Buchanans Steak & Seafood in Niagara Falls

Vegetable Stir Fry had not many vegetables all over dressed noodles. Beet Salad should be called Spinach Salad maybe one tablespoon of beet on it. Atmosphere very lovely and our server was great.

Its a steakhouse on the second floor of a doubletree hotel. Food quality is below average for its price. Better off eating someplace else. Food : 1/5

Fourth time here, and look forward to comng back. Great surface, delicious food. Great hotel and close to the casino.

I thought the food was good, the establishment was modern and clean, and the service was friendly. Good choice for a family wanting a good meal. I had a ribeye. My sons had the filet mignon and the tuna. My daughter was happy with the grilled cheese and the complimentary ice cream.

We got 2 burgers and fries. The meat on the burger was very tough and did not taste like beef.

The food was delightful. The service was great, then a group of 13 came in an occupied our server. We had a problem with a salad but it satisfied to our liking. Would definitely eat there again.

Breakfast food was okay. Would not recommend getting the sausages as they were dried out more than gas station sausages. The waitress did not place the order correctly and didnt offer to fix just wanted us to say it was fine so she could leave the table. The bill was higher the way she rang it up than if she had placed the order correct. It took forever to get our bill and check out process was a nightmare.

We came to this restaurant for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious and our service was great also. The only reason for not the full stars is because a few steaks got switched and we had to wait for a new one that was very undercooked once received.

We had breakfast here after staying one night at the hotel it s located in. The California Eggs Benedict was delicious. My partner had the breakfast buffet and said everything was good.

Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 we had a small wedding dinner in their private dinning room for our daughter & son-in-law. The manager and assistant manager came to greet us and went over a few things with us before the cake was served. The staff was awesome and the food was delicious! I would recommend this restaurant and when I am back to Niagara Falls, this would be the first place I would go to eat!

Had a prime rib steak, it was super salty, I can normally handle saltiness pretty good, but this one was unbearable

Terrible. Waiter got my steak order completely wrong, instead of medium rare they brought a medium steak. Baked potato was dry and not tasty at all, no bacon bits at all, even though they have bacon on their menu. Overall, bad experience, will not be coming back. Go to other places instead to get your dinner that is worth your hard earned money!

As previously mentioned by other reviews comparable to that of the Keg. Steak was cooked as I wanted, perfectly. Service was fantastic. Waiter was David, fantastic service from him. Ill tell my friends and when I stay at the Double Tree again well 100% eat here again. We had toddler with us and they quickly found her some entertainment so based on that Id suggest children friendly.

I didnt know you could get an experience this good at non tourist jacked prices in Niagara. I was astonished with how fresh and spectacular everything tasted, especially considering its pub prices. 10/10 cant say enough good things. Classy decor, diverse food choices, energetic and happy staff. Not a single thing off with my visit.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff were friendly. The rib steak was delicious. Their wine list was lacking, but we were able to find a decent bottle for dinner.

We waited 2 hours to get our food. The reason was that they were understaffed and backlogged. But they only had 5 tables to serve! Completely ruined our night. The food was very good though. Also, some music would have been nice. Food : 1/5

We went for breakfast just before checking out. We just needed to find something easy but expected it to be at least as expensive as the painfully overpriced IHOP across the road. We were pleasantly surprised, the prices were good, food tasty and the portions were just what we expected/needed. We all regretted not taking the chance here from the start and, if staying nearby in future, Id definitely consider coming back Kid-friendliness: The silver dollar pancake portions were the perfect size for my kids, no wasting, hunger or boxes of food to lug around.

This is our 3rd time her since 2019(pre-covid) the food here is still fantastic. This is part of the reason we stay at the Double Tree..we know this place is low key and we leave very satisfied.

Fantastic food and service! A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I had the braised short ribs and my wife had chicken with lentils. Both were delicious. Our server was very friendly and we chatted for awhile. Live music was a bonus on our visit. Highly recommend.

