Suisha Gardens is one of the largest Japanese restaurant in Canada, and one of Niagara's Teppan Steakhouse. Suisha Gardens includes a spacious lounge, Teppanyaki tables (Hibachi), a large Karaoke room, a Noodle Corner and a Japanese Style Bar & Grill (Izakaya). Reservations are REQUIRED for the Teppanyaki Tables, and we ask that your group (large or small) arrives on time as it will affect future reservations that evening. All Teppanyaki tables seat 8-10 people. We strive to cultivate a community, as such all seating is Communal with smaller parties grouped together around the table. For more intimate dining we recommend the regular tables (traditional style cuisine).
If you need to distract your guests with water wheels and tempanaki tables... it means there's something else going on... and what's going on is that this place is letting the restaurant go to hell all while attempting to serve good food... I'll start with the food... green Dragon roll was 10/10 but that's it... compliments to the sushi chef on that.... kinda glad we didn't go deep on this menu as the age of the restaurant made us worry about what else was going on in the kitchen... dirty floors and windows... before we reached the bathrooms we could smell them... and after going in I'll safely say there are gas stations with cleaner more refined conveniences.... tea was served in a plastic pot... wtf?... 🤢 cups were ceramic so why go half way on the tea service??... plastic + hot water = your drinking plastic... I really want to go back and try more... but the state of the place and my better judgement have told me no... good luck... consider this the budget benihana...
It was reccomended by our hotel. We took the short walk and as we rounded the corner we thought...ah should we be scared. We continued with absolutely no issue. From the out side it looked rather sketchie..the interior needs a face lift..BUT the food and the presentation quickly elevated the experiences. The portions were huge! We would highly reccomed it.
The outside looks quite sketchy, but don’t be fooled! The inside is so cute and there’s even a little shop connected to it! Service was great, and the portions are plentiful! The food was very fresh as well. I highly recommend coming here!!!
We been visiting this restaurant for over 2years. My husband and I are very impressed on our last visit and we keep thinking if they do have a new cook. Food extremely delicious and they have a big serving as well. It was an incredible experience indeed a worth 100$ bill.
We found a lovely restaurant that serves delicious ramen. It's just a short walk from the busy touristy area behind the Vittoria Hotel. Even though there was a "Reservation Only" sign, they quickly found us a table. The modest exterior hides a surprisingly spacious and charming interior, complete with a water wheel. Next to the restaurant is a Japanese grocery store.
This was an ok experience at best to be honest . The chairs are dreadfully uncomfortable. The prices are a bit high . 32 for flank steak , Some onions and mushrooms . My biggest complaint is that no one explained the menu. They really start to towards the food that is prepared In front of you. I was actually looking forward to Raman noodle bowl. Anyway food was ok . .. we had to move empty plates ourselves as they were piling up. I probably wouldn’t go back . Was an invite with a group of people.
It's located off the strip with free parking but in shady neighborhood. The food isn't bad but the sashimi cuts were not the same size. The outer pieces were larger than the pieces behind. We ordered the emperor roll but they gave us a California roll. We told them and they fixed it. The karaoke was a mood killer as there was some piano music playing over the speakers and the 2 don't mix especially with amateur singers.
Off main strip with parking available, decent prices, and good food. We didn't make reservations for the tepanyaki tables, so be sure to do that ahead of time if you plan on going. We were a little skeptical about the area and the appearance from the outside, but the inside made up for it with a cute water fountain and waiting area. Great place for dining with family and friends. Sushi is comparable to other quality establishments. We will be back.
Took my daughter for her 8th bday. Very nice staff and food was great! Will be coming back! Food
Lots of fun and the food was very tasty
Great service and food, we did the teppanyaki table, reasonably priced, and many different food options available. Highly recommended!, They also have a Japanese items minimart, has respectable amount of assorted sweets, frozen food, snacks,
A hidden gem! We went here on a Saturday evening and it was surprisingly empty. The server was really kind and checked up on us constantly. Food was good, the setting was beautiful and there were tons of space and room, couldnt believe how huge the restaurant was.
The closest thing you get to Japan without actually being there. The food is so yummy, the staff is so hospitalible & the cozy vibes are unmatched. Mad, it took me so long to find this hidden gem, but Im glad its part of my experiences now!
Definitely will come again, Everything was absolutely incredible!
Food aint too bad but our waitress was very helpful and top notch
We loved everything about this experience! We were slightly hesitant when we saw the buildings around it, but inside was impeccable. Adults and kids give it 5-star food, 5-star service. Thank you!
