Thai noodle soup is usually my go to when ordering from Thai express. Anytime I order takeout, they always gave me two containers separating the soup and a noodles. This is the first time a restaurant gave me a takeout noodle soup already mixed together. This is a $16 bowl of rice noodle soup, you think the cost would cover the extra container and the appropriate amount of soup it was suppose to come with. Needless to say the noodles absorbed most of the broth by the time I got home and I had a very “dry” soup. I will not be back at this location. Note: I did step out after ordering to buy some goods from Paris Baguette. Maybe the outcome would’ve been different if I stayed and observed the assembly process.
I had a great experience, I ordered 3 pad thais. The staff were super nice and courteous. I have been a fan of their pad Thai since I was in university, that's 10 years ago and so watching the prices spike up for a childhood favourite meal is sad. Nevertheless, food was amazing and my family will attest to that, I got complimentary spring rolls and they were awesome and so I am going back for both! I remember Tommy was super nice and happy to adjust to my numerous instructions. Great food and staff!
Two years ago I ordered food from here and it was okay. But, today I am thoroughly disappointed. The food is over priced, overcooked & over seasoned. Why is a fresh roll wrapped in cling wrap? Surely there must be a more efficient way to pack it up. Also the peanut sauce is way too sweet. The pad Thai is WAY too sweet and there is SO MUCH of what I think is soy sauce? It’s very salty. Also I ordered a root beer and got ginger ale instead. I would have much rather just had a Pepsi or a refund.. I truly don’t know what’s happening here. Poor management.. untrained staff.. I’m not sure. I will never be ordering again.
We ordered two chicken pad Thai bowls and vegetable roll. Only one came in a bowl as you see on the picture but we were charged extra for the bowls. On top of this, they put bathroom paper towels instead of napkins in the bag which was incredibly off-putting. The vegetable roll was saran wrapped. The food itself was fine but it seems like this establishment does not have proper supplies but charges premium for them. Especially as this is a franchise and we have ordered from different locations we know that this is not how their product are served should be of the same across the board.
I’ll start by saying the staff were very polite and professional, but the value for food is nonexistent. $20 for chicken pad thai with a few pieces of chicken, and mostly bean sprouts, is extremely disappointing. This was my first visit to Thai Express and will be my last.
Order the general thai with pineapple. Lucky I got two tiny pieces of pineapple. The chicken looks like you went to burger king and order there nasty chicken nuggets and toss them in your sauce. There were peppers that were just cooked and others that had been cooked before. The rice was the best part with the first cooked veggies. Went at 330pm but still for two meals for $35, thats horrible quality and will not return. What a joke! This is not how the chicken usually looks from other locations.
The shop is clean. The young lady on cash was efficient. I ordered take out. The food was very disappointing. The chicken Pad Thai was almost unrecognizable and quite unappetizing looking. The noodles were more like vermicelli, very starchy, dry and stuck in a clump. There was maybe 8 small, dry, tough pieces of chicken. The entire dish was brown; no healthy colours at all. Flavour was bland at best. The yellow curry with chicken and rice was definitely visually more appealing, however, I doubt there was a quarter cup of curry sauce on the entire dish. After one serving, basically I am left with some dry rice with a bit of chicken and vegetables. The wee bit of yellow curry sauce was tasty. I can’t justify $34 on some dry noodles and a bowl of rice with a bit of chicken and vegetables. I won’t be returning.
The soup tastes like it was over boiled with onions. The onions over powers everything else. The chicken also tasted like it was over boiled which made it very tough. The dumplings were good and the pad Thai was good as always.

Havent been to this location in a while... saw signs saying new management exciting me to check it out. I love thai express and frequently in north york when I lived there. Unfortunately the chicken was stall and hard.... same as the last time I visited this location. Disappointed. They were very nice when I went in despite the low quality of food

As somebody who loves Thai Express, I have been to many of their locations around the GTA. They never disappoint and always have generous portions of tasty pad thai. However, this location was an absolute disappointment. Usually I receive the Pad Thai in your classic Thai express box but this time I received it in a generic plastic take out container with half the usual portion. The Pad Thai itself was horrible, stale, flavour was off and noodles were clumped together. This location embarrasses the Thai Express franchise name. Will never be going to this location again. I truly hope their head office becomes aware and will make the necessary changes so no other customers feel ripped off. Luckily this was not my first experience at a Thai Express or it would have been my last.

Ordered Thai soup tonight. One was chicken and beef. The beef was so tough and by the time I got home half of the broth of the chicken had spilled out because they didnt close the lid properly. Not much flavoring either.

