We came on a busy night and they mixed up an order and forgot one. The did rectify the issue in the end. They tried twice to rectify the cold hard fries that come with the sliders but wasnt happening.

We went to Match for a bite to eat, a couple drinks and maybe some pool. We sat at the bar which had no one else sitting at it. We waited well over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by the bartender who looked at us a few times but never came over to ask if we wanted something, instead he went out of his way to pretend he didn t see us. When we finally got tired of being ignored we left, I mentioned to the host and hostess at the front that their service was not good but they just ignored the comment and kept on with their conversation, even after I stopped and stated again that their service service was lacking. That was a half hour with no one even acknowledging us. Will never be back to this location again. Too bad because I live in the area and would frequent if there was any service at all.

Sunny did a great job. Fries are good. Nachos were good. Generous dips. Tuna stack was good. Sliders arent great. Excellent atmosphere

Within this 12 years, we usually ordered steak, 70 percent over cooked, need changed, today same experience, wait for 30 mins, so disgusting, never change, never back.

Ally was an incredible server and went out of their way to get the ingredients to make a couple of requested cocktails for us in the Budweiser Room. Additionally, great recommendation for food and very personable. Would 100% return with the same server any day!

Pretty bad experience last night. Upon entering, the hostesses saw me but continued talking to each other instead of greeting me, I had to find my friends table on my own. Had to ask my server for water three times before I finally got it. My friend at the next table (same server) also asked for water three times, and he didnt even get it. She was very quick when we asked for the bill though. Food tasted fine but presentation was poor, looked like it was just randomly thrown onto a plate. Understand it was a busy night but poor service is still inexcusable.

Unfortunately I don t have a full experience to share. I came in for late lunch/dinner with my mom , I came in before her to grab a table as it s game day and I knew it would be a bit busier. I was seated right away but did not receive any service for the first 15 minutes. I watched the server go to another table multiple times and not once acknowledge that I was sitting there. I got up and walked to the bar to ask for a server to which he replies yeah yeah I m coming I said okay but it s been 15 minutes yeah yeah coming Took him another 5 minutes to come to the table we ordered our drinks (I ordered a Caesar- he never asked for ID and a water and my mom got Coke Zero and water) the pop and Caesar came but waters did not. The drinks also took a long time by the time they came I was pretty done and over this. He set my Caesar down infront of me then proceeded to ask me for ID AFTER he already served me. I told him to cancel everything and we will go eat elsewhere. Instead of realizing his service was the issue he kept repeating he has to ask me for ID. To which I mentioned it s not about my ID it s about your lack of service and the attitude that is going along with it. He clearly is overwhelmed and not experienced enough to be serving in a place such as this. I also put blame on the management who put 1 server on during a busy time and have the staff respond with sorry you can see it s busy instead of being a team and picking up the slack

This place deserves a ZERO. I attempted to order takeout. The gentlemen said go to the bar they will take your order. The plan was to order a simple to go meal and have a beer while I wait. Wait 15-20 mins bartender served others while ignored me. Went to the guy who told me sit down. Asked if I could speak to the manager, he me. told he is too busy. There is your answer they dont care about Customer service at all. They just want your money. Come on how busy are you to deal with service issues not coming back thats for sure.

First time coming to Match and I can honestly say that I will gladly be coming back! The nachos were amazing and the service was spectacular. The male manager, Brandon, was a super nice guy! I don t normally go out of my way to name drop on reviews but he was an awesome guy, super attentive and definitely knew how to run the show. Looking forward to coming back.

They removed the veggies, potatoes and gravy from their NY Steak dinner and replaced it with fries with burnt crap on the fries and raised the price 4 bucks. YUCK. Where can a guy get a real steak dinner around here?