We are staying at the Doubletree and wanted to go for dinner and thought we would try Buchanans. We were met by the matradee with a sense of humor who seated us by the window. He just started off our evening with a laugh at the subtle jokes. The waitress was fantastic and never rushed us at all. The food was good, we had steaks and pasta dishes followed by dessert. The steaks were cooked nicely and honestly better than the two steak houses down the street. The pasta dishes tasted very good and sat well. The next time I am back in the area I would definitely eat at Buchanans again. I really think the lower star rating for Buchanans is unfair and they deserve more.

Service incredible! Salmon was slightly burnt, however the beef was very good, and the carrots + green beans were delectable, with a very nice buttery taste.

Our family rarely enjoys a hotel restaurant. We usually only go for convenience. But Buchanans is worth a trip in itself. We had a great family dinner. Everyone loved their meal from children to grandparents, meat eaters, fish eaters and vegetarian! The service was a little slow but made up for it with very friendly staff.

Mediterranean salad was not consumable. Server said she would let the cook know!! Big deal! Beet salad could also not be eaten. Service

Over the past several years I visited The Falls, I ve never been disappointed at this restaurant. It is cozy and never too busy. The staff are friendly and very courteous. You MUST order the beef short rib, you will not be disappointed!

Ribeye is the way to go. Good price excellent service. The french onion soup is as authentic as it gets.

Waitress was Incredibly nice and patient. We dined here with our 3 kids. Calamari was the best I ever had, not super rubbery and the Aoli was good too. Didnt have any steak based on previous reviews, but the fries were good and the burger was a good size.

Absolutely the worst breakfast ever.

I took my husband and 2 children here for the first time. We went for my husbands birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice. The food was delicious. Prices were fair. Our server Eiryn was great. We enjoyed it so much we returned for breakfast the next day. Delia was our server. She did well also. Breakfast was delicious and prices were fair. Service was quick also.

Im saying 3 stars but thats all because our waitress was very sweet and the calamari was pretty good the rib steaks were just not very good quality for the price I always order the rib steak and Ive never had one so chewy and uncomfortable to eat but I guess the free chocolate cake for our honey moon was pretty nice

Delicious food that would rival the Keg. Steak was tender and juicy and a phenomenal sauce with it. Pasta dish we also got was working together with such delicious flavour. Lobster dip was not overpowering and very tasty. Highly recommend this place. Not a lot of people in here but not sure why with how good the food was. Service could have been a bit faster but was still very polite and friendly. Pricing was a bit high but still very reasonable for the quality.

Food was good, servers were nice. I had to send my N.Y. stiploin back, I ordered it medium but was cooked well done. Mistakes happen. I would absolutely eat here again.

Worst experience ever they took over an hour to get our food together and finally we get our food to go because we sat there 1.5 hours in total and they missed our daughters intire meal. The vegetables were raw the steak wasnt grilled it was baked the sauce to salty AND our server was on her 3rd day of work without coaching , she made me a Ceasar that was literally a glass of tomato juice NOT KIDDING! . Im a red seal chef and have been in this Industry for 20 years and Im telling you do not go there ! Save your 150 for McDonalds because they would have done a better job SERIOUSLY!

The waitress was super nice and the Thai pasta was good but the food took more than 1 hour to be delivered. The salmon was bland and so was the rice and vegetables.

I recently had a 5-day stay at the Hilton DoubleTree and I booked this hotel not only for its location and view of the falls because it had a nice restaurant on site so if I didnt feel like walking around to find my food I could just get something inside the hotel. On the very first morning I realized I was wrong thinking that the food here is not very good it is lacking a lot of flavor I ordered the California eggs benedict and the spinach was slimy and the eggs were cold. The home fries had no flavor at all and I couldnt even get the attention of the waitress to get some water or I refill at the coffee and speaking of the coffee the coffee is absolutely terrible. Maybe its terrible on purpose so youre forced to buy a Starbucks from the lobby but it was undrinkable. This was the first and last time I ate at this restaurant for the rest of my trip I either ordered in with doordash or went out and found something to eat huge mistake trying to eat at the built-in restaurant in this hotel. Dont even get me started on the hotel thats a whole lot separate story.

