Visited Nov. 30 - Avoiding a couple other very packed restaurants for here. Has a cozy vibe, especially when you get a spot in front of the fire. We ordered some drinks, had a burger & the fish sandwich. Also a shared dessert. The burger was fresh, homemade, & tasted great. The fish was delicious & had a great sauce (gribiche I think?). & the best part of all, real fries. Overall came to just over $100 due to our drinks. (drinks were little pricey but on par with most places) Great service, sports on the tv, relaxing atmosphere. Would go again.
It has a great ambience with fantastic menu items. The beer flight was great to watch the hockey game! This lounge also occasionally has live music.
The drinks are worth the price. Service was amazing. Absolutely love the speakeasy/cigar lounge feel of the room.
The pizza was amazing. Would definitely come back here. Lovely lounge style restaurant in the hotel.
Nice staff, Jackson was kind, gentle and patient with us, especially with a toddler and a baby messing around. The strawberry ice cream is tasty.
Here for the day and wanted to grab lunch. I went to the Churchill lounge and sat at the bar. Absolutely love the vintage feel! The bartender, Rafael, was the BEST!! He made me the tastiest espresso martini I think I’ve ever had in my life. I started my lunch with a glass of the Jack Rabbit Rosé. I read some reviews about the fish and chips so that is what I got and it was delicious! For dessert I had the espresso martini and it was everything I wanted in a martini. Will be back next month.
The Lounge is the perfect spot for a casual meal in NOTL. I used to come here all the time many years ago when I worked at the Shaw Festival, and returned today to find that it's cozy charm and tradition has been kept well. There' very comfortable seating at tables or in front of the fireplace. In the warmer months, there's seating outside on the patio. Our waiter was very helpful with perfect suggestions, and we had a great view of the street. Food wise, the haddock fish and chips is hearty (ask for a double portion) however the chips were soggy, cold, and disappointing - not what one would expect when paying $32 for the dish. Also there was a problem with the digital pay terminal, so we had to awkwardly scramble to scrape together cash with no nearby ATMs. These are just a couple of mishaps on this particular day, but I'd still recommend this lovely spot for a relaxing meal.
2024 update! Perfect as always! 100% 5 stars without any doubt (more like 10 stars)! The lounge is one of the best I've ever been in. The ambiance and feeling is very, very relaxing with all solid wood decor, big comfortable chairs, books everywhere, a blazing fireplace, huge solid mantle, and the feeling like everything is right and comfortable. The service is impeccable. The charcuterie board is on a level that can't be beat with the freshest-sliced meats, wonderful cheeses, and toasted breads with an assembly that looks like artwork. The fresh fish and chips and the burgers were delicious. The live music is just an amazing, classy touch that makes you feel like you're in some other world. Talking, laughing, conversing... people here have a really nice time. We met new friends, bought each other drinks, and enjoyed the company! This place is a step back in time... a time that we really liked. Excellent.
A super fun environment, great conversation with locals. The bartender was excellent on the crowded burger night. Food
We just stopped in for the $5 burger and a pint on Wednesday and everything was great, Best deal around thats for sure, sshhhh please dont tell anyone!
Chicken wings and fries for $60. Chicken wings were bland and over cooked. Fries were soggy.
