not the best and gets very smokey in there. Service was slow and disorganized, as we didn’t know which server was helping us. Throughout the night we saw the same thing happen where customers were not getting menus, water, or orders taken . The only this was the manager was good and tried to fix things but he really needs to train the staff properly .
Service was great. Very attentive and server was checking in frequently to ensure eveything was going well. Food was decent. We ordered the Tartufati gnocchi but the truffle flavor was underwhelming and was disappointed considered it was one of the most expensive dish without any meat. Gnocchi tasted fresh with great fluffy consistency though. We also ordered the Tagliatelle Papalina. The flavor was great but the pasta was not al dente and it was overly cooked and it was way too soft. Overall experience was good.
Their Calamarata Profumo Di Mare pasta is truly a standout among seafood dishes I've experienced. The flavor is simply divine! To top it off, I relished every moment, thanks to the fantastic service and delightful atmosphere. 🤤
I’m writing this review because I hope people can stop being fooled by the 4.4 scores on their Google Maps. Food - Food was horrible, especially the two pasta dishes we got- They are not just flavourless but they simply taste bad. I’m not a good cook but I’m sure I can make better pasta than the food they served us… They have 4 dessert options on the menu, but we were told they only had Tiramisu and Affogato. The so called “Tiramisu” tasted awful and overly sweet. Environment: The moment we walked into the restaurant, we could smell washroom… There were also so many fruit flies flying around us during our dinner. Though the space was wide and my husband and I could enjoy a quieter space (because there were only 2 other groups in the restaurant who sat in different corners), you can tell this restaurant is aged but not well maintained. Service: The lady who took our order and served us was the only good thing about this restaurant. Sometimes if the environment of a restaurant is not clean but the food is tasty, we would probably be okay with it, but this restaurant I really can’t justify the $100 we paid for the poor quality of food we got. Will never be back for sure.
Disgusting amount of flies on the wall as circled in my photo. Makes me worry about how clean the food is. The scallops were not as pictured in the photo. There was 5 in the menu that they shown, but in real life, I was only served 4. The remaining scallops were overcooked and very chewy. The size of the scallops were significantly smaller than pictures as well. The food was underwhelming and expensive. I would not recommend coming back here, although the server was nice.
The food was absolutely disgusting! The chicken I paid $5 extra for never even showed up, and the pasta was the most revolting thing I’ve ever tasted. It was so bad I had to cook again the entire meal. This place is a joke, I wouldn’t order from here again if it were the last restaurant on earth. Only buy here if you want to waste your money. This “pesto” doesn’t even taste or look like pesto sauce and the size of the dish is ridiculous. I paid $35 for this and you can see the amount of pasta they served.
Best place visited for dinner so far. Amazing food, amazing service. Couldn't find anything that I didn't love of this place. Highly recommended for an authentic Italian food experience. (Recommended by an Italian) Thank you!!😀
Went there for dinner with great expectations. Sadly, it didn’t turn out that way. Service was good and food came out quick. The food was nicely presented but everything was extremely salty. We were drinking water for hours after we got home. We ordered the meatballs and 3 different pasta dishes. All were very salty to the point that my kids didn’t want to eat anymore. The bread that was served was also very stale. This is one of the easiest things to execute during service and they couldn’t even do it right. I hope they are able to fix their issues as it appears to have been a very good restaurant years ago. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.
Im never coming back to this place. The service was abysmal. We waited a full hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, our server was basically MIA. To add insult to injury, they slapped us with an 18% mandatory gratuity - for a group of six, including two toddlers! The cherry on top was when we ordered a beer after dinner and had to ask multiple times just to get it. Apparently, the staff was too busy eating their own dinner to bother with our order. Charging 18% for subpar service is outrageous. Get your staff trained before expecting customers to cough up nearly a fifth of their bill in tips.
It took the restaurant nearly a full hour to have our pasta ready from the time we ordered. We weren t a big party either, we only had 5 pasta dishes ordered. The pastas were all bland and absolutely nothing to write home about. The service was lacklustre on top of that as well. This was quite disappointing to us as we had previously ordered take out and dined in multiple times and were quite happy with the quality of the food. It would appear that the quality has gone down dramatically after the ownership change. I would not recommend this restaurant in its current state unfortunately.
