4945 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3N5, Canada
Stop by Clifton Hill's signature restaurant for all the homestyle favorites you and your family love. The Clifton Hill Family Restaurant offers affordable, familiar menu options for a variety of diners, big and small, right in the heart of one of the busiest districts in Niagara Falls! Enjoy a full breakfast, lunch or dinner and fuel up for an exciting day at the Falls.
Went yesterday night, Great family restaurant. We did not had food, but we had s’mores hot chocolate and carrot cake. It was so delicious that we decided to order again. The server was also very polite and sweet. I would go there to try food items next time as well! Also, I found the prices very reasonable which this restaurant my top choice as well.
Has lots of vegan options although Vegan poutine gravy tasted a bit weird. But can be given a shot given lots of other places have high waiting time
We were pretty sure it was impossible to get a decent meal in Canada until we wandered in here. The food was fast and delicious, we had the breakfast poutine and a Belgian waffle. Best breakfast in Niagra Falls!!
I wanted a real meal instead of fast food so I stopped in here instead of one of the many franchises on the street, and I was glad I did. The service was great, it has a nice family atmosphere and the signature sandwich was delicious. The large windows let you people-watch to your heart's content, and I lingered for a while sipping my beer and relaxing. This is a great spot for families who need a break from the noise and buzz of Clifton Hill, but still want to be close to the action while they refuel.
IN THIS PLACE THEY ARE RACIST. It is the worst service I have had in Canada. My mother and I were discriminated against by the waitress CARLA. First, she sat us at a table at the back of the restaurant, isolated from everyone else, even though the place was not even half full. We had not even sat down for 5 minutes when she was already demanding that we order our breakfast, but we still had not decided, since we were looking at what was on the menu. My mother asked for a coffee and she served it to her very poorly, and when she refilled it, she served it to her without any care and spilled all the coffee around the cup. And the worst came when, even before we had finished eating and without us having asked for the bill, she arrived with the bill ready and left it on the table. I feel this was a total lack of respect because she didn't know if we wanted to order anything else. She also told us "when you finish you are going to pay at the cashier at the entrance", even though she was not treating anyone else the same as us, but of course, the others were blondes. So, we finished as quickly as we could and got up to pay at the cashier. If you have the opportunity to eat at this restaurant, avoid it, it is the worst place and you will suffer racism and discrimination!
Mediocre at best. If you looking for a breakfast spot then this place is fine but it’s nothing special. The food isn’t amazing but it’s not bad. Service is a bit slow but the restaurant is on the busier side so it’s to be expected. I wouldn’t personally recommend stopping at this place just cause there’s nicer places in the area but I’ve heard that the dinner menu is better so that might be worth it.
Clifton Hill Family Restaurant in Niagara offers a delightful dining experience. Our recent visit left a lasting impression, particularly with their tantalizing omelet. We opted for extra cheese, red onions, and tomatoes, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds. The omelet was perfectly cooked, maintaining a fluffy texture while generously loaded with the chosen toppings. Paired with crispy fries and golden toast, it was a harmonious combination that satisfied both savory and crunchy cravings. The beverage selection was equally impressive, with hot chocolate and coffee stealing the show. The hot chocolate was rich and indulgent, providing a comforting warmth on a chilly day. Meanwhile, the coffee boasted a robust flavor, a perfect accompaniment to the morning feast. The restaurant's ambiance contributed to the overall positive experience. Warm lighting and a welcoming atmosphere enhanced our dining pleasure. The staff's friendly and efficient service added a touch of hospitality that elevated the visit. In conclusion, Clifton Hill Family Restaurant excels in delivering a memorable breakfast experience. From the delectable omelet to the comforting beverages and inviting ambiance, it's a culinary gem in the heart of Niagara.
We stopped for a quick bite at this Clifton Hill’s Family Restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and nice. We only ordered two dishes, the Cobb Salad and a Classic Poutine because we weren’t that hungry. Even though it was a bit pricey but the salad came in a big portion and we enjoyed it very much. Would love it if they can add a bit more cheese to the poutine.
Delicious S more Hot Chocolate in the Winter friendly staff thank you!
RESTAURANT WITHOUT ANYTHING EXTRAORDINARY FROM THE FOOD TO THE SERVICE.
Potato. The chicken tasted as expected, but it seemed to be a problem with the sauce. Beer is like water. I m drunk.
We came here 3 nights in a row, izzy was our server she was great! The food was amazing and very well priced especially for being on clifton hill! Thanks family restaurant we will definitely be back.
