810 Quayside Dr Unit 116, New Westminster, BC V3M 6B9, Canada
Bright, stylish venue serving modern spins on Thai street fare, such as noodles, fried rice & satay.
I always saw the good reviews about this place. Finally, we made it there. Really friendly service from a lovely thai girl who gave us a warm welcome. Really delicious food, fast service, nice portion with good price and a nice patio outside on a sunny day. Thank you very much again for a free rice for the girls and a free thai tea for me, very kind of you! So this is our favorite thai restaurant in New Westminster
It's in a food court that's kinda hard to find on foot. We followed some people around a poorly lit sidewalk across some train tracks to the back of the Quay building. Whoever is in charge of making this place accessible, needs to go here at night and tell me that it's obvious or safe for those who have never been before. Get some lights and signs might help, bring business in.
So glad that we found this Gem for Thai food. Taste was amazing and the proportions were pretty good. We would definitely comeback to enjoy the taste. Today we came here with no expectations just to have Thai Food, but definitely this was amazing choice. We had pad Thai and Basil beef.
Longtail Kitchen is one of my favorite spots for pad thai! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve ordered from here, and it’s always amazing. The flavors are spot on, and the balance of spices is perfect every time. Whether I’m dining in or getting takeout, it never disappoints. Highly recommend!
Such a great experience!! Great tasting food, quick eat and reasonable prices make this restaurant our new favourite!! The outdoor patio allowed our pups to enjoy a little snacky snack with their mama after a long nice walk on the pier. Great service and the atmosphere are on point 💯
Cute little shop with a nice outdoor seating area, good food, good service. Can't here one afternoon and literally everything on the menu sounds fantastic. They were sold out of the squid dish that sounded most appealing to us. We ended up ordering the mee gorang and a couple of beers. Sat outside and the view was lovely. The mee gorang was really good, I would definitely order it again! They have a self serve water station and a few kitchen items to buy in their market. I use the same Thai tea they will here at home, and the fish sauce as well! Overall great place, I would love to come back to try more things!
Went here for good reviews but nothing stand out from what we ordered. Food was okay. Pad thai is in sweeter side. Service is fast.
Really good wings that were crispy, salty, sweet, not very oily. Delicious tangy pad thai, the prawn was cooked perfectly. And the chicken was very flavorful. Service was very kind. The only gripe i would have is that the cook time was 20 minutes, but they were busy, and for good reason. 100% would recommend.
Literally the best Thai food Ive had anywhere that isnt Thailand (and even as good or better than some of the food I ate in Bangkok). The staff are incredible, and the food is to die for. Support this place!! Food : 5/5
It has been a long time since I came here. The place does not look as nice as it used to. What happened to all the tables? Only three old yellow tables. The space has room for many more tables. The owner should consider a renovation. Everything served in disposable containers.
Hands down the best restaurant in New West
*** This is a must try restaurant! We have been eating here for years. The staff are so friendly! Amazing mee goreng, tofu pad thai, soft pork with gailan, mild curry with prawns or chicken and crispy chicken wings! We never get tired of this menu!
Excellent food and flavor!!! Highly recommended
I ordered the salt and pepper squid stir fry and it was so good!!
The food is delicious and it s very comfortable to sit by the river and have lunch
Best restaurant in New Westminster. Their food is art. Everything on the menu is amazing. Gluten-free options. Very spicy and delicious. And nutritious! Honestly Longtail Kitchen is better than every restaurant in the entire Vancouver region, and is better than much more expensive places, too. This is what food is supposed to be.
Food
There is a review here from some guy named Hunter. Clearly he never went here and should be banned for attacking all the local businesses he reviews! My wife and I just ate here again for what must be the 40th time in the past 5 years! The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is good and the food is the closest thing to authentic asian street food I have found in bc! If you want to experience asian street food, this place is RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!!
I ate here because it was close to the hotel and THEN was advised to check out the best restaurant in the market! The food was well priced with fairly large portions. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours on point. The market is cute and I enjoyed eating on the patio that is right on the boardwalk. Would recommend!
The pad thai rice noodles are very chewy and taste good ~ the fried chicken is very crispy and delicious
The food was great overall but a bit pricey considering the portions. The Pad Thai hit the right notes - though the chicken tasted slightly off. Worth trying if you re there.
