I would give this location zero stars if I could. There is a lot to be unhappy with. I will start with the fact that they seem to close early quite often. Like this weekend, when they closed before 8 PM. I asked why they closed early and was told it was for Columbus day. I never heard of a restaurant closing early the day before a holiday. I can tell that the workers are regularly pushing to close early or as fast as possible, because Ive been in there 1 hour before closing and they are cleaning the areas where the food trays sit while consolidating them and saying that they are out of many things. I see them spraying cleaning solution and using wash rags right next to the food trays that they are giving to customers. This is extremely unsanitary, and they could use a health inspection visit. When I saw what they were doing, I walked out. This place needs new management and workers extremely badly. Update: No improvements from my above reviews. Also, on the credit card payment scanner, you are prompted for tip, with the extremely poor service, I dont want to give a tip, the selection for no tip, says press F, but I couldnt find the F key, only to realize that the F key on both scanners had been covered by white tape, so no one could see it to select it. Im pretty sure that illegal. This whole location needs to be investigated by consumer affairs.

This place has let me down too many times not to leave a review. Consistently missing ingredients to make a salad and the one time I did get a salad it tasted completely wrong. Same high price sadly.

Obsessed get the Cashew spicy dressing

Wow this was/is the most disgusting sweet greens I ve ever had. Do not order delivery from here. I ordered twice and both times my food came: open, less than quarter full, and none of the additions I paid for .. on both occasions.

Worse sweet greens location. Some workers always seem annoyed and like they dont want to be there. They always look like they are doing you a favor. Location on 84th and third ave knocks this one out of the box tenfold.

Damian at the Columbia University location not only snapped at me for complaining about the VERY sparse scoop of apples he put in my salad, but was screaming and yelling at all his coworkers the entire time I was in there (which was a long time as it was the lunch rush). He was condescending and belittling to every single employee in the store. Absolutely disgusting behavior. At most he should be fired, and at THE VERY LEAST he egregiously needs training on how to deal with both customers and fellow employees. Major yikes. I will not be returning anytime I see him inside, that s for sure.

I never thought tipping culture in this country to become more laughable. So after I got my food and got my card out to pay, I noticed that Sweetgreen has, quite literally, blocked out their No Tip option on the screen with a sticker simply reading Please use keypad . They also covered the bottom-left R button with the same sticker, which is the key (on the keypad lol) for the No Tip option. I thought this was just plain funny, but as I was deciding what to tip, the cashier (who probably thought I was going to press R) lunged over the cash register to try to tap one of the tip buttons, essentially trying to deceptively charge me more than what I wanted. I quickly realized this and hit the covered-up R button because that was just messed up of her. Seeing this, the cashier shook up my bowl out of spite and slammed it in front of me. She kept the lid on polite of her to mix my salad for me. Now I go here sometimes, but it s only been like 2-3 weeks since I last went what exactly has been happening that would yield this kind of action? Well, I got my answer tonight. It s no wonder Sweetgreen s becoming one of the less popular places in the neighborhood. But to play devil s advocate and I m no economist, but if these employees have taken such an extreme measure when it comes to TIPPING out of all things, are they even being paid livable wages??? Why are server s acting this erratically with what almost seems like desperation?? What is the manager there doing? I understand cutting costs, but if my hypothesis is true, that manager needs to rethink everything. That being said, food was still good and it seems everyone dining in is happy as always. But damn

Not sure what is happening to sweetgreen. Used to be a huge favorite of mine. Now the food doesn t look quite as good, service was sullen (never thought I would say that), and the place is just plain dirty. Tables, floor, seating, trash full with bowls half out, insufficient forks (I had to fish around a bunch of empty plastic wrapping (not sure from what) to find a fork.) The whole experience made me want to get out of there as fast as possible. Please, management, do something.

This is really about the quality of the customer service and me shouting out David. This past weekend I participated in a retreat around the area and left my wallet in the store. I hadnt noticed since I rushed home in an uber (mom of 2 under 2 life) and didnt really go out until Tuesday. David went ABOVE and BEYOND to find my contact info to get the wallet back to me so much as contacting my dentist since I had an appointment card there. David, I am so very grateful for you going above and beyond to make this one less thing I needed to worry about. Thank You for the humanity during these times (its rare nowadays). YOU ROCK! GIVE THIS GUY AND HIS TEAM A RAISE! Their food def was tasty and I will be a frequent customer going forward! :)

Value is continuing to deteriorate - the quantity of each ingredient that is used has gotten so sparse it is no longer possible to justify the cost vs the alternatives opening up.

Fresh salads at alright prices. A few seats only. Crowded at lunch time, so better to go early or late.