I have been to Match on a number of different occasions over the years. The staff is always very friendly and interacts with us appropriately. Sometimes we come after work for dinner, weve done lunch meetings here, and weve also come for larger group functions with kids. Each time, we have been very pleased with the food and level of service weve received. Food is pretty decently priced, with good flavours. Only downside weve encountered so far is that their kids meal burger is pretty small (its slider-sized), so maybe dont order that . I have a sweet tooth so Im particularly drawn to their desserts. Their chocolate cake is rich and fudgy. If you like a good chocolate cake, do order that! Our latest function here was a 50 person gathering (kids and adults) and I want to give a shout out to Connor, Mattias and Alex for being so great to all of us, even the kids! They took good care of our group; We didnt have to worry that our kids were too loud for the other customers and they gave us a room that was the perfect amount of space for our number. They even put out some games for the kids to keep them occupied. Its always a great experience to dine here!

A group of us went in for dinner tonight for a birthday celebration and we could not have been more disappointed. We had to look for a server to get some drinks. When we asked the bartender a few questions, we felt like we were bothering him as he was leaning on the counter on his phone. Food order was taken quickly though and the food was great!! We had no checkbacks while we were eating so we had to hunt our server down for more drinks and condiments which showed up once we were finished our meals. We had planned on staying and buying dessert and shots and a couple of take out orders but gave up as we were running out of time and were honestly tired of trying to find our server. Almost all of us at the table are or have been servers so we understand things can get hectic but there were only a few other tables. Once we got our bills I was stunned to see a tip added on to the bill already. I have no issues with that normally but with the service we recieved I felt that I had to tip the server for doing the bare minimum. We all left extremely unhappy but with all the money we saved from not getting more drinks and dessert, we had more money to gamble with so I guess win/win anyway, I wish I remembered our servers name. It was a gentleman, and we were a table of 10 at 630pm on Sat August 31st

Came back for my Mom s birthday- while our server was very polite she was quite slow. Drinks were not refilled in time and the food took longer than usual to come out (45 mins) . My son s kid size pizza was ordered before the rest is the group but was not served until all the food came out and my appetizer, which I asked to be served first, came with the entrees. My brother in law s salad was taken by another server and he waited another 15 mins. Unfortunately the gratuity is automatically added for large groups so you are stuck with the wait and less than stellar service. Hopefully it s better next time We love coming to MATCH for easy dining and lots of menu selections. It s also family friendly with options for kids. We recently reserved the Keg Room for a private event and it was great service.

This used to be a nice place to watch live sports, but on the contrary, horrible food experience, Ordered nachos, but the cheese they were smelling, then ordered chicken wings that were just socked with oil and inside were pink , Then we ordered yum fries that came with chipotle sauce made with mayo salty chipotle flavor , they used to have good steak with mashed potatoes, but now they changed with fries .. terrible! Gotta find another place .. I m out

The dining experience was enjoyable due to the delicious food and reasonable prices. However, the presence of flies landing on our plates and throughout the bar area was a nuisance and detracted from the overall experience. The establishment would benefit from implementing fly zapper traps to address this issue.

Salty! Everything is so salty. Recommend the chef getting his taste buds checked. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

My friend and I stopped by to have a late lunch on the way back from work. We were pleasantly surprised by the service! Gill the server was fabulous, very friendly and attentive.

We ordered the fettuccine alfedo with shrimp and the special bbq platter. The pasta was overcooked, bland, and mushy. The garlic bread served with it was hard as a rock. The bbq platter meat was very bland, and the sides served with it were cold. We sent the pasta back and asked for a side of fries, which were also overcooked and hard. The service was very poor, and the server was unconcerned with our complaints. We have eaten at other Match restaurants and the food and service was subpar when compared. However, the sticky toffee pudding was amazing!

I come to Match quite a fair bit and Ill tell ya, the food is pretty hit or miss. For example, the Cajun chicken could be juicy and tender one day but dry and overcooked the next time I would visit. The atmosphere is pretty average at best with a good amount of TVs to watch sports in a large space. Although, the tables and chairs are damaged and ripping apart. Lastly, the service here is pretty average. I have noticed that the morning staff are a lot friendlier than the staff that have served me at night. One server though, Terry, has stood out to me the most. I would say 75% of the time I come in, I see him seating customers, taking orders, making drinks and delivering food. Doesnt this place hire enough staff? I cant help to feel sorry for the guy when it gets busy and I see him running around, but he still serves us with an amazing attitude and accommodates us if there is anything wrong with our orders. Overall, I would have rated Match 3/5 stars but Terrys hard working service brings it up to 4/5 stars.