Amazing food and service! Red cirry was on point! Also gave us extra rice on the house!!!
Great food. Flavorful, well cooked but portions were a bit small. Otherwise no complaints. Would definitely come here again.
Been here and few times and always loved it but ordered today for the first time in awhile and have to say that this time I was disappointed. Is it me or have they totally changed the Pad See Ew - it came with ground beef (not good) and seemed much different than last time I ordered it. This used to be my favourite dish - no longer. The roti was as good as I remember but can t get over how disappointed I was in the Pad See Ew beef. Not sure I ll be back sadly.
We ordered prawn pad Thai, gailan and pork, roti and the chicken wings. Everything was amazing and had such a good combination of flavours. The portion sizes were impressive and great value for your money. But our favourite dish was the chicken wings. It reminded me of the famous wings at Phnom Penh. Cant wait to go back again and try more items!
Cute location housed within the New Westminster river market. Portion size was decent with a good amount of protein and sprouts included.
Such delicious food! Generous portions at very reasonable prices We got the Pad Thai with prawns, rice with pork belly & gailan, chicken wings and the roti - enjoyed every single thing! Highly recommend and look forward to going back soon!
I fell in love with this place on my first visit. Ive tried gailan with pork, pad thai, pad see ew beef, fried enoki, daily curry, and mee goreng. They were all amazing. The place is clean and people are nice to the customers. I once came here three times a week. Their limited business hour is thw only flaw.
Hello there to the fans of Thai food . For everyone who s looking for a real taste of Phad Thai I highly recommend this kitchen won t let you down included with Awarded. My experience with many places of Thai restaurant here s the best for a real Phad Thai, Don t miss it ! I bet you will love it and will return to this kitchen again and again
We ordered delivery from Longtail Kitchen. The food was steaming hot and delicious! The wings were crispy, tangy, salty, sour, sticky, and overall perfect. We both went for the drunken noodles - oh my gosh - the vegetables were so fresh and not overcooked, the noodles were perfect, and the flavour was so rich and satisfying. Soul food - a perfect meal.
Not sure what the hype is about this restaurant. Ordered the pad thai with tofu and the flavour was lacking. It was strangely sour/tangy and very soggy. Thai milk tea was ok.
Best chicken wings in town! All their food is amazing. And the service is top notch every single time we come here.
I was in love with the food the truth 100% recommended, its a small place and is just for you to go eat but its worth it if you want to try something new this is the place and if you want to compare with something Thai you tried before this is the place and has won several awards in Vancouver.
We love eating here, however on our last trip, we and others were turned away at 11:25am because the cook was eating his lunch and they werent ready for customers. Strange! Unlike a lot of Chinese restaurants, the cooks will eat when the rush is over and not when paying customers are knocking at your door. Besides that when they did open, the food was excellent as always. My basil pork was a little saltier than usual but tasty. Unfortunately because they opened later, I had to wolf down my lunch. I only parked for an hour. Next time, come at noon or later.
Delicious pad Thai!!! Their Thai milk tea was so good too!
Best Thai food in the area!
We ordered the Pad See Ew beef and Basil Beef with fried egg, both spicy, and they sure delivered on the heat in the best way possible! The flavors were authentic and delicious, and the spice level was just right for us. The staff was incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe of the place. Cant wait to come back for more!
Always great, highly recommend the prawn pad Thai
I love this place! Went with my husband to have lunch and left so happy! Food was delicious and they serve fresh from the kitchen (right temperature). I also eventually deliver for them and it s always easy and quick to pickup! Loyal costumer and happy delivery driver.
Right on the Key and easy to access by train, this place is an awesome experience. We got the pad thai and basil beef. really awesome
Good food all around with good service. Have made many orders since it opened and have never been disappointed, good consistency! (Updated: had to stand in line twice for the same order as they only gave me 1/2 my order, make sure to check your bag) Also vegetarian friendly, thanks :)
Always my favorite place to go! My favorite dish is Pad Thai and Crispy Pork with Gailan. Ask for medium or hot spiciness damn, so good!
Really good Thai food. We got the pad thai, fired enoki mushrooms, fried chicken, chinese sausage fried rice. It was my second time coming and I will for sure check it out again. I believe they have a fine dining thai restaurant as well? Ill look into that for sure.
