Well, Im incredibly disappointed. I used to come here for a falafel pita all the time I have always come here. It was always delicious. As soon as I walked in the door, I could tell that there was new ownership, and I was very nervous And I had every right to be it seems. Absolutely zero flavour in the felafel they actually taste frozen now I asked for hot sauce and I got none. No tahini. No garlic . The only thing that I could taste was lettuce. For 20 bucks I expect a lot more than this. Very friendly people, but when youre lacking flavour and filling your full food, full of lettuce You unfortunately wont survive long.

The food was good, but the price was very high $29.95 for a Mediterranean salad and souvlaki for 1 person. I do not know if this place is under new ownership, but I have had this before and it was only $17.95.

The Greek House staff were extremely pleasant however the food lacked flavour. The rice is bland, the salad was yummy and the chicken kabob was just okay.

Im not sure if its delivery orders only, but I used to love this place and recommend it to everyone in the area who likes Greek food, however, unfortunately the prices have gone up and the portion sizes down so much that its just not worth it to me anymore.

Greek house used to be a hidden gem, one of my favourite locally owned Newmarket spots. I hadn t been in a while and decided to stop by for some lunch today. What a disappointing experience I had. I got my usual (a chicken shawarma wrap). They ve obviously changed something here because what I received today was horrific. They do not cook chicken on a spit anymore, instead I was served chicken out of a container. Their prices have gone up exponentially with the portion sizes going down. The wrap itself was half the size of what I used to receive and was sopping wet with yellow oil, but somehow the chicken was still dry and flavourless. It was mushy and disgusting. I was given barely any toppings or sauce. All for the steep price of $15.21 with tax. I am sad to see the quality of a place that used to be so amazing go down so quickly. I won t be returning here ever again.

I mean... its consistent but kind of underehelming. Both souvlaki and gyros *PLATES* are on rice with at most 3 potato wedges. Taste-wise those two dishes are OK. The guy who works there is very friendly. Standard diner-type atmosphere; not too spatious.

This place used to be great. Change of mgmt??? The souvlaki meats are boiled dry and not edible. The potatoes awful! The food is not freshly cooked on the grill like before. Very sad downturn.

My lamb dinner was significantly under portioned. Lamb was overcooked - Could barely eat it. My potatoes was very undercooked. Rice and lamb has no seasoning, sauce or any flavour as it was very bland. Too pricey for quality you are getting

Ordered from the take out menu and was told after it was made, that they didnt update the menu prices and was charged 2$ more. Beef was very tough and not much flavor. Wrap fell apart when I started eating it. 1 star.

I ordered the beef shawarma plate here today. My wife had a chicken wrap. My beef was miserably tough and grizzled...and what I was able to eat, tasted and had the texture of, plain boiled meat. The owner offered something complimentary when I expressed my disappointment but I declined. Wont be returning.

They say items are halal but the people working dont know what is halal. They also serve pork so it doesnt make any sense. I reluctantly got a beef shawarma wrap which turned out to be cold and didnt have any flavour. I dont recommend this place

Disappointing. Pork wasnt seasoned. No flavour. Tasted like it may have been an oven roast or boiled pieces that got a quick fry. Small pieces. Potatoes were undercooked and still raw. Fyi salad dressing is that creamy dressing not a traditional herbed vinaigrette. Salad was basically a garden with black olives and just a sprinkle of feta (maybe because they figure the creamy feta dressing is enough. It isnt). The feta was 1/3 of what is in tge pictures and meat chunk size portions were closer to half the size in the pictures in the reviews. I probably wouldnt have left a negative review if the meat was at least tasty. Ill happily pay top dollar for excellent food. But this was overpriced and sub par food. To be fair, rice and tzanziki sauce were average. Will not be ordering again.

2023: 4/5 -chicken souvlaki = 4/5 - tasty, though small, still hungry after I ate this as really should be a bigger wrap for what you pay IMO... -spanakopita (not sure if it was called this or something else - just this is what it is normally called) = 2.5/5 - cold, and without much flavour at all -baklava = 4/5 - tasty, nice Overall: Not worth driving to but if you are in the area their chicken souvlaki and baklava is very nice and worth getting. Parking: A lot of spots in the area...just a warning if coming from the south entrance to the plaza you will have to go over 3 speed bumps outside the Metro...if you come from the western entrances you have to negotiate ZERO speed bumps. :)

Appatently these guys dont understand the meaning of easy on the sauce or just a bit of sauce. Their wraps are more like soup with the amount of sauce they put on.