The taste is good, the price is reasonable, mostly Asian food, there is Teppanyaki, the environment is a bit far away, but the price/performance ratio is high
A gem of a place with a karaoke room and a great teppanyaki chef. Things to be aware of: - Some diners arent aware that the experience requires the diners to be an interactive audience, which unfortunately dulls the atmosphere a bit. Try to book in groups of 8 if you want to ensure your whole table is full of fun people. -The server stopped visiting when the teppanyaki chef stepped into the cooking zone, so make sure to have a full drink at that point. Our chef was so sweet and did his best to get the servers attention for the lady who needed water, but it was clear that they didnt want the show interrupted. What our group was not expecting was a karaoke room! It is free for diners on Friday and Saturday! Dietary restrictions: They were able to easily accommodate a severe peanut allergy
Good place for a cute date/ good food/ great and quick service and affordable/ great ambiance
I would like to start with terrible service. Very slow as we had to wait 25 minutes for our sushi. Then had to ask for ginger. The sushi was not go great. I would not come back
absolutely perfect
Arrived to the restaurant for my friend s birthday dinner. We were very happy with the food and the service. Our chef was very friendly and happy to cook for us. The staff was so polite and helpful. The restaurant also has a karaoke room which they let us use, and it helped us to complete the night. It was overall an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new. :)
Don t be fooled by the exterior! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! This was the freshest meal we ve had on our vacation. HIGHLY recommend!
Sushi was so fresh & delicious. Very high quality.
Very good
A gift from heaven
Dont be fooled by the external appearance of the building, inside its really very beautiful and clean, the teppanyaki dinner is very good
Not impressed with the sushi rolls since it was just a lot of rice with out any taste and all the rolls kind of tested the same. The place is out of the way but has a good ambiance.
First of all the servers and the employees were fine and was working very hard! So kudos to them and we thank them for taking care of us. Secondly, we made reservations expecting to have a good time and good food. But unfortunately this was one of the worst experiences we ve had with Tenpanyaki. The amount of food served was enough for a small child. It did not reflect the price of the food. Please please please don t waste your time and money here. As much as I want to like it, I could not do it. It was way too expensive! If you wanted more rice it was $3 extra. They didn t even fill up the bowl! I was so disappointed. I get that Niagara Falls is a tourist trap, but come on this was just ridiculous. Giving us 6 small pieces of chicken? that was just straight up wrong. The only thing we liked was the tempura ice cream. We tried our best to make the best out of what we had. Just disappointed the food wasn t that great and portion was small. Needless to say, we won t be coming back.
Sushi was fresh. Local is in a sketchy part of niagara falls and inside smells like moth balls and old water and decor needs to be upgraded. Duct tape on couches is not the greatest look. Dietary restrictions: Has gluten and pork free options
The entertainment, food and service are definitely worth a visit!
Food
i love japanese food
The sushi is very tasty, nice interior, pleasant service!!!
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available Food
very good Chinese very tasty, you will not regret coming here Food : 5/5
Service was ok but very disappointed with the sushi quality. We ate one sharp fish bone out of the sushi!!! The avocado in the sushi was hard as rock. The salmon sashimi was rubbish.
Really neat place (inside), it looks quite nice! Food was good and the price wasnt too bad! Outside could definitely use a make over.
Yes youll think youre at the wrong place. Yes youre at the right place! A fun evening out with colleagues. Good food. Worthg getting off the beaten path to check out.
I love everything an amazing food I recommend to visit
After doing many teppanyaki over the years, I m sad to say this was the worst experience I ve had ever. I brought friends to experience a magical meal and it disappointed in every aspect. From the run down repurposed warehouse this must have been before with buckets to catch ceiling leaks everywhere (I tripped on one actually that had no signs) and the lack of attention to the decaying interior. Don t get me wrong, the reception area had potential with the pond area and seated waiting area, the original attempt was visionary but that s about where it ends. Next comes the food the timing was COMPLETELY off each ingredient was prepared out of order and we ended up eating each one on their own, while we waited for the next meat or veggie to be ready extremely poor execution. Next the quality of the food I don t know what mystery grizzle meat they tried to pass off as chicken but I d be surprised that thing ever had feathers. Even the beef was disappointing both in quality and the way it was prepared. It was cooked like a regular steak and not a teppanyaki style. The highlights here were the soup and the house salad dressing. That s where the good food ended. As for the chef, he was a nice gentleman who did the best with what he had, but it was painfully evident that management doesn t care about training their staff. The magic of Teppanyaki is about the show so if management doesn t hire/train professionals who love their job, what s the point of offering that type of experience. I would never return to this location. Clearly just a tourist trap to try and lure in one time clients.
Pretty good food bit the atmosphere was not the best, seems like an old location.
An excellent experience ! If you don t want eat hamburger et fries it s the best adress. The dishes are always fresh (we ate twice). The service is excellent.
We reserved a hibachi table for a group that wanted to experience this for the first time(one person was experienced). From the exterior to the interior of the building, it was not what we expected, Run down and unkempt exterior to an old interior with broken chairs and leaking roof where water was being caught in buckets on the floor and plastic bags formed into bladders with hoses to drain from the ceiling. That was off putting! Service was on melamine plates and bowls .the chef(no fault of his own) was untrained and definitely not experienced only having worked for a few weeks, with his skills learned from watching YouTube as he explained. The food was poor quality, not prepared well, not sequenced properly leaving us with empty plates most of the evening. Not a good experience! Take your hard earned money somewhere else .one and done!
