This is a rating on the behaviour of the manager. He was overly aggressive with my three year old putting his hand on my child's hand when my kid was touching the chop stick holder. That is unacceptable on many levels. You don't touch a child's hand to stop him from doing something , instead you should tell the mother. Secondly, when I was speaking to the gentleman who was taking my order, my kid reached for the soya sauce. The manager LIRERALLY walked SO fast towards the table like he was in a panic h6while I was having a conversation and took away the soya sauce. This time I did speak up and stood up for my kid who didn't even so anything wrong at that point. I said its not necessary for you to be so aggressive towards a child . He began giving me excuses how he didn't want the soya sauce to spill on any of my things That's an obvious lie. He was worried about the presentation and possible spill on the carpet. Don't tell me you are worried about my things or my son please. So literally lying to my face. We felt very unwelcome. The only nice person was the woman who was serving us and have us our drinks and gave the bill. The manager needs training in better customer service for people with kids. Very shocked and a bit disturbed about the experience
We recently dined at Cynthia’s Chinese Restaurant in Newmarket and had a great experience. The standout dish was definitely the Lemon Chicken—it was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of tangy and savory flavors. The service was excellent, with attentive staff making sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. As for the Fried Rice, it was good, but not my favorite. It was flavorful and well-cooked, but I’ve had other versions that were a bit more to my taste. Overall, though, the meal was solid, and the Lemon Chicken alone is worth a visit.
Had a birthday celebration with my family at Cynthia’s and may I say the service was INCREDIBLE! The food was very delicious and had amazing presentation! I recommend! Definitely one of the best fine dining Asian restaurants in Newmarket.
The service was quite good, and the sizes of the dishes were generous. The interior decoration is luxurious. The restaurant has a private dining room. The location is good too.
A lovely fine dining experience. The server seated us and unfolded the napkins and placed on our thighs. Came around the table and politely asked if we were going to use the Chop sticks and then removed them from the cover and placed them neatly next to the plate. Food was good. Loved the Crispy OK tofu and the diced vegetables with ginger and egg whites rice. There was live music and he was really good as well. They bring you warm towels at the end of the meal. A very nice experience. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Excellent service! Calm and comfortable atmosphere with very nice servers specially ( Alissa the assistant manager and fanny). The food was also very good one of the best All you can eat restaurants we have been to between its competitors. Definitely recommend :)
When you stumble upon a delicious gem… All Ketong, my server, had to say were these three words… “We have lobster”. Tell tale signs for the perfect shrimp wonton soup: Consumé is clear and flavourful Wonton wrappers are delicate and thin Contents of wonton (shrimp) is fresh and seasoned perfectly where the shrimp is still the star of the first act. Contents of wonton are tightly wrapped Scallions are still crisp with a burst of flavour (they were literally just chopped before sprinkled onto your soup) The lobster flavour I chose today was the combination of ginger, garlic and green onion. Next time the garlic and black bean! It was incredibly fresh and I love that the edges of the lobster 🦞 meat were gently crisped. The chef chopped the pieces into easy to eat! The House Fried Rice was pretty good. The Baby Bok Choy was to die for! The sauce was kept light but that wok toasted minced garlic!!! Yum!!! It’s safe to say, I’ll see this place again! Ketong has worked here for 17 years and his service was warm and impeccable. He didn’t miss a beat. High end and worth every dollar spent. Can't wait to try the Peking Duck next week! Tony, the host at reception and possibly the owner was lovely too.
When you are looking for a high end Chinese dining experience you'll find it here! The decor on the inside is properly appointed and has the perfect balance of class and style without going overboard. The service was fast, friendly and they catered to our every need. The food was great including the Perking duck we shared, egg rolls, dumplings, and noodles. Over all it was a pleasant experience that you will need to pay for but definitely worth it!
ordered take out and food was terrible both quality and taste
My fav Chinese restaurant in the GTA. Hands down the cutest decor.
