Fionn MacCool's in Newmarket

Our company Christmas party was truly unforgettable. Delighted to say Fionn Maccools Newmarket was remarkably organized. Everything was perfectly served on-time for 24 people and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this location to anyone having a large party. Thank you for making it a magical night for us!

Amanda was a great server went above and beyond even made us home made salsa. Drinks came promptly, overall service was amazing!

Dont ever order nachos at this place. They have no idea how to.make them.

The allergy menu is a great thing! Limited selection with certain allergies, but able to find good choices. Great service.

I took some time to reflect on my experience before leaving a review because I was quite disappointed. While our server was certainly friendly, the food was not great, the orders came out at inconsistent times so that one was eating when the other members of the group were basically finished. The kicker on this for me was that there was no information provided by our server that any refills on soft drinks were a duplicate charge. Table of 4, with a few refills came to $28. Seemed ridiculous to be honest. Unfortunately I dont think Ill be back.

I was a Mccoools for luch again today. Joanna known as Jo was the usual always there ,attentive ,smiling running but making it all look so easy that she has always is. Its a pleasure to come here ... for the good food. Nice atmosphere and mostly the positive energy and friendliness of staff .

Fionn MacCools Newmarket location is amazing. Im so sorry to be so late in posting this review, as I went back in June on my birthday. Amanda, the manager, was amazing: she gave me a free drink and dessert without anyone asking (birthday!), and made a specialty drink for my friend and I. There was live music, great food, and the staff was so friendly and went above & beyond. Thank you Amanda, Katelyn, and the rest of the team at Fionn MacCools!

Generally we enjoy coming to this location. The food and service are decent! Beer on tap is great and the drinks are strong!!

Food was good and place is nice but service was extremely slow and they only had 3 more tables. Waiter must have been new he was so lost and tool forever to do anything...

I m so glad that i found a beautiful space for a great meal, everything was so fresh and delicious. We left filled with joy and delicious food. I need to mention joanna was awsome.

Today my fiancé and I went in with some friends, the food was pretty good, we had a little situation and our waitress Mandy handle it very well, as well as what I believe was the manager. I appreciate the good customer service and good food. I would definitely come by again.

The music was too loud for normal conversations to take place, but this is unfortunately typical of most fast food and sports bar atmospheres. We were able to go out onto the patio where it was much quieter and had a great meal and conversation for over 3 hours.

Outdoor seating is very pleasant, sheltered from Leslie Street by nice planters and from the rain with a hardtop canopy. Great place in Newmarket for both outdoor space and great food. Asian Salad with Salmon was delicious!

Had a great dinner here a couple of nights ago on a sunny patio! Angela was our server and treated us amazingly well, was so kind and outgoing. She even made sure I got donuts for my birthday dessert. :) The food was fantastic and there s a lot of solid choice on the menu. Have been here a number of times and will be back again!

Had a tasty, yummy meal it was the bacon cheeseburger, fries and gravy and it was delicious and tasty , great service, so good, recommend this place

Dont go there for the food

Beers were cold, food was great, vibes were high. Went with a group of friends and our young kids. The staff took great care and really were attentive to the kids. Highly recommend. Food : 5/5

The food we ordered was great, very flavourful and came out hot. Service was excellent. I liked that they had a chalkboard set up for the kids to draw on - they were entertained while waiting for their food to come out. Will return.

Food was good, and servers friendly. Friday nights they have live music, which is nice. Fair warning - the music starts earlier in evening, so if you are looking for a place on Friday night to have a conversation over some food and drink, it may not be the best fit (music was excellent and food was good - just hard to hear conversation across table).

Food was pricey and the music was way too loud at dinner time. I m sounding old. Probably because I am. Get off my lawn!

Small portions...high price tag...mediocre food...not going back.

Food was very mediocre, over seasoned, barely warm. The beer was fine and the band was very good, the only saving grace.

