My wife and I went to have a spa day and brunch to celebrate our anniversary, we had the three eggs and the broken eggs they were amazing , but their pancakes were just perfect! Laura our server was amazing and Mike at the main entrance (lobby) who guided us through the resort was so friendly and helpful. This is now our favourite spot to go, we’re going back for my birthday.
I treated three of my female friends to a special dinner at LI V, 253 Taylor Road, Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON…The Host (Laura) was very welcoming and courteous. Our Servers (Laura & Zoe) were ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! They knew the menu, made excellent recommendations, and made our dinner the most memorable ever. Laura and Zoe are awesome!
Loved this restaurant! Stayed at White Oaks and came for dinner with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were given free champagne as a treat for our anniversary. The food was impeccable. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was efficient and very attentive to us. I would definitely come back if we stay at white oaks again!
We very much enjoyed our delicious Table for 2 dinner at the White Oaks. I have to start out by saying that it has been a very long time that we experienced this outstanding level of service and it was greatly appreciated. We were not staying at the hotel but drove in for dinner from NOTL. When we walked into the hotel an employee saw that we were trying to figure out where to find the restaurant and came over and walked us to the restaurant, chatting along the way. He introduced us to the hostess and asked that we be seated by the window so we could overlook the beautiful gardens. Our server Heni was friendly, inquisitive, attentive and a complete delight. Along with Matthew they both made the evening special. A manager also came to ask how dinner was going and a stool was brought out for all the ladies to put their purses on. For the Table for 2 we each had a choice of appetizer, main and dessert. As well there was an amuse bouche and a sorbet palate cleanser included. We had the mussels in a tomato cream sauce and tomato fennel salad for starters. The cavatelli with pesto, chicken and asparagus and flat iron steak with chimichurri and roasted veg. for entrees and the white chocolate pistachio tart and churro cheesecake for dessert. Everything was fresh and tasty and presented beautifully. The portions were generous and we were stuffed by the end. Just an FYI we forgot to take pics until after we started eating so the plates are missing food. The next time we are in the area we will definitely be going back to LIV for dinner.
My husband and I went to Liv last night to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The food was incredible - we ordered from their Table for 2 menu which included an amuse bouche, appetizer, palette cleanser, entree and dessert. They also provided complimentary bread with assorted spreads, butters and dips. We had the duck confit flatbread app which was HUGE and delicious. We also ordered the steak entree which was amazing but we were both too full from the app and bread to have more than a few bites. Our waitress saw us struggling to choose which 2 of the 3 desserts we wanted and ended up surprising us by bringing us all 3. All staff were super friendly and helpful from the hostess to our server Rachel and her assistant Eddie. My dietary restrictions were easily accommodated. A manager also stopped by to ask how our meal was going. We were also served 2 glasses of complementary champagne in celebration of our anniversary which was a lovely surprise. The only reason I gave service 4 stars is because once they got a bit busier, the service was a bit slow. It took awhile for us to get our dessert and to pay the bill. All around great experience!
The restaurant was very accommodating towards my dietary restrictions (dairy free, no onion, no garlic) the chef prepared a special meal and it was appreciated. I had the scallops and my sister had the beef they were both delicious. The food tasted amazing and I would highly recommend it. Ate there for dinner and then again for breakfast.
Exceptional would be an understatement. We had such a lovely dinner at LIV last week! The food was excellent; ribeye was a juicy, perfect medium-rare and the parmesan fingerlings were to-die-for. The wine list was beautifully curated, but we didnt even need it as Shelly, the Sommelier was so engaging and fun! Our service team, led by Lola, was warm and invested in our experience. The entire evening was comfortable and pleasant, with the right amount of attention from the service team. 5 stars is not enough.
We attended for an event and it was remarkable. Food was amazing. Drinks were amazing. Ambience was fantastic. The servers were a little slow in between courses bringing drinks / coffee. However all in all it was five out of five.

