There was barely any meat in our subs, lots of lettuce and bread. The lady was super slow making them. We waited 20 minutes for two assorted subs. Save your money and time.
Havent been to the subshop however the 4 types of sandwiches Ive had have been outstanding. I know quality food when Ive ate it. Try it ! ...........⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.............

The steak sub that Nick made me was the best steak sub I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I am always hesitant to order steak subs because its either too saucy, dry, or chewy. This was literally perfect in every way and the size of it for the price was great value. Do yourself a favour and give it a try.

Right away as soon as I walked in I was acknowledged by a very polite but busy lady, that was refreshing! I did not have to wait long for my order to be taken and completed, which was a club sub. The price was very reasonable. On a roll 2 for 2 no pun intended. The best part was eating it, omg the ingredients were all fresh and crafted together deliciously, one of the best sub I have had. I will definitely become a regular and highly recommend this place for all.
Ordered an assorted sub, with a few veggies on it, it was absolute fire. Bread was awesome and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. Price was way better than hitting up a big chain sub shop, with may more fresh toppings. People Isidro were very friendly and welcoming. Will come back here again.

Would been nice after ordering 76 dollaraubs if one need be heated were heated like I asked but they werent have no microwave total waste of money expect my food be heated thats what I pay for

This place used to be great!! Paid 32.00 for two steak subs on Saturday, they were both wrong. Really dont mind paying extra if the quality is there...but it certainly wasnt. Subs are now short..closer to eight inch as opposed to 12. Not toasted at all..meat and onions were excellent, but the majority was to one end of the roll. Not enough time taken to make it properly. Certainly will not return again. Too much money for not enough quality.
Order a large meatball sub they literally give u 2 meatballs cut to little pieces on it orderd double meat next time they cut up 3 so they added 1 meatball cut to little pieces for double meat ripped off go to subway next door unless u wanna ge tripped off
The old owner used to make the subs great, now the subs are smaller,more expensive and they don t put enough meat. What a shame to see such a good spot go down the tube
We have been loyal customers for many years. Subs always delicious and we would recommend to all our friends. This I will not be doing anymore. My husband ordered a pizza sub that came with NO SAUCE. My assorted sub was not appetizing. The lettuce was old, sour and bitter. My husband actually had to remind the girl to put the meat on, because she was just about to close up the sub with just lettuce,tomato and cheese. So miss the old owner. Will not be back unfortunately
Steak had no flavour
I miss Rick (the previous and ORIGINAL owner). I have been going to Substantial since I was in elementary school (Notre Dame). This was always the place I went to get a good quality, DELICIOUS assorted sub. I just recently went in to experience the new shop, and the assorted sub was very...off. The cheese is creamy now and almost sour tasting, the meat quality has definitely gone downhill (I know that Ricks meats were also processed, but he used higher quality meats which he sliced on his own at the store). I actually pulled most of the meat off. The bread to meat/filling ratio was EXTREMELY off. The bread was unnecessarily large for the amount of filling. It was also almost $3.00 more. Ricks assorted 12 was only $5 for the longest time! Then it went up to $6 in the most recent years. My 12 assorted last week was almost $9, which would have been completely fine if it tasted GOOD. Im so sad my most cherished sub shop is no longer. Thank you, Rick, for the amazing memories and the amazing subs you made over the years. You will be missed.
Great food and staff
Ham sub was terrible. Bread was SO DRY. I thought I d give this place one more try and order another game sub. And same issue. Shame cause these subs used to be amazing. Last purchase I will be making. Super submarine on McLeod is 100% better.

Was in here a month or so ago, ordered a steak sub that took just over 30 minutes to make which is ridiculous, and it was definitely not worth that long of a wait.
Love the assorted subs. By far the best in the city. All subs are great quality. Great place to eat.
We come to Niagara Falls from Toronto to visit family and one of our must haves are subs from this place. REAL lunch meat and so much better than any chain or any sub we can get in TO. Ive recently switched to their steak salad and its to die for.

Probably good food but Id never know because their phone has been off the hook for over an hour and skipthedishes keeps cancelling my order because the restaurant is unresponsive. Gave them an extra star purely out of my sympathy for small business getting steamrolled the entire pandemic.
Used to be fantastic. Still tastes good but such a small amount on each sub. Grilled chicken sub looks like a sprinkle of chicken, small amount of lettuce, and half slices of tomatoes on a big bun. Just a lot of bread for $12. Such a shame because this used to be the best place for subs. Skimpy with product but big prices. Won t be going back unfortunately.
Staff is amazing and friendly. Their submarines are very fresh tasting and delicious. Ingredients always fresh, crisp and properly seasoned. Prices are affordable.

Good grilled good. They toast sub separately and they properly grill your good and we order 2 large subs. Much better than others. Every time you come stop by get healthy food then go Niagara falls for junk food..has lol Just kidding. These guys are amazing. Friendly. Keep it up !!!

Terrible subs and terrible service. From out of town and asked for Italian sausage subs and they send 2 cold cut subs. Apparently it s our fault we ordered it and they don t have it , but they never told us they don t have it they just assumed what we wanted.they also put onions on a sub that we asked for no onions, and didn t put mayo on one of the subs and only 2 slices of pickles when we asked for extra. Won t be ordering from here again and I ll be telling friends and family not to either.

Terrible service. Ordered a six foot sub for my one year olds birthday party. Waited 2 hours after the delivery time. No one answered the phone and no one called to let us know they couldnt make it. Thanks for nothing. If i could rate zero I would.
