Moxies Newmarket Restaurant in Newmarket

My husband and I have been dining since 2019 and over the years we have notice a difference in quality but the service is still great. I want to show you a picture of 2019 compared to 2024. I notice the portion has become smaller and the quality of the steak is not the same. The vegetables have poor taste and overall not what they used to be.

Everything was incredible! From the Roasted whipped feta, to the ribeye. Chef Trevor made the experience one my daughter will never forget. If I could give 6 stars I would

Had a wonderful experience here for a friendly get together with old friends. The food was great all around and the service was top notch!

Went here yesterday and one of the waitresses named Shae, was super disrespectful and kept rolling her eyes as if me and my friends did something wrong to her, she seemed like she was forced to be working there the entire time. The food was good though and overall good atmosphere, only the service was really horrible.

*** Update November 2024 *** Moxies has some new menu items, and while we didnt try them, they never disappoint. Service was excellent, great atmosphere and food is delicious. *** Previous Review *** Just had the greatest experience at Moxies in Newmarket. Our server, Mich, was excellent. She really made the difference in our experience. Weve been here before and have never received this level of service. She must have checked on us over a half dozen times before our food was ready. Super thoughtful too, she knew the kitchen was slower so she brought some fries to tide the kids over before their meals were ready. To top it all off she made it a point to serve our kids their dessert in a really cool way, with dry ice, which hasnt been done for us before and weve been here at least a handful of times. Food was on point, service from Mich was phenomenal. If we could guarantee we get Mich again, wed definitely be going back!

Overall everything was good but I do not recommend baby back ribs. Sauce and some parts are burnt too much.

Beginning was really nice, hostess was accommodating, inquired if we were celebrating anything in particular, very friendly and professional. Our server was nice and friendly too, but forgettable because we barely ever saw her. It took a while to get to our table, we ordered food, she didnt ask if we wanted drinks. We only saw her at the end of eating our appetizer to finally get drinks. We saw the hostess floating around and a food runner or another server, but never our server. We shared a salad to start and had the shrimp tacos each and a cocktail each. Food was super tasty and fresh and packed with flavour. Would definitely recommend. Cocktails were good. Flagged the hostess down for our bill, as, again, our server was nowhere to be found. Would come again for everything else. I just wish service was consistent.

I was there last night and it was our first time, with my family in this restaurant, food was great , atmosphere was nice, even there was an issue about misunderstanding one of our orders after we received our food , they try to fix it so fast and manager and waitress apologized about that and even gave us promo code , they were super nice and manager came a few times to our table to say sorry, my point is even with a mistake they made our night nice , it is so important , I give them five star , totally recommended and we will go again.

We ve been to Moxies at other locations, but this one truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, the hosts and servers went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The beef vindaloo was fantastic, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Drinks were served quickly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. We couldn t have been more impressed and will definitely be back. Highly recommend this location!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed all of our dishes at this resteraunt. I personally ordered the nachos as an appatizer and their signature rigatoni dish and I finished both of the dishes completely. We also ordered the black and chicken burger and the cheese burger which were both also completely finished. The atmosphere outside here was extremely calm and quiet with all of the staff being extremely accommodating. Thank you, I will definitely be recommending this place and coming back another time.

Lindsey and another person who answered the phone were unprofessional and rude. In a 30-second call, I asked about a salmon dish and had a few extra questions. She abruptly says go check our menu online and call back. No patience, no care for customers, no desire to go above and beyond. Just this cold whatever attitude. I guess her paycheck is guaranteed regardless of whether it comes or not, so she could be careless. Then comes Lindsey, her friend or fake supervisor, justifying her lack of people skills. So disappointed People really missed the importance of BEING KIND AND THOUGHTFUL

What a great place for a catch up session with the girls! They accommodated us on a busy Saturday evening and even made sure We were taken care of when we requested a corner booth for more privacy. The laughs were rolling, the drinks were great and the food was so fresh and delicious! Definitely try the summer salad before it leaves the menu. The staff were so amazing, we stayed so long and they struck the perfect balance of being around when we needed anything to leaving us alone to have a great catch up session! This was my first visit to any Moxie s and this awesome experience is going to make sure I return again!

