This unassuming Mediterranean eatery also offering steaks & burgers features a modest patio.
Absolutely beautiful meal. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the escargot was tender and delicious, and the creme brulee to die for. The service was outstanding too. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough
We had a party of seven and all were delighted with our dinners. We had 3 firefighters steaks (delicious), a lovely pasta dish and three different delicious salads. The service was wonderful and the prices very reasonable. I was recommended to this place by 2 other couples at my Bed and Breakfast!
The atmosphere was nice as well as the service at the table. The starter and the salad were superb (crabcakes and roasted salad), we had them as take out so the dressing and the sauce were on the side. We really enjoy the dishes. Unfortunately, though, the lamb meat was not fresh, it smelled badly even when cooked, I can imagine the smell was even more noticeable when raw. We would have preferred to be told that they were out of it and chose something else.
Came here for dinner and the food was great as all their ingredients tasted super fresh. Grilled calamari was juicy and tender as was the chicken. Only thing taking away from the chicken was the veggies being a bit too oily. The best dish was the seafood pasta. This dish had plenty of seafood including squid, clam, muscle and shrimp. Also the red sauce had great depth and texture which mixed well with the al dente pasta. Would love to try the other pasta dishes.
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service. Good presentation of food. Some of the entries tasted pretty good according to my friends’ comments. I think it would be better if the batter of the fish were a tad more crispier and the roasted vegetables were less oily.
We stopped into the Old Firehall today for a quick lunch. Service was okay, they started off quick but took a while to clear our plates and get the bill. Food was good overall, came out relatively fast and had some good taste. Prices were average, seemed a little high for what we got (one steak wrap and one chicken hero wrap) almost 50 bucks, but maybe I’m just overthinking. Overall is was a nice spot to try and would suggest you check them out on your next meal adventure.
Oh my goodness, please try the French onion soup! So flavorful. The Mediterranean stir fry was delicious and fresh, a perfect option if your looking for something lighter on the menu. The staff member was friendly and very attentive. Such a lovely spot.
Amazing service Came back today with family from Israel. Everything was delish as always! Everything is fresh and so full of flavour. Amazing greeting at the door Even with the mask George had on a big smile. Super friendly and very accommodating with food restrictions. We got the chicken wrap no wrap and my husband got veal parm. OMG! So good ! Definitely coming back again!
Food was good
Very pleasant experience, great wait staff, food was very tasty, ask for some extra seasoning if you like heat or garlic.
We enjoyed eating at this cozy and peaceful restaurant for Sunday lunch. The server was attentive and friendly. I had grilled calamari, crab cakes, and a chicken parm sandwich. We would definitely come again!
Most delicious food. Exceptional service. We loved my moms birthday dinner here. Highly recommend
We were in town for several days and visited twice because it was so great. The pasta dishes were great, topped with yummy feta cheese. Its a cool blend of Italian and Mediterranean food. We also enjoyed the Saganaki cheese dish with was a fun flambayed dish. Next time we are in town, we will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Roasted vegetable pasta
A Greek/Mediterranean-Canadian fusion pub style restaurant in the heart of the winery region in Niagara. Great little place with good food
Pretty good place all around. If you are local and dont know where to go, check this place out.
Eat it, it has no taste
Staff was friendly. Not sure why this place was rated highly as food was not Greek or Mediterranean. Perhaps in their definition it was but not under that cuisine definition. Seasoning was lacking, especially in salt.
Quaint charm with great food and service. My salmon was superb as was my wifes souvlaki chicken. Even the baguette of bread was excellent. 100% will return again.
Wonderful place, wonderful service.
Perfect dinner. Bruschetta, mussels, and Saganaki cheese appetizers followed by grilled veggie and chicken salad and completed with Crème Brûlée. Excellent wine pairing. Great service.
Enjoyed apps, steaks and Roasted veggie salads, wine & finished with Creme Brulee. Helpful and personable staff and delicious food.
