The best sushi place in town! We started with gomaae, and the house-made sesame dressing was so incredible (everyone should try this as an appetizer!). We also had sushi - the house special roll, hot night tuna roll, and toro aburi nigiri. They were all fresh and flavourful, especially the healthy pink sushi rice, which made them even more special. Not to mention, the staff and owner were friendly, and the interior was clean, making the dining experience a pleasure. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place.
The food was incredibly fresh, and everything tasted amazing! The sashimi was, of course, delicious and fresh, and the tempura was so crispy that I could tell they used clean oil. All the staff were very friendly, making it a wonderful dinner experience. A big thank you to all the staff~^^
My family and I had a great experience in this restaurant. Japanese restaurants are usually expensive so considering their menus pricing, it’s worth it. The presentation of the food is good, and the signature pink rice is cute. The quality of the sushi matched the presentation, which made the meal overall satisfying to eat. We left feeling satisfied and would definitely recommend this place to others. 🍣
What a gem of a neighborhood sushi spot! Every dish we tried was fabulous, and the service was exceptional. The staff were super friendly, and the sushi was incredibly fresh. The appetizers or dishes other than sushi were also amazing. My top three favorites were the gomae, angry jalapeno, and aburi toro nigiri. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place to others!
Great sushi place! The food quality was exceptional and every dish we had was delicious. The service was great as well. Only positive things to say about this restaurant.
I recently dined at Sushi Well with my wife, and it was a fantastic experience! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. What really stood out though, were the handmade sauces. Each sauce was incredible, enhancing the flavors of the sushi without overpowering them. I would definitely recommend Sushi Well to anyone looking for top-notch sushi and a delightful dining experience.
I've been a regular costumer of Sushi Well since its days at the previous location, and they consistently deliver a wonderful dining experience. The sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the service is consistently attentive and friendly. Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, you can expect prompt and efficient service. Overall, Sushi Well is a fantastic choice for anyone craving great sushi in a welcoming atmosphere.
WELL let’s see… If my memory recalls, I first went to the old location a decade ago and visited this new location when it was first opened not long ago. I decided to give this place a revisit since mama here was kinder than the food I tried. This new location is located on 6th Ave and 6th Street in New Westminster. There are both free and paid street parkings through the surrounding streets and area. Inside the restaurant is freshly renovated; dining area at the front with sushi bar and kitchen to the back. Its a bit smaller then the old location but still okay size and comfortable. Here were the food I ordered this time around; 1. Tuna toro sashimi. The portions were generous, the taste was buttery and fresh. 2. Salmon sashimi (1/2 order). Pretty fresh and tasty (I personally preferred the Atlantic salmon more than the sockey) 3. Prawn tempura. Nice light crisp batter, the prawns were of good size and it was deliciously hot. 4. Oyster motoyaki. It had its own recipe take on it, but the oysters were little midgets and the sauce didn’t do it for me although mama there was quite enthusiastic about it. I personally just wanted one nice fresh juicy oyster motoyaki on its shell lmao. 5. Salmon, tuna, red tuna, tamago, ikura nigiris. They were okay and pretty basic although they use their special sushi rice. 6. Spider roll. It was okay, pretty standard. I think i preferred the one at Sushi California more. Overall, the atmosphere was pretty casual, the service was decent and the food was okay. It does get a bit crowded and the noise level goes up a notch during peak hours because of its smaller space but it’s still quite comfortable in terms of spacing. The service was okay and the staffs were quite friendly. WELL let’s see… As for the food, they were pretty basic and standard although they do have their own patent recipe for the sushi rice. Which on another note is a big deal cause good sushi is all about the quality of the sushi rice.
delicious sushi! spicy combo is my favourite. staff always kind and welcoming
Delicous sushi, the pink rice is pretty cool too.
The service was excellent, the girl who helped us was very friendly.
I m finally getting around to reviewing this place after a couple of visits. Really impressed by the freshness of sushi and friendliness of staff. Grateful that a business isn t focused on capitalizing on charging extra for the pink vinegar sushi. It comes with all the sushi, which lives up to its name, Sushi Well! And I must say it s Sushi Well done!
My favorite place - its a good and bad thing I live so close to it.. Food is absolutely amazing (not to mention their pink rice ties every bite together), tea is perfect every time, customer service is so kind and friendly, pricing is great - I have nothing bad to say about this place. I am always so pleased to share this place with a friend who hasnt been. Its my little hidden treasure. It is a bit of a cozy place though when its busy - spacing is very tight unless you have a booth (still recommend trying their food).
Nigiri ans service was amazing very kind and attentive service, I forgot my wallet and my girlfriends wallet on the table with a lot of cash in it after I had already walked over 2 blocks away and the server ran and found me acouple blocks away to return them. Amazing staff
Best sushi place Ive been to in a while!
