Bistro Six One in Niagara-on-the-Lake

We heard good reviews about the food from family who previously visited and thought it would be a good stop for lunch. Went there during the week so was not busy at all. We ordered pizza & garden salad. Pizza was good. Salad a little wilted. Service was horrible. 2 waitresses who were miserable. Our waitress, no greeting just are you ready to order. Didnt ask how the food was. Just no personalty! She should not work in customer service. We gave her a 15% tip, I usually tip 20 to 25, and I still felt that was too much. We visit Niagara quite frequently as we are only about 1 hour away. Will never eat here or recommend it to anyone. If I see anyone contemplating to go in I would tell them Dont Do It.

It was amazing! The Shrimps spaghetti was amazing! Pizza was excellent! Onion soup, was so so.. not recommended! Putine was nice! BBQ ribs was good!

A very underwhelming experience. The service staff are friendly. We went after the lunch rush, the restaurant was 30-50% full, but the small amount of food took so long to come out. The pizza was probably the worst I ve had, I would be surprised if it was freshly prepared, it tasted like a $5 frozen pizza. The fries are not good at all. The veggie burger option was not cooked all the way through.

Bistro Six One provided 16 take out lunches for our department - the food was hot, fresh, tasty, on time for pick up and very reasonably priced. All of the items were correctly labeled and the servings were ample. Highly recommend Jason and the rest of the team!!

Salad completely old and rotten. Not edible!! Service didnt even ask why we didnt eat it!! So rude!! But the bill was immediately on the table

Great food and fantastic service

We were in NOTL for the day doing wine tasting. Surprisingly, not too many good food options in the area but stumbled across this place and there was no line up so we gave it a shot. I got the Philly Cheese Pizza and my partner got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The meat on the pizza was so dry and it was so salty. The buffalo wrap was flavourless however the fries were very good! Overall, the food left us both with an upset stomach. Will never return here

The food was tasty, the service friendly, and the atmosphere was quiet on a Tuesday night. Everything was delicious with a little kick. We started with the French onion soup, which was one of the tastiest versions I ve ever had! It was warm and savory with a surprising brightness. We then had the Carne Asada Grilled Cheese and the Shrimp and Sausage pasta. The spice on the red sauce was no joke! Both meals had excellent flavor, but I would caution that you take your Tums afterwards :) If you have a sensitive tummy, maybe ask them to skip the jalapeños on the grilled cheese. If not go wild. The side fries were my favorite so far on this trip. This place looks small from the outside, but it s deceptively big. We were there on a quiet night, but I m sure it s a lovely atmosphere when it s full! We especially loved the musical choices! We plan to come back and try the pizza, we have heard good things!

Ordered a beyond meat burger. It was hardly cooked, with only faint grill marks. And pink juice soaked the bun. Not edible at all. Showed out waiter, and he just said sorry, no offer to cook it more, and they still charged us. Brutal.

we came for a late lunch and it took quite a while for our server to get us started with waters or even a greeting. We ordered two caesar salads and two pizzas and the caesar salads were tasteless and dry. we would have liked to ask for some more dressing but unfortunately our server rarely checked up on us after receiving our meals. We paid 16$ for pretty much just lettuce and a sprinkle of cheese! we had asked for no bacon but were expecting a little bit more

Our server Alex was awesome, informative and very helpful. Not just our table, but other tables adjoining. Your lucky to have him as good employees are hard to find. You need more of him. Kudos.

Average food, but quick service especially for a busy Saturday afternoon. But neither my pasta nor my wife s soup were hot, and her salad was mediocre at best.

This is extremely mediocre. The French onion soup for some reason tastes greasy and gross, cheese doesn t taste fresh, almost taste fake. Side salad it s just an unwashed Costco spring mix, Costco garlic bread as well. Pizza it s okay but it s only because it s wood fired. Place looks old.