Very hard to find seating and the portions are quite small for the price. Considering patsara Thai is a 10 minute walk from here and has a much better seating area and a bigger menu and is cheaper for bigger portions we will most likely not come back here. Food while not bad was nothing to be blown away by either.
Love the pad Thai but pricey for the portion
Fabulous! First time trying this spot - one of the few (and best rated) Thai places in New West. The roti was a carb lovers dream, soft and pillowy, with a crunchy peanut chili dipping sauce. Phad Thai that was super saucy + fresh lime wedge to garnish atop Chicken wings were crispy, salty, good with a dipping sauce that at first taste blew me up with heat, but after actually trying it again with the wings, it was just right. Lastly, the spring rolls were a healthy size set of rolls served with a traditional sweet chili sauce - love!
YESSS! Full flavour take-out with excellent texture. Roti with peanut sauce was so satisfying to start. Rolls too. Pad see ew noodles and sauce were BAM! Green curry, so comforting, plenty of veg and chicken. Next time Ill add spice there. Pad thai was multi-faceted yum.
I ordered two Pad Thai eat in dishes. I felt the noodles were either too soft perhaps from being drenched in too much sauce. For me extra spicy means cut up a chili pepper and add it to the dish, and not adding a bunch on Sriracha sauce on the side. Adding some freshly squeezed lime on the dish did not change the taste of the excessive sauce. I will buy a Thai cookbook elsewhere. I never review with a less than positive review, except for now.
Good takeout restaurant. The longtail wings are the best item on the menu. Food is a little expensive for what you get but the whole Quay is kind of an expensive area, so it makes sense to fit in with the demographics The food was made quick and with care. I enjoyed. Especially because the area does need the asian representation The restaurant is kind of confusing to get into from outside because you can only enter from inside the Quay. It makes sense though because they have to keep the outside animals that people keep feeding out. Its such a good location and fun to stumble upon for snack/lunch. Not really any seating inside so have to eat at the public Quay tables
Food is ridiculously delicious! Ive been here several times and the hardest part is deciding what to have for lunch. The pad thai is so flavorful with a nice hint of spice and the wings are a must!
Great little place down at the Lonsdale Quay, it s kind of hidden in the far corner don t really notice it unless you should go right to the door but once inside their are few tables small but roomy and clean the food is amazing I had a Singapore curry noodle with chicken, and it was amazing so fresh and the aroma there was enough food in the container for two meals, and very reasonable price. I definitely will be going back to this place and trying there other dishes that they have. This quaint little place is also wheelchair accessible and you also have access to eating outside on the patio s overlooking the water.
Great food and friendly staff, also the scenic Fraser river view. Longtail chicken wings, daily currey-chicken, roti and peanut sauce are unbeatable.
Great Thai food great price
Really great food, nice service.
A wonderful no fuss Thai lunch. Two adults and a teenager shared the following: Tofu Pad Thai, veggie spring rolls, roti and chicken wings. The pad thai had wonderful sour note to it, likely from tamarind. My daughter loved the roti and was ok to eat just that. The chicken wings were mouth watering - whatever they sprinkled on top was salty goodness! I want to try the cauliflower next time and more roti!
Takes forever to cook. Says 20 minute wait but it took longer than 30 minutes. Food here isnt cheap as well. Very poor service.
salt pepper shrimp was so good! great service as well
I have ordered twice from this restaurant. The food is good but not great. Prices are reasonable and comparable with similar restaurants. Last time I ordered food to be delivered, Skip the Dishes managed the delivery. The restaurant didnt send exactly what I ordered. I called the restaurant to ask them to send the missing order or to credit my credit card. The restaurant refused my request and ordered me to deal with Skip the Dishes instead. I said that I didnt order from Skip the Dishes and I demanded from them to take care of their mistake. After a few minutes, I was told that Skip the Dishes would issue a credit but to my surprise they gave me points for their own services. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. I do not recommend this restaurant or Skip the Dishes.
My fav thai spot in New West!
I used to be a fan until their Longtail turn 10 event. They misled buyers on the eventbrite page. It mentioned side dishes, giveaways and door prizes but there was none of that. $50 for 1lb of prawns and 1 beer. Such a ripoff. When we commented on their Instagram, they just deleted the comment so this one will probably get deleted too
Always great food. Squid and pork belly for me, chicken wings and pad Thai for the kids.
