6535 Thorold Stone Rd, Niagara Falls, ON L2J 1B2, Canada
Free parking. Private dining room for group.
Best Indian restaurant in Niagara. Food was so fresh and delicious. They also have party hall for birthday parties and other occasions.
Went there for lunch and found a bug crawling out from my food. They agreed to replace the dish. Due to time constraints, I requested it to go. When I opened the box later, I found the vegetable balls crushed flat, and one was incomplete. That’s the one I had a bite at the restaurant. It was evident they hadn't actually prepared a fresh dish but merely put the old food in a container. Very disappointed
The butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, samosas, Biryani, and naan were amazing. Best Indian food we've had in Niagara combined with fair prices and excellent service. Would definitely recommend you try it for dine in or takeout!
The cheap and best restaurant in Niagara falls only 5 kms from skywheel. Better than Virsa and Guru which are expensive as compared and has inferior food quality and taste.... Must try. Check review on Instagram Rajeshwar_soni1...
Probably more a 3.75 if I’m accurate. I had butter chicken platter - was great that it included naan and rice but there was just a boatload more sauce than chicken in it. Usually that’s not bad, but the sauce was kinda grainy. Just not my favorite. But the garlic / butter naan was great and the plating was a treat.
The food was so good! Especially after a cold windy day. The tadka dal was so hot & tasted homemade. The paneer was so flavorful and soft! And the corn & peas dish was so good wnd different!
Update, I have been back several times now and it has always been Great flavor and great food, Friendly staff. Definitely going back. Tried the Reshmi Kabob and it was so full of flavor and delicious, great add on to any meal. Turn up volume on the video, just that sound alone is devine. Enjoy if you go.
New Indian restaurant in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Owned by the same Chef Pankaj/team behind “Chef of India”. Limited menu options but everything tastes great. The decor is a bit weird (run down) as it appears an old motel/restaurant but the facilities are clean and the staff is courteous. There’s ample parking for guests and it is away from the hustle/bustle of downtown Niagara Falls area for a relaxing lunch/dinner. Highly recommend that you try this place once. The prices are up-to-mark for a touristy place and the taste will make up for it!
Very delicious food!
Amazing food Great customer service, spacious ambiance- must visit place in Niagara for Indian food
Best Indian food in town.
Had a lovely lunch here. Very friendly courteous staff. The freshest Naan and delicious comforting dishes.
A hidden gem. Excellent food and friendly staff
The food here is absolutely AMAZING. Samosa(10/10), paneer butter masala(10/10), butter chicken(10/10), tandoori shrimp platter(10/10), garlic shrimp skillet(10/10)chicken biryani(10/10). SERIOUSLY...all.amazing...and the garlic Naan??? Dynamite! Only thing lacking is atmosphere, a little lacking BUT, the food makes up for ALL OF IT! Will definitely be back 100x more!!
Jal Mahal is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic North Indian cuisine! The real star of the show, though, is undoubtedly the food. Their Chicken Khurchan is a must-try. The naan here is the perfect accompaniment, ideal for scooping up the delicious sauces and making every bite a delight. I keep returning for the food, and each visit never disappoints. If youre looking for a spot that prioritizes flavor and quality, Jal Mahal is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Stop wearing your apron outside, aprons are only for the kitchen.
We tried the Veg, non veg platters and the chicken biryani.. No regrets at all. Loved the food and service.
Best Dal makhani I ever had in Canada
Fresh food and tasty Recommend Food
Too much testy food specially kadai paneer ad garlic naan
Food was both fresh and flavourful. Would definately eat here again.i started with veggie samosa and then had the chicken platter with butter chicken and garlic naan. Topped it off with a mango lassi. All excellent.
Ordered mutton biryani, although the meat was well done but overall the biryani as described In my opinion didnt meet its mark, I was absolutely not happy I felt as if it was stale.
Authentic food taste I would prefer a pinch of less salt. Chicken kadai was nice Thank God. No artificial colors. On time delivery.
Biryani tasted horrible
We had a butter chicken plate, a lamb plate and a korma plate. All done in special. Absolutely delicious. Fabulously seasoned and cooked. Beautiful naan. Large portions, very fair price, and lovely service. No hesitation to recommend the restaurant. Very clean inside as well.
