Took a trip down to Niagara on the lake with friends and decided to get lunch here, ordered the fish & chips, the batter was crisp and fries was tasty. Overall experience was great even our server was nice and friendly.
Awesome little spot for dinner! On my husband's and my first night of our honeymoon to NOTL we wandered Queen street and checked out menus. We decided on Corks as the menu not only looked awesome but it smelled so good standing right outside. I wish I could remember her name but our server was so sweet, and when we raved about our entrees before she even asked she said they happened to be two of the things on the menu she likes best, as well as the fish and chips. My husband had the veal schnitzel, wow the flavour and cook on the meat was incredible. I had the maple glazed salmon and it's now the best salmon dinner I think I've ever had. She also gave my husband a beer recommendation based on two others he asked about, and brought a taste of the three for him to decide and he did like the one she suggested. She was also so cute at the end of the meal when we mentioned we were on our honeymoon, her reaction was clearly genuine as she cheered and congratulated us and asked to see my ring, it was very sweet
Came here with a couple of friends because we were all craving fish & chips. The server was very friendly and the food was great! The fish was crispy on the outside, not oily at all, and moist inside — just how battered fish should be! It was also quite a large piece so you will get your money’s worth. If you’re craving for fish & chips, I’d highly recommend this place :)
In town for a brief visit after 'doing Niagara Falls' to the South & could not have been more pleased with the food & service! Shared crab cakes & spring rolls, both dishes perfectly prepared & delicious. The atmosphere (Samara) sidewalk cafe) was perfect for an end of day light meal & our server (was SO cordial & attentive ... just perfect!
Great little restaurant and bar with outdoor seating also available. Quaint, colonial indoors featuring painted woods and period decor. Full bar. Excellent menu with large portions. The Ling Carbonara and the Veal Schnitzel with vegetables were fabulous. The cheesy garlic bread is without parallel. Sam, our server, was personable and very helpful with tips on specific places we were interested in seeing while in Niagara-On-the-Lake. We got in early afternoon and when we left there was no available seating inside or out.
The pasta is drenched in its own sauce, the pork belly sandwich was extremely dry, the crab cake tasted like sponge. Not to mention service was terrible. Server took 40 mins(NO exaggeration) to come to our table to come get our order. One of the overrated restaurants at Niagara-on-the-lake. 🙄 Not worth my bucks. 🚫
This was our second visit to Niagara-on-the-lake and each time we had our lunch at Corks and they did not disappoint either time ! The fish & chips is amazing and a must have ! We also ordered a Chicken mushroom Alfredo pasta , falafel wrap and a bruschetta....all the dishes were really delicious. Especially the Pasta !! A good place for a nice brunch/lunch when you visit Niagara-on-the-lake!!
One of my favorite restaurants along the strip and pretty much we eat here every time we come! I keep saying I'm going to try something else instead of fish and chips but ultimately always order the fish and chips because they are so good! Calamari appetizer is another can't miss dish! We especially love sitting on the outdoor patio in the winter months when the radiant heat is running! The seating inside is very Charming and nostalgic as well. Service is always very fast and friendly and food has been consistently good over the years.
Visited in the winter and wasn t too busy, but the servers were friendly and the chicken madeira was tasty! Cozy atmosphere and street parking was free for the holidays. I tried some of the wine from local wineries, as well as an ice wine shooter for dessert. I recommend the shooter vs the small pour for the value as well as it comes served in a frozen tiny cup made of dark chocolate.
Really enjoyed the service and the meal. Would definitely come again.
I love this place. I enjoyed the service and the food . The Christmas decorations was so lovely .
Food was very good had the lamb burger it was great and the Tennessee peach tea was amazing. Some of the staff had a little attitude but others were very nice . They are not set up for big groups but did try to accommodate us. (Party of 6)
We loved our visit. Our server was very friendly and was quick with our order since she knew we didn t have much time before the show. Our burgers were incredibly delicious and very very big. Definitely will be eating here again when we are back for a show later this month.
Delicious food, spectacular wine made by them. The waiter was very nice and kind.
Wish I could do 0 stars instead of 1. We were seated at the bar at 7:50pm saying there was a half hour wait for a table. At 8:35p we saw 4 people come in and get a table right away, so we approached the waiter and was seated at 8:40p to a table (meanwhile we were told the kitchen was closed at 9pm). At 9pm, NO ONE had come over to our table so we got up and asked for a manager. Horrible service, we ended up leaving
Had lunch there. Great food. All of our food was delicious. Lobster sandwich was OUTSTANDING! Good drinks. Nice outdoor seating. Our waitress, Aliscia, was terrific! Not one complaint!
Delicious food and respectful service in a good environment are the attractive features of this restaurant. We ordered chips and pasta penne with alfredo sauce was really tastier. Fishan Chips has a lot of room for improvement, especially the type of fish that was chosen and potatoes. The reception was very respectful and lovely.