While they can make some delicious salads, their downfall is consistently poor attention to take out and delivery customers. Oftentimes you will order a specific item, and the store will run out of it. Rather than cancel the order, or offer a partial refund, this location has decided to simply deliver incomplete meals as a matter of policy. This has lead to some truly extraordinary salads being delivered, from an arugula salad with no arugula, to a bowl that was supposed to be seven ingredients, coming with chicken, sweet potato, cabbage, and no dressing. When sweetgreen is working, the food is good and almost worth the incredible price. but recently, I have received orders with missing items more than half the time, with no solution offered, and no change to the total of my charge.

I d avoid this place if you re epileptic. The lights flash on and off very rapidly and flicker almost constantly. It makes dining here very uncomfortable. The food is fine so no worries there but I feel like someone really needs to fix the lights. It s off putting, distracting, and as someone who works as an electrician professionally occasionally enough where you d need to put a strobe warning up. It s a little crazy???

I love foods here but I m so shocked that staff is not required to wear mask at all now and they are talking to each other. I though even before COVID. Went to pick up an order and it was absolute chaos. Workers were not distributing orders in a way that even remotely made sense. Waited over 45 minutes for an order and had to leave empty handed to go back to work. Absolutely unacceptable; never coming back to this location again.

Been here 10+ times over the span of a few years, Consistently takes >20 minutes to order when there are only 2-3 people in line. Always running out of ingredients. Never mixed well. Quinoa and rice typically stale. Apples typically old. Can t even order online because they ll just leave things out.

Welcome to the slowest service on planet earth. 30 people working in this place but it could take 10 minutes for someone to take my order even if I m the only one in line the food is good and the staff is usually friendly but it really does not feel like they prioritize the customer. Sometimes I feel like I m inconveniencing them just by being in the store.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I ordered a salad and it has been pending to wait for a driver. I understand that the orders may be high, so I was willing to cancel my order. I was not able to contact sweetgreen nor the courier that is assigned to my order. I want a full refund, not a stupid $5.00 credit. That s not enough of a credit in my opinion. It shouldn t be a hassle getting in contact with someone when there s an issue with an order. The numbers are bogus, they redirect you to an automated service where the only option to contact someone is via text.

The food is actually really good, in my opinion. On the pricier side for salad, but reasonable for New York City prices. Their ingredients tend to be fresh, the dressings are good, and I like the pre-designed salads. There are a very solid number of options for vegetarians. My main complaint is that when I order online (which I usually do), the portion size is very small. They fill about 50-75% of the bowl (youre rolling the dice), whereas if you go in-person you will get a nearly full bowl. Its still not that much food, so to have only ~60% of the bowl is a pretty small meal. Today I got a 50% full bowl, so Im pretty unhappy, but its way too annoying to go back. Im going to have to open the bowl and check to make sure its full when Im in Sweetgreen from now on. I recommend ordering in-person, though you do have to deal with the lines.

This has to be the worst sweetgreen ever. The place is dirty and loud. They are always out of ingredients. The food is mediocre at best.

I didnt like my experience. 1. They were very short staffed. Employees were nice. 2. Wait was LONG. 3. They are routinely missing ingredients and dont tell you soon enough. THE RUSTIC TOMATO HARVEST BOWL Ughhhh it s so bomb I m heartbroken that it s seasonal. I hope it ll become a regular someday the basil was a little off-putting because it was so pungent, but all the other ingredients were in delectable harmony. The goat cheese and tomatoes added a lovely tang with a bit of creaminess from the cheese, the seasoning on the blackened chicken tasted amazing and the chicken was juicy and not rubbery! You could feel the layers come apart in your mouth the way good chicken drumsticks tend to do. The almonds add a bit of crunch and nutty flavor, and the wild rice adds an interesting pop of texture to everything. I think the vinaigrette (I got light drizzle) is just the right sauce that sets the background for all the other ingredients (though this would be my personal opinion bc my palate is not too sensitive; it could be a but overpowering for some :D).

I always enjoy their bowls. I order using the app and pick up within 15 minutes. Very convenient and very tasty!

Terrible customer service experience and misleading menu at Sweetgreen. It should have been easy but it was anything but. I ordered online at 4:50PM for a 7:10PM delivery. I immediately noticed I made a mistake with my order and tried to change it but it was impossible despite having over 2 hours to make the change. Most restaurants would allow a change with this much notice. I couldn t get someone from Sweetgreen on the phone. Their SMS support said my number was blocked or a landline (weird). Finally, I was able to connect with a Sweetgreen employee over Instagram DM but their hands were tied. With two hours before the scheduled delivery, I wanted to edit the order or get a refund. Sweetgreen s best offer was a $10 credit It felt like Sweetgreen is more interested in defending limitations of their software backend more than care for customers. On top of everything, the food arrived late and because of a dietary restriction, I couldn t eat it. Sweetgreen took $28 from me for a meal I couldn t enjoy and should have been able to change. My request wasn t complicated. Sweetgreen should let customers cancel or edit scheduled orders within a certain time limit (like a normal restaurant would). If not, they should refund me completely.