Delicious food
We ve had take-out several times on the recommendation of two co-workers. They have the best Indian food we ve had anywhere besides their companion location, Chef of India. The dishes we ve liked the most so far is the chicken biryani (a must!), chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken (ordered medium heat but would go hot next time since we like spicy food), and definitely garlic butter naan (order 1 per 2 people). We had the lamb skewers but weren t as big on those so will try another one of their lamb dishes. One main dish per person is a good rule of thumb with an appetizer or side.
Great hospitality from Sudhir, Krishna and Subhabrata!!
Very high quality food, very friendly staff and great environment to spend time.
After looking thru their online menu; I Ordered from here for the first time this evening. Per their online menu posted: Paneer Pakora - $6 Butter chicken- $15 Chicken Biryani - $14 The women answering the phone to take the order rushed my call, despite me trying to ask a question related to dietary allergies. Polite interaction from the man at the cash when I went in to pick up my order - UNTIL - I looked at the receipt. This showed the Paneer Pakora at $9. I said their website shows the price at $6. He said to show him. I pulled up their website and online menu on my phone where it clearly states the price of the Paneer Pakora at $6. He said that was the old price. Showed me a take out menu that was on their counter that has the new, updated printed price at $9. I advised, they should be honoring the online price. He went to the back to speak to the manager. He came out and said, the price is $9. I said, you should be honoring the price from your online menu. As a customer, thats not my issue your website has the old price. His resolution was to say, they would be updating the online menu price. Nothing offered to appease their customer. I removed the Pakoras from my order. The matter of dispute at that point wasnt even the $3 difference in price, yet sheer principal of where is the courtesy gone for customers in todays service industry if valuing their business and wanting to offer a pleasant experience. The chicken biryani and the butter chicken were delicious and extremely flavorful, HOWEVER, as a first time experience, cant say I would go back! A simple gesture of honoring your online pricing, could have saved a customer and prevented a negative experience and review.
Delicious food, Navjot was good, polite, most importantly free parking
The cooks cut the grass out front in uniform. Its pretty pathetic for an owner to expect a cook to be responsible for lawn care.
Amazing food, will be back and I will bring people!
Samosas are over priced if price is little less they ll be selling a lot other than that very good
The food was tasty we got fast service, friendly staff, big portions, clean, and reasonable price.
Jal Mahal in Niagara offers an exquisite culinary journey through the flavors of India, serving up a delightful array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. From the moment you step in, youre greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Each dish is crafted with care, bursting with authentic spices and fresh ingredients that transport your taste buds to the streets of India. The taste is simply unparalleled; its as if theyve infused each dish with the rich essence of khada masala, elevating the flavors to new heights. The butter naan, in particular, was a standout so fresh and pillowy, it instantly reminded me of the ones back in India. Whether youre indulging in the fragrant biryanis, creamy butter chicken, or the aromatic vegetarian curries, every bite is a celebration of rich flavors and culinary mastery. With impeccable service and a menu that caters to every palate, Jal Mahal earns a well-deserved five-star rating for its exceptional food and dining experience.
It is the best Indian food I have eaten, and the service is fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you are craving Indian Food; even the kids loved it.
Got a first aid bandage in a panner subji. NO MORE chef of India (change your name and take MY India name out from your restaurant, India ka name duba raha he) and quantity and quality is big 0. Small BOWL of curry! thats your quantity, not even enough to feed even 1 person, price is too high compare to your quantity and also cheap quality. BIG HIGHWAY ROBBER and when we ask nicely is that your quantity? he is arguing and shouting back on customer.
First time there, ordered a butter chicken, chicken biryani and samosas and food was fantastic. Great flavor. If youre in the falls area, Id recommend. Going back to try more!
Oh my goodness this place was fabulous! Our family of 4 got takeout, it was incredible. Appropriately spiced for a spectrum of levels, vindaloo was exquisitely spiced! Naan was pull apart cloud like heaven. Plump shrimp and paneer was beautifully seasoned. Chutneys to die for. This was worth our 3 hour travel today. Will be our new go to when in town. And it was hot and fresh and on time! Thank you for a beautiful meal! Vegetarian options: So many!!! Vegan and veg. Our meat eating friends had lots of options and so did we!
I m thoroughly convinced these are fake reviews! The reshmi kabob was so rubbery and tasteless, the portions for the kabob, chicken tikka and haryali chicken were laughable. I was convinced they were pranking us. First and last time going here. The inside is hideous too.
