Serving Traditional Japanese Comfort Foods since 1988
This place smelled proper once we entered... we had high hopes... it looked the part of a Japanese restaurant... traditional designs... clean and simple arrangement... servers greeted us promptly and tea was served properly in ceramic pot and cups... that's where the good stopped... menu was concise... that is to say it's very small and there are not many options... it's not a sushi 🍣 🍣 😞 haven... what we ordered came within seconds and was tiny portion... leads us to believe it was premade... ;(.. udon bowl was very good.. I think if you stay away from the expectation of good sushi everything else may be passable... price was ok... but after eating here we were still hungry and looking for alternatives... eel Maki was ok at best... crispy spicy salmon was not crispy... mostly spicy... good luck.. ho ho no.
If you wanna the most authentic Japanese food in Niagara Falls, this is the exact restaurant you should go. The food is so delicious and the service is wonderful. We appreciate the chef and the staff very much.👍👍👍
Step into a Japanese oasis with authentic cuisine and service. The food was so fresh and delicious, the chef was super nice, and the staff was professional, 5 star hospitality!
Surprisingly solid little Japanese restaurant right near the hotel strip of Niagara falls. Went back twice and enjoyed everything we ordered. The chirashi was fresh, ten don fried to perfection, katsu don(not pictured) used an actual thicker pork cutlet. Popular with Asian diners, expect wait times during peak hours. Clean bathrooms.
The sauce for the seafood (salmon, Saba, Ika ) is very savory but not salty at all! Ika Yaki has the nice charcoal flavor Salmon and Saba are grilled to the perfection. Crispy and juicy. Katsu is crispy and juicy too! Nice meal before 张敬轩 concert. Very good Japanese food
This was the first meal we had in Niagara Falls and we were overall happy with the choice. It was not particular special but gave you the feeling of homemade comfort food, which was all we needed after a long journey. The seatings weren't particular great because it was quite crowded and distance between tables were very tight. Other than that, we had a good time.
This restaurant is nestled in a lovely, peaceful area - a little hidden gem! The food and service are fantastic. I loved how they served the teriyaki on a sizzling platter. They also had this sweet elderly gentleman, probably the owner, who took the time to chat with the customers. It was such a nice touch!
We decided to eat at YUKIGUNI before arriving at Niagra as we love Japanese food and found it on Google Maps. A really authentic place with a great choice of food and some local beers. Reminded us of Japan. The hosts speak Japanese and Japanese speaking locals call in too. I would recommend highly.
Great traditional Japanese food
The food is very good with nice prise and we had lively waitress recommen!
Nice food and services. Kids friendly and reasonable price. Food
Very lovely and tasty Japanese restaurant. Very affordable prices and good menu options. A must visit for people visiting Niagara.
Very good standard of Japanese food. Worth coming here. Thanks.
Owner was very sweet and the food was delicious, we ordered a katsudon and sashimi lunch. We went on a weekday around 12.30pm and it wasn t very busy.
Excellent food! Great customer service!
My husband and I were driving around and found this place. Some of the best fatty tuna I have ever had. A must stop if you like fine Japanese dining at a reasonable price in Niagara Falls.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I ve been to. Could easily compete with any high quality Japanese/sushi restaurant in the GTA. Very high quality seafood and very generous portion sizes. Amazing quality food especially considering its moderate price. Absolutely shocking how good this restaurant is. Would recommend 12/10!!!
Really good sushi. We found ourselves walking downtown and this place had good reviews. Great service and food!
It was delicious. The seasoning is perfect.
This place is a hidden gem that we were lucky enough to stumble on! It s close enough to the main stretch to make it a quick walk. The staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. The food was fresh and delicious! The portions are also very generous. We got the chicken teriyaki which came on a sizzle platter with soup and salad as a side, rolls and an app. Very reasonably priced and left with enough for a second meal!! Check this place out ! Kid-friendliness: Very friendly atmosphere
If youre looking for a super traditional Japanese restaurant, you owe it to yourself to eat here. Small spot with attentive wait staff and quick turnaround for your food. Try the Katsu-don for a perfect replication of what you would get it in Kobe.
I ve been to Yukiguni a number of times now and have tried nearly everything on the menu, and every visit is just as great as the last. The staff is always incredibly kind, which makes the experience feel even more special. As for the food, it really takes me back to Japan every time so authentic and consistently amazing. The karaage and steak teriyaki are my personal favourites, always cooked to perfection. Whether it s my first visit or my fifth, the quality is always 10/10. Highly recommend this place if you re in the Niagara Falls area!