I loved the decor. The food was great. Service was good. Highly recommended
This is a great Fish & Chips restaurant.
Amazing service!! Amazing food!! I recommend visiting this great place!!
We stopped in for some wine and some apps. Agatha was beyond fabulous and made our experience a joy. The food was delicious, fresh and quick to the table. Great selection of wines and something for each of us on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm ..expected to see Norm at the end of the bar atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!!
Corks Wine Bar & Eatery! The food was delicious! Arancini Balls, Calamari and Goat Cheese Bruschetta. Meghan provided exceptional service. We had a wonderful dinner!
Great food , great atmosphere and great service in a great location . Decent portions. You should try their home made wine and beer . Lunch including drinks for 4 people -$250
Outstanding food and service.
Lovely place and quality food.Highly recommended
The schnitzel was excellent. Was nice to sit out on the patio have dinner and people watch.
I couldnt believe how fast the food came out but quickly understood why. Food was not made fresh, barely warm. I was looking forward to the handcrafted Corks burger and was quite disappointed to have a reheated, very obviously frozen boxed patty. I have never had a worse burger at a restaurant in my life. Our waitress did not ask us once how the food was. I do not understand why this place was so full. I hate that Corks will forever polute my memories of this trip to Niagara on the Lake. There are so many dining options. Do not wast your money, time and experiences here!
They charge you 18% gratuity mandatory but not a good service. Fries were overcooked and pasta kinda meh. Service really not a good one
We went in just to try their Ice Wine and although we ordered just that, the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Thank you!
Food was amazing , Megan our server was very knowledgeable, friendly and nice. Would highly recommend Food : 5/5
Service was amazing, food was ok. Got the linguine carbonara and was rather disappointed. No salad, garlic bread or roll. Serving size was small. For $26 that seems kinda steep for just pasta
Brussel sprout appetizer was wicked good. Salmon cooked perfectly. Tiramisu was incredible. Ambiance was lovely especially after sunset. Front porch dining was partial open air and fresh.
Nicely heated patio for a fall evening. Unpretentious and uncomplicated. The food was bland, but everything tastes better after a few drinks. Vegetarian options: Very good proportion of veg options.
The great place to people watch. Right on Queen Street in downtown Niagara on the lake. Friendly service with a really nice patio that catches the evening sun. Recommended.
It was OK overall, nothing outstanding, what I didnt like was the voluntary gratuity of 18% I had to pay as we were a big group, I had no chance but pay. Not coming back again Food
Very delicious food and quite a variety on the menu. Their specialty is fish and chips and the truth is that it is very good. I recommend trying the local icewine. Good size plates.
Enjoy lunch in their sun roof patio. Highly recommended restaurant in Niagara on The Lake
Love it!
Very nice lunch on the patio with excellent service. But BEWARE the restaurant converted my bill to U.S. currency giving me only a 10% exchange rate, they pocketed an extra 15%, very disappointed.
The crab cake is delicious
To expensive for what you get!
I ordered a medium steak, but it arrived well done. We brought this to the waitress s attention, who apologised and took it back to the kitchen. She later returned, saying the chef checked the temperature and claimed it was within the medium range, despite the steak having no pinkness at all. We then requested medium rare. While the waitress was friendly, a manager then approached with an unprofessional attitude, saying, thats how we do it in Canada. (For context, weve been to other steakhouses in the city, and their medium steaks had noticeable pinkness.) The atmosphere became uncomfortable after this interaction, so we finished our meal, paid, and left quickly.
Fish and chips were very good.
Awesome food and service.
Ordered the crab cakes (fake crab), veal schnitzel, and carbonara. Some of the worst food Ive ever had. Crab cakes and schnitzel were way over done, and borderline burnt. Carbonara was heavy and rich, tasted like the sauce came straight out of a can and onto the pasta. Service was nice and attentive. Best thing I had here was the cold tap water
Disappointed with the fish and chips - lots of batter and the fish felt too overcooked and missing flavour. The service was good and so was the beer. Too pricey in comparison to the quality of the food. Food : 2/5
Went here for lunch. Ordered their Great Canadian Burger and Sinister Sam IPA. First off the beer was heavily oxidized and had little to no carbonation. Second, the burger was def a boxed frozen burger, was not good and it took forever to get to the table. The fries were mushy. For $26 you would think you would be getting a freshly made burger. Serving boxed burgers is lazy and cheap. Service was slow and not attentive. I would try somewhere else.
Carli at the bar was AWESOME! 5 stars for Carli As well as the rest of the wonderful women I ve had serve me here. Love popping in here for a salad and a glass of Pinot Grigio when I m visiting Niagra on the lake :) Erica Henderson Atlas
A disappointing meal. We enjoyed walking the beautiful flower-filled street looking for a place for lunch. We chose Corks and was disappointed. It was busy and offered a table inside, which was fine but LOUD. A low ceiling and solid walls made guests conversations echo and it was difficult to hear. The special was a fresh peach salad with walnuts and the peaches were so hard that they could not be eaten! I had the cheese and spinach pie with a small salad. The pie was ok, but the pastry was not flaky as the menu described and my salad was frozen! The employees were great but the service was slow. We sure wish we selected a different restaurant for our meal to Niagara on the Lake, ON!