Thank you to Chris and his staff for making my Dads 70th birthday a day to remember!! The food and drinks were amazing. Love the warm cozy atmosphere. We really enjoyed ourselves. We will forever keep coming back! Thanks again
Great service
Outdoor flies were a disappointment, food was good but not great
We dropped in on our way back from a winery tour. Its small and quaint and the service was terrific. The entrees were excellent and we both cleaned our plates. There was a small glitch with my pasta...I asked for no olives, but there were olives in it. But easily moved off to the side. The owner said he would treat me to dessert and suggested the creme brulee. Ive had many creme brulees in many different countries....and it was one of the best Ive had...made with real vanilla beans. Thanks for making it a great experience.
A lovely gem outside of NOTL. Great food and service. Definitely worth the drive. Food : 5/5
Very cozy place with great food and great service
Great bloody Caesar. Great waitress. Definitely will be back. Got plenty of work done. WiFi is good. Highly recommend the chicken tikka masala
It is so adorable and cozy! We were a late lunch/ early dinner and were given both menus to choose from! Delicious food!!! We also had a wonderful wine that we asked to buy a bottle for home....we are from Cleveland and there only for a short visit...very lucky we found this great spot!
I gave 3 stars to the food as my strip loin steak was very tough although it was cooked medium rare, the thoughness was likely due to a cheaper cut of the strip loin. The fry s were home cut and made . Service was great.
Great place to enjoy a nice dinner
After the butterfly conservatory my boyfriend took me here before heading back to London. It was small, great atmosphere with lovely and welcoming staff. My boyfriend had the burger and added cheese and bacon (I stole a bite it was great) along with a locally brewed beer. I had a chicken mushroom sandwich which was also wonderful and fresh. We both ordered fries. Also good. I wish I had asked for more sauce on my sandwich (that is only because I personally always put A TON of sauce on things) and it was really good! The only thing I would have liked is a drink menu with the prices. Together it was two meals, two beers (one on tap) he paid around $70.00 which these days is pretty darn good especially near a heavy tourist area. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Old Firehall.
Love the food!! Always great service and cozy atmosphere!
Nice little restaurant with a good menu and great staff. Will definitely return.
One of NOTL s best kept secrets! Service is wonderful. Food is perfect and prices are reasonable. For my husband and I, one of the best features is the ability to hear yourself and your table mates. It is not just fine dining, but it is genteel dining.
Food was good, but very less quantity. I ordered grilled Calamari, which was just 1 calamari small size for $$. Salad portion was so small with fish. Shrimp appetizers were also like most 5 pcs. Not sure if its just for that certain day, or if the portions are less for take outs.
UPDATE: the next day I called the restaurant. The owner called me back. Apologised profusely and didnt make excuses. And refunded the total cost of the meal. A poor experience at dinner -- but well handled by the owner after the fact. Sunday night @ 730. only one other table in the restaurant. The server took our order (stuffed mushrooms and French onion soup for appetisers, 2 plates of souvlaki for mains). Told the mushrooms were replaced by crab cakes because too many customers, more than 50%, complained about the mushrooms. Cakes were ok. soup decent. 20 minutes after app plates were taken away, server got up from her own meal at the bar to ask if we had room for dessert. Completely forgot to even place our souvlaki order. Then told us the souvlaki order was coming - the chef is working on it. We reminded her there were two and by this point -- considering the chef was just starting on it now -- we have to leave so will take them to go. 5 mins later she brought empty plates and cutlery?? We clarified -- its taken so long we have to leave. Discovered she only placed one order to go but could add a second. We said no, we need to leave. Just the one please. 15 mins later she showed up with a bag and the bill. Full price. More than an hour after we first sat down. Never apologised. Never did anything to fix the situation. Never even bothered to refill a drink. We will not be returning.
