Ordered from here recently. The copious amt of MSG was awful. I have issues with MSG and an hour after eating all the signs were present in my body and my mouth.
4 Seasons has been around a long time. Was generally the go to for most Newmarket people but it changes owners, a lot it would seem and every time it does, you get a different meal. So what was good, not good anymore. As stated on other reviews, chicken balls have noticeably smaller bits of chicken in them and way too much dough. I assume this is the first place one can skimp. Cantonese Chow Mein ordered. Normally full of beef and chicken and pork. Almost no pork and very little beef. So 4 Seasons, you may be saving some money but you will lose customers in the process. There is now dozens of alternatives, you would do well to not upset you base clients. Like me. I will not be back, no point when so many choices....
Big portions, food was pretty good. Didn’t like the sweet and sour shrimp, it was like 80% batter. Will Be back though to try other dishes
Used to be good. Garbage now. Just ordered from 4 seasons. Nothing has any flavour. $11 dollar chicken balls are under cooked and cho mein drowning in water. Live within walking distance and will never order from them again.
It's been fine for me as a Friday night after work dinner plan now and then. I've tried numerous of dishes. No complaints
The woman behind the counter was very curt (they were busy). We got extra spicy Shanghai noodles. They were not spicy at all. Very bland, and too much fish sauce. The black pepper beef was kind of gross. Had like a breading on the beef, slimy, lacking the black pepper flavour. The lemon chicken wasn’t bad. And the spring roll was pretty good. Nothing authentic Chinese about this food.
Ordered for my son on Christmas eve on the suggestion of someone from the area (I live in Toronto) and it was extremely busy but the food was great and the portions were huge. I'll definitely be back. Friendly staff as well. Great place.
Stay away if u want "decent" chinese food. The sweet sour pork was covered in soggy thick flour batter and tasted neither sweet nor sour - just loads of red food colouring. Cold cooked to order food was not acceptable at all - u can tell the pork was precooked and they just mixed in premade red sauce yucks! Tbh u can get better food from the the asian stalls at the mall's food court or even precooked food at T&T supermarket! Trust me on this one.
Best Chinese food in Newmarket and likely best fried rice in the GTA
Amazing food ,The best place in town.
Delicious and ungodly portion sizes
5 years ago it was Ten out of ten! Fabulous Chinese food, it was the only place for my family. Did they change owners? It has gone downhill. Several times now, the plain fried rice has tasted burnt, and items were missing from our order. Today was no exception. We ordered lemon chicken and they forgot the lemon sauce, the hot and sour soups were only broth, and the plain fried rice tasted burnt. So disappointed, we may need to look for another place.
I got the cantonese chow mein and it came with a staple for a little extra kick i guess. Joke of a restaurant.
The Best Chinese food in the GTA
Wheelchair accessibility: None, there are 2 steps to enter the shop. Food
Almonds could have tasted better Food good. Huge portions. Good for Family Great value. Food : 4/5 |
Been going for 30 plus years the best in town
First ever going there for take out and it was by far the best Asian food we have ever had!!! Not to close to it but I will drive there again. Food
Always sooo good.
Always quick and friendly service. Have been going here for over 20 years and will continue to do so. Best around in my opinion.
4 Seasons Restaurant Newmarket is the best Chinese food. Never disappointed, always delicious flavor , always consistent, always fresh. No comparison
I grew up on this place and still eat it whenever I can. I have introduced my friends to the spot and they love it too. Everything is amazing and its way cheaper than the mandarin to feed a large group. This is the real deal, make you feel good when you eat it food. Just order and youll see what Im talking about.
Truly some of the best Chinese food outside of Toronto!
Best Chinese food in Newmarket.
I love this place and have been coming to 4 Seasons for years
Atrocious! I am well versed in both North American Chinese food and the more traditional styles of Cantonese food of my heritage. I am not too snobby to eat Canadian Chinese food. But this was simply not good- Shanghai noodles too peppery, lemon chicken overcooked and the batter greasy, the cha siu (bbq pork) was frankly tear inducing. The sweet and sour pork ribs were also greasy and chewy. Do not order!
Food is always fresh and delicious. Ive been eating here for years and everything is on point.
Been coming over for 20 years and it s still amazing
Its the original in town and none other compare. Ive been eating from this establishment since the 90s.
Great food, great price!
Great food every time and insanely fast delivery! Our go to spot from now on!
The food was ready, hot with good portions. Generous portions of meat in all dishes.