Service was okay. The fish & chips were also delicious. The amount of food is a bit large for an average Korean to eat, so I dont think two people would be able to order one dish like long sausage.
We went on vacation in August and wanted a more traditional breakfast. We really liked the Mexican Burrito and the coffee was very good. In addition, Patty attended to us and was the nicest and most attentive person who assisted us during our trip. I would definitely come back to say hello to Patty again! Great service. Thankssss
One of the best options for quick bites after roaming around the amusement! The restaurant is clean and we loved their service.
Don t recommend this place . They serve Cesar salat without chicken. Don t value money at all.
Vintage restaurant from the 90s. The staff is pleasant and the place is very clean. The cuisine is good but not very sophisticated, rather family-style. This is very correct.
Disappointed with both the dishes served...the chicken in bbq meal was totally burnt and the chicken poutene was an absolute let down with just more of fries and very very sour sauce...frankly doesnt even deserve a 1 rating!
I understand because its right on the strip that the prices will be higher, but the food was horrible. $20 for a pressed meat burger is ridiculous. I wouldnt have minded paying that price if at least the hamburger was edible. The fries were good so that helped. The hot dog was big but the flavor combination was not it. Poutine was pretty good. Service was acceptable. Maybe breakfast is better but i dont think Ill be returning.
Spent the afternoon in the hill and wanted a nice family meal. We were seated right away and service was friendly. The ac was far too cold but once we asked, the temperature was adjusted fairly. The kids meal was perfect!! It came out fast and fresh! Our meals on the other hand, terrible! Not worth the price, even if it was reasonable. Food was over cooked and seems reheated from being previously cooked. I m sure this is the best spot for breakfast but I would not be recommending for a dinner meal.
The best vegan poutine I ve had!!! The vegan chicken sandwich is great too!
Great food, calm atmosphere and excellent service The staff in waiting were super attentive and graceful, showing me to my seat immediately and recommending a few dishes, following my request. The burger was juicy and flavor packed 10/10 must try. I had a dietary restriction and the chef made it perfectly to my liking! Love the fact that I can detach myself from all the music and lights for a peaceful and satisfying meal, in the midst of all the carnivalesque energy
Friendly prompt service, a great spot for breakfast with large portions. The staff are attentive and the food arrived quickly after ordering.
Food is awful. Portion of steak so pathetically small and so expensive. Couldnt even finish it Went to a restaurant up the street after Food
Dole Whip
I got breakfast for two people. The other person s order was fine. The real problem came with the breakfast burrito. I got it with no ham and turkey bacon and if you re from the states and don t eat pork, you won t like it 9/10. It looks and tastes like ham and they weren t accommodating about any other solution than I m sorry when I had the other person taste it and they said it also tastes like ham. I m just glad I didn t waste too much money. If you come here just grab potatoes or something, don t waste your time.
Great welcome, good breakfast, eggs Benedict, very good filter coffee
Air-conditioned restaurant, fast service, friendly staff, we had pulled pork burger and beef linguine balls, the fries were good but there werent many, the tomato sauce and the meat was lukewarm, it wasnt bad but nothing exceptional .
It was a great place to get away. A homie feel in the middle of all the hustle. The food was excellent and decently priced for the size of portions. Definitely worth stopping.
Very good experience. Fast and careful service. With smiles. Generous portion
Literally felt like we were dying after going through the falls tour and went to here. We waited half an hour for our food and everyone who walked in after us received their food. We were a party of two and other tables of 3-5 were served their food almost immediately. Dont waste your time
Playing techno music at lunch time so we left. I dont understand why you would play this type of music in a family restaurant at all, let alone in the middle of the day. Staff apparently cant lower or change the music. So if you dont like loud techno music with your lunch, dont go.
I loved the burger I ate, the classic burger, and even if it takes time, its worth the effort to eat there and it comes with fries/I loved the burger I ate, the classic burger, and even if it takes time, its worth the effort to eat there and it comes with fries Vegetarian options: For everything that is meat on the menu there is a vege version/ for everything that is meat there is a vege version
Eat somewhere else, Food is awful!
Went here for convenience and had coupons. Multiple issues, not worth it. Subpar diner food, allergy not respected, watery eggs, burnt sausage with bacon only as replacement. Even with coupons, not recommended.
Ummm just no
This was one of the nicest local restaurants we visited. We enjoyed it so much we had breakfast there every morning. The ladies that waited on us were so nice, always checked on us and we never had to wait for coffee refills. The food was very good, cooked to our specifications, and served hot and fresh. Cudos to those ladies and the cooks! We will be sure to eat there again when we visit again!!