Loved the beef carpaccio. The gnocchi in a bacon-onion-cream sauce were good but not outstanding.
Pretty good place, food is good, price is ok.
It s a beautiful place and the food is delicious!!!
Review from recent 2024 visit: I am extremely disappointed in the food and the service. I saw that management had changed but I never expected it to be so bad. I took my friends here stating that this restaurant was amazing and a must try. I am soooo embarrassed that they had to experience this. Not only was the pasta undercooked and the flavours whack as hell, the service was horrible. There was only 2 other tables here on a weekday night and yet not once was our table checked on. Once our orders were taken, the menus stayed at our table. We even had to ask for share plates. Review below from 2021: First time here and i was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. Authentic and reasonably priced too! Our server was a wonderful Italian woman who was great at helping us choose wine & appetizers. Will be coming back.
The food was amazingly delicious. Great ambiance that makes our Wednesday date night romantic.
Really enjoyed the food and the service as wel! Couple of people were vegetarians and they accommodated the changes really well! Food : 5/5
Cozy and charming place with amazing food! The dishes were delicious, though the portions could be a bit bigger. Special shoutout to the wonderful waitresses, Lavinia and Sofia, for their excellent service they really made the experience memorable!
We came here 3 years ago.... i guessed it was sold after walking in the door. Too bad... nasty
Was ok. The service was fine. The server didn t really know the menu and I guess they share tables so the other server that took our order told us I couldn t get on item on the menu cause I have a nut allergy but was told by the previous server that, that item was good to go.
The food at this restaurant is gross, just weird and super bland and not appetizing at all. There were lots of fruit flies on the wall and flying around our table. Food looks like nothing alike in the pictures. Service is inattentive. We won t be back and don t understand how this restaurant can have 4.4 stars it s not good.
Food was delicious and they were so accommodating with an allergy that is generally hard to accommodate. Found a new favourite Italian place!
The food was soooooo delicious!!!!! Vegetarian options: Amazing Food : 5/5 |
Food excellent! Service kind and sweet! Atmosphere very 1980 s in an okay way. I will come back for the food and service. Food
Great place and amazing service. One of the cute places we love going back to
Wonderful fresh food and service!!!
Very impressed by the quality of dishes and excellent customer service! Definitely we will be back!
A nice and quiet Italian restaurant, great delicious food. I recommend for sure.
Best Italian food outside ofItaly . The staff are friendly and its perfect for date night
I came here for my birthday. Food was like soul food. Service was great and Tiramisu Limone was to die for. Definitely will come back.
Great food! Staff is very friendly.
Note to self, when a restaurant is dead quiet its a sign to turn around and leave. Apparently the resturant has changed hands and the management is sinking it into the ground and you can tell! First off, we ordered bacon wrapped prawns and they came RAW. As soon as we got it, you could see how unappetizing it was (soggy gross mess that clearly missed quality control!) Our pasta dishes were lack luster at best. Old spaghetti factory serves more authentic pastas then this dump. Boring and bland, to put tiny cocktail shrimp in your pasta should be illegal. Cut backs are quite obvious in the dishes! Stay far away!
Great service, quiet place on a Monday evening. Authentic Italian pasta.
Good food, friendly service and good atmosphere Parking: Roadside Food : 4/5 |
Loved this place! I love Italian food and I would recommend this place for having a delightful experience with the Italian food 10/10
Had dinner last night. Half the items on the menu were not available. Service was slow and inattentive. Pasta was bland and meat balls hard and over salted. Lemon tiramisu was good. Not sure what s happened here but it used to be really good. Won t be coming back.
Delicious Bruschetta! And the tagliatelle was awesome! Thank you for a lovely dinner!
Good pasta, really nice server! Happy to have spent my anniversary here:)
nice food
Someone has hacked the business account & changed the status to permanently Closed - please ignore.