Reviews aint lying!!! The food here is amazing, definitely try the wings and Phad Thai. Its a small kitchen so you might wait a little but definitely would come back again. 9.5/10
Order the wings!!
Food is so good. Had their chicken wings, pad see ew beef, and green papaya salad. Delicious. Dog friendly too at the patio.
Good. Just fast food chicken padtai. But thats what I wanted.
Has become a go to spot for us. Food is delicious, staff is so amazing and friendly.
Amazing food and Amazing staff. Food alway delicious and on point. I always come too Longtail kitchen when Im in new west
The Pad See Ew Beef is my favourite of all the really good noodle dishes here! You cannot go wrong with any of the many options here. If you feel like a curry type noodle get the Singapore noodles, if you want the classic get the Pad Thai. I have tried only one rice dish and it was wonderful but I usually crave the noodles too much to resist! The appetizers are also so good, so bring someone to share a great meal and a good time with!
Always my go to when Im at the Quay Market! Love their food so much and so as my kids. They are very friendly here and consistent!
Amazing pad Thai!!!
Go try for your self, all was good for me
Some absolutely awesome curry and other great dishes. I hear the chicken wings are good too.
Such delicious Thai food, one of the best I ve ever had!
I dont eat out very often but when I do, I start my work week right here, the staff is amazing and always treat me well, I come back every week just because of the staff.
Outstanding food from kind and thoughtful people! A very welcome experience in Vancouver s bland and boring city. Thank you for making such good food!
The food was a little salty, but it was delicious and the cashier was very friendly. Its like steamed Thai food. I like Pad Thai with more peanut flavor, but I dont like it.
They have amazing food here and prices are reasonable! Gotta try their Mee Goreng w/ Chicken, Pad Thai w/ Prawns, and Roti w/ Peanut Sauce!! I didn t try the Mee Goreng with egg but I will for sure try it the next time I visit. See you! Kid-friendliness: There are benches outside for larger groups :)
Ive eaten here a few times. Nice spot to eat lunch along the river. They bring your food out to you, which is nice.
Disappointing food
Was not expecting such delicious food when we arrived. We enjoyed the singapore noodle with chicken and the daily curry with chicken. The noodles were good and hit the mark. The daily curry (green) was outstanding. Rich but fresh, perfectly spicy, chock full of vegetables and chicken, and a great amount of rice. The tables offer a lovely view of the water and the boardwalk.
So tasty! Pad see ew was great
Good food. Nice young people with friendly service. Could have been more spicy, but Ill know next time to order extra spicy.
Amazing little Thai place in the heart of New West! Delicious food and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food you get. What else can you ask for?
Lousy Thai food in all regards... and not even close on the Thai Ice Tea. Perhaps because they want to cater to local taste, but food for those without nuance can eat next door. Nice view though.
Amazing food as always. My family and I love the wings.
Excellent
Really delicious food, sat on the river boardwalk on a sunny day. Amazing value for the money, absolutely delicious and highly recommended
Randomly walked in for lunch and ordered the mie goreng based on their recommendation what a mistake! It was salty, soggy, and a chore to eat. Dear reader, if youre craving for mie goreng, just buy Indomie and save your taste buds and money.
If you want Thai food, you will like this place, they offer a variety of Thai food, and it is delicious, it has some spicy flavor if you like it, spicy will be the best, if you are not much into spicy then it would not be an option for you. But recommended this place.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for great Thai food.
Generally at least $20 per person so for a counter service place, its definitely pricy. The food is hit and miss and the portion is definitely much smaller than other Thai restaurants. Also, as others have mentioned, their hours are quite limited, so if you are seeing a movie in the evening, chances are that you wont be able to get any food here.
Very good SE Asian food on the Quay
Outstanding Thai food!! Eat here for lunch once a week, the chef is on point and the thai spice levels are legit!! I usually order vegetarian vegan Pad Thai or veg Yellow Curry. Prompt service t9 deliver the food to your table after paying, even if sitting in the riverside market cafeteria or outdoors. One of Top 3 Thai Restaurant in Lower Mainland for me, hands down!! Vegetarian options: Vegan Tofu Pad Thai is fantastic!!
Delicious
Very polite staff and the dishes we had were wonderful! Limited seating, so this location is definitely more geared toward take-out.