Very good !
excellent food , great service and friendly staff
We waited for long time to be seated no one acknowledged or said I ll be there with you. Finally, we were seated people that were seated after us their order were taken before well we were completely ignored again. The servers picked and choose which table they want to go to. I ve never seen anything like that. A very disrespectful place.
Interesting experience eating at this place. We ordered a portion of Cobb salad and two bacon sandwiches. Services quite fast, 19 minute wait. Bacon in the sandwiches a little overcooked, but the portion of Cobb Salad was good. I also asked for some bread to eat with the salad. They brought me 4 slices of toast then charged me $3.99. Acceptable prices, except for the tip of more than 15 dollars, which brought the cost to 98 dollars with only 3 dishes ordered. Kid-friendliness: Suitable for children.
Although I generally favor supporting local establishments over chain restaurants, I must admit that the quality of the food was comparable to that of our hotels buffet, over cooked. In fact, I believe that a meal at Dennys would have been a more enjoyable experience.
Family and I had a very poor experience having brunch at this restaurant. It was your average breakfast, which is fine. Our own server was great, but when we asked another female server for extra napkins, she went to grab some without saying a word and dropped it off on top of a dirty plate of ours. There was no thank you for coming or anything either, just overall negative experience. Wouldn t recommend unless the staff are in a good mood lol.
Everything was okay until an older white man took our bills and started muttering Pathetic , you should be ashamed of yourselves under his breath - this was around 2:30 pm on June 29th. He did not serve us- he just took our bills. My sister heard him and said say it louder and he started being disrespectful back. We were a south asian family, obviously he would not do this to another family. Really disappointed
The vegan food attracted me. But the service seemed to be hopelessly overwhelmed with a half-full restaurant (most guests had already had their food). When my hot dog (!) and some fries finally arrived after 20 minutes, I couldnt find any similarities between the food and the menu. Weak
Clean, delicious breakfast
While visiting the area, we ate here three times. We have two members of our family that have to eat gluten and dairy free and our servers, Ron and Jacob, were so helpful in accommodating those food allergies.
Just fabulous. What a lovely experience for breakfast. The employees here ate the gem.
One of the best fish and chips for me! I am regularly eating once every visit to Niagara Falls.
Worst experience ever. The waitress should win the worst service ever. We were a party of 10 people. (About 500$ bill) paid in two separate receipts. The waitress kept giving us very bad looks. Messed up many of our items (btw the most expensive in the menu such as few surf and turf and steak meals). She was annoyed and ran toward the kitchen many times when we mention something incorrect in the order, such as missing items! And switching items from tables .. even things as simple as not providing the right sides which are placed in thr same plate of a different item and then asking us to switch them ourselves, or missing completely some items. I could go on and on but really i dont wanna waste more time even thinking more about this horrible place
The menu posted in the window made it look like reasonable food pricing until you sit down and are given a different menu - with higher prices and less options - this is of course after they served us coffee. We went ahead and ordered. They told us the menu we saw was just for breakfast. What we had now what the lunch menu. $19 for 2 eggs, sausage and hash brown seems a little steep and it was nothing special. Service was fast though.
Me and family went here for breakfast two days ago. The service was as awful and the food wasn t coming out right. We were served by a miserable, rude woman named Kathy, had the worst attitude and wasn t bringing out the right food, completely careless. I order gluten-free toast and turkey bacon, the toast was given to me as bread. The turkey bacon was given almost burnt! When we told her about her issues, she s rolled her eyes a lot, bear in mind this was a teenage or young adult, this was a grown woman. Once she took that bread back to the kitchen, it 5-10min for it to be toasted for some reason. We were all starving and I had kids with me. By the end we made a complaint to the supervisor about the food being wrong and the terrible customer service. Supervisor was a lot younger than Kathy and didn t seem assertive at all. Kathy proceeded to point in mine and my daughter s face and yell ignorant . Staff did nothing about this and we left. Wouldn t recommend this place if you were starving to the death.
I do not recommend this restaurant (especially to anyone with food allergies) unless they make some significant changes. I went for breakfast as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and even though it was a very outdated ambiance, that is not what bothered me. Both my children ordered sausages + pancakes, both sets of sausages were completely burnt and hard. I mentioned this to the server and she said the kitchen refused to make more sausages and the best they would do is replace with bacon instead. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito and did not enjoy it. I ordered over easy eggs and bacon and gluten free bread. My eggs had no taste , almost tasted watery. Most importantly, I had mentioned my daughters sesame allergy (she has an EpiPen) and asked them to make sure there is not any sesame on anything. They server assured me that there was not any sesame on any.of the food. When my plate came, my toast had sesame all over the crust of both slices. I was very unimpressed and felt very uneasy. There should never be refusal by kitchen staff to remake food that is completely burnt and they also need to properly understand and take food allergies seriously as some are very life threatening. If this restaurant makes some serious changes, there could be good potential for them. For now, I would never recommend this place.
