Villa Madina in Newmarket

This is one of the best shawarma places in Newmarket, I get it every time I m at the mall

The employees are super nice, very welcoming and have a great sence of humor! We will return.

This is by far the best shawarma joint in town. Meat is always cut per order and salads and toppings are fresh. Also, unlike some other places, they dont penny pinch and charge for extra sauces and etc

Very poor customer service. I would give zero stars if that was possible. I waited for so long to place my order but the guy on the counter was too busy socializing with other customer, talking something in their own language. Didn t even bother to recognize that I am standing there to order.

Wasted my 20 minutes to find but couldn t they didn t mentioned exact address don t go there you can t find it

I bought a salad and chicken and while eating I found hair in my food and when I complained the young man really rude keep saying it s is your hair not us and I showed him this is short hair and my hair is long ; and he just shake his shoulders and continue you have short hair as well. Also all of my salad was stale. I don t recommend .

I ordered online and money deducted from my bank account , but the restaurant did not receive the order , and they refused to give me the order neither my money back...they told me to call the main office ..... do i have time to call ?? its a scam .. Service

When you dont know about different dishes they automatically give and charge you for the more expensive dish.

Honestly, I ve been a regular customer at this place for over 10 years. The food is great and tasty but the portions are ridiculously stingy. I ordered two dishes with extra beef. Shawarma literally each extra portion of beef was charged 5 $ per and u got about ten little pieces. Complete joke. Listen the guys that work at this place are great and provide friendly service. Really nice guys but the owner of the establishment is constantly governing portions over then and becoming ever stingy every time we visit. I understand food costs but come on five dollars for extra meat and you can barely see it on the plate. I m done with this location.. my opinion save your money and visit another establishment that gives you value for your money.

i have lunch at 11 am and all the other foods are open at 11am but Villa Madina is always closed . i guess they don t need the money and always open later.

Service was very friendly. Portion size was very good. QUALITY of food was excellent. I wasnt expecting this place to be as good as it was, to be honest. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. Ill be back for sure.

Rude staff that has false advertising. Ordered on Uber eats with buy 1 and get 1 free shawarma at time of opening since I was in the mall. Cancelled order because they said they already sold put to Uber eats....apparently just as they opened. Total scam.

A young man that is working here is very rude. My wife and two children and I went to have dinner at Villa Madina in Upper Canada Mall. We asked the seller, who was a young man, for a plate of chicken and meat without rice, together with bread, but the seller refused to give us the food with bread. We asked the seller, he started being rude and aggressive, we informed the security there and told them about the problem, and they said to report this case to the head office of the restaurant because there was another similar case.

Don t order on their app if you need a refund. You will be ignored if you order through their app. Went to the store & we ordered at 2:27pm. Our order was suppose to be ready at 2:36pm. The cashier man told us we have to wait because it s gonna take some time . Weird because we ordered ahead of time it should have been ready. Anyways we still waited & now it is 2:47pm & they re serving everyone in line but not our order. Keep in mind we only ordered 2 roxbox & again ahead of time. We went to cashier man & asked for refund & he said he can t do refund if we ordered through the app because only head office has control over that. AND THEN he took our order receipt from the side machine to START our order. So our order was never in rotation especially with the other order receipts. It was just on the side machine not acknowledge or tended too. We finally got our order at 2:52PM. A total of 25 MINS. Even though at this point we didn t want it anymore we had no choice because they don t do refunds if you order from their app!!

They charged extra for most vegetables, and even then they were stingy with portions. The staff were rude. The shawarma was bland and didnt have enough meat. If you can, go to Chez Talal, which is nearby; their shawarma is much better. If you cant travel a couple of kilometers, then just eat Taco Bell or Subway instead; theyre cheaper and better tasting.

I ordered my meal with a bottle Pepsi, but they did not include that in my order. I called them back and requested to have my drink delivered as I had paid $4 dollars. They simply said Were sorry.

