Price online for bangers and mash always been 16$ and still says 16$ but now they are charging 19$ when you get there and they don t even include any of the addons still so that would mean 25$+tax now if you wanted addons getting a bit too pricey and you could atleast update your prices on your own website

Three of us went for a birthday celebration on Friday night. While the food was good - we all had prime rib - the service was substandard. There seemed to be a number of regulars in there who were attended to punctually and pleasantly. We felt like intruders the whole time. And the only thing on the dessert menu was deep fried Mars bars? Seriously? I probably wont dine there again and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately our waitress was also the seating hostess. Thus OUR service suffered. As an example, when our appetizers arrived we were without cutlery. She said she would immediately get us cutlery. I watched her go off and clean two tables, seat other people, whilst our apps were growing cold. The food was good if only the service matched it.

I was there for chicken wing night. The whole table had wings and seemed to enjoy them, so it s possible they just weren t to my personal preference. The price was fantastic, but they were really tough and seemed overcooked. I got the hot honey sauce and the sauce was tasty. Service was good and is a really cool spot

Great service and atmosphere, however we found the food lacking, my wifes liver and onions dish was Good,but my ribs the sauce wasnt very flavorful,it was cooked well. My nachos did not have enough garnishes throughout, and the price for adding chicken was rather high.

Very fun on Sunday for Karaoke. My friends invited me out, and it was a great time. I would recommend for the environment, staff, and sense of community :)

They have cockroaches. Saw several after finishing a meal with my family. Couldn t get out of there fast enough.

First time there, the mini wellingtons were incredible - will definitely order again! The seasoning was delicious, the pastry and meat were perfect ratio, and horseradish mayo was a perfect condiment ! Only reason 4 of 5 was because the French onion soup was quite salty for me. Service was great too! Our server was friendly, and great sense of humour. Looking forward to our next visit!

Service is above and beyond, everyone works as a team and it really makes for a great experience! The owner is the nicest guy, the kitchen staff are super friendly! Ordered takeout and was disgusted to find a moldy cheese curd in the poutine. Luckily I had noticed it before taking a bite. Unbelievable.

Quaint pub on Main Street in Newmarket. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Food was good and reasonable priced. Would recommend if your in the area. Parking: Paid street parking and back lot although limited spots available. Kid-friendliness: Early afternoon children were present. Would not recommend later as seating limited or make reservations if permitted.

I enjoyed my Guinness. Yes. They got the 5* based on the fact they serve Guinness. I will consider the same for any restaurant so please start serving Guiness everywhere. Kid-friendliness: Leave them home. Wheelchair accessibility: Not as accessible by yourself but if you have anyone to open doors for you the width is fine and the bathroom exists.

Great place for entertainment and beer but not food. Ordered the wings and liver. Didnt enjoy it.

I ordered a double shot of whiskey, took a sip, and guess what? Four bugs decided to take a swim in my drink! I asked the guy to change it, and what do I get? Another round of buggy whiskey! Can you believe it? Bugs seem to love my drinks more than I do. Its like a bug pool party in my glass. Not cool at all.

They have people lining up not because its full, its so they look busy from the outside. Twice this has happened, the second time there was absolutely no one lined up, and you can clearly see that the pub was NOT packed. We were not there to sit down and eat, just to have a few drinks. Even as people were leaving, they wanted us to line up outside (not to mention a little blizzard out). They were at max capacity but I have seen it way more packed. When we looked in, the floors were clear and you can see straight through to the back. Makes me wonder if it was it was a discrimination thing???? Anyway, blessing in disguise, we ended up finding a super nice tavern around the corner with better service and atmosphere!!! This aint a pub in Toronto or in a club district, dont act like it is and make people line up because youre at max capacity. It makes you look stupid when you got windows that into the entire place and can clearly see that you arent.

The place is a little on the small side so you cant always be guaranteed a table but the staff is always friendly and the food is great. Theyre one of my first choices when I want a burger.

2nd time around. The first, we had prime rib, which we really enjoyed. Last weekend came back again. we had the 8 oz steak, onion rings, blueberry lemon cheese cake, liver with onion, and a pitcher of beer. Their food was way so much better than other restaurant. Definitely will be back again and again and again.

Saturday night live music and atmosphere were so good. Foods and drinks are above average and service is good. It gets too busy on weekends and somehow you have to line up when no one likes to leave! Street parking available for 2hrs limit free on weekends.