I was last Friday July 26/24 6 pm with a guest there terrible food I don t think there was a Italian chef at all we had to wait for a long time and it was only 1 tabel there. The food was not good at all later that night 8 pm we drove by nobody in the restaurant that said all I wouldn t go back there It s definitely not a Italian restaurant
Have been here recently, here are my pros and cons.. PROS Gnocchi were very good, I believe they make them in house, some of the best Ive had food was good overall nice atmosphere and look of the restaurant CONS white wine was served warm Caprese salad did not have any fresh basil, but pesto on it found the overall meal to be on the expensive side
Quiet Tuesday night there. Service was great, food was tasty and fast. Our first time there and we will head back again.
Really great salad
Worst food ever
So we never actually got to eat here and since I ve heard that there s been an ownership change, my review is in hopes that the management team makes some much necessary adjustments. My aunt and I arrived on Friday afternoon hungry and looking for a delicious meal and bottle of wine to share. Restaurant was super hot (no air conditioning or ventilation) so we asked to sit outside. Server directed us to a dirty table and I finally had to ask for him to clean it. Brought out a pitcher of warm water for us with chips all over the jug and then we proceeded to wait and wait. Finally we order wine, price list is pretty expensive (150% plus mark up) so we order an Italian Pinot for $47. Server comes back with two different bottles, the only wine he has available in the $70-$80 range which we asked if he could honour the price of the $47 bottle and he declined immediately. No cares given, a flat out decline. A profit still would have been made along with the appies and two entrees that we would have ordered but we left. I get that costs are through the roof for the industry, but to lose two covers and not even attempt to rectify a situation is not how you maintain and run a restaurant and I m a veteran of the industry.
Awesome!
Delicious food and great service. The drinks were also great!
First time visit and wow! Outstanding food, service and atmosphere! What a gem of a place! I will be back!
The pasta was too mushy and soupy. The gnocchi had too much sauce.
Really liked this place! Good pasta and a nice drink/wine selection!
To be fair, the staff was good. They were really attentive and helpful. Even with the decent service I cant justify the price we had to pay for two bland pasta dishes, a lack lustre prawn appetizer and two drinks. When you see the menu the prices seem reasonable - not cheap - but reasonable. The actual product though had better days. We did not finish and had it in to-go containers in the end. Hoping we can salvage it later with a bit of tweaking. To be honest, Ive had better food court fare. The ambience is like a canteen trying to dress up for the prom but that is an insult to most prom venues. I think its a tactic to justify charging their outrageous prices. Maybe in a another life this place was good but our visit today is a total disappointment. I wont recommend anybody to go there - not even people I hate.
Excellent food, great environment. I live close by and will be coming back
UPDATE June 1, 2024 The owner contacted me and it was clear that he had done a full and thorough investigation of the evening to see what had gone wrong. I was very impressed by how seriously he took the matter and appreciated him offering to make it right by inviting us back for a compensated meal. Last night my boyfriend and I returned to Artusi to celebrate his birthday. We decided to order the same items that we had ordered on our first visit (because we never got to try them the first time). Our server was wonderful and she did a great job - she was also knowledgeable and helped recommend a wine to have with our main pasta dishes. The food and drinks all came out in a timely manner and honestly the whole experience was the complete opposite of our first experience. All the food and drinks that we had were delicious - I especially enjoyed the bruschetta appetizer and the wild boar pasta. We had an absolutely wonderful meal. We will definitely be back in the future to support this wonderful local restaurant. ------- April 23/2024 Just wrote out all the details and my browser refreshed and deleted it cant be bothered to write it all again because its a LONG story of poor service. Long story short, my boyfriend made a reservation for dinner for my birthday and we had the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. We paid for his drink (the only item we recieved out of our order of 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 2 pastas) when we decided to leave after 35min of waiting for my drink to arrive. Server blamed it on everything except herself... Only 3 other tables in the whole place had customers (2 came in after us and 1 was almost done when we arrived) and she even blamed a customer that was vegan for the delay in my drink order that was placed 20min before that customer even arrived. Will give full details if contacted.
Food was great. Tried 3 pastas and all were delicious. Friendly staff. Overall a nice experience.
