2228 Niagara Stone Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0, Canada
Set in a restored winery, this multi-room trattoria serves Tuscan-inspired food & wood-fired pizzas.
The Old Winery Restaurant and Wine Bar is a true gem! The food is simply amazing—every dish we tried was a delight. We started with a delicious salad, followed by perfectly made gnocchi and a wonderful pizza that exceeded all expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. This place has everything you could want for a fantastic dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!
The portion sizes and presentation of everything is great. The only issue is that the food was definitely lacking some salt and flavour. The pasta that I had tasted like it was not cooked with much salt. The calamari was good!
We were here at lunchtime. The plan was to try other dishes, but we had to choose from what was available at that time. I can't say I liked the pizza and toast very much. The soup of the day (mushroom soup 🍄🟫) I liked the most.
The food was quite mediocre especially compared to price, we ordered 2 of the signature dishes on the grill menu ( prosciutto wrapped chicken and salmon) both were disappointing, Salmon was small portion and dry and the chicken… well see the photo for yourself. They didn't either serve the wine of the winery next to them which was odd. Stephanie and Abbie were nice and accommodating and tried to compensate for the poor food, but we will never go again.
My wife and I travel to Niagara on the Lake a few times a year. This is our restaurant of choice. For us it hits all the right checks. Good food, not trying to be too sophisticated. Good service, the wait staff are competent and not kids. Good location to get to. Sure, it’s not downtown but it’s easy to get to and easy to park. The wood fired oven pizza is always delicious and the pasta dishes are good. Love the arugula salad too. So we continue to hit this restaurant every visit, never gets old.
We came here for dinner. We have really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and , of course the food. We took soup for the day, which was a mushroom soup and arugula salad with spiced pecans and goat cheddar. Really enjoyed the slight heat from the pecans and a goat cheddar gave a lovely kick to the salad. For main course, we had Ontario beef with mashed potatoes. It was a hearty portion, very tender meat with a scrumptious sauce and small fried mushrooms. I had orechiette with beef. Really enjoyed the juxtaposition of slightly sweetened pecans with earthy yet unobtrusive undertones of beef and very light pasta. The only thing I did not fancy was ice wine with vodka martini. It was not smooth or blended well, and it tasted literally like wine mixed with vodka, I think it would have benefitted from lemon juice splash or a triple sec , or better yet make a Gimpet with a a layered splash of ice wine at the bottom. It was a very good choice for dinner after a Niagara trip and winery visit.
We had a very nice meal as part of a wine tour. We sat on the patio which I recommend if the weather is right. Our waitress was amazing and the food was quite good. The pizza was very good, a little heavy on the dry herbs. The carbonara and orecchiette were well cooked but needed a little more flavour. The Brussel sprouts were amazing as was the antipasto board. We enjoyed the calamari and the hamburger too.
seeing high reviews for the restaurant, so I Took my kids for dinner during Christmas break time. Honestly speaking, it’s quite disappointing. My 13 years old son ordered the most expensive main dish: short ribs, and portion is so small that my boy still starving after, so I ordered another pizza for him. My 9 years old ordered pasta, it is good, but I didn’t taste better than home made . Two pizzas are thin crust pizzas from wood oven , which are delicious. Service is good and attentive, interior design is modern classic , overall, I think it’s better suited for couples or business settings , not for kids.
We drive 30 mins several times a year. Love this place, food is always tasty, service is always great and beer is cold. Great prices. Will keep coming back. Thanks for always making our date night my favourite restaurant in NOTL. The owner is also so friendly.
Cream of mushroom soup was the soup of the day today and it was too salty and even spicy and did not taste well - definitely not what you would expect from a cream of mushroom. Also ordered beef short rib and that sauce was also too salty. Crispy calamari, unfortunately was not much better, as if the quality of the calamari itself wasn t good. Pizza and fries were ok
We travel from Oakville to eat here. Excellent food and a nice wine list.
Dinner with friends, food and service were excellent. The calamari was one of the best Ive had in years. The gnocchi with Gorgonzola was superb. We enjoyed every part of the meal. Only negative is they only serve Ontario wine by the glass and its overpriced. Ive had Caymus Cab Sauv, for less than what is charged for a basic Ontario Wine
Dined here on two separate days, had the Gewurtz pizza and the burger as mains. Both were great, the pizza was especially great. The desserts were absolutely amazing. Honestly, deserving of a michelin star!