The food is unreasonably expensive. The burger one of my friends ordered is very salty, and the food overall is quite mediocre. The wording on the menu is also quite confusing, make sure you double or triple check what you ordered. Not a good experience at all, hence the 1 star Parking: Parking spot is very limited, we parked in a nearby park s parking lot and walking 300 metres Wheelchair accessibility: No ramps anywhere and stairs everywhere. The washroom is also down a narrow flight of stairs.

This was a great find in Niagara on the Lake. Friendly service, and three really good meals for our party, which included a burger, a carne asada grilled cheese, and a pork tenderloin dinner. They did all of those meals very well, for reasonable prices.

I am now a regular. Lovely place to eat!

I came here with my partner on a date. Its one of the more affordable places to dine on the Niagara on the Lake. Their food is comfort food. Its alright. Their drinks were pretty good though. Staff were amazing though and helpful.

All foods were so nice and the server was very kind, especially for our baby and little dog. I appreciate that! There were so many people in outside tables but he came to us very often to help us to enjoy meals. That s very thoughtful and considerate. I am sorry not to remember his name (who worked afternoon on 9/12) but we could enjoy a lot because of him. Thanks, tall and handsome man

cute spot in the middle of the main street. we stopped for a quick lunch (picked because they had a vegan burger option which we could add to salads for a steep up charge-$8) and were able to enjoy the outside patio as we watched people walk by.

First of all food was Disgusting, Thier pizza is cooked in a gas oven pizza not wood oven pizza That is a lie. At the end they charge you different price then what it says on the Menu , pay attention before you pay . Food

The waiter charged us twice the tip. He registered one as gratuity and the other one as tip.

Food and service was great. Pricing was also great, they don t inflate their prices even though they are right on the strip. That is really appreciated! Only reason I gave atmosphere a 4 start because the decor and washrooms could use a refresh. Overall great experience.

We ordered chicken pizza and margarita. I think it was on a pittafactory made bread rather than pizza dough, it didnt make sense to pay 17 bucks for that pizza. I wont go there again.

The half rack of pork ribs were served with blood, and I requested to rework, not much better after rework very disappointed to end a Canada Day trip with such bad experience

Bistro Six One at Niagara on the lake. Ontario was a great little well established place and a welcome fine for our first experience there our waiter a young fellow that never stopped smiling was very attentive and the food was wonderful. Next time we re up. We definitely will be back in the rest of the town is very interesting to drive around in and see the beautiful sites

Stopped in for a quick bit and a drink. Our server Aitken was awesome. Very attentive, friendly and fast. Ordered a Margherita pizza and Caesar Salad. Had questions about a beer on tap and Aitken was quick to offer a taster before I actually ordered. Beer was nice and crisp. Could have been colder but still good. Pizza was OK. Salad should have been really good but missed the mark. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, lots of bacon bits and cheese and well dressed but the dressing was the miss. Not sure if they forgot the garlic and salt but there was zero garlic flavour and it needed more seasoning.

Great spot for dinner in Niagra on the Lake. We did not have to wait to find a seat on Saturday at about 630 PM. The food came out very quick and our service was great and the food was exceptional.

First experience of racism in Canada!!! We were told that to wait at the entrance door to be sitted. We were taking photo 1 meter to the right side of restaurant and taking photos and waiting for the waitress. Suddenly we saw that two white person came and they sitted before us!!!! I asked the waitress and she told us that I didnt see you!!! I told her that we were taking photos and waiting for you. She asked her manager and he told us the same!! He told us to wait again to be sitted in the other spot.!!! We regret to have lunch there and because this ridiculous behavior.

We were at Niagara on the lake last weekend and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming our server was great! we were 10 people and all the food was served together. I ordered shrimp linguini and highly recommend it. Delicious white wine sauce made my mouth water. Overall a great experience so definitely check it out

I ordered Margherita pizza and it was not a good experience. Mozzarella cheese was so solid and chewy. I had pizzas at fine Italian restaurants and know what good pizza looks like. But no complaints for service and atmosphere.