We were in Niagara Falls on some family matters, and we decided to take a break from our usual pizza meals while there. We did not expect to find some of the best Indian food weve had in this modest restaurant on Thorold Stone Road. But we did. Wow, what a delight! Careful, attentive service, an interesting menu including some dishes wed not heard of before, and absolutely delicious food! We loved it so much, we returned a week later when we were back in Niagara Falls. Jal Mahal will be on our list of places to eat while in town.
Phenomenal Indian food. True authentic cuisine, it is the best I ve ever had!
What a gem!!superb food, great taste..!!
Literally, the best food I have ever had! The flavour is unbelievable. We ve tried the butter chicken, chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala, Lamb vindaloo and the garlic naan, it s all amazing. I literally crave this food all the time. Hands-down, the best Indian Food I ve ever had!! You need to try this place!! We even got my parents hooked so when they come to town for a visit, they take it home with them for dinner!!
It s always pleasant to receive excellent food with great customer service and that s what the owner of this restaurant with his stuff delivers all the times. Each time we order a different dish together with our favourites and we have the opportunity to discover a variety of delicious flavours, I suggest you to do the same because everything the Chef cooks it s worth to try
Very friendly service and delicious food! We had malai kofta and lamb shahi korma with zauk-e-shahi for dessert.
Chef of India was closed for renovation so I took my family to Jal Mahal thinking it would be same as Chef of India. Oh my God, the stale old food, dull and dark ambience, dirty furniture, suffocating dark atmosphere, total embarrassment. Naan were just baked double roti that is not an original naan. Malai kofta was smelly, salt lassi was way too salty as if the yogurt used was old and not fresh. Total run down place needs a complete revamp. I went with an impression that it is a part of chef of India but nope, total embarrassment in front of my relatives who came from India and I kept on bragging about chef of India Dal Makhni. I suffered so much insult that we had to take digestive pills after this meal. I dont think I want to come back after this embarrassment. Restaurant owners should be very serious on how they display their cuisine image in-front of us common people.
We just had the best food we ve ever tasted from our delicious takeout tonight at jal mahal. Flavour texture spice - everything so very delicious. it s unreal!!!!! A dream!!! Do yourself a favour and try it. We ate all vegan dishes Every single one knocked our socks off But make sure you try the peanut masala And the eggplant and the mango salad and the dal e shahi tadka I bet anything off the menu is outstanding My only negative comment is that we unfortunately didn t receive our masala papadums Will definitely be going back Vegetarian options: Incredible amount of vegetarian and vegan options Dietary restrictions: They accommodated us so well Parking: We didn t see the lines so we parked poorly Kid-friendliness: There was a kid there!
Was great place
This restaurant is owned by the most experienced chef of India, Chef Pankaj Kumar (ITC Maurya Delhi) The food itself tells the story of the experience the chef has. I tried their most famous Dal Makhani with Butter Roti which was simply the best and had flavours which satisfies the pallet of a North Indian. Thank you for the lovely experience.
I am a local to the Niagara region and this is by far the best Indian food in the area. It is made with love. The spices exquisite, very high quality and delicious. I ordered for take out and had the butter chicken, lamb curry, garlic naan, rice and samosas. This is a nice quiet family restaurant that deserves to be noticed. Absolutely delicious. I will be returning again and again as a forever customer. Try it. You will not be disappointed
Chef Pankaj, the best Indian Chef in town. Brings his experience of Bukhara (Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi) love it.
If you are thinking Indian food tonight, this place will not disappoint! Today at work we ordered Butter chicken, chicken tikka, and chicken Biryani. Everyone loved the dishes. The garlic naan was so fresh. We were all surprised by how big the portions were. Staff was very friendly. We will be back! Updated: Been back 3 times since then. The food quality is very consistent, always great. We have been loving the Chicken Biryani! For $14 you get a huge portion that will have delicious leftovers. And spices/herb pack a flavour punch. The owners are just so nice.
Excellent Indian food- definitely one of the best. We recommend the chicken curry, aloo tikka and lamb biryani. The service was as good as the food.
Terrible kebab portions and extremely spicy. Food taste was not great at all. We ordered over 100 dollars worth of food but was not enough.
