WARNING: the food truck guy says tap again when you use contactless payment and you get charged twice. fell for this when he said it didn t go through tap again. Luckily I was using Apple Pay and noticed two transactions. Told him and he tried to give me back $10 for a $13.06 claiming taxes lol. What a moron. He handed me $3 more after I called him out on it. Never going again. He did it to foreign student ahead of me who only had a card and may not have noticed the extra charge.

Absolutely delicious! My favorite spot for a study snack, the shawarma is second to absolutely none.

I worked near this food truck. Their food is very tasty and the potion size is good. The problem Is that they never give you the correct change and it s always to their advantage. My advised is please know the price of the food and count your change.

I had very high expectations for this food truck. The food did not meet them. The food EXCEEDED far past what I thought it would taste like. For a food truck, I don t think I have tasted better halal food. 10/10 would come again.

I hate to do this and the food isnt usually bad at all however the last time I went to this place I was ripped off of such a small amount of chicken for the price. The guys on the weekend are cool but for some reason the guy I just went to at first tried to over charge me then gave me a small amount of food for the price I paid. I dont understand why he did that smh. And also I dont know if this food is fried or not. I was thinking it was grilled. But this time it tasted fried and very oily...I cant eat fried foods. I hope I dont get sick

My friend brought me to Hooda 3 days ago. It just changed my view on chicken over rice. This place is SOOOO GOOD!!!!! I brought another 3 friends yesterday to Hooda again and they all loved it! Don t hesitate, just go there! You will be amazed. (Their hot sauce is soooooooo delicious as well!!!) Besides, these 2 guys in the truck, they are so nice, diligent and charming while they pivot in their works. It s always nice to see these beautiful people who are making our community better!!!!

Best lamb gyro I ve had in the city. Just . wow. Do yourself a favor and try this place. The chicken kebab over rice was also outstanding. We lived nearby for a year now and hadn t tried this until tonight, but now we ll be regulars for sure.

There is a second 117th St location, a big truck, right up the street at the entrance to Barnard College. Stimulating food! Great lamb over rice. Skip the hot sauce if you have a sensitive tummy, but either way, fantastic food!

By far the best Halal cart around Columbia. I tend to eat here 2-3 times a week, and its always good.

Kareem has the best halal cart in nyc. It s that simple. Combo lamb and chicken over rice with a lot of white sauce and a little bit of red. Thank me later. There is no better meal for $5.50 in the world. There are times of day where it s cooked better but I had it basically 2x a day for over a year and always loved it. Kareem s cart is a place I will go out of my way to eat at any time I m in NYC again.

Honestly one of the best food cart experiences Ive had in New York. The service was fine, and the food took a little bit of time to come out but it was very fairly priced, filling, and tasty. I will advise, the hot sauce is pretty strong, so try at your own discretion.

This truck has a problem with double charging credit cards. Their CC machine is up high where you cant see it and they dont give receipts even if asked for, so you cant see what they charged. So I checked my credit card online afterwards and sure enough, double charged. I have the charge in dispute right now with the credit card company. Too bad because the food is excellent.

Pretty good, would give five stars but occasionally you get bad luck and theres one dude who will give u a gyro half the size of the regular one thats also poorly wrapped.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself a trip. I work late at night and they amongst a few other places in the area are open late. I preordered food from this place FOUR HOURS in ADVANCE using UberEats for pick up. Mind you it s raining at 12am, I m tired from my shift, and I had to make the trek on foot from my job. They proceeded to give my 30$ order away to a random stranger and told me that an Uber delivery person picked it up. On the Uber app it clearly says I picked it up. It s impossible for anyone from Uber to pick up your meal if it s pickup because hello you re supposed to pick it up. So I m 30$ poorer and starving. I explain the situation to them and they awkwardly ignore me. They then proceed to ask me if I want to ORDER food!!!?? Don t waste your money, and if you do for the love of god don t third party order.

Fast enough for what seems like decent ingredients, its friendly enough for a place thats taking on orders, and the food is good. I even give the atmosphere 5 stars because of the Columbia University area being an easygoing area. I wish they had green sauce, but I cant take away from what they do have.

I had the chicken and lamb over rice, and the meats were fresh, incredibly juicy, and far from being dried out. The overall taste was nothing short of extraordinary. This spot outshines every halal cart Ive ever had the pleasure of trying in my entire life. I must extend my heartfelt appreciation to the courteous and professional staff. His service added an extra layer of enjoyment to the entire experience.

This is easily one of the best lamb and chicken over rice plates Ive ever had. The lamb was perfectly tender, juicy and seasoned. We were raving about it. Plus, the people in the truck were very sweet.

Sooo good! I love the halal cart, yummy and quick! Sometimes it s a little too oily and there have been times where the chicken to veggie ratio was off (why so many carrots?) But overall very delicious and a classic New York/ college experience

Best Halal cart in Morningside heights but I really wish they d stop using styrofoam containers! I thought they were illegal now. I d go more often (and be willing to pay a little more) if they d switch to compostable packaging.

I m pretty experienced with Mediterranean cuisine since Bay Ridge is my neighborhood. Many carts don t live up to my expectations, but this cart was very good. Not just the lamb and chicken, but the falafel too! These Halal carts don t always make the falafel fresh, but it seems they do at this spot. Quick service too, although I caught them when they didn t have a line.

The food is great and fast. Best nearby. However, it is priced higher, by like $3, and they seemed to have cornered the market opening a new location, which may be blocking some of the smaller carts. There is usually a line. I would recommend.