Food was 5 star!! Ordered the calamari, seafood pasta, steak and chicken parm sando. Everything was so tasty and well-portioned for a very reasonable price. Service was ok, place smelled like disinfectant but they also just opened. No kid-friendly food but again, food was very tasty. Compliments to the chef
This is a favorite for locals. Great food and lots of rustic charm. My only complaint is that renovations are way overdue, particularly in the bathrooms.
Excellent clean and fresh food! Great service! We visited twice during our weekend trip! Kid-friendliness: Kid loved the sausage and seafood pasta
FAB MEDITERRANEAN food with a twist! Our server was friendly and made some great suggestions to make our lunch exceptional. We love us some NOTL, and the Old Firehall was icing with sprinkles on the trip! Thank you for the lemon ginger tea with local honey ... my throat was happy, happy, happy!
Excellent food, very friendly and accommodating service. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely experience and we really enjoyed the French onion soup. The mirrors on the wall are absolutely amazing to look at while dining.
Good was good but they had a limited menu
Great little restaurant, great atmosphere, not too expensive for what it is.
It is a must try spot! Everything was amazing! Their Food, dessert, and staff! Definitely try the Gelato
Food was pretty good, big portions at decent prices. I loved the chicken parm! The service was so friendly and warm...even though we got takeout...she was so easygoing and nice! If were ever in the area again, will definitely go back!
Food was great. Service seemed slow? Not sure why. Were only 3 tables being served. Staff member serving was friendly.
Alphabet Dinner Club continued with the letter O this weekend, and we ventured to The Old Firehall Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-lake. What a gem this quaint little establishment is. Not only was the food phenomenal, but our server George only added to the great experience with his witty sense of humour and his 9ish ounce pours . This one is a dont miss if youre in the area.
Great Restaurant! George was a great server for our party of 6, putting up with our shenanigans. The food was Mediterranean amazing! I had the Veal Parm. Perfect melt in your mouth. Appetizers were all homerun too Do yourself a favour try this place out youll be back. It is small so perhaps reserve.
Poor ambiance. Quiet night, server leaned in the bar looking at his cellphone the while time we were in the restaurant.
Cozy little restaurant. Nice atmosphere and the server very friendly. The food was delicious! Portions perfect! only complaint they served the soup just before the meal came so our meal sat on the table while finishing the soup which meant our meals started getting cold. Timing is everything.
We caught them at the perfect time and service was great, food was also. Thankful we made the choice.
Mar2023: I had high hopes for this tiny restaurant based on the reviews, especially the French Onion Soup, which had raves online. My wife and I shared a light meal: French Onion Soup, Calimari, and Roasted Veggie Salad. The Veggie Salad was the standout, a 9/10; tasty and a good sized portion. Wed order this again in a heartbeat. The grilled Calimari was very tasty, but the value wasnt there. For $17 I expected twice the quantity, and unfortunately we wouldnt order it again. The raved-about French Onion Soup was the standout failure; a 3/10 would be generous. Its not my job to figure what went wrong in the kitchen, but I suspect the pot of broth wasnt stirred before being ladled into the bowl. The finished product looked great, but the soup was 75% oil, had very few onions, and tasted awful. We sent it back after a couple of spoonfuls, and it was appropriately taken off the bill. Sadly, we wont be running back to The Old Firehall any time soon. Our first impressions obviously stung.
Off the beaten track, so few tourists this time of year. We both had large salads. The roasted veggie one was especially delicious. A great spot.
Delicious food!
Nice restaurant, good food, friendly service. A bit of Greek influence on the menu.
Nice place, very tasty meal and nice customer service
We went to three different places in Niagara on the Lake before landing on Old Firehall. Every other place felt pretentious. Nice patio, great service! George was very accommodating for two young kids. His service was quick and efficient! A must if you re in the Niagara/NOTL area!
The best seafood dish Ive had in a long time and very lovely staff.