The good and not so good.. Would like to rate as a 3.5 but not an option Great lounging atmosphere, live entertainment. It was full but not noisy. Service was good but a little sporadic, ie didnt clear glasses, plates when we were done with them but took away a cocktail that was not finished (3/4 finished) Had the burger and a NOTL Salad.. Promising but not worth the money.. Burger (with cheese and bacon) cost $32 with fries. All the ingredients were good (pickle, brioche, tomatoe etc) but the burger itself was dry and overcooked. The fries were thick cut and very good. The NOTL Salad was large with nice ingredients however the Apple Cider vinegrette was overwhelming and to acidic. The salad lacked balance. Some honey or maple in the dressing is needed. I say this as someone in the culinary field. There was a pool of vinegrette remaining in the bottom of the plate in the end, perhaps 2 tablespoons or more. On a personal note, the salad would benefit from blue cheese instead of feta. One observation was that tables were not cleared after the guests left. I observed 3 tables of dirty plates and leftover food that remained that way for a majority of the time we were there. These were in the area between the lounge and the dining room, and were observed as I went passed them on the way to the washrooms.. For an iconic luxury property I would find this to be unexpected and unacceptable if I were working or managing the area and makes me, as a guest, question where else is the oversight lacking.. Nor sure if the TVs detract or enhance the space, as they take away from the live entertainment and can be seen as disrespect towards the talent. It maybe acceptable if it was a sportsbar with live music, but as a beautiful lounge, it deters from the experience. As someone who frequents the Niagara region regularly (Burlington) we will return in the future but maybe on a Wednesday fir the burger, just to see if our experience was a 1 off or the norm Digesting whether or not $120 for dry but promising burger, salad, 1.75 cocktails is justified or not.. The space itself is definitely worth a visit though
We had a delicious lunch. Our server Andrea was so friendly and did a great job! One of our favorite places when we come from Ohio
Enjoyed the $5 Burger Special today - the fries were tasty and the quality of the meat was good. Our server was also very friendly and welcoming - Id come back!
We were waiting at the entrance just to be seated forever, and nobody said anything. Finally someone said go further, and we kept waiting just to be confirmed where to get the table. It was a lot of stuff, and it was Wednesday night. It seems like they didnt want our business.
Terrible experience entering via the door on the street corner. Three separate staff members treated us like we were invisible and then a waitress annoyedly waved us in a general direction. Apparently reception is around the corner out of sight, and if you arrive from the door on the corner nobody can tell that youve just arrived. It was busy, but I can only conclude that was in spite of the service, not because of it. Extra signage would help patrons get off on the right foot.
Cozy cocktail bar in NOTL. On the pricier side but what we expected based on location and ambiance. Lovely staff. Would return!
I stopped for a solo lunch on my trip through. It was mid-afternoon which I know is not a great time to serve tables. But the serves were slow to greet me and get my order. The food came out in a good amount of time, but getting my check proved to be difficult. The food was delicious so I have no issues with that. But service could have been better.
Absolutely amazing. Ambiance and service top notch.
Cozy English bar / restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere located in the Prince of Wales Inn, Niagara on the Lake. Fish fry great, Old fashioned is phenomenal
Always amazing service & good! Definitely suggest going for their Wednesday $5 burger nights!
So beautiful inside, food was fantastic, the service was great , I will for sure to back!
Had a great time here with some friends. Beautiful ambiance and great drinks. Give Jerry at the bar a raise!
They completely dropped the ball. So far Ive been to the place 5 times, and had it all (Noble restaurant, Drawing room, Churchill lounge). Yesterdays experience during Peach festival was outstandingly bad. (To be fair the other times it was good enough but nothing outstanding that would make me want to leave a review). Issues with Churchill lounge: 1) Lounge opens at 9 am. We were there at 10:15, this time for cappuccino (last time it was quite mediocre, to be honest but I thought Id give them another chance to see if it was they standard quality or just a glitch with espresso machine). Also I wanted the Lounge atmosphere. But... the bar-tender was Nowhere to be found. 2) Their cleaners Routinely vacuum Lounge at around 10 am. I say routinely because both times I visited Lounge I came around 10am and both times it was vacuumed at that time. So if you are for the LOUNGE experience, that is not something you can get until 11-ish. So apparently lounge means the noise of the vacuum machine. 3) There were 2 waitresses who served some group of people. That alone was strange because lounge kitchen does not open until 11:30. They did came to see me but said could not help with my cappuccinos request. So double standards: they serve someone outside of the schedule but not you on the schedule if you make it clear that you are not planning to leave there a considerable amount. 4) The waitress suggested me to go to the dinning room and ask for the table. I guess what she did not know is that dinning room has minimal order amount. They dont just serve a 30-dollars cappuccinos. I took it as refusal of service. 5) Atmosphere. So the place (the entire triplex) positions itself as a luxury experience. In reality if consider visiting it you will see bunch of tourists in shorts and yoga pants. The only guaranteed luxury is the prices. The pictures on the web-site are deceiving and even remotely do not reflect reality. Food standards vary a lot. It is not the focus of this review. So what did I do? Went to a business across the street and got what I need with the quality it is supposed to be.