This was the best Japanese food I ve had while living in Canada. The server was incredibly kind and cheerful, which made the meal even more enjoyable. If I visit Niagara again, I will definitely return to this place
Little piece of paradise in the middle of an area that is anything but welcoming. A warm welcome awaits you in an authentic Japanese atmosphere where the food is excellent. Do it again!
A little know gem in the tourist district of Niagara Falls. Great food, service and very reasonable prices.
Reasonable price nice service. We ordered Katsu don. It might be a lot for someone but i was so contented because i love rice. Matcha ice cream was fantastic. I really wanted rice, so I ordered katsudon. The portion was a bit large, but I ate it all because I was really hungry. It may be a bit bland, but you can season it with soy sauce on the side. The gyoza was just like that. Matcha ice cream is very delicious. The price is reasonable too. Very friendly staff
Best restaurant in this area, good food and price is very reasonable
We ordered sushi rolls, the roll size was probably the smallest Ive seen in 5 years. The food was not bad though and was served fast Food
Authentic, authentic, authentic. Food is amazing and very much worth the price. The service they provide is very welcoming, feels like youre in Japan. HIGHLY highly recommend.
Lovely sushi! We got an assortment of sushi and sashimi with soup, salad, and the squid. It was all delicious and the service was excellent - kind and timely.
It was really delicious and the atmosphere was really nice... I was happy. My friend said it was the best place Ive eaten in Toronto for over half a year!! I also had no idea that Japanese food could be so delicious in Toronto haha. Please definitely order salmon teriyaki!!! chrasidon is also good value for money! As for soba, I actually wanted to eat cold soba, but I was surprised to see hot soba. Even the soba noodles were delicious! I highly recommend the Falls and a great meal here
I visited during my trip to Canada. Some of the staff can speak Japanese, so I felt safe using the facility. The quality of the food was the same as when I was in Japan, and it was very delicious! The rice (vinegared rice) is delicious! ! The way the sushi was held and the amount was just right and it was delicious. The tempura was also crispy! If I have a chance to go to Niagara Falls again, I would like to eat here.
August 2024 Edit: We re back! This is now our favourite place to eat at least once in Niagara! Ordered a Nabeyaki Udon, Katsu-Don, Eel Avocado Roll and Futomaki Roll. Absolutely fantastic! Original Post: Wanted a decent food alternative to all the typical Niagara Falls coupon places. Honestly thought the not all you can eat sign was the cutest thing ever. Looks like a family restaurant, and the warmth and friendliness of the service reflected that. Not the most patient people ever, maybe because of language barriers, but definitely well above average in this category. The food is food, reflects both value and quality. Ordered the Unagi-Don, Jake Soba, the Spicy Scallop roll and the Red Dragon roll. Everything tasted as one would expect, with the exception of the Scallop roll not being spicy. Would definitely come back in the future to enjoy a light hearted meal.
Fabulous food and fair prices!
Amazing restaurant in Niagara Falls. It s really nice and refreshing finding this gem in this town where most restaurants feel like tourists traps. It was also the first time my parents tried Japanese food and they loved it.
Attentive and friendly staff. Excellent food, homemade and fresh. Without a doubt, the best establishment we have visited in Niagara Falls. To recommend and repeat
Simply exquisite, the place clean and friendly, perfect service but above all the food was very delicious I would return without hesitation.
Tempura was added along with the udon, but the tempura did not come out until all the udon was eaten. Worst service. Tempura was canceled, but there was no follow-up action. Absolutely no visits
Best traditional Japanese cuisine Ive tried so far! I had dinner with my girlfriend in this restaurant, and I was enthusiastic and delighted by the goodness of every single course. Very fresh fish and delicious noodles! If you are in Niagara Falls stop by this restaurant! Fair prices, excellent service Thanks for everything
this was the best place i ve eaten sushi for a long time. very authentic, good pricing. the chef is an old japanese gentleman. if you have allergies - the place will accommodate.
Super friendly staff and quick service. The food was really good too. Can t wait to come back next time we re in Niagara.
We came across this lovely restaurant while trying to figure out what to have for lunch. From the minute we walked it, it was one of the best experiences we have had during our whole trip. The atmosphere was great, the service was great and the food was fantastic. We liked it so much, that we plan on going back again for a second time before we leave. Definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant.
