Garrisons Grill in Niagara Falls

Stopped ordering from here a couple years ago due to consistently declining quality. Tried again and cant believe their still in business. Ordered a Deluxe steak sub pathetic amount of lettuce and tomato. Barely any onions or mushrooms. Forgot to ask for no green peppers but hey, I couldnt find any anyway. Incredibly overpriced for $18. If it was 8$ that might have been the right price. Dont waste your time and money. Most of the good reviews are 5years or older

Always go here but once its 45 mins to close they dont answer their phones. Tried for half an hour they pickup and hangup right away ill gladly take my business elsewhere from now on.

I stood in line waiting to have my orders taken, while the employees were in laa land,then all of sudden two realized another customer was there ,the lady that took my order ,didnt apologize, gave me some story about another customers order, Too bad your subs are expensive, and first & last time

Ordered taco no meat no tomato cold food. Asked for mild taco got hot. No Chicken Caesar salad no chicken and the order was 40

Just ordered from there live on other side of town went in otrdered and waited I was in no rush got my food great got home missing items my burger. Incompetent staff could do so much better I been going there for years boooo

Ive eaten here for years, I usually get the Italian sub, they are putting half the meat they use to put on them and does not justify me paying $15.00 ! Also, the lettuce tasted like it was from a bag. The friendly guy that use to work there the last 6 months knew how to make a sub..... the woman in there now, is real cheap with the meat...not very friendly either ..Place is going downhill

$21 for a large chicken Souvlaki that may have been 8 inches long. Barely any chicken. What a waste of money. Never again. Many other reviews stating the higher prices and lower quality, plus no reply from ownership. Unless I hear back from management theyve lost a repeat customer.

Best subs around always get the Chicken club deluxe and there is so much chicken it s worth the drive from Fort Erie Steak subs are so full of steak husband can hardly finish it

Ive been working down the road for over 10 years.Ive eaten here plenty of times... Normally a large italian classic feeds me and the wife.. Was in there today in order to large one And I actually thought they gave me a small But I left with it anyways And when I got home it wasnt even big enough to feed me... Very little meat and lots of lettuce.. I did notice the last couple times I was in there.They werent as good.My days of grabbing subs from there are done

Got an assorted sub felt like I was eating a loaf bread. Total rip off for 15$. Subs have been poor quality for the buck since the owners took over.

Every time we go to Niagara Falls we Make a point of eating here. The Greek chicken wrap is so saucy. Chicken fingers r cooked just perfect

About 4 years ago I ate here, and the burger was amazing. Went back the other day, and the burger was not good. Dry bun, small little dried up patty with no flavor. The fries were very stale. And my entire family had stomach aches after. The staff is super nice and friendly. Maybe we just got a bad batch of food. I would love to have that burger I had 4 years ago.

Second time here. Have had the classic steak sub, gyro and turkey sub. All three were amazing. Will be back everytime I am back in the falls for work.

Husband went there tonight ordered a small and a large sub. They gave him 2 small. There was more bread than meat. Very dissatisfied.

Love the Greek salad with grilled chicken. Steak and mushroom sub is greasy and delicious. Been coming here since I was a young kid with my dad. Still as good as ever

Very Good service however the poutine was not good. Fries were stale and did not taste fresh. No cheese curds, it shredded cheese. The only thing that was good was the gravy. Steer clear of the poutine here its not their specialty.

We arrived at 8:42pm tonight (Dec 29 2022) The closing time is 9pm. The following is verbatim, exact words exchanged between us and the server from when we were one step inside the door. I made a point of noting what exactly was said, because its relevant. Server: (to the other lady behind the counter) Oh I guess we didnt lock the door. Us: Arent you still open? Server: We close in like 5 minutes. Us: Oh, I thought you were open till 9 no? Its 8:42 right now. Server: Well yeah but we lock the doors at like 10 to. And so we left. So incredibly rude. 18 minutes to close is enough time to make a sub. If youre open till 9, then you dont lock the doors at like 10 to. And for the record, if it was easier we would have been fine to order just cold subs so they didnt even have to use the grill. But they just got annoyed at first glance. Maybe Garrisons owners wont care, but we wont be back.