This is a very nice and special place, I would say. We (me and my wife) really love the place and are readily willing to cross the border to have a romantic dinner ;) Perfect service (no doubt!), great food, tremendous atmosphere. Once we spent an incredible evening having great dinner, fine wine and playing chess (yes! there are tables with chess boards! so much fun!!! ). BTW, beer is also great! Thank you so much! We will see you again soon! We highly recommend this place!
I have been coming to this restaurant for at least 30 years, and see the decline in service and food quality (the chef who ran the restaurant for many, many years just left). The waitresses are not trained well! I ordered a tea which did not come with a tea pot. The inept waitress, Maddy, just brought the tea with the tea bag in the mug (I was not even allowed to decide how strong I preferred my tea). She only brought milk..nothing else; no sugar, no spoon, no napkin, no little bowl to toss my tea bag in. As I waited for Maddy to come back while my tea got colder and stronger, she did not; I had to ask the hostess to get her. Upon confronting Maddy, she replied Well, you didnt ask for the sugar, etc.... In any other restaurant, the sugar (brown, white and sweetner), stir spoon, tea pot and/or tea bag holder come automatically. I didnt realize we now have to ask for these essentials. She should be fired for her unprofessionalism, nonchalance, and the fact that she did not admit her mistake and talked back inappropriately. It is sad to see such people working who really have no desire to fulfill their duties properly. Also, dont order their pizza; it comes with an egg sunny side up on it. How strange!? The elegance, reputation and flair of the Prince of Wales Hotel restaurant (Churchill bar and lounge) is there no more!
Good and very flavorful cocktails with a great service from Jackson.
Great atmosphere but food was just OK. Service was slow and server seemed overwhelmed.
Very poor quality food thats priced as fine dining food. To say the food was poor quality, flavorless, plain tasting and small portioned is putting it mildly. We visit Niagara On The lake a few times every summer and always wanted to try the restaurant at this hotel because it looks and feels like a fine dining place. We finally did visit the restaurant yesterday and it was a huge disappointment to say the least. The quality of food surprised us to be honest, and not in a good way. We had a seafood pasta which was bland, no sauce, just a hint of lemon, oil and white wine mixed together with some greens and about 5 small pieces of shrimp and three pieces of scallops. The dish was below mediocre, and pretty much flavourless/plain. Dont forget the prices are up there, fine dining levels for food of this quality, its disappointing to say the least. Second dish was a pan seared Bass which was a little better than the pasta but still very mediocre, not to mention the size of the fillet would probably leave a small child hungry afterwards, while also priced way up there at $61. It doesnt stop there, the service for the lack of a better word, sucked! The lady serving us was hardly paying much attention to us, while taking our drinks order, she was looking elsewhere and started communicating with someone else in the middle of us making an order, which is quite rude and unprofessional, you are talking and ordering a drink and she is pretty much ignoring you, and looking at someone/or somewhere else, leaving you to wonder if she even heard you. We were waiting for the drinks for a long time afterwards and our table wasnt even offered water during our wait. All in all a bad experience, bad service, food was honestly not good, drinks were mediocre and a final slap in the face the price which you have to pay for something like this. The angry look we got for leaving a small tip was also quite rude, and seems like some people forget that if the service is bad and food is bad, how can you honestly expect a customer to pay a good tip? We would definitely not recommend going to this restaurant, but if you must, youll see for yourself. Thanks
Busy place! Old world charm. The pub decor reminds me of a dark English pub. We went on a Wednesday which offers deals on drinks and hamburgers. Its a great deal for sure. And the hamburger is a generous serving. It could feed two people. I wasnt crazy about the potatoes/fries. But hey, it saved me the extra calories so it works out. Its so popular on Wednesday evenings, you may have to wait in line. We did. Service was okay. We had to be patient. Example: we were seated and waited about 20 minutes before anyone greeted us. The potatoes were no longer warm once our plate was served. Oh well, like I said, the burger made up for it. Its very tasty. It is a mix of clientele hosting both tourists and locals. Both millennials and seniors. It makes for a nice stop to experience the old world charm of Niagara. The horse carriage awaits you outside their door. The location is perfect. Or go next door for tea service. Or bring a coffee and enjoy the park across the street. Cant go wrong. And Wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair accessibility: Front door access. Wheelchair accessible.
