424 E Columbia St, New Westminster, BC V3L 3W9, Canada
Sensational Thai cuisine paired with delicious BC wines and craft beers in New Westminster. Enjoy explosive Thai flavours in dishes cooked from scratch using premium ingredients, produce and meats and garnished with freshly carved fruits and vegetables. An intimate dining experience awaits you!
We ordered tom yum goong soup which was passable, and pad Thai - this was extremely bland, missing major ingredients such as fish sauce, lime, bean sprouts, garlic, shallots, and peanuts.
We found this little gem on a long walk and decided to give it a try after wandering around the area looking for a place to eat. The owner was so friendly and the service and food were great. We really enjoyed our lunch and the wonderful chat with the owner. Portions are generous, prices very reasonable, and we each had leftovers to take home. We’ll be back.
We initially started eating here during COVID to support a local business. They did excellent takeout, and we have been regular customers ever since. Fresh, tasty food and really lovely people.
We just love Vara and Teg and this family run restaurant and its warm atmosphere . The food is always delicious and can be tailor made for people who can’t handle spicy food ( we order mild for my hubby and she brings out chilis for me to add to my plate). We especially love the red curry , the lettuce wraps , and the massamum curry, but everything is delicious . Support this family restaurant , you won’t regret it.
We randomly stumbled across this restaurant, and I'm glad we tried it out. We were greeted by the owner and promptly served with menus and water. The menu is relatively small but packs in the main dishes you're seeking for within Thai cuisine staples. I've dined at many Thai restaurants and am always quietly impressed when Tom Yum is done well and has a good balance of sweet, sour and heat! The spiciness is accurate, so go easy when selecting how hot (spicy) you like your dishes. Thai iced tea and coffee are always a must, and now that mangoes are back in season, the sticky rice dessert with mango is my favorite go-to. Thank you for the excellent service and great conversation, Teg. Will definitely be back to try out the massaman curry!
So after seeing so many reviews of this place on the eat new west Facebook group it was time to try out Thai New West. The dishes were very well constructed with lovely presentation and tasted so very good. Our server was very kind, friendly and helpful. I had the Pad Med Ma Muang and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had the Pad Bai Horpa. *Big* bonus that our dishes had more meat than vegetables which is not the normal and the vegetables were very fresh tasting. My husband finished with Black Rice Pudding. He (really) enjoyed it. I was too full to try it. We will be back.
This is our new go-to restaurant for Thai food. The portions are smaller compared to other Thai eateries, but the flavours make up for their lack in size. Our regular favourites like curry and lettuce wraps taste better here! The smaller servings mean there's room for dessert. We tried the deep-fried plantains and they were satisfying. Needless to say, we're definitely coming back.
It is a small place but it felt like we're in a fine dining restaurant minus the white linen with a spa-like ambience. For a moment we forgot about Covid as this place is extremely clean. Food is superb! Flavourful that you could taste everything was prepared from scratch (except the ice cream). The Thai New West Restaurant is now my favourite Thai restaurant.
Their food is usually pretty good, but dont count on being able to order takeout. They NEVER answer their phone.
My favorite thai restaurant in New Westminster by far, the food is delicious and staff super friendly, the atmosphere makes you feel right like home.
A nice place to visit while on the way somewhere.
Such great authentic food! This place is truly a hidden gem 10/10 recommend!!! So yummy!
Delicious food! Will return! Service was great and super personal. Recommend fully.
A local gem in Sapperton new west. Under rated spot. I ve dined in a couple times, but i particularly enjoy their desert menu. If you are looking for a sweet treat with high quality ingredients I would recommend this place on their desert menu alone. I ve only tried the coconut curry, but I ve ordered it every time because of how much I enjoy it.
I had lunch with my friend. Owner is friendly. Green curry dish is good. Dessert is great!!
Terrible customer service. I love their Pad Kee Mao and I have been a regular customer (first time dining in) for that until today. The waitress brought food and it didn t look like Pad Kee Mao I always get. It was pad see ew. So I asked her if this is Pad Kee Mao and she was 100 percent sure it was. After a few bites, I felt lied to and compared it to the description on the Menu and then she finally took my plate the to chef and corrected it. Not even a simple apology.
Place was good before but now the food is just bad. No taste at all. Seems like the chef forgot to season at all nor were there any spices. Not sure if they got a new chef but very disappointed.