Thank you Patrick
Great Place to Eat. Enjoyed the Food. Patrick Great Guy. Really Enjoyed the Service
Have been looking for a new Chinese take out place. Ordered, chicken balls, lemon chicken, Lo mein, black pepper beef, beef and broccoli, wonton soup, egg rolls. The people were nice. Ordering simple. Got home and the there was an ok volume of food. However overall the food wasnt great. Black pepper beef was bland and not really spicy. The chicken balls were really hard. But the chicken was decent. The lemon chicken wasnt great. The broccoli was the best part of the beef and broccoli. To be clear. It wasnt bad. But it wasnt great either. I suppose I am still on the look for a take out spot.
Loved the experience Parking: Great Food : 5/5 |
Great food, service and a great spot for a party!!
This is the only place I would go for eat in Chinese food. Great presentation really good Peking Duck. Upscale dishes, nice place to take someone from out of town for the experience. Very clean and keep up the Good work! Will be back 100%
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and it will undoubtedly be my last. Although the food was satisfactory, the staff was exceptionally rude to us regarding tips. We paid by debit card and intended to leave a cash tip, but the waitress did not wait for that. As soon as she noticed there were no tips, she tossed the receipt at us. This made me feel upset, and I decided not to leave a tip. As we were leaving the restaurant, we were confronted by another server who made a comment, saying, So no tips today? I have never experienced such disrespect before.
Ambiance is a nice change. Service and Food is amazing! Lots of authentic dished. Recommend the peking duck.
First time back in a few years because of moving out of town. Table for 6, and all dishes were dropped at the table and not individually served like in the past. The hot towels came to the table after the first course had been served. The hostess was downright rude rushing us to pay the bill even after being asked give us a few minutes. Just stood there waiting and staring us down. We wanted to eliminate the tip completely, but felt bad for the 2 waiters even though they pretty much just dropped everything off and ran. Cynthias has never been cheap, but the food was always worth the price. No longer, now that we got the bums rush out of there. So disappointed.
I recently visited cyntias and had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. The restaurant was filthy, The overall hygiene was severely lacking, making me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly rude. From the moment we walked in, they acted as if our presence was an inconvenience. They were unhelpful, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in providing any level of decent service. What truly shocked me, however, was the overt racism displayed by the staff. Their behavior and comments towards customers of different ethnicities were appalling and unacceptable. Its disgraceful and deeply concerning that such attitudes are tolerated and expressed in a public establishment. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid this place at all costs if you value cleanliness, good service, and basic human decency.
This is the best food coma I have ever had Patrick was awsome Food
Food is mediocre and overpriced. We got the Shanghai noodle and for $22 you d think the portion would be bigger. The taste was average, something you can get at any Chinese food court joint. We also got the spicy fried tofu but it wasn t spicy at all I think they translated it weird, was salty flavour. The staff were all dressed up in traditional Chinese outfits which was kind of weird since I ve never seen that before, and the waiter kept trying to upsell us by asking if we wanted vegetarian spring rolls, and clarifying a couple times that all we want is tap water and not a drink Honestly I just want good food for a good price, not all these theatrics, they tried way to hard to make this fine dining . Left hungry and needed to make another meal at home.
We have ordered from Cynthia many times before, however today their food was below par and we were very disappointed with the quality the flavour and the price we paid for it.
Nice place with decent food.
By far the best Chinese food in Newmarket and Aurora area
Went here for fun. Wanted to have a new experience, But me and my family of 4 got kicked out for eating to much Severe opps in the radius pancakes were rock hard eggs pure water bacon white and soft terrible service but Cheetos were to liking. Oh Cheetos please more Cheetos I loved the Cheetos!!!!!!!!!
Terrific service and good food. The decor, the costumes, and the background music, combined to create a great atmosphere. Very well done. We will definitely be back. UPDATE: Enjoyed dinner with the family tonight. Food and service were excellent as expected. The ladies serving were cheerful and helpful. The gentlemen serving were testy and brusque. Unfortunate and hopefully not typical.
Good atmosphere, Tasty but small portion Peking Duck. They requested extra charge for letus.
Best Chinese in Newmarket, not cheap but worth it.
Excellent service and food tasted great. Staff was super helpful and attentive to our group and did a great job serving our group.
Amazing Food
$75 for two dishes, 2 egg rolls (egg rolls barely edible) and 1 Ginger ale.Server never asked how was our dinner.Cantonese chow mein had 1 shrimp , noodles dry & hard ($27) chicken in szechuan sauce ($22) lots of onion and cheap chicken. Nobody minds paying for quality but the quality is not there and they DONT care.