Youve got to check out this swanky bar, where the service is absolutely on point. I sipped on their special cocktail - God Speed that s infused with pineapple juice. The vibe was just right, with groovy tunes and jazz music filling the air. Its the kind of place where you can unwind, sip amazing drinks, and let the good times roll.
Really unpleasant staff, we were bothering her
Excellent food in the lounge! Great service and good drinks! I would highly recommend the Churchhill lounge inside the Prince of Wales for some delicious cocktails and food.
I love this little bar. Its been a watering hole for me ever since I stopped working here in the 90s. Great food and great beer. Go on a Wednesday for cheap burgers. Edit: And they maintain the tradition of the 20 oz pint. Awesome As more places in NOTL give it up.
Very nice place to have a meal considering its inside a hotel. Great for small gathering. Try the fish and chips the favor is amazing
Great food and service, our server Andrea was so nice. We will definitely be back again.
We went to Dinner tonight, I had the fish and chips, it was burnt, tasted dry and was not worth the price. My girlfriend had the pork loin and it was dry and tasted like ham (definitely not pork loin). Still paid for it but was a horrible experience, didn t tip the waitress cause it took forever to do anything. Would never recommend.
One of my favourite places. Cosy and beautiful! It feels like if youre in an old classic book! We ordered fish and chips, and a burger. It was too good that we rushed to eat it without taking a pic. Service was really good!
Lovely place to eat. Wonderful service, thank you Rachel!! Incredible fish & chips and the short rib was yummmm!
Delicious food and a classically cozy atmosphere. Very helpful and thoughtful staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant, also a very convenient distance from the Shaw Festival Theater.
Nice entourage)
This is a fun place to unwind with a casual drink, lunch or dinner, or enjoy some live music over the weekend. Great atmosphere!
A charming spot for some great pub food and drinks. Beautiful decor, great atmosphere.
Good food and very good service
Very lovely and quaint place. Excellent service. Food was good, and also probably the best Bloody Caesar I have had. We didn t try the Charcuterie bar, but it looked really good too. I d highly recommend!
Excellent food and a very nice lounge with live music. Atmosphere is great. Every time I ve been here the food is fantastic. Fish n chips are great! Highly recommend.
Went for the $5 burger special and was very disappointed. The burgers were dry and overcooked. I believe they were pre cooked and heated up just before they served it. Couldnt complain because of the price but I had the same burger before and it tasted amazing. On their menu the original price is $22 and I would have sent it back if I had paid that.
Amazing drinks and service.
We went for the $5.burger and fries. We sat at the bar(bartender was great) and had drinks while waiting for a table. We were seated at our table in a timely manner(the hostess was great) and then waited for approx.20 mins.because our server decided that we had already been served or that we were waiting for our bill because we had our drinks from the bar at the table. She finally took our order( we had to flag the hostess down to get our server)....3 specials and 3 more drinks. When our food arrived it was COLD....not lukewarm but COLD!!! It was flavourful but I can only imagine how much more flavourful it would have tasted.....HOT OFF THE GRILL!!!! We didnt send it back but in hindsight we should have. They were busy and we had to be at The Exchange Brewery for 6:30 Trivia Night.... hence our early dinner arrival. We did mention to our server when she brought us our bill that our food was COLD and she was very apologetic but not much she could do by then. We live in Virgil and we dont get into town much because it is always so busy but we were very much looking forward to our night out....maybe well have better luck at the Bacchus Lounge for $10 Taco Tuesdays.
Bartender was great, good dude good vibes! Can t wait to come back to this amazing little town again
Really enjoyed our time here! Went on a Friday night and enjoyed the live music and a few drinks. Fish and chips were recommended by our server and did not disappoint. Great ambience and the performer did well to engage the crowd and play requests. Had such a nice evening that we went back the next night. Again - great ambience, good service and live music. Will definitely return!
The fish and chips brought us back to Ireland! They were astonishing. 10/10 food, the service was a tad slow, but worth it!
We had a lovely dinner with excellent service by Lily. The food was very well done and delicious. Presentation was beautiful. We had lamb burger and steak frites...Great options. Thank you Lily and company.