Amazing service and huge meals. Highly recommended!
Ordered some pasta to go. Paid way more due to location.
Excellent food
Rita is the best. Kind, funny and just fun to have as our server! Thanks Rita for making lunch fun.
Waited 10 min, twenty four clients sitting, still not one employee seen. So I left.
Decent restaurant for a hearty family meal. The service wasnt the best but the fish and chips were super tasty; the place was clean and the prices were quite reasonable considering the location. Oh by the way, shout out to Jacob! Thanks for taking good care of us.
The food here is overpriced, even for Niagara Falls and well under par. Do not recommend. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Simple breakfast.. diner style . Our server was helpful. Pricing was good . Next time, need larger coffee mug or mini coffee pot on the table. We had discount coupon from the hotel . Will go back whenever Im at the falls
Our server, Kathy, was fantastic . I recommend this restaurant. Very family friendly.
Breakfast at this establishment proved to be a wise decision. The pricing was reasonable, and the quality of the food and service was exceptional.
I did not like it at all, the soup was not tasty and the salad was only one herb, a quarter of a tomato and 2 pieces of cucumber, unfortunately the service was also bad...
Great food great price
Nice little place. Came for breakfest, very good food, staff and prices are very reasonable for the area. Will be back.
Old school diner vibe... got a pulled pork poutine to go, it ended up leaking gravey in the bag so was a lil messy, but was very tasty ... so would still recommend
The food was very good and the service was top notch! Plus it s a fun location right in the midst of Niagara Falls Tourst Ville
We ordered two plates of salad with soup, for $17 each. Both the soup and salad portions were ridiculously small. Also, we asked for water and he didnt bring us a single glass, just the bottle. We ordered onion rings and they forgot about them. They took our food away quickly, making us feel uncomfortable.
Service was lacking.
The food was okay. Our server was a friendly lady. However, the service is a little bit slow
Magnificent brunch (or breakfast), very hearty and good
Service was so rude. Also they don t care your order. They said they have halal option but they serve with bacon. lol.
A bit of a dated restaurant in a progressive part of Niagara Falls. Service was somewhat poor. The hosts made us feel like we were burdening them by asking for food when ordering. Could be a little friendlier considering the restaurant is in a primetime tourist area.
I ordered French toast, It was fried eggs on a bread, very dry, no flavor and nasty. The waiter was not that nice also. We ordered waffles and It was very hard and cold.
Convenient location. Good customer service and delicious, generous-size portions. Would improve the beverage menu though and get rid of those tiny dairy/creamer cups.
Pleasantly surprised here. Server named Jacob was an absolute king. Pancakes, poutine, salad - all good. Prices very fair. Would go again.
Bad restaurant. Need to add more food on menu. Food was decent.
We visited on a very busy day (2024 solar eclipse), and they were really busy, but still could manage everyone and taking the orders and preparing the food didnt take long.
Well situated in the center of the action. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Portions were good and we experienced our first Dole whip, which they had in pineapple and mango. It was very popular and they actuality ran out of a flavor while we were there.
This spot is located right in the heart of Niagara falls. We went on a sunday around 12 and there was actually no wait. I ordered the favourite breakfast but im gluten free so i was going to skip the bread. Turns out they have gluten free bread and it was really tasty almost homemade. However they did forget my drink and i think you have to ask for water. Overall an easy basic breakfast spot.
Fantastic food, excellent service, clean facilities . We would definitely eat there again. Thank you to the staff .
Rotten salad Rotten lettuce
Server was very kind, breakfast poutine was tasty. Most importantly my kids enjoyed all of their food.
Went in for breakfast and the service and food was brilliant.
Would not recommend, the menu is limited and pricey for a family restaurant. The service was excellent but the food not so much, we all ordered different items but all of us we dissatisfied (and our teenage son was still hungry). I know places are going to be pricier but thought we d give the non chain restaurants a try. Not again
I would suggest to avoid eating fish and chips. Very very oily fish with no taste. also tasted one of the worst Pork poutine ever. Service was good. Staff were friendly. Food
I went to eat some dinner and the food was just awful. The eggs were uncooked and runny. Potatoes came out of a bag from the freezer. Also very expensive. Overall a terrible restaurant.