We went here for lunch on a Saturday, it was busy but the service was excellent! The Shepherds Pie was delicious, and their selection of cocktails and beers was fantastic! Would highly recommend!

Ordered the food here online. I Specially requested for the chefs not to add peppers on one of the orders of curry nachos. For the other order of nachos I requested for no peppers and tomato. When the food arrived both orders of nachos had peppers and tomatoes all over them. The chefs should be reading the instructions on every order. This has happened multiple times now and it s out of hand.

First time here St Patrick s day. Place was packed! They went out of their way to make room for 7 of us ( my elderly parents, my 4 young adult children and myself) so we could sit and eat. Service was AMAZING! Food was fast and delicious. Live music fantastic. They gave my elderly father a free green shirt and totally made his day! Will defiantly be back !!!

Music is great but unfortunately I experienced blatant attitude and racism by the server and bartender. I pour electrolytes in my alcohol drinks and a female server came up to me with a lot of attitude asking me where I got my drink. It s worth mentioning that I had been by the bar ordering drinks all night + tipping. I told her it s electrolytes and she still went on the accuse me of sneaking in a drink. It s fine to ask me a question but her tone and attitude was disgusting. It wasn t until i showed her my bottle of electrolytes that she left me alone. I wasn t the only one with a blue drink as I gave some to my friend as well but she only targeted me; the only middle eastern woman in the bar. It was classless and offensive. Never setting foot there again.

Met 3 friends for lunch. The service and food were outstanding. As soon as each of us arrived we were greeted and asked if they could bring us a drink to start. As there were no tables available, we sat in a booth, but told our server if a table became available wed like to move. They kept watch and soon we were changing seats. Our food was delivered impressively fast. Everything was hot, & it looked & tasted delicious - 2 stir fries, a grilled cheese & Eggs benny. I highly recommended OV & look forward to going back.

Experience a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional pub at Olde Village Free House. However, dont expect typical pub fare; the menu offers a unique twist. For instance, the chicken pot pie features more of a curry filling than your regular creamy white gravy and is topped with puff pastry instead of a traditional crust. The Butter Chicken is flavorful and well-spiced, although it would benefit from a side of plain yogurt for balance. The stuffed mushrooms are particularly noteworthy; they are substantial and far from the standard button mushroom caps. Overall, while I would definitely return, I might explore different menu options next time, except for the stuffed mushrooms, which are worth returning for on their own.

I booked this restaurant in advance and asked for a cozy table. When we arrived, they had placed the four of us at a high top booth. It was so uncomfortable because our feet were dangling. I asked the server if we could move tables and she was so sweet and put us at a table in the front right by the windows. Better seat yes, but it was freezing cold. I saw a few tables in the centre of the restaurant that would have been so much better, but they were already booked. The food was superb! Two people had the chicken curry and it was fabulous. Another had the chicen stir fry, which was also amazing. I was deciding between the beef dip and the spagetti and meatballs and ended up choosing the spagetti. Surprisingly, it was a little spicy and I do not enjoy spicy foods at all. The sauce was a little thin and the meatballs were just okay. I wish I would have ordered the beef dip. We had the blueberry lemon cheesecake for dessert (the owners wife makes them herself) and they were lovely! So, all in all, it was a great place to dine......but the seating was a big factor because we were quite cold, so it made it hard to enjoy! We will definitely be coming back..........I will just make sure to reserve a specific table. The service was awesome. The ladies that took care of us were top notch for sure. Parking: You are only able to park on one side of the street. We lucked out and found a spot that someone was just pulling out of. Otherwise, there are two parking lots nearby.

I ordered the Yorkshire Dippers as an app, and the Breaded Chicken Cesar Wrap as my main. Dont recommend the yorkshires, they werent very good in my opinion & I didnt like the gravy it came with, BUT the chicken wrap was the best Ive ever had! I will definitely go back here for the wrap alone! Had to come back to mention the french onion soup that my friend ordered - OUTSTANDING!! Super delicious and flavourful.

I came here with a group of friends on Saint Patricks Day and I ordered the Veggie Burger and a pint of Molson Canadian with the green dye. The food and service was exceptional and it was a very great experience.

Where to start? Dirty coffee mugs, raw eggs, the staff making fun of the diners outside. Needless to say, we will not be returning. The waiter was nice and didn t charge us at all. I appreciated that.

Ambience is good! We ordered French Onion Soup and Veggie Pizza both were okay okay.

