A&W Restaurant in Niagara Falls

I drove all the way down here from Ohio after my friend told me about the French onion double cheese burger just to try it since I dont have a restaurant like this near me. I have wasted gas and gained mileage as well as wasted my time completely driving down here to just be told its not being served anymore although its advertised. This is false advertisement and I am completely unhappy with this outcome. The girl at the counter named Tiara was more than helpful, understanding and apologetic towards us. She is the only reason this trip was enjoyable at this point. Otherwise I am unhappy with the fact that this restaurant is falsley advertising this burger.

Really rude. I came in and asked if they were still open. Server looked me in the eye while I ordered and then turned around and started cleaning. Didnt acknowledge that she heard me or enter my order into the computer. Just really rude. She could have just said she was closing ....

Outrageous behaviour from the staff. Went in to order food and the person at the till acknowledged that we could order and then proceeded to ignore us ordering. Rude.

Sean, the GM, was friendly, polite and very professional. He was the only employing working and was the cook, cashier and the GM and he did it all with a smile on his face! Our rootbeer floats and ice cream sundaes were amazing! Thank you for your work ethic and smile, Sean! You should definitely get a raise!

Some of the worst food in the area that Ive ever had. Chicken tenders were like rubber, terrible. French fries are cold, they were out of onion rings, and had none of their homemade sauces. What a $60 disappointment.

Worst experience close at 1:00 am and they didn t let me and my family order food because it was closed at 10:22 pm sad such a good place with bad customer service and workers

Horrible customer service. Didn t even get to try the food. Turned us away at 10:30pm saying they weren t taking anymore orders even though their open sign was on and Google Hours show open until 1am. She ignored me when I suggested she should turn her open sign off if she s not open. Employees just really don t care. The place was dirty and not well kept. Even the no parking signs are handwritten on paper taped to the building. It s just a dump. Also, watch out for the homeless in their parking lot if going at night. They should probably do something to help clean that up and get rid of the old clothes and shoes that you have to walk over on the way in.

Tiara was amazing! Professional, respectful, and smiling. I had a military shirt on and she asked if we(wife and I) were military and then offered the A&W military discount as well. Wonderful employee!

Good burgers

Came here Last Week Saturday! Cheese Curds were amazing, fries and the ice cream too would visit again when crossing the border.

The hamburgers are actually really good root beer float always one of a kind and they were open late Parking: The parking lot was very small maybe seven vehicles

Was in the area on a vacation on Oct 17-20th, 2004. I came in on two mornings around 10ish. Great food and service. Guy in the back was by himself for a little while but still served with a smile and quiet quickness. Dude obviously works hard. Clean place and convenient location.

food is good if you get it hot. took 30 minutes for two burgers and an order of onion rings. onion rings were fresh and burgers had been sitting lmfao ridiculous. music is blasting too, you can barely hear the cashier because of how loud the speakers are playing.

We went to A&W because we were familiar with the chain and have always enjoyed it. We had a bad experience. All the menu items were not available on the kiosk. So we ordered at the counter and found several items were unavailable. Cheese curds and mozzaburger. After we completed our order we waited quite awhile. When the order came we were missing two drinks and the specialty sandwich which was not on the kiosk was not the correct one. The food was not the quality we were accustomed to. In addition the servers were on phones and seemed annoyed at us when we asked for our drinks and asked for the correct sandwich. It s too bad because we were anticipating greatness and ended up with meh.

Here in town on vacation, only 1 cook on staff. the whole restaurant was packed but they served us with a smile and the food was delicious! i love to see hard working people do their jobs well!

It was pretty decent, self serve kiosks, and one of the only few USA Niagara restaurants that don t smell like curry. Parking: There is no parking lot for A&W. Be careful where you park around USA Niagara!!

Fun atsmophere and friendly staff. The dining room has different options to place customer orders. Menu kiosks or counter service. They bring the food to your tables and even bring out your milkshakes and other drink orders prior to your food order being ready. Same great taste as always with an updated and consumer efficient ordering options allowing for all ages to now enjoy a almost forgotten part of American Fast Food history... I would recommend this to all rootbeer and burger fans.

Service was slow. Fruit punch was flowing from lemonade dispenser. The server told me they must have switched and promised to look at it. Then she went in and started doing something else. Thats a lie on face. Food was standard good.