Cute Italian restaurant in New West. Friendly kind service and good food.
Edit: Updating and giving 1 for service as they cancelled by Uber order 30 minutes after I placed the order without any explanation. Disappointing as this has never happened with any other restaurant Food
Food was great! Server was really nice and informative. Left full
We were looking forward to our last meal in Seattle at Artusi as it had rated so highly in other reviews. However the best bit was the happy hour wine at $8 per glass. Its not to say that all of our food was not tasty as my husband has the risotto which was flavoursome, if not a bit small in size. My pasta by comparison was both tiny and lacking in taste... The 12 pieces of ravilonini equated to $2 per piece with the only mushroom taste being provided by those dropped on top. The service was at best, indifferent with the bill being delivered before any enquiry as to whether we would like either more drinks or dessert. The dessert I selected was a custard tart. Unfortunately it came with what appeared to be chocolate sauce but in fact was balsanic vinegar around the edge. When I asked if it was meant to have this, I was told yes. The taste completely spoilt the dessert and despite my best efforts to avoid the liberal embellishment it remained with me until after I left the restaurant. The custard in the tart was minimal although the pastry was crisp and the strawberries tasty, but neither of these components managed to outweigh the vinegar. By comparison the tirimasu chosen by my husband was very good. Perhaps it all comes down to menu selection?!
Solo dining, ordered bruschetta passata appetizer. Very easy to eat. Ordered a orecchette carbonara di mare. very creamy and brings the ocean tastes out. Very much enjoyed this restaurant and will be back.
We had the contadino and the artusie capresse and it was magnifico. We also had the squid ink pasta (substituted the noodles cuz squids are smart) and it definitely hit the carb spot. A couple of these items were on the happy hour menu so value was good because of that. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options.
Food is fresh, authentic and fantastic always. Portion sizes are perfect. A must visit! Parking: Spots out front on the street. Residential parking nearby
We paid 50 dollars for six very small pieces of very pale and flavourless beef (FILETTO DI MANZO TAGLIATA) and that made it one of the worst restaurant experiences we ever had in Vancouver. The temperature was correct, but it lacked searing, almost like the beef came straight out of a sous vide bag. Also the menu said that the dish had potatoes with butter and roasted tomatoes. The tomatoes looked like they were actually dehydrated, and the potatoes were okay, but very dry. Butter nowhere to be found. The mushroom gnocchi (GNOCCHI TARTUFATI) was okay, but they should really be more generous with their portions if they want to charge 30 dollars for the dish. Left the restaurant disappointed and hungry.
Best service I ve ever had.
An enjoyable girls night out.
Food was great. Definitely will go again!
Came for Mothers Day dinner last night. Family really enjoyed ourselves. Good food, fair pricing and very pleasant service. We will be back!
My server liza slayed
The food was great, we came in for a birthday dinner and our server Maria was very generous and knowledgeable.
The food was great and the dessert was so cute! The affogato della casa was delicious. Our server, Maria, was super kind and attentive. We will be coming back for more!
Great food and authentic Italian, cozy and quiet place to eat
Delicious, beautifully presented, staff super helpful, will definitely return!
Quality has gone way down under the new owners. There wasnt enough salt on anything, especially for an Italian restaurant. The Caprese had almost no basil and the sun-dried tomatoes were hard and stale. My go-to used to be the Pici Al Ragu Bianco pasta and Im so disappointed with the dish now. It was bland and the noodles were undercooked. The lemon tiramisu was my favourite thing ever and its a joke now. Never in my life have I had a tiramisu where the ladyfingers were hard, dry and crunchy. I dont know why they kept the same menu when they clearly cant deliver the same quality. Pretty sad since Artusi was one of the only nice restaurants in New West. I dont know if Ill be back anytime soon.
I had the most amazing pasta and focaccia ever!!! The servers were extremely helpful and kind, and the music was so relaxing. Will be coming back once again, it has become one of my favorite spots!!
Great authentic Italian food. A hidden gem. Would come again
Pretty good pasta. Decent wine selection. Really good bruschetta. Would come back. Vegetarian options: They have them
Lovely local date night spot. Will happily return :)
Delicious and wonderful surprise happy hour for late dinner. Relaxed environment and welcoming.