The pizza was good and we tried 2 white wines we liked. We did not have time for the whole tasting, but I would definitely tried.
Amazing dinner and service. Highly recommend
Having the pompei oven and use precooked bought low quality dough - unacceptable. Ask your pizzayola to learn to knead the dough on your own. Otherwise, all those stuff (oven, great toppings) for nothing
Walked in the door only to hear the host tell us, I thought we were going to close early, but our website says we re open till 10, so we ll have to serve you . We turned around and walked out.
Desio..I know u looking for reviews. Undoubtedly mast jagah hai.
We enjoy dining at the Old Winery. A favorite stop in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
We had our sons rehearsal dinner there last Friday and it was fantastic. The service and food was wonderful. Our guests raved to us about how great it was. The private room was perfect and Lori who co-ordinated this was a pleasure to work with and did everything she said she would. Overall great experience. Thanks for going above and beyond
Donna was a great server. Lovely dinner.
Nice authentic Italian eatery place
Freaking incredible! We had our wedding reception here and it exceeded all of our expectations! All of our guests were raving about the food!, the staff was amazing, every detail from day 1 with the Lori made our wedding day that much better! We will highly recommend and probably be back for future events! Thank you for accommodating us !
Love here !!!
Delicious food and great service
Amazing experience, I think I will go here only next time when i crave good gnocchi and best wine
I cant say enough about this fabulous establishment. We went for a rehearsal dinner. We were a party of 20. Abby our server was incredible from start to finish. The food was excellent and each course was better and better. Ambiance , cleanliness, friendly, and an absolute pleasurable experience. Thank you to all the cooks and service staff. I highly recommend this establishment.. cheers
Excellent spot, patio looks amazing, staff was very friendly, food was good, we ordered gnocchi and chicken carbonara, both good, chicken a bit dry. Recommend this place, parking was also available.
A safe choice for Italian. We ordered a caesar salad, the prosciutto pizza and mushroom Orechiette. They were good and good portioned, but no extraordinary flavours or textures.
Excellent !!!!!!!! Better than the best amazing service !!!!!!!
Amazing pizza. Period. No other words needed.
Excellent thin crust pizza.
Great location reasonable prices. Food is very good.
My go-to in NOTL.
Our meal on Sunday evening was very disappointing. The olives were blah , veg spaghetti was bland ; the pizzas were just ok more cardboard taste.
Nice place, very good service. Ordered 3 different pasta dishes, two were very bland, no salt to speak of.
I have really struggled to find places to eat in Canada that do gluten free options but this place has lots of choices and the food was amazing (which is not always the case for gluten free food). We haven t stopped talking about how nice it was. Our server Donna was lovely as well, definitely recommend!
Great place! Great food! Great service! Our waitress was amazing! Will come back again for sure!
Excellent wood fire pizza.
Stopped for wine & a snack sitting at the bar. It was good.
Had a reservation for 12 pm on a Wed secured via email. We were going to be late because of the thunderstorm so I emailed telling them that. We drove 2 hours in the thunderstorm, got there and doors were locked. An employee saw us standing outside in the rain and didnt open the door or come to us. We called and the recorded message says theyre open. Super disappointed, especially after that employee saw us and ignored us.
Disgusted and appalled, went for an anniversary lunch, there was hair in my girlfriends pasta, so we sent it back. Obviously a big inconvenience, my food was getting cold as we waited for hers to arrive, and her appetite was lost after seeing a curly hair in her pasta, so I did not tip. Afterwards, one of the male employees came to the table, dropped the bill, and said aggressively Is this a mistake, did you make a mistake and not leave a tip. I told him no, there was no mistake. To which he scarfed and said sure passive aggressively. In my entire life, I have never been approached in such a rude and aggressive way at a restaurant for not leaving a tip. Do better, this is not how you treat customers, and for the life of me, I cannot believe you think youre entitled to a tip for the experience we had.
Service and atmosphere were great. The food was okay. My husband ordered the meatballs with bocconcini. The meatballs were tough. Difficult to cut with a knife. I ordered the chardonnay pizza. Had good flavor but chincy on the toppings. One piece of chicken on each slice of pizza. I wouldnt recommend going there for food. Maybe a drink and dessert.
We ordered carbonara chicken pasta and it was excellent. Great service.