An astonishingly tasty gem at the end of the Niagara strip. A variety of items (sushi, rolls, gyoza, tonkatsu) all turned out amazing. No notes, hands down the best priced, most impressive food you ll find in Niagara. Worth the walk
Honestly this place deserves better rating. This is the best Japanese restaurant I have ever tried. Everything is so delicious and authentic! Tempura is so crisp and soft at the same time, and their katchu donburi is such a gem. Udon noodles thickness is adequate (perfect to my taste) and udon soup base tastes amazing. I wish I can dine there every evening. The owner and staffs are incredibly kind and friendly. Best of the best. When I search on the google map Japanese restaurant for some reason this place doesn t show up. You should set up in a way that your restaurant comes up as a result so more and more people taste your amazing foods.
Not a buffet
I was impressed that I could eat so much sushi and soba in Canada. thank you. Thank you for the meal.
As soon as you enter, you can tell that this place offers authentic Japanese food. Most of the customers here are genuine Japanese people, which is a refreshing change compared to other Japanese restaurants where there are no Japanese customers and the food doesnt resemble authentic Japanese cuisine. There are also Japanese staff members, and it seems the restaurant has been run by Japanese people for many years. This is my second visit, and I was not disappointed. I was pleased to find food that meets the expectations of Japanese people, even in Canada. However, if I could make a suggestion, it would be to offer a set menu for nigiri sushi. Ordering each piece individually can become quite expensive, so having a set of ten pieces at a fixed price would be much appreciated. Other than that, there were no issues. The customer service was excellent, paying attention to the smallest details, just as one would expect in Japan. Unlike other restaurants, where tables might not be properly cleaned, everything here was spotless, making the experience pleasant. Thank you.
Best food in town hands down. Saki is amazing as well
A perfect meal, highly recommended!
Delicious food, friendly service. Highly recommend eating here.
Excellent food. Authentic Japanese dinners and sushi. The Tonkatsu and Tempera rolls were excellent. Surprised to see poor reviews. There was no charge for tea or water. A couple of negative reviews complaining about a $1 charge for tea. These complaints and poor reviews are not accurate. There is no charge for tea or water. I suspect these reviewers are dishonest or confused. Parking is free in a small lot to the left and behind the restaurant. A real treat compared to the parking fees everywhere else along the streets. Parking: Free parking in a small lot to the left of the restaurant.
We ordered takeouts. The good was great. service was fast, the server was nice and accommodating to our rush order.
Cozy and authentic japanese restaurant with excellent food and nice japanese music in the background. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!! Food
It was my first time visiting this store, and it was a very nice store. I was able to enjoy delicious Japanese food.
Ika yaki, grass fed teriyaki steak, shrimp tempura were great.
Do not recommend. Service was slow and not welcoming, food tastes like paper. Service: We have been waiting for more than 50 minutes before we could get a seat. Waiting area is so small that a lot of people need to stand with only 2 seats. We heard the waitress saying sorry for waiting to another table of customers because they were also waiting for a long time. However, we didn t hear anything from the waitress as if nothing had happened. During the entire dinner, the waitress didn t come here and check in at all. There was no service except for serving and cleaning the table. Food: food was normal, the don I ordered was not warm enough, it feels like it s not freshly made and has been put aside for a while. My friend ordered a soba (cold noodles) and it literally tasted like paper for the texture and aftertaste. Atmosphere: normal Japanese restaurant atmosphere, not outstanding.
Cozy, homey, and friendly atmosphere. The staff were so nice so friendly. And the best part was the food ofc, delicious authentic, with complex flavors and not to mention homemade sauces. Best food I have had in years. Faith in humanity restored. 100/10 Food
Service was great and food taste amazing very authentic Food
I took my family here and the staff were so sweet and efficient. The food was very delicious. The yakatori was some of the best Ive had at a restaurant. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. Im only visiting the area for a short time, but might be back before we leave.
The Japanese food here is quite good, and the ingredients are very fresh, but I never feel full whenever I have Japanese cuisine.
Great food and service, unassuming location. We were so happy to find this place and eat dinner here instead of all the fast food places.
Best Japanese Restaurants around Niagara Falls. The food was authentic Japanese cuisine and had a relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of the Japanese countryside. We visited the store every day for three days during our stay in Niagara, and the store staff recognized us as regulars. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the food is delicious, so if youre visiting Niagara, definitely give it a try
Awesome service, excellent food, definitely recommend!