Food was not worth the price paid. Fries and calamari were under cooked. Food
Busy place as it s right downtown. Sat in the very back where it was nice and quiet. Edward was our server and was great with advice with food and drink. Fish n chips were good. Not the greatest. My wife enjoyed the ravioli. Bruschetta was decent. Bathrooms were a bit of a trek down the steps.
We came here for dinner and got a steak, chicken penne and crab cakes. Crab cakes were outstanding. Chicken penne was also very good. The steak however was on the bland side of things. Service was excellent. The atmosphere is okay, felt a little gloomy and dark even though it was a bright summer day. We were dining inside, not on their covered patio. Seems like a solid place to grab a bite however
Weve been in Canada for 3 days and Ive had fish and chips all three nights. This was by far the most expensive and least desirable of any of them . They had a sign that said Best Fish and Chips, so I went for it. It seemed like it was 2 parts batter, and one part fish. Everything else was very good, but I certainly didnt get much fish.
I dined here with my wife and kids, our waitress was very nice and prompt. The food was very tasty, but my wife explicitly indicated that the wine glass was very clean. Hearing that from my wife is like receiving a Michelin star. We would definitely go back.
Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. The chicken was actually pintys buffalo chicken nuggets. We reached out to the manager who did not deny it. In fact explained they use frozen food in order to get food out quick. I would expect that at a fast food restaurant not a restaurant prime location Niagara-on-the-Lake .
Aleisha, our server is one of the most efficient wait staff we have ever come across. We found it easy to get her attention as she has the skill to view a room and prioritize all tables well. Given the excellent location of the restaurant it could be easy to get away with mediocre service but what we got was the best! She managed to correct a small deficiency in one of the appetizers without fuss and in rapid time; managed her section with ease and friendliness. Ordering drinks, food then the bill never left us feeling rushed. If mind-reading actually exists, she must have it. She made the whole meal-experience better. Oh, and yes, the food and drinks were good too! Thanks from J and S.
Have had drinks here twice. Outside dining area is great for people watching. Service has always been fast and friendly.
We had Fish and Chips, Tomato Parmesan Soup, Chicken Club Sandwich, Poutine and crab cakes. It was all very delicious! We will definitely be eating here every time we visit!!
Fun, light-hearted atmosphere
Fish and chips are soggy and oily . Other than that salads are great . Cool atmosphere , service are good.
Its haunted so thats why I gave 3 stars for atmosphere. The ghost kids were tieing the strings on my dress to my purse while I ate! - Naughty kids. The ghost in the womens restroom (behind the stall door by the air dryer), you watched me floss while laying on the floor while spying under the stall door... Youre weird and not scary at all! I took off fast once I sensed this only because I was confused by your behavior. I later found out from staff that these ghosts are a normal presence. The butternut squash ravioli was delicious. It was a fun time overall. Thanks!
Place was great, Food was really good and even came to our table super quick I was impressed how fast it came, everything was great even the service but the only thing was when the waitresss were working on the silverware and napkins together we could hear their conversation as they were talking a bit loud but other then that service was great food was amazing and the Atmosphere was great as well!
Love this place. My daughter wanted an appetizer,so we got the Arancini. Absolutely incredible. She also got linguine carbonara with panchet. She loved it. If your ever in Canada, come here for lunch or dinner.
Tracy was my waitress. She was super sweet and friendly. Great little place to sit down a bit and have a delicious lunch or dinner.
Great wine, great food, great environment!
Fantastic chicken Caesar wrap & friendly service.
We saw a sign that said Corks Wine Bar & Eatery had the BEST fish in chips in town and they were pretty good and the batter was light and tasty. They maybe weren t the BEST I ve ever had because I ve had some pretty awesome Fish & Chips at Chippie shops in Scotland eaten right in newspaper over the years. However, the Watermelon and Feta Salad was the BEST salad I ve had in a very long time. I would highly recommend this place! Check it out for yourself!
Good food good service
Our experience in this pub was amazing! Wine and beer are very good as the food!
We stopped in for dinner and drinks while in town on a weekend vacation. We sat at the bar. The food was good. Drinks were good too. The bartender, I think her name was Arisha, was very personable and attentive. The atmosphere was laidback. We found out later during a ghost walk that the building has a resident ghost but we didn t experience anything out of the ordinary.