Expensive! Food okay Food
Visited on the 19th December 2023. Service was fantastic and very genuine. Food was great reasonably priced for tourist area. Recommend!!
Good food and service for a quick and easy lunchtime meal.
Dont go. The dogs dont come. The service is super slow and some of the waiters are very arrogant and pretend to be invisible. The food is super expensive and ordinary and not worth the price. I ordered a soup and salad and there was only one kind of potato soup to choose from. It was very watery and a bit expired. It smelled sour and smelled like something bad. I don t know if it was just that or something else. If you don t go there, why not go to the nearby fast food restaurant?
My husband, our 3 kids, and I came in for a late breakfast today and let me tell you....those fries and hasbrowns. They are the BEST we have had hands down.... in forever! Hubby got a 2 egg breakfast with sausage and bacon and it looked and tasted amazing. I got the Cobb salad and it was really good. Kids got waffles, blt, and club sandwich and they loved all of it! I couldnt stop eating the fries lol. We will definitely be back here again. Very happy with our visit today.
I wouldnt recommend this place for breakfast. The price paid is not worth it. Across the street is Tim Houton. The waitress is slow. In particular, she appeared to be less attentive or accomodating towards Asian patron.
Very reasonably priced place to grab a bite on the strip. We came here as a family of four and had low expectations, we were pleasantly surprised. Rita, our server was great. My only comment was the French toast wasnt proper for snch toasts, but it wasnt bad (it had no taste). Aside from that, it was a decent meal.
Hi Jacob, your outstanding service and positive attitude made our dining experience truly memorable. Not only did you navigate the intricacies of the menu with finesse, but your genuine enthusiasm for your work enhanced the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The delightful combination of your excellent service, delicious food, and the inviting ambiance created a perfect dining occasion. Thank you for ensuring a fantastic time at your establishment!
i ripped my coat on the six or so holes on the women s middle bathroom stall wall. the holes have exposed, sharp metal edges. i am so sad. also got hot chocolate to go and it was watery and sour. disappointing experience all around.
Good food, local feel, not crowded, reasonable prices.
Everyone was extremely gentle and helpful! Service was very fast. We had eggs benedict one day and an omelette the next day. They were all great. Best place in the area for breakfast!
Simple breakfast like all others but on the pricy side. Good service.
Excellent place to go with the family, delicious food, excellent service and a very cozy atmosphere.
Appreciate their friendliness and service!
Ate here 10 years ago. Such a hauntingly disappointing experience that I felt like sharing it with you all. Avoid at all cost.
I was surprised that this place has the atmosphere of an office cubicle. Food is basically Costco sourced and meets minimum standards. Nothing to get excited about. The view of the street is great, however. Expensive.
They can t cook at steak and is 40 dollar. Won t come again. I like how they are very friendly to the other table and not to us maybe because we were Asian
Right on the main road, on the Canadian side, towards Niagara Falls, is this restaurant with a family atmosphere and very, very good food! Unbeatable attention! They have kids menu
Conveniently located near a public parking lot, easy to locate and be a rest stop and have breakfast to start the day of fun around the Niagara on the lake area
We were 8 tourists, teachers and the service was terrible. Even though we speak English, the explanation given by those who served us and did not please us, does not match what it says on the menu, especially when paying. We dont recommend it.
My goto place for over 7 years, feels like going home.
The waitress service that s the most unlikely but wen the food arrived that was wors
Good food good service
We had the breakfast burrito. There wasnt anything special about it, ham, egg and cheese in a shell with a side of salsa and potatoes. Way over priced at $18. Service was good and quick. The place was clean and inviting. Food
Great diner with reasonable price and amazing food. Had the Mexican breakfast burrito and it was amazing.
Amazing breakfast and service! I wish I knew our servers name. She was the sweetest! I lost my voice over our trip & she came with hot water and salt for me to gargle with. Great portions, warm food, everything was fresh! Definitely a spot to hit up on your visit to the falls!
Great B-fast.
Extremely friendly staff and good number of options to choose from. Well located in Clifton Hill area offering nice and comfortable seating to dine with family.
Decent American breakfast with great service.
Great service and decent food, but way overpriced. I was surprised to see they had great vegan options! But $20 for a vegan burger that is fast food quality is not reasonable. In summary: I was glad this place exists and has vegan options, but I would expect more for the price. Even a better bun would significantly add value to differentiate this burger from Burger King.
Everything was perfect
Great food and service
Plenty better options in the area. Way over priced, for the quality of rood served.
