1100 Davis Dr Unit 1B, Newmarket, ON L3Y 8W8, Canada
I recently visited this HK cafe, and I was blown away by the delicious flavors! The Hainanese chicken was incredibly tender and packed with taste, perfectly complemented by the fragrant rice and dipping sauces. The highlight of my meal was definitely the 红豆冰 (red bean dessert). It was a delightful blend of sweetness and texture, making it the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The ambiance of the cafe is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax with friends and family.
This place is amazing, the food is very delicious, price is very good, plus the quantity is huge. 3 lunches special is enough for 4 people. Service is very good as well. You might have to wait during peak time, but worth waiting.
To find an hk cafe with the great service in Newmarket, that is amazing. The same high volume quick paced environment you get from other hk cafe spots. The service was really good considering how quick things turn over. Food came quickly and the waitress was very friendly to my friend and I, making quick conversation and recommendations on what to eat. This is only a couple minutes from where I work, so def going to be coming here a bit for that hk cafe comfort food. Parking is available, but fairly tight on the side with the restaurant. Was able to get the last spot during dinner time on a Thursday evening, so that should tell you how quick the spots fill up. Great job overall
Visited this place 3 times already. We ordered 2 lunch combos; sweet & sour pork & beef noodle stir fry. Both combo came w lemon tea & ices coffee. Theb soup came in a cup rather bowl, very interesting but it definitely easier to drink! The food and drinks were delicious and the kids love them as well. We sat at the entrance once and it was great. Another time we were sat inside, it wasnt as good. The inside has so many flies everywhere and we have to keep waving them away from our dishes, 2 stars were deducted as it is quite unsanitary to have so many flies
This is a very popular place for food. We got there at 11:30 and noticed a lot of tables were already booked. We were a table of 4 and were seat promptly but when lunch time came, a lot of people started filling up the place. We order from the daily specials that include drinks and soup. Our drinks were the lemon iced tea and the yin yeung ice coffee. The soup was served in a mug. Convenient and easy to drink till you have to poke for the veggies at the bottom. Our main was the dry beef ho fun. Good portion and well seasoned. We also ordered the sweet and sour pork with rice. The rice tasted weird not as freash as it should be, kinda mushy. The meat was good; however the portion of meat to rice ratio was a bit off. There should be more meat with the amount if rice given. The sweet and sour had good flavour and good sauce.
Very happy to see another HK-style cafe in Newmarket-Aurora! We really enjoyed our visit — very generous portions at reasonable prices, and every meal came with a drink AND a soup. The egg sandwich was stuffed with an enormous portion of egg — it could've been a meal in and of itself. The kids even got a free mini Chupa Chup lollipop to end the meal. Will be visiting again! *EDIT: Visited again 2 months later. Still the best place to get the most bang for your buck!
I always wanted to have hainanese chicken. The google reviews got a lot of positive comments on this dish so we wanted to try. Reviews also said the service is not good but I found the service pretty good and the waitresses are very friendly and pleasant. We ordered half a hainanese chicken. The portion is big. The meat is soft and tasty. We love it. It came with the borscht soup - yummy yummy and a HK style coffee. We also ordered the Canton Chow Mein. It’s huge. Noodles are crispy and there are tons of squids, shrimps, black mushrooms, pork and Chinese greens. It’s delicious. We ordered the beef with flat noodles from the snack menu. It’s not small and it’s delicious. We will definitely return.
1st time here, but not my last!!! Loved it. We ordered 3 dishes but i was too excited and took 1 photo only. The staff were great, so nice and pleasant. I wanted to buy their scallion dipping sauce but they didn't sell it, but she brought me an extra serving of it to enjoy there. The Hainanese chicken was so delicious, the best one yet I've tried. It's very rare to find a place with great food and service, it's either one or the other. Their washrooms were nicely decorated and very clean ( also rare).
Great Hong Kong style restaurant, a rare find in New Market.
Great food and location.
I ve been to two pine houses but the service at this one is a lot nicer.
Maintaining consistent standards, good taste and good service. The portion of sweet and sour pork is slightly less. It is the best tea restaurant in Newmarket and Aurora. recommend!
Amazing food and service. Particularly love the egg sandwich and milk tea. I love it enough to drive there from Markham. Only wish the tables are larger as it s pretty tight.
Walking in with 2 adults and 1 toddler, they have 4 people table available but the waitress split the table into two, gives us small 2 people s table. I have to put my son on my lap all the time. Terrible service there!