Hidden gem. Amazing food!!
Excellent restaurant! Very good and varied cuisine, friendly staff, very good sushi! Pleasant atmosphere, we went there 2 evenings in a row!
Ive been a few times now, and the food is consistent. This place cooks seafood to perfection. If you want perfectly cooked shrimp and melt in your mouth scallops, this is the place to be. Cocktails are large and tasty! They also have different Japanese beers available sometimes. Hoping to try a karaoke night next!!! Cheers
The food was amazing!! Everything had great flavor and the experience was awesome!!
The food was excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic! Brigette provided exceptional service. Thank you very much! Well definitely come back.
We had the dynamite roll and beef teriyaki bento box, both were amazing and the service is awesome. Super friendly staff. Loved it!
8 of us! Great time! Good food! Price is almost double since pre covid!
Place looks like a dump. Resembles light industrial machine shop. Not a nice aesthetic at all inside OR outside. Inside has buckets and bags to catch leaky roof. Very dated. Unprofessional QR code menus. Food was cooked in stages, one at a time. I had steak and only steak on my plate . Then rice quite a while later . Still later the chicken . And even later still the bean sprouts I felt bad for the very young chef . The ridiculous price of this mess left me disgusted. Clearly a money grab at every level.
Vegetarian options: Tofu was done well Food
Great food. Great prices. If you like Japanese food, give this place a go. Worth every dollar vs anything on the Clifton Hill strip. 2x Bentos + 32 pieces sushi and sake = 100$. Dont miss out.
Great place. Friendly servers. Amazing dishes. Recommend to all Niagara Falls visitors.
We needed the first booking 4:30, as we had later plans - if you want more atmosphere, go later when its busier. There is a front area with leather chairs and cool seating that looks great for meeting for drinks and apps, its a bit separate from the dining area. Our chef was super fun, interactive with you and great skills. I had the chicken+beef+shrimp, I couldnt finish so I brought the rest home. I ordered dumplings to start, delish. Upgrade to the fried rice (theyre smart, its extra but of course you want it) ITS THE BEST FRIED RICE MY WHOLE TABLE HAS EVER HAD. Everyone enjoyed all their food, the vegetarian option wasnt too exciting though, would have been nice to see the tofu cooked in a unique way or crispy. I suggest bringing cash to tip the chef separately if you wish, we are the tip to the bill but not sure how its broken down, others took our orders and brought the drinks but we wish we had cash for him. We bought a bunch of ramen and neat snacks in the store next door.
Food was great. Chef was entertaining. Would definitely recommend and will be returning
What a great experience. We will be back and will for sure entertain friends here. What a hidden gem.
A fun time! Friend Birthday celebration tonite Fantastic way to enjoy watching the chef create our entrees! A work of Art!! I liked it! Loved the heart the Chef made!!delicious onion soup, salad, Japanese fried rice , seasonings..for chicken, beef,+ ** top it off with mango ice cream! ** Food
Food was excellent , price is very reasonable, show was excellent too and service was great, i recommend this Japanese steakhouse, and i will come back.
Its okay!
Excellent option to eat well and have a different and entertaining time with friends and family. The prices are quite affordable and the service was good. Recommended
Really disappointed. Myself and partner who is a well known Black Sommelier I tried to call to make a reservation today and got the voicemail. When I arrived it took about 15 minutes for a server to come by and tell me that teppan service wasn t possible for tonight and it would be 30 minute wait for a seat for regular service. We were going to leave after learning this but decided to stay and spoke to another server who told us we could be seated with another group for teppan but it would be a tight squeeze. So we waited and asked if we could maybe order drinks while we wait in the lounge. They said yes but no one came around. They then proceeded to server a 5 top group without a reservation. Hugely disappointing. Won t be back. As two black women it felt like we were intentionally not prioritized. We instead went to Niku bbq! Highly recommend they were so kind and quick.
cool place never been to one of these before I like new experiences. Food
I had teppanyaki with my family, the food were way too salty. The cook kept adding soy sauce and I had to stop him. He cooked the raw chicken on one side and fried rice on the other side. When he cooked the second course, he didn t clean the replan. The food were burnt, so disappointed
Teppanyaki is so good and resonable price. We had great time.
Wonderful meal with friends. Great tasting food, entertaining staff.
The food was excellent; so fresh and flavourful. Our chef was personable and friendly. They offer so many options. Service was great. We were there for the experience and it didnt fall short. One thing I found is a variance in price between the menus for drinks. I pointed it out but was brushed off. There is quite a difference in what is written on menu from what was billed. I didnt want to make a scene but I doubt they have changed it. It still made for a great date night.