Food Service is too slow . They should hire more chef . We waited for 45 mins and the food still hasn t come .. so sad but overall the taste is good
My family has been coming to Thai New West for years! We always enjoy the food, service and good time. Thank you
This food made me sick. It wasn t just the worst Thai food I ve had, but literal slop.
Excellent food, humane prices, and a decent atmosphere. Very glad my foodie nephew took us here
The food is really good. Id recommend the Tom Yum. It was my first time trying the dish and it was incredible meal.
Worst Thai food I have ever had. This place gives a brand new meaning to bland and tasteless food. Boring, boring, boring. I am never going again. Starving is better.
I ordered 4 different dishes for take out, and requested for all of them to have a medium spice level. 2 dishes had zero spice, and 2 dishes were EXTREMELY spicy. So spicy that it was borderline inedible.
Amazing food and service. Will be back
We ordered a few dishes for New Years Eve and we were left disappointed. We found the food to be bland with little to no spice.
The taste is good, but the waiting time is too long. There were only four tables occupied when we went, and one of them came behind us. There were only two people per table and we waited 45 minutes for a bowl of fried rice and a bowl of yellow curry.
First time in here after so long of searching after they closed at 49th. The food here is 10/10. Everything was serve warm and the food was plated like a professional, props to the chef here. This is probably gonna be one of my favourite Thai restaurant. Recommended drink- Guava its 10/10.
Very busy on a Saturday night. Service was fast and food was excellent, as usual. Prices are very reasonable and portions were filling.
We ordered food for our group and it was not great we barely got enough to feed all of us we didnt get enough for almost 80 worth of food
Visited again today! Great place :-) Fresh ingredients and nice vibes. Ordered pad Thai and the green curry. I m delighted by the pad Thai here. The egg is fluffy and the spice is perfect!
Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and their Khao Pad. Pad Thai was bland and their chicken tasted boiled. The only flavour apparent was something like store bought tomato sauce. Felt as though the pad thai had been cooked separately from the chicken and later reheated. Khao Pad was passable, I suppose. It was not good all the same. Not worth the $60 or both myself and my partner getting food poisoning.
The spring rolls were amazing. The best Ive ever had. The other two dishes were a perfect balance of flavour and variety, with the largest prawns Ive ever been served in a restaurant.
Weve spent 10yrs in Asia and the food here takes me right back to Thailand. Great portion size, delicious flavours and lovely service.
We came here few times , the food is okay price regular $20 + per person
I have always loved Thai food but the Thai that I got here was bland and less than appetizing, sorry
My Family took me there for Fathers Day dinner. The food was really tasty and well presented. And the price was reasonable. This is great value for the quality of food. I particularly enjoyed the pineapple curry dish. And we shared the mango sticky rice dessert. Four dishes and dessert came to $98
Nice place, delicious food, clean, and kind staff
The food was delicious, our first time there. Our order took a while but well worth the wait and the price was good as well. Will definitely go back and the owner was super friendly
The food here is amazing! My husband and I eat here often and are never disappointed. The service is always great and they have a lot of gluten free options as well. Highly recommend!
Was not expecting to have such tasty Thai food in New West. I went here on a whim with a client (his choice) and I was pleasantly surprised. Not exactly a hole in the wall but this charming restaurant is very unassuming. I ordered the green curry which is my personal favourite dish from any Thai restaurant, and I must say- this one would be very hard to beat! Excellent flavour and very friendly service, I will definitely be back here again! The Thai iced tea and the spring rolls are to die for too.
Amazing Thai food. Tried it on a whim while walking by and was super happy with the experience. The yellow curry was great. Tender chicken, lots of veggies. Won t go wrong trying this place.
Service is appalling, like they hate you for being there. The food tastes like nothing, while Thai is supposed to have spices and a lot of flavour... What they serve is not Thai food. Wont go again.
We have eaten and ordered out from Thai New West a few times over the years and have always been impressed with the freshness and flavour of the Thai food. We do not usually leave reviews but felt last night s take out necessitated this. In short, it was awful. The ingredients tasted off and the flavours unappetizing. At least half of our party could not finish their meal and we have since thrown out the left overs. Hoping this was a one off but hopefully this review will be constructive and assist with improving whatever that was last night.
If you want to be ignored, constantly have to flag down the waiter/waitress and be made to feel like you re an annoyance for patronizing their restaurant this is where you should eat. Not one follow up as to how my food was, no proactive refilling of my water, nothing. The food definitely isn t worth this. Just an awful experience.