This is the third time I have ordered from them and received salads with missing items. I will no longer be ordering from this place. I think they have some fake/paid 5 star reviews on here but I can still see some reviews where people had the same issues I had with them. Dont go here they are not reliable.

WOW this was absurd...the portions were insanely small. 3 pieces of broccoli?? Additionally the fish was probably like 3in wide...like peek at the little dressing container for size reference. Do not go to this location. Also you can only order online/through the app...I think because you cant see them assembling the food, they decided to be super scarce. This amount of food is not worth the $15 (pre-fees and tip) price tag.

I ordered here today for the first time since pandemic hit. I had two bad surprises. I got an email saying my food was ready, I went to pick it up, and it was not there. A nice guy working there explained to me that someone picked it up - they dont check. Great. They prepared another bowl for me, but it had literally half the amount of food I expected. Before pandemics, the bowl would be almost full. Now, they clearly downsized the quantity to an unacceptable amount. It feel more like an appetizer than a meal. Bad experience.

My chicken died while eating their salmon, I took them to my Garden in Munich and whilst I was swimming my chicken threw up their chicken and died. So overall a pleasant experience but adeiu JohnMichael the Second.

I visited this location today and I won t be back again. First I had to run back to my car to grab a mask, even though vaccinated because they stress safety. First the lettuce that was provided to me were the last scraps. When I arrived in for the second go round there were workers standing idle and with that being said they could ve been changing the lettuce so I didn t get the last of whatever was there. Fast forward I ordered a kale Caesar salad with tofu. My bowl wasn t even full to the full line. Upset. Then I had to ask multiple times for a second dressing. The thing that topped it off for me was that this was my first time at this location so I asked the cashier to point me in the direction of the bags. She pointed directly at the last bag on the counter. I would ve taken it if it hadn t been USED. When I went back and asked for a new bag she kindly walked me over and fluffed the used bag and said it wasn t used it had other bags inside it . WHICH MEANS IT WAS USED. In this Covid world we live in, and mask required store, I didn t want a bag that has been touched by customers all day, and if I ask for a bag give me just that. Anyway I left and I won t be back SweetGreen isn t so sweet.

The Columbia store makes significantly under-portioned orders compared to other NYC stores or stores in other states. The service was really unprofessional and some people working there had bad attitudes. It seems to become a norm that they always ran late for online orders, and sometimes event missed online orders. It happened to me three times consecutively when I arrived after my scheduled pick up time and didn t find my order. I had to wait for another 20 min for them to make the order on site then what s the point of ordering online in advance? Also, when they made your order onsite, they didn t inform you of missing ingredients or asked if you need a substitute. You didn t get the order you wanted but couldn t get a refund. I will never step into the Columbia store again.

Ordered a falafel salad....came with no falafel....they claim that they ran out of falafels. Why not reach out to the customer before sending out a plain green salad with no protein in it and charging $13? Then, you cannot communicate with anyone there on the phone unless you text. Too much of a hassle. Salads look great online, but service is not up to par.

Locavore-friendly counter-serve chain specializing in organic salads, soup & bowls - This description seems like a bad joke if youve ever been to the Columbia Location of sweetgreen in NYC (2937 Broadway). Here is what Ive experienced tonight. [The outcome was worse than usual, although the attitude I am describing on behalf of the sweetgreens staff is a constant here.] ...$12 gone, NO salad, and unacceptable customer service: I am usually a very tolerant person, have worked in many service jobs myself to finance my education, but what I experienced tonight at sweetgreen was so unacceptable that I question if the company (1) even knows who they are hiring or (2) just really does not care about its customer service. This evening (March 1, 2020, shortly after 10pm), I placed an online order ~ 45 minutes before the official closing time of the Columbia U branch of sweetgreen in New York City (11pm). Not only did I not receive my order when I arrived even before my official pickup time at 10:40pm, also did the staff yell at me to stay outside the moment I entered sweetgreen. This was half an hour before their official closing time. I used to eat at sweetgreen very frequently but the staff at this specific location has been so rude that I recently switched to pick-up orders to minimize my interaction with them. I also have multiple friends at Columbia who stopped eating from sweetgreen because the employees are acting, to say the least, seemingly very annoyed once they have to serve a customer. Not having prepared my order, which I had already paid for, the sweetgreen employees did not even apologize to me for the incident. When I questioned their closing half an hour before the official closing time, I was given the very unsatisfying answer that the opening hours are just at the door (?). I didnt know what to make of this statement even. At this time, there was nothing left behind the counter, they had already cleaned up everything, ready to close early to go home before the store officially closes. When I asked for a refund the employees just carelessly mumbled something about customer service. I said okay and decided to leave. I turned towards the door (the one with the fake opening hours apparently), and when I started to walk out the employee would hiss a very sarcastic good night at me. Unbelievable. Anyways, going to bed hungry after a long day of studying, I am really disappointed in such bad customer service and I will not continue to purchase salads from sweetgreen at this location. I reached out to sweetgreen because I request a full refund of my order, which I paid for and never received. Not to forget that I even walked all the way to sweetgreen and wasted my time. After reaching out via email, I immediately received an automated answer, which does not seem very promising to begin with: We are currently experiencing a high volume of messages and we hate to admit that we may be delayed in getting back to you. We really appreciate your patience as we work to respond to you as quickly as possible. At this point, I really do expect a trouble-free refund, which I deem the least to make up for how I was treated after having paid for a service and relied on my order. Overall, sweetgreen has a good product quality and I appreciate the option of eating healthy around campus. However, I am reluctant to recommend this specific sweetgreen location to anyone who appreciates being treated with respect and basic manners.