It was the most delicious Japanese food Ive had since coming to America! It was a popular restaurant that filled up as soon as it opened. When two families used the service, the store staff suggested that we split the bill. The customer service is amazing! It was the most delicious Japanese food Ive had since coming to America! Its a popular restaurant that fills up immediately after opening. We went with two families. The waiter offered to split the bill for us. Great customer service! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal
it is delicious. I added tempura to the udon and ate the donburi, and it was delicious. Since I went to the US and Canada, the price felt cheaper.
Honestly had low expectations based on location and surrounding of the restaurant. You know what they say don t judge a restaurant by its building? Anyhow food was excellent, broth was light and tasty. Mackerel was near perfect. Our 3 kids combined gave a total of 5 thumbs up
Everything is spectacular. The attention, the food, the tranquility of the place. I recommend the katsu-don and the teriyaki salmon. I would return! Normal prices.
Loved this place! Very authentic. We know our way around Japanese food, and this did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. My son (14) begs me to come here every time we visit the area. And great spot to eat at, away from all the touristy chain restaurants.
authentic Japanese comfort food with a small, focused menu. super good, i recommend the mackerel.
Very authentic Japanese food. Price is reasonable, service is great, sashimi is fresh and tasty, will definitely come again.
Loved this place. The friendliest service in a laid back, family run style atmosphere. Had sushi and tempora vegetables and both were great.
Value for money is great! Quality is way beyond what i paid for. Service was really great as well and very accommodating to our dietary restrictions.
Wanted to experience something outside of Italian or American food so I found this Gem. Upon entering I was greeted by the staff. The atmosphere of the shop was calm and quiet for an intimate evening. Our waiter was very attentive. The food was amazing. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and my partner had the Beef Teriyaki. I wish I ordered the beef. 1 bite of that steak and my heart melted. The meat was cooked to perfection and so tender. The salad and Miso soup was also very good. I ended the meal with a cup of hot tea and felt so satisfied upon leaving the restaurant. A great spot for a family meal or an intimate date with a loved one.
An amazingly authentic restaurant in this incredibly touristy city. Very tasty food and very good service.
The rolls/sushi were really good and fresh. The price was very reasonable. They even have green tea beer, which was so refreshing. The only complaint I have is the udon - the broth was salty. I wanted to come back to the restaurant the following day for lunch, but unfortunately, they are not open on Thursdays. There are lots of parking spots on site. I will definitely come back to eat next time Im ever in Niagara!
THE BEST restaurant in the area. If I ever go back to Niagara Falls, Ill eat at this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner all days everyday. Food is delicious and price is very reasonable. Other restaurants we tried including Johnny Rocco, Falls Grill and Bar were just overrated and way overpriced.
Note: Although it is Japanese food, there is no ramen. Instead, udon is made by hand. It may be confusing because it is far from the downtown area, but I think it is by far the best home-cooked Japanese food you can experience in Canada. If you go, sushi and rice bowls are good, but grill food is the best. You may think that the amount is small. If I visit Niagara Falls again, I will definitely stop by.
Soooooo Good!!!! Very nice!! Very delicius!!
Authentic Japanese restaurant. The food portions were great for the price, and the food itself was even better. Would definitely recommend eating here.
The service was impeccable, the store is actually japanese owned and the portions are really big. Im 6 foot 3 220lbs and was filled completely by the full portion pork katsu and gyoza. Also food is authentic and delicious.
Local place. Good food. Nice service. Great change of pace from all the chain restaurants, fried foods, and other mediocre and unhealthy food in the area. Prices are typical for a restaurant such as this.
I had the Oyako don, crunchy spicy tuna roll, and yakitori. Everything was delicious and service was courteous. Best to make a reservation if you don t want to wait but it s definitely worth waiting for.
The food quality is not that good, after eating, me and my friends weren t feeling good with stomach.
Very authentic food. Udon looked like it was made in-house. Sushi was simple yet delicious!
We stopped by because we missed Japanese food! I had soba and plum shiso rolls, and he had sushi and gyoza Everything was delicious and had a Japanese taste. The scallops in particular are sweet, soft and plump. It was a delicious scallop that is hard to find around here. The staff were kind and the service was great I will come again.
Everything is miniature size. We got a few rolls and the cold soba. Quality is a bit disappointing and tastes similar to grocery store sushi, except the grocery store might have more fish in the rolls. The soba was okay but for 13/14$ I would have expected a bit more. The sauce was pretty flavorless as well.
Fantastic food and service. The staff are really friendly and super helpful. The ten-don is fresh and really authentic. The prices are really reasonable and the portions are very generous. Highly recommended!