The website, the menu, the decor made this restaurant look like a quality restaurant. I ordered the margarita pizza. It didnt look like it came out of a wood fire oven. No char, no sizzle. Looked like a frozen pizza you buy at a grocery store that was heated in a regular oven. The plate was warmer than the pizza.

The staff are super sweet and kind. It gets a little busy, but you hardly notice with the layout. Kid-friendliness: Its not on the menu, but if your child is a little picky, you can ask for a plain cheese pizza. It is exactly like the margarita but without the basil and is just as good.

I have never seen such treatment in any restaurant in my life before. One afternoon, two friends, we were looking for a place to sit to have a snack, drink and chat, and since the weather was nice, we wanted to sit at the first small and quiet place we saw that had an outside table, and we saw this place and chose it. We ordered pizza and shared it with my friend, and I asked for a coffee. While I had only taken 3 sips of my coffee, a receipt was left on our table without us asking and without being told anything!!! Of course, I did not react to this rude behavior and no polite greetings such as thank you or good day were exchanged between me and the waiter! I attribute their behavior like this to 2 should not happen reasons. He wanted us to get up because we only ordered one pizza and the time they left the receipt was right during lunch break and the place got busy all of a sudden!!! Maybe it had only been an hour at that time! Whatever the reason, such a thing cannot happen! This is a very rude behavior and it forced me to behave rudely too.

We ordered vegetarian grilled pizzaand i must say the raste was real italian. Enjoying pizza in patio that too in Niagara on the lake was great! The server was very polite and overall experience was good.

This place was incredible good! We went looking to grab something quick to eat and ended up having a full meal and a delicious one! We had the chicken pesto and one of the steaks and it was absolutely amazing! Service on top of that was awesome!!! Will be coming back soon! Cant wait

Really recommend this place. The service was really nice to us, the stablishment was cozy and the food was really good. You must try the Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Cheesecake if you have space for dessert.

It was our anniversary and we went at Bistro six-one and boy, the food was scrumptious in any aspect we could measure. Right from vibe, taste and service - everything was point blank accurate. Kudos to the team here and special shout out to Ryan for making it amazing for us. Definitely a must visit if you are around on-the-lakes.

Service was great. Food not so much. Burgers are similar to frozen Compliments Patty s from Sobeys. Ribs tasted and looked like they came frozen vac sealed from a box. Fish and chips similar to Highliner breaded frozen filets. Not at all worth the price we paid. Extremely disappointed.

Our server named Rayan gaved us a good service. Had an amazing experience.Definitely recommend their pizza .bread was so soft and delicious. But the server named Lauran who was supposed to assign the table was way too rude. Asked us to wait for 10 mins for the requested table as we waited for our table for 10 mins and came in to ask how much time more needed. It turns out our table was given to someone else without checking if we were still waiting or not.( we were waiting outside as asked by Lauren). When asked for table. Good patio with good food. Found it not easy to get a place with good food at Niagara Falls area. Birtro Six One was the one. The food was good compared to others I have tried. They have a good patio as well. Pork Tenderloin is ok. Lamb shank is better though.

Really enjoyed this place! Pizza was really good, both regular and gluten free. Big seating footprint means that it is just as good for date night as for family eat out. Ryan, our server, and great, and he was right that the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake is the best GF dessert in NOTL! We will be back.

The loveliest place we couldve possibly gone! Our waiter Aitken was personable, polite and quick to get to our table (and had cool Ghibli tattoos!), the atmosphere was lovely and surprisingly quiet for noon. The food was incredible, both pizzas and soups of the day were delectable. The worse restaurant ever, me and my family came in, the lack of greeting and welcoming atmosphere case all of us left the restaurant. I hope the manager address this issuer for survive the restaurant.