A small group of us visited the restaurant and one of our colleagues had a couple specific dietary needs. The team at Moxies accommodated the needs and were cheerful in doing so. The person with the dietary needs was able to enjoy their meal and felt fine afterwards. We also had a couple of other requests which were cheerfully accommodated. It was a lovely lunch with good food. Thank you Moxies!

This was my first time at a Moxies, but certainly not the last. The cocktails were good, the food was EXCELLENT, and the service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean, the music was good, and finding parking was easy. I was with a group of 6, including two vegetarians and everyone had a great time. Vegetarian options: A section of the menu was dedicated to vegetarian options, and it was more than veggie burgers!!

Update For the ruined anniversary and failed proposal ( failed because we never got to desert as planned ) they sent 50$ gift card.. Food is awesome, and one of the many reasons why I choose to celebrate our anniversary at this place BUT service ..... we had nice dinner and I still had my drink when waiter offered desert While we were looking at the dessert menu waiter mentioned that dessert that we wanted is out of for the moment. So while we were discussing other options surprisingly waiter brought the bill I was shocked and felt awkward to ask for dessert. We paid the bill and since I had still my drinks and actually wasnt planning to leave, we sat for about 25-30 minutes more and waiter never bothered to pick up the dishes or ask if we want another drink. Left the place feeling unwelcome and ruined anniversary. Never would recommend this place. It s hard to get servers attention and once you pay the bill and they are tipped it s even impossible

Excellent place to visit for a special occasion. Meals are chef inspired creations that you dont see every day. If you are going to be open for lunch, you should have some less expensive options.

I had a lovely experience dining at this location! I have always been a fan of moxies and their menu but what set this place apart from other moxies locations was the phenomenal service, Ashley was an amazing server who paid great attention to my family, she ensured our dining experience was great, super sweet and lovely girl would absolutely come again hopefully to be served by her!

We had a reservation for a birthday celebration in this place today. The food and ambience are nice except the service. Its the service that is really disappointing since she was very rude. We did not even get her name, but shes the server with the tattoo on her back with a long hair. She got our order and all, but as we are all eating, its obvious that she is rushing us. We try to understand it and let it pass, until to the point that she got very rude. So some of my relatives are still eating, and she is already asking if we already want to pack our food or get boxes for the food. Thats when my mom says that we are still eating, and then the rude server pointed to my sister and told my mom that I am not talking to you, I am talking to her. What an attitude. If the server is reading this, I hope that your parents or relatives do not get disrespected like what you did to us. Instead of us enjoying the day, its already ruined by this behaviour of the server. Mind you, its a Sunday and its not very busy there, only few people are in there. Maybe that is the reason why it is empty. Rude server. Another funny thing is that, the only time she became really friendly is when we are about to pay the bill. She does not deserve any tip at all, but we still gave her a reasonable tip in case she is having a bad day like her behaviour towards us. We will never come back at this location anymore. Please go to another location if you are planning to come here. Also, the accessible parking is far from the actual entrance. NOT RECOMMENDED.

We have been to this location multiple times. Food is quite good here. The servers are always friendly. The ambiance is always great - it is on the quieter end compared to other locations but we enjoy it.

Yet another birthday ruined here. We waited and requested many times for half an hour for ordinary steak dinner after appetizer is done, place is not busy at all. After i asked bill for the appetizer the food was up in 30 sec. Then the waitress kept checking back for nothing when we just want to finish in peace. We gave an ok tip but here is a pro tip, 2 scoops of ice cream worth a thousand sorry. We did not bother to mention the birthday thing as fast. Short low cut skirt but no hospitality.

The few times I was there with my friends, we had a great time, the service was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and the taste of the food was good.