I am a tourist from Germany and was here for the first time today. First I went to Niagara Falls and then we came here. It had been a beautiful day. WE CANADA THANKS FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING!!! I LIKE George & Alexander Real Nice Place here
Great place, didnt eat but what came out looked fab. Good range of beers and wines. Service
So disappointed in this restaurant. My family and I were on a day trip to Niagara on-the-lake and decided to stop at Corks for dinner. We don t often go out for dinner so we were looking forward to having a meal together. The staff were very accommodating, helpful, and got us a table fairly quickly. Service was pretty good throughout our time there. The covered patio is very lovely to sit on when the weather is nice. Lots of windows and very bright. We ordered rice balls and garlic bread to start, a Buffalo chicken wrap, Madeira chicken, and two kids meals, chicken fingers and pasta with tomato sauce. The rice balls looked and tasted like the ones you buy frozen at the grocery store, Madeira chicken looked like a hospital meal, I can almost guarantee the chicken breast is frozen (looked like a flat piece of cardboard), the mashed potatoes looked and tasted powdered, and the veggies were carrots and beans that also looked frozen, my buffalo wrap was drenched in sauce and the wrap itself was hard, the chicken fingers (4 very small nuggets) were hard and dry, and the tomato sauce on the pasta was similar to what you would find in a can of chef boyardee. The best thing about the meal was the wine we ordered. For the price we spent on this dinner, I would have expected higher quality meals. I would highly suggest not wasting your money unless you re desperate.
Fish and chips were horrible. Over cooked and very greasy. Staff and atmosphere were great
Good value, especially for NOTL, service was good. Down to earth food, nothing fancy.
Staffs are soooo nice! Food is
We recently dined at Corks with a large group, and despite the warm weather, the staff ensured we had an outstanding night. They were incredibly friendly, always kept a smile, and were proactive in addressing our needs. Their attentiveness and positive attitude made the evening truly memorable. Highly recommended for excellent service and a great atmosphere!
I worked with Agatha and Maria to host a cocktail hour and sit down dinner for 51 delegates. They prepared a special cocktail/bar menu that included martinis, cocktails, spirits, beer and wine to meet our per drink budget. They offered our delegates a pre-printed menu with up to 4 entree selections, salad, dessert. All 4 entrees - salmon, chicken, pasta, veal schnitzel - were delicious and met all our dietary restrictions. Agatha s team of servers was truly amazing. So efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Corks Winebar anytime of the year for any size party!
Big sign advertising the best fish and chips in town, false advertising in my opinion. The batter was pretty good but the cod wasn t fresh and flaky as expected. Parking: Plenty of paid parking on the side streets.
Food and staff were great. We sat in the heated patio area, it was lovely to people watch. I would highly recommend it.
Excellent place to taste ice wines. Immediate and friendly attention.
Had a latte...it was good have eaten there before... Hint hint, give a small cookie and small glass of water when you serve specialty coffees, its like a touch of class. Food : 4/5
Always come back for the fish and chips and calamari. They serve up a good amount at a fair price, perfect for a casual bite. The batter on the fish and chips is awesome, totally nails it. The fish itself isn t mind-blowing, but we still love it. We were really into how they used to serve the calamari as a whole or partial squid, but now they do rings. They re still super fresh though, crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the patio- we were lucky to grab a spot on a Saturday. No reservations so it is first come first get. Place was super busy therefore it lacked in service as I had to ask the waitress a few times for things that didnt come out. I feel like it was understaffed that day (no fault to the waitress as she was trying her best). Food was good. Wished the environment was senior friendly (no railing at the front and very hard for someone to use the bathrooms in the basement if they had trouble with stairs), hence one star off there.
Fish and chips were excellent, venue was ok, very outdated inside, on the patio was better. Service was not great, our server screwed up our order twice. Must be better spots around this beauty of a town no?
- A Very Pleasant Surprise - The plan was to have dinner elsewhere but ended up here. Very glad we did because the service was very nice and so was the food. Their chicken club sandwich and their famous fish and chips are both very good. One of the very few good spots in the neighborhood.
Lexi was so kind and had good attitude
Yummy! Stopped in for a quick lunch and enjoyed the fish and chips (cod) and the cork burger with bacon, great meals, great flavour, and presentation! Wait staff are very friendly and accommodating! We ate on the heated front deck, which is so quaint and cool all at the same time. Always seems to be a lineup on the sidewalk, but seating happens quickly!
Nice patio with not good food
We ordered fish and chips and corks burger When you name a food after the restaurant you would expect something special, But the burger was Just a normal burger with no specific sauce or spice in the patty. The meat in the patty was not ground properly And it tasted like any other burger you would get outside. Same goes with the fish and chips. I think restaurants which are in a tourist attraction area are getting lazy to prepare something special because they are going to have their customers anyway. Kid-friendliness: They dont have anything special for kids.Only one type of dessert, so I dont suggest to take your kids to this place.
Great service, uninspired food. Quickly sat in their front room with no wait and service was great! We were excited for award winning fish and chips, but were incredibly underwhelmed. At roughly $40CAN per person for lunch I have much higher expectations. Their rectangular plates were also annoying as they would not sit flat on the table and rocked each time I would cut a piece of food.