Excellent menu from realgrilled calamari to burgers. New patio fencing going in will provide a quieter atmosphere. Will definitely be a repeat customer. Food
Our visit to The Old Firehall Restaurant was generally enjoyable. The Mediterranean shrimp and Escargot appetizers were a true delight, both rich in flavor and well-presented. We also had a chance to try local amber beer (though the name of the brewery escapes me now), and it was very good. The Saganaki and French Onion soup, while decent, were a bit oversalted to our taste. The chicken souvlaki, however, was a bit disappointing. It was overdone and dry. The service throughout our visit was excellent, the waitress was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome.
Recommended as a nearby (4km) place for good food from the staff at Queenstons MacKenzie Printery without the crowds associated with dining in NOTL proper. Very good lunch special of fried chicken accompanied by salad, fries and a spicy mayonnaise dressing, crispy and not at all greasy, fries were especially tasty too. Appetizers include flaming Kefalotyri Cheese. A local Blackburn beer available on tap, friendly and efficient service, nice patio area or eat in dining available, we opted to dine al fresco but the 4 corners location at York Rd & Four Mile Creek Rd in St Davids can be noisy periodically (Harley-Davidson is just up the road). Well priced, good food and drink, definitely give this wonderful Mediterranean restaurant a try.
Good food and great service
Excellent service, excellent food, looking forward to going again!
Very delicious, fresh food and the service is caring and warm
I was in Niagara for two days and ended my trip here. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend if your in the area.
We went to celebrate our 40th anniversary and we loved it. The food and service was outstanding. The calamari and onion soup was definitely delicious. We also had the fish and fries and was as fresh as you can get. No complaints. George was very pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely go back
Enjoyed a late lunch on their patio. Pleasant service, delicious food! We will be back.
Cute little patio and fun little spot. With a 6 ounce glass of wine, a beer plus sandwich and veggie pasta the bill for 2 was over $60.00. Happy to support local businesses
Nice place, great host.
We were very pleased with our stop over here. The Chef prepared a delicious veggie pasta for us.
Fantastic service and excellent meal. Highly recommend, just over border. Bathrooms only thing to note as needing improvement, only because all other aspects were so great.
Very nice locally own restaurant. Food is good and the service was very impressive Food
The best.
Great food, great patio and atmosphere! I definitely recommend the saganki ( fried cheese appy), it was excellent!!
Went for the first time...good food and service...we will return.
Fun spot. We all enjoyed our meals, and chatting with our server. Definitely recommend, prices more reasonable than most places in NOTL area.
Very disappointed ordered two chicken Parm dinners and they brought us veal Parmesan dinners which we did not order. Spoke to the owner about it did not apologize or anything and then when we re done eating, there s four of us he just grabbed our food. I did not ask if you wanna take it home just grabbed it and took it away very ignorant. Of the first time. Also, the owner was training, a new waitress and was yelling at her in front of us very unprofessional would never go back or would ever recommend this restaurant ever.
All around bad experience
Great service, our waiter was doing an amazing job with so many tables and only him. I hope this restaurants gains more employees. As for food, it was Greek and Italian inspired, from what I tried I recommend the fish and chips and saganaki.
Very nice place to eat. Small footprint so plan on reservations
Food was very great. I ate snails, my husband had steak. And kids offerings were delicious. Very friendly staff. Thank you!!!
This should be on the areas top three. Warm and friendly people. Great setting and a fantastic meal! It was my wifes birthday and splurged on the Saganaki. Grilled and flambayed cheese. What a choice! We both enjoyed the taste Madagascar steak. I have got to try the Mediterranean twist. We closed with a very rich creme Brule.
This place has a great selection of food! At the time I was there, the menu was leaning a little more into Italian style dishes but it also had some greek options too. The food looked and tasted amazing but the place is a bit of a hole in the wall. That being said, the atmosphere was still super nice and felt really authentic. There were a few flies inside that were kind off annoying but the front door kept opening and closing and this year is pretty buggy so I can excuse it. The waiter was super professional and had a sweet charm to him. Will go back again!
The food, the service, Chris and George (there are more) were all terrific. One feels more like a guest than a customer.