Good was bland. Service was extremely slow even though it wasn t busy. They didn t have the wine on the menu we wanted. Had to ask for pepper. We have been here before and it was really good so must be new chef We will not be returning.
Really good food, nice relaxing vibe, and very sweet and kind people
Pasta was great
Fantastic fare and the drinks were top notch. Would come again and again.
We love this place, the appies, mains and desserts are all terrific, its not loud, and the staff are lovely.
I loved the food, the environment and the service highly recommend the pici al cinghiale
Great food, terrific services and great atmosphere. Love the food . Had the squid ink pasta and it was terrific.
Lisa was super helpful in helping out table understand the menu as well as come up with some seriously solid drink recommendations!
Great service and great foos!
Prices are high and portions small. Food is far from italian cuisine. For $25, a pasta portion, I was expecting something much better.
Amazing food and a wonderful waitress!! Will definitely tell others!!!
Great place for cozy eating.
Food was fresh and delicious. Great for a date night!
Visited for an impromptu Sunday night dinner. Sat right away with no reso. Good wine selection, had the Batasiolo for $65, very reasonably priced and great wine. We had the beef carpaccio for an appy. Was so close to being good, but really missed an acid balance. It ended up being really bland. Then the mains came. My partner ordered a orichette with sausage and I ordered a gnocchi with truffle and mushrooms. The orichiette was fresh but overcooked and swimming in sauce. The gnocchi was what could only be described as a very mediocre mushroom soup. We sent both dishes back and went for sushi. The server was incredibly gracious throughout and there was no issues at all with the service. So kind and attentive!
What a disappointing evening! Horrible service from staff who seemed to have zero training and no common sense. Where was management on a Saturday night? Slowest service and no attention to detail. Food was tasty but very small portioned for what you were paying. Will not be returning nor recommending!
Everything was fine, but I was underwhelmed by the flavour. Pretty cold inside the restaurant. I would advise against the fiore balsamico, it was a very thin piece of eggplant on half an onion. Salad was underdressed. Pasta tasted good but not amazing, missing oomph. Mascarpone dessert was the best part.
Best service in town
Server was very friendly. Atmosphere is amazing. Looks great. Prices are reasonable too Food is average tasting but its fair for the price. And easy to get to if park at Westminster centre Dietary restrictions: There is diary free options if ask server which was great
I would love to have a word with the people who rated this place well. I dont take it lightly to write a bad review on a small restaurant but wow was this place not worth it. My partner wanted to take me here for my birthday as the food looks good and the menu is interesting... Lets just be real, the photos of their food are lies. I got the calamarata Profumo di mare. The pasta wasnt the same as in the picture.. okay fine. But the portion size wasnt even close to similar... And for being a pasta place, having my pasta come out really poorly cooked was a bit surprising. The entree includes squid, clams, and prawns. Mine had 1 small body of a squid. Not even a whole squid portion let alone a decent one. And the prawns were bagged frozen shrimp. Honestly it was shockingly bad. Maybe I should have known better when I heard the microwave go off 3 times while waiting for our food? The carpaccio has a few very small rounds of beef that were unseasoned (not even close to worth being a 25$ starter). The service was mediocre, the server wasnt dressed appropriately at all in my opinion and she just seemed so uninterested and annoyed when we wanted to sit at a 4 seat table rather than a 2 seat table... When the restaurant was completely empty. Why didnt I ask for it to be remade? Why bother. They didnt care to do it even half decently the first place. Dont waste your money.
Such great food they have, took mom for dinner a couple of times and we couldnt stop talking of how good the dishes were. Special shoutout to Maria and Daniela for giving such a great service, they were very nice, kind, welcoming and helpful.
Amazing service and amazing food!
I went for dinner. I tried the pici al cinghiale and it was amazing! The service from the server (Daniela) it was amazing! The atmosphere it was really nice with the perfect music. I recommend the place 100% Food
I love this place!!! The food is amazing. We asked the server Daniela for a dessert recommendation and we tried the lemon tiramisu and I got it for free because we were celebrating my birthday. She was very kind and her service was great. I am totally coming back to try more options.