Garlic bread is very top notch. Ranch is awesome, white sauce amazing with the pasta. Carli was the best server, she was sweet, helpful, and fast fast.
Service was slow. Customer service people!
Great food and atmosphere! Would visit again.
My family and I dined here when we spent a day in Niagara on the Lake for Easter. We stayed at a hotel close by and we were recommended to try this amazing restaurant. We had always walked by and never went in. For the first, time on a recommendation we went in. We had no idea what to expect. They werent busy so we got a table right away. My Mom and I split a meal together which was a good idea as to me personally the portions were big. My fiance enjoyed his meal of fish. The atmosphere was relaxing and our server was very attentive and kind. We always wanted to go in and we were glad we did. We are excited to come back and dine again.
The hostess was so kind, as was our waiter! There was no wait for a table and everything was decently priced. We will be returning!
Lovely place very cozy the heated patio was a plus I had the brisket and it was amazing my fiancée had the fish and chips she said it was good the location is fantastic, will definitely return!
Expensive, mediocre service and not much in the way of options. Food was basic in flavour and presentation. Ultimately not worth the visit.
Amazing service!! Great food and drinks!
Great place for lunch. Great salads and burgers. Allowed us to bring our dog to sit down with us. Our waitress was super friendly and always checking on us.
Our dining experience at Corks Wine Bar & Eatery was exceptional ! Visiting with a group of seven, we were all thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and service. The menu offered a diverse selection, and each dish we ordered surpassed our expectations. The Great Canadian Burger was delicious, perfectly cooked with excellent toppings. The Chicken Parmesan was also a hit, with tender chicken smothered in delicious marinara sauce and gooey cheese. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap was a delightful combination of flavors and textures. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was also top-notch. The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of memorable. Overall, Corks Wine Bar & Eatery exceeded our expectations, and we cant wait to return for another delightful meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in the area!
From service to food, extremely underwhelming and awful
Meagan came out in the cold to greet us and encourage us to come in, so nice to see rather than being ignored! Drinks were delicious and the staff friendly. Heated patio a definite bonus, cheers!
This is a hole in the wall, poorly decorated, not appealing to any senses, except the smell of Parmesan over the overpriced basic food, that lures the hungry tourists in. The location is prime, right in the middle of Niagara on the Lake Main Street. It has a porch, that makes it attractive for people watching , otherwise it is not worth your money at all
At first looks I thought this place was gonna be great. Looks can be deceiving! I asked my waitress about the fish and chips and she highly recommended them. I ordered them and surprisingly my food came out in less than 5 minutes after ordering. The waitress said, the chefs were bored . I thought this was strange but ate my food and was let down by the mediocrity. Later on that evening I ended up getting food poisoning from the said fish and chips. The food must have been sitting out and got flash fried, before being given to me. No wonder it was brought out so fast! Eat here if you want the rest of your night to be ruined!!!
Stopped in Saturday night for the fish and chips. Loved the atmosphere and the food. The wait staff was incredibly friendly. Ill definitely be going back to this restaurant. The tartar sauce is homemade.
Food quality has weakened compared to last year, we wanted fish and chips. The fish arrived completely absorbed in oil. Hamburgers are okay. The service and the attention of the staff are very nice,
Food & service were good. Had a draft near front table. Will visit again in another area. Thanks!
Very good service, yummy food, nice environment.
We order the worst fish and chips ever No taste, oily and not cooked Food : 1/5
Nice place good food, had the corks hamburger with fries, my wife had the soup of the day, half bottle of wine, beer corks blonde, dessert and coffee, all for $100 +tip.
The service was great. So was the fish and chips, which was the best fish and chips I ve ever had. But the falafels were terrible. They tasted like pre-made falafels from Farm Boy, and they probably brought them from there.
Waitress brings back change as a $20 bill and change. Not with $5/$10. So, expecting a $20 tip when not one smile? Was not busy and not made to feel welcomed by that waitress. Yep, why we made our own change as $20 tip on a small food order. Really??
We stopped at Corks for lunch over the weekend while checking out Queens Street. Its a cute little wine bar feeling, with a nice bar, restaurant, and front patio. We both got the fish and chips - not too bad. Would definitely stop in again and try the lamb burger next time!
The ambiance and staff are great but the food is not that great. We ordered steak and cheese and chicken wrap. Both I don t recommend again. There was barely any chicken in the wrap and the steak sandwich was so heavy dripping with oil and gravy. If you want to enjoy the patio, just order fish and chips.
Worst hamburger . Crispy fried on the outside and raw meat on the inside. Posted sign said due to pandemic we are short on staff so pls appreciate the ones that showed up. I did not return my overpriced food. This place use to be good . What happened. Wont be back.
Ok place for a casual meal. Really nothing special. Good value, good service.