Pudina Paratha and palak paneer are my all time favourite combo here, I have had paneer tikka too and turns out (Paneer was so very soft )
My partner & I had fab meals He had lamb special which looked good and he said so too. I had aloo tikki to start followed by chicken curry - med spice, saffron rice, garlic Naan which was nice and thin. Good size portions enough to take home Lovely and charming waitress Uma. Will definitely go back Thank you Jal Mahal
Exceptional quality food with unique combinations of spices and ingredients. Irresistible chicken Tikka masala. In terms of value for money it could be better. They do not offer a proper thali with the spectrum of flavours served in katoris. It was plated all together on a flat oversized plate which didnt appeal to the eye. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to experience superior flavour and depth out of Indian cuisine, however their presentation and value for money needs an overhaul.
I reduced my expectations when I got there and the parking lot was empty with not one customer inside the restaurant for a 4.7 rated place. Clean though dated ambience, fast service but the food? Just okish. Butter chicken was edible but Ive had better. Much better! The Naan was charred and the butter chicken source was too thick. Ill have to convert my leftovers to something else. Definitely not worth the 4.7 rating. Its a 3.5 at best.
Best authentic Indian cuisine in Niagara falls
The service was too good and the food tooo. Its just they dont have much options
Without a doubt, the best Indian cuisine Ive ever had! The butter chicken was rich and flavourful, the lamb vindaloo was spicy and delicious. I could eat the garlic naan by itself, it is THAT good. We waited way too long to try this, and will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!
Service was fast, staff was friendly, and the food was delicious with reasonable prices. The shahi paneer and dal makhani were a hit!
Food was nice but they need so much renovation in restaurant.
Excellent food, we ordered several things and it was all delicous. Officially the best Indian food I have had in the area.
Unexpectedly good quality Indian food for the Niagara region.
Excellent tasting food, definitely will be a top choice of mine
Delicious food and friendly service!
Delicious food!! Great value, glad we live close!
Our Server was very sweet and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, the best Indian food we have had ever. We had the butter chicken, garlic Naan, dal makhani, the shrimp butter masala and the Zafrani Chawal rice, it was all so good. Only concern was the dishes were rather small, not the size you see in a Chinese restaurant.. enough for 2 depending on number of dishes you order. The restaurant was very clean and there was ample parking. If you are coming from out of town, its away from the tourist area and hustle and bustle not far from the qew exit, so its very convenient. Vegetarian options: A number of vegetarian dishes, we had only one. Parking: Very Large parking area. Not wheelchair assessible there are 3 stairs up inside front doors unless there is another door. Kid-friendliness: Child friendly ....quite large dining areas
Delicious! The food is very flavourful and I personally think it s the best Indian restaurant in the Niagara area. Give it a try! I m sure you ll like it. Also, the dishes I had were not spicy, if you re worried about that :)
Delicious! Authentic Indian food. A must try. You won t be disappointed!
Very authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. Friendly staff, Great service and Great prices. My Go To place for Great Indian food.
Amazing Indian food and really friendly service.Thank you Rekha! We will be back soon.
Great food, our go to Indian restaurant in Niagara Falls now. Friendly service and great value. Parking: Plenty of parking
Had a wonderful lunch. My first time trying Indian food and it was DELICIOUS..!!! The waitress helps you navigate the menu and lets you know what the dishes are and how hot they will be etc. I had a shrimp dish with rice and garlic Naan bread. Everything was fresh and amazing..!! This is the old Johns Restaurant so that is why the decor is dated, but its super clean and bright and welcoming. I highly recommend to anyone, and Ill definitely be back..!! Parking: Lots of parking available.
Was searching for some curry for dinner when we found this place. Quite enjoyed our vegetarian curry.
we are local people and should have known better. Empty parking lot and fake reviews. We wanted to believe.
Not a fancy place by any means, just great authentic food, and very affordable.
Most importantly the food was fantastic, one of the best Indian meals ever I ve had. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices.. Parking: Loads of parking space.
Excellent!!! The food was amazing and the best we have ever. Definitely real Indian food. The staff were very attentive to our needs and came to our table frequently to ask if we needed anything else. Definitely a go to for an Indian meal. We will be back!
Food and service is very good but restaurant need lot of improvement in term of cleaning and renovations. My shoes were sticking to floor because of oily floors. furniture was like 50years old and seats were all broken, entrance had opened drywall with glass wool sticking out, lot to list here :). Hopefully they do extensive renovation soon.
very friendly service and great food!