Came here for dinner after a show at the Shaw Festival and so glad we did. Was a great experience. Food was delicious and my favorite part was our waiter/bartender, Jerry. He was absolutely amazing and truly made the evening perfect. Will definitely return.
Really poor food and service - over priced & would not recommend
A very good place, multiple flavors, very efficient but discreet service, its really a treat and the atmosphere is great, I recommend
We were in town for the day and decided to grab dinner. We were given a table outside, unfortunately our table was lopsided and was sitting at a very visible angle. There wasn t much to add to the atmosphere, it was ok and can definitely be improved outside. The service was good, but nothing extraordinary. We ordered the salmon sandwich with fries and beet salad with chicken. The food was ordinary, nothing special. Chicken and salmon were both very dry.
Great place to relax! When weather permits I suggest you eat on the patio .great people watching. Very accommodating Team! Smash burger is awesome! Great drink menu, many local wines and craft beers. You owe it to yourself to visit. You will not be disappointed.
Ooo I love the history and feel of this beautiful town, this spot is amazzing Andrea was super and positive and made an excellent host and waitress!!!
Terrible food, got food poisoning from a salad. Service was not much better, when we came in, people ignored us, then when we ask to be seated we were rudly told that the hostess is in a different direction (when come in from the street there is no indication where the the hostess stand is), the same attitude continued while we waited and looked how they seated people who came after us. Just a bad experience, in every way
Amazing staff and amazing cocktails. Quick service and great atmosphere. Live music was great
Amazing and beautiful delicious food staff so friendly and professionals
Warm and comfortable setting . Drinks and snacks were great
Food was delicious and service was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Very cozy place. Haddock and burger (Lunch) is soo good. Nice service of server. highly recommend for visit.
Was here during the summer for lunch..it wasn t as pricey as I thought it would be and the quality was great patio along the side of the road during the summer is a good vibe will def be back! Great to rent bikes when your in NOLT and lock them up around the hotel have lunch and bike it off..we stayed at the hotel which has good but pretty sure it was haunted jk..has its quirkiness..but food here was good no complaints!
Apparently they don t have table for guests more than 4 ..?? Or just a way to not serve special guests? This place needs to function in current century time.. SAD!!
Oh wait! Can I write a review without actually experiencing this place ? Oh I wish I could, but no way ....this place DENIED a table for 4 + adults. Should I go all over about the routine crisis we have in this world ? ummm is that a discrimination against large group/family ? oh status quo of this place may be salient place with silent management to accommodate and keep up with time ?
Eddie Pizzo on piano was great.
Wonderful character, waiter was amazing and professional.
I tried the fish and chips. Amazing fries and fish was great. Loved the batter. Ambience was really nice like stepping back in time.
Great ambiance and good prices. They need to improve the lighting with warmer dimmer bulbs, and get rid of the TVs
Very bad service
Great cocktails at a reasonable price, especially considering the historic property we were in. The decor resembled a library and it complimented the drinks we were having. Id definitely come back again.
Came here to enjoy the Wednesday burger special. The burger was well done almost burnt. The burger tasted like a frozen boxed burger. I came here in the past for this burger special and did enjoy the burger. The fries were the best part of the meal. The fries were thick, crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. The local beer on tap went down well. The beer helped wash down the burnt burgers.
3.5 stars. Review for back in February. Was there for a birthday dinner. Had a great cocktail and cheese/meat sharing board. My fried chicken sandwich was a miss though -the hot sauce that it was doused in made it inedible, because it was a strong hot vinegar (no other flavours discernable). Our waiter was excellent and did try to remedy it, but fried chicken takes a while and when I got a new one with the sauce on the side, the sauce was unchanged. I had a bland chicken sandwich. My husband enjoyed his burger. Just dont order the fried chicken.
Delicious drinks!