Sat in the bar to watch some of the hockey game. No music during the game so you could hear it. Excellent music in between periods - 2 guys on guitar, great songs and good sound level. Apps were delicious and our waitress was awesome.

We visited the Newmarket location on April 13/24. We ordered the pub nachos with chicken and was disappointed. As you can see from the picture, a portion of the food stuck to the paper. We brought this up the waitress and was told this is how head office wants the nachos prepared. We also ordered the golden crispy shrimp and it was not worth $17. The quality of the food was not worth the price. I filled out the contact us form on line for the Newmarket location on April 14/24 and head office a few days later. As of today, no one has contacted me.

I made a reservation for a table for four to celebrate my St. Patrick s Day birthday at an early 6pm time slot for Saturday night. The reservation was accepted and we confirmed with another couple who previously expressed an interest. This was a few days ago. Today I got a call from the establishment today to say they cannot honour the reservation as it is a $40,000 day for them and so they only accept walk ins. I d love to understand the logic in their decision. It reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where Jerry claims they can take the reservation .they just can t keep the reservation !

Went in for a quick bite -- food was just ok, server was great - place is looking pretty worn down - bathrooms were both like a third world country public washroom. I expected more from this place that food used to be so good and place was always so polished.

Always a great experience here - the kids enjoy the live music and actually eat their meals! Food is great and the staff are always wonderful.

Our server Angela was great, she was very friendly and out going. Despite being busy on a random Thursday night, she was clearly not phased by it. Kitchen was pretty fast with our order too with it being a pretty full restaurant. My mom got the steak frite (no idea how to spell it) and she was over the moon with it. Cooked to perfection and she ate every bite! My dad and I shared the fish tacos and the double stacked fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich and onion rings were amazing, the fries were a little over done and the fish tacos had a bit too much coleslaw to fish ratio but all in all pretty good. Great job Angela!

Dishes were expensive for the quanitity of food.

Great service and live music

Always a great place for a pint and a meal

We were there on Friday evening and there was a band playing. The band was excellent however was way to loud. I got a notification from my phone about the DB and the damage it could do. We couldnt even talk while we were there enjoying a drink, some appetizers. I would suggest that they turn down the music a bit and then maybe more would come out and enjoy as they can also enjoy the company they came with.

We were there tonight after a previous take order had gone wrong. They honoured an old letter and made sure we were well taken care of. This is the service we come to expect there and were very happy! Great job! Kid-friendliness: Kids eat free on Sunday

Must have been an off day for the chef - went to this restaurant after seeing rave reviews. Sadly my chicken tenders were hard and overfried. Felt like they may have been several days old.

The food and service are always top notch and the atmosphere on the weekend with live music is always a good time. I would like to extend a shout out to our server Jess who was very attentive and made sure we enjoyed our meal and our time.

One of the best places to go for Vegetarian/Vegan and meat options for a big group. I have had both their Mini Yorkies, and Cajun Salmon Bowls which were delicious. Jade was our server both times, and was amazing at service and a great person to talk to. She remembered our group and was on top of our orders. Cannot recommend this place enough! With the reasonable prices, and variety of menu options its perfect for a group. Vegetarian options: There is a good variety of vegetarian options that are really tasty. The Chicken fingers and Fish tacos were really good from that menu in particular. Parking: In the evenings parking is pretty good for dinner time. There is also businesses nearby that have parking that allows for more spots if its really busy. Kid-friendliness: Families can dine in with the seating. Good layout for every group to have their own experiences with booths.

Meaghan was excellent. She provided amazing service. There were also 4 other ladies that assisted all fantastic!! This was my first time here on date night with my husband. Too loud to meet with friends if you want to talk with them but if you want to come for excellent food and music this is the place. You wont be able to meet up and talk with old friends though on nights they have a live band. The calamari is EXCELLENT Wow vest Ive ever had. Not chewy, not overcooked and dry its a must.