Excellent!
I think they were severely understaffed, since it took asking several times and 30 minutes of waiting for a drink refill. It took an hour from the time we got there for our reservation until the teppenyaki chef started on our food. This restaurant has seemed to have gone downhill in recent years, Im hoping for a comeback for them
First time going to Suisha Gardens and it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was delicious and our chef was Denis (Dat). He put on a great show and was a tremendous host.
Excellent food and service
Dietary restrictions: Very careful with shellfish allergy, tell them ahead of time. Food
Good quality food without being very expensive! I would definitely be a reoccurring customer if I lived around the area.
I made a reservation for two at the regular table yesterday night for 7:30PM. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time slot. Upon arrival, a female employee walked past us several times without acknowledging us and when she did, we were instructed to sit in their waiting area. It is important to note that the place was not busy and there were plenty of empty tables. We waited for more than 20 minutes in the waiting area and ended up just walking out. What is the point of making reservations for it not to be honoured? Going to Popeyes or KFC is honestly better. At least they are fast and you will definitely get your food. I would not recommend going to this place unless you enjoy waiting for more than 30 minutes to get seated and probably longer for the food to arrive.
We just love it!
Everything was delicious, services was A+. Only thing I would of liked was soy paper option for the sushi rolls, I was really craving some rolls I just cant do the seaweed wrap. But 10/10 regardless.
Just re-opened Aug 15 2017. Excellent food and service, one of the best Japanese restaurants in the region.
Wonderful place. The decorations are amazing but we can leave that aside. The food is fantastic. No words. Everything is so fresh and tasty. I usually don t leave reviews but I ve been to this place a lot and it s always never fails to satisfy me.
Good food wonderful entertaining chef reasonable prices
It had been a few years since we had been and it was excellent! I got the vegetarian teppan, and my husband was surprised by the amount of tofu I got! My daughter got the childrens chicken meal, and we have so much left over! My son got the udon soup bowl and it was delicious! The teppan chef was very nice and it is always a fascinating show to watch it being cooked in front of you! The shop closed before we could go in, but in the past we have grabbed snacks there as we waiting for our food. They have started a private room karaoke, and they allowed us to see the room and equipment. Unfortunately the room is open from 9:30-11:30 so not appropriate for us at this life stage, so it is just about the food and fun snacks! I had the watermelon pop and the bottle is very fascinating with the marble! The building is run down, but there are so many details in side - like the water wheel, and wishing well, and large trees - that they are not noticed at first!! The food and ambiance are amazing! Vegetarian options: The vegetarian teppan grill was delicious - lots of tofu (you can see it in the photo) well seasoned with dipping sauces available. As above, the chef asked if she should use different utensils for my food. Dietary restrictions: I am a vegetarian, but dont mind if my food touches the same surface and utensils as meat, but the chef asked me as she began - so would have accommodated if that was my preference! Parking: Parking is on site, right next to the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Food came out quickly, and they were very entertained by the food being cooked in front of them!
The food is really nice, my kids like the udon and tempura. The slice of salmon sashimi slice is slightly thin but taste fresh.
My absolute favorite meal in all of Niagara Falls and maybe - everywhere ! It s truly a hidden gem. The outside is very unassuming but the I fertile is beautiful with a water wheel, a fireplace and a decorative tree. In addition to having a really nice interior There is no other resturant I have experienced where I have truly loved every single item put in front of me. From the soup to the salad to the fried rice to the veggies and finally, the best part, the entrees. We get steak and shrimp and it is mind blowing everytime. Use the sauces! I eat every bite of the food they serve and it is so amazingly good. At the end we get a small bowl of ice cream - try the green tea! I am not generally a fan of anything green tea flavored but I love this ice cream. This is also the only teppenyaki place where I ve had a female chef (which we LOVE!!!) not once but twice! There are no words for how Much we love eating here.
This is a good place for a special day, for example a birthday. Good taste and wonderful event for cooking.
Not sure if it was an off night, but we arrived at 5:30pm for my mom s birthday and didn t get out of there until after 8pm because the service was so slow. They forgot about our appetizers, and burned the calimari/tasted freezer burned. We had to ask for things multiple times because they kept forgetting..drinks, napkins etc. The cook must have been new, because she cooked everything out of order and the beef was over cooked and chewy. Shrimp served after beef was eaten? We were also served a plate of bean sprouts at the end with nothing else to accompany it?? Forgot two of our deserts, and gave us the wrong bill. When we got the right bill it was $150 more. Luckily we are honest or they would have been out a lot. The couple beside us got tired of waiting for desert and bill that the wife left, and the husband got the wrong bill too. For $400 I feel like it was a little disappointing plates weren t even cleared. Last time we were there it was awesome. :(
Its to long to take orders and food its not good quality
Love it there go whenever I can, Japanese beer selection is worth trying
Huge place. Really Japanese. Everyone was super nice and the food was delicious. The prices are very decent.