Food was great service was good

Their customer service is horrible. Stopped in 20 minutes before the posted 8pm close. Girl 1 looked at Girl 2 behind the counter and said I guess we forgot to lock the door. I stopped and said Your sign says youre open till 8pm?? Girl 2s response was we lock the doors 10 minutes early but I can make you something because I havent turned the grill off yet. The fact that they werent interested in serving their customer and more interested in closing early Im not going to ask them to make my food. Thats usually when something happens to your food. The attitude and lack of interest for customers was a complete turn off. This is a common occurrence because we were disappointed with them being closed before the posted time before. This day an age you dont want to lose customers or orders! Message to the owner. If you are open till 8pm then you take orders and serve until 8pm. If not then change your sign!! People rely on posted store hours to know when to visit your establishment and order food. If it was 5 minutes to close I would understand, but 20 minutes? Ill go elsewhere. You have the best steak sub hands down in Niagara. Nothing else has come close and Ive tried many places. But I wont be returning. Ill continue my search for better.

Hairnet should be a thing pretty sure that you should not stand at the grill while cooking peoples food scratching your hair or taking cash then making food with out washing your hands

Food tasted alright but when I buy a pita I expect a pita not a salad on flat bread. Buncha teens who dont care what theyre doing.

Steak Sub was not hot which I wasnt that upset with but the sub was so Salty we could barely eat them.

Run as far and as fast as you can from here. About10 minutes into our over 20 minute wait, my husband and I noticed a sad, lonely sub sitting ignored on the front counter. 10 minutes later when our order was finally called, we realized that the supposed to be hot sub that had been sitting out for so long on the customer counter in a chilly room belonged to my husband. For some reason they made his item, let it sit 10 minutes and then made mine. During this time we were treated to the counter girl (short, with a light brown pony tail) loudly laughing and making fun of a customer who had called in a complaint about their order. Way to go on professionalism. We got home and I opened my sub which I had asked for no lettuce on. I didnt notice anything off at first due to the tzatziki having a lot of garlic. Took my first bite and IMMEDIATELY spit it out. I can deal with an order request being overlooked, but there was an easily identifiable and totally overwhelming taste of rot. I pulled the sub apart to figure out where it was coming from. When I found the lettuce (that I had told them not to put on), the overpowering rotten smell matched that of what I had just tasted. So basically, if you want to wait for a long time for hot food that is left out for long periods of time on a cold counter to cool (doesnt the health board have something to say on that topic?) only to finally receive food that smells and tastes rotten this is the perfect place for you to go. The rude staff floor show does help with passing the wait time though, I will say that for them.

Been here once before and had rude service but thought we would give them a second chance. It was taking forever to get our food. As were waiting, Im watching the employees make other orders. Ive worked in the restaurant/food industry for years and was grossed out by what I saw. No gloves, no hair nets or hats, employees touching their face, hair, clothing, jewelry, putting a necklace in their mouth and then touching the necklace and then touching the food. All this is happening why the owner or manager is standing there watching them. So clearly this is an ownership issue. Not having any sanitary standards. The owner that was there was rude, got our money back and left. Definitely wont be back.

The customer service was horrible. They gave nothing but attitude and speak to you like your stupid. The food is average. I ordered the beef taco and it was greasy not enough toppings and to much of the beef. Overall I probably wont be back.

Great food, very filling, I was full of the burger and couldnt finish my fries.

Called to order in advance, was asked to hold. Sat on hold the entire drive there (15 mins). Walked inside girl looked up and asked what we wanted, we explained we were on hold and she laughed and said oops... We ordered and waited for 20 minutes, when i got up from the seating to ask how mucb longer...once again oops and handed our food to us, it had been ready and sitting there for 10 mins. Sad this place has gone downhill so much

Missed an entire item on our takeout order and when I called to complain I was told I was lying and hadnt even ordered the item. I was holding the receipt in my hand that clearly showed I paid for the missing item. The (he sounded like)kid on the phone was so very rude and refused to help at all. One item we did get were ok(ish), the chicken fingers were ok but the fries were soggy and undercooked. The Angelina BLT had no tomatoes and barely little lettuce. The taco was a pile of mush, the insides were like a paste. This place is not what it used to be and I highly suggest going anywhere else. If only to avoid the terrible staff.