There was some sort of convention at the hotel when we ate here. The place was pack and LOUD. Staying at the Hilton, I simply assumed that the restaurant would have a classier vibe. I was wrong. It was honestly not great. The food could have been better too and definitely wasnt worth the price. Update- The response from the restaurant to my review is off-putting. Why are you referencing my husbands review? Should I not be let to independently review a meal apart from him? And using your response as an advertising platform for your pricing structure and breakfast menu feels less like a reply to me, and more like an opportunity for you. Im changing my 2 stars to one star. The customer service in this entire Hilton Hotel is sub-par and as a business owner myself, I would advise you to enjoy a slice of humble pie once in a while. Youre not all that.

Had dinner and breakfast here whilst staying in the hotel. NY strip was excellently cooked and certainly one of the better restaurant steaks I have eaten, and the dinner service was superb. Breakfast was equally as good with efficient service and a tasty and large full cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend, especially if staying in the double tree (and still if you arent!).

We did have to wait for a long time for both our drinks and food, however when everything arrived, it was absolutely amazing!! Clean, spacious and Im all for clean, esp when it comes to eating out! The steak was soft, succulent, well presented!! Also our appetizers were amazing including the flat bread and it was to die for!! We will definitely be returning!! Parking: Parking was a little bit tough but it was ok!! Kid-friendliness: Our kids were happy although they had to wait a long time for their meal!

Sirloin was served overcooked. It was so dry that it felt like microwaved. Shrimp taguatelle pasta was very ordinary, and flavorless. Its definitely not worth $24.

Host was great.. Ahmet. ! My whole party loved him! ! We were going to have cake celebration back at our room and he gave us everything we needed. Candles, cutlery, napkins and he even gave us his own lighter! . Very sweet! Food was good. Service was a tad bit slow. I wish bread was warm and butter room temperature. This place is possible the best restaurant I ve ever eaten at. Everything tasted great! The servers were amazing. The customer service here is just out of this world. This is the place that I will be having dinner whenever I come to the city. I give this restaurant a 10/10 hands down.

The restaurant looks nice, the servers did a great job, very attentive, veri nice and professional. However, the food was terrible. I ordered a steak (they only have two options for steak on the menu but the restaurant presents itself as a steak house) Ordered it medium rare. Came cooked to death, super dry. I returned it. By that time, my kids had their meals. (My sons salmon was overcooked as well but he decided to eat it anyway. The server came back with ne steaks for my wife and I. Again, overcooked. I tryed to eat it and it was super salty. Like OliveGarden level salty It was supposed to have a red wine reduction with it... That is not how a redwine reduction is supposed to look or taste. I sent it back. They didnt charge me for the steak and gave us free desert. Good cake. But if you want steaks, dont go there. Overprice and terrible food.

Food and service were excellent. Manu the manager was accommodating and gracious. Prices were reasonable.

I bought yesterday, a snack, near the hotel, 2 sandwiches, 2 slices of cake and a juice, before the service $25.40. I was charged $4.31 for free, I left 15 % of service ($3.30) all $33.00. Amazing, why the $4.31, I wasnt even at the restaurant. No more hand washing before being served.

The place is quaint. The staff are friendly. However, it was difficult to locate as you have to go into the hotel and go to the second floor. There were no signs anywhere indicating where the restaurant is. The restaurant had very little patrons, maybe 3 other tables and yet it took a long time for the food to be served; approximately 40 minutes between the appetizers and main course. The food was a bit on the salty side. We ordered the steak rare and had to send it back as it was not rare. We even warned the waiter that it had to be rare or it would be sent back. We waited about 10 minutes for the new steak to come back and it was still served as medium rare. The restaurant manager however did comp my cousin her meal as she still couldnt eat her steak. I thought that was very nice and thoughtful of them.