Beat chinese food in york region...been going here since opened in the 70s..hands down my favourite
Worst customer service ever, oder at own risk! Vegetarian options: none Food : 1/5 |
Good food fast service
This may be harsh but we didn t get our fortune cookies
I heard a lot of good things from my friends of this joint so I decided to give it a try and order the dinner for 4. I have to admit that it s not what I expected. I m afraid not in a good way. The spring rolls are soggy, the breaded shrimp is mostly dough, fried rice is mediocre at best, the egg rolls are good and really like that the chicken balls are not real doughy at all in fact they were quite delicious. The chicken guy ding is mostly celery with no more then a few pieces of carrots and onions. The beef chop suey I found is very watery to a point that very close to half of this particular dish is full of water/broth. The meat portions on all of the dishes (Besides the shrimp) is good. Otherwise, there is room for improvement.
Meal is always hot and ready on time when picking up. The price is also right, especially right now in the world of inflation.
Its a take out only place. I tried this place several times, tasted different meals. The food is always good. The service is fast. Highly recommended this place. Food
They have the best chinese food around.
4 Season hands down best Chinese food Ive had Im years. Consistently amazing! No one compares. Parking: Not alot of parking. But its there
The best Chinese food around! We have moved from Newmarket but still make sure to get food from there to take home whenever we can. Love their egg rolls and wonton soup and a whole bunch more of their dishes. Would highly recommend them!
Delicious and fast delivery service..
Have been going to this restaurant for 28 years ever since we moved up from Toronto. That was where my original favorite chinese food restaurant of 20 years changed owners and was so bad it closed shortly after. Up until then, these two restaurants had one thing in common that they were famous for, the best fresh made jumbo breaded shrimp in their respective cities. Now 4 Seasons has decided to cut corners and use some disgusting frozen breaded shrimp with scrawny shrimp surrounded by a terrible thick doughy batter. The reason I know this is because a third chinese restaurant in another city who used to have the same great fresh made jumbo breaded shrimp also decided to cut corners and get their breaded shrimp from a supplier. It is the same disgusting scrawny shrimp in the same disgusting thick doughy batter. When you make the jumbo breaded shrimp fresh you can control the size of the shrimp and the thickness of the batter. When you give up your integrity and cut corners and buy it from a supplier you offer a substandard low quality product. Other reviewers I have read pointed out the same disgusting change in the breaded shrimp. Even more disgusting, given the size of the scrawny shrimp they still have the nerve to describe it as jumbo breaded shrimp which of course has been wrong all along because using a breading is different than using a batter. And of course to cut corners it is not just the shrimp, I think they have switched al battered items from fresh to supplied products. Needless to say I will never use this restaurant again.
the BEST in Newmarket! Been ordering here for years!!!!
I am okay with some price increases. I am not okay with not cleaning the shrimp properly before cooking them. The shrimp should be deveined as a cleaning procedure, but you didn t. Can t order again until you do.
We drove from north bay 2.5hrs to get the best Chinese food....period!!..got home and it was still warm..lol...great food!!!
Great prices, great portions, friendly service = delicious takeout Chinese. Never disappointed, consistently good eats from Four Seasons!
This restaurant has been the very best Chinese food restaurant since I was a kid growing up in newmarket many years ago. Ive moved all over this great country in my adulthood and ended up back in this town and have never had a restaurant come close to the value and quality offered by 4 seasons. The ingredients are fresh and the price is beyond fair. 5 stars well earned indeed!
The best there is!Hands down!
Fast service great quality food.
Our favourite Chinese food in Newmarket.
Love this place. Theyre always cooking up delicious here
The food was amazing sooo good!
Great food. Professional staff. Would not go anywhere else.
The worst Chinese food I have ever had .The food was not fresh it was just warmed up left overs. The sweet and sour for was the worst dried up shoe leather covered in terrible sauce. Egg rolls were so wet and soggy with ends dried up you couldnt eat. The rice was the worst tasting I cant even find the words to describe it. NEVER GOING BACK Hongkong kitchen is much better. Going to try a few more places.
Amazing food, great portions. Dinner fr 3 feeds 6 people.
Asked for pork fried rice got uncooked chicken fried rice with pork slices on the side and paid extra for it. Food was not very good I would reccomend spending your money elsewhere. Unfortunately you cannot rate this place with less than 1 star which is all I would rate this place. Terrible Terrible Terrible
If I could rate 0 stars I would. The food is absolute garbage. The service is brutal to top off. Save yourself the trouble, and order from a different Chinese restaurant.
Fair prices for the quantity of food. Everything had flavour.
Yummy ! Been in buisness for a long time for good reason . Great food fast service !
The food is amazing. Very good service opens at 4 call ahead to save waiting for lineup. Ordered dinner for 4 was full of flavour and tastes fresh. Not greasy or oily. A definite go to when I m the area.
always reliable, and consistent with their flavors and portions, my go to place for Chinese take out absolutely fantastic food a wonderful variety and quality, very polite staff and prompt with your order. I recommend eating here as the is something for everyone to enjoy.
An institution in Newmarket. Delicious!
Noodleriffic. Awesome sauce. Mixed veggies so good even kids will eat them.