Best chirashi! Even better than those in the city of Toronto! Super fresh and so many varieties in the bowl. Must try!
Amazing food + Great service
We stayed at the Doubletree across the street and loved our meal so much that we went back the next night. Friendly service and delicious food. Good for couples or families.
Very delicious food!! Loved it!! My family and I got tonkatsu, salmon and mackerel set. It was all very delicious! Its right in front the Doubletree hotel by Hilton.
great balance between quality, size and prices. When in Niagara it is a very good option if you want to eat something different from burgers, stakes and the other usual stuff. The vibe is very Japanese, the real thing.
The food is so great with reasonable price, and the staff is so friendly and they served the food in less time.
DEFINITELY A MUST-TRY AND WILL RECOMMEND FOR AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FOOD EXPERIENCE! :) When we visited Niagara falls last February, we were very pleased to have tried Yukiguni, which we really think is a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant near the area. We enjoyed all that we ordered, especially their gyoza, karaage, Japanese salad, and sushi rolls - really super yummy! From the warm vibe of the restaurant, to the hospitality of the staff, and of course the sumptuous food - everything was truly authentic and special. It is Japanese-owned and managed too, so that s really nice to know. It is definitely worth a visit if you happen to drop by Niagara falls, and will make you crave for it more afterwards. A must-try and an easy five-stars for sure! :)
The food they serve here is absolutely excellent! We had the Salmon Teriyaki and the Chirashi-Don, both dishes were mouthwateringly prepared and also the food brought to the other tables looked so nice! Also the service personnel was very helpful and super friendly, we can only recommend that place. Thanks for your excellent job, both in the kitchen and the service!
Sizzling hot. Beautiful aroma. Polite staffs. One of the best teishoku I have ever tasted.
Yukiguni used to be my favourite restaurant, their food was flavourful, the staff was tentative. But recently, the quality has gone down hill significantly: the rice was not fluffy any more, the way it was served was quite rough (rice sticking outside the bowl), the staff was just too busy to care, they just threw the dishes into the middle of the table, instead of placing in front of each customer. I hope they can improve and I will be adjust the rating.
Delicious sushi
Quiet dining environment and friendly staff
Ive been coming this Japanese restaurant for years and its consistently delicious and friendly service. I highly recommend!
Very authentic Japanese food. Both sushi and udon are very delicious
Gillette pork chop is delicious!
The only place to go in Niagara Falls for authentic Japanese sushi.
This is a great Japanese restaurant in Niagara!
Yukiguni came across our way as we were looking for something different amongst the endless fast food chains running across the Niagara Falls. It was one of the most pleasant surprises we encountered during our trip to Canada. The atmosphere and environment of the restaurant is very relaxing and peaceful. The staff is extremely attentive and nice, always asking if you need anything else or if everything is okay at your table. Lastly, I ve said it to the chef and the staff and I ll say it again, this is by far the BEST SALMON I ve ever had in my life. Needless to say the best meal during our trip and definitely written down for a re-visit anytime we go back there. Thank you again!!
Best Japanese Food !
Staff are very friendly and accomodating, we have been to different japanese restaurants and by far this is the closest to the authentic food we had when we visited tokyo. The staff shared to us that the owners/chef are japanese, a hidden gem we definitely discovered late. Will always drop by when we visit niagara.
Very cute little restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and really well priced!
This is a really good place to eat, good food, great service, old decor. Its definitely a hidden gem!
Authentic Japanese food! I visited the weekend before new year, so had to wait but it was worth the wait. Service was great. They said chefs are all Japanese. Will come by again.
I come here every time I visit Niagara Falls and love it. Great food, prices, service and a refreshing change from the craziness of the strip. Vegetarian options: Veggie maki, veggie tempura and they seem quite flexible with accommodating vegetarian options.
Really great food and service. We tried a lot of different meals and everything was so delicious and had a lot of a flavour. It was a really comforting meal on such a cold day and the staff were really accomodating and polite as well. Definitely recommend.
Great authentic Japanese food and friendly staff! Thank you!
After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes without being acknowledged before leaving. A group who came in after us were (eventually) given water and appeared to have their order taken.
Lovely little local store. Great food, wonderful service, cute little place.
Very inconspicuous but super nice and tasty Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended
I went there with no expectations, thinking it would be a typical tourist restaurant, but it was really delicious. I especially recommend the udon. Udon soup is a work of art.