I only came for the breakfast, and it was phenomenal.
Brought my friend for a nice dinner on Sunday night Labour Day weekend for her birthday. The food was outstanding. The service was so so terrible. First off it was not a busy night. It took 20 mins before our server came to our table. Once we ordered and food was served, before we took a bite someone ( manager?) came to ask how everything was. After that we never saw our server, I had to pour my gf and myself wine. Our water glass was empty and we were waiting and waiting till finally I had to walk across the room and ask someone for water. The server then appears with the water jug. To be honest even the though the food was amazing the experience was disappointing. Will not go back
WE had our anniversary dinner here and were very disappointed. I used to have several business meals here before retiring and it was great. Things have gone down hill dramatically though. The flavours were awful on the duck confit (also burnt) and on the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce. Value wise it was way off as well. Way over priced for the quality and quantity of food. There are much better choices out there such as Casa Mia. Not sure what this chef is thinking flavour wise but it certainly didn t mesh with our palate.
We came for breakfast after checkout. The food was delicious, that s not surprising, but more than that, the service was excellent. Sera was our server, she was so accommodating to my kids requests and went above and beyond. Thank you for a great start to our day.

We had not been here since before Covid and I am happy to report that Liv continues to set the bar high. Their Thursday night Table for Two is an amazing culinary adventure, complete with stellar gourmet food and a variety of unique options. Service at this place is always impeccable and we left feeling that we had been spoiled beyond belief. If you want dining at its best, Liv is the place for you!

I have been coming to my favourite getaway for years, WO. I have never been disappointed. I think each year it gets better. We came on a birthday celebration and had the pleasure of dining in LIV restaurant with our server, RACHEL! She was absolutely attentive..and her dedication to her job is evident while she tended to us. There wasn t anything else she could have done to make our night more memorable. Thank you so much Rachel and the rest of the team. Our dinners were so delicious.. such a culinary experience! Wheelchair accessibility: It s all good until you have to use the spa!! In all the years I ve been coming to the White Oaks Resort.. they need elevator access to the spa!

Food was okay, not a lot of variety in breakfast buffet. Only non-pork option were eggs for protein. Service was really good - special thank you to Serk for making us feel welcomed and for being attentive to my family, especially the kids.
We were very pleased with the service from all the staff. However we would like to recognize Serk. She was so attentive to our family, making sure we had what we needed. At the same time getting to know us. It was more conversational than transactional. This really added an extra level of service. Thank you Serk for being absolutely amazing.

Dined at Liv and from the start the staff was super attentive. I had the duck breast and it was done to perfection, with crunchy delicious skin and loved how it came sliced. We brought our own wine and Shelly, the sommelier, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about our wine. She did a candle decant of the wine and let us taste the decanted and non decanted to taste the difference, which was very interesting. For dessert I had a chocolate flourless concoction that was smooth, creamy and delicious. Will definitely return.
The quality of the food and service is excellent. Professional while also being friendly and accommodating. We often have Serk looking after our table, which is perfect! Dietary restrictions: The staff and kitchen staff are very careful to accommodate our family s food allergy issues.
First time we have been to this restaurant and by far better than the Keg! A bit of a hidden gem. We both had the Rib Eye and both of our meals were cooked to perfection. The shell 4x appetizer was an excellent start to our meal. The little touches they do with the warm hand towels and the extras before, during and after the meals were unexpected, but a great way to enhance the meals and service. Kudos to the chef! And I can t say enough of our server, Rachael. She was extremely pleasant and always checking in to make sure our evening was going well. One of the best services we ve had and we eat out quite a bit!