It was a slow start. A whole lineup of customers waiting at the door when I counted 15+ empty tables. Staff were walking around wondering where the hostess was. Eventually we were seated. Our waitress was great. Food was fantastic. Both the pizza and pasta were delicious. Amazing chef!
Food was fantastic, we all enjoyed our meals
Busy location, lots of menu items, the marinara sauce was great, nice wine selection. Carbonara was more like a fettuccini Alfredo, but it was decent.
We came here looking for a pizza place. Found this place on Google Maps but when we got there it was nothing like what we saw on Google. They were only open downstairs and had a lunch menu with not much choice. Food was mushy(both pizza and sandwich). Would not recommend this place. (They even added the tip to the bill themselves)
The restaurant was busy when we arrived but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. We ordered and waited around 40 minutes. When our food arrived the pizza, gnocchi, and pasta carbonara were all hot and good. However the burger and fries were lukewarm at best, by the look of the meal it was obvious it had been prepared and waited for the other meals. The server promptly offered me another option it was prepared within 5 minutes and served hot which allowed me to enjoy my meal with my family. When our check arrived we were not charged for the burger meal without even asking. The quick correction of a mistake made this a pleasant experience and the restaurant one I would recommend.
We have been coming to the Old Winery for the last couple of years. We make sure to drive at least once every year. Sorry to say but there is a visible decline in the service quality. The service used to be very personal, its no longer the same. The gentleman came after a long wait to take our order, no greetings nothing. After we were done, I literally had to go find him to bring us the check. Not even a courtesy how is the food? To the place we have looked forward to come to every year, lets just say very disappointed with the service. Food was good. Like their pizza and gnocchi on tomato sauce.
Very cute place with tasty food and great service! Fantastic spot for lunch or dinner. Their prosciutto wrapped chicken with risotto was super tasty! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Excellent service and food. The outside patio is beautiful. Will definitely be back.
The calamari was the most tender that I have ever had. The pizzas were delicious, and the creme brule was to die for.
Food came out an hour later. There was hair in one of the dishes and manager of the restaurant did not bother to even come out and apologize.
Took my family and some friends for lunch last Sunday. Everybody loved their pizzas and pastas. The staff was very patient and quick to accommodate our party of 14 people including kids. Good service. Great jobs guys, we will be back.
Unbelievable bad worse experiance ever. We reserved got their at 1930 on time. The host refused to look at us or acknowledge us about 10 times. We even called to her but she walked away. At 2000h we talk to a waitress that we had to search for we asked what going on she said its busy but things are moving. We had to leave because nobody would acknowledge us. Do not recommend.
Very disappointed with our experience. They forgot about us. Waited over an hour for food and it arrived cold. Interesting how they were able to redo the meal and serve it in less than 10 minutes.
The food and service is always awesome every time we come!
Went there for the first time today. We were in a hurry because we were at a wedding and there was an hour to spare in between. They were so fast and friendly. The food came out fast and we are very happy with the service from the gentleman that was so nice and helpful. Definitely would recommend and go back for a bigger dinner one day.
Great casual place with great food and great value ! We ended a wine & dinner tour at this restaurant. Definitely going again!
Awesome pizza !
A good experience. Food was good not the best. But a good place to hang.
We love this restaurant. Its our go to every time we visit Niagara in the Lake. It never disappoints! Food and service excellent
Beautiful ambience. Our server was fantastic and regularly checked in on us. Highly recommend if you are visiting the falls. 25min drive.
Always one of our go-to spots in NOTL. Casual atmosphere, good food, good service. How can you go wrong.
Very nice place; especially their patio. Food, service and atmosphere is great. Drinks can be better. We ll likely be back.
The food was absolutely fabulous! A friend recommended this restaurant to us on our way back home from Niagara Falls. They have experience living in Italy, so we took their advice seriously. I highly recommend it!
Took my dad here for an early father s day lunch. We had Donna as a server and she was absolutely amazing! she made our experience perfect. I highly recommend this place!:)
Amazing pizza, the best I had in a while! This is a family restaurant and there were many groups when we were there so maybe a bit on the noisy side. Great, great place!