Best lace ever !
The service is always friendly and expedient and this place has the best bathrooms in all of New West! Food is always well prepared and fresh!
Go there have food ...leave. its ok. I would not go there special I would not avoid it.
The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Food was served hot and fresh. Every bite was food for the soul. Very delicious
We finally came out our shell and tried a new sushi place! This place is amazing! To start of the service is quick and they were on top of waters and tea! The sushi is something else specially with the pink sushi rice that they serve! Taste amazing and the sushi quality is top notch! Would highly recommend! Will be comming back for more!
My favourite sushi place in new west! Such friendly staff & the sushi is absolutely delicious, such amazing quality toro
chill place and food is nice
The staff is friendly and the food quality is very good.
It was a bit disappointed their sashimi looked very fresh & good but it was still frozen. Only things that help to score 3 star was the tempura. The vegetables accompanied the teriyaki was not fresh, my husband didn t feel good after eating it. We won t be back again for sure! Parking: Only street parking
Not only the prices are much higher than as shown here, but after tipping them well enough I came back after an hour bc I forgot my to go box - to what they replied We threw it away you d have to pay again. Mean waitresses. Terrible customer service.
We are frequent costumers since forever, but recently the quantity, quality and specially the service changed. Nari was really rude and get mad because we made an order to go. To be honest we do not want to come back soon.
Amazing quality fish, best nigiri Ive had in a decade!
My favorite sushi place in newwest. The menu is very varied and the rolls are always good, the service is always friendly and fast. Super recommended!
The best sushi in new west! Def worth the time and money to stop by and try their rolls!
Parking: Fresh food and great service. Tasted great of course. I will definitely be coming back. Food
When it comes to sushi, Sushi Well has set a new standard for excellence. From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, inviting atmosphere combined with the genuine smiles from the staff immediately made us feel at home. But let s dive into what truly makes Sushi Well stand out the food. Simply put, it s extraordinary. Every dish we tried was a symphony of flavors and textures, showcasing the skill and artistry of the chefs. The sushi was incredibly fresh, with each piece bursting with vibrant flavors that danced on our taste buds. Whether it was the traditional sashimi or the more inventive rolls, every bite was a revelation. What impressed us just as much as the food was the variety on the menu. Sushi Well offers something for everyone, whether you re a seasoned sushi enthusiast or new to the world of Japanese cuisine. We explored several options, from classic rolls to their signature creations, and were blown away by the quality and creativity. The presentation of each dish was stunning, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. The staff at Sushi Well are another highlight. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, they made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. They were quick to offer suggestions and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Its clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority here, and it really shows in the service. The ambiance at Sushi Well is just right modern, clean, and relaxed, making it a great spot for any occasion. Whether you re out for a casual meal, celebrating a special event, or enjoying a quiet dinner, the setting is comfortable and inviting. And while the food and service are exceptional, the prices are pleasantly reasonable. It s rare to find such high-quality dining at such fair prices, making Sushi Well an even more appealing choice. In summary, Sushi Well offers an exceptional dining experience that s hard to beat. With incredible food, a welcoming atmosphere, and stellar service, it s a place that every sushi lover or anyone who appreciates great food should visit. We left with full hearts and full stomachs, eagerly looking forward to our next visit. Five stars, without a doubt!
This is a popular sushi restaurant in uptown New Westminster on Sixth Street opposite the TD Canada Trust branch. The food is very good and the layout of the restaurant is interesting as there are booths, small tables for two or more people, and individual seats by the window..
One of the best places in town. Quality ingredients, sushi tastes fantastic and the service is fantastic. Highly recommended for any sushi lovers.
Our favourite sushi in New West!
Excellent food and service. The sashimi is very fresh.
I went with my friends and definitely a great choice to go this place. Excellent services and delicious foods. I would recommend unagi oshi and Toro nigiri.
Absolute garbage! This food was absolutely disgusting! I have contacted the city of New Westminster to investigate their sanitary standards. DO NOT EAT THIS SLOP! My wife and I love sushi and have eaten in some of the best eateries across the globe including the Lower Mainland. No one in this place has clue about sushi. Over priced slop! Do not risk (food poisoning) botulism! We ate here once before and the food was garbage and decided to give it another go. Big Mistake! We hope it will be shuttered!