One of the best authentic Indian style food in niagra falls. Must try.
We are stop by when our business trip back to US, stop by this India restaurant, the lamp special are super
Yes! Great Indian food in my hometown! Let s go!
Everything was excellent! The platter special was amazing with butter chicken. Samosas, aloo tikki, and aloo bonda were all delicious.
Prabh and Uma are so friendly. I was amazed by their food Service.
Food quality at this restaurant is the best of all. Must go there to experience the amazing taste and fabulous service. Prabh and Uma was superb.
It was my first visit to an Indian restaurant. Im glad that my first visit was to this restaurant because the Rekha waiter was understanding that I did not know Indian dishes and advised me in detail. She created an atmosphere of comfort and home, Rekha is a very caring person. If such people work in all restaurants like Rekha, the service in Canada will be much higher! Such an employee is needed in every restaurant!
We thoroughly enjoyed the food - friendly and accommodating staff - chef came to introduce herself. Cannot disagree that the decor is outdated, but food is exceptional. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and non-dairy options Parking: Lots of parking
Very tasty food and very friendly staff. Best indian food in Niagara Falls
Good take out food and great customer service
Great service. Best Biryani in Niagara Falls :)
i had recently ordered for a party at home.all there food was amazing specially the kebabs and tikka .good job team
I will start with saying service was very friendly but sadly they were very slow and the food was not promising. Chana Masala was way too spicy for kids and the Briyani was not good. We were very disappointed for the price we paid.
Amazing!! Had the Aloo Tikki, Samosas, and Shabz Pakora to start. All sooooo good. The aloo tikki was my favourite. Had the paneer butter masala as my main with some garlic naan and mango chutney which was to die for. Didn t have the time to try dessert today but will definitely be back soon to try out some more stuff! Service was great, our waitress was super nice and helpful! Can t wait to come back.
The building is dated, but the food was delicious. Good size portions; excellent friendly service!
Staff is friendly but wait time was awful for an empty restaurant. The quality of the food was below average.
Exceptional dining experience. Best Indian Restaurant in Niagara falls in fact I can say only Indian restaurant serves authentic Indian food in Niagara falls. Excellent customer service. Chef knows how to keep guests happy. Must Try: Veg Platter with Kofta Curry
Staff was friendly but service was slow and food was just okay. Not sure how this is above 3 stars.
Hey, Im Andria me and my family have been to this restaurant about 4 times or more. The service was great also the food.
Excellent Vegetarian options: Good Parking: Good Wheelchair accessibility: Good
Our first time at this restaurant and our expectations were exceeded! Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food-we had the Dine In Special with Chana Masala and Paneer Butter Masala! Garlic naan was so fresh and light! Cannot wait to visit again!
From the owners of chef of india. Great food like chef of india. Nicely done restaurant. Very good owner and very polite staff. The best Indian food you can eat in Niagara Falls.
If you want authentic, home cooked Indian food, at an affordable price, Jal Mahal is the place to go. With mother and son in the kitchen, they work their magic and sprinkle love into the food as they prepare the meals from scratch. The garlic butter Naan is baked to perfection, crispy on the outside, tender and chewy on the inside. Their curries are fantastic, spiced to perfection. We saw many locals pick up takeout, so word on the street must be out about their delicious food. But if you want a real deal, dine in for a $12.99 special which gets you fritters, your choice of curry, rice and bread . . . you cant beat the price! The food is prepared fresh and is served piping hot. The restaurant is clean, and very rerto, if you appreciate 60s style diners with a little nostalgia (Im not a believer that it needs updating, it brings back memories and is in good shape). The staff relaxed, friendly and welcoming. We already made plans for our next visit!
Loved to had a dinner at Jal Mahal with my family. The owner herself was on the floor for service & she took care of everything perfectly. 5 for Her
The food was great, the restaurant is in desperate need of a makeover unfortunately.
Recently visited this restaurant and had amazing yummy food.
First time dining had Aloo Gobi. I really enjoyed there take on it. Potatos were nicely cooked without being too dry or chewy . Spiced just right. Definitely going too keep in rotation Parking: Large lot 30+ spots
Nice experience...awesome food....all the staffs had taken care of us really good....worth it
One of the best Indian restaurants in Niagara falls. The food was delicious freshly prepared and the overall vibe was of an old cozy style breakfast place.