Had a fantastic tappan experience. We clearly had the new cook but she bounced back from a few tech difficulties w/ grace and stamina. We LOVED her cooking style and her food. YUM-TACULAR!! The dumpling appetizers were some of the best lve ever had. Ive had lots of Japanese food and this was GOLD. They had a huge selection of beers and wine to chose from. The place was not full but busy. We didnt ever feel rushed, and the attention was certainly there when we needed it. The ladys was clean as was the gents. Certainly not updated but not horrible. Because of the time we had reserved, parking was a challenge. The staff assisted me (lm not terribly bright) w/ directions and didnt seem to have run out of energy to tell me where to go. They were lovely and professional. If anyone wants a superior, and interactive meal/entertainment package...look no further. Well be back.
It was a very average sushi. The tempura shrimps were not crispy. The wakame was served in very little quantity. The ginger was in tiny bags. So very little ginger. The soy was extremely salty. And the rolls were mediocre. So I dont recommend it.
Amazing and authentic food, the chefs and owner are amazing and will go above and beyond to make your dinner memorable.
Great place for a relaxed dinner, everything was fresh and delicious.
Dont let the outside fool you, this restaurant is nice. A lot nicer than you can tell from the outside. The sushi was ok, we didnt try anything too daring but the california roll was good. The Miso Ramen however, was excellent. If youre ordering take out, make sure to ask for extra soy sauce, they only gave us one package for pretty big Bento Box.
Little hidden gem in Niagara. I was worried before going to this place because reviews were all different. We decided to give it a try since we wanted to have teppantaki. We booked the table since it was a must for teppanyaki. Its because they only have one teppanyaki chef who only cooks one table at a time. We waited for about 20min to be seated then got the drinks and waited another 30min because chef prepares for all the bbq ingredients after we order. Then we started to eat for another 30. Everything was little slow because they are short in hands. But other then being slow everything was quite nice. All servers were friendly and food was fresh. Entrance of the restaurant was cool. So if you dont mind of little wait I recommend you this place.
Had a great time at the teppanyaki table, went for a birthday dinner and our chef was amazing! Great food and amazing service! Highly recommend this place! Parking: Lots of parking, close to restaurant
Just an expensive experience with not-so-good food. Service was very slow-- took over an hour just to get apps, then another 30 mins to start dinner. Fried rice was very tasty but veggie (very overcooked) and beef was not good. Would not recommend based on price and quality.
Pros: We ordered takoyaki, stem shrimp, and other.... and the food táasted great. Price is affordable and the ambience is chill and relax Cons: Waiting time is a bit long and the place is located a bit far from city centre. Recommended dishes
Food was good. I liked tge experience and our hibachi chef, Yuri was amazing! She did a great job.
Location is very sketchy, its in an industrial area not far from Clifton hill. Restaurant needs to remove a lot of signs which are everywhere. Chef and food was excellent, we all had the tepanyaki dinners! Weve been coming for years, and hope some changes will be made!
It was fine. The atmosphere is really nice in a big open space that gave a sense of privacy while eating. I went for sushi. It was not one of the best sushi Ive ever had, but nothing to complain about.
Such an amazing place. The hibachi was amazing. They made a choo choo train with fire and smoke. Food was cooked perfectly.
Reasonable prices, excellent sushi. Fantastic atmosphere. Will definitely visit again!
Food was so good but we waited at our table for an hour!!! and it wasn t even busy! We were placed far in the back and the time we waited could ve been for a better placement in the restaurant!
Food was awesome.
This was the worst experience Ive ever had at this restaurant, i asked for extra mushrooms to be told there wasnt any, then the cook said yes only to be given less than a normal meal. Food was cold before we had a chance to eat the meat, suishi wasnt wrapped good enough, had to eat with a fork, kids meal came with ice cream and we ordered an extra, never got either, only the bill. The place looked like a broken down warehouse, paint coming off the walls,no foliage around the water wheel, nothing worth taking pictures of, and to have mt body reject the food for the next 6 hours.Spend more money on quality and less training on ridiculous show by the cook, hire more chefs that know how to prepare and serve this type of meal. Not worth the money, will not go back
Extremely slow service and rude head waitress. The food was less than average, not at all impressive. Please I beg of you to stay away from this awful restaurant if you re ever visiting Niagara
One of my favorite places to eat. Been going for over 30 years. Absolutely love everything on the menu
Vegetarian options: Full vegetarian options available Kid-friendliness: Limited kid specific dinners Food : 4/5 |
Feels like home. Food is amazing too!