It was a great experience. I tried green curry for the first time in my life, and I love it. And delicious coconut rice. 100000000% Ill come back again.(Thai style iced coffee is very sweet )
Ordered take out and got the pad Thai and the red curry. Red curry was mediocre, small portion size, but the pad Thai was the worst. I got through Uber eats and order it with prawns but I got chicken instead. Not a big deal but it just tasted terrible. I don t think you re supposed to see the egg but I just had scrambled eggs put on top. No taste, too expensive and just a bad experience overall. Never getting anything from here again
the service was terrible. took forever to get water. never filled it back up. never checked back on us. also took forever for the food to come out. it wasnt busy at all yet there were multiple dirty tables that were left unclean for the duration of our meal. it was an eyesore! the only time she came over to our table was because my date was groaning loudly about how he was done eating and then she finally came over to give us the check. will not be coming back.
Amazing food, relaxing environment, and friendly people. Its a favorite place to go.
Decent portions and nice atmosphere!
Favourite Thai Restaurant in New Westminster by far!!! And probably in the lower mainland - at least in terms of what we re looking for! We order takeout here . . . probably weekly and order: Pad Thai Green Curry Lettuce Wraps Coconut Rice It allows our family of 3 (although 1 member is only 1.5 years old) dinner and then left overs for the next day too! They re also very accommodating of our 1.5 year olds spice tolerance
Delicious food that is consistent.
Good food. Priced like gold. You spend 20$ per dish on average.
I dont know if the ownership of the restaurant has changed. The food quality has significantly worsened the last couple of times we have wanted Thai food. The quality of ingredients and fresh vegetables have disappeared. So so disappointed with the food now. Dont waste your money on this place.....
We dined in the restaurant which was freezing cold. One meal arrived to our table cold, two others were just warm. One of our dishes was ordered spicy, but they made a different dish the spicy one. Food was absolutely delicious, but service was really lacking. After our meals arrived we were never asked how things were. Dishes average about $20 each, which I consider on the high end for Thai.
Food is delicious and service is excellent. Ask for recommendations and you wont be disappointed. Enjoy!
Loved the food, real authentic flavour, little mild though, but full of flavours. A must go place. Just missed thai chilli paste.
Restaurant is so beautiful and the pad thai here is really delicious and my go-to.
Tasty food, quick service, extraordinary ambience, reasonable price, friendly service. Go for it.
My boyfriend and I were starving and in need of dinner. We saw New West Thai was open for about another 35 minutes. We felt bad about going right before close but said wed eat quick and let them finish up their night. Our server was lovely and patient. Our food was incredible, the best either of us had had in years. My boyfriend got the Pad See Ew and I got the Pad Med Ma Muang and both were fantastic. We were very happy with the quality of our dishes. We snuck in the Saku dessert as well, warm tapioca pudding with bananas and even that was DELICIOUS. We honestly cant wait to go back.
I have come here about 5 times now. While the pad Thai is good (about $18-20), the service is not. The lady who works there seems to always have an attitude and when you come in she doesn t greet you nicely and when she takes your order she s also a bit rude. I kept going back because Its close to the hospital and hoping she would be different but today was it . Just because of the attitude, I wouldn t come back. :/
It was one of my favourite restaurants but not anymore :(. There was only one lady working in the restaurant, and she did not take our order for more than 15 mins because she was on the phone. We were the only table in the restaurant but she did not seem to care about us much : ( I hope they improve!
A hidden gem in the Sapperton area
This is such a lovely restaurant . The owners are warm and go out if their way to meet every expectation you might have . Beautiful food !!!! I forgot to take pictures because we were too busy devouring it . If there were 10 stars I d click that . Love love love this restaurant .
Their cashew beef/chicken was horrible. The lowest quality beef and chicken I ve seen in a long time. I literally had a few bites and gave it to my dog.
Food was good. The thai ice tea is always my favorite. I recommend
Good service, good food, good environment and good location!
The place looks like an upscale Thai restaurant and the quality of the food we ordered speaks for itself. Teg was able to accommodate my daughter s food allergies which is huge for us! We will definitely be back again soon!
Great little gem firing out delicious food! I d be here once a week if I lived closer. Massive portions, on point with the spice level, and service that is not pushy. We had a gluten free request and the host was honest about what substitutes could be made. As the guy on food network would say: you gotta eat here!!!