10/10 would not recommend. Its not fresh, its tasteless, expensive, begging for tips saying there is some vegi in there for u when there is the smallest piece of broccoli to my boyfriend but I didnt receive any. Anyone that thinks this place is good is someone that has never had great sushi! The tempura was so generic. U would think it would have better variety for the price u pay such as (shi take mushrooms, asparagus, eggplant, broccoli) not to mention the sauce was weird. Not warned about the cinnamon in it. Did not receive pink rice although I hate it. Everything was tasteless, even the sashimi and the rice which are expensive. The only thing that had flavour was the sauces. The Alaskan roll did not have smoked salmon, the Tobiko is fake (red and tasteless), chicken teriyaki had no crispy skin. Terrible. I was desperate for sushi because I like to go to Richmond for sushi like everyone should but I ordered late. I went here once about 4 yrs ago and hated it and still do!
the sushi here is soso honestly. Don t order the fired tofu suggestions Food
Decent food, reasonable price, and great service! Strongly recommend this place:)
One of the best Sushi spots in town! Will definitely come back to try other menus very soon!
Best sushi in New West! Fresh and great quality! Highly recommend!
Took out mango sushi today - overpriced, $18 for 8 pieces, just ridiculous. And my slippers were sticking to the floor, not sure when its been washed last time.
Excellent selection of food
This place is very good, the food is perfect, very fast, I recommend the Nigiri and the ramen.
This place is excellent, the truth is, very good in my opinion, I recommend the ramen and the nigiri
Vegetarian options: There are a variety of dishes for green lovers. Food
By far the best restaurant in town. Food is beyond exceptional, service is great. Will definitely come back over and over again.
Went for dinner for 3 on a Sunday evening for the first time. The place was busy but service was quick and friendly. We were more than satisfied with each item we ordered: spicy salmon sashimi (they have both atlantic & sockeye), maple roll which was my favourite, tiger prawn roll, great surrey roll, nigiri combo and unagi oshi. They make nigiri and rolls with pink rice which also makes them healthier and unique. We ll definitely be back for more visits!
Just typical sushi place. Everything was bland and nothing special.
All very good my only concern was the flyes in the window from inside
Apart from their sushi serving, they have really good rice bowls.
A truly delicious sushi restaurant The sashimi, rolls, and katsudon are all perfect. Even though I live far away, I will definitely be back to eat again soon!! Its so delicious that Ill post it when I go
No.1 sushi restaurant in new westminster
I have been a costumer of sushi well since they were in the previous location, so i was excited when they opened again at the new location and had been a regular there since A few months ago, we visited and got the two same ramen dish. We noticed one of the plates had noticeably less broth than the othsr so we brought it up to the server, who then brought it up to the owner. The owner came to our table and we explained how broth was not enough from the beginning and she said well okay I will get you more. On the circumstances, she made it sound like they are going to make more broth because its their mistake, but guess what, we ended up with an extra charge on the bill for the broth The owner made us feel lied to, even though I had been a regular there. Its been a few months but still decided to post this up because even up until now I strongly believe that we were treated poorly that day. Basically they made a mistake from the kitchen and charged customers extra for making up for their mistakes. After this happened, we havent been back ever again and wont be also. Unless you want to get charged extra for the kitchens mistake, go elsewhere.
So happy to have Sushi Well back. I lost my go to sushi place and they filled the gap 100% and so much more! So yummy and great prices.
The sushi here is outstanding, the staff are kind, and the atmosphere is super clean and well kept. I strongly recommend the crazy boy roll!
I always love my time at Sushi Well. Great food, great prices, attentive service. I enjoy eating at the seats facing the window and prefer the new cozier location.
I always come here and the service is always amazing, the food is incredible too. Hands down best Sushi in all metro Vancouver area. Special thanks to Sumire, Mai & of course Jenny for their amazing attitude and kindness.
All the staff was amazing, Jenny Mai and sumire they re extremely friendly and professional, The sushi was very tasty, honestly it s one of my favourite in bc, highly recommended
Asked for no salad with my bento box and mentioned it would be nice to add another item in place but just let me know, was told it s an extra $1 to remove the item than full charge for new item plus $1 to add the new item as it was two changes. This makes no sense, really unfortunate as I was a regular before this.
Great food, Great service and Great all around experience for Sushi lovers!
best sushi ever
Best sushi in New Westminster! Everything on the menu is delicious and the staff are very kind. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Not only the food is phenomenal, but the customer service is aa well, I have a allergy to Wasabi and they took care of it!! Definitely you must try this place ans the pink rice
Sooooooo good!! Great quality and nice staff! One of the best Wild Salmon sashimi s I ve had. It was super fresh and a very good portion. I should have taken a photo, but so could stop eating it The staff recommended the Maple Roll. And it was super flavourful & delicious and made with very fresh ingredients and the Special Sauce they use is AMAZING!!! I m so happy I tried this place
We ordered three types of sushi rolls and all of them were delicious! The service was excellent, we definitely will be back again next time! Kid-friendliness: They gave us enough space to park our baby s stroller beside us while eating dinner.