When Im in Niagara, this is my go to place. Been dining here since the 90s! Amazing food and great service
It smells inside the restaurant. Arrived around 7 and was told there would be a 15 minute wait for the next table and were told to have a seat in the back of the waiting area. 2 other groups of people were seated but they forgot about us and when I went to ask when the next table was available they gave us a seat and said it was ready now and sat us down in an area with 3 other empty tables. We ordered and they gave us 2 wrong dishes and completely forgot once. The sushi was okay left before they gave us the last one because it took so long. The workers were at least friendly but overall experience was bad.
Good food but not great service. Had to ask for drinks more than once and water was never offered. Isnt water kinda standard? 7 people sitting with no drinks and you didnt think to ask if anyone wanted something? Bean sprouts came to the plate after the meal was done. Kinda strange not all served at once. Its ok there at best. Hibachi in Burlington us way better service and price
Wife found this one too. A hidden gem in Niagara region for sure. We went for teppanyaki and the prices were amazing. Our chef was wonderful, always had a smile on her face, and made the entire experience fun for the whole family. The staff in general was very polite and attentive. Allot for ~1.5-2hrs of dining time if you are doing the teppanyaki (highly recommended!!), and if you want to see the giant shrimp flambe fireball, make sure someone in your party orders the shrimp teppanyaki!! My daughter loved it and when I asked what she would rate Suisha Gardens out of 5 stars, she said 10!
Charming restaurant. The food took a little long to arrive but it was totally worth it as the food tasted amazing! Its a little hidden location-wise, but the inside is fantastic as there are many different Japanese like scenes inside the restaurant, including a beautiful Japanese water mill. The cost is pretty fair as well. The service is polite and welcoming. Parking: There are free parking spots on the side of the building, on the side of the Japanese kyo-mart.
Waiting time was bad, served 3 people that arrived after us then they gave us a table that they ignored for 15 min, DO NOT GO THERE!!!
Long long waiting time for sitting, they sit several parties before us without reservation. They completely ignored us. Dont go there.
Worst restaurant ever. very dirty, The waiters were unfriendly, the food was poor and overpriced. Food
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere despite being incredibly unassuming from the outside. Prices are very reasonable, service was fast and kind, and the food was beautiful and delicious!
Horrible service. The waitress was very unfriendly and we waited for 30minutes without anyone arranging any tables and it was not busy. You get more pleasant service in McDonald s than this terrible place. Don t waste your money
A little treasure off the tourist trap in Niagara falls
My boyfriend and I went on a 2 day trip to Niagara Falls to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We decided to try this restaurant. We called ahead of time and thank GOD we did as it is by RESERVATIONS only!. There is on site parking on the side of the restaurant which is very convenient. The outside looks a bit run down but once you enter it is a pretty atmosphere. The person in the front desk was very friendly, we told them we had a reservation and we were asked to sit in the waiting area. Our waiter was okay, we wish she would have asked us how our food was or if there was anything we needed. We ordered a moshi moshi which is meant to be an alcoholic beverage but tasted mainly like pineapple juice. The food was okay as well. We order the chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura, green dragon roll. Overall it was an okay experience. We were grateful for the experience of trying Japanese food & how close it was to our air bnb.
Very reasonable prices , dated , inexperienced staff
I love the hibachi dinner here. My partner and I visited over the Christmas holiday, and we were pleased with the decorations and greenery in the waiting area / lobby. The restaurant is also connected to the Japanese grocery store next door, which was an easy cross over to grab a few snacks. The staff here were very kind and welcoming. They were also attentive to ensuring we had all our foods served, our utensils, and refilling our water cups regularly. That was nice. The chef there was talented and entertaining to watch, as she prepared our meals in-person, on the grill. Our meals were served freshly cooked, and we spared no leftovers when we finished. We had booked a reservation ahead of time, and suggest you do the same if you plan to visit on weekends or Friday evenings. In conclusion, Suisha Gardens easily passed as one of the top hibachi grills within the Niagara falls area. Vegetarian options: Non-meat items available on the menu. Parking: Small parking lot on the side of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Located on the ground floor.
Great experience and food definitely a great family place to go out and enjoy dinner and a funny little cooking show
Always wonderful! We enjoy going with friends and reserving a teppanyaki table. Food is amazing, the service is great (and entertaining), and the atmosphere is genuine. Definitely a great evening! Dietary restrictions: We go with a friend who has celiac disease, and she is able to eat confidently.
Tbh, its the worst experience I have ever had with a Japanese restaurant. The server was so confused that she brought us the wrong order. And we didnt say anything because my boyfriend didnt want to spoil mood. And then she didnt even serve us any extra sauce that we order on side. And then we called some other sever over there to complete the order the items were missing, which was ridiculous. We paid a lot for this dinner. And services were awful.
Nice one!
When we visit the falls we definitely make sure to stop here. The staff are always friendly and the food is delicious.
Everything here was amazing! We had an early reservation (5:15pm) so the restaurant was quite empty when we arrived, but that was also nice because we got to enjoy the quiet. All of the staff were friendly and polite, and the chef really made our night as the food was cooked right in front of it. Everything tasted very fresh, and was just the right portion size. We will definitely be back! Also definitely upgrade to the fried rice, it might have been the best $5 weve ever spent.