First we were excited to order the Chili & Parmesan Crusted Calamari with tzatziki sauce as it sounded so good. Unfortunately what we got was a tasteless over breaded plate of calamari - quite a few were like lumps rather than rings (where the calamari had presumably collapsed while being coated). The dish came with the smallest amount of tzatziki sauce which ran out and required me to go find our waiter to ask for more. I really feel the batter should not be so heavy and more sauce is needed. There was a chilli after taste which was good, but none of that came through while actually eating them (tasted bland and it was the sauce that gave it some taste). Next we each ordered pasta dishes - again I was particularly looking forward to the Pan Seared Shrimp Served on Spaghetti in a Basil Cream Sauce with Sundried Tomatoes since I love basil and sundried tomatoes. Again it was quite a disappointment when the plate arrived. There was way too much cream sauce and the shrimp were thrown on top with their tails still attached, which I would not have minded had it not been for the fact that the sauce was all over my fingers by the time I was done. The spaghetti was overwhelmed by the amount of sauce on the plate and the sundried tomatoes were seemingly swimming in it and could not be enjoyed. I really feel like the spaghetti should have been a thicker pasta (like a fettuccini) to better absorb the cream sauce - and the amount of sauce cut way back. When we went to pay we had been charged for drinks we never ordered and had to wait for the bill to be amended. I am not likely to return again.
Friendly, helpful staff.
The Old Winery hit the spot for my craving of both pizza and burgers! The pizza had a fantastic crust, fresh toppings, and perfectly melted cheese. The juicy burger patty with [mention a detail] was equally delicious. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere added to the great experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tasty meal!
Large restaurant with good menu choices. Will visit again & perhaps try outdoor patio. :) Parking: Parking on both sides of Building. Quite a few free spots.
This was a delightful discovery! I would call a family restaurant, with a nice quiet atmosphere (yesterday anyway) we enjoyed one of the best thin crust pizza I have ever had, amazing crust and lots of flavors. Everything else was also excellent, lets not forget the Belgium chocolate Crème Brûlée. Thank you Lana for your advice on the wine and the great service!
The Old Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar was a fantastic place, they delivered with excellent customer service, the food was delicious all made with fresh ingredients and in great portion size s. Really enjoyed this place and I ll definitely be coming back. Sharoll was our waitress, she was very attentive knowledgeable and always checking up on us, refilling drinks without having to ask and making sure we were satisfied the entire time.
Food was not great in my opinion. Service was extremely slow (it was fairly busy). I wouldn t come back, there s much better out there for the money.
Pizzas are amazing. Chocolate creme brûlée really good. Good to visit in family plan, friends, or dating it will suit any type of celebrations.
Had a couple beers and a take out pizza. A good experience.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with our meals. Both ordered the prosciutto wrapped chicken with risotto. Took 45 minutes for our food and it wasnt that busy. The serving was so small. Taste was ok but ruined by all the BBQ sort of sauce which was odd to have on the dish. $100.00 for 2 people to eat and each have 1 drink is disappointing. We left hungry, stopped at McDonalds on the way home. Wont be going back.
Went here years ago and hated it. Thought wed give it another try 15 years later. What a difference. The good and service was great.
My fav go to whenever I m in NOTL! Thank you Bonnie! Great service and food as always.
Stopped in for an early dinner. Had the Thin Crust Pino Pizza! Absolutely delicious! Thought I would have leftovers but that was not to be...enjoyed every last morsel! Albert, you make a great pizza!! Topped off with attentive service from Lori! Will be back...bringing the family!
Amazing food and service. They even gave me an extra plate so I could feed my 8 month old. Its the little things that count Kid-friendliness: They were so kind to my daughter and were laughing an playing with her. They also made sure we had an extra plate to feed her
Good place. Delicious pizza
Best pizza that I have ever had!
Always wanted to go and so glad I finally did! Sadly no photos as we ate too fast! Had the chicken panini with house salad. Best vinaigrette dressing Ive ever had! Our server was very friendly and helpful! We will be back!
One of the best gluten free pizzas I have ever had. Heck best pizza I ever had.
The Best mediterranean restaurant in the Niagara area, home made food, pasta and pizza are amazing, great service and good prices Vegetarian options: Pizza and pasta !!!
I was pleasantly surprised by this place, just went in before going to winery to have a quick meal. The food was delicious - pasta, pizza was amazing but the soup was something else. The staff were friendly and welcoming and got a nice table in corner to have a great view of both inside and out.
Excellent atmosphere and food!