Street parking. Varied menu, 6 of us and all enjoyed meals. Good $$ wine list, although red served a bit warm. Uneven service, delay of 5+ minutes to get all diners served, although server was great. Will be back for food for sure.
A disappointment I m afraid. The promise of the website and the menu was not realized. The caprese salad was reasonably good although I could do without the sundried tomato. My friend and I both ordered the seafood carbonara and it was quite bland and my friend had very little seafood in her dish. Sadly boring. The kitchen also seemed overwhelmed and so service was very slow although the server was lovely.
Their hand made pasta were good, wasnt impressed with squid ink pasta, we liked gnocchi cipolla and paccheri pomodoo. Lemon tiramisu was interesting too.
Food was outstanding. Service was great too! Will definitely be returning.
Delicious and innovative menu.
What a lovely little place to enjoy authentic Italian food. Ambience is cozy and warm. Service excellent food very good. Prices reasonable. Reservations are recommended only because it is a small place and you want ti be sure to get in.
Daniela was such a lovely waitress, and the music was so nice. Best Valentines
Very welcoming and loved the music. The food was great and the service too. Would definitely come again:)
Great food! The pasta is fresh and homemade. Good menu, it felt very true to the Italian food. I would really like to see better wine list, when serving high end pasta I would expect to 1. Have all the wines on the list (list of maybe 12) and 2. Have more options/ nicer wine options. Would have liked to see port on the menu. Panna cotta was lovely and less eggy than others. I recommend
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. We went there on Family Day and there were only two other tables occupied. We waited half an hour to order, and then our meals came one at a time, several minutes apart. I ordered a salad that cost $18 and was disappointed that it consisted of just iceberg lettuce, kale, a bit of apple and walnuts (I asked them to leave off the red onion). If there was dressing on it, I couldnt taste it. My husband had the beef tenderloin and received five very small pieces with a few potatoes - for $51! The total bill for the five of us, with no dessert and two beer (no other alcohol), was $220. We felt that the service was too slow and it was overpriced for what we got. We wont go back.
My family and I decided to celebrate our Christmas Eve Dinner at Artusi Restaurant, drawn by my positive past experience. With excitement, I brought everyone along, and the culinary journey exceeded our expectations. From the delightful cocktails to the tantalizing bruschettas, AUTUNNO salad, GNOCCHI CIPOLLA pasta, ORECCHIETTE ALLA NORCINA pasta, and the exquisite PACCHERI POMODORO paired with the perfect wine, our satisfaction soared. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates authentic rustic Italian cuisine.
Maria was amazinng, loved the whole vibe and food
Great Brunch and service!
Fantastic food and service.
Great, genuine Italian food! They also have a Tiramisu lemon flavour ! So refreshing
Super cute place with a tasty brunch!
Excellent service, homemade pasta, and I recommend panna cotta and tiramisu for dessert.
Great food! The brunch is delicious and i love how they bake the bread fresh :)
I think this place was sold to new owners because the second time I went there it was really bad. Pasta had no flavour and it smelled like a sewer in the restaurant.
It was obvious that owner ship has changed within the last year as this restaurant has been around for awhile and had fairly positive reviews. Food was terrible. My friends pasta was undercooked and extremely hard, they said they were still experimenting with cook time. I ordered gnocchi and it was soggy and slimy. The sauces of the pasta also lacked balance and were either too salty or too sweet. As soon as you stepped inside the restaurant you could smell sewer. The waiter was nice and friendly but it didnt make up for the poor quality of food and atmosphere.
Found this cute little restaurant in New West. Their Tiramisu Limone is amazing - the best dessert ever, very refreshing! Also love the appetizer Bruschetta & passata. Hope their heater will be fixed soon. Will certainly come back!
Found this hidden gem in New West. The food is amazing! Will definitely recommend.
Excellent food and service. The gnocchi cipolla was great.
Second time coming here. Really authentic Italian food!