Horribly disappointed on New Years Day! I decided to treat myself since I havent had their pad Thai since 2021. This was my favorite place to get pad thai and imperial rolls. I was pleased to see the server looking for the best, hottest roll under the heat lamp. Nope. When I returned home and looked in the bag, I realized that what I had received was a roll that already had a bite taken out of it. Disgusting. Did that mean my pad Thai was also compromised?? I got back in my car (with the uneaten food), and drove back to the restaurant. The chef insisted that the rolls had been prepared fresh, even though I could recount every action he made, as well as how many people were in the restaurant ahead of me (one was a food service pickup). After uttering the two words health department , a full refund was received. I wont be eating here ever again. One of the reasons this foodie (a.k.a. me) learns new recipes and cooks her own takeout.
The owner is super friendly and knows all the details of his offerings to a T. The food is wonderfully hot and tasty and when you pay for extra meat, you really are getting a healthy amount extra. For a fast food restaurant, the decor is really nice as well. The food was overwhelmingly stale and dry especially the chicken. Absolutely disgusting, very disappointing. The chicken was NO chicken, couldn t stab a fork through it because it was so stale. Never buying from your chain food again.
Unbelievable how stale my food was today after ordering from Uber Eats. I ordered clear shrimp wrap tasted awful. I had to spit it out. Peanut sauce was so gross and unedable. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with Thai Express in Newmarket.
Not good. Ordered Pad Sew- noodles were dry, chicken was dry, and I only got 2 piece of vegetables in my whole dish. They also don t put them in the classic takeout containers, they are using plastic containers.. the only good part was the service, both cash and cook were very nice people.

Yesterday i ordered takeout 2 fried rice and a stir fry at the newmarket thai express.Fried rice was super dry and chicken in the fried rice was so rubbery that my mother stopped eating after two bites..This is the worst experience at a thai express paid freaking 45$ and what a complete waste..disappointed and hangry

The food was so good, and I was in and out in under 5 minutes, with fresh made to order food! Will definitely be going back!
On the past two occassions that we visited this location there have been errots in our orders. On the first instance, they put chicken in my wifes cashew stir fry when she order tofu (and it said tofu on the bill). On the more recent instance we asked for and were charged for extra vegetables in our meals. My wife was charged for extra basil, brocoli, and ginger, and I was charged for extra vegetables. They stirfried all of our vegetables together and then split it into our meals, which makes no sense as i didnt order extra basil or ginger. Further, extra veggies didnt amount to much, as there was no noticeable difference in the quantity of vegetables in my pad see ew. Furthermore, I ordered and paid for chicken in my pad see ew, and there was none present. After the initial incident, we obviously asked for a rdo on my wifes meal, and the staff was courteous enough to add a free meal. After this second try, we will not be returning: poor quality, expensive food, with seemingly confused staff who dont know what to do and make regular mistakes.
Boys working behind the counter were ok, but at 11 in the morning I was served rotten, slimey beef fried rice.. disgusting . Got me refund, will never go back.

I order online to pick up, I added it MILD (NO SPICY), and I can see that on my receipt. When I went back to get a new plate with my receipt in hand and the fried rice, they told me in a very rude way that they cannot do anything to help because it was paid online and they can only add a little bit of rice to help with the spicy I ask for a refund and nothing, I ask for a new plate and nothing. Basically, I ended up with a spicy plate that I was not able to eat and no money back!
Always great quality food. I only wish hair nets were used + gloves, but tables always clean. Otherwise I am always happy to get lunch here. Thank you team!

This place is super clean, brand new and very nicely decorated Currently they are giving away this free drink with every order, it s really delicious, if you like bubble tea you ll like it They have a really nice group of staff working I ve never had Thai express but I found the noodle options to be a little dry, so if you like your pad Thai saucy I would ask for a little extra sauce Also ordered the pho, loved it

I ordered Tom yum soup, with chicken when I got it home there was barely any broth over top of the noodles, there were barely any veggies added , this location is extremely skimpy on ingredients, any other Thai express Ive been to that Ive ordered this , it has been full of broth, loaded with veggies etc. I was not impressed and this is my favorite meal on their menu.
I know you are new opening branch & friendly service, I dont want to give low star but I cant. I ordered with add-on & I paid extra for that but you didnt add any extra. Also you fried the Pad & bean-sprout were still medium rare. You need more experience in food service.
Should really train the cashier and manager on their menu. They charged me 3.50 for a drink combo and told me there is no drink with it. After spending 3 mins pointing it out to them on their own menu, the cashier haphazardly puts a drink together with the lid loose and it spills all over me. Not a single apology from the manager or the cashier. A bystanding worker had to come over and apologize
I love Thai express and I always get it. And was super excited because this new location would be the closest for me. I really didnt wanna have to give 2 star for a new location but unfortunately thats how feel. I got General mango (which comes with a choice of battered chicken or beef) I chose beef, but did a add-on of chicken as well. Normally when I get items with extra protein, other locations usually put it in a bowl container (instead of the paper take out container) because obviously there is extra protein, however here I feel like I paid extra for the extra protein but got cheated on. I even went back when I got to my car just to make sure because it didnt feel right. And the girl said yes I put both. There wasnt any extra instead it just looked that they did half and half of the two proteins. Wont be coming back here.