Nice restaurant with lovely terrace, we had fish and chips, and steak, fries are so good, all perfect!
Had an amazing time!
Great service by Alisha.
Very nice place, good food, good service. Highly recommended.
Fresh, and tasty. Great customer service as well. My husband and I both got the pork schnitzel and it was beyond delicious. The mushroom gravy was so flavorful and creamy. The spring rolls had a great crunch to them, and were a great start to our meal
Wonderful time out!
We were a party if three. My friends wife had the salmon, and he and I both ordered the pork schnitzel. Service was friendly, prompt, but never intrusive. All meals were well prepared, nicely presented, and delicious. Total bill was around $100CAD with tip for the three of us. Recommended.
Food made & presented with loving care. Edward gave excellent and knowledgeable service. He even helped with parking problem and my mobility issues in a caring and professional manner. We dont give reviews as a rule but this deserves a massive positive one. Highly recommended.
Good food, pleasant staff. great service.
The fish and chips were fantastic. A flight of wine does a good job washing it all down, as well.
Ordered cauliflowers and glazed salmon. The cauliflowers were tasting horribly tangy and the salmon was not even glazed, the rice was heavily undercooked and all that for 90 dollars. This might be good if you enjoy overpriced common white people food. Definitely won t be going back.
Editing this review based on the response below. it is mentioned that the server was were waiting 10 minutes to come talk to us. We weren t offered water or drinks. We waited for longer than 10 minutes. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere.
We were drawn in by the sign that says Voted #1 Fish and Chips . However, the fish and chips were a total let down. The fish were not fresh but tasted more like from the frozen box, which you will expect otherwise especially when they charge their customers at $25/order. My grandson had the Corks Lamburger, which he left half of the burger meat uneaten (look at the photo and you will know why). The only good part was the service and the mussels. But you don t go to a restaurant for the service alone nor the hit and miss .
Great food, drinks, and service. If youre visiting Niagara on the Lake, make this a place you stop by!
Roast beef sandwich was a little tough to bite into.. taste was ok Experience with staff Good Wheelchair accessibility: Hard to get near
Nice, healthy lunch. We enjoyed the patio
During our recent visit, we had the pleasure of trying fish n chips, pasta, and a falafel wrap at the restaurant in question. While we greatly appreciated the lovely ambiance and attentive service, we were slightly disappointed by the quality of the food. The fish n chips, although decently presented, did not quite live up to our expectations, especially considering its relatively high price. We have had better fish n chips elsewhere for half the cost. Similarly, the falafel wrap lacked the desired flavors and failed to impress our taste buds. As a result, we have reservations about choosing this establishment as our first choice when we visit the city in the future. We believe that with some improvements in the culinary department, the restaurant could enhance its reputation and cater better to customers seeking flavorful dishes.
Must go place for all foodies. Loved the crab cakes, garlic bread and the arancini balls. The maple glazed Salmon and goat cheese chicken penne were just sublime!!
The food was amazing. Loved the ambiance. I just hope there were more vegetarian options. But the customisation for the Goat Cheese Penne to be vegetarian was amazing. I hope you make it a permanent dish.
Super disappointed in our experience here. I took my fiancé for lunch and it was subpar at best. The food was very expensive for the quality and the service was bad. We actually ended up not eating one of the dishes we ordered but couldn t do anything due to lack of service.
Truly a big disappointment! If I was the proprietor of this place I would have been ashamed of the meals that were serveds to us today. Tuesday July 18, 2023 We arrived for lunch at 2:00 expecting the same quality of fare we have enjoyed on previous trips to NOTL. The food was barely eatible. The Yager Schnitzel was two little pieces 1/8 thin about the size of my palm and I have small hands. The gravy had already separated and the mushrooms were cold. The roasted potatoes looked and tasted like last nights leftovers and the arugula salad really should have been deposed of with the trash. The Maple Glazed Salmon looked and tasted like M&Ms frozen. Minus the maple. I believe it was to come on a bed of rice. No taste just white rice My meal was to be accompanied with a garden salad. I got a Greek Salad with feta and olives. ( with maple glaze salmon) I did not ask for a greek salad! The whole experience was an $80.00 plus tip Disaster and not what I was hoping for our anniversary trip to NOTL. We will definitely not be back! .
They have an outdoor patio that looks very nice, and the atmosphere inside is very nice. I ordered the fish and chips, and the order came fairly quick. Two small fish with two small cups of tarter sauce and a lemon. These were paired with a lot of fries (or chips depending on where you live) gave my meal an 9/10. Just wish I could finish it. Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair accessible.
I ordered fish and chips. Didn t mind paying $22.00 for the meal But It was an embarrassment to be served one tiny little piece of fish and fries. On top of that it was very dry. I dined at this restaurant before and it was so so with a pricy menu. I was so disappointed this time. I will never go back and I will not recommend it.