Terrible prices and staff who berate and mistreat customers,especially senior citizens. Gone completely downhill and off the rails since the late 90s,when they used to be my go to.

All around that experience food was wrong attitude wrong try to replace it wrong. Save your money less headache and probably better food elsewhere.

I had an order picked up for me, so the person picking up knew no different. The fries were $7.00 for a very small container. (See attached pictures) When i called back to question it, the staff member said I think thats the right size. Adding I dont make the prices! WOW. $7.00 for less than 2 potatoes worth of fries. What a ripoff!!! Prices have gone up, but thats just plain SHAFTING YOUR CUSTOMERS Be warned... DO NOT ORDER A LARGE FRY!!!! Buy a bag of potatoes for less and save money! My 1st and LAST TIME eating at Garrisons grill! Very disappointed in this local establishment. I will be sharing this with all my friends and family. Absolute RIPOFF !!!

Great food with large portions

Taco salad was the t!ts with crispy taco, nicely seasoned salad with oodles of cheese and beef. The double burger was also huge and super tasty. Can t wait to visit again.

Literally in love with garrisons burgers. They. Are. So good. I just wish they delivered a little farther They are a little on the pricey side, but its good portions. Also, I havent tried anything but the burgers, but I tell everyone I know how good they are. super filling too!

Had a rough late afternoon, and I didnt want to cook. I love me a good sammich, and I absolutely lucked out with the mushroom steak sub! Everything you love in a great steak sarnie, overstuffed, soft bread, great seasoning. Had a pleasant interaction with the staff, sharing a laugh with my fortunate outcome of a lousy situation. Strongly recommend! Alas, no pics because I was very hungry!

The food was cooked and seasoned very well, and the portions were unbelievable.

The food is amazing, and decently priced. Huge sandwiches, with delicious toppings, giant salads and cheesy quesadillas. The fries are fresh cut and almost like chip truck fries.

went in with my wife and kids tonight got out of my 3 orders 1 was right. the side of fries as for the meal wrong type of sub sandwich. wasnt given my combo fries and drink and after i went back with the meal they said thats what i ordered and tried to ring up a new bill for me for my missing items/wrong sub. Disgraceful service. Disgusted I even tipped for this kind of behaviour. never again

Amazing food first time trying a sub its was the best I have had for a long time. Fresh cut fries too. A turkey club sub and chicken souvlaki wrap with a drink under 30 bucks. The staff was really nice too :)

Always satisfied with the food.. always disappointed with the attitude of staff. So many times I have felt like they re rushed and frustrated while working. Today, the woman behind the counter was rude to the customer in front of me who was an older woman. The worker rolled her eyes because the lady couldn t figure out the debit machine. Instead of politely helping her, she gave the older lady some passive aggressive response well it s obviously not going to process because you haven t even tapped your card . It would have been far nicer to just walk the woman through the steps politely. I understand that it s probably hectic and, of course, working with the public can be frustrating . But if you can t put a smile on and be polite, you re in the wrong industry. Some of the ladies at Garrisons need a lesson in customer service ASAP.

I ve been a customer for many years. My husband since he was a kid. I don t get take out frequently, so I haven t had Garrisons in a while so decided to place an order today. Though the food was decent, my husband was very displeased with the customer service he received when he went to pick up our food by a lady at the counter. She obviously misheard the name for the order, but it wasn t far off the first letter was wrong. So when he told them the name they said there is no order by that name. He told them what we ordered and had to argue to get our food. Apparently they couldn t put two and two together that the first letter of one of their orders was wrong and replace it with our name and it was OUR order. Kinda sad when a business switches owners/ all the old employee s leaves and than it goes downhill. Garrisons used to be one of my favourites. I ll probably rethink next time I order and just stick with D vincis and we won t mind the extra drive across town to have friendly staff : )

Asked for certain ingredients to be left off due to allergies. Picked up the order, and there was nothing changed. Called, spoke with the manager and had to repeat what the order was supposed to be six times. They remade it, and when picked up again, it was missing things. Terrible service, not apologetic for the hassle/inconvenience. Will not be back.