Really great experience, the customer service was amazing! Will definitely come back!
the food is very good but the time is decent and the people are very nice
The peking duck was absolutely delish. So many options lemon honey chicken. Hot and sour soups came in a cute little bowl Parking: Its in a plaza so lots of unpaid patking available Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcomed. Lots of food options for them
Terrible customer service, I ve been here time and time again since I was in high school and they never fail to express arrogance, the workers have the most rude and condescending attitude. I once did not finish all the food and I felt bad for wasting so I asked to pack it and even offered to pay extra, the server agreed and then immediately grabbed the plate, turned around and threw it in the trash my group and I were speechless, while she just looked at us with a stank face. Honestly the management here isn t any better either, it s just their culture of work, not to mention the racism towards coloured people.
The front end staff were rude. The food is subpar, in fact Mr. Dumpling is way better. The General Tao chicken was dry and chewy, it was almost like some leftovers that had been reheated. It also lacked any other ingredients, like peppers or pineapple. The BBQ Pork fried rice was passable, the vegetable lo mein was passable buy lacked any flavour. Overall, if this is the take out experience, I would not waste my time or money eating in.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I felt like I was in a rush hour film, I loved the atmosphere. The servers all seemed kind and genuinely happy, laughing at jokes, helping solve a complaint from a member from my party, they rang their gong with the Peking chicken and gave us a salute as we left. Furthermore, when we realised we had ordered a bit much, the waiter quickly took the food and packed it up nicely. The food was out of this world. The Peking duck easily has become my favourite food from this restaurant alone. The soups came in these beautiful gold coated things which opened up to reveal soup. The hot and sour soup was a good amount of spicy and a good amount of tofu and other ingredients. The spring rolls were juicy, and the samosas were too. The lo mein was nice, and the Shanghai noodles were too. Unfortunately, I did not have the room to try the pineapple chicken rice, or lemon chicken, but other members of my party had told me it was absolutely delicious. Furthermore, the portions were huge and awesome value.
Went to the all you can eat section, cold food, small portions, was overcharged by staff, don t need to go again.
Waitress was Rude and looked at us mean. They didn t treat us respectful.
From the moment I walked in, the staff at Shirleys greeted me with genuine warmth and hospitality. The attention to detail and customer care were evident throughout the entire dining experience. The waitstaff was not only friendly but also exceptionally attentive, ensuring that my needs were met without being intrusive.
Bit pricey, but the food and atmosphere is amazing
Absolutely a bussin place. Food is amazing fr fr
Proper American Chinese food! Quality immaculate
A bit much upselling with too much extra service but food is good and reasonable price.
Awesome service. Robots serving food trays. Delicious food. Great choices. Must come back.
You should visit to appreciate. During basic take out treated like a royal person. Very authentic and tasty!
It very very good the food
Hands down, the best Chinese fine dining experience that Ive ever had. Servers were friendly and attentive, food came fast and was well made!
Amazing food, the taste is unbelievable! Fine Chinese dining at its best, the stuff is very attentive and friendly. Definitely would recommend!
Seafood not fresh at all
My family celebrated my dad s 70th birthday at Cynthia s Chinese Restaurant and everything was perfect! I highly recommend Cynthia s for any special event. The food was amazing (fresh, plentiful and delicious) with beautiful presentation and the staff was wonderful, attentive and fun. Thank you for a great party!!!
Very nice experience :)
My wife and I were hoping for a good bit of Chinese food. Unfortunately, we didnt get that experience. We live about 3 minutes away, so we picked up our food and brought it home. The person who took our order was really nice, but that was the end of any positive experience. The noodles were, well, sad. I would have preferred to have boiled up my own ramen noodles for flavor and consistency. My pork should have been called tofu. No flavour and chewy. My wifes Shanghai noodles were lack luster to be kind, and the chicken that came with her noodles was rubbery and flavourless. 2 stars for the polite customer service, but down hill from there.
The worst food ever.
Atmosphere is unique and very enjoyable. Food is outstanding with very generous portions. Staff super friendly. I little more pricey then average but worth every penny for a great night out.