Came in & spent $155 in food , had to ask for a better table & also for eating utensils, tipped the waitress 5$ which she then came back up to me and asked if there was anything wrong with the service & then told me and my girlfriend that its normal that the tip be 18% of your bill . Which wouldve made her tip be %28.90 ! Thats a whole meal ! My girlfriend was upset that she even had the audacity to say that too us . If anything I wouldve tipped the chef a 10 because the food was amazing . Please address her & let her know how unprofessional it was . A young Asian lady named ANGELA who wears glasses .

St Patrick day and the place rocks. The food and options were great. It was crowded and requires advance reservations. The chicken bites, wings, cabbage bites all so tasty and good. Love this place.

I recently visited for a work lunch. Unfortunately, I left quite disappointed, as the food delivered did not meet the expectations one would have based on the photos shared on the menu. As you can see in the photos, the item was about half of the size (or less) of the advertised photo ; I even jokingly stacked the chicken (nuggets) next to each other. Fortunately, it was myself that received the item, and not one of my clients. To avoid potential embarrassment, I would be cautious of bringing colleagues or clients to this location (with the current kitchen staff), until the issue is resolved.

I ve been to Fionn MacCools a few time now and I always enjoy the service. Shannon the bar tender is always on Q and the management team goes above and beyond.

I love that the food here is anything but same ol same ol, from every other pub/bar. The foods exceptional. I had steak and mushroom pie, and I think it may have been the best one Ive had ANYWHERE. The fried calimara is my favorite side app. Again, not like any other place Ive had this. The chunks of calamari are amazing. Cant wait to come again, and sit in the patio for another perfect summery day.

Fun place, with jazz music

Our first time visiting this restaurant but definitely not the last! The service from Shannon was amazing, she was so friendly and helpful. We had the Cajun Salmon Bowl and the Steak and Mushroom Pie at both were so flavourful, beautifully presented and great portions. What a wonderful surprise to have such a great experience when we just expected your run in the mill pub fare. Well definitely be back!

I had been looking for a place up here to hang out and enjoy a nice dinner and I found it! The food was amazing! I had the calamari appetizer and the Cajun Shrimp Fettuccini as an entree - sooo yummy! And large portions too! The service was wonderful, very friendly and attentive, and they have a great patio which is what I was looking for. I don t think there s a bad seat out there. They even offer a place to lounge. One more thing, they don t water down their soft drinks! I ve ordered iced tea in other restaurants and it is served pale and watery. Here, they served it dark and flavourful. Thank you, FM!!

It was mid afternoon when we went there. After the lunch rush staff gets a bit tired. The fish and chips were good as was the chicken Caesar Salad. The fish tacos were far less than stellar. I will be returning though.

Last time we visited here , we had a great time , good Irish pub with good cold beer and we so enjoyed this, Also a great place to watch your favourite sports teams, enjoying a cold one. I have visited many of this chain in Southern Ontario, this is a good one.

Great service but their menu has seriously declined. Not happy that they harass and mistreat their staff at the Wellington Rd location, I wont be witness to that again, Ill never eat here again!

Had a great late night meal here. The Guinness was a beautiful pour and the food was awesome. We enjoyed the nachos and cleaned the plate completely. The Jameson Honey Garlic Bites were very tasty. A nice flavour with a subtle finish. Our server Angela made sure everything was to our liking. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu next time.

Everything from the menus to the table to the bathroom were very dirty. Our server was the only reason we actually stayed. The table was actually so dirty with built up dirt we couldnt when rest our arms on it. The bathroom was gross, including my shoes sticking to the floors. The food was mediocre at best. What a shame as this used to be a good restaurant. Needs to be closed, and either deep cleaned or renovated.

Fish and chips, fish good, fries seemed refried, lots of burnt pieces, small portions. Hamburger goid, again fries same as above.