Had a lovely dinner last evening .The steak was perfect as was our waitress. To make the meal even more memorable some unknown person picked up our tab. To this very thoughtful person we give you a heartfelt thankyou. We havent been to Niagara in almost 50 years so this was a wonderful welcome. Thanks again.

Visited here 3 times with my family a couple of weeks ago while we stayed at the hotel. The food was delicious every time but the highlight of every visit was the staff. They made us feel very welcome and served us above and beyond their duties. One lady even remembered my childrens names. Its the little things that make this place special and we will be dining here everytime we are at Niagara falls

Went for an early dinner on the Saturday on Easter weekend (had the whole restaurant to ourselves). Was looking for a good steakhouse for myself with a good vegetarian option for my wife (couldn t justify $58 for a vegetarian dish with the tourist tax at Ruth Chris). She had the Mediterranean ravioli which was delicious and I had the 22oz bone in rib steak cooked to perfection with vegetables potato and sauce for $39 amazing! Went during lunch time so got lunch pricing but still seemed like a good size and they have great happy hour specials! Our whole bill with multiple glasses of wine was what would ve paid for a steak and baked potato at Ruth Chris. Service was amazing and perfectly timed and finished off with an amazing dessert

I visited with family for dinner. A front staff was friendly. But the server wan t friendly at all. We ordered lobster and new york strip. It took a long time until served maybe 30 min even not many customer at that time. Lobster was perfect, but new York steak was over cooked and burned even I asked medium rare... I could not finished all. I guess I won t visit again...

Got the Mediterranean Ravioli and added some shrimp to it, it was delicious. Some of the best pasta Ive had. The creme brulee is super good. I often think about the ravioli...

Just came out of there, it took the server 18 mins to ask is you wanted something to drink and to order food, it was not busy at all, maybe ten people including us. It took and other five to receive the drink. During the order, she told my gf to wait because she was writing a Ceasar salad with chicken that the other person with us just ordered. After the order, I had to pass my menu over the table to pass it to her. While almost done but no quite there yet, we received the bill, seriously you could not wait an other five mins, we had to wait for her to pay after we were done anyway. We still have her some tip while we should have just not giving anything. Anyways, the food was OK but the staff need some training or polishing the service. Please work on that and you business will increase and good reviews will come.

Went to this steakhouse as it was close to our hotel. The dining room is nothing special and feels like a casual restaurant. The caesar salad was generic and not memorable. The filet mignon was served overcooked and the mashed potatoes seemed to have been left out. The rib steak was cooked correctly which is a credit to such a thinly cut steak. The complimentary bread was very doughy and had little flavour given its focaccia like filling. There are better steakhouses in Niagara Falls.

Went to Buchanans this past weekend for dinner since I had a room at the doubletree. Had amazing service and the steak was amazing. I was totally surprised of the quality. Highly recommend Buchanans! Id definitely go back!!!

Dinner wasnt perfect but they corrected their issues. My Merlin was cooked PERFECTLY. The servers despite being understaffed were courteous and polite. I appreciate their effeort and attention to detail.

Wow...for a Hilton Restaurant I expect quality. The food is over priced, takes a half hour to be served and it is so so bland. I felt that I was eating hospital food. The chicken was seasoned with butter and tasted like nothing. The vegetables and rice were so bland. Go out to eat there are a ton of options in Niagara. There is even a Indian restaurant across the street. I am very disappointed in the food. Breakfast: I would say that the breakfast was not bad at all. I liked how they have someone make fresh custom omelettes for you. They were delicious! The pancakes on the other hand were digusting. Overall, I recommend the breakfast only although it is over priced about 17.00 plus tax.

Service was good, there was a miscommunication because we ordered the kids meals first after our horrible experience at mortons grille the night before, we didnt want the kids waiting. When we brought the wait time to managements attention, they were very apologetic and hustled to make things right. Food was very unique, duck came out perfect. The salmon was overcooked so order medium if u want it med well... ordered the steak rare, came out med well, but they recooked on the fly rare.