I had dinner last night with my husband and a few friends. Our reservation was for 6 and even though my husband and I arrived about 20 minutes early we were seated promptly. Im only commenting on my meal as the others in our party enjoyed their meals. I ordered the beef short rib entree and unfortunately it looked better than it tasted. It was dry and stringy and lacking in flavour. The mashed potatoes were more like a pool of potatoes...very mushy and a very small portion. The seasonal vegetables consisted of one carrot...actually maybe a half a carrot and maybe three pieces of chewy cauliflower....almost as if from a bag of frozen cauliflower....so a very disappointing meal considering the price. I did enjoy my pre-dinner Caesar and my lemon ricotta cheesecake dessert afterwards. Our waitress was great as well. I did enjoy the evening but that was more to do with the company than the food!!! I will add that I ordered a Riesling pizza for take out for my daughter and she enjoyed it.
We were looking to dine away but not too far from the NOTL old town and this spot aced it on food and service. I cant say much about the atmosphere as we made it to the restaurant 1/2 hour before the close time. Stephanie was our server. She graciously seated us and didnt rush us at all. We ordered calamari, arugula salad, Chardonnay pizza and orecchiette w beef tips. Each dish was exceptional, unique and very flavourful. Pasta w beef tips/hazelnut, sweet peas, mushroom - sumptuous combo, found it a bit saucy though but didnt mind as it depends. some places has it less saucy than others. Reasonably priced and generous serving we had left overs for the next day. This place has made it to our NOTL restaurant list :)
The food was great and filling. Had a server asking if we needed anything close to every 10 min or less. The atmosphere was a bit boring with nothing going and no music bit it allowed us to just talk amongst ourselves.
Great place with lots of seating. Lots of different wines from vineyards around the area on selection to drink. Food was good as well, a little on the pricer side but good serving and flavorful. Has good parking space and great staff that was helpful
We came to this restaurant after doing a wine tour in the area. The food was great! The pasta was so good! The pizza was a bit too thin for me. The server was nice and recommended us some good dishes. She was attentive to our needs. This restaurant has lots of table and they are spaced out through the area. Overall, the pasta dishes are really good and I would recommend it.
Great experience from cellar door!!
Perfect!
Very welcoming, excellent waitress. One person in our party had pizza, and the others had pasta dishes. The pasta dishes are huge! You can share. The gnocchi, mmm, mmm. Also shrimp with basil sauce - very garlicky, so much to eat. We had a delicious local white wine, just a great meal all around. Food
Wonderful place! Wood-fired pizza. Lovely terrace; very European vibe.
We havent been here for a few years after a not very good experience, however thought we would try it again. Too many simple mistakes, 1. Not being acknowledged on arrival, even though 2 staff were chatting at the counter, 2. The menus are very tatty, this is your window to your business. On the positive side the food was very good, and I was delighted to see that they keep the Local wine prices at a more reasonable level, promoting them. We will be back soon.
Went here with my wife and daughter before seeing Gypsy at Shaw Festival. All 3 meals were excellent and their Basil Gin Smash was excellent!! Nice patio too.
Pricy, but very good.
Belgian chocolate creme brulee is legit. Pizza is very good. Very nice restaurant.
I visited the restaurant on Saturday with a group for a birthday luncheon. The servers were friendly and attentive. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice - airy yet cozy. However, I was not very impressed with the food. It was nicely presented, however, the temperature was moderately warm when it reached the table. I ordered for the main course short ribs and found them to be stringy and somewhat dry. I definitely would not recommend them. The best part of the meal was the bed of mash potatoes that the ribs were placed on. I asked others how their food was and admittedly they had similar comments about the nice presentation, but the taste was okay, but definitely nothing to rave about. Five stars for service and atmosphere, and 3.5 stars for food (rounded to four stars)
Awesome cloud like gnocchi and wifes lasagna was super.
Best fried calamari youll EVER have! The hand-made ricotta gnocchi and spaghetti was phenom! Please make sure you try the Ice wine!
Nice food, great atmosphere
Stephanie was nothing short of a great server. Food was fantastic and enjoyed our time there. Definitely a recommended spot.
Beautiful food in a beautiful location with great service. The short rib was cooked to perfection and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit!
The best pizza ever hands down............
Definitely recommend this spot. The staff is excellent and so is the food.
Would have given this place a 5 star rating, yet service was poor: our waiter barely stepped outside on the patio where we sat), brought us dirty plates twice, and poured my wine as if he was dumping dirty water from the bucket. We ordered Pinot pizza and beet salad, and loved it, but have been dealing with nausea and upset stomach ever since. Could it have been those dirty plates? This is one of those places where I would love to come back, but I am not sure it would be worth it.