We had a reservation for 6pm for the 2 of us. We were greeted very warmly by the hostess and seated immediately. They provided a purse bench (a bench to put your purse on) Our waiter was James- he was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. He had great timing and didn t hover. The runner was Adam and he was very pleasant too. The manager, Shelley was great as well. She made her way around the restaurant talking with her guests, and checking in on them. I had a glass of Prosecco and my husband had the port lemonade- both drinks were great. My husband had the chicken supreme- it was so delicious. The portion size was excellent- he cleared his plate. I had the gnocchi special- it was also great- portion size was quite large and I couldn t finish it. We had the fondue for 2. The chocolate fondue was to die for. Such a great night.
Excellent service and main courses. Would be nice for more dessert options but excellent otherwise.

Went here for breakfast both mornings during a short stay at White Oaks and my girlfriend and I were very pleased with the entire experience. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of options to choose from that were certainly above typical breakfast buffet quality. The a La carte options, specifically broken eggs, was a step above the buffet at a comparable price - and was also greatly enjoyed. Ryan was an excellent server and always made sure we were taken care of throughout both visits.
dinner came with a glass of welcome sparkling wine. service was great. the highlight was the mussels; tasty, was a good portion and paired well with the complimentary bread..especially the cheese brioche. the passion fruit sorbet between courses also surprisingly stood out. the cheesecake was fine and the duck and sweet potato mash was good. brussels sprouts were heavy but still delicious.

I am disappointed to say that I just had a terrible experience at LIV this evening. I was very much looking forward to this meal, as I ve always enjoyed myself here. However, our server this evening (James) was remarkably rude his attitude and comments were very unprofessional throughout the duration of our meal. He chastised one of us for wasting ketchup. He didn t make any effort to be friendly nor hospitable. I would expect a server to be attentive, concerned, and go the extra mile to ensure their guests are content (or even thrilled) by their evening. This dinner was a sour note on an otherwise nice weekend.

We went for breakfast and ordered the eggs Benedict, I asked to substitute the ham for turkey sausage. The service was fantastic, staff were polite, however, the food was almost inedible. The plates arrived looking beautiful but the hashbrown was undercooked and just tasted like grease, the turkey sausage was a strange texture and tasted burnt and the hollandaise tasted like straight butter. The only thing on the plate that was good was the poached egg, it was cooked perfectly. Based on this meal I would not return to eat here.

Went for breakfast with my wife to celebrate her birthday. The food was great . Service is impressive from the time we entered the place and the entire experience. Our server Serk was great and had excellent customer service skills. Surely will be returning in the future .
Went for brunch with my wife s father and grandmother. They enjoyed their meals from the menu. The restaurant had the buffet open that day and I opted for that. I shouldn t have. While it wasn t bad, it was lacking. The service was impeccable though so that definitely helped my opinion!

We had a incredible dinner , every detail met, warm towels to wash hands, started with mussels, raspberry sorbet to cleanse palet,had the rack of lamb and the scallops , which they split for us to share, dessert the Panna cotta with fresh fruit and rhubarb compote, beautiful music in the back ground are server Lola was a delight and Julianna was her helper also a delight. If u want a special night out , I highly recommend

Visited LIV in October 2022 and just generally fell short of expectations for food and service. My fiancé and I had gotten engaged earlier in the day, and we had booked this dinner to celebrate. Service we received that evening was below average, server wasnt particularly attentive (honestly felt like we were eating at a local bar/pub). I added a note beforehand that it was a celebration dinner for our engagement - I wasnt expecting anything in particular except maybe a bit of acknowledgement or more attentive service given the occasion. I thought maybe the note was missed but at the end we were kindly given our choice of a dessert. We went with what I believe was the creme brulee (it was served right out of the fridge and very cold). The rest of the food also fell short of expectations... Lamb was a cooler than room temperature. Scallops didnt taste particularly good. Fries were decent. Generally overpriced for the taste and quality. We were hoping to turn this restaurant into one we visit often since it was somewhere we went to celebrate a milestone but not sure well make it back here even if we end up staying at the resort again.
Visiting from out of town, We went there with another couple and was very pleased with the appearance and ambiance of the location. Service was good and professional until I had to send back my well done steak that was ordered Medium rear. They did apologize and after 18 min I had to call for the server that showed up after 4 min with another which I refused to accept. By that time all others had finished there meal and a med rear small steak should not have taken no more 5 min? This what appeared to be a 6oz steak was $68? My wife had the $35 eggplant parmigiana that was not cooked through and hardly touched the food.