There are not many good Indian restaurants in the Niagara Region. This is one of the best we have eaten at in Ontario.
This is one of the best best authentic Indian foods that I have had in Canada in the past 6 years. Among my top 5 in Canada and top 3 in Ontario and top in Niagra region.
You just cant beat the dine in specials here for taste or value. The setting is an old diner but the staff is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! I stop in almost every week!
Delicious food and great service! :)
Very delicious food, polite nature and awesome service. I must recommend everyone to visit here once being in Niagara.
Food very delicious, very nice staff. Recommend must visit. 5 star for food, staff and place.
Great food and staff.
Must try
Best quality service
Food has a delhi flavor, which was good and service was good too
First time there. Food very good, lovely staff. Very few diners, hoping this new restaurant makes a go of it!
Best Indian cuisine in Niagara Falls. Highly recommended. :)
A very clean & decent place to have lunch or dinner at if you want to eat proper Indian meal in Niagara. Must suggested place.
Amazing staff and delicious food. The Cheese Naan and Chicken Tikka Masala is a must try. Parking: About 15 slots
Veg and Non-Veg thali must try!
Great time with good food
The food is very delicious with great quantity and reasonable price.
Enjoyed dinner at this location! Delicious food, great variety and extremely good service. Generous portions which makes it great to share with!
Fantastic food! Will be back. Only thing that could be better is bigger cups of water for the white people so we can handle the spice hahaha
Food was tasty. Veg biriyani is a must try.
very good
Free parking!!!!!!! is one of the perks dine in here. Surprisingly, it is part of Chef of India restaurant. Food was excellent as well as reasonable. Even my Grand mother (She is 85 BTW) loved it. The service was great. Our guest attendant Rekha was generous enough to offer suggestions for soft rotis for my Grandma. Was a pleasure dine in here. I ignored the classic ambiance considering the fact that having great food on the table on time in a tourist place like Niagara is top rated gesture for me.. Vegetarian options: Great quantity and delicious Parking: FREEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hands down my #1 pick since their inauguration. I cannot stress adequately just how TASTY and SATISFYING their food is. My wife and I had our lives transformed by this authentic restaurant, in contrast with more fancier places. I have no personal attachment to this business, I just truly believe this is the best option in the region. As I type this, I crave their Chicken Biryani, paired with a choice of Curry (usually chicken, but my wife loves their Fish Curry), alongside veggie Pakoras and Garlic Naan. Please, if you are reading this, at least give it a try! You might just end up writing a comment like this soon!
Food was great! The restaurant is away from the hustle and bustle of Niagara Falls. The service was fast and we had a great time.
The food was amazing! Such great flavours! The garlic naan bread was to die for. Third time having Indian food and this was the best hands down! Good price points and presentation. Ill definitely be returning thank you for an awesome meal! Food
The good - very nice staff. The bad - the food. Chicken Korma was NOT korma, it tasted, and looked, like a bechamel sauce. Over-priced (e.g $5 tandoori naan)! Very strange dated interior - old 1960s motel and not updated. Also playing English Classical music (Mozart, Bach etc) Its an Indian restaurant but confusing food choices - they are serving Chicken Stroganoff as a lunch special?! I really dont know what to make of this restaurant?!
Palak paneer was perfect
Food is really good. And also the lady who took our order was very nice .service and food both are really good .
Food was really nice
Food was awesome!! Staff were great! The building and decor are dated, but it was clean and well kept. Will definitely go back.
Incredible! Hands down the best Indian cuisine I have had in the niagara region. First time trying this restaurant tonight, typically order from places in St. Catharines. We dined in, the service and the food was absolutely top notch. Friendly and family like atmosphere. I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves higher than a 5 star. Dont judge a book by its cover because this place will more than pleasantly surprise you! Highly recommend the fish pakora with the slightly spicy coriander chutney, to die for!!
Echoing others this is the place! Amazing food, love the dal makhani I think I could live off of that and the garlic naan. Highly recommended!
Wonderful dinner. Large portions. Delicious! Excellent service.
Food is decent but expensive for the taste, portion and location. The interior is very old and you will find a strange smell.
An all-around great experience. I highly recommend if youre looking for amazing Indian cuisine in Niagara.