Just had a couple of beers on the patio with a friend after a round of golf nearby. Beers were cold and the service was great.
Hello, We went to The Old Firehall Restaurant last night. We were So disapointed with Our meal.I had what they called a Angus Burger, it was a frozen paddy you would get from Sobeys. There was No taste to it, infact Harveys would have been way more enjoyable. . We will Never go back to that place ever again. . A Great let down. .The French Onion Soup was tastless, the worst We ever had. .
Waited a long time for a simple meal. Ordered Stuffed Mushrooms, they had None. French onion soup was tasteless as if no seasoning. Order of shrimp Mediterranean had only 5 shrimp. The taste was nothing to rave about. The other meal was Angus Burger, fries & gravy. Meat patty was not homemade but from a box. Cooked from frozen. Frozen bagged Fries. Not homemade. Did want Mashed Potatoes instead of Fries. Was told they didnt serve Mashed Potatoes BUT Smashed Potatoes??? So he had to have Fries. Gravy was bland. Very Disappointed!! $ 74 plus $2 charge for using a Debit Card!! We will Never go back.
Incredible food and great service was a very nice dinner.
Was really good but the real reason I m giving 5 stars is for the owners replies to bad reviews LOL
We liked the food choices and rustic look of the place
Local mom/pop shop in the NOTL region offering mediterranean casual dining Ambiance: Looks like what you think it looks like it s got a vintage look to it with the vintage feel. Service: We came in right when they opened so we had VIP service from the get-go, there is a nice lady that works here that served us and was very polite. Food: Saganaki - Kefalotiri Cheese, pan fried, brandy flambé Can t go wrong with fried cheese and bread. (5/5) Greek Hero Wrap Marinated chicken breast. lettuce, tomato, tzatziki, feta, whole wheat tortilla, fries or salad I got this wrap with the greek salad, I love feta and olives so it was perfect for me. The wrap portion is deceivingly stuffed with marinated chicken made fresh, it is dense and heavy, and delicious. Super healthy too. The salad is what you expect of a greek salad. Olives, onion, feta cheese, (5/5) The greek salad was an extra $1.99 but well worth it in my opinion if you love olives and feta. Chicken Mushroom Melt Marinated seasoned chicken breast, mushrooms, balsamic vinegar, mozzarella cheese, baby greens, wasabi dijon aioli, toasted bun, fries or salad We ordered this with the fries, massive portion again (5/5) the pricing is $18-$25 for the lunch menu and we had a coffee to drink. Parking: cozy parking lot, i can see it getting busy though and not being enough parking spaces Overall Great Experience, good food and good service. Nicem om and pop shop
Good spot for a basic meal... Nice menu, though minimal. Been here several times with friends...
Nice patio, and that s about it. Went with wife and 2 young kids for dinner on a Tuesday night. Showed up at 6:15. Waited 1/2 hour for bread, for which we had to remind the waitress to bring. Shortly thereafter, we got our shrimp appetizer (5 shrimp for $17, and they were rubbery). At 7:25 we got our mains. Wife ordered grilled calamari (also rubbery) and i had angus burger. Waitress did not once come around to ask if we needed drink refills. Was told the there were only 2 cooks, so they were backed up. There wasn t more then 25 people at the restaurant. At least have the courtesy to let a family with young children know that there would be a long wait, or at least be quicker to bring bread.
Really good service food was good, beer was too. Hope to visit again before heading home.
Was a nice intimate restaurant
I loved this place as it is very conveniently located. The food for my entire family was great as was the service!
The lamb chops were very good! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Would definitely come back here!
We just happened upon this quaint restaurant and so glad we did. The food was excellent, as well as the service. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and personable. We both ordered the burger and fries.
Very good food and the service was amazing! Nice little hidden gem!