Literally 5 parking spots, lobby and tables are all covered in trash and dirty, combative staff when I was given an incorrect order and went to inquire about it. Ended up packing our food up and leaving. Will be sticking to the Canadian locations from now on as the quality of this one is seriously lacking. Corporate needs to look inti who it is they have working at the front counter, and maybe teach them all how to take orders.

I came into the restaurant around 8:30 tonight, there was a group of very nasty customers and i just wanna say i admire the chef, coworkers, those who where able to take the situation accordingly and allow me and my daughter to enjoy our male. Despite being called out of their names, discrimination, all harrasing speech, the workers took the situation so nicely and i just wanna say i appreciate the workers management whoever it may have been, for having this strong supportive comfottable organization! ps the food was great!

Not the A&W I remember. Overcooked hot dogs and so-so fries. Onion rings good but the root beer was out of a serve yourself fountain. Could have been rootbeer from anywhere. The old A&W is gone. It used to be so good, so flavorful. This was boring, boring, boring rootbeer. Slow slow service and expensive.

My boyfriend went to get mountain dew and there was fruit flies or nats that was in the mountain dew or his cup. Asked for a refund on our 45$ meal for 3 and nothing and didnt speak to a manager as there wasnt one to talk to as they left. And sat there for a good 20 mins or so and still no one to talk to. Never again will I go there. Also the ice machine cover looked dirty also. Wish I would have gotten a picture

Overall a good experience. The ice-cream we ordered had so much topping on it that it was a little hard to eat, but everything tasted good. Wheelchair accessibility: Has wheelchair accessible tables.

Beware, they only serve fountain A&W root beer from syrup. NOT MADE IN HOUSE. I had a pretty far drive to try their famous in-house made root beer, served in a supposed frothy glass mug. I was disappointed when I was given the McDonalds experience with an empty cardboard cup for me to pour from a fountain drink where I can clearly see the syrup and water mixing. I wasnt even allowed to buy a glass souvenir mug without being nexted. To top it off, the drink tasted like carbonated water and was very light in color.

Having never been to an AW it was a cool fast food place. They got a complicated order for 7 people correct so that deserves some nods!

My husband and I had a great experience here. The staff was very nice and friendly. We are from out of town and our car broke down near A&W. They let us use their parking lot while we waited for a two. Sean and Bryana were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome during our stressful situation. My husband and I ordered chicken sliders and fries. It taste very fresh and good. I would also like to prop out Sean for going above and beyond and looking under the hood of our car, offering advice and sharing places we could go for help with his mechanic background. It is rare to find such customer service these days. We didnt even feel like customers, they treated us like friends. Thank you A&W staff on Rainbow street. When we come back to NY to see the Niagara Falls, we will be sure to eat there!

Foods great. A lot of the people who work there english is not their first language but theyre all super sweet, but because its location, the price is higher and the diners are mostly tourists and are absolutely rude. Hate going during the summer season.

They were extremely busy and there werent that many workers, but they were tirelessly making sure everyone had what they needed. The woman at the counter was helping multiple people and apologized to us for the wait when we got up, and honestly she didnt need to because we could see she was doing her best. Some customers were being a bit rude, but the workers were the nicest people. We ended up having something wrong with our order and they took the time to fix it for us and went above and beyond. This is a busy location for obvious reasons, but the workers here are legit amazing and deserve more than whatever theyre paid. They even let me pick the soda for the float I got. 10/10

A quick stop after the maid of the mist... my kids new favorite restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing, shakes, and hot dog. Sean was absolutely amazing and so nice as soon as we walked in. My kids say he is the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time)

My wife and I tried to go yesterday to have a root beer float and they were out of root beer. Today when we tried to get one they had no ice cream hours before they closed. I guess we can try again tomorrow.

They were changing shift so no one wanted to take our order and there was a mistake in the order but no one seemed bothered. Taste was good though, and so was the location.

