Mr Dumpling in Newmarket

An awful experience. Stuff plays dumb. Smiling with their plaster smiles, so unfriendly and not accomodating. I asked to make half an order and they said no with have no explanation. I don t need a huge container of meat, asked for half, they smile and say no. How idiotic!! Awful experience, zero custemer service. So NOT custemer friendly. Terrible!!!

2024: 2/5 - Very friendly and fast but their food is not good... Had the Cantonese Chow Mein. The meal had in it a VERY limited amount of chicken...also the veggies, and the noodles were undercooked...a shame as the ladies at the front were very friendly...

I liked how fresh the crab/cheese dumplings were in addition on how it was crispy! However, I believe the crab inside was not sufficient enough:)it was more like a cheese dumpling!

Ordered take out very small portions not enough sauce on the meal ether. The dumplings were very fresh tho & tasty, just the beef & broccoli is very small if not for the rice it could fit in a small lunch box for a child. Otherwise great food

There was a misunderstanding on one of my orders. At first I was extremely disappointed and decided to call them. This is where the 5 stars come in play, the time the owner spent listening to me and genuinely cared changed it for me! AMAZING lo-main and amazing customer service!

Ive tried this place a few times now, and it keeps getting worse. Food is made quickly, but all dishes taste the same...not to mention you pay $13-$15 for a meat dish and get 90% of the container filled with veggies and onions.

Love the service here. Lady at the front desk is amazing nice and sweet. Always remembers my meals. Thank you. Food is always the best.

The food is great, however I found what looked like a pubic hair in my food, and it completely turned me off from this place. They need to implement higher standards of cleanliness, and that hair/beard nets are worn.

Food quality has lately got worse to the point that stew and noodles smell like rancid oil.There were barely any shrimp/veg in our order, and the curry was watery.

Probably the worst take out Ive had in a long time. We ordered the Cantonese chow mein, pad Thai and chicken balls. Everything had no flavour whatsoever. The Cantonese chow mein was a flavourless boiled mess. It was so bad I had to throw it out. Complete waste of money.

Two stars for lack of effort and dry flavorless rice. Fried rice is pretty easy to make and everyone knows what to expect when you order it. Even the pictures in the online menu showed fried rice with veggies. There were onions in all 4 of ours, and thats it. No egg, no peas, no carrots, not even the odd broccoli. Is it that hard to add from a bag of frozen peas and carrots? It was dry. Very dry. And the only flavor was onion. The saving grace were the 6 shrimp, but Im not sure it was worth $12.50 -ish. 4 packs of soy sauce helped a bit. Sad.

Hot and spicy shredded chicken comes as advertised ! Super hot and spicy but tasteful! Was worried Uber order would be cold because Uber had switched drivers On me twice but food came hot and fresh! Steamed Thai dumplings a real textural treat !! So good!

I have been to this location many times since they first opened over a decade ago. They have a good number of options for anyones tastes and the prices here are decent. Definitely try the combo meals. They are always packed in the container and the amount you get is more than enough for anyone. The service is fast, professional and if you order take-out they are always on time wherever your location is in Newmarket.

I ordered chicken balls and received a container with 15 little chicken balls and 95% rice. I paid $16 for plain white rice. What a rip off!

First and LAST time. Everything was terrible except vermicelli noodles. Chili chicken was 95% bread. Chowmein vegetables were raw and had a clear slime stuff on it. Should really reconsider what you are serving.

Ive been going to this Mr. Dumpling for almost 15 years. The quality and price of the food has remained phenomenal, and the staff are always so friendly. The Kung Pao chicken with crab cheese dumplings is a knockout combo, my fav Chinese food order ever.

Best Chinese food in town

First time here and probably the last. I mean the food doesnt taste bad, but I never seen (or heard) a cantonese chow mein being made with instant noodles & extra load of msg

Horrible taste with extreme cost control. I know the level of Chinese cuisine is below GTA average but this is exceptionally poor quality food.

Had another great meal from here last night. The shop is always busy but service is friendly and efficient and the food is wonderful. Extras are added to your meal if you pay cash.

This is an objective and honest appraisal of what I can only describe as the WORST take away I have ever experienced. Pad Thai Chicken was NOT by any stretch of the imagination Pad Thai.. stale old cuppa noodles with 4 stringy little strands of chicken with a greasy soya based sauce. The Tao chucken was little tiny heavily breaded scraps of chicken like meat with what tasted like watered down VH sauce.