Had hot chicken wines and fish and chips. Fish was fresh, lightly battered and crisp. Very good quality and tasted great. Home made tartar sauce was very good, too. Came with crispy fries (chips to you Canadians), and a light coleslaw. Came with 2 large fish pieces, so we split it. Had the game day wings as an appetizer, tossed hot sauce, with excellent blue cheese dressing. Very nice meal for 2. Plus it was happy hour, so our Stanley Park Amber beers (our favorite) were discounted, too. Really enjoy Match Pub! Service is friendly and attentive, atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. We vacation here every year for a month and this is our go to place.

I received an email and checked on the website, driving 15km Wednesday for the music bingo announced. The restaurant was empty, dark, and the server said that this event was on hold. The menu looks overpriced and the place abandoned. You should at least update the site.

Very bad service. Im also tired at 10pm and I walked in with the smile to get my food. I mentioned two times, please put two sets of utensils. I was forced to look for someone to help me with my pick up order. Even then I saw my food standing there for no reason, after I paid. On my way out I checked for any evidence of utensils, unsuccessfully. So I took some from the hostess stand, I dont think that you would care to lose a couple of customers or couple of utensils, or both The food though was okay

I hate hate hate how loud the music that sometimes we dont come there and when we do i wear ear plugs but its such a nice atmosphere with the seating is awesome. The pitmaster BBQ thats only during the summer was absolutely epic. I just came from Montana where they specialize in bbq just like that and this was so much better at match. Had smoke, taste, flavor, juicy! Tops off to those chefs!!!

I cant say enough good things about Match Eatery and public house! The food was absolutely delicious, and the waitress provided excellent service. The environment was amazing, creating the perfect atmosphere for a wonderful dining experience. While there was a small issue with the bill, the manager promptly resolved it and even went above and beyond by offering a credit voucher. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and cant wait to come back soon! A big thank you to the manager for their exceptional customer service.

Service was good, food was terrible..poutine was bland and cold, chicken and waffle sandwich was cold, and not a sandwich..just 2 waffles with chicken pieces on top. The biggest complaint is the lousy cold food.. eating out I expensive and if im spending my money to eat out, the least you could do is make it hot.. that would have been nice..instead of serving up hard cheese curds and cold waffles.. not sure if well go back again..shame since we live 5 minutes away. Server was the only good part of the visit.

Went in to Match to watch the hockey game. It was very busy. We sat at the bar, and were served by Anika. Despite the place being filled to capacity, Anika took care of everything. The blackened chicken sandwich was very good! Highly recommended! Thanks we will be back!

I had my birthday here. And we had more people than we had booked for but Marisa looked after and was amazing. Normally, we would expected not to get the attention and service we received because it was just her and 40 of us. But she stepped up and recalled came through. I dont usually write reviews, but this time I am rather upset and disappointed by the misrepresentation and bad service received. To be fair, there is no complaint with the food or with the atmosphere. Where Match Eatery fell short is with their attitude. We ordered 5 entree items, one of which was the kid bacon cheddar burger, ordered for my child off the kids menu provided to us by the hostess at time of check in. To our surprise, when we received the bill, this kid-menu burger was charged at regular menu price plus an addition charge for the bacon. When we questioned our server why the kid-menu burger was not charged according to the kid-menu pricing, she replied that she tried entering it as a kids burger but was unable to doing so, as it (the system) wont allow. There was no elaboration of the reason, nor was the issue communicated with us either at time of order or at any time until asked. The server indicated that her shift was over, gave a helpless look, and left. We paid as charged, but I am still unsettled by the pricing bait-and-switch, the servers lack of concern to communicate, and her lack of interest to address the issue.

Everything was good. Not great. Servers should be more attentive. Would NOT recommend ordering the Calamari.