I ve been waiting for this chain to come to Buffalo for quite some time. I used to visit the locations in Canada, and I went to several A&W s across America, wherever I could find them, and usually when I was in an area with one. I enjoy the solo A&W s more than the locations combined to another restaurant, like Long John Silver s. The solo A&W s have food that tastes much better than the combo locations, which share a fryer between restaurants (among other things). Common complaints of the combo locations from other guests include that the fries taste like fish. Eww I considered A&W Cortland to be my favorite drive-in restaurant experience, but it s so far away from me, and it s in an area where there s nothing else to do (besides an indoor waterpark being nearby there). So when I heard that A&W would be coming 30 minutes away from me, I was ecstatic! And on top of that, it s a solo A&W, too! I tried it, and the food tastes pretty good. The floats also impressed me here. The floats are on the same level as Cortland s floats. You NEED to try this root beer float. It s unlike any float you ve ever had. Unfortunately, there are three main downsides to this specific location. First being parking. Their parking lot is EXTREMELY small, and can only fit five or so cars. The other cars need to find street parking, which is pretty tough in this area of the Falls. The second is that this location is dine-in only. If you want to-go, you need to pick up a bag of food by walking inside the place. No drive-thru, and NO DRIVE-IN SECTION, like what Sonic has. Let alone like what A&W Cortland has. The third is a biggie. The prices for fast food are simply expensive and overinflated. It costs about 50 cents to make all of the ingredients for a single coney cheese dog. So why are they charging $12-$15 for a combo? Let alone all of the upcharges customers can incur for extra sauces, extra ingredients, upgrade from a normal drink to a float I m shocked to say that Red Top Hot Dogs in Hamburg may be cheaper than A&W Niagara Falls. That s quite an accomplishment. Red Top is well known for wanting to charge you an arm, a leg, and a spare $100 bill to feed your group. I m also shocked that no other review before me has mentioned this glaring issue with this location. Take a look at the prices in my pictures down below and prepare to have your jaw drop. I understand where they located is mostly a tourist trap, but come on, guys. You re fast food. You re near-equivalent to McDonald s. Heck, you even have a Big Mac ripoff on your own menu, called the Papa Burger. This is especially frustrating, since I know that the same franchise owner also owns the A&W location in Cortland, and the prices are MUCH more reasonable at that location. (I still mourn the loss of the tastilicious fried Chubby Chicken at A&W Cortland, by the way. I went to this location on opening day and the owner himself told me that he needed to take it off the menu for menu simplification. ) Everyone should go here for a root beer float. Some people should go here to enjoy the tasty food. NO one should go here for a meal that they think they can reasonably afford.

Food was good, however I grew up with an A & W down the road from our house and the root beer was ALWAYS served in a frosted mug, but not here! Paper cup was given to us to pour our own. Also I tried to order a burger with mushrooms but didnt want the onions due to health problems with onions, but they refused to take the onions off! I was tempted to order it anyway and leave the onions on our table, but I was raised better than that needless to say, unfortunately, we will not be going there again!

It wasnt the best or worst a&w but it could use some work. Brought the kids meal 10-15 minutes after the other meals were brought out and with none of the usual kids menu items.

First time at an A&W, it was an unexpected delight, the inside was clean and comfortable, service was friendly, food was really good and reasonably priced. Parking lot is relatively small but it looked like construction was being done somewhere as it was windy when we visited and there was construction garbage blowing everywhere and getting inside when customers opened the door but staff really stayed on top of that. We honestly would have never expected to have such a good experience as we did, chilled glasses were an added touch!

Parking is a tiny hole coming inside is eh but my biggest issue is the price. They have their prices much higher than any a&w across multiple states. $18 for a $10 meal. Insane! Thats price gouging at its finest right there

Tasty food served hot and fresh. And they make the root beer in store using cane sugar. Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Not able to handle gluten free. Stopped in there about 6 weeks ago. There were two people working and it got a bit busy because they were the only place open around there at 9pm. I ordered the Papa Burger combo and my friend ordered some fries. We waited about 10 minutes for the food, which was fine because it was hot, fresh and very good. One of the employees came over to check and see how we liked the food, as well. All in all, food was good, employees were friendly, restaurant and bathroom were clean and I will definitely be returning here for another meal.

Place a large takeout order as we wanted to try a bunch of stuff on the menu. Everything was correct and tasted great. Parking: The parking lot directly behind the building is small but we were there at noon on a weekday and could still find a spot. You may have to park on the street near the building, though, during busy times.