Weve been driving from Grimsby to Garrisons grill for over 20 years. Since the new ownership, the quality and taste of the food has really gone downhill. We always got the chicken soulvaki made with big chunks of chicken breast, now theyre made with thighs. I ordered a greek salad and the lettuce was all old and brown. They used to have the most amazing tasting feta cheese and now its just tasteless

Good subs and combos. Too much bread in my opinion but people like a lot of bread so I cant complain.

Garrisons has had amazing food for ages, keeping their quality and menu even through a change of ownership. They cook the meat for their hot subs separately first, so unlike some other places with well stuffed subs, its done properly all the way through.

Great food

Food is good (heavily dependant on what you order) though its a bit expensive and since its made fresh theres long wait times. Located on one of the busiest corners of the city, but are still relatively slow most of the time. That being said i still eat here semi regularly since they have a few specialty menu items that i highly enjoy, but i dont order anything else.

Try their Julienne salad its amazing. The service could have been friendlier.

We use to come here all the time but our recent order we picked up was a disappointment. I ordered my usual poutine... It was one of the worst poutine I ever had. Fries was soggy and a bit raw, the gravy was clumpy like they didnt even cook it. Just awful and I had to pop it in the oven to heat it up. Even when heated it tasted weird and it wasnt the same. I would never recommend this place to anyone nor come back to eat here again.

I had four orders. When I went to pick up my order they forgot about my fourth order . When I place my order I asked for my subs to be toasted and they told my that they always toast there subs. So I get my orders home and they didnt toast my sub it was soggy and had to throw it out. This is the second time this happened I called the person on the phone didnt seem to care. They use to be a place you can get good food not anymore. Update: the subs are not the same as they use to be they give you an 8 instead of a 12 and they changed the sub bun. They used to have the taste of there food going for them unfortunately they dont have that anymore. I like to see small businesses succeed not fail. The problem usually is when a business changes ownership then they change what made the business succeed and thats when it goes down hill.

I ordered a poutine and deep fried pickles. it took 25 minutes and there were tomato pieces in it. A woman who ordered 2 deluxe subs who came in after I ordered left with her subs 7 minutes before me. There was nobody in front of me when I placed my order. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! Dietary restrictions: tomato is NOT supposed to be in a poutine

While on the way there I called to place a pickup order and was put on hold, well they actually put phone down on counter. When I got there I see no customers at the counter and the 2 girls just socializing behind the counter while the phone is on the counter still live with me on it. Absolutely abhorrent service, how far this place has fallen under new ownership.

Heard a lot about this place, that the food was some of the best in the area. While I would agree its better than most places I wouldnt say it was anything to write home about. Got a steak sub and while the meat was well seasoned everything else was average. Would stop by again in a pinch.

Subs are the best, last time I called to preorder I was put on hold for 15minutes, I sure think they must of forgot I was on hold. That needs to be improved with paying customers or I will go elsewhere.

Slow food and worse service. They fall behind on orders, so people wait 45mins to get takeout. Since I was the only customer in there, it is inexcusable. It is a shame because they have great tasting food. They took the order first then told me the time. I would spend all my money there to support local, if they could time the food better. The woman i spoke to explained why they were behind and DO NOT LISTEN to you. I dont want excuses, I want fast food in a fast manner. For no dine in and take out only, they are too disorganized. DONT TAKE THE DAMN ORDER IF YOU ARE BEHIND. A burger or sub should not take 30mins to cook. They do not care about your business. Eat elsewhere so you do not starve.

Drove out to try the food buts its completely closed on Sundays and Mondays. Update your hours so no one else wastes their time. Wont be returning.

This is our go to for lunch when we are working in the Niagara Falls area. So many different selections. Personally love the chicken souvlaki pita. Caesar pita is a close second. Havent really had anything from Garrisons that I havent liked. A real staple on the 5 corners.

First time eating there today. It was decent but not what its hyped up to be. The salad portions are huge, with generous toppings. The chicken was soggy unfortunately and the customer service really sucks. The guy taking orders was polite, but the girls making the food? Were quite abrupt and rude. Probably wont be back as customer service is important.