Food is delicious but some of the stuff are rude as much as I dont want to say that but I feel this rude attitude alot at this restaurant.. sad even though foods are amazing
It was just okay. Nothing amazing. Denny s did had more flavor
Fantastic Clubhouse, service was top-notch
Very rude workers. If you have kids do not bring them here!! Seems like the workers have something against kids! Horrible service! Will not be coming back. And will spread the word
Food was ok. Service was bery slow.
Great place to have breakfast and its all day.
Very nice family place, excellent service, very delicious
Great food and service.
Great service. clean good food
Double check your bill
We had a nice and pleasant experience here! The food was good and fresh, and there were some good options. I got the VLTO (vegan BLT), and it was actually really good! The waiter was friendly, the food came out fairly quickly, and the prices were reasonable (for Niagara Falls). Overall, a decent place and would recommend it! Vegetarian options: There are some vegetation and vegan options! Parking: I think the is a free parking lot available, but I am not sure. Otherwise, there are paid parking lot options downtown Niagara Falls. Kid-friendliness: Great for kids Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs
The first time there, the staff was very friendly the food was really good and the price omg you dont see those prices in Jersey! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Great service, although slow food . But good ordered was yummy and great for sharing! Egg Benedict is full cooked egg.
Fast and friendly
Ny girlfriend, our son and myself came here for breakfast. The staff was incredibly arrogant & rude, I personally got ignored multiple times. They were searing people after us, taking their order and serving them before even taking our order. After over 30 minutes of this nonsense I got up to ask a waitress who was serving us and was ignored again. So we left, immediately another family was sat and having their order taken. Theyre selective on who the treat fair and I highly recommend dennys over this place. The service was GARBAGE and the food is not worth it.
The price is cheaper than other places, its delicious, and its great for breakfast and lunch. The expensive food at Sky Tower was so tasteless and trashy... but Im glad theres a place like this...
Very good food and service! We always eat there when we visit Niagara Falls.
A very good service and Great hospitality And Sue was Wonderful, highly recommended.
AVOID Fish and Chips !! The fish was oily and the batter was definitely missing something. The childrens options were good. The breakfast menu options were good. Soup and salad were nice but tiny portions. Service was quick and good from the staff. Picked up an individual run business in maps. Turned out okaish
Okay food early in the morning. Coupon definitely helped this review. Staying at the travelodge down the street. Fast breakfast for the price.
Extremely over priced. Food was ok at best. Below average.went for breakfast me and my girlfriend and the bill for two meals and coffees was 68$. And when she asked for a paper cup to take her water with her they made her pay another dollar after an already extremely over priced meal. Also staff was very rude and ignorant. Especially the young Aisan man working the front. Extremely rude and seemed to think it was funny to make us pay for the cup as he was smirking at my frustration. Staff Seemed annoyed by tourists. Maybe they should work somewhere else. 0/10 would not recommend and Deffinatly will not return.
Don t need to give them tips, they don t deserve it. :) By knowing that I didn t add tips just throw the bill on the table. 0 point for the service:), when I get there, was just a young waitress, she didn t tell me anything and went to the kitchen, and then another old waitress came out and attended me with a totally rude attitude..
Was there on the long weekend. It was insanely busy, but service was good. The woman on cash was really great! Very welcoming and had a smile for everyone. We were seated right away. Food was hot and fresh and really good. For how busy it was the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Would definitely eat here again.
It was a nice place to have lunch. Great food and nice people.
Lovely traditional dinner with wholesome food. Our waitress had been there 53 years! Decent coffee.
Clifton Hill family restaurant is a nice place to have meals with family, like the name suggests. But the food is too oily and taste also is not so good. Presentation is just ok type and service is slow. This outlet is encashing on tourists business only and nothing exciting to come back here again. The only saving part was the cocktail which was good.
Service was good, and the breakfast was tasty. My wife and I visited it in winter.
Yummy food and fast service
Dont go there. The most unfortunate thing is that they will always have customers given the number of tourists, like the worst restaurants on the French Riviera are always full anyway. Nothing is right. The tables, the food, so if we can talk about food. While eating I couldnt help but think of the film The Wing or the Thigh. Everything looks so plastic, chemical, industrial, to conclude, flee this place.
Had a great Benny and waffles. Prices are reasonable. Server was excellent. Skip the IHOP as twice the price compared to this friendly establishment.
One of the few places you can get Dole Whip!
Service is average, food is average, price is not worth it for the average food.