Makes my taste buds water just thinking about Cynthias. Rate it 100% great.
This was the first time in years since we visited. The menu has changed but amazing We had a table for six We all ordered one dish and had to take some home. Vegetarian options: Has gluten free Parking: Plaza parking Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp and handicap spots
Absolute rubbish food!! This place should close in public interest!!!
Amazing food as always! Best quality Chinese food around
I don t know what happened to this place, but lately it s been terrible. The quality of food is absolutely awful & the prices are way too high for it. I d understand the price if they had quality fish, nice sized dishes and fresh food but it s all the opposite. I wish I was warned that they decreased the quality as much as they did. Worst money ever spent. Such a shame.
Its never good when you eat at a restaurant and the next day decide you should fast for 24 hours. But here we are. The food is solidly meh. The ingredients seem slightly higher quality than mall food court Chinese food, but its the same greasy fare and nowhere near the quality demanded by their prices. They asked if we were good using chopsticks, but then ignored our answer and gave us forks anyway. The atmosphere makes everything worse. The staff are wearing costumes that range from silly to mildly offensive. There is a woman wearing an elaborate ethic costume that leaves us wondering if that is her actual ethnicity and unfortunately reminds us of how the Han treat other ethnicities in China. Imagine if you went to a Canadian restaurant in China and found a person wearing a indigenous feather headdress... Youd have questions. It felt like that.
Good food and excellent customer service by Ketong and Manager Tony. I had tomato and egg.
Thank you for the delicious soup, Pleasant service The place is gorgeous, I was pleasantly impressed I recall, the portions are not large, but the prices are affordable Food : 5/5
The service was excellent, and the food was amazing. People were very friendly and made sure we had great experience . Will definitely go back to this place
Always my staple for over 15 years ... Awesome food!!! Food
The restaurant is visually pleasing with old school decorating charm. However, the food is okay and overpriced. Parking: Parking is available in open spaces in the plaza.
We are here for lunch. Very nice atmosphere and decorations. Service are friendly and attentive. Food is ok for AYCE. Food : 4/5 |
We had Cynthia s Chinese food for the first time last night. I must say it was expensive! So you would expect that for the price it would be delicious! But . We were all disappointed with the meal. The noodle dish we had was not good. The noodles were burnt and it was slimy!! The orange chicken and the other dishes we had were ok . Everyone kept saying they ve had better Chinese food in Newmarket
Food was spoiled, manager tony I believe was rude. His attitude was disgusting!
Love the food. Only thing I didnt care for was they dont put anything inside their deep fried wontons which was suprizing usually they have pork in them or something very bland just fried won ton wrappers
Good restaurants, good food clean and nice service, bravo they deserve their 5 Stars
We paid 150 dollars for disgusting, greasy food that didn t seem edible. The only thing we ate was the spring rolls and we spent thirty minutes arguing with Tony over the phone for a refund because we couldn t eat 95% of the food (see picture of how much food was a waste) Don t eat here. Besides the nasty expensive food, they just don t know how customer service works.
Ordered food online, when it arrived it was dry, poor quality, honestly so bad. We didn t even eat it. When I spoke to the manager Tony he said that us thinking the quality was bad was a personal preference and he s never heard anyone say the food is bad in his 20 years of working there, so there s not much he can do about it. Reviews say otherwise. Bad service and bad food, don t bother
Im from Manitoba and enjoyed the delicious food, fantastic, professional service. We had a delicious lunch with oir friends here from Richmond Hill and Mississauga. Thank you. It was a pleasure to try here. Highly recommend. Food is absolutely delicious and the service is great they are professional and yet also funny we loved it. Be ready for a packed place.
No crabs as advertised
Good: Nice decor, cool costumes. Mid: Food was bleh, mall Chinese food would be 3 times cheaper and twice as tasty. Bad: Servers are trained do their best to upsell EVERYTHING. Drinks, food, dessert, you name it. I told our server to just get us 1 drink, and she acknowledged it. So I know for a fact she knew I said 1 drink and she even held up 1 finger in acknowledgement. She comes back with 2 drinks, half filled so I thought she was being nice and split them for me and my partner. WRONG - when it was time to pay, she charged for 2 drinks! And refused to accept that she made a mistake. The manager even came over and didnt know how to defuse the situation, so he didnt make eye contact with me and looked at the server the whole time, saying nothing! Thats $14 per drink! Ridiculous place, I ended up paying for the drink as they refused to do anything about it even though our bill came out to $110 for 2 people. Now yall wonder why business is so bad. See you never.
