2024 edit: Ok went back for their regular boneless chicken. Its not that dry. Soy sauce is not as sweet. 2022 Original review: I went to another chicko before and their original boneless chicken was so dry. Soy sauce one was ok. This time, I ordered bone in original chicken at this place. The drumstick was absolutely amazing and juicy, but they use every small parts of the chicken so the rest of the pieces were really dry. I dont get how this is the best fried chicken place when other restaurants like Na-Re exist.

I was really excited to try them I got a taste before my little sister recommended them, a little hard to locate but I got there, lights were off at 9:45, front door still open I come in and say sorry it says it s open until 10 on google the girl at the register informs me last call it s at 9:40 I recommend updating since i had to drive in from Surrey also add more pictures so it s easy to locate

Got original with a sauce on the side and pickles and am glad that I did because yangyeom sauce was very spicy. Not that it was bad but the chicken from bb.q chicken is superior in my opinion.

I got the extra spicy half order of chicken with fries, and it was great! Super spicy which I love! I will be returning for sure!

I like ordering my chicken and fries here. They don t skimped out with their cheese for the shake shake fries.

A decent Korean chicken franchise. My foreign friends really like Chico Chicken, but I dont know why. Maybe its because its a bit cheap... I dont know if the taste is anything special.

please dont put that you are closing at 10pm if you are gonna close at 9 or 9:30. some people thought that they can still come and order at 9:30 but the store is already closed.

2 star rating because they changed the way you order online. Do not use their Order online option cos it s powered by fantuan (Asian skip) My order online ended up costing $3 more than if I called it in. Did not cost extra when I ordered online before.

Love this place!!! Some people might say that it takes a while for the food to be cooked but thats because the food is always cooked fresh and they might be busy with orders. But the workers there are very friendly and accommodating! Great quality, will come back again :) Kid-friendliness: My kids absolutely love the fries and fried chicken!

They deserve their 5 stars, its really the best crispy chicken with a sweet spicy coating that tingles the lips!!! the 1/2 1/2 box perfect for everyone!! for take out or delivery best!!

There was no utensil, towel or anything and sauce was splattered on the bag.

Amazing Korean Chicken. Can never go wrong. Altho pre order your food ahead of time as they cook everything fresh. Takes about 15minutes for their chicken to cook

The portions are smaller now while the price is more. Weighed at 725 grams last order. Used to be 800.

This is the stupidest chicken spot to exist. Can t make a combo with sauced chicken and then they charge you an arm and leg for a sauce. Pathetic excuse for a restaurant. Rather eat KFC and KFC isn t good lol

Great chicken! As others have commented, its made-to-order so youve gotta kill about 15 minutes before picking it up. I always find it more filling than I expect, so while its a bit expensive, I get 2-3 delicious protein-rich meals out of it.

Chicko is my fav KFC. This location has slightly smaller portions than others. I recommend asking for a bit of extra sauce.

The chicken comes out rare, even if you put it in oil and soak it for 10 minutes, it doesnt come out like that, you did that difficult thing.

I have ordered half and half, and the chicken was undercooked, and because of taste of undercooking I couldn t eat. I hope they make sure they cook all the chicken enough so ppl can enjoy it.

Chicken is 5/5 Nearly Perfectly cooked to 160F/72C Super juicy and tasty [got to 165f/74C after 5 min of obtaining. However I am giving the service a 3/5 due to difficulty of understanding me with a lisp Had to call twice, even with the 2nd time spelling my name wrong. And even misunderstanding in person after tipping If coming here around dinner time Saturday; expect some miscommunication and little frustration from service

It was very good, but now only have boneless chicken. we never know how many pieces chicken for half order and full order. Which is like cheating customers. Also the workers are eating and working at the same time. Omg

I like Chico Chicken, so I always order it at other branches. Yesterday, I ordered it at this New West branch, but I felt really bad because each piece of chicken was covered in chicken fat or something. When I took it apart by hand, it was a very large amount. The amount from one piece is incredible. How can this happen when each branch is the same brand? Even if its far away, I think you should always order it at the location you ordered. I liked Coqui branch the best!! I really didnt know it would be this different from branch to branch.

The chicken always tastes great. Super consistent and the price is better than most places. The customer service however, is not as consistent. Although the manager did give us an extra pop because they didnt have radish- this has extended for the past few months and they havent had radish for at least 3+ months. The radish is definitely a staple to Korean fried chicken. Their other locations have radish so Im not sure whats going on. One time, we tried calling in to order and the person at the front answered and then hung up on us. When we proceeded to call back, the line was busy for over 10 minutes. Its almost as if they left the phone off the hook and avoid phone calls. We love the chicken here so we kept trying. We ended up having to drive there and order in person. Recently, I phoned and ordered a full order of chicken. When we got there, we only had a half order and they couldnt make any more since the kitchen had closed. We had to buy subway in order to fullfil our stomaches. There is quite a difference in the amount of chicken in the half vs. full order and you get a better deal too. We were very disappointed as we had been looking forward to it. If youre looking for great Korean fried chicken but inconsistent service, come here.