Good tempura and udon
The servers are very polite and accommodating. They compensated for the small servings of the restaurants and the over price of their food. It is not all that bad but I wouldn t recommend this to those who have a lot of experience in Japanese restaurants, because you might be disappointed.
Dont offer take out once they have a family of 15 who didnt have reservations walking in & take over the location. Had hoped to try but guess not
Decent for Japanese food. My tonkastu is not even using the panko that doesnt fit my expectations (see photo, the panko is way to fine, feel more like a coarse breadcrumbs). My wife shirimp tempura udon is okay but nothing too special
Food is absolutely delicious!!!
Great hospitality, friendly and welcoming. The sushi was surprisingly fresh. I love this place and all items on the menu is fresh and yummy. You will be satisfied.
I waited for 15 minutes at noon and it was very cost-effective. With one miso soup and vegetable salad per person, you can wait for the main meal to arrive. I have never been a fan of tempura, but my travel companion ordered one, which was very good, light and not greasy. My teriyaki salmon was sizzling when served, and I smelled the aroma before I tasted it. It was served with white mushrooms and broccoli, and was garnished with silver bean sprouts. It was very good. The local Canadian beer was rich in foam. I wanted to order green tea, but it was sold out and was replaced with grapefruit. The filled candies at the checkout were not sloppy either, thank you!
This is half eaten what this is all you get for the 25$ chicken teriyaki. My husbands chirashi was lost, and we never received the food. The wait staff never checked with us or on us, hence they missed a lot. The chicken teriyaki was overly peppered, they should call it chicken pepper with teriyaki sauce on the side (literally). I m disappointed and sad for my husband who didn t get to eat dinner and now we have to go elsewhere to find him food. If you ve been to Japan, visited other Japanese restaurants, or Japanese - RUN!! Don t even think about eating here. Not a big deal but they also don t offer the menu in kid size or pricing. Reply to owner: Definitely not writing in anger. And we have been to lots of restaurants who make mistakes and own up to it. Customer service is always key. You could have come to our table when you discovered when the waitstaff asked for the chirashi order. But no action was taken at that time. An apology was offered but we were paying customers who didn t get a complete meal. As an owner, a Japanese custom, ie. would have been offering, even insisting to pack up something to go at no extra cost. Or if that wasn t an option, even offering a 20% discount off the bill or even a comp on one of the dishes. Something to show the customer that the business care for paying customers and repeat business. No matter how you feel about the situation, the customer has one view, they clearly was unhappy for not receiving a meal, and experiencing poor customer service. Everything else clearly was an add-on to what was already a poor experience. Other than the overly peppered chicken, I can say the food in generally acceptable.
The worst experience in a Japanese restaurant. We asked for two sets of saba shioyaki. They came up with one saba and one salmon. After talking to two different waitresses, the manager came with the salmon shioyaki and told us that we can have saba shioyaki but they are going to charge us for the salmon shioyaki which we didnt order. In the end, we let them leave the salmon shioyaki on the table just because we were very tired of more arguments after the 8 hours drive from the US. When we look closer at the salmon shioyaki, we realized that the dish is very dry and overcooked. No adding water and no taking away empty plates. Zero service! We tip 13% and left. Very disappointed.
Best Japanese restuarant in Ontario. Authentic cuisine and simly satisfying. Their selection of sashimi is to die for. Some of Freshest and most mouth watering sashimi Ive eaten . Soba noodles also must try!!!
Tasty and good quality food. They have a very friendly service. Will definitely come back. Food
Thank you to the reviews in Google maps we found this little gem. Never been to Japan but tried few places & I think you get transported there . Even the decoration & location of the place is special, very simple. The main reason is the food Helpful & friendly staff offering tap water or green tea as soon a you arrived. The shareable Teriyaki Salmon was delicious, came with salad, rice and miso. Yummy miso The sushi very fresh very simple, this time just salmon & avocado Very good price just 10 away from Niagara Falls Vegetarian options: No many Parking: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: Some children in the restaurant enjoying their meals Wheelchair accessibility: Few steps to get the wheelchair to the restaurant, staff helpful
Sashimi was beautifully served and theyre fresh. The grilled mackerel was awesome, tasty, and once again, fresh! Servers were so nice and the owner checked on everyone.