I love sweetgreen! Their harvest bowl is my favorite. I take out almonds and put walnuts instead. Their quality is very consistent. Usually pick up food and havent had a problem. A bit expensive but what salad place isnt I guess. Also nice you can request it to be mixed!

Enjoyed their Shroomami warm bowl. Hearty, healthy and filling. Friendly staff. They have good choices for vegetarians. The location we visited was close to Columbia University. Conveniently accessible for person in electric wheel chair.

My favorite thing in the world. I absolutely love their salads. I was introduced to Sweetgreen back in 2017 and it s quickly became my favorite thing to eat. Let s just say there was a point where I was eating it every single day, how could you not? Their salads are delicious, and they re using quality ingredients. It was impossible to not love it. This location is great, fast service. It s also the closest location to home which is unfortunate, because it s the closest one to Harlem, Hamilton Heights and Washington Heights area (they really need to open a few locations in Upper Manhattan). TRY THE HARVEST BOWL! So tasty and worth the price!

the food is pricy and the food proportion is so small. i got the chicken thigh bowl and the picture on the website is nothing like what they serve in real life. i literally got ripped off 17$ for a chicken thigh bowl when i can make 8 chicken thighs for 17$ at home.

Sweetgreen was the dinner we needed. After two days walking around Columbia, Morningside, and Central Park, over 20 miles on foot, and lots of not-so-healthy eating, we needed something a little more wholesome. So, sneakers back on, we hoofed the mile from our hotel in Harlem to the Broadway sweetgreen on the other side of Columbia, and split a standard Harvest Bowl, with kale, chicken, chopped nuts, roasted sweet potato, and rice, with balsamic dressing. Perfect! Simple, healthy, and inexpensive, and quick - what more could you want?

I ordered from the sweetgreen app. Ordered a chicken pesto parm- it was missing tomatoes and brocolli what did they take full price for? It looks half empty what a waste of my 14$!!

Placed an online order for a harvest bowl that arrived with no kale (key ingredient). Tried to call the store but they force you to text with customer service who cant put you in touch with the store also requiring customers to text you is crazy. Chatted with customer service who informed me that the location was out of kale. Ok, fine, call the customer to see if they want a substitution, dont just leave out a key ingredient. What a terrible way to do business.

Food was amazing and the employees were very friendly. Will definitely come back again.

Three notes: 1) Sweetgreen should hire more salad preppers during rush-hour. It shouldnt take a half hour for me to get a salad. 2) If you order a salad here, keep an eye out to make sure the salad is prepped properly and they dont accidently miss an ingredient. 3) If you order delivery, they dont toss the salad for you. I dont know why, but my delivery orders dont taste the same. Nevertheless, its a great spot. One salad will last me two meals. Extra bread is free so take advantage of that and grab another slice. Also, be nice to the workers! Some students are rude and pushy during rush-hour... but the workers are human beings who are just trying their best. My favorite thing to do is to take my salad to Morningside Park as a study break/ time killer to get some fresh air and sun. Its winter now, so I cant really do that, but I loved doing that during undergrad.

I have ordered here on several occassions - and when it finally gets to you- it is usually a well crafted salad - BUT - the delays in delivery - the last one being over 2 hours are frankly ridiculous. This is especially the case given they charge a $10 delivery fee ontop of the usual charges. I pray another company doing wholesome food moves into the area so I am never tempted again to fast for hours before getting to eat. If I could give a half star for this I would.