Wow, what a cute cozy place popped in to get dinner ordered myself. A medium rare stick sirloin 8 ounce unfortunately came out. In my opinion. A little on the medium side meat was a little tough however, it tasted delicious. I ate the whole thing asked if I wanted another one I chose-to eat it anyway, because it took quite a while for them to prepare the steak. I did note that the hostess the young blonde girl was not attentive or friendly when I said thank you as she sat me at a booth. She just walked away. I would definitely recommend for any management staff in the world if you have a host or hostess to ensure that the personality Matches the atmosphere you re wanting so I would give the hostess a three the food for even though it was overcooked for my request it tasted delicious. Oh, and the dessert was divine Parking: Parking is a bit tight right in front of this establishment. You do have to hike a little bit. If you park at the adjacent parking lot it s all free though.

Came here roughly a month ago. To say the least I was very disappointed and will not be coming back. From the moment we had walked in we felt unwelcomed by the staff. I attended with a large party of friends, roughly between 6-8 girls. Our waitress came over shortly and was very kind at the start but progressively over the evening she began to be very unattentive.(We weren t even able to get refills on our waters, or add on to our meals). I understand in hospitality having multiple tables and being busy however even other staff had seemed to ignore us. The topper of the evening had been when we were billing out, we had asked to all pay separately however as we were doing so a friend and I had witnessed our server look at a fellow colleague and roll her eyes while lip speaking. I understand that there is this misconception and stereotype surrounding teenagers and not tipping but we all found this incredibly rude and disrespectful. As myself and several of the girls are in this industry and would never treat our customers in this manner.

Amazing calamari - great service

I booked dinner for my husbands Birthday last night and mentioned its his birthday when I booked. We ordered Tuna bowl and Alfredo chicken, pasta was good but tuna bowl wasnt fresh and smelled so we couldnt eat, I wanted a hot sauce but couldnt find any server for 10 min so I went to find someone ,although the restaurant wasnt crowded at all because It was in week days I shockingly saw all servers are sitting behind the wall resting. At the end no one even noticed that we booked there for a birthday so it ruined the birthday night.Im so disappointed...

We stopped in last night on our way home from the ball game. We enjoyed the food and the service was great. I love the 1/2 price bottles of wine on Wednesdays also.

Honestly : came here on a first date was super blown away by the interior of restaurant absolutely breath taking. However we sat down and decided to go with the 5$ mimosa special. The waitress came, was kind. However we said more than likely we re just grabbing drinks no food. So we order one each. We re waiting at least 10 minutes for these drinks. Mind you it s a slow Sunday. Him and I both see the drinks sitting at the bar. For over 10 minutes. It s uncomfortably long, we tried flagging down server. She was no where to be seen one minute she went to a different table. Felt like she just avoided the table because all we were ordering was drinks. However alcoholic drinks. Finally came by we eventually ordered another set almost the same length of time. She laughed at the end and kinda a smug apology didn t seem like she cared when we said you know respectfully we been waiting a little bit because him and I were talking about it because it was uncomfortable how long it took. She must of heard us talking.upsetting because from 630- 10pm. It took to get 4 mimosas and never came back once to the table other than to drop Drinks off. I m not one to write reviews but this left a poor taste in my mouth and my dates for this place. As we have both worked in industry and like I said drinks were just sitting at the bar. And just felt avoided by the server at all costs because all we wanted was drinks but she never checked in. Feeling super bummed because we would have ordered more drinks and perhaps food if it didn t take that long to get 4 drinks out and was a slow Sunday evening. Barely anyone inside the establishment. Felt like we were avoided, just little upset but whole ordeal as the drinks just sat in the Lounge part and felt like the other table she had was getting their order in a more swifter manner. Maybe we should have gone else where..also. Forgot to mention we had BOOKED a reservation for our first time out as a couple. So it would be special just feeling let down by this entire experience. To be honest your better to spend money else where for more attentiveness. I understand business but there was no one there barely maybe 4 other tables in the lounge area at time we were sat.

We had a late lunch at the Newmarket Moxies following a family funeral. Andrea was our server and she was AMAZING!! There was not one thing wrong with our order. She came back to check on us at the perfect times. All of the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay and visit with each other for over 3 hours! It made our family s day brighter.