Cynthia s has been the top, dine in Chineese restaurant in the region for as long as I can remember.
First time we went there for a takeout. That restaurant looks luxurious, very clean and the front desk was super polite. Pay cash and save 10%. Food
We did a take out of 5 different dishes ranging from rolls, soup, vegetables, chicken and seafood. The only things we liked from our order were the steamed rice and fortune cookies. Must be just our taste buds, but weve never so unanimously and readily agreed to never order from this place again.
Very authentic and charming restaurant with traditional Chinese decor, friendly staff and service, most importantly good food. I highly recommend their peking duck, and soy lobster, definitely my go-to dishes every time.
Love the food here. We were here for a celebration of life luncheon following our fathers service. The staff was fantastic and food was very tasty. They happily accommodated the people in our group who was vegetarian and another who was gluten free, to a tee! Will definitely return again! Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options!
Very nice dining experience. Very calming environment. Food is very good. Please bring back Corn Soup to the lunch menu! Food : 5/5
Terrible food and overpriced. I don t usually bother leaving negative reviews if I don t like a restaurant, but for this I felt compelled. The beef and broccoli was somehow burned, the chicken and corn soup tasted like syrup, and the Pad Thai was all mushy.
For first time and based in reviews we got food from this place. It was so bad we ended up not eating it. The chicken in my wifes dish was burned, the food was dry with no flavour.
Fantastic as usual. Always so good!
Try to take out first time very very small amount of food and crazy overprice if you want to eat normal and not overpay just go another restaurant zero star never will order again
Service and food was excellent
They have cute robots delivering the very tasty dishes.
Sooo good! Staff are amazing. Clean, great service, we all enjoyed! Loved the robot delivery system!
Excellent food quality, great customer service! The robot food servers are delightful!
Love the food... love the service... very tasty and very cozy
Very nice restaurant and service. Food was very nice as well.
Staff were wonderful and food was definitely a step up from what you would get at most places. Love the relaxed atmosphere, will be back for sure!
There are few mainstays left in our lives during this pandemic. Fortunately, Cynthias remains a genuine fixture as a source of premium Chinese culinary goodness, exceptionally trained and attentive staff, and a sense of joie de vivre you wouldnt normally find during dark times. This is an oasis that will keep you coming back because you enjoy feeling like a King or a Queen and because the originality of the cuisine (from the soups to the egg/spring rolls to the gloriously underrated Mongolian beef and the criminally tasty Peking Duck will leave a monumental impression. If you want value and a sense of discovery, Cynthias Chinese Restaurant will take you there and back again.
A fave go to for a nice night out. I loved the Kitty robots and the staff are amazing. I recomend anything with the smoked duck.
Cold and very low quality. We went for lunch and it cost us $150.00. Waitress are trying to ignore you when you call them. I requested my drink which they charge me for but they ignored me up to the last minute. Food comes so late and mostly under or over cooked. Dont recommend at all. You can go to better restaurants for that price.
Best Chinese food around. Food is always hot, delicious & on time.
I went for a dinner with my family 3adults, the food was low quality but the price was high. The waiter was pushing us to order more dishes for 3 adults. I ordered a crab soup cost $9 which is very small and only for one person and overpriced for that quantity. I was expecting a decent quality soup but they failed. They used artificial crab which you can buy at Walmart for $3 and mix it up. I have ordered Seafood fried rice; again I was disappointed with the taste. Shrimp tasted no flavor at all. Again looks like $10 shrimp bag you can buy at Walmart and mix it up with rice. Each dishes I was charged almost $20 so at least serve some decent quality food. You can go to better restaurant for that price. I will not recommend this place
Very enjoyable, excellent selection of sushi and dim sum dishes. The menu is all you can eat and is ordered through a tablet left at the table. The menu has pictures of all the dishes and details of the number of pieces included in the selection. I especially enjoyed the robot that delivered the food.