We really enjoyed the food, service, and the cozy environment of the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp linguini, which was one of the yummiest pastas Ive ever tried. The creamy texture with the balanced taste of garlic and vegetables was delightful. Ill crave this pasta for sure. My husband also ordered the New York steak, which was well-prepared, and he enjoyed it a lot. The portions were so generous that we had leftovers. Im excited to have my leftover pasta for today!

We had the shrimp linguini, it was delicious, we didn t finish and took it home. It was still delicious after reheating it (Albeit, Im not a total hack in the kitchen) the flavour was a well blend and not overly salty or cheesy. Writing a review so I remember to come back again. The burger I had was great too, again not too salty, added the cheese but no bacon.

Our visit to Bistro Six One was average. While the fish and chips were sizable and okay, the pizzas were underwhelming, lacking flavor. The salad arrived without dressing, which was disappointing. Ate there on Easter Sunday. Food is good, especially the pizza which is baked in wood oven. Server forgot that we ordered salad with no bacon. In general my family likes this restaurant. Would be nice if they have cappuccino.

Another regular place. Pros - open when others are closed. Cons - the menu is very limited, expensive than usual and the service was unprofessional (took my kids plate before she finished which left her sad and with lots of crying)

Ordered the fish and chips and the prawn linguine. I ve definitely had better fish and chips an the tartar sauce was no good, but the prawn linguine was delicious with perfectly balanced flavours.

BEST fish and chips I ve ever had in my life, look at the flakiness of the fish and it s not super oily like others. It s such a cute spot to eat outdoors , must try!!!

Tried this restaurant for the first time and was blown away. Do not pass on the shrimp linguini, it was divine. We had great service by a fantastic server and were given a wonderful seat by the window.

I was visiting across the street at 124Q and found this quaint place for dinner on Sunday. I knew all I wanted was a steak and that s what I got. Steak and fries are my perfect meal. When I ased for a medium rare at Bistro Six One, I got a medium rare. Happy to say it was a good meal. Alex was my server and he was attentive even though he had a lot of people to take care of. The atmosphere was perfect for me, a solo traveller/diner. Old style atmosphere with family values.

Every time weve tried to go here, its been super busy and Im not good with lines. The other night we walked in. What a pleasant surprise. The food and service was excellent. I guess thats why its busy.

Delicious....very homemade food

Stopped in for lunch. Got great service, and great food. We got an app and pizza which we shared and 2 desserts. Sizes are generous, we took home half the pizza and 1 dessert.

Husbands fish fry was great. My gluten free pizza, meh. While the photos on the website look amazing the actual gf crust was very thin and hard. Your basic prepackaged gf crust. Service was excellent, waiter was very attentive without being pushy. Atmosphere was average. Dietary restrictions: Only items gluten free were the pizza and peanut butter fudge cheesecake. Oh and the usual gf go to, salad.

Best Pizza in town

After a rainy day in Niagara Falls, we took a ride to NOTL and enjoyed strolling the old-fashioned streets. We happened upon this little place and decided to eat there. We werent very hungry, but they were happy for us to eat starter and dessert. Their beef barley soup was just how we like it - fairly thick with big chunks of beef and plenty of substance. Delicious cream cake and a decadent caramel apple crumble rounded off our meal. The server was open and friendly and the food excellent value for money. Definitely recommend this establishment.

Terrible experience, my wife and I got the braised lamb ragu and the braised beef sandwich. The lamb ragu we found plastic/glass in the food. It was the size of a fingernail. We told the waitress and she said it was from the container that held the sauce. It was shocking how fast her response was, almost like it wasnt the first time. The pasta was bland and had no taste. The sandwich we didnt even eat since we found plastic/glass in the food. Overall waste of time do not recommend.

We went on a casual drive to NOTL and were damn hungry. This place was busy but had good number of seatings, so found a place quickly. Great food. Loved the short varieties and their ability to customise veggie options for my wife and son. Great drinks and right quantity. Service by Hanna was great and price was nominal. Would visit again!