Sushi Well uses pink rice to make their sushi! The pink color comes from a premium quality pink sushi vinegar which is made from organic fruits and vegetables. This pink vinegar is said to be highly nutritious and the sushi they make with it is super delicious as well! I was going to a picnic gathering, and I knew the others would be bringing plenty of other food items so I just ordered three items from here to bring to the picnic: Mango Avo Roll Dragon Roll Salmon Oshi All three of these rolls were superb! Flavors were on point, ingredients were fresh and we were all very much impressed with the seared flavor of the Salmon Oshi. This place is my new favorite for sushi. I will happily come here again and again and again! Service: Good Parking: Paid parking on the street Location: 538 6th St., New Westminster, BC
Everything seems fine here. However I had diarrhea twice in three visits .
Love me some good quality sushi. Price is OK but when you are looking for healthy delicious sushi, this is my go too
Great place for sushi, food was tasty and fresh. The tempura lightly battered and sashimi great. They serve pink sushi rice, which surprised me. The service was great even though the place was packed on a Sunday 3pm. Plenty of street parking around the block. The street is a bit sketchy so dont leave belongings on plane sight. Parking: Around the bl9ck 2hr free parking. Paid parking in front. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly and options for kids.
I just feel the prices have gone up alot since reopening but then again hasnt everywhere?
Im so glad they were able to come back in the same neighbourhood! This is our favourite sushi place. Highly recommend!
Best Sushi so far!!! Fresh food and clean restaurant.
Jenny and her husband run this ma and pop spot with an updated place the restaurant itself is comfy and welcoming Always inviting with a warm welcome and a happy fairwell it keeps you coming back food is second to none Parking: I always park above London drugs plenty of sports there
Probably the best vegetarian sushi I have had and the service was fantastic!
Absolutely great, the food, the service, everything
So the food is good, the atmosphere is really nice, the service is fine, whats the problem? The food is too expensive for what you get, put quite simply. I feel like you pay a premium for their patented pink rice. But really, its just rice thats... pink. I dont have anything against this place, but there are so many sushi restaurants around, and many of them are far better value for your money.
Delicious sushi, fast friendly service. A new West favorite
Always a positive dining experience at Sushi Well and I am so glad they are back (and theyve been back for a while). Great sushi and sashimi, and the rest of the menu is good too. The service is top notch every time, even when they are busy and they are often busy.
It was first time checking out this place in person as I usually ordered from here to go. The place was very busy but thankfully they had a spots to sit near the front door area on a small section looking out onto the streets. A server came by to fill my tea cup for me as I looked over the menu. The only knock against this is I was looking at the menu after a couple of minutes but had to wait a bit before someone came and took my order. Once they did they were very friendly and had to double check that they had uni in house as its a seasonal thing. I got my Wakeame salad fast as the the sushi chefs took their time on making my rolls. Once the rolls came over to me I looked at them as they looked very delicious. The fact that they use pink vinegar here to give their sushi a different look and taste is very unique. I tried the Nigiri first which were full of flavor of each of the fish and the uni melted on my tongue. The chicken teriyaki roll was smaller then the ones I usually get at other place but I found out this one was full of flavor and had a great taste to it. Their house roll on the other hand was very very good. Nice pieces of sushi packed with great flavor. Will be coming back soon to try the rest of the menu
Absolutely the best sushi restaurant in New Westminster!
Even though overall, the food was fine, the pink rice didnt really appeal to me. The BC rolls dont have any salmon skin which I am used to. The spicy karaage was okay. I dont think its worth the upgrade from the regular karaage.
Loved them since they were on 4th. Still the same rolls that I love. Will be back now I know were they are. My neices love sushi.
I had a great time at sushi well. The yam tempura roll was very crispy, and the pink rice was pretty. The real standout was the great service I got from Angela. She was very timely with drink refills and brought over a full pot of tea for the table almost psychically knowing how thirsty we all were. Highly recommended!
the sushi was well
As good as ever
So delicious! Stuff so friendly! I ll come back! Food : 5/5
Yum
Pink rice nice one
I tried different dishes - mixed tempura, pink sunshi rolls, unagi roll, dynamite and BC roll. I like everything especially their pink sushi roll because it is the healthier version. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere had a family friendly vibe, it was full on a Friday night. Recommended, will definitely go back.
It s a Korean style sushi place with lovely pink sushi rice which makes it unique. My favorite item is the mango avocado roll because it s light and refreshing and the mango was sweet and fresh. The tuna and salmon sashimi were fresh and not fishy at all. The bento boxes and dinner combos are a good deal which included multiple items to try. Everything tasted pretty standard and as expected otherwise.
Ive been going to Sushi Well for a while and it is always great. Their pink sushi stands out against other sushi places. The food is top-notch (the croquet are amazing, I could eat 10). Shout out to Jenny, she is so sweet. All the staff is sweet and friendly and I always feel welcomed.