Love it!
A cute little restaurant at the corner of the river market! I got the pad Thai with tofu and it was delicious but shortly after eating it my digestive system has been very unhappy and has been for the past few hours . Have never had an issue with pad thai anywhere else, hesitant to return.
The best!
It was my first time here a few weeks ago because the food are so highly priced I thought they must be good. I ordered a chicken pad Thai , but was hugely disappointed. The chicken tasted raw, the rice noodles over cooked and the whole thing was way too salty, and without any flavor. Over the years, I ve had many pad Thai at different restaurants, this is the worst serving I ve ever had. The cook seems to have not even a basic level of cooking skills! Doesn t worth the $17 price at all. I don t know why this place has such a high rating.
(Ordered take out) Their pad Thai was amazing! They also give a good portion of the noodles as well. I find that their Roti was ok but it might ve been my fault as because it gotten cold, thus it wasn t as crispy but I m sure that it was great when it was fresh I recommend the peanut sauce to go with it. The only downside is it is a bit on a pricey side but again they are literally next to the water so I m sure that was the main reason why it was a bit pricey.
This is really great food cooked fresh. Eaten here 4 times and tried everything on the menu - takes a little time because they cook it all fresh in front of you but it s really delicious fusion food. Well worth a visit
We ordered the longtail wings, chicken pad thai, roti with peanut sauce and daily curry with prawn (comes with rice). Everything was super good and tasty. Our favourite items were the chicken wings and the curry. The pad thai was solid and the roti was nice and crispy. I would definitely go again just for the wings!
Best Thai food I ve had outside SE Asia! Fresh ingredients with authentic techniques, always satisfies! Just wish they were open past 6pm
I work in the market and I often grab food here on my break. Its so addicting... Plus the staff are so welcoming and nice. They can guess my order before I even open my mouth hehe. love longtail and the team that work here.
Taste good but we waited 25min to get food. Also $18 for pot thai is a bit over priced compare to other thai restaurants in new westminster I think.
Southern Asian food, I ordered pork belly with rice, it came with gailan, so tasty and great combination and portion.
Good service and the foods are tasty.
great chicken wings and great pad thai!
Longtail serves my favorite Pad Thai east of Vancouver! Other places are too bland or too sweet, but Longtail hits all the right notes with tons of wok hei. Also has the fried tofu bits, which I consider a must.
I have eaten here 3 times total. I havent been here for about a year, had a craving for Thai food so this place popped into my head. So happy I came back! The food is expensive, but well worth it. Delicious flavors and fills you up. We got the stir-fryed eggplant, roti with peanut sauce, and long tail chicken wings. All of them were so yummy; the eggplant is something I am definitely ordering again!
Its good, but not unique.
Such a standout at the Quay, I would happily eat every dish on the menu.
Awesome food and service! Just wish they had a few more extra tables for dine in!
I love this place The ingredients were very fresh and yummy! Also, the staff were kind, too :)
Definitely one of the top restaurants of New West! Fried fish ball with the papaya salad and side of rice is my go to meal! They also have the best roti canai ever. A little on the pricey side, but its worth it. Friendly staff, great location. 10/10!
Order the wings and roti you wont be disappointed
Exceptional food - love all of Angus Lees restaurants
Delicious food, attention to detail isn t great. Charged us for chopsticks and bag fee on a take out order, but forgot to pack everything upon pick up, including the chopsticks.
Been waiting a long time to come here and yes I ve finally indulged into some longtail chicken wings and boy were they good. I also really liked the roti with peanut sauce as well. As for the the papaya salad shrimp roll and pad Thai it was mediocre. I like my papaya salad fishy and more funky with the fermented shrimp paste that really kicks it up a notch. Overall a great experience will come back for wings and roti
This amazing place has quickly become my favourite Thai restaurant in the Lower Mainland and is working its way up my list of overall favourite restaurant. Yes, THAT good.
Probably the best out of the sister restaurants. Super tasty, the sauces are all made in house and are amazing, especially the chicken wing sauce. Highly recommend this spot for dine in or take out
They closed on Monday. You need to updated on google. Disappointed.
Great food
Longtail Kitchen? More like Longstale Chicken. This used to be a great Thai place. Unfortunately the quality of the food has deteriorated drastically in the past few months. The chicken was inedible.