The taste and quality have fallen below, not worth the price anymore. and once they got your payment they will force you to leave even you re still not done with your dessert. i don t recommend this place and i will never come back here anymore.
The restaurant has an elegant environment, delicious drinks, and top-notch products.
Ive been going here for years now. A really nice place to come with friends and family. They use ipads to order and they only take credit or cash but they have an atm to withdraw cash in the restaurant. Last time i went with my husband and some friends and they had a robot waiter. It goes from table to table with your order . It was pretty neat and it drew alot of attention so its pretty cool for buisness.
Robot messed up your order and was very loud food was good best play for all you van eat in town
The lil cat robot goes nuts
Absolutely love this place
Great Mothers Day dinner! Fast service, great food. Love the robot delivering food.
The best all-you-can-eat sushi place you can go to. Staff is friendly and food is delicious and fresh.
Always fresh. Always delicious. Cool robots.
Interesting place. Robots deliver some of your food. Food was good, not great. Nice small portions, not over whelming. Fairly clean restaurant.
Some of the personnel show attitude.
Weve seen a couple of Cynthias restaurants but never tried it out until now. There are two restaurants in this plaza, a Chinese one and a Thai/Korean/Japanese one. I ordered from the Chinese one and got vegetarian spring rolls, chicken wings, and chicken flat noodles. They were all delicious. Will be coming back for more.
Their food was amazing , I loved everything I ordered , specially their desserts , I usually don t like all you can eat because of their low quality but their food was perfect , totally recommend them
I ordered the spicy crispy salmon roll and got food poisoning. Thanks a lot, won t be ordering here again.
Great place to eat Chinese food. Recommend it
Only ordered take out through their online app which is very easy. Orders were alasy packed well so by the time we got home still tasted as good as if we sat in. They separate the sauce for you to add at home so the meat stays crispy. Most dishes ordered were very good however, veggie lo mein wasnt very flavourful and order of sweet and sour pork was small for the price. Rice dishes, spicy shrimp and Singapore noodles though were delicious, plentiful and are our go tos. Have not dined in but every time Ive gone to pick-up (dont deliver to Sharon) I have seen tables available.
the service was so good bro and the food was the best
The Food is great!!! The Service is so warm and welcoming! Love coming here. And it is HALAL
Poor hosting experience. Loud atmosphere, asked for a booth setting was told no even though I could see booths vacant. The host was trying to squeeze us in a corner where it was noiser. Would you want to spend money where you are treated as a number?
I love this place, Great food, great atmosphere. Staff is super nice. Been there a dozen times and the food quality is always consistent. Never had a off night yet. Great job, keep it up.
Poor service, server was very rude and unprofessional.
Terrible service, the waitress (co-co) with a terrible attitude, she literally snatched our plates, we wanted to order and she made us dirty faces, she took away our tablet, she was with two other friends, she made us feel uncomfortable. The only nice thing was the robot.
Wonderful customer service, quiet and calm dining area, and fantastic food. It was a wonderful experience.
taste is horrible and quantity is low when compared with the price
Five star food and five star service
Went there for a birthday dinner for friends 1sr we Waited a long time to be seated even though we had a reservation When paying I was given back the the bill and my money 3 times because I wouldn t give her more money for a tip She the entire time I was there brung me two pops . I ordered my food which I did not receive all of and the robot brung me the food, I did not feel she derserved more of a tip and was I as well as all my other guests were seriously insulted when she gave me the bill and money back three times. Would never go there again even though the food I did get was good.
I went there. Oct 17. Had chicken balls. Overcooked. And dry no flavour. Quality not good. Will never go back there again
The atmosphere is INSANE here! We had all you can eat and the prices were decent. The taste was not as good as I expected it to be but the experience was worth every penny. The only problem was on our last order we didnt get the pork buns no matter how much we reminded the waitresses about it. And the customer service definitely needs improvement. Thats why they lose a star.
Went out for dinner with friends the food was pretty good but the service was garbage they were kinda rude. Also they dont tell you how the robots work your are supposed to take the food only from the lit up shelf okay so Tell people that. also they only take cash or credit which is inconvenient.