Loved it. The Chef that prepared our food right in front of us was professional, friendly and amazing. This restaurant is authentic, real Japanese, unlike some others. They dont charge you any extra tourist tax or extra service charge. Very honest and most of all, yummy. Ps, the scallop was to die for. Oh and the tempura ice-cream too. Vegetarian options: Teppanyaki offers vegetarian option! Parking: Plenty Kid-friendliness: They have Kids menu
A great spot if you re looking for a quiet Friday night dinner spot that has a delicious selection to choose from, I highly recommend the ramen.
First visit. the chef was very entertaining and the food was wonderful.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Suisha Garden in Niagara Falls, and I must say that it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The lack of customer service, from the owner to the servers, was appalling, and the only redeeming factor was the minimal effort put forth by the male busser. First and foremost, the timing of the food delivery was a complete disaster. Our entrees arrived in different waves, with each dish coming out at a completely different time. It was an incredibly frustrating and disjointed dining experience. To make matters worse, our last guest had to wait a staggering hour after everyone else had been served to finally receive her food. We were forced to sit there patiently, growing increasingly hungry and irritated. What was even more disheartening was the complete absence of an apology or any form of acknowledgment from the management. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the situation, the response we received was simply, We are extremely busy. Im sorry, but that excuse doesnt hold water. The restaurant did not seem overly crowded, and it is not an acceptable reason for such poor service. To add insult to injury, the kids meals were a disaster. They took a whopping 50 minutes to arrive, leaving the children hungry and restless. And to top it off, when the food finally did arrive, the kids absolutely despised it. It was a major disappointment for them, and as a parent, it was disheartening to witness their disappointment. Considering the abysmal level of service, the chaotic timing of the meals, and the complete disregard for customer satisfaction, I can confidently say that this will be my last visit to Suisha Garden. I expected so much more from a restaurant, especially in a tourist destination like Niagara Falls. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment and avoid this establishment at all costs. There are plenty of other dining options in the area that will provide a far superior experience.
I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at Suisha Garden in Niagara Falls, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. The level of service was abysmal, and the wait time for our food was completely unjustified, especially considering the lack of customers in the restaurant. First and foremost, the service we received was terrible. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the staff lacked basic courtesy and attentiveness. Our server seemed disinterested and rarely checked on our table. It was difficult to get their attention when we needed something, and when we did, their response was slow and lackluster. The most infuriating part of the experience was the excessive wait time for our food. Despite the fact that the restaurant was far from busy, our orders took an unreasonably long time to arrive. We sat there, growing hungrier by the minute, as we watched other tables receive their meals before us. It was incredibly frustrating and made us question the competence of the kitchen staff. When we finally received our food, it was mediocre at best. The flavors were bland, and the presentation was lackluster. It seemed as though little effort was put into preparing the dishes, which was disappointing considering the reputation of the restaurant. Overall, my visit to Suisha Garden was a letdown. The combination of terrible service and an unjustifiably long wait time for food left a sour taste in my mouth. I expected a much better dining experience, especially given the restaurants location in a popular tourist destination. I would caution others against dining here, as there are surely better options available in Niagara Falls that prioritize customer satisfaction and efficiency.
I recently visited Suisha Garden with my family, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. I must say that I do not recommend this restaurant, especially for families with hungry kids, as the food was terrible and the service was incredibly slow. First and foremost, the quality of the food was extremely disappointing. The flavors were bland, and the dishes lacked the freshness and authenticity that one would expect from a Japanese restaurant. It was evident that the ingredients used were of subpar quality, which greatly affected the overall taste of the dishes. We were truly looking forward to enjoying a delicious meal, but we were left feeling unsatisfied and let down. Furthermore, the wait time for our food was completely unacceptable. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, our order took over 50 minutes to arrive at our table. This prolonged wait was especially problematic considering we had young children with us. Needless to say, they were incredibly hungry and restless, which made for a rather unpleasant dining experience. The lack of attentiveness from the staff only added to our disappointment. They seemed disinterested and inattentive, making it difficult to get their attention when we needed assistance or had questions about the menu. Its disheartening when the service falls short, as it greatly impacts the overall dining experience. In conclusion, I strongly advise against visiting Suisha Garden, especially if you have children with you. The food was of poor quality, the service was slow, and young ones are likely to be left hungry and impatient due to the extensive wait times. There are certainly better dining options available where you can enjoy a satisfying meal and receive better service.
Good food. Portions were a good size. We keep going back
Not bad
Would like slightly larger portions but the atmosphere is so beautiful and the chef was awesome. Definitely a hidden gem
Always a great time! We go often and the food is always great and the staff are lovely!
Very nice, Japanese cuisine, atmosphere, prices are actually very good
Amazing teppenyaki experience. Big portion sizes !