We went for the UFC 300 event. We booked a table for 10 the week prior to ensure we would all be accommodated. We showed up 30 mins early to find out that they had given our table away. The manager was excellent and made sure to correct the issue by getting us all seated and offering us a free round of shots to make up for the confusion. Unfortunately we had Jerrica as our waitress. The most hideous behavior Ive ever experienced by wait staff. We asked for another chair for our table and she responded yeah I heard you, Im working on it we only asked once. A lovely busboy came by and brought us a chair immediately, and Jerrica never came back with one. I accidentally spilled my drink so I cleaned it up with napkins. My friend then asked her for a wet cloth to wipe down our table and she responded Im not a janitor. I ordered another drink to replace my spilled one and I jokingly said to her I wont spill this one, her response I could care less what you do. These are just a few jabs that we received from the endless night of them from the most unprofessional waitress Ive ever encountered, the lovely Jerrica. I guess service goes completely out the window when youve got an auto gratuity added on the bill. Ill never be returning.

Went to have drinks yesterday Feb 22, we waited for more than half an hour for our drinks and it wasnt even busy. Whenever I looked at the bar, the lady bartender was just chatting with her one customer.

Went here on a Saturday night for a birthday. Ordered food and drinks. The drinks came in fair time but unfortunately after waiting over a hour and a half we were told they forgot to input our order. We had salt and pepper wings which basically came out without seasoning and the chicken on the nachos tasted as if it were microwaved and boiled. If it wasnt for the friendly staff and the quickness with our drinks everything about this place would be a one star or less imo.

Went there for my teens birthday. Started well, service was good and when we mentioned it was their birthday she mentioned they would have birthdays free desert - which they got quite excited about it. After our food arrived it all went downhill, we were abandoned for nearly 1 hour - and obviously never offered us desert again as they just disappeared. We tried to entertain ourselves with the game of pool but it was just all too much, really ruined our day. Not cool, specially we noted this was a special occasion for our family and the place was not even too busy. We tried to get other servers to help but one more rude than the other, they all made me feel bad we were trying to pay our bill. We tried to get her attention several times after still but were completely ignored so we just walked to her and asked to pay. Food was not that great either but probably the experience just ruined all. Really liked the location being close to our home and was hoping to be our new local - but definitely not going back and dont recommend, unless you want to be ignored by servers and have average food.

I had one of the best experiences of my life here. I threw my highschool reunion and SUNJAY made it his mission to make it the greatest night. He was helping everyone and making sure they were all happy. The food was top notch and the bartenders kept the drinks coming. Keep it up!!

Decent food, but unfortunately recent renovations has made it hard to see the larger TVs... Also, its all but impossible to get through via the phone and its been like that since Ive moved into the area over 2 years ago. Overall, kinda disappointing.

Overall experience was average. Food was generally okay; not bad but not great. Tried the spegattini with garlic bread. The meatballs were a little salty while the spagattini itself was bland. Garlic bread was a little too dry and crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside; likely indicative of being slightly stale. Overall the flavours were not bad. Server was attentive but didnt have great knowledge in their menu selection when asked; more specifically on their drinks. But no matter what the server wrote down the ingredients and brought back what we asked for which was appreciated. Enjoyed their whisky Negroni. Good place to come watch sports or grab a quick bite and drink. Also nice that its conveniently right by the casino.

Had our Xmas party in the Bud Room. Connor and Ally were welcoming from the start and took excellent care of our whole party. 10/10!!!