We used to order for Mr. Dumpling atleast once a week. We recently ordered and because we live in an apartment building with no buzzer we ask them to please call us when theyre here. After we ordered we waited for almost 2 hrs so we decided to give them a call to see what was going on. I simply asked what was going on with our order and the lady began yelling at me! Stating that their driver was outside our building waiting for 2 hrs. I tried to tell her that it must of been the reception on my phone because I never recieved any calls. She proceeded to keep yelling at me and said she was sick of us. Im so disappointed. Never ordering from there again....

Ordered chicken pad thai and got tofu pad thai. They refused to exchange it. I called and spoke with them. The cost was $12.49 plus tax. Was offered a $3 credit. Will never order from Mr Dumpling again.

Ordered food from Mr. Dumpling missing items from our order and all our meat dishes were filling with sauteed vegetables with a few chunks of meat. That will be my last order from there.

This place doesnt look like much from the outside.... or the inside...BUT the food is very good and very well priced. Worth a visit for sure.

This chilli chicken was spicy and good. It comes with fried rice, and a choice of side(dumplings/spring rolls/pop). It was suggested by the lady when I asked for something spicy and it was very good.:)

Food all taste the same, very greasy... Lack of flavour and they also got my order completely wrong. Dont understand the good reviews not a single person in my party was happy with their meal and a few people were sick the next day....

Yesterday we had a staff dinner at our store to thank everyone for going above and beyond during the COVID craziness. We went in to Mr. Dumpling the other day to see if they could accommodate our request for many individual orders (not wanting to share dishes given our current state of social distancing). The young lady at the counter was beyond gracious and took all our information then so when we called our order in on Sunday the address, etc. Would be there. We placed our order at noon and asked for delivery at 6pm. Not only was the food delivered right on time, it was all still steaming hot and really delicious. Thank you Mr. Dumpling for service above and beyond.

Food was greasy and tasteless. Ended up quite sick after eating here.

I was worried about the chicken balls because at some places there can be a lot of the batter and not much chicken but these were delicious and they were hot good portion sizes great value for your money

Always a lovely place to go for an after work meal without having to spend too much or wait too long, Staff are always friendly and willing to make adjustments if needed to an order.

Update: Beware they sometimes serve food that tastes stale and is extremly chewy. When food is fresh its amazing. Issue is you never know when its going to be fresh or stale. They must know they serving stale food. Shame on you guys. Very nice people working there but that doesnt make up for inconsistency with food prep. Been going here for years. Same issues all the time. Keeping trying to give chances and its happened so often my stomach get queezy thinking about going here.

Aboslutley love this place! Me and my boyfriend found this place through skip the dishes one day while we were craving chinese food at work and it was amazing! We started coming here atleast once a week and have been there about 5 times now. Staff are so friendly and happy, the food is delicious and you get a great amount of for for the price! Plus theyre always quick and everyone is so nice! Highly recommend this place to anyone! Weve fallen in love with the food and were so happy we found this place!

This is our favourite place for Chinese Food Delivery. Everything is hot and fresh when it arrives and it s always been under an hour for delivery time. The dumplings are delicious and so is there Thai curry dishes!

Food is good but the customer service us horrible. Clearly they advertise 15+$ for delivery but when I tried they said they didnt want to deliver for that price ..only 25$+... Screw off you are a cheap Asian fast food place and you advertise that you will dilevery for 15$... Stupid.

Food is very good and made fast. Like their vegetables which are well seasoned and never over cooked. My children like their chicken balls, crispy and thin layer of dough. The lady on cash is always helpful and polite.

The food was very reasonable and not saturated in oil. The best part about this restaurant is the service. The cashier placed our order with a smile. When are food was ready she brought it to our table and got us napkins and cutlery...not bad for a fast food restaurant!!!

I love Mr. Dumpling! It has been my go to chines place for a few years now. They serve food thats a little more authentic as well as the usual chinese-American dishes. Its a bit more expensive than some other places but the quality is amazing for many, many of the dishes. The staff are also very sweet and they have a lot of good combo deals for one person which can be hard to find!

I like this place. Not sure why I drove to Aurora for my Chinese food fix before when this place is so close. If you like fast Chinese Take out, the food is good and priced well especially the daily special. Staff is always friendly, service is faster than you expect even when they are very busy.

First time was good, food tasted ok with proper portion, second time i got the same thing which was Chilly Chicken and Steamed Rice, it had four very small pieces of chicken and the rest was rice and onions. The Tangy Pineapple Pork was mostly batter, i have had this before and i know it was over loaded with batter. Cant blame it on the cook because it the same cook that works there all the time. Was very disappointed, will not be buying from there again. Its to bad because it was close by my home and i wanted to make it my spot for Chinese food. Sorry Mr.Dumpling but your portions suck. Taste was 5 out of 10. No consistency in taste or portions at all. My personal over all rating would be 2 star.