Amazing food and amazing service everytime. Try the drunken noodles for sure
Our new favourite restaurant! So Delicious and authentic Thai cuisine! Very nice and friendly staff. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes for sure!
Food sucks and it s very expensive for that kind of food. No recommended.
Disappointing (2.5/5 ) My usual Thai restaurant is temporarily closed so I decided to check this place out because it was only a 5min bus ride away. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai with extra chicken and a small side of Satay sauce, asked for 3.5/5 for spice because I read another review saying it wasn t very spicy and the restaurant replied they usually prepare dishes at a 2/5 for spice unless specified. I picked my order up at the time they said it would be ready and ate some immediately when I got outside and was waiting for my bus. It was very hot so it couldn t have been sitting there long but the noodles were soggy, which was a real let down, and it was also the sweetest Pad Thai I d ever had, for a minute I d wondered if they gave me the wrong dish. Nothing green in it at all, though there s not a lot of veggies mentioned in the description so I guess that s just how they do it here, and also INCREDIBLY mild, like not even a 1/5 for spice. I understand that everyone has a different idea of spicy but this was so mild it was to the point that I wonder if they misunderstood what I d asked for. Large portion size, as I would hope for the cost, and it wasn t exactly a bad dish, though not what I expect when I order Pad Thai. I d be willing to try them again while my usual place is closed with the hope that something just went wrong that night, but if my second order comes out the same as the first I ll have to just switch to Korean/Japanese/Chinese while I wait for my usual place to reopen. Restaurant was clean and attractive, staff was nice.
Great food. Casual atmosphere, a bit noisy.
Understaffed, Bad Food Quality, Unfriendly Server. Would never go back.
The lousiest thai restaurant Ive ever been. Food and services are bad. Waited an hour for food to come out and it was a huge disappointment. I told the only server working there about the food experience. She is aware that the coconut rice was cooked with too much coconut milk and it is mushy. So my question is, if you know the food has a problem, then why do you continue serving it to your customer??? This doesnt make sense at all!!! Telling your customer that people dont order massaman curry with coconut rice is also rude & uncalled for. You know the coconut rice is not done correctly and yet you blame your customer order? The Pad thai noodle - mushy, overcooked, soggy. Missing the chopped peanuts on top. Massaman curry - meh, too sweet to my liking. Coconut rice - mushy Understaffed kitchen with 1 server taking tons of online orders & customers dining in are a recipe for a disaster. The only saving grace for this place is the thai ice tea. Definitely will not come back
Sunday afternoon, not busy at all, great tasting food, surprised very much as I was getting ready to eat something else. Dishes were big, tables clean, service great. Well be back soon. Food : 5/5
The best Thai food in NW.
This place is elegant with an awesome vibe. I went for lunch and the food was amazing. The service was speedy and friendly. Their Yellow curry is absolutely incredible, Creamy, and the chicken is tender, with a blend of sourness from the tomato! This lone visit has made this one of my favorite spots in the New West!!! Definitely will come back again!!!
Not the same as years ago.. super disappointed! Service was slow food was so under flavored with soggy noodles. We didnt finish our food. Is this different owners than before? No chicken satay on the menu. Save your money. This place needs a restaurant over haul with some flavor.
We have had take out numerous times the food is good but when we ask for spicy it comes most times with NO spice. This has happened the last 2 times we ordered and other times in the past over the past couple of years. We add our own spice but it is not the same when added after cooking. This time not only was there no spice but the food was cold when we got home. We live 4 blocks and it is a mess 1min drive. Also we know with Covid that prices have gone up to make up for the delivery app costs but why not give a small discount for pick up like others.
Fresh ingredients and very flavourful food! One of the better Thai places weve tried. The ambiance is nice which makes it great place for a date. The prices were on the high end but the quality was there. Service was a bit slow but its because they were understaffed. Would highly recommend!
Thai New West is my favourite Thai restaurant of all time. The food is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The owners are kind and friendly. Favourite dishes include cashew chicken, swimming Rama, masaman curry, lettuce wraps, pad thai. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
Amazing Thai food. The appetizers, the pad Thai, the curry all taste great.
Food was delicious. the restaurant could use slightly enhanced covid protocol though.