Vegetarian options: Vegetables are properly cooked and seasoned Dietary restrictions: catered to properly. No gluten Kid-friendliness: Kid menus Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out
The interior design is good. The pork is way too fatty. Kimchi too salty. You can find better Japanese restaurant in this town.
This one of those diamond-in-the-rough restaurants. It doesnt look special from the outside, but the food is sooo good.
Had not been here is a few years. Previously very happy with experience. This time, as others have commented, the service was slow, we had to ask to be seated at Teppanyaki table 15 minutes after our reservation. We were just left sitting in the lounge without anyone asking us for drinks/appetizers etc. The most disappointing was that even though the food was excellent the execution of Teppanyaki dinner was not timed well so we ate our meat, veggies and rice separately because they were not served at the same time. Not great for $300 bill for 6 people.
The restaurant is a little far from the center, the food was very tasty!!! The service is good and courteous, it is possible, by reservation in advance, to sit next to the chef who demonstrates the cooking with all kinds of gimmicks
Very nice place! We didnt have a reservation, but that was not a problem. We were there on a Wednesday evening, so the restaurant wasnt busy. The staff were very nice and polite, and the food arrived quickly. We had fried vegetables and chicken, gyoza, sushi and Japanese green tea. Everything was delicious. We would definitely come back again!
Found this restaurant by chance, got there a little bit before closing and the two of us had a lovely time. The hostess was great, she brought out some incredible herbs that we have never tried before, informed us that they grow them in their own garden on site, which was fascinating. The service was prompt, staff were great to us. We paid like $60 and left feeling full and satisfied (we ordered more than what s in this pic and we re too busy for pictures). Ask for their spicy mayo cause it s no joke and so good. The online menu is a bit challenging to navigate but it s ok. We would come here again next time we re in Niagara Falls, ON.
Food is good but the service is very very slow.
I really loved my visit. The Chef was amazing and all the staff was kind and helpful. This is a good place to visit.
Food was good. Been coming here for years and starting to notice the portions are getting smaller.
Authentic Ramen from Okinawa .
Nice sushi spot in the Niagara region. I enjoyed the sushi plate as well as the Japanese alcohol. They have teppanyaki with cooks performing those cool tricks with the flames.
We have been to this restaurant twice, ordering from the regular menu both times. The food selection is relatively limited compared to the other sushi restaurants we have been to, but the service is pretty good.
Ordered take out, Took awhile to get the food once I got there, I did add a salmon sushimi when I arrived, shouldnt have Taken 30 extra minutes. Took the food back to the hotel and forgot about the long wait, amazing tasting food, fresh and good preparation. Food
2023.11 Every meal is good. Next door is their own grocery store. We bought refrigerated teppanyaki noodles there and took them back to the restaurant to cook ourselves. They were quite delicious.
This was the worst, most overpriced Teppan Yaki our family has ever had. First off, for $40 you get steak and shrimp, sounds not bad, you get 3 shrimp only, the steak was the worst cut I have ever seen, with 1.5 of fat on the end of it. To upgrade to fried rice was another $6/meal! $6, its rice!!!!! The steak was not even seasoned when put on the grill, simply cooked and plated. The cook was a real nice guy, but he was the slowest cook we have ever seen do this, it took him over an hour to cook all our food!!!!. One of our party waited for salman for 1hr before she got her meat, the rest of her food was stone cold and the rest of the party had almost eaten completely. He put one item on the grill at a time, occasionally two, and it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our food. On top of all of that, there was simply not enough food to go around, we each received less than a cup of rice each, and the vegetables was a joke, they should have called it mixed onion, my plate was honestly 90% onions, with a couple mushrooms and a few zucchini!! I have never seen a place go so cheap on rice and vegetables, normally these places you have a lot of food before the meat comes out, not here, in many cases you have a doggy bag, haha not here. Most of us ate the rice/veg before the meat even came out. The soup and salad was excellent and was the only thing positive in this entire experience. Our bill was $360 for 6 people, 2 drinks, this place should be ashamed to serve such BRUTALLY overpriced, terrible food. I cant for the life of me understand how this place got a 4.3 star. Btw, I hope you like karaoke blasting in the an attached room right beside the main dining area with drunks coming out continually through your meal. Wow, what a joint.
Food is delicious here, but service is frustratingly slow.
My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary, it was my first time at a hibachi restaurant. It was SUCH a good experience. The food was amazing and we loved the atmosphere. The servers and the chef were all very friendly and made us feel welcome. Definitely want to go here again!
Great experience here. Chef Mariko is all smiles and very friendly to my kids. Kid-friendliness: Seeing food being cooked in front of kids is a great experience. Friendly chef. Food : 5/5 |
Top notch Japanese food, amazing atmosphere and great service. The food is quick to the table and so so good. Make it a dinner destination or youre missing out.