Not what it used to be
The food is amazing at this restaurant it s like a party for your taste buds and it s got a laid back vibe which makes you feel very welcoming and the service makes you feel at home. Great place highly recommend for a quiet peaceful meal. The servers are enthusiastic and ready with solid recommendations. Super friendly, ready to make your experience more enjoyable
Gracie was amazing. Food was fantastic.
This is a little known gem. I happened to try it for a solo dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. It s in an older building in New Westminster which adds to its upscale quaintness. White tablecloths and napkins are a bonus, but it s not pretentious - casual attire fits. The food is excellent-some of the best Italian I ve ever had. They start you with a piece of their fresh focaccia along dipping oil and balsamic (which is divine). The only down side is the focaccia is small and you definitely will crave more. I had the wild boar pasta which was outstanding. A delicious sauce and pasta cooked perfectly. My dessert was a heavenly cream covered in chocolate ganache with almonds. Once again this dish was spectacular. If you are looking for a nice evening out try Artusi. If you appreciate good food I know you won t be disappointed.
Very friendly staff
I was really looking forward to visiting for a friends birthday dinner but on our arrival we noticed there was a strange smell. We asked to be seated elsewhere which was accommodated however it was the same. Service wasn t terrible but the service was a bit slow and our server forgot to bring my wine tasting. The food was lovely and had true Italian flavours but the portion was smaller than average. Overall an okay experience.
Really nice food !
Very kind servers, made sure we were well taken care of.
We were here for brunch. Nice Omelettes.
Great food and great atmosphere, great place for a date night
Theres much better Italian food out there. I found my dish, while tasty, lacked cohesion between the long wide noodles and the tiny pieces of pork. The olive oil that came with the foccasicia was also very bitter. This restaurant could be worth a shot for you, but it is kinda expensive and just ok.
Lovely!
The food was good, but the portion is very small for the price, you won t get full, I got disappointed
THE BEST PASTA!!!!!! A must!!!!!! Drooling over the seafood creme pasta!
Incredible food always!
Had a wonderful dinner here tonight. Came for my husbands birthday with friends and enjoyed delicious food and friendly service. The restaurant accommodated my gluten allergy (celiac) very well. The caprese appetizer was very creamy and amazing. The pana cotta dessert with the chocolate was heavenly. Great central new west location. Prices may seem high but portions I had matched it very well. Will definitely be back.
We enjoyed a much needed night off Thanksgiving evening. From our cheerful welcome, to lovely old world charm, great cocktails, perfectly al dente pasta, engaging service, and well-priced menu we were sorry we did not get here sooner. Very happy and very close to home. Support local and support New Westminster.
Amazing service and pillow-soft gnocchi. Cozy atmosphere and playing Italian music (not top 40). A hug for your tummy.
Ordered takeout from here last night, and was sorely disappointed! We had previously dined in the restaurant before and everything was fine except the service was a bit slow then. However, for take out this time, they forgot the chicken add-on in the 2 pesto fusilli, and the pasta portions was so tiny it felt like one small scoop per serving box! The amount of food you get for the price is simply not worth it. The taste of the pesto is good and creamy albeit on the saltier side, but would not order the bolognese again as the ground meat did not taste fresh.
I was enjoying a culinary adventure with my Aunt for my birthday. (She is a chef and I come from a fine dining background). This was our last stop. The plan was to have a classic negroni and carpaccio. What we were served was anything but. Five 3 partially frozen discs of tenderloin with rock salt arrived at our table. In the perfect shape of a pentagram. Lightly dusted in rock salt. A small dollop of butter compressed with unseasoned eggplant seeds, accompanied by Costco arugula mix. No olive oil, seasoning, citrus .. To make it worse. We ordered a plate each at 25 dollars per. We had already struggled through half of our 18 dollar sub par cocktails. So we decided to keep going. The server came to ask how it was. I truthfully and respectfully told her it was awful. And why. She said. And I quote. I would not have ordered that either. She seemed afraid of her boss. I told her the tip was for her. And it s not her fault. Paid 90 dollars. And will never. Ever go back. I felt horrible for the party of 6 that arrived as we left for a birthday. They need to close down and stop robbing people.