Lunch specials are very good, particularly the Hainese Chicken Rice.
good food and service
Great food. Bizzy place at lunch.
One of the best HK Cafe in Newmarket, prices are reasonable and the milk tea is the richest I ve tasted in a lot of cafes.. love coming here.
nice Cantonese food. Hong Kong style. milk tea, not the best but not too bad Recommended: - chicken curry with rice - borscht soup
If you want legit HK style food in Newmarket/Aurora, this is the place to go! Very busy on the weekends Food
The chicken for the Hai Nan Chicken Rice dish is amazing! That is pretty much what I come here for!
Delicious and comforting food with generous portion sizes. Food is enjoyable here and it s nice that we won t have to trek down to Markham or Richmond for Hong Kong tea house food anymore!
The air conditioner kept blowing on our table. My tablemate forgot to make the food he ordered. It took a long time to prepare the food. I only had charcoal-roasted pork neck and omelette rice. I asked others who had tried them and they all said they were not delicious.
The red bean drink with ice cream was horrible giving us not even ice cream. They just gave us a piece of ice with milk poured onto it and claiming it was haagen dazs. The worst part was we ordered 3 and two of them where ice but the last one was actual ice cream making this place a 1 star in my opinion.
It s a great place to go if you crave Hong Kong style afternoon tea. I would like a thicker slice of butter for my pineapple bun but it s good enough.
Great HK style chinese food.
Awesome to have a local HK cafe! Very delicious!
Really nice taste of hainan chicken rice. Reasonable price and big portion. Highly recommend
A great hk style cafe with large portions tasty food at reasonable price. This is my regular go to place now
Yang Chow Fried Rice was tasty!
No nonsense cheap and delicious HK style eats. The portions are huge and its really bang for your buck, especially the sets they have.
Although the restaurant tastes okay, the waiters attitude is as if he owes him money. And he charged me 6.99 for a cup of soup. Are you crazy if you want to make money?
Good quick fix if you are looking for a change from a typical Chinese resto. Nice staff
Good good and nice people. Recommended.
Good food and service value.
Have been live in Aurora few years, this place is always a place to go with my kid when we don t want cook
What more can you ask for in Newmarket as a Cantonese? its overall great.
Very good service, the waiting service is very orderly, and the food is delicious. I am very happy that there is an authentic Hong Kong-style tea restaurant in the community where I live. I will come here often in the future.
What a great restaurant. I had a chicken curry which was delicious and my husband had a chicken cutlet on curry rice, which was also excellent and HUGE! So we have lunch for tomorrow too now. The server was lovely, the restaurant was cute and the food was very nice and great value. We will definitely be going back.
Last night after playing badminton , I went to Pine house cafe with my friends. It was truly happy with excellent service from the charming waitresses. food was generous and delicious. It was such a delightful dinner, and I must give them a five-star review. Ill definitely bring my family there in the future.
Very delicious Hai Nan Chicken Rice, attentive service and cozy setting. The restaurant is a bit small but looking forward to going again.
I dont understand why it cant be 0 hearts. I ordered 4 items and none of them were of good taste or quality. 1. Chicken wings and fries, the chicken wings are grilled and the fries are all soft! 2. Fried rice with salted fish and chicken pieces, dry and fragrant but tasteless! 3. I guess the store owner has a misunderstanding about hometown fried rice? Are you fried rice noodles with soy sauce? Go to the nearby store to eat hometown fried rice? Where is your hometown? 4. Beef stir-fried udon, soy sauce tastes bitter?
Good food choices and reasonable prices
Portions are large, easily worth the money. Service is friendly. They charge you for container if you wanna take the rest home. Sometimes if its busy and you are just 1 or 2 people they might seat you beside other people.. but overall worth the visit for some hong kong style dishes
Ordered online and was pleasantly surprised. Their Russian borscht was delicious and my daughter lives the spaghetti and meat sauce.
A lot of the food is great, beyond the average tea restaurant, well worth a try
Good Place
Love the Hai Nan Chicken Rice. Good service and fast!
Ordered the hainan chicken, pineapple bun with butter and milk tea cold. I went a couple days ago and am craving that pineapple bun and milk tea. Will definitely go again.
Simply delicious HK style food!
A good and quiet place to have supper on the last day of 2022. Food was as tasty and as HK style as you could have in Canada. Plus there was no line up at all.
your usual hong kong cafe, nothing interesting but nothing bad as well.