Would be a 0 star if I could. First off the man working was super rude to me because I couldn t understand him with his accent. I made him repeat himself and he rolled his eyes and sighed. Secondly the food was terrible I got a chicken shawarma wrap which cost me 12.42 no drink . The chicken was bland and undercooked and un-edible, I thought about going up to get my money back because I couldn t even force myself to finish the disgusting wrap, but judging by the customer service I would ve ended up in an argument. (They charge extra for cabbage that should speak volumes) All in all over priced garbage with awful customer service.

I love Shawarma. I have tried a lot. For a chain restaurant, this place is good! I recommend the wrap vs the plate....also, I have tried both beef and chicken, and I prefer the chicken. My usual go-to at the Upper Canada Mall food court.

yesterday i bought falafil rap . was smelly like fish smell and very hard like old . my stomac feel bad

I didn t like the food first time but still I tried second time and that s it .Hot sauce is not hot at all and completely spoiled the taste of chicken shawarma.

Food portions have gone down and now they charge you extra for salad. Also salad options have shrunk. Their points system never works so you can never collect. Very disappointing!

Got a Shwarma Box. Portion is very good. But you only get garlic sauce and spicy sauce with it. Not a single vegetable. And taste is a bare ok. Not something Id pay much money for. Customer service was ... ok as well. Main server is not an avid social communicator .

Presentation on point & fresh ingredients . Had the beef shawarma plate . Ill be back - that kefta looks good for next time!

I was told they were under new management and have made improvements to the services. All I can say is that I had a very pleasant experience, large portions, quick and friendly service. Nothing bad to say at all - would definitely go back when I have a craving! Keep up the good work!

I have been coming here for years. I think management has changed and the customer service is as attentative as a dead blow fish. The food is still good but I wont be returning based on the people.

Was surprised to learn that madinas was under new ownership. Mohaned (the gentlemen that served me), was very patient in answering all my questions about the ingredients used in their sauces. Not only is the service amazing, the food is to die for!! I highly recommend!

So, this place used to be managed by a rather grumpy individual who never smiled and seemed annoyed anytime you asked for anything. So please ignore all the negative reviews from before July 2018. The new management is amazing. Everyone is so friendly (especially Muhaned) that it makes eating here a total joy. The food is fresh and bins are full, unlike before. They interact so pleasantly with everyone who comes. This is our go to place when we come to Upper Canada Mall.

Went there today and Mohamed made me this fabulous large meal to go . 4 different kinds of salad and both beef and chicken . Always been my fav place to eat in the mall and service was excellent.

Probably one of the least welcomming shawarma restaurants I have ever been too. Little use of tongs, everything just thrown on by hand with little care. The two working behind the counter seem absolutly miserable. Second time Ive been to this one (always worth a second shot), and still the same poor experience. Will not be going back.

Got the beef shawarma pita, beef was scorched and tough, pita was stale, and veg was far from fresh. Paired with some of the most unfriendly service I have ever experienced; this place is a must-avoid!

I went to this fast food in upper Canada mall on saturday November 11, at 2:30 p.m, Ordered food for 2 people. Their food is amazing and very tasty. I asked for extra hot sauce, the guy behind counter gave it to me, but he had very poor manner and I felt he didnt like it that I asked for sauce. After tasting the sauce, not only wasnt hot, it was tasteless. I thought i should tell the guy. After finishing my food I went to him, he was charging another customer. When he saw me with my left over and sauce , without asking anything or making eye contact, threw up a plastic bag at me . Then I said , your food is amazing but please dont give this hot sauce to people. He said if you dont like it dont have it. I said I didnt know. He said then dont have it next time. He didnt have good attitude or sense of customer service. He could simply try the sauce and see what I meant. Nobody forced you to work . Having smile and pleasant attitude are essence for each business.

Beef Shawarma platter was terrible. I was born and raised in Mediterranean so I know what it should be like even as fast food and this meat was so awful that I couldn t eat half of it. Fatty meat, I can t even chew.

Amazing middle eastern food. I come to the UCM food court just for this restaurant. Very yummy and always a lot of food. Very friendly and accomodating staff as well.