Old, dark, dreary and rundown. Food was mediocre at best. Many far better places to enjoy an evening out in the Niagara wine belt region.
Nice restaurant. The food was superb!! I recommend going to experience the terrace its like being in a tree house.
Great food and atmosphere...server was excellent
A great little restaurant with something for everyone.
Very good Italian food and a nice back patio to enjoy it in. A few minutes drive from the historic downtown s area, so parking is not an issue. The price point is a little high, but all the dishes were great.
Fantastic
The best meal, service, and atmosphere we had in all of Niagara on the Lake. Absolutely recommend.
The short rib and grilled chicken carbonara were both fantastic. The Belgian Chocolate crème brûlée was heaven in a ramekin. 10/10
Good Italian food and wood fired pizza
Very tasty pizza available for takeout. Awesome atmosphere and very friendly staff
Very nice place with delicious food. We tried salmon, ribs, chicken, gnochi and pizzas-everything was delicious!
Although this is a wine restaurant, their pizza is also very tasty. I will definitely visit here again
Amazing place with great hospitality from the staff. Food is superb. Highly recommended. They made my birthday with beautiful memories
The host took our order very quickly as we decided we would do take-out and not dine-in. Because this was not a dine-in experience this review is based on the food we ordered. Chili & Parmesan Crusted Calamari with Roast Garlic and Dill Yogurt - The calamari seemed like it was a bit overcooked as it was a bit too chewy/rubbery. We were not given the correct sauce, some sort of salsa instead of the roast garlic dill yogurt, which did not pair well with the calamari. Because of this the taste of this dish was lacking. Grilled Chicken Carbonara on Fettuccini - We felt that there was too much carbonara sauce added and although it was creamy, it was a bit too heavy. The grilled chicken tasted fine, nothing special. Pan Seared Shrimp Served on Spaghetti in a Basil Cream Sauce with Sundried Tomatoes and Basil - We enjoyed the flavour of the basil cream sauce, however, there were only 4 pieces of shrimp... not sure if this is a standard amount per dish but if that is the case $24.00 seems a bit excessive.
Great vibe for the restaurant. Pizza toppings were delicious but the pizza crust itself, it was so thin and cracker like and not really authentic pizza.
The menu is very extensive and has good wine pairings for less experienced wine lovers (huge bonus). My wife and I spent approximately $130 for our date which is pretty good for the quality of food we received. 9oz glasses of wine were plenty and lasted us the whole time we were seated!
Great attention. The location is great, place is clean and not crowded. Food is awesome.
Outstanding pizza, pasta and service!
Excellent meal at a very fair price! Highly recommend!
Short ribs were incredible! Great service!
We have eaten here evert year when we travel for the graoe and wine festival. Delicious every time.
Yummy charcuterie board (antipasto) and wine and friendly service too
All in all, this dinner was really good! I loved the chicken carbonara, and the pizza was good too! I waffles between 4 and 5 stars because there wasnt anything at all to complain about, but was it the MOST AMAZING FOOD EVER? No? But I will totally come back! Good food, nice people, lovely atmosphere!
A friend recommended this place and we stopped by after visiting Pellar. We all loved this place- the pizzas are exceptional. The cocktail we had also deserves a special mention. The ambience was very nice and inviting. We had a great time. Brownie point- the cocktail was yum. Highly recommend this place.
Pretty darn good if I do say so myself
Delicious food, overwhelmed service on a busy day. No complaints about the food, we had antipasti and there was plenty to share for the 4 of us. We followed with 4 different pasta dishes (carbonara, orechiete, shrimp and bolognese) which were all delicious. And the orechiete was the biggest portion. The desserts were also very good. All for a very reasonable price considering the quality of the food. The restaurant is a bit noisy when full. The service was good and observant when we arrived in an almost empty restaurant, but as it quickly filled, the food was very slow to appear and it was hard to get someones attention to get desserts or water refills. As we were there to chat between friends, it was definitely not a massive problem, but I would keep that in mind if I ever was on a tighter timeframe. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend if you are in Niagara on the Lake and want a good meal without breaking the bank.
Rob, you re a disgusting human, a narcissist of a fellow, that believes in yelling at your customer over a failed pasta dish somehow makes us want to stay here. Your Public Health Inspections are atrocious as well as your service.