Thoroughly enjoyed our delicious lunch here and the server was top notch, knowledgeable and on the ball.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves eating lunch at the Churchill Lounge. The whole place is such a vibe - it felt like an old speakeasy inside. We ordered the charcuterie board, soup of the day (parsley cauliflower - delicious) and the steak sandwich with salad. They were amazing and split the entree evenly on two plates for us (picture reflects the half portion if ordered you would get double what you see in photo). The food was superb! The desserts were even better! The banana foster creme brulee was AMAZING!! so delicous and flavorfull it didnt even need the chocolate on top. The brittany cake was also amazing! Highly recommend but bring your cheque book $$$.
Taylor was a true professional, very kind and courteous. Hes a real asset to this establishment. I hope hes on some level a manager here, people with his energy are rare in todays customer service world. Im willing to speak to the GM if they care to chat. Cheers
Food bad, service bad, drinks bad. Avoid.
We ordered the fish and chips and the smash burgers. The fish and chips smelled off and were simultaneously (somehow) over and under cooked. The smash burgers weren t really smash burgers. They were over cooked, dry. One of our orders didn t arrive at all and a member of our party was left hungry. The drinks tasted like rubbing alcohol. When we flagged the issues, the waitress got quite defensive and brought the manager over who kept us waiting for over 15 minutes. I will say that the manager was nice and comped certain parts of our meal but overall it was super disappointing. There are so many other lovely restaurants in the area that this one can easily be avoided.
Very disappointing experience. Went here for dinner after our annual winery trip. Smash burgers were over cooked and dry. Fish and chips were soggy and bland. One of us never got our food because the order was punched in wrong. Cocktails were very bad as they tasted like rubbing alcohol. The manager was nice and took some items off our bill. Overall, wouldn t recommend.
The bar has so much character, too bad the staff have no interest in serving! Terrible service, not for the first time either.
Very accommodating, extremely cozy and perfect for a fall day. Food was top notch.
Its a place with a lot of history, nice drinks, and good service, the only thing is that the place really really need maintenance, the cushions are broke. Could be an amazing place just need a little love
The most awful burger I tried in more than 45 countries which I visited, by far! Very nice atmosphere though
Id give them 0 stars if possible, turned away with 90% of the restaurant being open because the management / servers couldnt figure out being under staffed. Sad, tipped another waiter at Pillar and Post the $150 balance I had on the gift card for Vintage Inns.
Everything was perfect. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. Food without a doubt is a five star. We will definitely be back and Im sure this will become a restaurant we will be eating at regularly.
The food has nothing special, another type of bistro but overpriced and not really using fresh products.
Good looking place but service was not supper warming and nice. Having a lot of place waiter was not willing to service by personal reasons :) and advised us to find other place to eat :) but he has referred to overcrowded of lounge and preparation for dinner at 14:35 pm
Their service was on top of everyone! So kind and respectful. Always smiling and down to earth they didnt mind us talking to other server!! Normally other servers say talk to ur server. Im not ur server. I will tell ur server Their food was so tasty too! We got the burger, haddock, and grilled chicken salad and all of them were sooo good! The hand-cut fries were excellent too! Oh and when we asked for more ketchups the server brought a bowl of ketchup packs loved it!!!!
Great service and a fabulous bunch of people who work there.
Please note that the kitchen closes before 9:30 PM instead of being open until 10:00 PM as indicated in Google Maps.
This place has history and atmosphere to spare. Even just walking through the lobby with all the elegance and art you can feel an elevated level of experience. We stopped here for lunch during our trip. An amazing Charcuterie board and Sangrias before a Carraige ride. Will make our stop here longer next time, definitely a Must Do for anyones visiting list
Ambience was great. They were able to seat our party of 6 right away without reservations, which was surprising for a Saturday night. I ordered the pasty and my husband ordered the scotch egg. I highly recommend the scotch egg. The pasty was good, but Im not sure if I would order it again. They also had live music and patio seating although the patio only seats up to four. Would have given five stars, but the menu was not as varied or large as I would like and there were only specials for two out of seven days of the week. Still would recommend for a nice lunch or dinner!
Delightful ambience
Really nice lounge that was a great touch when me and my partner stayed at the hotel. Great wine list if that s what you re into, but they also have a good cocktail menu but I m unsure about the beer selection. Food selection also looked fairly good.
Didnt have the food (cause not enough time) But Holly Molly of you like to drink, this is a good place to explore! A large selection of wines, beers, mousseux, champagne (if you want it), liquors, and just all alcohol really. Nice atmosphere early weekday evenings. Cute fireplace with multiple TV screens for the sports fans. Weekend evenings, there is a show.