Great, fresh & healthy options on the menu for fair prices and charming ambiance
I dont normally write restaurant reviews but this was an experience Im not going to forget until i tell my story. Positives. Cozy little restaurant with every little themed nicnac you can think of lining the mirrored walls. Hanging empty wine bottles, and other firemen related themes, jerseys, and old world culture items. Greek? Ill say greek. The service was great. The waitress we had was on the ball for everything. If not a little too much at times. Like a vulture circling the table to refill your drinks. Without warning there would be an arm over your shoulder grabbing your glass. Cons was definitely in the food. I ordered a balsamic chicken sandwich with mozzarella. The chicken was dry to a crisp and the balsamic gave it an odd taste. Too little cheese and baby greens. The bread was burnt on top of that. The fries came cold and the ketchup on the table was way past its due date and nearly black. I scraped off the blob i put down in order to get new ketchup. I spent the meal praying i didnt get botchilism from the cross contamination. My wife got a small steak. It was very small, lunch size, but well cooked. She left hungry but you get what you pay for. The rest of my family mostly got a cream based pasta. There was a very literal fight over the salt and pepper grinder because of how bland and unseasoned it was. Everyones pasta needed touching up. I hope this was just an off day. Dont think ill be back to find out if it was. At least grandma was happy and sometimes thats all that matters.
Went for our 21st anniversary! Amazing!
Good service and prices are very reasonable
We had saganaki (always fun and delicious), the fish and chips (which came with a huge piece of fish) and the chicken mushroom melt, which was very good. I should have asked for olive oil and vinegar on the side for the salad, as the vinegarette was not to my taste, but the meal and service overall were very good.
Great service and amazing food! The waitress was super helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent place for dinner, the service was great and food was amazing!
Awesome food and a nice atmosphere! Small and cozy.
I found the food excellent prices reasonable and very good service.
The owner hosted our whole family for our moms 60th birthday in November 2021. He went out of his way to make sure we had a good time and was a super host. Im so sad I forget the owners name but if he reads this, thanks for making us feel so welcome and serving us all!! You were the best!!
This was a great Italian restaurant! The food was so fresh, flavorful and aromatic! The wait staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. We had an exceptional dining experience! Thank you to the chef/owner and Geoege the waiter!
Off the beaten path in Niagara on the Lake and less expensive. Good spot just out of town.
Small and quaint had the steak wrap asiago. It was good.
Excellent service from George and food was great
The food was delicious, great ambiance, great service! We loved it!
What a hidden gem! Food was great!
Highly recommended! The food was really delicious. The atmosphere is so friendly and perfect for family!
Arrived mid afternoon, maybe 5 tables there total. Waitress appeared stand offish, when asked if we should seat out selves on patio. She said shed return with menus. Waited little over 10 minutes for her to come back out, to wipe down an empty table, no menus in hand, we left. Unfortunate experience
Very enjoyable lunch with home made French Onion Soup. Had never tried Blackburn Beer before which was on tap here. Very Good. Found the place by chance but will be back to try some other dishes.
The food was good, we had chicken mushrooms sandwich, pasta and a beef burger. All the item were well prepared. It was a cozy, neat and clean restaurant.
Rude staff
Amazing food and service. Top choice !
Excellent family owed restaurant. The patio is nice. The food is good but there are limited vegetarian items. Must try the Theoni pasta.
Small but inviting environment. Good food. Local beer on tap. Friendly staff. Parking: Smaller lot. But has parking available.
Delicious food, great value. Fantastic menu and wonderful service.
Cozy little restaurant with flavourful and fresh Mediterranean food. The staff were friendly and the prices lower than expedited for the quality and serving size of the food we received.
Great food & service
Such a great restaurant. An insider tip if you are in the area (on the way to the lake). We were there with 4 people and George served us wonderfully. Service 5 stars, friendly and first class food (great price as well) Highly recommended Vegetarian options: Auswahl vorhanden Parking: Auf dem Gelände
Had a great dinner. Food was hot and delicious. Service was great and prices good too. Four of us all had something different and we were all pleased. We definitely go again!