Mary served us today and was amazing very friendly place and the food was the best. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Food was great but we came in because we saw a sign that said lobster and steak $14.99 but that wasnt the case we had to order a main course and then you could get the lobster tail by itself for $14.99

We stayed at the Doubletree and decided to eat dinner at Buchanans, the in-house restaurant. It ended up being a great idea. We made a reservation for a Wednesday evening, but didnt end up being necessary. We were seated by the window. View was nothing exciting but atmosphere was pleasant. We presented the server with our ordering dilemmas and she gave us great recommendations. Our table ordered lobster dip, filet mignon, salmon, and asiago penne with steak. All were excellent and arrived quickly. Server was on the ball with drink refills and pleasant small talk. Very reasonable price for a good dinner for 3.

We had a great dinner. Both of us ordered steaks and got it medium as we wanted. Food was very delicious - perfect. Prices are reasonable. Also the server was very friendly.

We ordered room service and although the taste was not bad, we found spoiled salad and missing croutons. I would try again but probably no salad next time.

We went to Buchanas tonight for dinner. The Calamari was perfect!! Service was great! I was very disappointed with the baked potatoes. They were like warm and very old. The skin was wrinkled and brown into the white of the potato. The server came early and asked how things were. She took the baked away and replace mine with garlic mashed and my husband with fries. The fries were good. The mashed not so good, I didnt eat them. They tasted like they came from flakes and very salty. I noted to the server, I didnt like them, nor did I eat them. We got our bill, no discount, I was expected to pay for bad potatoes...we asked the server. She gave us a 5 buck discount. I was disappointed in the poor quality of food and then have to ask not to pay for.

The DoubleTree hotel has a wilderness lodge type of look. Amazing stonework and woodwork. The restaurant look and feel followed the same style. The interior of the really reminded me of restaurants in Bavaria, Germany. Our waitress Anastasia was so kind and helpful. We all loved our meals. I had the 18oz ribeye with extra peppercorn sauce and my wife ordered the filet. The steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered them. The peppercorn sauce was incredible and really added to the flavor. We recommend choosing this restaurant. This is U Do It approved!

You get more of a selection and better food from the free breakfast buffet at the strip club then here. 17.99 really? They say there is a omelette station. Must of been across the street because it wasnt there.

First time going to this restaurant. It is beautiful to look at, but the food is not up to par. Had to send mixed drink back because it was not good, the french onion soup is only croutons with no liquid, .. More like a bad tasting stew. The steak is tough and burnt, we didnt receive our wine reduction or peppercorn sauce, and the waitress did not come back during our meal to see if things were ok. Will not be going back here with so many other options in Niagara Falls.

Very disappointed , absolutely no atmosphere. Older couple with a reservation, lots of empty seats and we get sat in a both next to a table of with toddlers and babies....not at a nice window seat. Wine glasses, candles on the table, music turned up alittle and the lights down slightly would go along way to making the atmosphere relative to the pricing. Food was average , cold veggies.....

We went to dinner after a visit to the falls. Very ordinary... completely empty room, tasteless and tasteless food. My girlfriend took the ravioli, everything was bathed in it. The overcooked burger borders on burnt. Very low end for a Hilton. We are disappointed

Buchanans is a hotel restaurant located in the DoubleTree. I ate there several times while in Niagara for a business trip. Hotel restaurants can be a little spotty, but Buchanans was actually quite good. I had a Shrimp and Scallops dish that was very tasty, and a couple of their pastas, which were also very nice. It was slow most evenings, so the service was very personal with that Canadian friendliness. The servers seemed to like to chat. Well worth a try. Visited June 2013

Ate here with my husband & daughter on Sept 15th for lunch. The staff was amazing! Soo friendly, helpful & understanding. The food was absolutely to die for. It was sooo delicious. We tried a little bit of everything almost.. Salmon Salad, Tempura Shrimp, Chicken & Pasta, Battered Mushroom Caps, Chicken Fingers & Fries and the Angus Burger!! Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was incredible. She is a definite asset to the restaurant. Thank you for everything!!!