Had a work meeting today and they bought us lunch. We pre-ordered since there was 13 double burgers and fries. When the order was picked up there were 2 orders of fries and zero toppings on the burgers. Very disappointing as everyone said how good they were. Not sure if anything will happen to make it right but no one is going to want them for lunch in the future.

Hamburger was pink in the middle...not very safe. Threw the whole thing out. Wont be back

I have been visiting Garrison Subs for over 3 decades. Theyve gone through many changes over the years, but have always provided a great tasting product at a great price. The large portions will leave you full and satisfied! Their signature Chicken Club sub is loaded with toppings, and truly one of a kind. I highly recommend Garrison Subs Niagara Falls!

I dont know what to say. Havent visited since before the pandemic. I think it may have changed owners. Bought my usual Taco combo. Taste was still there but the size was about a 1/3 - 1/2 times smaller than I remember. In the past there was no way to eat one of these while driving. This time I was able to accomplish that task with one hand. Sad it changed.

Ordered 100 dollars worth of food and never again. Ordered a sub that on their menu didnt say tomatoes but when I got it and opened it up there they were. called in and said I have an allergy to tomatoes and never asked for them all I was told was ( I will make a note of it for next time )..... so Im out a super and 20 bucks and a slap in the face......

The food is amazing. But I wish I could say the same for the service you shouldnt place an order 15 minutes prior to getting there and still wait another 15 minutes not impressed.

We have bought from Garrison subs for 30+ years, starting at the Fort Erie location. Fantastic steak and hot chicken finger subs. Our last visit the one sub was burnt...not very edible. We turned around, brought it back and the replacement was exactly how it should have been...delicious! All is good. If you want a good sub with descent proportions...this is the place.

Never listen to your order I have had them a few times and theyve always disappointed in some way.

Very disappointed in the service received the other day for take out. Spending 65$ for a 3 person meal and not one of us could even finish it. Let alone want to. Sorry guys youve really gone down hill over the last few months. The normal staff girls are awesome, the kids not so much.

Ordered a large chicken souvlaki sub and thats exactly what i got! Absolutely delicious. The only thing that was a miss was the bun was soggy and not toasted enough. Loaded with chicken which i was pleasantly surprised about. Most places give a sad pathetic amount. I feel $16 was well worth it.

After a 30 min wait for a burger combo the frise were Hard Rock Cold... I guess the girl was mad that i asked how much longer it will be... Came from toronto and always come here when i down here but after That cold tase and long wait i wont be back!

The steak and gyro subs are the best

Amazing salads

My family and I got so sick from eating here. The staff themselves were friendly and the store was cleanish (meaning the storefront was clean, but their floors and countertops were covered in fries and onion rings). We ordered our food and everything we ordered was somewhat accurately given to us and seemed fresh, but it was all so oily. I did find two olive pits in my wrap and one cherry pit in my piece of cheesecake and my husband had recieved a protein in his sub that wasnt supposed to be there (turkey in a beef sub). The cheesecake probably wasnt their fault though, because they probably order it in. I wont be ordering from here again.

Good food but they dont work well under the pressure of a fast food restaurant. They had a lot of phone orders so I waited more than 30 minutes which I dont mind. What I do mind is getting an order that is almost entirely wrong. Why ask what you want on your burger if you are going to put everything on them regardless? Ordered 2 PLAIN burgers, emphasized twice, and they came fully loaded!! When I called I was told they are very busy and it was an honest mistake. The word SORRY was never uttered. Beware your order could very well be whatever THEY decide to give and dont dare complain!!

Just great bust fresh sub

Had a rough day today so my fiance and I decided to get take out. Went there around 7, 7:30ish on Sunday evening and ordered a steak sub deluxe + regular poutine and it was... meh. Steak sub had SO MUCH oil + grease by the time we got home the bread was complete mush and it was WAY over stuffed, so it was difficult to eat + barely edible. Taste was ok, but I had oil dripping all over my hands before I even took the first bite. I feel like I went through half a roll of paper towel for one meal. Poutine was a basic poutine, pretty average. Weve been here before and its been a lot better, so Im assuming they were having an off night? I dont know, but I DO know that I dont plan on ordering that sub ever again.