Love their fish balls! Looking forward to trying other dishes. Such a cute restaurant setup as well
Everything here is fresh and very tasty. Its a twist on traditional Thai food and extremely delicious. The best food is for sure the wings
Awesome food
Loved the place. Ordered the roti and found it exceptional. Crispy and thin, perfect for dipping in the peanut sauce that it came with. The basil beef was packed with flavor. Wished it was a bit larger but it was fairly priced at $18. The pad see uu was ok. Will try the wings next time. Vegetarian options: Has tofu instead of meat.
Food is ok, I mean, OK. Not excellent nor Wow.
Our favourite neighbourhood restaurant. Everything on the menu that weve tried has been excellent and the staff are really kind and personable!
The best.
Really good and saucy pad Thai! And the pad see ew is also soo good!!! We will be back!
Very nice place. Yummy food.
Got the pad thai chicken, shrimp rolls and wings here. Wings were outstanding. I enjoy this style of cooking vs regular wings just because it s harder to find. The sauce went well with the wings
Had the vegetarian pad Thai, the taste was 5/5. I felt the portion size for the cost was not great, I would have expected a bit more.
Amazing food. Ridiculous closing time. Closing at 6pm means I ll never be able bring my family here. Very very disappointing.
Asked three times for mild. Was told they could put chilies on the side instead of throughout. I asked to skip it. Got to work and it s closer to medium. Now I have nothing I can eat before my shift.
The best pad thai i ve ever had
Good food, seaside seating awesome but a bit pricey relatively speaking.
The wiiiiiiiings. To the people saying that it s overpriced if food is cheap someone is paying for it. That said papaya salad portion was a bit sad for the price would be cool if it was available as an add-on to meals! Enjoy coming here for a good bite by the river
Yummy
Best food Ive had in awhile!!. We had the roti (literally to die for) Chicken wings..so crispy and good flavor And Singapore chicken noodle And the drink was good too I cant wait to go back when in the area
Disappointing... Ordered 2 chicken Pad Thais and the chicken was rancid. Didnt taste anything similar to authentic, noodles were simply drenched in peanut butter oil/sauce & very little effort at adding additional flavour (I ordered spicy) $40+ for noodles in peanut sauce & a tiny bit of old Chicken. Worst Thai food Ive ever eaten, even food courts are better.
.closed too early
One of my favorite places at the River Market. Everything is made fresh in front of you so it takes a bit longer, especially if it is busy but its worth the wait. Everything Ive tried here has been great, and the staff are very friendly. Ive done both take-out and dine-in and its always consistently tasty.
Small good place for Thai food.
I love the Thai food here. The employees are exceptionally polite.
In my opinion, this place is low-key so good that not many people know locally! I tried every food that they have on their menu and everything were very good!! This place is located at the corner of food court of New Westminster quay.. they have a nice patio outside too! If youre first time, I would recommend trying their Chinese Sausage Fried Rice and the Longtail Fried Chicken! They are reasonably priced too!! Highly recommended! Note: Photos taken Pre-Covid
Long wait but it was worth it, loved the fish cakes
My favourite place to eat in the market, everything is so delicious. Love their wings and pad thai.
Best Thai-SE Asian cuisine in all of Van.. Id share a photo but I eat the food too quickly, its that good
Prawn Pad Thai is good as I expected.
I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu. I came on a hot sunny day for lunch. The fried cauliflower wasn t greasy at all. The pad Thai had amazing flavour and perfect heat with juicy shrimp. The chicken wings was perfectly crunchy and seasoned just right. Although it was a lot casual because of the patio seating only it was still enjoyable and delicious.
Ran by the same owner that brought Vancouver Maenam which, in my opinion, serves up the best Thai in town. The place wasnt too busy when we came on a Sunday. You order and pay at the counter then they bring your food to the table. I like my Thai food very very spicy and some places gets a little gun shy when I ask for that, this isnt one of them. Basil beef rice was flavourful, medium portion and not overly expensive for Thai food. Right, wrong or indifferent, you pay a premium for Thai food. I just wish they carried more items from the Freebird menu. I would recommend this place for those who cant always make it out to Maenam, flavour profiles are very similar, just less high end ingredients and more leaning towards Thai soul food. Well return.