My wife and I went to Liv for our anniversary. We went because of all the wonderful reviews I had read. James our server was personable and professional. An asset to your establishment. The food was superb! I had the bison steaks that melten in your mouth. My wife had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. I took away one star due to the traffic of people traveling from one side of the hotel to the other right through the center of this fine dining restaurant. Groups of 7 or 8 people at a time in sweats or bathing suits talking loudly walking strait through the middle of the dining room. We were there on a quiet night, so we were seated at a window. I would not want to be at one of the tables right beside this thoroughfare. Very surprising and distracting. Not what I expected from a quality restaurant like this. I will definitely return for the food and service. But when I make reservations I will make sure that I am nowhere near the center of the dining room.

Wow! We have been here a few times, and weve been pleasantly surprised every time! The menu is excellent, and their accommodations for our food concerns is so gratefully appreciated! Dinner started off with a flavourful and aromatic amuse-bouche. Both dishes were done perfectly, and presented wonderfully. Fiona was extremely lovely serving, and taking care of, us. (Many thanks!) I had the pleasure of visiting Liv Restaurant to celebrate my anniversary with my significant other. I was very satisfied and pleased with the service, ambiance and the food. Service: Upon walking into the restaurant I was greeted by the hostess who was prompt and courteous to us. She was very friendly as she walked us to our table. My waitress - Fiona, was extremely attentive, patient and informative. She put forth a high degree of care and we appreciated her service very much. The food was brought out fairly quick. Ambiance: The pictures posted on the internet dont depict how nice the restaurant really is on the inside. My significant other and I really enjoyed the artistic design on the wall paintings along with the proper lighting to supplement our food and table setting (Not too dark, not too bright). The restaurant is laid out with open with seating that is spread out making it feel intimate and private with the people you are having dinner with. The flowers on each table and the décor finishes are well done. Food: Every meal begins with an amuse-bouche of the evening. It was very refreshing and did its job to prepare our palette for the upcoming vivers. With respect to Chef Michael Prince, I will keep the details of the amuse-bouche private as it is supposed to be a surprise for the guests. Followed by this was a surprise of champagne to celebrate my anniversary courtesy of the Chef. It was an exceedingly nice touch. To start, my partner and I had the caesar salad. The portion was very generous as we both shared a generous bowl each. The caesar salad contained all of the usual ingredients that wasnt overly topped with salad dressing. The Parmesan cheese was extremely delectable. A fantastic choice I must say. Following this, we selected the gnocchi and the scallops as our main dishes. The gnocchi was absolutely incredible. It melted in your mouth. The pasta sauce was extremely tasty along with the bits of finely cooked short rib. The scallops were delicious and refreshing. It was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend these two dishes to any guest. Final Words: I thoroughly enjoyed my evening with my partner. Liv Restaurant goes above and beyond. They pay attention to fine touches. My partner and I received a very nice note inside of our menus that was very touching and fitting to our anniversary. The staff is excellent and well trained. The food is very elegant and ever so tasty. Portion sizes are generous compared to many fine dining restaurants. My regards go out to Chef Michael Prince as he runs a superb restaurant. I really appreciated the thought and care that went into the food and the fine touches. Well done!
Alphabet Dinner Club took us to Liv Restaurant at White Oaks for the letter L. To say our meal was fantastic would be an understatement! From the beautiful dining room to the delightful cocktails and delicious food, our evening was made even more enjoyable by the spectacular service that Eilish and her sidekick provided us. We had dinner on Nov 20, 2021 and breakfast the morning after. Honestly we were all impressed by the food, the attention to every detail, the atmosphere, the generous portions, the presentation and the service and timeliness. Our dinner server was James, give him a bonus . He was excellent for lack of a better term!!! We will definitely be returning! Thank you and keep up the great work! Tonight we celebrated our anniversary at Liv. It was perfect. The service was top notch and the food was better than most restaurants weve been to in the past few years. Our first time there ... definitely will be coming back.