Went for dinner, great service, great atmosphere but the food wasnt great. Random sauces on things where they didnt belong or make sense like the spicy shrimp, potato salad with a massive amount of dijon mustard, and ravioli with gravy. Busy spot because it is reasonably priced but we wont be back.

Food was delicious, ordered shrimp linguine, lots of shrimp with the pasta, excellent sauce! The wife ordered braised beef sandwich and subbed for a ceaser salad which is definitely worth the $3 sub cost as it comes packed with bacon. Establishment itself could use a good deep clean and washrooms definitely need attention. Walls had old food on them and picture frames were covered in dust (right beside our food). Needed to use the bathroom and went to the downstairs ones, wife walked right out and decided to hold it in, mens wasn t in much better shape. Hopefully the kitchen gets the attention it needs.

We ordered some drinks, poutine, oven baked pizza and my friend got the soup of the day (won ton soup). She also ordered a sangria and probably due to personal preference but I had a sip and it tasted just like grape juice, the server did ask to top it with more wine but my friend just didnt like the taste at all and left the full glass. The service was exceptional as they did try to make it better. Oven baked Pizza was decent, but I dont recommend the poutine. servers were attentive and friendly! We really tried to enjoy our food...but there were just a lot of flies. I felt like the whole time we were just shooing flies away...

First time dining here . I ordered the shrimp linguine . Its so delicious! The sauce is thick , creamy and freshness from the vegetables. My husband enjoyed his pepperoni pizza . Its was ok though .

I expected the pizza to be freshly made not fresh out of the freezer. The prawn linguine was so heavy with cream and cheese (cheese on a seafood pasta??). People always criticize British food, maybe we could teach you a thing or two.

Absolutely the best meal Ive had in ages!!! 100% recommend their samon dinner and apple caramel crisp desert!! You wont be disappointed. Thank You for such amazing food and service. We came all the way from Cambridge and we will be back every year!

Stopped in after seeing a show. Was placed near door and it was cold every time door opened. There were only 6 other people in there so not busy. Menu was good mainly pizza place. Service? Took time to order.

Gluten free pizza was fine, would NEVER have guessed it was from wood fired oven. Tasted like a frozen pizza. Was extremely over priced for what you got. Service was so so, didn t check on us after serving our meal, didn t ask us how our meal was at the end either. It was an overall ok experience. Probably wouldn t go again. The food was stellar! Their menu is short and sweet with limited vegetarian options, but the food and service were spectacular. Well definitely visit again. Vegetarian options: The menu is short and the vegetarian options are limited to salads, a beyond burger, and a few pasta options. But they were very accommodating and removed the meat from a pasta dish for us. Kid-friendliness: It felt fairly laid back and kid friendly. Theres nothing on the menu specifically for kids, but theyll enjoy the wood-fired pizzas.

Our initial plan fell and we run into this small restaurant in a cold rainy evening by accident. It turned out to have the best dish I had this year. I ordered the salmon with warm potato salad and my hubby had lamb shank. The salmon and its side bussel sprout were fried to the perfect level. The warm potato salad ... was the best I ever had. The waitress kindly entertained our questions regarding the ingredients of the potato salad. The lamb shank was fine to me, maybe less flavourful than the salmon but it worked towards my hubbys liking. The price is decent and portion is generous. I would definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I stopped in for a bite to eat at This cute little restaurant. We were greeted and seated very quickly. The service was amazing. Our server was Sheila. She was absolutely amazing. Fast, knowledgeable, attentive, and extremely nice. She made sure everything was to our liking. My wife had the braised beef sandwich with fries, and I had the Buffalo chicken pizza. My wife is a small eater and very rarely finishes her plate. She demolished her dinner. She said everything was so good. My pizza was perfect. I haven t had a pizza that great in a long time. It was so good in fact that we ordered two to go. Absolutely beautiful flavours. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thanks Sheila and the Bistro six one staff for a fantastic night.