Decent HK-style restaurant for the Newmarket area I would recommend the baked pork chop with tomato sauce on rice. Again, not the best I ve had but good and authentic HK set dinners for the location.
Excellent value for the price point, service and food quality and quantity. Dont expect fine dining. Very satisfied for a quick lunch between errands.
What a gem with their breakfast, food quality is top notch, worth every penny. I recommend steak and eggs, Hong Kong style milk tea, you won t regret it.
Great place to eat... Food and service is very good. Highly recommended.
Bawang Huali Soup, I haven t had it for many years, so I m a little excited~
Their lunch combo is really good and the food portion is huuge! Friendly customer service for first timers and will love to come back!
It s great to see more Asian restaurants opening on Newmarket. Pine House is a must visit if you re ever craving for some classic HK food, or even Asian food in general! It was very spacious inside with ample seats, however on the weekends, you may find that you d have to wait a bit for a table (usually not too long). The servers are surprisingly pleasant overall, and were polite with their service. We got their lunch special combos which came with a drink (available before 3pm). The dishes taste fantastic, I loved the ginger scallion oil chicken with rice and would recommend anyone to get this! Only complaint I had was really the drinks, they were just average (we both ordered Coffee with Tea). Usually I don t have much expections for these, but they tasted pretty flavorless which was a little disappointing. IG: Ayenomz
Happy to have afternoon tea here. Prices are alright and food portion is decent
Big servings
Consistent food with great service. Longer operating hours would be great.
Authentic HK style cafe. Good and service are good.
Stir-Fried Beef Rice Noodles Satay Beef Vermicelli and Egg & Ham Sandwich + Checking out this Cha Chaan Teng (Hong Kong Cafe, ) at North of Toronto in Newmarket. There are some items we would order to see it s authenticity. Stir-Fried Beef Rice Noodles is one of them. This must be a popular dish here as almost half of the customers ordered it. It s not a surprise as it was stir fried perfectly, not too oily, the noodles not too thick and the beef with great texture, also was well seasoned. I love getting all day combo at cha chaan teng. Satay Beef Vermicelli is my favourite. This one wasn t the best I had, but still tasty. The combo of it with the egg & ham sandwich is the best! The combination of the fluffy HK style bread with the super thick silky scrambled egg is so delicious and satisfying. Service was great with friendly servers.
Food is the typical cafe food, their lunch combo is 13.99 for a drink, a soup, and a main. Got the milk tea and borscht, both were amazing. Main was okay. Service was alright, except they seated us right by the door and it was very drafty and cold from people coming and entering. Asked to be placed more inside but there werent any open seats, and when some opened up they seated someone else there before we could move. It was too much of a hassle after the drinks got to our table, so we spent the entire time cold. At least there are a lot of warm drinks options with the hot tea + hot milk tea + hot soup My friend ordered a pork chop and there was a 5min difference between when we were given our mains. She spent those 5 min salivating at my dish.
Hong Kong style cafe. Great menu item and flavor is fabulous. Bake spaghetti (Hong Kong style) is definitely recommended
It s about time we have an HK style CCT in Newmarket. Beef ho fun noodles 5 out of 5!
Pine house cafe serves Hong Kong style food. I often ordered their meat sauce & cheese baked rice( very similar to spaghetti dish but with steamed rice or fried rice instead) and their Singapore vermicelli . The price is very good with a big portion. They always have an option of Russian soup (tomato based with veggie and meat) or Chinese soup (of various kinds) the soup and drink is included in the combo served between 11:00am-3:00pm, I can tell it tastes like ethentic Hong Kong food because I am from Hong Kong myself. We are also big fans of the Hong Kong special drink ( half coffee half milk tea) The Lemon tea and the Lemon honey and water and milk tea are good too. The restaurant can get crowded during lunch and dinner time. Their washrooms are always clean. The Staff are friendly. There is 10% off for cash take out. Would totally recommend it. Parking: You can always find parking in the plaza Kid-friendliness: Change table in one of the washroom Wheelchair accessibility: Both washrooms have a handlebar and are big enough for a wheelchair to get in.
Good food and big portions. Great value.
Friendly service and food is up to standard.
Good food and good service with great value
Our family always comes here. Decent food, good service
I was there during Easter weekend with family, the restaurant was half full when we got there later afternoon. Food is decent, temperature , flavor , price all there. If you looking for a place eat regularly, I would recommend Pine House Newmarket.