I can t even eat this. It s mushy, doesn t taste like chicken (actually it tastes awful) and what s the yellow stuff oozing out of it. First and last time. I love throwing money away. I guess I m eating cereal for dinner Food : 1/5

My first time trying this place, and it exceeded my expectations. The lamb souvlaki was a personal favorite, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken kebab. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent. Well definitely be returning and recommending it to everyone we know.

Had excellent service here, and a delicious chicken shawarma. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming, but also feels authentic and traditional. Perfectly seasoned chicken, and fresh toppings. Very friendly staff.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food. Since its called Greek House I was expecting more authentic Greek food, but the Greek flavours were not there. They definitely focus on schwarma. They were very friendly and the overall taste was good, but if you want Greek food this is not the place.

Been eating here for years I absolutely love this place What ever you did to change the way the chicken is served and cooked please go back to the way it was Dry as all hell and the chicken used to be nice and small cut up . Was large peices in hard to eat I took three bites and threw out the whole chicken Sharma dinner. Very disappointed

Meh. Pleasant people and service, but average tasting food. I got the Gyro plate. Wasnt great, wasnt horrible. Tzatziki needed twice the amount of garlic and they might as well have just skipped the hot sauce because I couldnt even taste any heat. A solid 2.5 star for food and 5 star for service.

I used to go here pre-pandemic for the shawarma and meat dishes. Always delicious, nicely cooked not to mention portions are SUPER GENEROUS, so be prepared for a full stomach by the time youre done. So glad that the 404 plaza still has this little gem!

Always great Shawarmas

Went here for the first time today, had the beef shawarma wrap and it was fantastic. The beef was seasoned perfectly and it was super tender. The toppings were fresh and crispy and the hot sauce was fantastic! Highly recommended.

So today was the last day I go to greek house. It s unfortunate to say after YEARS of going there and referring many friends to eat there. I always got the chicken shawarma wrap, it was great. Tonight I wanted to go for the dinner plate since I was more hungry. The thing thats making me not come back is the service, not the food. When making the plate i got a kids size scoop of chicken in comparison to the rice serving. I asked for hummus and garlic on the plate assuming it s included, (just like 99% of the other shawarma joints). Time comes to checkout, and I was charged $17, I questioned. She said it s because you got those additions. Sorry, but I wasn t told those general toppings would cost extra or I would ve passed. Should ve just walked away. Not telling the truth to a kid, cmon Watch out, they may gouge you next!

As a 5 year regular customer, I admit this is one best restaurant i have ever been. The customer service is amazing and the quality of the food is really high. Whenever I have the chicken shwarma rap, I enjoy eating it bite by bite. Sometimes, I miss their food. one the best for sure.

We just ordered 3 chicken souvlaki dinners. A large bed of rice topped with juicy chicken and lots of sauce. And a very nice side salad.. Will pay another visit soon. Very tasty

Only two good food items were spanikopita which o think came from pre-made frozen. And the salad was super fresh. The souvlaki was really bland as was potatoes and rice. The baklava was dry with no honey in the middle. The falafel was bland also.

This is the Greatest shawarma in Newmarket area, so many other Meditarian food. Great flavor consistency. Very healthy with no sugar spikes. Just basic Healthy food. Enjoy.

Just had the worst falafel I ve ever had. Couldn t eat it and threw it away. The falafel themselves were pasty and bland but had some odd flavor that was very distasteful. I asked for everything on it and found that it was loaded with mostly raw onions and garlic. Hardly any tomatoes or pickles. Will never ever go back. Had to kiss that $8.49 goodbye and went next door to Pizzaville.

My girlfriend and I tend to eat out a lot, so we have opportunities to eat at a lot of different locations and a lot of different restaurants. The Greek House its pretty decent actually considering Im not really a Greek food fanatic, but I was pretty impressed with this location. The food selection was quite good, their salads were excellent, and they were well priced when compared to their competition. I would not hesitate to recommend the Greek House to my family or friends.