It s in Prince of Wales hotel. Cozy atmosphere but food wasn t perfect. Lettuce in chicken wrap was bitter. Portion was really small for steak mushrooms pies. Service was good. After finishing our lunch, we see that there is 2 more restaurants there that might be much better of Churchil one. The next time we ll try the cafe one absolutely and we ll have tea like English traditional caf.
Great service, very helpful staff and excellent espresso. Narrow patio along its building provides the perfect outdoors dinning experience during any hot summer day ;)
I actually reserved a table by mistake (wanted to go to Noble) and when I saw only 5 entrees on the menu and when the server showed us a narrow table by the street I was little bit sad and almost lost my appetite. HOWEVER, when I took a bite of the shrimp and apple roll I was so happy!! My parents loved the sausage as well. Food was just fantastic. All the staff were nice and professional just as food was.
This place is so classy. It feels like youve walked into a traditional English lounge. Their charcoutarie board was massive and the lamb burger I had was delightful. James was a great server and he makes a delicious caesar (beverage).
Nice place in the Prince of Wales hotel for a glass of wine or snack, without the formality or high price of the hotels dinning room.
Lovely spot
We just went for some drinks. Our cocktails garnishes on the menu sounded great, but when our cocktails came out they had a lemon wedge on each cocktail.. We asked the server why they didn t come out with the edible flowers, she said we are probably out, they are so sensitive you know. The cocktails were basic and not the greatest.
great food.. great atmosphere.. great service
My wife and I went here for dinner. We had the burger and the Irish Boxty. The burger was delicious, the Boxty was pretty good. I also had a Moscow Mule, which was also delicious. My only complaint was with the staff. Our server was friendly but inattentive. It wasnt until she brought our food that she realized we didnt have cutlery or napkins. At the end of the meal I asked for the bill. Five to 10 minutes went by while she and the other 2 servers stood at the back preparing cutlery. It wasnt until a server from the Noble restaurant came into the room and saw me staring at our server and got her attention that we got the bill. And during this time a father and son came into the restaurant and sat down. When we left they had been sitting for at least 10 minutes and still no staff had came over to them.
Fish and chips were awful!
The bartender was very personable and knows his business. All food was fresh and delicious. We even ordered off both the bar and restaurant menus. We cant wait to go back! We did not order fish and chips, but many other guests did and the portion looked huge and delicious.
In a wonderful historic hotel... Wednesday night the best 1/2 lb hambuger for $5
The Lounge is swelegant: a comfortable, classy bar. Five of us were celebrating a friends birthday, and we were dressed for a posh dinner when we stopped in here for drinks and appetizers. Prices were reasonable, the cocktails and food excellent, and Eric, our server, could not have been more pleasant and helpful. And the atmosphere makes you feel like you are wealthy, even if, like us, you are not.
We came here for high tea. The room was stunning to say the least. Very professional staff. The high tea itself was wonderful and we loved the fresh warm scone with ginger infused creme. The desserts are extremely delicious.
The historical building and its interior is indeed beautiful. The stuff was nice and friendly too. But it was too cold inside and the food was average at best. Mixed feelings.
One of my favourite places to come for a cocktail in Niagara. Service, atmosphere and product always fantastic. Thanks for not letting the craft of the cocktail die in this region.
A lovely place for a cocktail
Nice room, good drinks, great service.
3 of my friends and I had lunch at this restaurant at the Churchill Lounge area. The food was great! I ordered the haddock fish and chips and it was crispy, lightly breaded and wasnt oily at all! The service was good and the environment was casual. I will definitely go there again!
Very poor service and wait, we were completely ignored for almost an hour. Given the surroundings and price point, Id hope for more attention to detail.
Loved it
LlVery elegant
Likely the classiest lounge in town
Wonderful place wonderful town
A fabulous haven for a quiet drink in NOTL.
Loved the decor. Loved the food (Churchill burger and summer salad bowl). A little pricey, but it WAS the Prince and we only had to eat w/ 2 dudes wearing ball hats.....so it was worth the price of admission
Good
Great service and ... Food is original and tasty... Best Burgers in town!