We came specifically because of the poor review where a customer complained about the food and the establishment explained how the customer never gave them a chance to do anything. Being in the customer service industry myself, I can attest that the customer is not always right, me and my girlfriend figured wed give them a try. We ordered the Spicy Crunchy Tuna, Spicy Crunchy Salmon, Salmon Avocado and Avocado rolls (multiples of each), along with a couple tall boys of Sapporo beer to wash it all down with. Food was delicious, and my girlfriend appreciated that they were the perfect size for her to eat. Standouts for me were the Spicy Salmon Avocado and the Spicy Crunchy Tuna. Service was great, everything was handmade to order and served FRESH. We saw a steaming platter of what looked like Chicken Teriyaki and it was STEAMING hot off the stovetop. The place is a nice, casual spot for some great sushi at reasonable prices.
This place has lunch until 4 pm. So when we came back from the sightseeing activities, it was already late for a regular lunch. We were happy to find this restaurant is still open for lunch. More important is that the food tastes good! The restaurant offers special lunch meal with very reasonable price and a fair list of choices. We had sashimi lunch and saba lunch. The saba came on a hot grilled pan, with lots of onions, bean sprouts and broccoli. We loved our dishes! They also offers the local yuzu beer, the flavor is pretty unique. We enjoyed our meal here!
Really good food! We loved the sizzling mackerel (saba)
Good Japanese food but a three star atmosphere, the price is not too crazy so I would say a good place for a family meal as Falls View Street places are pricey.
We came wanting to try the tonkatsu and grilled squid, and they were out of these. Then they don t have the pork skewers. We want to order 5 dishes and 3 were out what s the point of dining if you don t have anything on the menu?? Then the restaurant was filled with the smell of cooking, oily and greasy, making the dining experience not so pleasant. We were also seated at an AC outlet, the cold air keep blowing at me, not very comfortable.
I came here because I was missing the taste of Japan. The udon was chewy and delicious, and the tempura was crispy and delicious.
Great authentic Japanese food, kid friendly, great customer service. We will be back!
This is a great place to stop by and eat. Visited the falls for the weekend and was craving sushi. This was a place that was opening at lunch time, and I thought why not. Greatest choice ever. The servers are so polite, and the dining area is so lovely. On top of the great food, there was no wait time going in! I loved looking at the art they had displayed on the walls. I would recommend trying their unagi (eel), ended up being my favourite dish! So if you re craving sushi, stop by here!
Very Japanese food.
We went there for lunch today and were welcomed by the owner who is in this business for 35 years. He mentioned they ve been serving the same food for 35 years as well. The atmoshere was relaxed and cosy. The service was very fast and in a timely fashion. We has the lunch special so first we got miso soup. Then a salad and a dish we ordered with rice and a sauce. The food was very good and tasty and I really recommend this restaurant. It s a bit off the center but within the walking distance. I love the Japanese cuisine and their culture!
In need of an authentic Japanese meal, our family stopped here. We didn t expect much but we were wrong. The food was authentic and delicious! The staff was super nice and accommodating for our noisy children. We can recommend the fresh fish sashimi, the noodles and the agedashi tofu. It felt like Japan in Canada!
My kids favorite restaurant in the falls. They love their chicken and beef teriyaki combo. Delicious
Authentic delicious Japanese food with good selection of choices (Note: they dont serve ramen, which is typical in Japan since this is not a ramen shop). Nice staff and close proximity to the WEGO bus stop and hotels. Only here in Canada had I ever had cold soba which I used to eat a lot of in Japan
Idk how it will be for others, preferences wise, but I loved the food and the simplicity of a lot of the dishes. Even the vegetables were amazing to eat with. I would say the bathrooms are a little small but thats really it. I loved it though would go again if I could.
The portion is large and the taste is good.
Highly rated on Red, but I am very disappointed. The waitress messed up our order even though she repeated everything that I ordered, and she didnt even apologize, not to mention to check on us. And my appetizer gyoza came out at the end of the meal, Lol. Sushi did come out first, I dont know about other states, and I hate to say that any sushi helper in Jersey could make it better, not sure if that is the norm here. The Shrimp in Shrimp tempura roll is not fully cooked either, maybe that is the way it is. Salmon is not fresh, my older kid loves salmon teriyaki, but she only ate one bite. The white rice was good, she ate half of it and was done with the dinner. I should have taken more pictures, I was just too disappointed. I dont like to leave bad reviews for a business, but this is unacceptable. Clean environment, food quality, and food service are the three keys for any restaurant. I usually leave good tips for my server when I eat at a restaurant, but I was not happy with the food and service, and I didnt feel right to leave more tips this time, I ended up left her 18% tips. To be honest I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Better then other restaurants good service and family friendly and most importantly good doors for the price
Worst service we ever experienced at any restaurant! The pork-chop has no taste at all, chef must ve forgot to add any seasoning. I informed a waitress, she just walked away. Then I told another waitress, she got the manager to come over. The manager just told me to add sauce myself.