We order medium spice level and it was very very spicy. The owner was rude and refused to serve another dish. Also we order red and yellow curry and it was just identical. The quality of food is also not very good. And it is too pricey for what is served
Always great food, tasty, and spicy when requested. I ve been coming here for years and as long as it exists I will continue to do so.
Pad thai was not flavourful and there was barely any chicken in it, they packed it full of tofu. Being probably the most expensive thai restaurant in New west, I expected more. The spring rolls however were good.
Excellent green curry with chicken.
The Yellow Currey is super delicious and cant go wrong with a lettuce wrap too.
Great Mom and Pop place.
The food was amazing and the service was perfect. I highly recommend eating here, I know I will be coming back .
The food here is delicious! Warm atmosphere and friendly staff. A new local favourite.
Slowest, no care at all service. Stood at the door for a few minutes and the server who had 3 other tables seated in the small restaurant couldnt acknowledge me. Finally sat down, after waiting half an hour for a plate of very average Pad Thai I wasnt asked if I needed anything, how my food was, nothing. Also there was a hair in it. If you want below average Thai food for a premium price, I would recommend ordering out from here instead of sitting in unless you like having the server not care about you. Wont be coming back here again.
Not at all tasty and not worth the money. Worst ever thai food in my life.
Food and service was good, but it was very cold inside
Weve been here a number of times, and the food has always been outstanding. The service is also very good. Its a simple looking restaurant run by people who care about their customers.
Love the fresh spices and super tasty dishes
Very Good Amazing food The best Thai food in Vancouver You have to try it
Papaya salad is very good, mango stinky rice is good! Totally love this restaurant
Always great eats with authentic flavours. Was a little chilly inside and we were near the doors
I wish the pad Thai had green onion in it :) overall really friendly staff and great food. The Laab is great!
First visit to Thai New West tonight, definitely planning on going back! Great food, generous portions, friendly and polite staff. Real, authentic flavours. Each dish is is full of fresh, quality ingredients!
Great food, great atmosphere and excellent service. If youre looking for Thai food in New West, this is the place! The Pad Thai is incredible! I will be returning soon!
Love the lunch specials - perfect size !
Ordered beef pad-thai noodle to go today. It was a disappointing dish. The noodles were clumpy and hard. The beef was tough and dry and does not taste well-seasoned (Pro: good portion of beef, con: does not taste good). The dish is not cohesive - Looks like the Cook cooked the noodles with bean sprout, and the beef separately, as it is added to the top of the noodle, and the egg (man, the egg is disappointing... it was just scrambled separately and put on top of the noodles) Then the Cook sprinkled with some crushed peanuts. Definitely had better pad thai dish elsewhere.
By far, our families favorite restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff are wonderful! Can t recommend them enough!!
Papaya salad and drunken noodles are my favorites!
Great food, great staff. One of the best Pad Thai dishes Ive ever had. You can tell the owner wishes nothing but to keep his customers happy, and for that we keep coming back.
Always the best experience and the food is so good every time. Really good quality, genuine and nice service. This is in our top 3 favorite restaurants in new west!
Some of the best Thai food Ive ever eaten! The quality is impressive. My favorites are the lettuce wraps and yellow curry.
I was craving thai food and I wanted to support local so I decided to order take out. I ordered the pad thai, green curry, fried rice and tom yum soup. The green curry and the tom yum soup was great! but super small portions of a high price tag of $18.50 for the soup and $24 for the curry. See photo attached. But what was REALLY bad was the pad thai and the fried rice. Both were super soggy. Noodles were broken up, no heat flavour whatsoever, lacked flavor and they probably used ketchup not tamarind sauce. And the fried rice was soggy, used fresh rice not day old rice and both dishes tasted so bad. Not authentic whatsoever. Highly disappointed. For the price tag of $111 for 4 items, I was very disappointed.
The food is really yummy. I had the Massamman curry with prawns, medium spicy. It was very good. Portions here are reasonable.
Delicious and healthy foods
Tried this place out yesterday with a friend. Friendly and attentive service with fair prices. I ordered the Pad See Ew and noticed that the noodles were not the larger ones that are more traditional with that dish, which was odd. Regardless, it still tasted good. Although, have had better Thai food elsewhere, its still worth a shot and I would recommend this place and would try it again.
Hyped restaurant for sure. Unreasonable prices for the quality and portion. If you google, youll find much better thai food nearby.
Ordered chicken green curry. No chicken at all. Pretty disappointed.