Horrible thug of a waiter grabbed my wrist and forced it into the tap position because I was to slow for him and then rushed my daughter and I out of the restaurant. Our original female server was very friendly and efficient. I suspect he was not fond of my gender or my race. We wont be back!
Good environment, average food
This place is amazing. Great food and great service!! Most consistently delicious Chinese food Ive had in the area.
Very fresh and tasty. Staff are amazing and delivery was perfect.
Always fresh and well cooked food
Fantastic food , great service
Great food every time
The service and atmosphere are fantastic, the food however is steeply overpriced and of average quality.
Food was bland. No flavour. No garlic, no ginger, no spice, only broccoli, onion an a bit of carrot in the mixed vegetables. No mini corn, bamboo shoots, peppers or water crestnut. Found an electrical wire in my mouth that I came close to swallowing that was in the food. Wish I could post a picture.
Not good at all. Very disappointed......
Very disappointed. Sizzling black pepper beef was okay....but the duck was incredibly disappointing especially since I was really looking forward to it. See pic, their traditional duck says boneless on the website but it was all bone. Unfortunate because the sauce tasted good but there was little meat the rest was bone. When you look at the picture the meat you see, the thickness is actually bone lol so expensive just to eat bone.
Just bad food. Simple. Ordered 5 different plates and the only thing thay tasted good was their fortune cookies.
2 star food for 5 star price
Ordered shrimp rolls, very tasty but over priced. You get 2 pencil thin rolls for $9.95. The tofu with mixed vegs was very bland. Will not be returning.
The combo plate tasted good but way too many onions as a filler
Great food, service and presentation. Value for the money is great. Not the cheapest, but very well worth every penny and more!
Our family has been ordering Cynthias for over 10 years, it does not disappoint. The lettuce wraps are a family favourite and we drive all the way from Stouffville to Newmarket to pick up food here frequently. Staff are always friendly and helpful in person or on phone. Highly recommend!
Excellent decor and furnishings in a fine dining setting. Fast service and friendly staff. The menu is more of a Canadian Chinese with dim sum. The quality is very high and very tasty. Highly recommended.
Very disappointed.... It was our first time here and seeing that its thanksgiving, we decided to go for food thats better quality. Oh how wrong we were... We ordered 4 dishes for 3 people and the damage done for these very disgraceful food court quality food they claimed to be fine dining, was $82, discounted to a whopping $74 because we paid cash. With the amount of food that we received and the quality of the food that we got, $40 would have been on the higher end of the price I would be willing to pay for this. Alright, sure, the fried tofu being soggy is normal since I ordered it for takeout, but it was salty to the point where it felt like I was chewing on soggy salt clumps half the time. The shrimp fried rice came with the small frozen already peeled shrimp that you can buy a bag of 40 for less than $10 at any Chinese supermarket. The prawn dish came with only 6 pieces and a full plate of onions that somehow costs $21. Finally, the highlight of the night... Half a duck. That is if you consider half a duck as one that has no wings and breast, then sure, you can call that half a duck. Even then, half the tray of duck we got was burnt black and inedible, with a lot of it being random pieces of scrap. The only actually recognizable pieces was the drumstick. I didnt come for Chinese fine dining to eat burnt duck scrap for $25. Im giving them 2 stars because ok... Fine, the food is still at a decent food court quality level, and was able to be enjoyed as such. Will not be visiting again and definitely do not recommend, unless you have disposable cash that you can throw around. At which point, Id recommend you to spend the money on gas and drive to Markham and almost any restaurant you go there is cheaper and better tasting.
After enjoying for years the warm hospitality and superior quality of food afforded us by Cynthia s Chinese Restaurant and Cynthia s Paradise, it is time to call their presence without exaggeration as one of Newmarket s not just culinary but cultural spots. The accolade has to do with Andy and his ability to imbue his staff with his values. What is most remarkable about Andy is not just his remarkable business acumen and his pleasing aesthetic touch in ample evidence in both premises but his engaging quiet humanity, his dedication at making his customers feel they had had something they could call it an experience. It is very heartening to see that his business creations have survived a most difficult period.
Usually great..once had dried out lemon chicken thus a four!