Warm and friendly atmosphere. I was hesitant to bring my parents there because of the bad reviews (They were wrong). Food was really good and it was quickly prepared. Rather pricey, but the food was good.
Sad to say this is possibly the worst thai food Ive had in my life. General pad thai seasonal speciality was dried up and clearly microwaved, add in it being made upside down according to the picture and it equals absolute trash. Complete waste of money and close to inedible, I ended up cooking something else at home instead. Avoid this place and go to literally any other thai joint for a better experience.

Expensive noodles! The flavours were good, yet little by way of vegetables or protein in it. Would I go again? No, I would look elsewhere, not worth the money for what you get, and had they been more generous with the vegetables and protein in such a little package I would have rated it better.
Have to say I was very disappointed with the food tonight. It was mediocre at best. I should have asked for some spice as it was quite bland. The imperial rolls were mushy with no sauce included. First and last time I am afraid to say.
We enjoyed the opening day take out special. Even though it was busy it appeared every one got their order in a reasonable amount of time according to their place in the queue. The only minor problem was trying to be heard over the noise of sizzling food and exhaust fans when placing my order.

Rice and pad Thai were good. Mango salad was beyond gross though and Tiny for $8. It was mostly brown rotten cabbage with a tiny piece of sliced mango on top. I will try it again however stay away from their salads

One star as I could not do zero! I placed an order via the website after receiving coupons in the mail. First the coupons were not valid even though they were for take out . Upon arriving at the store for my pick up, I was told that I could not use the coupons because I had used the website for the order (same with the app apparently). Then I was told that some of my items were no longer available, but as I had used the website, I would not be refunded for those purchases. I was directed to call customer service. I have now made more than a dozen calls to the customer service and NO ONE has ever answered or responded to voicemail. I finally located someone at the app support line. Several more calls and two weeks have gone by with no action by Thai Express. I calculated they overcharged me by more than $30 between the missing items and the coupons. No apology. No refund. No returned calls. The food was mediocre at best but their business practices stink! Do not deal with this chain.
Nice and cleaning environment to eat. I ordered chicken curry. Chicken breast little over cooked. Favor of Thai curry is very mild. Maybe rice from bottom of the rice cooker, some rice is hard and dry. Have to pickup and remove them. Friendly customer service.
Went for a quick lunch. Quality ranged from good to poor, and it took almost 10 minutes after the first dish was served to get the second dish. Good thing we were almost the only ones there.

As far as what we tried, the food is not good and cheap portions for the price point. The pad thai was bland and mushy. The curry had a small amount of sauce and I was also annoyed considering I ordered the red curry based on the vegtables they state are in it on the website (because they are supposed to be different veggies based on the curry flavour) but it came with different veggies and no bamboo shoots as advertised. The curry flavour was mediocre and the vegetables tasted slighty dirty. The rice paper wraps are wrapped in saran wrap which sticks to the paper and tear apart when unwrapping no matter how careful you try. Only good item I would recommend are the steamed dumplings with a good sauce. Not willing to pay the price to give this chain a second chance.

14 dollars for a box of food the size of a rubix cube. Had the red curry which was supposed to be spicy. There was little to no spice and the chicken was bland. Save your money and go to a proper Thai restaurant.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! There quality has dropped so much. My pregnant wife ordered a chicken dish and the chicken was HORRIBLE. Probably months old left in the freezer. It was unedible and made her puke. I do not recommend this place. It was so bad, I didnt want anything to do with them so I didnt complain. Judge for yourself.

I ordered through Uber Eats and was very disappointed with what I got. Although the portion size was good my Thai chicken fried rice was dry and the chicken was rubbery and well done. The only thing I could taste was basil and I ordered not spicy and it was quite spicy. I thought the banana cake I ordered would make up for the unpleasant rice dish but it was very small, extremely dry and had absolutely no banana flavour. I would not recommend eating here.