We LOVE Thai new west! Everything weve ordered has been terrific. Love the staff and the ambience. No other place compares for us!
Never been here before. Ordered a pad thai for take out today, almost the worst pad thai ive ever had. it just taste like sugar. I had to add some lime juice and sprinkle some salt on it at home to make it taste better. Honestly disappointing since it has pretty good reviews......
Suuuuper SLOW service. We had waited for 1 hour for 2 stir fried dishes from 7:30 to 8:30pm. I mean, seriously? Have been to a lot of busy restaurants during busy dinner time, none of them took this slow to serve foods. Improve ur efficiency plsssss. And the taste is fair like many cheaper thai restaurants than here
Best Thai food Ive ever tasted in Vancouver
The service in this restaurant is really not good enough. The food is too slow and average.
The owner of this restaurant has terrible service and poor taste. I don t know what kind of restaurant he has the courage to open.
long time to wait
Visited last night and had a wonderful dining experience. This little gem is located in Sapperton and my girlfriend took me there on my birthday. It has a classic upscale ambience and the food is delicious and very well presented. Hand carved carrot flowers on every dish makes one feel special. We had teh yellow curry and pad thai and both were very tasty. It was also nice to see a Thai restaurant offering a good selection of BC wines and we had a glass of Kettle Valley cabernet sauvignon. Will be back soon to try more dishes.
Fantastic Thai dining experience in New Westminster. Went there when they first opened and they have only gotten better. The larb salad was exceptional. Highly recommend it. Nice formal environment and gracious service.
Delicate Thai Feast Visited Thai New West before going to Massey Theatre and thoroughly enjoyed the food that not only tasted great but was very well presented. The flavours were delicate and portions generous, unfortunately we could not take away leftovers as we were going to a show. The spring rolls, drunken noodles and panang curry were all very very delicious. Highly recommend it.
Yummy Thai food right here in new westminster. Stylish and romantic environment, great music and service with a notable wine list. Everything tastes fresh with awesome thai flavours. Had Pad Prik King and Prawn Pad Thai, both were very good. Two thumbs up.
I have been to almost every Thai restaurant in the lower mainland, and i have to say that Thai New West is hands down the BEST i have ever had. I live in Delta and will drive to New Westminster just to eat here. Do yourself a favour and try it. You will be back. Great food and fantastic service.
Lovely dinner in New West. While recently visiting my family in New Westminster, we visited this beautiful restaurant. Its very nicely decorated and the food is 5+ stars. Really enjoyed the Pad Thai, the owner came and recommended us to squeeze the lime that garnishes this dish, what a nice and caring touch. The food is tasty and plated beautifully and a wonderful selection of wines and beers.
Was going to give 3 starts but we had a party of 20 so I feel that some of my complaints my not be totally fair. However I did enjoy my meal
Go to Thai food in the lower mainland. Small quiet. Great good.
Went here for mother in laws bday and the service and food were excellent!
The food was delicious, presentation was top tier and the little restaurant has decent seating (lighting is a bit dark). Thai milk tea is beautifully presented, youll have to mix it and I enjoyed that visual instead of it being premixed although the amount of ice makes it difficult.
Im no connoisseur but this is one the top restaurants in Vancouver. It had been recommended to us by friends, we live in Kelowna and on a previous visit tried Thai New West. Immaculate presentation, fresh and tasty dishes (Pad Prik Khing, Green Curry) paired very well with a BC chardonnay. The service was excellent and Im sure we will be returning again on our next visit to Vancouver.
This is my absolutely favorite Thai restaurant. Their food is delicious every time and the presentation is beautiful. The staff is very lovely as well! My favorite dishes are the spring rolls and Gaeng Garden with yellow curry. Dont forget the Thai iced tea!!
Cute and cozy little place, I was there last time with my husband and the food was delicious, but the drinks were too sweat for my taste. Next time I go there I will try the Jasmine tea with my food to balance it out. Yes, I would definitely go back there.
The good: liked the Thai iced tea, and spring roll that came with the lunch. Server was friendly. The bad: main dishes tasted mediocre, definitely not up to the 4 or 5 star rating. Portions were small considering the lunch price. I dont know how this place can have such a high rating but its not a place Ill want to revisit.
Nice place good food (maybe dishes are a bit too sweet) good service.