Took my wife and my kid out to dinner for my wifes bday cost 110 after tax but the food was fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere was cozy and comfy!

This was my first time visiting and as Ive eaten at many other chain type restaurants, I wasnt expecting anything really out of the ordinary. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, our server, Liz was extremely friendly and attentive. She made some great suggestions for appetizers and main courses based on the fact that I hadnt been there before. She returned to the table often to check on our level of satisfaction and to make sure our drinks were kept full. Honestly some of the best service Ive ever received. I had the potstickers and absolutely loved the sauce on them. I make my own fettuccine alfredo and decided to try their chicken alfredo and again I was very surprised by the perfect doneness of the noodles and the sauce, which is very tasty with a reasonable amount of chicken. Id certainly go back if the opportunity presented itself.

Steak is also very good with the mushrooms sauce Calamari is a must Best drink they have is the MOXIES MULE The roasted tomatoes and feta cheese wasnt 10/10 but it was still very very good just personal preference. The brownie is so so amazing Overall Everything is always fresh People who work there are never rude or look like they dont want to be there. Very esthetically pleasing atmosphere

We found it very annoying while trying to catch up with friends when our conversation was interrupted 7 times by 3 different ladies asking if all was okay or if we needed anything. That is overkill.

We went out for dinner tonight at this location. We had wonderful service from Aidan, he was absolutely fantastic! The food was great as well. We will definitely be back and hope Aidan is our server again!

Moxies is always a great time! This location is definitely more mellow than other locations which is nice for an intimate dining experience. Food is amazing & staff are very attentive. Thank you to Tesa for taking care of us yesterday. They also were able to accommodate for walnut allergy & manager made sure she brought the food herself. 10/10 experience. Pasta was dry. Asked for more sauce and the container was hot but not the sauce. For the prices Moxies should hire more experienced kitchen staff. Servers need to be better trained. Not worth it. I am not going back.

Ordered medium rare stake, but my stake was well done. The manager placed a second order to make sure it would be medium rare, and apologized. Then, she did not include the stake fee in the bill. The manager and staff were welcoming and friendly. I had a great experience. Definitely recommended.

I tried their mushroom sirloin. The meat tastes moist. However, its complementary smash potato is ok. The place has great designs and is well cleaned. Overall, the experience is great

Great place in terms of everything. Server was lovely and on point. Had a little mishap tale place and the manager came over personally and took care of it. I am a fan of white glove customer service and this team was on the ball. Definitely will be returning

Our waiter was Nigel who was very gracious and fun. Met our needs perfectly. Food was excellent as always.

Was looking forward to eating here on my date night with my wife. There is no seating to accomodate for larger people I was very embarrassed that I could not fit in their booths where the tables are bolted down without hitting my hernia. Had to go elsewhere.

Danielle C is the worst server we have ever had. We had to go find our own utensils. We had to search to find pepper. We left our table to go to the bar to get our own drinks. When she finally came back to our table, she brought the wrong drinks and laughed. Left them on the table and walked away? After we ate we sat and waited for 20 mins for her to come back, she did not. Again we walked up to the bar and asked for our bill. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

We have been to moxies several times across the gta but this location is set apart. First time here ,we double checked to make sure it was indeed Moxies the customer service was 5 star great food and atmosphere. Will definitely recommend

Terrible. They must have new management as we usually have a great experience. 4 adults all has terrible meals. Our server was miserable and MIA after we ordered. The manager came around and insulted our child. The high chair was absolutely filthy. We wont be returning anytime soon.

Great place for dinner, excellent staff!

Food was ok. It was pretty slow for a Sunday afternoon. Came in around noon and there were maybe 2 other tables in the dining room and maybe 3 in the lounge/bar area. Pretty disappointed with the French Dip I ordered. Pretzel bun tasted stale and like it was 2-3 days old. Meat was not good. The only thing i liked about my meal were the salty fries. Took a long time to get served as well. Everyone on staff were super friendly but idk service was too slow for my liking. And they never refilled our water pitcher. Wouldnt come back to this location again.