Came today for a first visit. Best thing Newmarket has to offer!!
Not many good Hong Kong styled cafes in newmarket, so I m glad this is around. Food is yummy. Reasonable amount of time of service.
Small HK style cafe at Newmarket. Cost effective w their all day special menu $10.99 w a hot tea / coffee. Good service. Food served hot & fast.
Big portion n many variety choices. Friendly staffs n great prices. Take out box is 25 cents each.
Stood there at the front and no one came to serve/seat me. Place wasnt busy. Bad service
Happy to have found this HK cafe in Newmarket. We enjoyed the lunch combos of Chicken and Ham with Cream sauce on Spaghetti, and Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. Satisfied my craving for HK milk tea. Tasty, hearty portions, with efficient service. It was busy on a weekend lunch time, however our wait wasnt too long. Will return.
Turn over and waiting to is way too long. Staffs there are not even managing the customers expectation of wait time
Best hidden secret in Newmarket. Everything is the best.
Nice little hidden gem in Newmarket.
The staffs are friendly and the atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The portion of the food are big and their food was yummy. I love their milk tea.
Good to have a HK style cafe without having to drive south (ie to Highway 7). Located at Leslie & Davis, this cafe is full of patrons right at noon - on a weekday. The menu is your typical HK cafe items with breakfast and lunch combos. You ll get a drink, soup and an entree. I chose their signature dish (Hai Nan chicken rice), this was as expected. Comfort food. Don t expect spectacular sit down service, but you get your food pretty quick.
Very well priced, amazing portions and flavors. Great option for HK style cafe food.
Home-made food experience
Nice to have a HK style cafe in Newmarket, I live in Oak Ridges so I prefer to travel north for day to day eats. The restaurant is bright and spacious but it s rather loud even only at 40% capacity. It s the echo of people speaking and the loud music that bothers me. Food is pretty good, however I do not recommend the satay beef vermicelli. It is on the sweet side (unlike traditional satay beef vermicelli s) I ve had at many other HK style restaurants. I do recommend the Hainan style chicken rice, Portuguese chicken on rice, egg sandwiches, Singapore vermicelli and their spaghetti bolognese though. Service is okay, I mean they do their job. It would be nice if the wait staff smiled more and is more warm and friendly to non regulars though. Because of our proximity and the food quality, it is worth coming back for me.
Ive been there several times, and the chefs food tastes good, but the waiters attitude is generally not very enthusiastic every time. The store environment is okay, but it feels a bit uncomfortable to charge for take-out boxes.
food portion is good, reasonable price lots of real Hong Kong food choices Food : 5/5
A fairly good tea restaurant in the same district.
I ordered All-day Regular Meal B today, which consists of Russian style beet soup and omelette with ham. The chef is very gracious in providing ham. The omelette is thin but juicy. This demonstrates a nice skill in cooking. My wife ordered a Hainan style chicken with rice. Appreciate the crispy chicken skin. The rice is also of good quality. Very tasty. The Hong Kong style milk tea is smooth and silky, betraying a good and balanced formula and timing. Super welcome this new entree in Newmarket!
Website says open until 9pm - arrived at 8pm and was told the kitchen was already closed. Very disappointing experience.
The service at this place was quite slow and required us to make multiple calls to the waitresses before we got menus and had our orders taken. Moreover the food was lukewarm and the beef brisket I got was extremely dry. It was not cooked fresh and you can tell by the pictures. I would not recommend this place.
Great food, even better prices!! In todays high cost society, its good to know you could still get quality food and service without breaking the bank !! Definitely a must try if youre ever in Newmarket.
I have absolutely no words about the lack of service here. We came here in a group of 8. They insisted that we squeeze into a row of 3 single tables that normally sit 6. Even though we had 3 children, they still take up a full spot and it was impossible to sit comfortably. I had my 2 year old sitting on my lap. They never gave us the drinks we ordered until AFTER we had asked for the bill because they completely forgot about them. Not only did they not apologize for forgetting the drinks, the server screamed at us and said DO YOU WANT THE DRINKS IN THE TO GO CUPS OR NOT? The amount of disrespect and absolutely zero service are beyond ridiculous. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. The servers are beyond rude and lack common sense.
I had my lunch at around 1:00 on a normal Tuesday. The restaurant was not full and its quite comfortable and not noisy. I ordered a Shanghai fried noodle and its yummy indeed. The borscht and HK styled milk tea are also great.
Great little Asian restaurant. I believe that the name will be changing in the near future. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly.