Very tasty, well priced, good portion sizes, and very friendly staff. Had the Massaman curry with pork, pineapple fried rice with chicken, and stir fried noodles with beef. All very good, and great flavours! Definitely will go back again and highly recommend it.
My favorite restaurant. I always crave the food from here; whenever I come to Canada stopping here is a must. Everything is lovely ~ beautiful service and very good food thank you!
Terrible service! Ordered at 7:30 and after an hour and 15 mins had to walk out because the food wasnt out and they didnt know how long it would be. When I told the server we were upset she was rude and unapologetic. Avoid like the plague!
Paeeeeee
Wow, the pad sew ew was delish! Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was aromatic. Would definitely come here again
This Thai restaurant is very fresh and the flavors jump out very tasty really have great atmosphere friendly staff a must try
Fantastic food and great service, far better than some of their busier competitors.
I have tried too many Thai restaurants and this is definitely a hidden gem! Amazing food and generous portion. You can taste the real, authentic flavour because they use fresh and quality ingredient and you can see the spices and herbs in the dishes too. The staff is very friendly and polite as well. My favourite Thai restaurant in Greater Vancouver area and I already know that I will be returning time over time.
Hopefully a one-off experience, this was ours; Pro s: fine setting, polite server and attractive (sounding) menu Con s: 50-minute wait on a standard table order with a prior booking during a tame serving period. Upon the second ETA request for our meals, the floor manager rolled her eyes to their cook and didn t bother to keep us updated. We walked out. This was a Birthday dinner for a family that rarely eats out. I don t doubt this place could produce a quality dine-in experience, however, our experience was gravely disappointing.
The place is always a bit too dark for my liking and it gets really loud when there is a full crowd due to the tiny space. The food quality is average and doesnt taste authentic (more on the sweet and less spicy side). I had their chicken based dishes and they were overcooked.
Maybe not the fastest service but Tom yam is like in Bangkok. Hence 5*.
This restaurant is always great!
Amazing food with a nice atmosphere... Great staff...
Nice thai food in new west their lunch specials are good snd filling. Service is quick.
Excellent meal! Great flavours, well-sized portions and beautiful presentation. The restaurant has a cozy and elegant feel and the service is attentive. A very good beverage selection with BC wines and craft beers. I cannot say a single negative thing about our dining experience...we will be back!
When ordering from a Thai restaurant for the first time, my first pick is always the Pad Thai. Something simple that really shouldnt be done wrong. The Pad Thai from Thai New West was bland and lacking any flavour at all. Almost as if it had no seasoning whatsoever.
This restaurant has been in this neighbourhood for many years but inside looks very new and clean. My kids love their Pad Thai so much. Fabulous food and great service. Definitely recommend this place to friends.
Good food but took too long! Expensive!
Excellent food! The Pad Thai was one of the best Ive ever eaten. Would have appreciated better A/C. Altogether, amazing meal.
Excellent food.
We had takeout for an important family function. The proprietor suggested email to give me a menu suggestion. Unfortunately, I emailed the restaurant at 7 p.m. on Friday night to confirm the order for 6:30 the next evening. The proprietor apparently did not check his email from 7 p.m. on Friday to 6:30 on Saturday and the order didnt go in. Please, if you are using email for business, you cant go 24 hours without checking it once. Like I said, this was an important family function. The proprietor suggested Vegetarian spring rolls, chicken pad thai, red beef curry, cashew chicken, mixed vegetables and jasmine rice. To be honest, I thought the combination was not very exciting and a bit pedestrian, but since we have not tried this restaurant before we decided to trust his judgement. Everyone found the whole meal to be quite bland. The pad thai was very poor, consisting of noodles and chicken and maybe a little egg. The sauce might have been ketchup. No peanuts? No cilantro?? Chef, you need to do better for $15. Both the cashew chicken and the mixed vegetables really had the same base, which was oil with a bit of stock. It was disappointing that the dishes were so similar. Only the beef curry had good flavors even though it was far too mild. Considering the quality of food and the relatively high prices, we probably wont be back. Our party was also very surprised that given the large order and the screw up with the email, that we werent offered any discount or complementary dish.

Great food and even better service. Extensive menu with a great variety to choose from. Very flavour full and as spicy as you want as it is cooked to order.
Nice cozy environment. Good food. Local gem.
Always consistent with delicious and authentic Thai food. I have been coming back to this spot since they opened over five years ago and you can taste the passion and love that goes into each and every dish! Great hosts as well and very welcoming!