I cant say anything about the other dishes, but I always order the Gyro, and find it really fantastic.

I say avoid. The place is messy even per middle eastern fast food standards. While kebab was ok, the salade was too basic and tasteless. Potatoes were simply boiled looks like with no spices, so also no taste.

To pricy not great service

Ive been visiting this restaurant with friends and family for years. Great tasting food, friendly service and reasonable prices keep me coming back. The restaurant as well as the washrooms are clean too. Im really not sure what to make of the few negative reviews here, because my experience has always been a positive one. If you like Greek/Mediterranean food, you cant go wrong with this place!

Ive ordered the Greek salad with shrimp skewers a hand full of times. I havent tried anything else, so I cannot comment on their other dishes. The shrimp were well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. And they cook them to order, which is nice. The salad however, was basic but the dressing was tasty.

The shawarma is not off the spit so they heat it up after it s been sitting all day and serve it to you dry. It has the texture and appearance of leather or plastic. They charge extra for humus which is crazy to me. Humus is part of shawarma, end of story. The vegetables were fresh and my salad was good. The people are nice but looked annoyed and puzzled when I asked for humus for my shawarma. The portion was the smallest I ve ever seen. I paid an extra $5 for extra shawarma to bring it up to normal portion size. Overall, they give an appearance of being very cheap. If they don t throw out food that s old, stingy on their portions, and charge extra for humus, who knows what else they are doing to save a few bucks.

This Greek restaurant is a diamond in the rough. It is a must visit. The shawarma is excellent and the salad is of top quality. The portion size is impressive and overall is one of the best Greek experiences I have had. Don t let the simple store front and atmosphere fool you, this is a must visit.

Love shawarma for lunch. Quick, testy, nutritios and fills you up. But, more often than not I am disappointed in the way of how people present that staple of Middle East cuisine. I dont know which Greek chef thought these guys to cook, but putting little bit of feta cheese on the salad, doesnt make this place a Greek House to me. Yes, I have a high food standards and we are all should. Asked for shawarma dinner. Guy filled up my container to go, with amount of rice that is enough for 3 adults. Shawarma from the container - dry, tasteless very small amount. Asked for hummus, guy said that it is extra! Ok, asked him to put just a little. He cover my meal with a soup ladle of very runny hummus. By the way, they serving parboiled rice which have zero nutrition and its the cheapest. And on top of that, they charging you, for that sloppy concoction almost $16 bucks! Verdict: extremely unimpressive, definitely not recommended. P. S. If I Only Could, I would recommend to people who run this place, visit Persian kebab house in Richmond Hill, which serves and Cooks outstanding Middle East food so they will learn how its done properly.

Customer service is good, pleasant employees however, the food is not so good. I ordered a Falafel sandwich, the Falafel tasted old, the oil used to fry it doesn t seem good. Veggies looked old, lettuce was brown, garlic sauce had a layer of old garlic which doesn t look appealing. Turnips tasted really bad. I ended up throwing the sandwich in the garbage. Giving 2 stars for the customer service. If you tried middle eastern food you ll immediately know the difference. I honestly do not recommend this place and will not be going back again.

Its a bit pricey for the quality of the food. Its not tasty at all. The spiral pastry was not warm, tasteless and very dry. Youre better off buying the frozen one in the grocery store. At least it taste better.

I have been 4 or 5 times now and always get the chicken shawarma and it never disappoints. Food quality and quantity is a great value for the reasonable price. The restaurant itself is nothing to look at and could do with some sprucing up inside, but the food is excellent.

A few months back, previous to this post, I reviewed 5 stars for Greek House. The food is amazing! And I do still enjoy the food quite a bit, however, Its been noticed that customer service is not a priority at this family-run establishment. I ve visited about 6 times and apart from the male manager, the staff seems miserable and cold. They don t like any requests, such as can you toast my shawarma longer or may I have a bit of extra sauce . They visibly roll their eyes, say something rude or display annoyance. Staff should never be required to smile all day by any means, but I wish their attitudes would improve. Don t frown when people walk through your door. Sincerely, I just wanna keep loving your food