I recently had a meal at Fionn MacCools in Newmarket and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. Went for an office holiday get together and the it was a great experience. Everyone enjoyed the food and the excellent service from Angela. They also had live band playing that day and it made the evening more enjoyable. Thanks to the manager, Richard who was accommodating with all our menu requests. Would go back there!!

Came in today with a reservation of 8. We were sat in the bar area even though we had kids.. fine....our friends were there already woth drinks, but we waited 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Bar had 2 guys at it, and 2 other tables, so not busy....took forever to take app orders and food....she (bartender) didnt even say anything, would just stand at the end of our table with a pad of paper.. have no idea what her name was because she never spoke. ..the calamari was soooo salty, and I got the jalo grilled cheese...terrible....its a bit of spinach dip smeared on a piece of cheese amd bread...we were starving, so just ate and kept quite. She never even came back once to check on us....not even kidding. We had to pile empty glasses and dishes at the end of the table sonshe knew we were done...I repeatedly had to ask for refills on our beers/drinks....the only time she said a word or smiled was when it was time to pay the bill....of course, because the bill combined was 300$...she was tipped accordingly..didnt even take the kids free dinner off, we had to ask for that also ....Im sure this place has potential, we just had terrible service from her, and for the price of stuff, food should be wayyyyy better....

Hadn t been to Fionn s in a while and was very happy we went back. First off, Amanda, who we always look forward to seeing was there! Love the interior/atmosphere, and a great selection of food - we love the bacon cheeseburger and Cajun salmon bowl. Good wine and beer selection too. Thank you and we ll be back sooner than later next time.

Steak and mushroom stew was delicious

Really nice bar / restaurant. A good menu for drinks - a lot of beer and nice snacks. Can definitely recommend. Friendly staff - we enjoyed our stay. Its possible to sit outside. Parking: A lot of parking spots in front of the restaurant.

The folks at Fionn MacCools Newmarket are always accommodating, and always go out of their way to make our family and friends experience a beautiful time. Love the fish and chips and shepherds pie. Visited our go-to date night place this afternoon after several weeks of enjoying the summer in our backyard. Pleased to find a welcoming from staff and management as though we hadnt missed a day. This is why were regulars, we always feel at home....Great service, apps, and menu but the overall consistency of this Fionn McCools is hard to find elsewhere. We highly recommend Band Nights as the talent is top notch and the atmosphere is lively, very enjoyable. Great to see everyone today!

Fantastic patio that is dog friendly! The staff are always friendly, the food is fresh and consistent. They have live music on the weekends and great place to watch sports. A larger pub/restaurant in the area so you should be able to get a table without a problem. Much larger than the St. Louis down the road

Had Lunch with my mom and friend yesterday. She turned 99 on Sunday and I called to make sure they were open. Richard was very pleasant when speaking to him on the phone and offered her a free dessert even though her birthday passed the day before. Christina took our orders and was very sweet. They made us feel welcomed and had a nice time. thank you and will visit again soon!

I had 11 twelve year olds for a birthday lunch on Saturday. Our waitress was Kristie and she was AMAZING!!! She was kind and funny with the kids. Food all came out at the same time. We could not have asked for a better experience. Definitely recommend!

if you want to wait 70 minutes for food and watch everyone who came in 20 minutes after you get their food before you - and then receive a cold piece of salmon on a bed of rice that tasted like it had sand in it this the place to go. The only reason I gave it two stars because my girlfriends tuna poke bowl was edible

I remember the original, 1-of-1, Fionn so my view maybe a bit jaded. The new menu is very limited; ok I get it -- the whole C19 thing. But if you are going to do that the items better be great. Rather they are passing. The steak & mushroom pie used to be a pie. Now it is stuff the pour in a bowl and nuke ... mmmmm. Nuked frozen food. Really just a very, very mediocre chain.

Went hoping for a birthday steak and Guinness pie, but they were out due to menu changes for the next day. They were out of a few things. The server was pleasant, the place was empty to be honest (late Sunday dinner). Definitely enjoy going there, hope the new menu is good.