Great food, and atmosphere.
The fish and chips was very good...not sure it was best ever as in voted number 1.
The service was good. On the other hand, the food lacked taste and was very oily. The salad contained a lot of leaves which were no longer good. Meal at $150 for 2 adults and 2 children, without wine.
We ordered fish and chips and wrap. The fish was over fried.
Good food with excellent service. Gets busy in the summer. Had the Falafel Wrap which was great.
Tried some local wines they were lovely as well as the food
Stopped at Corks for lunch & it was really good. The food was fresh & hot. Located in Niagara on The Lake and the staff was friendly!
Loved the outdoor covered seating. Was greeted by a friendly hostess and seated quickly. Food was on the pricey side BUT comparable to other eateries in the area. The Canadian burger was probably the best burger Ive had in years! Falafel wrap was labelled flavorful and the fish & chips was better than good.
Such a fun and classy cool restaurant with delicious fish n chips and friendly service! We came to Niagara Falls for the week but our favorite part of the trip was this gorgeous Victorian era town Niagara-on-the-lake to dine, shop, and swim!
Awesome place. We came in 2 families. (10) we had an awesome service. The food is good ans family friendly with a kids menu. Highly recommend ! Cheers
I really have no opinion. I did not go to this restaurant. Google maps claims I did because I happened to park on the street in front of this business. It looks like a nice place though!
Visited twice while in Niagara on the Lake. Excellent food and service. Parking: Parking in general in the town is challenging. We rented a home two blocks from Queen Street. Every day there were cars parked in front of the rental. Food : 5/5 |
It was a pleasure to visit Corks Wine Bar & Eatery during our trip to NOTL last week. To be objective, we were looking for a casual restaurant, with covered porch seating to keep us dry (during the torrential rain storm we were experiencing). Corks met our requirements, and exceeded our expectations regarding our dinners. The availability of a selection of local wines was a plus. One of the dinners we ordered was a Chicken Caesar Wrap. The wrap had a freshness to it that was greatly appreciated. It was flavorful and had a generous portion size. The other dinner was a Falafel wrap, which was equally delicious and sizeable. Our server (Kat) was very efficient and seemed to truly care about our satisfaction. All-in-all, this was a very good experience.
The porch seating atmosphere and views were pleasant. The waitress had great recommendations for wine and food. And the crabcakes were to die for with a spectacular presentation!
Great place to eat!! Food was fantastic. Service was great
A fabulous restaurant. They had a great menu of the day, on a fabulous terrace and with friendly and friendly service.
Management recently changed the food menu here and we were not impressed. Had planned on having dinner here as we had our wedding dinner here a couple years prior sadly we just had a glass of wine and an appi then left as the menu has turned to basically a burger joint. Not what you d expect from a restaurant aptly named for the surrounding area.
Overpriced ordinary food delivered by impatient waiter.
During our last visit we all tried the salmon served with salad and rice . We were not impressed at all, and having a seat in the back of restaurant you feel like 2nd class citizen, very cold and dungy. Finally, washrooms equal Cuban standard.
My experience at Corks Wine Bar & Eatery can be aptly described as underwhelming. Everything, from the food to the ambiance and service, screamed mediocre. For a family restaurant, one would anticipate something unique a special touch in the menu, an innovative approach to food preparation, or at least a dish that distinguishes it from the countless other eateries in the vicinity. Sadly, Corks failed to deliver on any of these fronts. Their menu is astonishingly reminiscent of every other restaurant in the area. In an era where dining out is as much about the experience as it is about the food, its disappointing to see an establishment merely mimic its competitors. True, its easier to tread the beaten path, but restaurants should aim to stand out and offer something fresh to their patrons. To further elaborate on the lack of authenticity, the Crab cake we ordered was a true letdown. Instead of basking in the lushness of real crab meat, we were met with the unmistakable taste of crab stick or surimi. Dissecting the cake, our suspicions were confirmed by the sight of elongated parts, eerily akin to crab sticks. A genuine crab cake should boast of the rich, delicate texture of real crab meat, lightly held together with breadcrumbs and seasoned to perfection. The use of surimi, a cheaper alternative, not only compromises the taste but also detracts from what should be an upscale dishs genuine value. In conclusion, Corks Wine Bar & Eatery, in its pursuit to play it safe, unfortunately, falls into the pit of monotony. Theyve missed an opportunity to shine, to offer something special, and most importantly, to serve authentic dishes. I hope they reflect upon such feedback and work towards creating a more unique and genuine dining experience. ADDED. Thank you for your response. Its genuinely disheartening to see businesses leaning on past challenges as a constant justification for current shortcomings. The repercussions of the pandemic were indeed profound, but its crucial to move forward and adapt, especially when located in a prime spot that benefits from both foot traffic and digital visibility. The fact that you feature prominently on search engines like Google underscores the responsibility you have towards maintaining quality and authenticity. Such a position isnt just about attracting customers but more crucially about ensuring they receive an experience worthy of the reputation that precedes you. When seasoned establishments dont deliver on this, its not just disappointing for the patrons, but it also inadvertently hampers budding businesses that are going the extra mile to establish their mark. Lastly, authenticity is the cornerstone of any culinary experience. Cutting corners, particularly on staple dishes like crab cakes, isnt just about saving costs it undermines the very essence of the dish and the trust your patrons place in you. I genuinely hope my feedback is seen in the light of constructive criticism, driving positive change and elevating the dining experience for all your future patrons.