Had the pleasure of having breakfast here the other day. Decided not to opt for the buffet and enjoyed a delicious omelette. Loved the chefs complementary chocolate and banana smoothie, a nice treat in the morning. Service was great.
Fantastic service, nice little touches from the chef, bison was great, beef was great and the potatoes were the best I ever had (veggies were great too). They also tempted me with dessert - peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake was amazing. Only con would be increase potato amount and veggie amount slightly. But thats if I had to find something wrong. Everything was really well cooked, and great and timely service. For a couple to enjoy dinner and dessert and one drink each, with tip, look to spend close to $200.
Average food experience , below average staff .... over priced menu . Not worth the money you spend . Would rather eat at cannery restaurant, zees or noble and enjoy the lucury service and amazing food there !

The only thing that I thought was a little off here at LIV was that me and my girlfriend thought we were treated with less respect here at the restaurant because of our age. We are a younger couple and the server didnt bother to go over what we were eating or offer a wine list for us. He just gave us our food and walked away for all of our 6 courses, I didnt see this treatment for all the other dinners that were older than us. Other than that the food was pretty good and the food was made very quickly and plated very nicely. EDIT: Thank you to the management team for responding to this comment with class and personality. I will not be following up to call as everything that needs to be said is already stated in my review. I would add another half star if I could because clearly they sincerely care about their customers. That is of course implying this person that responded to me actually does what they say they are going to do.

Another amazing meal at Liv. We have been here several times in the past and they have never disappointed. Bison tenderloin cooked to perfection and they dont mind swapping out potatoes and veg from one entree to another to suit your liking. Service staff very attentive and professional right down to Colton the bus boy/runner? Will definitely be back!

We came for Sunday breakfast on our way to NOTL. You have the option to sit outside of the weather is good. Made a reso but ended up not needing it - but recommend doing just in case. Had the broken eggs with asparagus and smoked salmon - divine.
Liv is such a wonderful place to share an exceptional meal. Henni is amazing and we always appreciate her smile and knowledge. Matt is also excellent as a server assistant. We highly recommend Liv to anyone that wants a 5 star meal! We would go every night if we could.

This was a delightful experience. Definitely qualifying as fine dining, the restaurant has bright natural lighting with clean lines and lovely decor. The throne chairs were definitely a conversation point. Dinner started with an unexpected amuse bouche, provided by the staff. Followed by fresh bread with 3 different dips. The staff was very diligent in adhering to our party, some of whom had severe nut allergies. Everything was clearly pointed out to make sure there were no accidental issues. Our entrées were quite large and the deserts were delicious. Everything was spaced out evenly so we didnt feel rushed at all. My only sour note is that our server didnt seem too happy with us. She was a little abrupt with us. All in all, I think Id return if I was staying at the hotel.
In the only five-star hotel in the Niagara Falls area, the ingredients are high-end, the chef s skills are exquisite, and the mussels are really delicious, highly recommended!
I had the breakfast buffet. The food is more upscale then most hotel breakfast buffets. Includes eggs Benedict, pancakes with a variety of toppings such as freshly whipped cream. Its the service that is really outstanding in its warmth and friendliness.
Went here for a special occasion and it was by far a world-class dining experience! I dine at A LOT of fancy restaurants, and this place ranks pretty high on my list of quality and service. Our table was ready on the dot for our reservation. Both waitresses who served us were extremely friendly and respectful. The food and dessert was mouthwatering. Absolutely loved everything about this place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if youre staying at the resort!
We stayed at White Oaks for a night as a spa getaway, and part of our package included a dinner credit at LIV. We had an amazing experience here. The restaurant was fancy, as we wanted, so we were able to dress up and not look out of place. The atmosphere was low lit, modern, and all around classy. The menu is large, with many options to choose from. Definitely something to satisfy everyone. The amuse bouche involved some sort of apple chutney, and was delicious. Both of us started with the mushroom soup, which was delicious, creamy, and flavourful. It was followed by lemon sorbet as a palate cleanser, which was so good. For mains, we got the chefs experiment of the day (swordfish with chipotle rice and veggies, topped with a fresh salsa) and the pasta of the day (rotini with beef tips, tomatoes, and mushrooms in a creamy cheddar sauce). Both mains were delicious, with complex flavours that worked well together. I dont even like fish but I enjoyed the swordfish. For dessert I got a cappuccino and we split the creme brulee. The desert was absolutely perfect. The fruit on the creme brulee balanced out the richness very well. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The staff at the restaurant, like at the resort, were so great. They were polite, attentive, and really easy to talk to. We had an amazing experience here.