Cosy,friendly-:)).
None star deserved, one of the serve is very rude, and food here not fresh, not recommended!
Great spot for Hong Kong style cafe food. Servers were very nice and fast. We went with a large group of 9 and they seated us quickly when they opened. Food was tasty and were huge portions. Many of us had to grab a take out box. It got busy quickly around lunch so go early.
Service is horrible.
If you remember that old Kai Tak airport and craving that HK comfort food which takes you back to pre-handover good ol days? This place will do that with every bite. Highly recommended for solo or family, this is the taste of HK you remember. ^_^V Kid-friendliness: Kids approved!
Got takeout from this place, the service was friendly and fast. The price was decent, but when I picked up my order my order was missing items even though I repeated my order back twice and the lady on the phone repeated back to me again. So Im not impressed with it but will give it another try.
First time to order here in the weekend - I got beef ho fan and it was so good! Thank you.
Wow!!! HK Style cafe in Newmarket. No need to drive to Markham or Richmond Hill anymore.
Milk tea, coffee, food service
Friendly staff, good portion for the price, yummy Hk style food
Great lunch specials. Friendly staff who speaks Cantonese and the food is very good. Will return for sure.
Love the food.
Food is good. Authentic Hong Kongnese fast food restaurant.
Absolute five-star quantity and great taste online
First time visit this Cafe, this is hong kong style Cafe serving Hong Kong style curry, baked pork chop, Hainamniese chicken rice....I ordered Curry chicken rice today, the chicken pieces are deep-fried with curry sauce. I personally feel this is a bit dry, but the curry taste okay, do not expect a large sauce with it. I will come back to try others. Lunch set with soup and drinks, even passed the lunch hours, the meal set still come with the soup. The Russian soup is good, taste good & thick with adequate ingredients, this is the Authentic HKG old style soup, I love it.
OK food, OK prices.
Nice to have a hk cafe nearby! Good food and service.
Rude.
Everyone complained of the incredibly long wait - people even walked out. Waitress with glasses got the order wrong and blamed us for it. Food was tasteless when we got it because they ran out of seasoning that s ridiculous. Countless people walked out of the restaurant.
I ordered via uber twice and both time were cancelled at the last minute. I basically waited 1.5 hours before i was told the order was cancelled and i kept track of it very often. Whoever is running this business has no regards to your customer at all. I ordered delivery is because we did not cook our meal. If you cancel the last minute and i already waited over an hour for it then you are basically ruining my dinner. All i am saying is if you do not have the capacity to do my order then just cancel right away instead of leave me hanging. Take note of this please, its very inconsiderate. Unfortunately i wont be ordering here again, thanks for showing me what it means as a failure. so long
Very rude service & Significant wait times. The wait times were very long for the dishes we ordered. So long that a bunch of people just got up and left. Then, they got our order wrong and told us that we ordered something we didnt. Wasnt a pleasant experience.
Good foods. Very tasty.
Hong Kong style service (which means bad). But the food was in great potion. Taste was above average.
Reasonable prices, great taste, good portion. Love their super thick egg sandwich. Repeat customer here for sure!
Got the fried rice and it is the most bland fried rice I ve ever had. I don t think any salt or seasoning were used and the shrimp is plain and boiled. The soup and ice tea are good though
Good place to eat Hong Kong Style food.
Nice southern chinese style food, recommended. Actual food they served is way better than it looks on the Google photos, they should replace some of the photos on their menu.
Its okay. For a cha chaan teng out of Markham area its decent. Clean and spacious interior. Good service. Multiple locations. I was annoyed with all the flies though. Soup came in a mug, kind of cute. Lots of ingredients, tastes good. Hainanese chicken rice Unfortunately came with bones and I snapped on a few small bone pieces too, not too pleasant with my rice. Rice could use more chicken oil fragrance. Stir-fried beef hor fun Not very tasteful but good that its not super oily. Beef was decent quality. Could use more green onion. Generous portion for food plates. Failed. Ying-yang (milk tea/ coffee) Its ok.
Good price
Really enjoyed my macaroni soup and sandwich! Borscht was super flavourful Hit the spot!
Its rare to find a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant in Newmarket. The quality of the food is good and the portions are generous. The price of regular meals is unbeatable but it doesnt affect the portion size (maybe Im a careful eater). I will continue to help.
Reasonable price and dishes taste good
Is a over average HK style restaurant with nice people there! It would be better if they close at 10pm instead of 8pm.