Normal dining experience. Sushi quality is normal buffet quality.
I had an amazing dining experience at Yukiguni. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were friendly. Our family loved it so much that we went to the restaurant twice during our visit in Niagara.
Great authentic place Everything was great, service was awesome
This place got good reviews and the closest sushi place to the Niagara attractions. I wish there was more sushi options but I did enjoy what I ordered. The edamame were very good as well as the tempura vegetables. I had to wait outside for about 30 minutes which was rough on a high 80 degree day.
Far from good. Don t be fooled by the overall rating. The chicken teriyaki is burned. The service is bad. Consider elsewhere for Japanese food.
Both the tempura bowl and tempura udon were delicious! Japanese taste!
Great experience
High quality food, excellent service
Weve been coming here for many years every time we head into Niagara, its always been a pleasure and high standard compared to GTA locations. Its small and cozy so make reservations if you got a bigger group. Lots of classics but dont expect lots of variety compared to big city joints. I give them 8.5/10!
Tried to order take out an hour before closing and they said no, lol nice one.
Treasure Japanese food shop, very good
Authentic Japanese restaurant. They serve udon, tempura, tendon, etc. The food is so good that reminds us of Japan. Price is reasonable. Highly recommended.
Basic but solid Japanese restaurant. I had Oyako-don and it was tasty, just like what you would have in a Shokudo two blocks away from your place in Tokyo. I was skeptical before as Niagara is full of tourist trap and restaurants with fake google reviews, but it turns out to be a good choice to dine in Yukiguni
Food great, price reasonable, service friendly and attentive. The ambience leaves a bit to be desired. It seems a bit temporary , e.g. T. quite worn . We would still come back
Great spot for lunch, my favourite is the soft-shell crab.
Umai!! Barry Umai and Barry Kind!
Chewy and thick udon. Fresh and delicious salmon. Lunch Special is very good. Verh friendly staff. Authentic Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended.
reasonable price in niagara area, good food, fridenly owner.
Cozy restaurant. Service is good. Food is great. Chef is Japanese. The waitress is from Japan as well. You couldnt ask for more.
Great service!
I had scallops sashimi and nabeyaki udon. It was not bad! The broth for the udon was perfect and not too salty. It was kinda homey.
The ingredients in the seafood bowl were fresh, and the tempura was crispy and had a Japanese flavor. The staff were also efficient and kind, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The price is also quite reasonable. It was within walking distance of Niagara Falls, and there was a large parking lot, so it was easy to access (I went there two days in a row). Highly recommended for people who miss the taste of Japan.
The best Japanese food I ve ever had! Everything was so lite and flavorful. Exceptional lunch!
Worth the drive from the GTA. Best Japanese food I ve ever had. I recommend the Beef Teriyaki, Karaage and the Green Tea Ice Cream. Staffs are very approachable and friendly.
I recommend the beef teriyaki. The serving is plenty good for two people. If youre in the area, this place is a MUST!
This place was super nice. We were served by the former owner and he made our day so much better. Thank you!
Udon and Katsudon were the most delicious. I also ordered oyakodon and it was so so. The raw fish rice bowl was just okay. I recommend udon and katsudon! I plan to use it next time I go to Niagara. You can also park
Its a very warm and welcoming place, it feels like it appears in a comic, hahahahaha. It s just that we may need more service staff~
Pretty standard home cooking style. I like that the food are made with simple ingredients but tasty, nothing greasy. The udon noodles are pretty interesting though, very different from the ones you will get from elsewhere. Prices are relatively high but that is expected at tourism place.
Very good Japanese food here
This is restaurant is a gem. Fabulous sushi.
Delicious food, big portions, definitely recommend Delicious, large portions, highly recommended :-)
The best Japanese restaurant in Niagara region.
Excellent place if youre looking for a Sushi place. Soups are awesome, rolls are good , vegetable tempura is great Food
For reference, we arrived at 7:45 pm, the place closes at 8 pm, they still served us and let us stay up until 8:30. The Katsu-don had juicy pork with a beutiful crispy outside, the chicken Teriyaki was super flavorful and the Saba Shioyaki had some the most flavourful pieces of fish Ive ever had. Big portions too!