We were there for my birthday today August 2018 for breakfast. My husband booked the table by the online reservation. Stated the occasion. My birthday was not recognized by the server. Usually we go there for date night on our anniversary and have a fabulous meal. Fiona always makes it special. I think we will stay with the date night from now on.
We had an excellent dinner at Liv recently. We ordered the linguine and lapped up every last bit of it. The portions were a little large, which left very little for more glasses of Henry of Pelham Baco. I would have given this a five star had I not returned for breakfast the next day. The service was perfect, but the buffet lacked what I expected from a restaurant like Liv. Lesson learned. Always stick to a la carte to get the real NOTL foodie experience. Will be sure to return to Liv at some point soon.
OMG.... loved it and Im coming back for more. I loved the atmosphere and very professional, attentive and very well informed and friendly staff. Great food !!! Staring with shellfish 4× appetizer also additional complamentary appetizer to try, great bread, sorbet in between to cleanse the pallet and great dish of scallops . Fingers licking good
Started out great; apps, atmosphere and service were excellent. Porterhouse steak was overdone. I retuned it for the tenderloin, which was cooked to order but had no flavor and was poorly seasoned.

We went to LIV as part of the 2017 fall Fabulicious event. We are locals and thought this was a great way to try the restaurant. We have done Fabulicious before and have had great meals and it is a great way to try all the different restaurants in NOTL. Unfortunately the heat was not working in LIV and the weather outside was minus 5c. It was freezing in the restaurant, I kept my coat on the whole time and my gloves too unless I was using a fork to eat. The appetizers were OK, I can do better myself. The main course was very good but the desserts were disappointing. The menu said lemon mousse with cookies and berries, well there we no cookies and only one strawberry! We definitely will not be going back to LIV or recommending it to friends and family.

Its an expensive place but the wait staff take care of you and the food is great. Portions are much larger than comparable fancy restaurants. They bring out samples compliments of the chef and the lemon gelato was amazing! The atmosphere feels more like a wedding banquet hall than an actual restaurant.
Delicious meals with plenty of selection. They have a great kids meal and their desserts are tasty. Will definitely go back again
We wanted a special dinner our last night in Niagara and we found it! The restaurant is in the White Oaks Resort and Conference Center. We lucked into a couple specials that were fabulous. $30 bottles of wine and dinner for two for $65. The wine was great and the food was excellent. We started with yellow gazpacho for an appetizer which was delicious! The main course was grilled salmon perfectly prepared. For dessert was fresh fruit and a bowl of melted chocolate to dip the fruit. Unbelievable! Great experience.
Excellent service. I thought everything was very good food-wise, particularly the mixed vegetables, which were prepared brilliantly. My wife didnt like the truffle oil on the filet but over all we enjoyed it and would come back.