Cozy niche in charming town
Thank you Eric, for your prompt and knowledgeable service. Wish the menu was a bit broader, but didnt have a problem choosing from the options available. Only criticism is that the menus themselves were not very presentable - a bit sticky and scratched.
Stopped in to cool off on a very warm day. Enjoyed some cool beverages and a lovely cheese board. It was delicious and decadent!
A wonderful place to have a drink and relax in the afternoon. Great service, fantastic cocktails. The cheese plate is really good if you want to nibble on something and not have a big meal. Their sandwiches were great and the pastry was sublime.
Excellent place for lunch or dinner. Given the setting and the service it is reasonably priced if you pay attention to what you are ordering.
Nice service, decent food, good music, and great Victorian era vibe.
Expensive, food okay but small-ish portions for the money. Great service.
Incredible interior - and super tasty food.
Tartar sauce is unique and burger is great also
Tourist trap. It took a very long time for our main course to arrive. Table of 4 next to us received their food before the 2 of us though they were seated after us. Server said our order didnt go in due to computer issue. Fish and chips mediocre. Fries were soggy. They were replaced and were better though I told the server I didnt want them (he brought them any way). Menu said 1 side with entree. Entree read fish and chips on menu. But I had to pay for my salad as the chips were considered a side. Go figure. Total bill was $87 US. No alchohol. Lunch took forever, wasnt that good. We left feeling we were fleeced. They get 2 stars for the nice ambiance which unfortunately weared off after waiting so long for our entrees.
I like this place, vintage
Amazing and cozy place for dinner. Went there on a Friday night and it was a little crowded. Sat on the comfy couch next to the fireplace, relaxing. They have live musics, the singer was amazing (sounded like Ed Sheeran). Ordered Moscow mules at the bar while we were waiting to be seated. They were amazing, afterward ordered Paper Plane (from the premium cocktail menu) it was awesome, would definitely order it next time I m around. For our entree we ordered Black Lager Steak & Mushroom pie and Churchill s prime rib burger with Cajun fries with garlic aioli. Foods were amazing and delicious!! Would definitely come back and have another amazing meal!
Who taught your bartender to pour a lager to sit on the bar for > 5 mins while she prepared a cocktail for another in our party? No head on a draught this expensive signals a need for more training or better management.
Wonderful, cozy space with a good beer selection (domestic flight recommended) and exceptional cheese (had brie and gouda).
Terrible first and last visit. Service was rude and lousy. Incredibly under staffed. Avoid $5 Wednesdays for burgers and fries.
Really nice lounge on the main strip of Niagara on the Lake. Service was quick and charming.
Came here for the included breakfast in our hotel package and the food was amazing. The service and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our server, Josh, was knowledgable, very nice, and great to talk to. I wouldnt hesitate to eat here again.
What a great casual drinking/eating spot. Very relaxing and comfortable. Menu could be bigger but they do it all very well.
Very good food but expensive
$5. Burgers are great. Very busy though but staff handle it extremely well!
Amazing food, friendly service, great atmosphere!
We went for the 5$ burger! Although we had to wait about 20 minutes because they dont take reservations, the burger was pretty good. Dont expect much for the 5$, but with an extra bacon (3$) and an extra cheese (2$), you get a smashing burger (we added the onion rings too!). Limited variety of drinks, but worth the stop.
Brilliant place
Tried the fried chicken and waffles. Was pretty good. With a Hobgoblin beer.
Comfortable and cozy!
Staff friendly, good deal on food
Cozy! Great food and great service!
Busy. Basic pub food
Great in everyway! Cozy chairs by the fireplace, love the winter cocktails!!
Little bar that looks like from Harry Porter story!
This is a really cool pub. Reasonable beer prices include Ottakringer! I have never seen Ottakringer outside of Austria! Its one of my favorite beers in the world. Cool atmosphere. The employees are great.
Nice place for a drink before or after a show.
Lovely atmosphere from a different time. Lots of wood, leather bucket chairs and tasteful music. Great spot for a drink and conversation
Small food menu but very well executed. Large selection of alcoholic beverages. Very friendly and attentive staff. Pricey but worth it.