The chicken balls have to much batter
Food is always good and hot when it arrives. Best Chinese food!
Our go-to place for western-style Chinese food. We tried other places before finding this little gem 17 years ago, and have been faithful customers ever since. Their egg rolls are just like what my father-in-law used to make (in HIS Chinese food restaurant), and every time I have one, they bring back such happy memories. And their deep fried chicken wings are my husband s favorite! Vegetarian options: Our friend is vegetarian are there are plenty of options available for her.
Fried wonton and chicken balls are so good!!!
Consistently good food served hot and priced well. Takeout only so ignore reviews mentioning waiters and ambience. North American style but done well.
Amazing food, friendly staff great place for take out
If you know you know. Best Chinese take out (non traditional) next to going to Scarborough. Recommended 10/10
Reasonably priced hot food, great deep fried chicken wings.
Fantastic
The Best chinese take out in newmarket!
Food is good, portions are good and so is the price.
Tonite I picked up an order (dinner for three plus) and it was the best Chinese food I have had in Newmarket. Everything was fresh and hot and delicious. It was our anniversary and it really did help us celebrate well. Thank you Four Seasons.
Always Great food never disappoints.
Fantastic food and well priced
Was at one time the best in quality and value.Changes have happened.
Very Good!
Excellent
Great food!
First time tonight. Chicken fried rice was the best Ive ever had. The sweet and sour pork and the wontons were amazing. Great job!
Tried to order food, but they refused service because we work in emerg at the local hospital. We didnt ask them to come in and bring us the food, someone would have met outside. A little hard to have someone pick up the food during a 12 hour shift. I want to give them ZERO stars, but the app wont allow it #healthccareherosnomore
Best Chinese food around
Always an excellent Chinese meal from 4 Seasons. We keep on coming back time after time. Great value.
Excellent food and great service!
Just had my birthday dinner from 4 seasons and it did not dissapoint!
The go to spot for Chinese takeout in Newmarket.
Lady at the counter helpful and friendly. Food average.
4 Seasons is classic Newmarket. An institution. The 4 Season Special Lo Mein is fantastic but they do everything well. I love their lemon sauce for the Lemon Chicken. The battered meats are extra battered and delicious slathered in the amazing sauces.
Did a take out order for the Vancouver style spare ribs. Ribs we juicy and hot; flavors were on point. Just thought it was a little on the expensive side but I will surely come back to try more dishes.
Still the best Chinese in Newmarket
Best food I had in a long time
Favorite place
Always good food. Unfortunately, it opens at 4 and recently had to go elsewhere. But I totally get it.
Great place to get Chinese food in downtown Newmarket Main Street. A small place but the food is quite good. The hours arent the best but the food makes up for it. Definitely check it out if youre in the Newmarket area. This is a Take Out only place.
Not the greatest food I ever had..I wouldnt order there again, the sweet & sour pork is tasteless, the dish had no other ingredients except pork and a tasteless red colored sauce they just poured over. The Sze Chuan beef was too watery and not spicy enough to my taste.
Have been going here since we moved to Newmarket in 1984, place hasnt changed and neither has the quality of the food! So good!!
Unfortunately this place has gone down hill. The food I ordered was extremely salty and sweet and almost inedible. The service is also awkward unfriendly.
Good value for money
Good spot if youre feeling unauthentic Chinese food.
Good food & good prices a winner both ways
Best Chinese food in Newmarket.
Always good
My typical go-to when ordering Chinese. Prices are fair and wait time for pick-up or delivery is reasonable. The only drawback for me is that they do not accept debit transactions in a largely cashless society.
Been coming here for decades. Best Chinese ever!!!!
Ordered the family for 6 dinner for the first time, and the food was awful, we braught all of it back and got a full refund. Never will get food from there again. Tasted like left over food
Always solid food. A great spot right on main!
well
Wow, great food at a great price. Can t ask for much more. Son loves the pork fried rice and wings and I love the Singapore noodles!
Excellent food everytime I come here from New Brunswick this is my first stop
Good service good food
Its good
I have purchased much food here, I had nothing but good things to say thank you
Awesome food.
Great Chinese food best Vancouver spare ribs ever had could eat them every day .
Eaten here for the past 30 years, but today was the first time I noticed a 3 inch long black hair in the middle of the rice. My kids stopped eating immediately.
Over priced, though the food was decent until I found a dead mosquito in my Shanghai noodles...... havent ordered since.
Simply the Best Chinese food in Newmarket area, recommend, Shanghai Noodles, Broccoli and Beef, Chicken fried Rice, Lemon Chicken, Chicken Balls. Excellent portions always leftovers.
First time I ordered from this horrible place, taste like food already cooked 2 days ago. They just add source to the sweet and sour pork and serve it to me. I never go back.