Place is poorly run. Management does not care about customers. We called and asked if they were gonna show the Canucks game and San Fran game. We were told yes, so we decided to go to match and view games and sold our Canucks tickets. We got there at 3 pm and asked what TVs game would be shown on. We Sat where both games would be played. There were 12 of us there please plus another 6 customers. They played the 1 st period of hockey game. But refused to split the hockey and football game up in our section. They elected to play the UFC. We consulted with manager and he told us we have to show UFC the other games dont matter. We said nobody in this section wants UFC please put hockey and football. He refused and told us he has to play UFC. We talk ld himnwe sold our tickets to watch games here and we have more people coming. He didnt care. We left the match and went somewhere else. Not only did they loose our sales plus the other 18 people that joined us. Poor call by management

I hosted my husband s 30th birthday party over the weekend in the pay per view room at Match in Queensborough and I really could not be happier with choosing this venue! From the beginning of me booking it, to finalizing details, and the actual day of, I was met with superb service from the staff. A special shout out to Alex, Ally, and Gill for making the night run so smoothly and for being so kind! Everything was already set up when I got there, including the tables, speakers, mic, and the big screens which we used for a slideshow and games. I was especially impressed with how fast the food and drinks came out considering how busy it was that night. I heard wonderful things from all of our loved ones and have already gotten questions from them wanting to book for future purposes. For 45 people, we hit just over the minimum spend and I can confidently say it s one of the best venues you can get to host a good amount of people without breaking the bank. We had a great time!

Food was surprising good considering it is a casino restaurant. Dirty fries was indeed dirty greasy goodness. The pull pork mac and cheese was a banger. Cherry on top is our server - Hunter went above and beyond to make use feel welcome and hook my buddy up with a birthday cake. Highly recommended!

Had a fantasy draft in keg room with Damara tonight and she was great! She recommended the chicken tacos and they were excellent. Thank you to chef Chris for making such bomb tacos. Will definitely be coming back.

You can t really beat this place if you re aiming to catch a sports event. Massive screens in 2 locations plus big screen tvs pretty much everywhere else. However make sure you make a reservation for anything major. Being unaware you could make reservations at a sports bar I arrived when the place was pretty much empty to get a good seat to only realize that almost the entire place was reserved. I got put in some booths that had neither a good view of any of the large screens or were close enough to any of the tvs unless I wanted to crane my neck around and watch the one right above my head (which I did sometimes until my neck began to protest). Otherwise the service was excellent. Actually it was what I would consider perfect service. Jill was our server. Nothing to write home about but also nothing to complain about regarding the food. My major (and still relatively mild) complaint is the selection of beers. VERY limited unless you re ok with the basics domestics and imports. Ie. Budweiser, Kokanee, Stella, etc. The only beer on the menu that even comes close to satisfying those with more discerning brew palettes is Mill Street Lager but that ll set you back $7.50 for a bottle the price of a pint of local craft beer anywhere else.

Match used to be my favourite place! I have no idea what happened to their food quality. Prior to Covid their food was so good. Been back a handful of times and the food has just gone downhill. I hope this changes soon.

Had brunch at matches. Had bacon & eggs. Wife had prawns Benedict. Swiped loyalty card got 2 for 1 matches coupon. Very nice breakfast. Less expensive than the buffet. Better food than the buffet (looked but did not try the buffet).

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Match Eatery & Public House! The burger and dirty fries I ordered were beyond amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection with a juicy, flavorful patty and fresh toppings that made every bite a delight. The dirty fries were a savory indulgence, perfectly seasoned and loaded with delicious toppings. The atmosphere at Match Eatery & Public House was inviting, and the service was top-notch. I cant wait to return for another delicious meal! Make sure to look for Soni for amazing service!

Only one person sitting people. Took a long time before anyone came to seat lineup of people waiting for a table and restaurant was empty. First table we sat at, the top of table spun like a lazy susan??? We changed tables. We sat at table and the chairs were peeling - need replacing. Been there twice, first time nachos were awful, cheese wasnt very good. This time I had a clubhouse sandwich that was okay. Server was very nice and professional. Dark atmosphere, could use some new seating and brightening up to entice people. Free parking because it is attached to a casino. I wouldnt go back for the food and dingy atmosphere. Parking: Plenty of parking.

I came to visit for my bday party, and ended up ordering a garlic shrimp Alfredo to go. Once I got home and ate it I realized that the pasta was severely undercooked and the shrimp as well. Disappointing as it was me and my girlfriends first experience at this match location.