I can only say that they have the best food, the best management, and the best service And the best customer service Food
Spactacular. Perfect care and attention to every detail. Fresh and delicious. The pink rice is a unique feature. I ate my ebi sunomono too fast to get a pic, and my moms bento was also beautiful and, obviously made with love. Pictured is the special assorted nigiri and an unagi cone. Wheelchair accessibility: My mom comes with her mobility scooter (a small one) and parks it partially under the table. No steps to go up at the threshold. Note that only a few tables at the front are practical for her.
Good thing its open again!! Jenny is super sweet. I got food here yesterday and it was super yummy. Thankful for the new location. Its hard to find a good sushi place these days. Sushi Well is top shelf
When I lived in New West this was a go to for me. Im someone whos fairly picky and shy away from picking new foods. I was able to find a few dishes for me here and I cant find the same quality of service, food and environment anywhere else since moving away, big shoutout to the staff who go above and beyond at every visit Parking: Best to park across the street inside Royal City Mall and walk over if possible Wheelchair accessibility: On flat street and have tables that are able to be used with wheelchairs
Sushi to start, then noodle soup, both of them they served very fast. At the end the chicken appetizer was delayed because the restaurant got busy, a lot of people. It means people know this restaurant its good so they got busy. Its a good signal. I enjoyed a really good meal. Im not good with the name of the dishes, but you have to know that most of them are delicious.
Im happy to see this local restaurant return to New West. Food is great and the service was even better. Id like to see wild salmon return to the sashimi offering, I strongly dislike farmed salmon.
Always amazing. It s a must stop for us where when we are visiting new west
Standout dishes: Udon soup and their boxes. Rolls were solid and reasonably priced. Food
Just amazing tasting food! Best Sushi around. By far! Our service was quick, but may be slower if they are busy. But Definitely worth the wait. SO flavorful. Cant wait to get back there.
My favorite place for sushi. Always friendly, always good food.
This resturant is a lot Better than next restaurant, Sxxjo sushi.
Okonoki special roll was excellent. Monkey brains was good too. Both had similar flavor profile though so just one of the two would be ok. Decent sushi. Good service. Was very clean and the place looked nice.
Sushi Well is new restaurant that opened here in New West, the staff are excited to be open and serving customers. I enjoyed my lunch, they filled my tea twice. --- Turns out its an old/new restaurant. Theyre and established restaurant at a new location.
Amazing staff and the best sushi ive had in a LONG time. I love how the rice is PINK!! Its so sad they have to close down but hopefully they will come back in the area!! check this place out before the 31st to help support!!! Thank you guys <3 all the best
I truly enjoyed the warm beef udon, it was my time in the place, I also liked the cozy environment. Will definitely go back soon. Staff was very friendly. Among the sushi places I have tried in New Westminster, Sushi Well and Victoria Sushi are my first choice. ********** Sad to learn Sushi Well closed as the whole real estate/building will be rebuild. Kid-friendliness: Everyone from the business smiles and make you feel they care about you.
Meticulously prepared sushi dishes that are fresh and delicious. The service staff are very upbeat and always carry a smile. Their special pink sushi rice is terrific. Sushi Well has become our favourite sushi restaurant in the South Burnaby and New Westminster area. We visited their new location which is nicely decorated and comfortable.
It s lovely place! sooo delicious, relaxing atmosphere, all staff members were friendly and helpful!
The best Sushi place ever, awesome food and awesome service!
Great sushi, nice service. The pink sushi rice is no different than other sushi in flavour, so no worries on that. Very fresh and fulfilling. The Maple Roll is very good, definitely hoping to try new options again.
So happy youre back!! I missed my pink rice sushi with soy paper Dietary restrictions: Option for soy paper instead of seaweed Food : 5/5 |
The best sushi in New West is back! We frequented the other location before the building was torn down. This new location is a little smaller, but the food is better than ever! We went at peak hours on a Friday night, and we were seated quickly. Absolutely delicious sushi rolls and the appetizer spicy chicken karaage was so good!
very tasty rolls and portions
Food is good & price is reasonable. Service needs to be improved as theyre understaffed. Its really hard to get attention from the waitresses for ordering or the bill, no free tea or water for us either. I liked the chicken karagae which goes so well with the sauce (I guess its a mixture of condensed milk & lemon/lime juice). Sushi is okay, nothing special.
Their food is not great. Sanjo is better
5 out of 5 hands down the best sushi in town you just cant beat them
We love Sushi Well and are so glad they have reopened in uptown New Westminster. Jenny are her staff make each visit special. Food is amazing and prices are a good match for the quality and portion size.