Always good food and service.
They have very good food. Prices are good. I would recommend.
Best Chinese food
My favourite Chinese food restaurant, only complaint, they need sit down.
My favorite Chinese, loved it for 50yrs!
Pricey but heat shrimp in lobster sauce. 4 season noodles are good portion too.
Best wong tong soup ever
Always fast delivery, tasty food and great service...i order to my work place frequently!
First last and only time I will ever order from this place. The lemon chicken tasted like fish.
Excellent
Best Chinese for miles.
Youd think on Fortune Cookie Day that I would at least get one
If you want some inauthentic bad Chinese food, this is the place.
Four Seasons offers American style Chinese food take-out at reasonable prices. Menu seems to range from lunch combos like sweet and sour chicken balls with fried rice and egg rolls to large enconomy size offerings like dinner for four.
We walked into the store to buy some food and waited as it was prepared. This was close to closing time so the cleaning of the kitchen was underway. The kitchen door was left propped open giving full view of the kitchen from the front waiting room. We were shocked to sneakers of employees on the food preparation counter , while brooms and dirty mops passed by. Additionally we witnessed plastic preparation trays come out of the dishwasher, fall to the dirty floor and then be put up on the shelf with the rest of the cleaned dishes . We brought both these incidents to the staff and they didn t seem phased by it. We got home and throughout our $45.00 meal and won t ever go back. Place is filthy
Good food and fast hot.
My go to for years...great food!
Amazing food!
Best Chinese food around - we moved and still drive almost 50km to get this - its that good
Fastest delivery in town! The food is always ready and piping hot, and its been my favourite Chinese food restaurant for the past decade! I -love- the Four Season Special Lo-Mein, and it tastes amazing even heated up the day after!
Their chicken wings are really good!
I order from this restaurant all the time and there food was amazing! I can honestly state that I recently ordered again and it was very disappointing. I ordered a beef with broccoli and it had no flavour tasted as it was all boiled and then had some broth all the way on the bottom of the container.. Cantonese chow mein just made me sick after eating it... also the vegetables that were placed on it tasted as if it was old. I wont be ordering from here ever again.
I order from there all the time food is delicious & the best in Newmarket! I love their chicken wings & lemon chicken
Me and my lady friend went for a nice meal. We got the gym sock egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken cartilage, Szechuan leather with black peppers (actually just green peppers) and made sure to get an extra side of chicken flavoured batter balls which were possibly made of deep fried glass and silly putty. A fantastic deal at almost $50. Afterwards we both had a good laugh over how bad it was.
Very disappointing. Save your hard earned money for somewhere else. Nothing was satisfying, was either cold and limp (as opposed to hot and crispy), or tasted old and flavourless - not to mention bones and potentially a piece of plastic at one point. A few bites in and we deeply regretted our choice. I dont like leaving bad reviews but this had to be said.
Good food at a decent price
Really good food
Second time ordering. Big delivery order for 5 hungry people. Asked for a couple of vegetarian dishes. Agreed one would be Singapore noodles. Order came in good time but the vegetarian Singapore noodle dish had shrimp and pork in it. Called right away and she said we got the correct dish and that they COULD have made it vegetarian if we asked for it. What?! They refused to replace it and the vegetarian lost out. No fortune cookies either :( Poor customer service; will not order from them again.
Great for takeout. Dont trust the 15m when their busy ;)
Friendly staff with great tasting food at an affordable price. They also offer delivery at good rates.
Love their Chinese!
Our first time ordering from here having recently moved to Newmarket. Unfortunately, we wont order again. While the fried rice and chop Suey were fine, the chicken balls (we substituted the spare ribs) were massive, uncooked dough balls. They were completely inedible. The service was pleasant but the delivery did take close to an hour on a Thursday at 6. Normally, we finish everything on our plates when we order from another place in Aurora, but sad to say, we did not enjoy our food from here at all.
Fantastic food at great prices!
Good food. Quick service. Reasonable prices. Good value.
Great takeout Chinese food. Been going here for 15 years. Never has disappointed me
Have loved this place forever. Best Chinese in town
Very good ...best in town
If you are expecting real Chinese food, this will disappoint. If you want Canadian Chinese food, its excellent. The prices are very good and except for the Cantonese chow mein, which has raw noodles that arent fried, the dishes are very tasty and come with good portion sizes.
Great food añd friend y
Chicken Chow Mein had no Mein (Noodles)! It was pieces of chicken with bean sprouts.. nothing else. If on the menu it said Chicken with Bean Sprouts - that would have been okay. But it is false advertising when you put CHOW MEIN. No fried noodles were included. The front end cashier was friendly and the food was mediocre as far as Chinese food goes. In my opinion, it is a place for people who are not knowledgeable in Asian food get a taste of salty and soy sauce flavoured cuisine.