The food was delicious
Not very impressed, food was good but quite expensive and our main course took a long time to come out. Two of the beers we wanted they had run out of.
I like the foccacia bread with olive oil that they started us off with. Its a good start. Dishes were a generous portion, price was reasonable, menu selection was good. I was not totally loving the pork belly salad. The dressing was a little heavily poured on the salads so if you dont want to drown your greens in dressing, ask for it on the side. Italian wine was great and drinks were generously poured as well.
Not authentic Italian food. Poor service
The amount of food on the dish, could be more
Delicious!
Great service, great food, great wine we will definitely be back!
What a great meal. Food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Not sure what took us so long to try Artusi but we will be back.
Delicious! I had the wild boar and my partner had the beef and pork ragu and we loved them both! The interior feels like a family members home and the food was well portioned and fresh. Our server, Zack, was super attentive and pleasant! We will definitely be back.
Food was amazing!!! Best gnocchi I have ever had, so light and fluffy!! Service was great and the place is very charming and cozy. Highly recommend!
Good food, good service. Must try Affogato! Food : 5/5
Great, very authentic food! Very attentive service even when short staffed. Try the tiramisu limone - the lemon curd is delightful.
Ive been here 6 times, the food is always devine!!
EDIT: went back for the first time since ownership changed. It s still solid but sadly it s definitely not as good and special as it used to be. We asked the waiter and she said the chef has changed also. Still a nice place but note my review below is from the previous ownership. One of the best meals I ve ever had in Canada. This is absolutely the best restaurant in New West, bar none. The homemade gnocchi and straciatella were highlights but everything is top quality and the service is great too. Will be coming back regularly.
Loved it! Food was amazing, lovely service and playlist on point. Super cozy and perfect for dinner. Food : 5/5
A real Italian experience in uptown New west! Great atmosphere, the service was great and the food is amazing. Food
We had 2 different pasta dishes that were fabulous and Barbera dAlba red wine. The service was excellent. I really liked the ambience of the restaurant. Very European with typical bistro music. I felt like i was back in Europe on a business trip having dinner in a fine restaurant. I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
This was an entirely different experience of Italian Food. We fell in love with the pastas which were very unique! The starters were amazing as well. Although there were not very many options for vegetarians, the chefs were still able to whip up lip-smacking dishes for us by tweaking them a little. It did burn a little hole in our pocket, but to celebrate an occasion, we would definitely do that again Vegetarian options: It wouldve great if the options for vegetarian food was a little more than what they have at the moment, the starters and entrees both.
The restaurant has a very good vibe. Food is good and the waiter is patient with us.
Good meal during an atmospheric river storm in New Westminster.
Was expecting high quality and flavorful food because they had a high Google rating but the entrees were unremarkable. The gnocci especially was very mushy. I just thought our pastas were missing some elements. I m wondering if the ownership changed or maybe it was just our experience that day. For ~$50 pp, I probably won t recommend coming here, unfortunately. The positives: friendly service, cozy ambience and the cocktail I ordered was delicious.
This is no longer an authentic Italian restaurant. My 10 years old can cook a better pasta.Their. choice of dessert was very limited and mostly ice cream in Dec? Never go back there again. Not Italian. Coffee was also old and cold.
Delicious meal with unique choices!
Food was authentic and delicious. Service was fantastic. Our server Zach was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and had great customer service.
I loved here in food n atmosphere. They made real pasta. Homemade pasta noodles n sauce. Highly recommended!! Me n my bf had lovely dinner night
Avi was a great server. She was on top of our requests for me and my gf. The food sucks now. They hire people who don t know how to cook Italian food. I am Italian and cook Italian food. It was so much better back when they didn t cheap out on labour and exploit foreign workers. Literally the most garbage Italian food I ever had, I m sorry. Our server Avi was a great server though, she was awesome. The carpaccio had no bread with it, the beef was cut super thick. The tagletelli was raw and tasted like beef struvinov. Total garbage. But server was a sweet heart so I will give you that. I tried my best not to be a karen!
Really loved it. Literally worth it for the bread alone, like omg