Nice updated cozy restaurant with good variety of food and great service. You have to check out their hand towels they give you after you are seated. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly restaurant
Unfortunately, I do not recommend. I ended up leaving before getting my 1 small order after waiting for nearly an hour. People who were seated after myself got their food orders taken and received first. I came in on my own with one small order. They got their orders first with way more than what I ordered. Im sincerely not impressed. Im definitely not coming back again and will not be recommending this location.
Ordered the A Box, was expecting a traditional version; got brown rice roll? Onion rings were ok but on ketchup blah. No white rice under teriyaki chicken?? Not too good, not worth 25 bucks.
Food ok, nothing special, service very slow, we went to pick it up and were waiting for the order for more than 40 minutes, people waiting for the order, some for more than 1 hour, atmosphere ok, the service needs to improve a lot.
The rolls are good, but we waited an extra half hour on top of the initial half hour we were told to wait and then they gave us the wrong rolls. They gave us cheaper rolls than we paid for. Would not recommend take out and are very upset about them messing up our order after making us wait for so long.
Very good. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly. Vegetarian options: Wide variety of vegetation dishes. I got the vegetarian bento box with tofu. Very good Food : 5/5 |
Sushi well used to be my favourite when they were okonomi downtown new west. I wasn t a fan of the uptown location. After their reopening I thought what the hell, I ve loved this place once let s give it an other go. The food was excellent, better than I ever remember it originally. The servers were absolutely EXCELLENT. I haven t even had such good quick reliable service in high end places. This will be my go to sushi spot going forward, like a reunited old love affair. Try it if you haven t wow. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options.
We went here for lunch at their new location. The service was amazing. Jenny and her team came by to check on us a few times making sure everything was good. The food was amazing. We got their sashimi Bento box, Stanley Park roll and few other things. The Stanley park roll was presented beautifully and so good. The week earlier I ordered a take out. Jenny said would take about 45 min as restaurant was busy. I said I understand and that ok, I will cancel the order.. She said let me talk to the chef. She came back on phone and said she will be able to accommodate me and be ready in 20-25 min. That was amazing customer service. Happy to see them in their new location (beautiful) and our new local NW sushi restaurant.
New Westminsters best sushi restaurant. Was closed for a bit while changing locations but its back now! Maple roll is tasty AF.
Absolutely amazing in every way! The staff is incredibly kind and thoughtful. And the food is delicious! Super happy with this place, very glad they are back!
Last night went here to celebrate my boyfriend s mom bday . I ordered the veggie bento dinner box and i was disappointed ,they gave me a pork gyoza in a veggie box ..I told the waitress about it and she questioned me because she said it twice or three time without looking at the food no that s veggie gyoza . Luckily we also ordered a veggie so I compared it and that s when she was like oh I ll ask about it the owner (I m not sure if she is the owner but I m assuming she is ) came and asked us what we would like to compensate to what had happened . She did apologize and said because it was busy ,the kitchen got confused. I understood and it was very nice of her to give us a free croquette and 50% off the veggie bento box.
Excellent food. service and very nice sit down location!
Food is always amazing! We barely ate sushi while they were closed ... we were that dedicated lol. Staff super friendly above and beyond.
This is a great little spot with funky pink rice! Yes the Rice is pink, moist and delicious! I had the Surrey street veggie roll, edamame beans, veggie gyoza, and miso soup! It was really good! My non veggie buddy had Crazy Boy roll, and he reported that it was also really good. The tea was hot! The miso was also fresh, tasty, and robust ( I dislike watery miso, but this was substantial). The servers were really fun, borderline entertaining. Overall, try this place out! It s fandabulos!
I cant seem to order online ever, but Ive never had an issue with calling in or stopping in to order. Apparently a new menu, but I always order a rainbow roll and this time a fantastic roll. Both delivered!
Updated 2023: Moving from their old location left me feeling a bit upset, so stumbling upon their new spot in downtown New West was a pleasant surprise. Walking in felt like being back in a familiar, friendly environment. I cant help but rave about their sushi its truly outstanding. The quality is top-notch, and every roll Ive tasted has been a delightful experience. The pink rice they use adds a unique touch. Despite the cozy size, the place is kept super clean and has a very inviting atmosphere. Given the exceptional quality, I can imagine this spot becoming quite popular and getting a table might become a bit of a challenge in the future. My advice? Visit now while its still be discovered (again!) Count me in as a returning customer for sure! The combination of impeccable service, incredible sushi, and the welcoming ambiance makes it a place Ill be visiting again soon.