Simply old fashion HK style amazing yummy food. Must try pork neck rice, liquid egg custard, curry beef brisket rice
Dined in with a group of four- had some rice and chow mein dish. Vegetables cooked nicely with the crispy-ness. Flavour was good, not overly salty. The snacks section is wasn t as great but can get past that if they execute delicious main dishes. Prices were also fair considering other places are significantly higher. Service was as expected. They checked in and was not overly annoying. They always knew when we needed something so they were aware.
Food and price are both good. The only problem is the speed. They are slow when it comes to food delivery so I wouldnt go if I was. In a hurry
Delicious meals are yummy. I would go there again.
Authentic Hong Kong style mandarin duck baked rice, fried rice base + spaghetti base
This places hk milktea is the best in York region I swear! and no I am not related to owners or friends. I keep going back there even If Im just in Markham. To me they should be the Kamcha King. Their food also better quality than many Im glad now I have somewhere more than decent to get hk food fix 10 minutes from my house!
Terrible in everything
I tried the curry chicken on rice, the sauce is great but the chicken pieces were too dry up
Extremely rude service. Never answer their calls and when they do, they are extremely rude. Tried to order one thing they said they were sold out since this morning so we asked what other options there is their answer is we have nothing. Guess they dont really want any business. Was trying to help local restaurant but never again with them. Here again a year later and still terrible. Over 1hr 12min getting your food. Server extremely rude.
The lunch menu options are good. Price is very reasonable with soup and tea. However, the wait was super long. I ordered take out and was told 20 mins. When I got there I had to wait another 20 mins. Waitress kept asking me what Im here for and what my order was and was told it will be here soon. The wait was just a disaster. Another time I was there, I ordered soup noodles and my parents ordered some rice dishes from the lunch menu. Their food came, they finished eating and my noodle soup didnt even arrive. When it came, the noodles were all soaked up and soggy. Their other food dishes were good like the fried rice and spaghetti.
Pro: Better chef and service here than at the Markham/Scarborough location (the waitresses have too much attitude at times... seriously) with the added bonus of being actually use a debit card here. Who knew technology was a solution!? (sarcasm) Con: Limited seating but not a deal breaker, just be prepared to wait if you have a larger party or during peak times. Parking: Plenty of spots in the mall to choose Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level access
The rating is purely for the 2 afternoon tea combo we got today. This is a HK style cafe so I don t expect too much from the food quality as long as the price are reasonable. Well, for the afternoon tea, they are good value. Today I ordered the corn beef with egg sandwich and also a fried rice noodle ( ), both are afternoon tea combo. Each dish come with a drink (Hong Kong style milk tea), and no extra charge for cold drinks I believe and 10% off for paying cash. So The total cost for these two combo are $16 something I forgot the amount in the cents both of the items are good in terms of quantity ( check out the photos) and also quality are not bad for this price! The sandwich is nice and thick and soft with runny egg and the rice noodle has lots of ingredient, I think there are like 6 pieces of shrimps in the dish for this price, I am not complaining!!
Tasty Hong Kong style food for a good price !
Food is great and is very reasonably priced. Service is very good as well! Ordered the baked chicken with Portuguese sauce on rice, satay beef with vermicelli noodle soup and egg sandwich combo, beef brisket noodle soup. Highly recommended!
Good food and good staff
Above average HK diner food - highly recommend!
The dining room is too small and easily filled up. The food and service are acceptable but not outstanding.
Pretty good! Although the hot lemon tea was suspected that they add an unsafe element into the tea. The rest was okay except for the time, they said that the food would be ready in around 20 minutes, but it took about 50 minutes! Way too long!
Not many cha chan tang in Newmarket so Im surprised it took me so long to come to this spot! It definitely surpassed my expectations and now I know I do not need to go to Markham just for a quick HK cafe meal! I found the service to be above and beyond, especially for a Chinese resto! I dont need all the extra check ins and other shenanigans. As long as youre relatively civil and bring me the right food, Im good with it. I found them to be very kind and even moved us to a table away from the door in case we got cold once they cleaned up one of their tables near the inside. The meals were very reasonably priced and the portions were huge! I got the curry chicken rice and it served as two meals for me. The flavours were sooo good and I got a delicious soup and a lemon tea to go with it - all for 12.99 lunch special. They have all the regular HK cafe meals so theres something for everyone. Left with a full stomach and I am definitely coming back!
hard to eat