If I could give a negative star I would .. food is terrible, owner yelled at us in front of his whole bar staff. Unprofessional and exceptionally rude .. but hey, what does he care, he microwaves send backs and yells at all his staff.
We booked a reservation for Saturday October 28th for 10 people at 7:30. Parking is a challenge as it was busy and luckily we found the last 2 parking spots. It was busy in the restaurant and the food going out to the tables looked great. We were seated and placed our orders just after 7:30. Everyone ordered a main course, and 1 appetizer was ordered also. The waitress said that she would put the order in all together so everything would be ready about the same time. The pizza appetizer arrived quickly. It looked good and the rest of us waited for our meals. There were people that arrived after us, were seated, their orders taken and they finished their meals including dessert before our food order arrived. We ordered 3 pizzas, 1 pork chop special and 6 pastas. After waiting approximately 40 minutes, I asked the waitress if our order would be ready soon. She said it was Saturday and busy and should be about 10 minutes. After another 20 minutes I asked how much longer it would take, and she seemed irritated that I was asking again. I said that 2 tables that came in after we did, were seated, served and finished eating. She said it would be soon. Our meals arrived at 20 to 9, which was 1 hour and 10 minutes from when we ordered our meals. Closing is at 9 and they were busy setting up the tables for the next day. It was busy that evening and very loud in the restaurant so carrying on any kind of conversation with people at our table was next to impossible. Our meal was average. Our waitress seemed very apathetic and we felt that the service was awful. We would have appreciated it if the waitress would have been proactive and let us know that our meals were delayed and conveyed that to us instead of having to ask her a few times when it would be ready.
Tried to go here for lunch today. Google hours show they are open 12-9. However when we arrived the door was open and some guy was like we don t open until 3 . No explanation. Won t be making the long trip to be disappointed again.
Niagara Falls is best on the Canadian side (hands down). The best advice after is to get the hell away from the overpriced chain restaurants around the Falls. We did & happy we did. We just drove out on the main road until we found something. It wasn t long at all until we found The Old Winery. We were tired, hungry & still drying off from the Falls. This was a great place for a nice warm meal. I had a pasta & chicken dish. The pasta was perfect & the chicken had a wonderful flavor & not dry at all. The other dish was a piece of dark meat over a brown gravy & was perfect.
Food was great. Service was a little slow. Still a really nice time.
Great menu. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff.
Recommended 100%, my pizza was delicious! the attention, the atmosphere, the food ..... the lemon cheesecake is recommended Vegetarian options: There are delicious vegetarian options.
Went here for dinner based on hotel recommendation. It was amazing. Our server was busy but managed to make us feel like we were her only table. I had the shrimp pasta and it was delicious. I ate too much. We shared a bottle of JT Cab Sauvignon and it was an incredible bottle of wine. Please go.
The food was decent (Id go back, which is the acid test), and the service great. We had a half litre of the 13 Kings cabernet franc, which was fantastic. I returned the next morning to the wine shop below to purchase a few bottles. I wish the lighting was a bit dimmer. It wasnt crazy bright, but I think it hurts their vibe a bit. I know there are some elderly residents in the area, so I sort of get it and it wasnt crazy bright or anything.
We had a lovely dinner here. The portions are very generous, and everything we had was delicious. Our server was excellent.
Fantastic spot, great Pizza..
Good food, excellent service. Will be back
Lovely restaurant. Great food. Most menu items are available gluten free. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options Food : 5/5 |
Lovely casual but quality restaurant. Good food and service.
Server was super unfriendly and rude
We had a small wedding dinner here. The service was incredible and food amazing. Would definitely go here to eat again and highly recommend it for any occeasion Dietary restrictions: We had 2 gluten free and they had many choices Wheelchair accessibility: I did not notice a wheelchair ramp, but my husband had no issues getting in
Pretty good food, decent atmosphere. It was really busy so I would advise making a reservation. The food was reminiscent of the Keg to me. I enjoyed everything I ordered. Calamari was fried and not rubbery at all, it was really good thick pieces. Really enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts. Gnocchi was pillowy and tender, the creamy sauce goes with the dish perfectly. Nice winter meal. Short Rib was very tender, cooked very well and good portion sized meat, sides could have been bigger. Was still tasty Fettuccine Carbonara with Chicken was decent, didn t really taste like carbonara though Rating a 3.7 Parking: Parking is right out front of the restaurant.