My buddies and I stopped at this place following a round of golf at St. Davids and we were not disappointed. 3 of us ordered the Firefighter Steak and we all walked away saying that it is the single best deal in the region. $18 gets you a 10-12 oz steak, a side of garlic bread, and your choice of fries or salad - we picked the fries - which were perfectly crispy. The steak comes with a generous serving of onions and mushrooms and mine was cooked perfectly rare. For what a meal at McDonalds we received a very high quality meal, which kept us full far into the night. We will be coming back!
My wife and I had an excellent experience there. Great food and service, George our host was accommodating and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone.
This was my second visit cocktails were not made very well, they do t have a full bar wine list needs improvement seeing that it s in Niagara on the lake food over priced for quality. We had the supreme chicken the server said it was really good I was not impressed. More of a hang out for NOTL locals . Not my vibe..
Really nice Mediterranean restaurant. You can taste that they use good quality food for the dishes.
Very yummy and quick service
Delicious food, attentive service, and fair prices. Good choice if you like to have a nice meal a little away from the tourist spots. Dont forget to ask for the desserts. They were amazingly good!
Nice little place you need reservations i would go back again Parking: Not to big enough for 15cars
Went for lunch. Nice sandwiches, burger, salads and pasta. We a mixed green salad and chicken Parmigiana sandwich with salad. Salads were very fresh. Chicken parm sandwich was good- frozen not freshly made. Ciabatta bun very nice and served hot. Place isnt very night inside, nice size patio. Intersection is very busy. Nice place to eat away form the hustle and bustle. Go to chocolate store down the road.
Excellent ambiance, service, beer selection and food. A local favourite and a great place to spend a summer night in the patio or a cozy night indoors in the fall and winter. Highly recommended for a low-key atmosphere. Great service, friendly and classy servers, amazing mediterranean food, and nice location in the heart of Niagara. Once you smell the food in the air you will know youre in the right place. You will not be disappointed!
Beautiful and delicious meal. Our host George was the most professional waiter weve ever had. So good. Highly recommend.
Very quiet local restaurant. Food task good. Server is nice. $$
We were running late due to traffic, they greeted us nicely and our table was ready. Food was plentiful and hot. A happy group of 6 people! We highly recommend dining here.
Service was exceptional and all of our choices were so delicious!
Great food with excellent service
Best
We went with friends for dinner tonight. All our us were pretty hungry and our friends asked about side salads to accompany their pasta choices. Our waitress said they would do that and made good sized Greek salad they could share. They enjoyed their meals. My husband ordered the veal Parmesan which had a scorched side that they put on the pasta with that side down and very little cheese. The sauce was runny. He s not impressed. My chicken souvlaki was dry and tough. I could hardly cut it - not tender at all. The portion of veg and rice that accompanied the entree was small. I m not a big eater but I was hungry when I left. We will not return.
Excellent food and better service. Irene is amazing.
Excellent! We dined at the Olde Firehall last night, and there was 14 of us. All of our dinners came out at the same time, served hot, and the food was delicious. After dinner, the server managed to give us all separate cheques, which eliminated an uncomfortable conversation, especially with a big group. We all enjoyed our time at the Olde Firehall, and would eat there again,
Great place, stopped in unexpectedly for lunch and it did not disappoint. Bruschetta was delicious! Mediterranean stir fry was a nice option to have on a lunch menu. Service was attentive and friendly. Happy we stopped in to try it out!
We really enjoyed our dinner. It was flavourful and filling. Some of the best squid weve ever had. Would definitely recommend.
The food and service is incredible here. Our server was so friendly and took us in even though he had a pretty large gathering. Definitely going back.
Great pit stop in between vineyards hopping
Such a lovely restaurant! Extremely comforting food! Feels like home cooked and amazingly delicious with very reasonable prices! Kudos!