Ate here twice while visiting. Good food and service.
Absolutely wonderful lunch! Ordered the goat cheese bruschetta and a Greek salad. The portions are large and special thank you to our server who suggested we could probably share the salad. We did and there were still leftovers.
great place to eat, delicious food.
Good food!
Sat 16 Sept 2023 Took some visitors to Canada for a NOL experience.. We happened upon Corks and decided to have lunch We were greeted by the wonderfully elegant and poised and professional Rebecca whose smile and perfect service won is over. So Rebecca gets a 5 /5 The floor manager AGATHA.. Dressed in a black suit and a bright yellow shirt My guest asked her for the WiFi password and to my horror.... She snapped at him... WiFi is not for customers its only to connect our computer....and continued on without waiting for any response from my guest... Woooah... Totally in appropriate response and her manner was out of order... For the hour we were there I did not see that lady smile once. She has a stone cold expression.... Very rehearsed and robotic... And unapproachable .... Just unfortunate that she is the example for the younger folks who work under her supervision... Agatha gets ZERO........0/5 The food was good. Crab cakes were great Caesar Salad nice and fresh and delicious Soup of the day delicious Fish and chips... Sadly... I dont know what the hype is about.... Greasy and not well seasoned Food gets 4/5.... Thanks for your time
We ordered takeout instead because we learned they are in fact not dog friendly (unlike mentioned in other review(s); only service dogs are permitted on their patio ;(
This is one of our favorite places to go whenever were in Niagara on the Lake.
Lovely place to go for food and very reasonable.
100% recommend the chicken parmesan pasta and their fish and chips
Surprised that many area restaurants had such a limited menu, and they all offered similar fare. Perhaps it is because we visited in the off season, but because the Shaw festival was still running and drawing customers, I was expecting more variety.
Honest Opinion. Our food came very fast . Like Star Trek replicator . Fish & chips not worth it . They Only and ONLY give one PIECE fish. Small piece. With 1000000 fires . Me no come here again not worth it. Spend your 25buck elsewhere worthy . Corks . Haahahaa frozen burger . Raw inside and kinda burnt outside . I wouldnt go for that very on the dry side .
Really very nice waiter, we ate well.
We were lured in by hunger and a sign that said Voted #1 fish and chips. We were greeted by a server who obviously loves her job. She seated us in the patio area and treated us wonderfully. Kudos to the staff! The fish and chips, well, they were ok. And, could have used more fish for the price. But not the best Ive had in NOTL.
Excellent
Great place, great service, great food.
A nice restaurant by the clock tower. Came here with my mother for lunch. Got myself a lamb burger and it was juicy and delicious. Overall it is a pleasant place and the staff is friendly. Food : 5/5 |
I especially recommend fish and chips
First time eating here and will be my last, voted best fish and chips by who exactly ? Mom got sick from it , I had a burger that said house made on the menu , it was a frozen patty they bought from Costco , you can literally pick it up after it was cooked and it wouldn t fall apart or break , disgusting processed meat sold in this restaurant . Staff was friendly which was the only upside to this place. Def don t go if you are looking to eat there
We stopped for a cocktail and an appetizer and were told that there is bartender and a full bar. Food was good, cocktails were sent back - diluted, and just too off balance. They certainly need a new bartender. Service was OK, there was some confusion between waiters and it seemed one just abandoned our table. There was a customer loudly speaking on the phone next to our table, nothing was done about it, we just moved. Dont recommend at all.
Great experience. We sat on the patio where a heat kept us warm. We had hot cocoa and shared a warm apple crumble. It was wonderful.
3.5 Took a while for the bartender to ask for our drink order and we were sitting at the bar and it wasnt too busy. However she was knowledgeable and definitely does a good job trying to upsell. Didnt try any food. The atmosphere is standard! Would go back again.
Their fish and chips are rated the best in town. Check out their daily specials. I also recommend the icewine shooters.
Was expecting so much more.. the server (Mitch) didn t even check on our table while we were eating, felt like it was a chore to him, and without asking he handed the bill to my partner when I wanted to pay. Food was meh. Was expecting good service from what we heard about town. Will absolutely never eat here again. 1/10. Mitch - try harder for those tips.
Fish and chips were far too oily and greasy. Sign says #1 rated for fish and chips, not true, and yet very expensive. Heated patio was nice.