Great suishi. Only place I go in New Westminster
I really like details , prestigious and delicate presentation . Good quality is great I m so picky person , for me this is wooow . Thanks to the smile and warm welcome . And top of that clean and reasonable pricing , better 1000 times than big down town restaurants.thanks Jeneey . Vegetarian options: House salad
Well, I finally got to the new location of Sushi Well today. It has been years since I ve been there, so it was like a brand new experience. I rarely eat alone, but tonight was a night where I was eating alone. I walked in the door, and they actually had a nice little bar at the window that you could sit by yourself and not feel out of place eating alone. The moment I came in, they added water to a little puck that turned into a napkin. I have them at home and they re super fun and a great thing to start with when you re going to eat sushi like me, with my hands due to lack of chopstick finesse. The staff just made me feel very welcome and wanted. I looked at the menu and the price point was awesome. But then the food came. I could not believe how fresh the food was. Every element of the Bento box that I purchased, was well thought out and was not thrown together. Starting with the salad, I can t tell you how many salads look like somebody threw them on the plate and splashed dressing on them with no thought whatsoever. My salad was crunchy, crisp, flavorful, and well presented with the cutest little carrot on top, and the two chef specials of the day were really adorable. One was two spring rolls I think they re called with plum sauce, and the other one was a prawn skewer. The sauce on the skewer was perfect. It brought out the flavour of the prawn. I had not had pink sushi before (unless I did the last time I was at the restaurant,) but I do not remember that. I spoke with the lady and she explained to me that it was made out of beets and I believe she said carrots. They had to get a special license for it. It s very healthy and it just had a different flavour to it. so it was like eating dynamite rolls, but next level. I moved onto the chicken teriyaki, and the alfalfa sprouts were just so crisp and crunchy. There was also a really flavourful sauce. I m guessing that they make the teriyaki sauce themselves or else it s high end and not Kraft lol. No matter what, it s amazing. I really enjoyed the tempura. The batter was delectable. And even though I ate far too much because it was so good, I still came home with enough to have lunch tomorrow. Definitely glad I went and I will be back for sure. Vegetarian options: These are available.
thank you for the delicious food
I don t know why this restaurant has a rating of more than 4. After the search rating, I went to the restaurant, but it was a horrible experience. I arrived at the restaurant at 2:33 noon and wanted to order a lunch box, but was refused. They rudely told me that lunch was served until 2:30 and I could only order the more expensive dinner box. When my dinner box food was put on the table it was not only the portion small but the tempuras were over-fried. When I asked if I could get a takeaway box for the food, I was told that there was an extra charge if I wanted to take the leftovers. OMG, I have never encountered such a service in a restaurant! In short, the price is not proportional to the quality of the food. The only advantage of this restaurant is its location which is close to the bus station. However, I would rather go to other sushi restaurants that have better tastes, prices, and services. I wouldn t recommend it and definitely won t go back again.
The sashimi was fresh and the portion was generous, so I enjoyed it .
This place, I always want to go. The food is so delicious and fresh. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is great Food
When I went to the store, each and every employee was friendly. Living in Canada, a 5-star rating is not enough for a store like this. The taste was perfect, and I could feel the care taken when eating the sushi. The advantage of this restaurant is that the sushi rice is healthier than other sushi restaurants. I hope many people know about this place and have delicious meals there.
I really enjoyed the meal. Thank you. The best restaurant!
Sushi Well Japanese Ambience: Casual/modern/clean Parking: Street Meter Food: Excellent Service: Exceptional Costs: Good value When majority of the reviews are of the same possitivity, it only means they are consistently good and deserves to recognized! Inconsistency just doesn t work for me. My sanity, time and money are just too valuable for businesses that constantly needs justifications, having to right the wrongs, etc. Afterall, we eat out because we want to enjoy! So why not do it right the first time? This place understands that! Service: We came 1/2 hr b4 closing. Greeted warmly by the server with warmed hand towels (usually done but rarely now in upscaled chinese banquets). I told the server that I m not a fish person and my partner so I m just gonna regretfully order bento box instead of the high end items. She said it s fine and even recommended things she felt I might like. The servers and owner proactively attended to us with smiles through the entire meal. Food: I ve seen photos of their food prior to coming but they don t do them justice! The bentos were lavishly presented! Everything in the boxes were so fresh and delicious! Especially the beef teriyaki was so tender that I had to ask what cut of beef. The owner told me it s sirloin. I was expecting the skewers of shrimp to be overcooked, but it was just right and so were the tempuras. Loved croquettes which are rarely included in bentos. The sashimis my partner told me were not skimpy. We also liked that they didn t pile on the rice to make food appear big instead, lots of fillings! We also loved the spicy tuna roll. I was told me that the spicy sauce is homemade. Yeah, we can t help but kept comparing all aspects to other restaurants of alike that are more expensive but lower in quality. Just because it was the end of the day, the tired servers were still diligent; the food were still fresh and tasty. The lemon slices in the water, warm hand towels add a nice touch. IMO, they don t cost a lot but small gestures like these speaks huge about a business s integrity and value for customers. I told Jenny that IMO why some restaurants fail soon or later but I can feel that Sushi Well isn t gonna be one of them!