Apologies for not remembering the owners name. He is a beautiful man. My 85 year old Auntie insisted on having her birthday party here and I know why. She was like family to the owner and it really made me feel so wonderful to see how loved she is. Thank you. Cant remember your name but Angel will do Dietary restrictions: Just ask...owner is golden
Had a family dinner. Food was great besides my daughter s raw chicken Parmesan!!! She told my my husband this is really chewy! He looked and it was raw!! We called waitress she came took it and apologized. Gave her a free salad. We finished eating and had to wait for her meal to be cooked then she ate. I expected more than a salad! The after her meal was ready and we were all done. And had to wait her meal should have been free! Completely raw chicken is not cool!! Parking: Okay parking
Great meal as usual at the old firehall. I had the fish and chips, table also had bruschetta and calamari apps.
Great service, large portions. Had the Veal Parmigiana Sandwich which was good, but not great. The Saganaki was delicious though the grilled calamari was sadly not really grilled.
Food was great, stuffed mushroom my favourite, staff was nice
A great little restaurant with hints of Greek fare. Outdoor patio,Good wine, lots of beer on tap, friendly service at a fair price. Something different for a change.
Food was a delicious suprise. Excellent quality and kind service. Will return!
Food & service was good but our table was in the sun...we were placed at the back. ..we had to physically move/shift our table few times to avoid sun..overall good experience..will go again.
The food is absolutely to die for and its very well priced. Ive told all my friends about this place
Great service, super food test
Food okay. Service okay. Nice patio. Be aware. None of the serving staff in The Old Firehall Restaurant wear any face covering at all. Not worth the risk. Lots restaurants with good food around the area observe COVID rules. Just cant image a business would still openly defy the rules amidst the 4th wave. Surely hope the restaurant staff would come around and help not spreading the virus. #Food, service, menu, patio, calamari, dining, value clean, veal, grilled, frozen
Great place. quiet. we went for lunch. DELICIOUS
Thanks for the great service George! I really enjoyed my visit with my sister. Dinner was amazing.
Actively violating COVID rules. Had to sit outdoors and mask up ourselves as no serving staff were willing to wear masks or distance. On top of that, they were actively discouraging people from wearing masks.
None of the staff wore masks, no contact tracing, nothing.
Food was good, thats why it gets 2 stars. But the entire staff wasnt wearing masks indoors, it was super uncomfortable. There were elderly patrons (one on an oxygen tank) who were all wearing masks, but the waitstaff themselves werent. Not COVID safe at all.
The absolute worst meal and service we ve ever had in all our years in Niagara. Skip this place.
Amazing place !!!!! Highly recommend!!!!! Amazing food !!! Amazing atmosphere!!!
The waiter a men no mask on Greets us military style for the vaccine passport!! Fine we show him ! Hes just border line intimidating and no social skills. The food wasnt that great for the price!! No staff wears mask at all!! Greek food not really existant either I would not recommend this restaurant
Tough meat in pasta, tasted like it was frozen reduced meat they must have had sitting around. Cold stuffed mushrooms. Dry fish . Not to happy
Nice corner to grab a local bite or drink.
Wonderful staff exceptional food. The old firehall restaurants will be a must have every time we return. Thanks for such a wonderful experience
One of the best French onion soup Ive ever had. Pasta was amazing. My wife steak was cooked perfect and tender. Staff was super friendly. I will be eating here every time Im in Niagara on the Lake.
Terrible food.... to the owners response saying I didnt eat there.. how could you even say I didnt eat there? Is it because you didnt get a better review? So your accusing me of lying? I was there with the inlaws for her mothers birthday. The only good food was the breadand the server was nice. We even complained to the server about all the food and all you did was offer a fresh plate when we were already about to leave. We shouldnt have paid for it but we still did. Now that you accused me of lying I will make sure more people know about your restaurant. I had better meals from McDonalds.
Good service good meal, I just went there at the time and I was still surprised by the service and the food.
Had the cob salad. Very enjoyable
Wow! food is amazing and the beer is just as good. Had chicken parm sandwich for lunch and just made dinner renovation! It was that good!
Nice place in the middle of nowhere...lol