Longtail Kitchen has been a staple in my Thai cuisine restaurants for a long time. They pump out wok fresh pad Thai, tantalizing chicken wings (also known as crack wings because theyre THAT good) and delish feature dishes (think spot prawns, dungeness crab dishes). The kitchen crew behind the counter are always friendly and pumping out tunes to keep the vibe relax and fun. Would highly recommend the pad Thai, chicken wings, fried cauliflower and fried rice.
Wonderful staff and delicious food! Im so glad I found my new favourite Thai restaurant. Thanks for the great lunch today Longtail!
Best Thai cuisine in New Westminster, outside of Vancouver. Everything on the menu is excellent. The chicken wings are better than Phnom Penhs. Yeah I said it.
Great place! Got the pad thai chicken and 3 sides to share with my boyfriend. Longtail wings, green papaya salad, and hand pulled roti w/peanut sauce were all delicious. They don t lie about the wings a bit more on the expensive side but we thought it was worth it :)
Good food but close early. Not really geared to serving the neighbourhood with closing at 6pm every day. Would be great if they could stay open later on Friday and the weekend, like the other food places in the river market.
Topshelf . Where mamma keeps the good Thai food . Way up high.
Really great Thai food! Their Pad Thai and Longtail Wings are both fantastic. However, they close incredibly early. Id order from here much more often if they took food orders past 5:30pm. The only way I can ever get food from here is if I decide to have an early dinner... very strange decision.
This place is awesome! Pretty expensive, but I mean the going rate to be fair since your right on the Waterfront. A sweet casual, comfort and relaxed vibe to chow down on some great grub in the sun. We got the Pad See Ew in which the kind and friendly staff were able to accommodate customizing it into a tofu-based veggie option. A plentiful portion of yummy wide rice noodles with a good mound of tofu, egg and veggies and was super yummy. We also got the Roti in peanut sauce to start which was devoured in seconds, wow that stuff is adictive, crazy good!! The menu is focused and specific, specializing in a great selection of delicious Thai cuisine whilst offering both veggie and meat options. I love how this joint uses so much compostable friendly cutlery, eating boxes and bowls as well as cups. Every little change makes a huge positive impact to save our beautiful planet. Khob khun ka !! Support local business!
Super yummy and good price point. Not a lot of indoor seating and somewhat limited patio seating so go when there s good weather and be prepared to wait (though we did not have to today)! Tried half the menu (basically) - everything tasted great.
We ordered basil pork and egg with rice, and a green curry tofu. Both dishes were good, and the presentation was good as well. Staff were polite and they came to fill water several times. The food was not cheap though - $16 per dish (for the items we ordered). If you are in the area, this restaurant is worth a try.
Absolutely phenomenal food! Very tasty, good portions for the price. Ive ordered from here several times and Ive never been disappointed. The pad thai and drunken noodles are some of the best Ive had highly recommend.
My favourite place for Thai food. Staff is always friendly and the food is freshly made, the favours are always on point!
Love their Pad see ew beef and their chicken wings!!!
Tasty food nice view of the river.
Food was very good, worth the drive and can t beat that location on the quay.
Our go to place at the quay...Always go for wings, Chicken and Shrimps Pad Thai..
Some of the best wings hands down in all of Vancity! Longtail is the most consistently delicious joint in New West, be it eat in, take out, or delivery. Their staples are all on point, with perfectly balanced pad thais and pad see ew, to flavourful pork bellys and crispy prawn spring rolls. Their roti is also great savoury or sweet with the condensed milk. As a special, their khao soi is easily the best in Vancouver, it really needs to be added to their main menu! You will not be disappointed ordering from Longtail!
Not bad to find authentic Pad Thai in New West. Noodles were cooked perfectly, served a great lime (not the dried ones) and uniquely they added dried cabbage ! Seating is not the best but there s a seating area in the food court. Will be back!
These guys are awesome. Pad Thai and the chicken wings are delicious
The pad Thai was delicious
Their Chinese sausage fried rice is really good. They brought us the dishes even though we were on the river market tables outside their restaurant.
Perfect pad see ew noodles are done just right. I just wish they still had their butter prawns. I moved away for a couple years and when I came back it wasn t on the menu anymore. They were these prawns fried with kale on a bed of rice. Super crunchy and it was out of this world please bring it back! :) This will always be my favourite Thai place though. Big fan