Im so happy they reopened! The new space is lovely, the service and food are as fantastic as ever. Every time weve eaten here or taken out has been wonderful. My favourite Japanese restaurant in New Westminster.
Sushi Well is definitely on my go-to list now! The sushi is a masterpiece of flavor, with a menu that caters to both traditional and adventurous tastes. What sets this place apart is the exceptional service (especially from the delightful Jenny). Her friendliness and happiness is so contagious!! And the insightful recommendations added a special touch to an already outstanding dining experience for us. The restaurants ambiance is perfect, striking a balance between sophistication and comfort. Sushi Well has secured its spot as my go-to sushi spot, and I cant wait to return for more delightful meals. Kudos to the Manager Jenny, servers and chefs for a truly five-star experience!!
Sushi Well always exceeds our expectations with its exceptional sushi and service! The food is always presented so beautifully and fresh. All the staff are super attentive and friendly. It was so nice to chat with the servers, Jenny and Sarah, who are the most warm and lovely people ever! Were so glad Sushi Well is open again after the renovations but it was truly worth the wait. They continues to impress us with their delectable cuisine and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction! My favourite is the Salmon Toro Nigiri Sushi and Bento Box C
One of the best sushi places in town. Great customer service and great food.
Wow what a fantastic Japanese restaurant with FRESH food. Sushi is super healthy pink. JENNY IS FABULOUS.
So good - best sushi place in uptown New West
Ordered Miso soup, Dynamite roll, Philadelphia and the Crazy girl roll. Everything was delicious.
I enjoyed a nice dinner here. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The quality and portions are good. I would come back again. Parking: Theres pay parking on the street in front of the restaurant.
I loved Sushi Well so much that I took my boyfriend here the week after. The spicy agedashi tofu is great. Soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. Their sauce is perfect, not too spicy. I actually said Oh my gosh out loud when the Bento C came out because the portions were huge. Very good value. The second time I was here I also enjoyed their Salmon Combo and my boyfriend enjoyed his Dyna Roll Combo. Will be back.
The sushi forever
Great little sushi restaurant in New Westminster. Friendly staff in addition to the great service provided. I had Bento box A with a spider roll as well. Accompanied with an ice cold Sapporo beer. Very tasty and exquisitely presented ! I will try the sushi with pink rice next time . Pay parking out front and out back.
Favorite Japanese food in New Westminster
Delicious food! So tasty, perfect service
Perfect bento box, everything is delicious. I would like to try other things
Its by far the best sushi place in town! Our favorite is the chirashi don and the freshness and quality of sashimi are always impressive.
Absolutely scrumptious and amazing service! My favourite sushi restaurant!!
People are very friendly and welcoming! We love their spicy rolls. Will definitely come back soon. Kid-friendliness: They were super nice to my boy. Thank you!
$30.45 assorted sashimi for 14 pieces... 6 pieces were salmon and 2 peices were egg.
Friendly service, good song selection (traditional Japanese music) and a fireplace to add to the already warm atmosphere created by the staff and owners.
This sushi is always amazing! The vegetarian nigiri is fun, the pink rice is cute :)
Their sushi was incredibly beautiful and fresh and the owner, Mr. Cem, was very kind
The worst Chirashi Ive ever had. Rice has no taste and had an orange ish colour from bottom to top. All fishe pieces were low quality.
The location is easy to find, provide great service, everything we ordered tasted great! Absolutely will visit again!
Wow!!! I eat a lot of sushi and this place ( my first time here) has blown all others out of the water!! Excellent!!! Fresh, tasty and the creative special rolls make you mouth drool. I will be back because the bar has just been raised to a whole new level.
The best sushi in New Westminster, love coming here ...
I ordered the other day, nothing was wrong but it wasn t great ether. I wanted to try a new place because I heard this place was worth trying. I don t think I ll do it again but the prices were fair, just the taste was a bit flat / stale.
The atmosphere is so warm and cozy. Such a great place to go and enjoy a meal with someone you care about. The food is delicious and they have their own trademarked sushi rice. It gives the sushi a distinct flavor that you dont get anywhere else. Went twice just to make sure it was just as good and it definitely still was. Take some time out of your day and pay them a visit. You wont regret it
I think I found my new favourite sushi spot. They have a wide sushi selection and their food is very delicious. They are well known for their vitamin-packed pink rice, which in my opinion was aesthetically pleasing and tasteful. I will definitely be going back.
What a great little place! The pink sushi is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the ambience is great. It can be quite busy, and parking is rough to find (paid, on the street). The service was a bit slow, but it was a Friday evening around 5:30 so it was completely understandable. Try it out! You wont regret it.
Pros: Good food Good service Clean place Con: Prices for food on their website doesnt match price when you come in to eat.