I could have given billions of stars to the amazing Indian food and in top of that The way they serve and treat you is just Wow. There s no doubt you can just come and enjoy the food and service. If you can feel it s like home. We are Nepalese, We were 5 people came to visit Niagra. We ate rice, chicken curry, and another chicken fried food (I forgot name) . They just welcome you with water in glasses and always are ready to come to you and ask if you need something that makes you re being cared. A good place to spent your good time to kill hunger with great hospitality and taste. Kid-friendliness: Our small 2 year joy enjoyed as there were toys too. Wheelchair accessibility: The best, absolutely amazing!!
Definitely the best Indian Food in Niagara... Vegetarian options: Egg plant was awesome.. Food : 5/5 |
Great food quality and amazing flavour! The service is excellent too and staff is very friendly. Love this place, will definitely be back again.
I love the fact that the current owners haven t changed a thing with the decor! The only thing missing is maybe John s lemon meringue pie!!! Just kidding the portions are perfectly sized and delicious! No room for dessert. Vegetarian options: Lots of choice for vegetarians Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant and have very few restaurants that I can trust 100%. I have eaten here now three times without any cross contamination issues!!! I ll be frequenting this hidden gem from now on!!! Parking: This is the old John s Restaurant on Thorldstone rd. Not a single thing has change accept for the menu and Chef!!! What a wonderful and flavourful surprise!!! Well done!
Excellent service And delicious food. Especially Rekha customer service was awesome .
Very nice Indian cusine !! Especially Rekha ji is very helpful and she is very friendly and welcoming! Would recommend everyone who love to experience Desi Taste!
Did take out with the butter chicken and samosas and it was great. Just the right level of spice and great tasting. Will be back again Food
The food was edible, person serving my father and I we could barely understand her, and she could barely understand us, how is this how a restaurant run , very frustrating, difficult to place an order and to have a conversation with the serving staff, Also my aunt went in one night, she told the staff to take the meal back and cook without the overloading of salt.
Food has been amazing everytime I go. I could eat it everyday
Authentic food, great portions and fair prices. Could use little update inside.
Fantastic food. Large portions.
Ate there for the first time this evening. Service was excellent, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend.
They have the best Indian halal food in Niagara region hands down. I hope they do not change chef and keep the taste same Dietary restrictions: Halal and veg
The food was top notch. Very well prepared. The restaurant interior could use a renovation but it was clean and comfortable inside.
Really nice food. Don t miss their tandoori chicken , it s awesome. The host is really nice and welcoming. Food
Delicious food, great service will definitely go back l highly recommend this place to eat Vegetarian options: Also gobi was delicious
Wonderful service and friendly service
The best Indian food I have ever had hands down! I recommend everyone try it. The prices are really reasonable also. The staff are amazing. No complaints.
Food here is absolutely excellent. Highly recommend
Very gd food and service . This is the place if u want to eat indian food that really tastes like Indian food ..
The service was great, very friendly. And the food was even better. Some of the best Indian food Ive ever had.
One of the best Indian cuisine s i ever tried. Service was great
We had our engagement dinner here for a group of 15-20 people and the service/food was outstanding. The apps came out just as our guests were arriving fresh and ready to go, the wait on dinner after ordering wasn t too long and was nice and hot packed with flavour. Would highly recommend this place for any event/occasion or even a dinner out with the family! Will be returning soon to try other items on the menu as the pricing is insanely good for the quality and quantity you receive.
Honestly a great local restaurant! The service was exceptional, our waitress was so kind and made sure we were good with the spice levels and had water etc. and the food was to die for! Absolutely will be coming back and will recommend to any friends and family !
Hands down some of the best Indian food I ve ever had! Amazing service as well. Definitely will be back.

Most underrated restaurant in the Niagara falls. One the best place, I have tried almost all Indian Restaurants in Niagara fall. Jal mahal had the most delicious food. I tried Paneer Jalfrezi and mouth watering Dal makhni and garlic naan.
We had amazing food at Jal Mahal today. Their service was lovely and the place is nice and cozy. But the best thing about them was their food. I cannot wait to go there again. It will be my spot for every time I visit Niagara Falls from now.
Great food that was served by staff with excellent customer service. Highly recommended .
New Indian restaurant on Thorold stone road. I tried chicken tikka and kabab and both items were fresh and delicious. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and courteous. They have a seating capacity of about 50 people. I will go again!