Service was good, good was pretty good for the price I guess but I hate frozen potatoes for breakfast. Lol
Racist waitress!! Wont suggest anyone to go there! Waiter=waitress 1. Waiter didnt come for taking order for 20mins, but she was taking orders from the groups who came after us. Had very tough time to get her come to our table because nobody helped me and one lady said shes not waiter and didnt tell who is the waiter for the table. 2. Waiter missed items in our order, had to wait 15mins to get that. 3. No water was served (in all other tables water was served), had to ask the waiter and had to wait for 10mins for water. 4. Card swiping machine was not given and I was asked to go the counter to pay, while the same waiter gave card machine to other customer infront of me. 5. Food is average not that great.
Meh.. we went here a year ago and the prices were ok. Went there this year, and the prices have skyrocketed.. almost 70 for 2 people to have breakfast. Both times, the service was meh as well. When I walked in the 2nd time, I looked around. Not 1 person was smiling or even friendly. Definitely wont be going back for a 3rd time. Ans it sucks, we thought we found a decent breakfast spot, close to our motel, guess not.
Egg shells found in my Egg Benedict and I discovered it whilst eating. Born and raised in Toronto, Ive been to Niagara more than a hundred times and it was my first time being there. I normally also go to the same places, but my friends visiting Niagara for the first time were hungry, so ee found the nearest store that was not your regular fast-food place. It seemed like a quaint family restaurant, but it was just an all day breakfast place. Atmosphere isnt too bad if youre sitting by the window you can have the Clifton Hill view. However, the inside is like Egg Smart or Coras except much lower quality. Service is pretty slow too. Our party of four arrived and they gave us ample time to decide. It was about another ten minutes we were trying to get our servers attention when finally I was able to call her about 2 meters away, I said Hello there~ to which she replied Hi and then off she goes. I was a little taken aback with how she still didnt return to our table for several minutes and it seemed the table behind us agreed because I heard them whisper The waitress just said hi, and then thats it? I felt a tad bit embarrassed. Anyway, she came back to us about 5-10 minutes later without telling us shed be back. The food was mediocre at best. Good thing is that I didnt have a stomache ache afterwards. I wouldnt go again. Just go to major fast food chains nearby.
Group travel... Good food... Very friendly service
probably the worst pancake I have ever had. There are bits of green pepper in it my wife talking about her blueberry pancakes.
Should have listened to the other reviews. We did a take out order for breakfast. They didnt give us everything we ordered, and the pancakes werent very good. Ive never complained about pancakes but I had a few green peppers in mine. Im sure that was accidental, but even the other parts of the pancake were not good.
This restaurant was new to us. It has a comfy atmosphere and delicious food. We came around 11 on a week day, it was fairly full, but there was minimal wait time to be seated. There was an activity page and crayons for the children. Our server was kind, though could have been more attentive. At one point I was trying to make eye contact to request spoons for our tea, for some reason they were not in 3 of 4 of our napkin wraps. I saw her around and short of putting my hand up like in school, I just walked up and asked...not a big deal. Im comparing this place to Dennys because that is our Niagara go to for breakfast. CH over IHOP any day! (At least North of the border). I havent determined a clear winner, but the lower wait time, lower prices, bigger pot of tea goes to CH. CH has potato cubes vs the hash at Ds, both are delicious. Ds has bigger pancakes and a premium slice of ham, in their big breakfast (eggs, bacon sausage, potato side and toast) Both have a decent portion size. And I think CH gives 3 eggs to Ds 2. Ds is a bigger location with a higher chance for a booth with privacy, while CH has traditional chairs and maybe a wall of comfy chairs, a very open concept. Speed of service is comparable, (the food at CH probably came faster given its smaller size and fewer tables). Theres lots of parking at Ds, we usually stay at the hotel next door so just walk over. Im not sure what parking is like at CH, but its near the top of the Hill, and is central, we walked from our hotel. I highly recommend Clifton Hill Family restaurant and would definitely go here again!
Do they cook everything on the menu on the same dirty flatop/grill because our food tasted like that. Greasy food, EXTREMLEY expensive. The baked potatoes were definitley unwashed with gritty dirt on them. I thought chipped a tooth by eating a baked potatoe but it was just dirt. Felt like our server didnt care about us at all and just wanted us to tip and get out. Took a quick look inside the kitchen from the side, looks out dated and dirty. Many people served before us after we came in before them. Take some pride in your business and work ethic and find a Cook who actually cares what they are serving because this was very expensive and not very good. Came 2 years ago breakfast was pretty good but maybe staff Chang over?
We ordered the same the both times we were there. On the second time, we ordered a little more food but paid the same amount. Why?