Headed her Saturday night for live music and some drinks. Really fun environment, and the band that night was quite good as well. Small dancing area and lots of overcrowding, so it took some fun out for us since we were consistently getting bumped and pushed every minute. I would go back if we had a table we could mingle around and get some space to move. Overall, it is a fun place to have drinks and listen to live music.

Every breakfast place should strive to emulate the affordable quality breakfast and atmosphere this gem offers. We had incredibly strong service from Danielle. We really appreciated the thoughtful suggestions and timely stops to the table. Our coffees were always hot and the food was served quickly and still steaming hot. Thanks Danielle!

We were there for lunch after a wine tour at the Holland Marsh wineries. Hubby and I shared a flat bread and it didnt seem cooked enough. Bottom was super soggy. Our friends had the beef dip and werent overly impressed. The bathroom was quite dirty, but the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Wouldnt go back.

It was busy and loud, but that was exactly as expected for an energetic pub on a Friday night in downtown Newmarket. The food was good and there was lots to choose from (try the poppers). Prices are relative to the experience and location.

This is the most happening bar in York region. There is always something going on. The energy is great the people are fun and the food is great. Al is the consummate host, and an icon in the community.

Surprising really good! The deconstruct pot pie was delicious and chicken Cesar was fresh, evenly dressed and freshly cooked chicken. YUM

Everything is very mediocre about this place. I had chicken wings here that were so juicy and tender. Would definitely try them again. I think their space could be maintained a bit better and kept more cleaner.

Ive been there also just before the Covid situation started. I was there then with a party of 14 people, and they were able to accommodate us all fantastically. Take in mind that reservations of a group so large should be booked. I even booked for this present time as this is a very popular establishment. What a gem! Old Main Street Newmarket. Great for breakfast (all day) Olde Village Breakfast Special is a great deal. Go for weekend brunch and more. Full bar service. Very good value, well priced, large portions, very good service. The place filled right up, favourite of the local population it seems. Lots of TVs. Always reccomended. Im going back.

we love the OV. food is always a hit, they never miss on the drinks!! mozzarella triangles and jalepeno poppers are to die for. get extra dill dip, for anything on the menu they should get a few extra sets of darts so people can play darts when they want to!

The food was very tasty, good-sized portions. Our server was nice and polite but made a few mistakes chalked up to being lazy? Who knows. All in all, I loved the atmosphere, very suitable to the name.

Servers were wonderful. Food was horrendous. Ordered nachos and Yorkshire dippers. Both were over done. Yorkshire dippers were burnt and crispy not soft. My mom choked on it and couldnt eat it. Nachos were so over done that the cheese was non existent. Cheese was baked dry. Barely any toppings on them. Had appetizers once before here and same results. Over cooked and burnt.

Went in for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Good portion. My poached eggs were done the way I asked (Medium) and reasonable prices. The servicer we had was a lovely girl. Will return.

Hands down best food in Newmarket. Food is super tasty as you would expect food from a pub but healthy too. I have a sensitive stomach and often feel bad after eating out, but never had an issue from OVFH s food. Do you like steak? Don t waste your money at the keg, OVFH is so much better. Service is awesome, Daniel she is just great. Every time we are there is the same ppl, they are consistent with their service and food which is not easy task to pull off now-days. We order to pick up today, we were tired and did not want to go out, we live close to them, we enjoyed a 5 stars meal at home at the end of the week and felt compelled to tell everyone that passes through here to know about them. Good job guys and happy Christmas

The food was great and the service was good! Best part is the restaurant is dog friendly.. We ordered steak sandwich and a rack of lamb in mint sauce both the dishes were awesome.. The steak and lamb were cooked perfectly, just the way we like it. The meat quality was excellent. Wed definitely come back to try the other dishes... Im giving it 4.8 star because the rack of lamb is a bit small for the price we paid.

Went out for a late dinner with a friend here didnt see anything on the menu that popped out so just ordered a few appetizers. Calamari and nachos. Nachos were sooo good!!! There was a live band so it was super loud for a small space. Server was very friendly and helpful.

I go there often. The $8 breakfast is my go-to for lunch, 3 eggs, 2 choices of meat (cant get that anywhere), toast and home fries. Amazing. Today I wasnt very hungry and had the pizza rolls appetizer, WOW. Dangerously good. Service is always personable and prompt, just a great Newmarket spot all around.