Amazing experience! Loved the robot server. Friendly staff and excellent food!!! I think it is my new favorite restaurant
bad service
Nice food, didnt like the sushi at all but all you can eat meat and vegetables were okay. Felt very rushed, as Im guessing they want high turn over $. Very expensive overall
My daughter & I old fashioned orange duck, b. b. q. pork, & mixed veggies. & steamed rice . We each took the rest of the food home with enough for a meal on Christmas day !!!
Wow, great dining experience, if you like hot and sour soup along with spicy cuisine at good price, this is a place you need to try.
Our party had such a great time! Great food, great service. Definitely going back again
Got the beef ramen and 2 rolls. Everything was excellent. Staff were friendly and fast. Will definitely be going back.
Was extremely busy for take out. Had no problem getting a table for New Years Eve dinner. Been there many times and NEVER, disappointed. Great staff and excellent food. I usually dont rave about places, but this one is excellent.
Surprisingly pretty good. Lots of a food options and the decorations and dishes were quite unique. Overall the decor is tradition but also a but dated. Though it didnt detract from the entire meal so no complaints. Had a good time there and would recommend a try.
Dirty kitchen, yaks dirty food
Found plastic wrap in the sushi roll....
Exceptional service and great food.
Great experience. Fantastic!
Normal Chinese food. Everything was super salty. Spring rolls good
We just had take out food deliverd. The food arrived 15 minutes earlier than we were told, which is good. We ordered hot and sour soup, and wonton soup it was good. Everything else was terrible. The sesame seed prawn were almost burnt at the bottom, and absolutely flavorless. We ordered the house special fried rice, which we had ordered before and was great, also was flavorless. We ordered pork fried egg noodle, in Their menu said it was crispy, but was wet soggy and flavorless. The king pao chicken which was to be extra spicy, still no spice or flavour. Everything tasted the same, really bland. This would be acceptable from a hole in the wall restaurant were you pay 39.99 for a dinner for four. Not from Cynthias which has always been great
It is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. Very delicious. It may be a little bit pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for., When it comes to fine Chinise Cuisine Absolutely scrumptious Thanks
In a Covid-19 environment, take-out seems to be the only option at a place without a patio. It is priced for Covid-19, on the high side, but not that I am complaining these days. Got a combo 2 for $15 with a 10% cash discount. The food came out fast, fresh and hot. Fair portion size, they load up on the rice. Taste-wise it was good but on the salty side. I had to keep drink water for the rest of the afternoon. Ask for a knife and fork because I was eating it in my car but didn t provide napkins. Luckily I had my own. Update: 6% Covid surcharge.
Great service and fantastic food.
Fresh
Best Chinese around
Good food. A little high price on the AYCE sushi though. They didnt give us a couple things on our order. Have some nice plexiglass to separate tables and they do an electronic sign in which was pretty neat. Liked the dessert options but the cream puffs would of been better just served cold and not fried. They were way too oily.
The food is great
Im at Pain clinic two Door away
Very sma
Only place I will order Chinese. Food. Always fresh. Take out is always on time
Atmosphere, service and the food are great. Been going there for years and it never disappoints.
The food is very worst. I bought the 2 people combo. They have beef dish, since I am an Indian i want to switch to fish course. They asked me to pay extra 4 dollar. Which I am not happy with it. So if u are indian its not a good place to have your dinner. And they have only salmon as their fish option. Which is too bad.
Thee best place to have sushi period...
Always fresh food. One suggestion, please allow online reservations. It said you did not accept reservations, so I didnt call. Be more clear!
The food is pretty good but they are really expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants. It s definitely a more upscale place.
Very good ambiance and the food taste delicious. Food was a little bit expansive but with all that ambiance its worth it. I ordered Halal food... Chicken and Beef and my overall experience is very good. would definitely recommend to try
Their decoration is very Chinese characteristics, their menu is made into a fan or the holy will of the ancient emperors. The dish is more suitable for the local taste because it is too sweet.
Super food and service
Sashimi fresh
Food was mediocre and overpriced. They charged me to bring a CC machine to my house :|
As the first Chinese restaurant in Newmarket, has been open for nearly 30 years. The environment and service is undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant in Newmarket, and the dishes are also very good. Highly recommended.
Amazing food and friendly service!