Best chicken ever and good customer service

Very good chicken!

I had to wait for 20 minutes, but the wait is worth it!! Chicken was crispy and juicy. The servers were also extremely patient seeing how they stayed calm even as they juggle between demanding customers like myself and taking online orders during rush hours.

Placed an order, specified 3 seperate times I want 2 meals. Not sure what they charged me for but it ended up being twice the amount it should have. Not impressed with the service. The Langley location is much better.

I ve heard about the hype of KFC and finally today I m able to try one. My coworker recommended the cheese flavour, so I got the half size cheese. They made it fresh so there s a bit of a waiting time, mine was about 15 minutes. It taste delicious and I will be interested in trying out more flavours in the future.

Portion size is smaller than it used to be. They have also stopped including the radish and pop with the full order as before. When I asked for a receipt they were unable to provide one, nor is a there a price list anywhere in the store. For a full order of half and half I was charged 30.43, thats quite a bit more than the 25$ on the leaflet. Staff could not tell me the price of the item I bought....

Their chicken is good but they don t have bone in version which was a bit sad for me. They don t have a combo like the other chicko chicken stores do.

Ordered half of haek buldak but did not get the free pickled radish as advertised! Maybe that s discontinued. Quantity was pretty good. I couldn t finish my half order in one go. I like that it s freshly cooked even though you have to wait 20 mins. As far as the chicken is concerned, I was craving something extremely spicy and haek buldak did deliver. What I did not expect were some sweet tones in the sauce along with the spicy ones. Can t say I liked that much, I was looking for something just spicy in a non-sweet way. The chicken was nice and tender. Would go again to try some other flavour.

Im a big fan of fried chicken & this is def. 1 of its best korean fried chicken I can find nearby. Super crunchy for the skin, juicy - moist for the meat and so flavourful!! It was such a pleasure day with Chicko Chicken. Would be my most visit store once craving for comfort food!

We had the original recipe. The chicken including the white meat pieces were nice and moist while the coating was crunchy. The chicken is made to order so expect a wait during busy times. Call in your order then travel to the location. For locals hopping off the skytrain, place your order, chill at home then walk over to pick it up.

Food is good and nice people but wait was long. I call ahead, they said 30 minutes. Went there in about 25 minutes but waited another 30 minutes. Very busy so call ahead but I enjoyed the food

Wow! One of the best fried Chicken ever that I tasted. As someone who loves spicy food, this would be my go to from now. The food was ready for pick up in 25 minutes. As a newbie to New West, was lost trying to locate this store but it s inside the sky train building.

Absolutely delicious, and a welcome addition to the new Westminster food scene! Chicken is fried to order, so keep this in mind. We phoned ahead and got a half & half box to sample a couple different flavours. The chicken was crispy and juicy, and the two flavours we tried - soy & garlic and Yangyeom, a sweet & spicy delight - were great!

Order in the app. In the photo. Boneless half cheese snow half soy garlic. Not sure why the app did not have bone in option but store had.

Anyone who complains about this chicken or how they run their business should go eat out of a dog bowl. The chicken is amazing, no matter how many times Ive had it I keep going back. For deepfrying, it is the freshest you will ever find. My advice is to call and order 20 mins ahead or you will sit and wait for your fresh chicken to be prepared. The fat they cook with is constantly fresh and the chicken doesnt hold much grease. If you have not experienced this chicken yet you are missing out. Great prices, great flavors of chicken, and excellent staff. Now go eat some chicko chicken.

Its tasteless, its hard to taste bad chicken, but it does the hard work, its not beef, but the chicken comes out medium rare.

The staff is incredibly patient and accommodating to their customers. Its well worth the wait as their chicken is always made fresh to order. A great place to dip in for a tasty meal.

Bone-in Chicken Leg was under cooked and pink. Disappointed in the meat quality :/ Probably boneless is better since their fried batter was crispy and good. Sauce is nice and spicy.

Disappointing. They mustve forgotten the seasoning in my chicken as theyre bland. Even the radish tastes blah. Ordered full Original and half Soy Chicken. We usually order from the Guildford, Surrey location and their chicken there is superb. Will not order from this location again.

Overrated, we ordered bone in, they gave us bone less, the batter is not crispy at all, church chicken is better. Please improve the receipt, I don t think I will order there again.

Chicken and fries are all colde when delivery, pickle was not good at all and so salty and so disappointed now As you know i always review very clearly and specifically and realistically, so this is really not good for me at all