Decent prices but forgot some of our food off both plates we ordered. Didnt come to check on us at all so we could let them know
Waiter rude. Food gross. Wait or money. I got the breakfast poutine. Legit looks like harsh-browns swimming in raw eggs. Don t add to your list of places to stop Food
Enjoyed the time and meal very good service. Wheelchair accessibility: Not good Food : 5/5 |
The best option we could find. Very good food and service. Close to all attractions. We loved it. Super recommended.
Like others said . This restaurant is so bad. I ve never experienced before such a rude customer service. They didn t serve us water(but they served other table),and there are no cutlery on the table. Also they asked nothing about the foods. When we paid, we asked for them to separate it. Then staff sighed. It was so uncomfortable. They changed their attitude depend on the customer. Is it because me and my friend are Asian? Another group of people (maybe they are Asian)were also ignored. I really sad because here is sightseeing spot, then many nationalities comes every day, right?
Breakfast taken in this restaurant. Delicious chocolate pancake, and in large quantities. Then the eggs Benedict with potatoes were also superb. Top notch service. Very kind and pleasant staff
Great atmosphere.
Great food at a great price. Staff very help and pleasant.
Great spot to chill
We ordered 4 salads. They forgot to bring us 1, but they added it to the bill... They also forgot about the utensils for everyone, on the side other guests also had to remind about it. The caesar salad was just salad with crackers, and the rum and coke was just coke with ice
the service was very pleasant and kind. breakfast well, Ive certainly had better eggs benedict. not worth the price.
Delicious food and fantastic service. I ll definitely be back!
A small, quiet restaurant, good classic dishes and well served. Very good service. Calm atmosphere that respites from the madness of the street! Childrens menu available.
Niagara is middle America on the water, or for Brits, a bit like Blackpool. A tatty resort built around a great natural phenomenon. This diner is NOT tatty, it s authentic. Canadian bacon means pea meal, some of the staff are from central casting, the prices are dead fair and you come out of breakfast able to take on the day.
Its a bit expensive, but you are in the heart of Niagara Falls...
Nice breakfast plenty choice
Great service and excellent home like food. Highly recommend if you visit. Also Kathy was really kind when serving us.
We got Canadian Hamburger, I didn t like the meat it was somehow uncooked. waitresses were not nice and when we asked for a to-go box, she reacted so rude! all in all it wasn t a place that I recommend it
All I got was a pineapple soft serve ice cream and it was really refreshing
I m not one to leave reviews, but what the waitress said SHOCKED me. One of my friends had a few dietary restrictions and he mentioned them to the waitress, In the midst of him staying his dire allergies she cut him off stating if I were you I would just pack a lunch. Not only was this just plain rude but it clearly displayed the restaurants values and how unwilling they were to accommodate to people s needs. Dietary restrictions: Really rude about allergies for a friend of mine. I understand that they need to be non-liable, but they had cut off my friend to say they should ve just packed a lunch.
Very nice home style diner with classic Canadian food. The interior is quite outdated, however it contributes to the laid back atmosphere that resembles small towns. Experienced waitressess and nice view of the central Niagara area.
Nobody liked their food and there was a strange smell in the restaurant. Very expensive for what you get.
Well, one more place to have breakfast without any extra extras... just eat and thats it. The only good thing is that it is close to everything
friendly staff, nice size portions. This is definitely a restaurant Id go back to! They kindly seated our party of 7. Food
Fun little diner type place for breakfast. Non chain like
The Clifton Hill Family Restaurant has never disappointed me for a filling and affordable breakfast. The eggs are always prepared excellently no matter how you like them. If you are visiting niagra falls and are looking for a decent breakfast without spending a bunch of money check this restaurant out
Service good. French fries good. Poutine not good. Burger not good. Bbq chicken dry hockey puck. Dole whip not good.
Loved this place and the food was so delicious!
The breakfast poutine. Well-seasoned uniformly cut breakfast potatoes + rich umami hollandaise sauce + old fashioned cheese = Delicious Canadian poutine, the flavor is so good with the sauce acting as the medium the potatoes exist in. The runny yolk of the over easy eggs fill any void that may exist to make the flavor continuous throughout every single bite. The bacon was the cherry on top. So good!!
I recently had visited this place for brunch, and overall was surprised by the cost of the food just for convenience, service was slow took about 20 minutes for the food to come out, another appalling thing was cost of coffee. I would only come here for the experience of brunch, but overall just was very expensive for the food being served
Very friendly staff and accommodating great vegetarian and vegan options. Very welcoming experience. As soon as we got into the door service is always with a smile.