Damara absolutely crushed it. Shes funny, professional, gives great service and shes super pretty in top of it all!! Winner, winner chicken dinner.

Just finished our annual fantasy hockey draft at The Match Eatery. Service from Damara was outstanding, attentive without interrupting.

We have visited on sep 30th 2023.. Taste was ok but not that much good. I have tried Veg Pizza. Prices high. Other teammates were tried some other Dishes like Sandwich,. Overall taste ok. Clean environment and friendly staff. But have to wait at reception

Hadnt been for awhile, so perhaps things have changed. I used to LOVE the nachos. The price has increased, no big deal, its expected. But WOW...I was not expecting cheese whiz instead of real cheese.!!.I paid an extra $4.00 for beef...but it ridiculous how little there was. I had to ask if they forgot. Do not cut back on quality and increase prices. NOT impressed.

Wanted to like the place as they have pretty good screens to watch games. Regrettably they were short staffed that night and most likely impacted everything from the first greeting to the service and the food. While our waitress was cheerful she was just slammed. Calamari was non existent as it tasted like fried cheerios. My steak sandwich was nasty and the seafood pasta was as salty. Worse of all my beer was warm! We appreciate how the waitress wanted to make things up but we needed to go therefore we had to decline. Update Oct 2023 to give it another chance. Again disappointed. If you are going to charge an arm and a leg for a puny pizza, don t skimp on the toppings. If customers ain t happy to see value and tummy happy how are we wanting to come back?

Caught the Sunday night game with a group of 25 and had awesome service from Hunter and Co. Great atmosphere, service and food. Hope to get another group together soon. appreciate you guys accommodating our large group!

Ordered glass red wine , didnt have enough for 9oz so accepted 6oz except since end of bottle that had been opened for no one knows how long was bad. Ordered ultimate club ! Can you say eek? Sent it back didnt eat anything else. So big avoid on this one . Staff were very friendly .

This Match location has always been quite mediocre in comparison to other locations, so we went into it with pretty low expectations. However, it was an awful experience all around. From the $20 salad that was literally just a big bowl of lettuce with overcooked shrimp that tasted like it had freezer burn prior to being defrosted, to the over fried oily fish and chips, to the slow service. A $20 dinner salad should be filled with other ingredients- not just lettuce. We were done our meals for about 15 mins before the server even walked over to check on us. She was busy standing around chatting with her colleagues at the bar the entire time. The happy hour specials are not worth the price either. $6 for a tiny taco with a few over fried tots. We will not return to this location again.

We had our work christmas party here on a weekend and we had a really great experience. There were some small mistakes from the staff but it was acceptable as we were 20+ guests. Shout out to Sanjay who was very helpful/ accommodating. Great customer service and great ambience!

Placed an order for delivery through skip (2 dinners, 2 bottles of wine for $100+). Delivery said 90 min, fine. Waited for 2 hours, now delivery says another 100+ minutes. Tried calling 8 times over the last hour with no answer. Complete garbage service, and it ruined our night.

Aweful service came at 9 to eat waited in the bar for 18 min. And when they came to get my order said the kitchen was close already

We had a family Christmas party with about 60 people. Marissa and hunter were our servers/bartenders for the event. They were absolutely amazing and very interactive with the entire family. Super friendly and very organized. The entire staff at Match was fantastic and made our experience awesome. Will definitely be going back !

We just hosted our staff Xmas party at Match Starlite. Ally, Matthias and Richelle were assigned as our bartenders/servers. Had such a great experience. They were on top of everything, friendly and professional. Service was absolutely fantastic and we ll definitely be back again. Chris in the kitchen did a great job with the food. Everything tasted great and came out piping hot. This is our 3rd event at this venue and we ve had nothing but good experiences. Brandon had taken the lead as a manager and again, nothing but great service. Highly recommend for your next event.

The service by Ally, Matthias and Richelle was top notch for our Christmas party. They were attentive yet discreet, and our needs were well met. Chris did a great job with the food - the roast beef was SO amazing!! I highly recommend Match for any party or get together!
