Terroir La Cachette, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, is a dining destination that beautifully combines French-inspired cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. Situated at Strewn Winery, the restaurant offers an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere, making it a perfect complement to the surrounding wine region. Chef Alain Levesque crafts dishes that focus on seasonal produce, fresh herbs, and regional specialties, emphasizing a farm-to-table philosophy. Guests frequently rave about the thoughtfully curated menu, which features fresh seafood, tender meats, and creative vegetarian options, all designed to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients. The wine pairings, carefully selected from Strewn Winery’s own collection, elevate the dining experience and provide a seamless integration between food and wine. The ambiance at Terroir La Cachette is cozy and inviting, with large windows offering views of the vineyard, making it an ideal setting for romantic dinners or special occasions. Many visitors praise the attentive service and the knowledgeable staff, who provide insights into both the dishes and wine selections. While some diners may find the prices on the higher side, the quality of the food and the overall experience are widely regarded as worth it. Terroir La Cachette offers a refined yet approachable dining experience in the heart of Ontario wine country.

Terroir restaurant located at Strewn Winery on Lakeshore Rd in Niagara-on-the-Lake is a hidden gem. They have a beautiful dining room, but we chose to eat on the covered patio to enjoy the lush outdoor scenery. The food was delicious, I especially enjoyed the scallops and foie gras. The seafood pasta and tuna dishes were flavourful and good portions. Both the Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay wine we had were excellent. The service was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. They also have a cooking school on site, which I hope to experience one day.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Terroir Restaurant (Strewn Winery) on Friday evening. Our server Kafil was incredibly attentive to all of our needs. He took a great deal of time to explain the appetizers and mains, as well as the dinner features. He was extremely helpful in providing wine recommendations to pair with our appetizers and main courses. We started with the scallops and oysters which were both outstanding. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and my dining partner sopped up every bit of the delicious cream sauce from the scallops with the homemade bread. For our mains we enjoyed the seafood pasta and the rack of lamb, which was the chef's special. The lamb was the best I have ever had and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The Strewn Chardonnay that accompanied our meal was quickly and easily polished off. For dessert we shared a wonderfully refreshing berry gelato. The entire evening was perfect from beginning to end. We will definitely be returning in the future and I would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

Our waitress Paula was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the wines. The food was savoury, delicious and paired beautifully with the wine. Two thumbs up!!

My family were relieved to enjoy Terroir as much or even more than the previous restaurant at Strewn (this new incarnation is being run by the winery for the first time, the previous restaurants being renters). Our server Kafil was awesome. All of our special requests were fulfilled. And the food was uniformly great. It's definitely still early days at this new restaurant (desserts -- both great -- from Willow Bakery), but it's heartening to see that the people running Strewn Winery are committed to maintaining its place as a culinary destination in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Terroir, and it was an exceptional experience. The steak was outstanding, and the oysters we shared were among the best I've had in ages. Our server was incredibly friendly, and we even had a nice chat with the owner. The interior decor was elegant, and the patio offered a stunning view of the ravine. Whether you're planning a casual date or an upscale dinner, I highly recommend Terroir.

Kafil not only provided us with very personable service, but he also made us laugh. I had the trout which was delicious and some of my girlfriends said the burger was the best they ever tasted. We met Jane the owner, who was just lovely and we will all be back.

We highly recommend the Terroir restaurant & wine bar at Strewn Winery. We stopped by for lunch yesterday and the experience was amazing from the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the time we left. I had the AAA Canadian Hamburger with a salad and my wife had the Shrimp & Melon Salad. Both entrees were delectable and portion sizes were very good. The wines offered are reasonably priced and they have a vast selection of premium wines. Can’t wait to return to try the dinner menu.

Quiet place, not too many tables. It is located in a winery. Food was excellent and the service top notch. Even when the place filled, it was still intimate. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, no ramps or bumps. Good access.

We really enjoyed our evening at Terroir . Both our starters and mains were delicious, well prepared and presented! Our friendly waiter, Kafil, provided us great service. We especially appreciated Kafil s attention to detail with respect to a food intolerance and a severe food allergy (passed on to the chef) and that made our evening very comfortable. We also enjoyed meeting Jane (facilitated by Kafil).

We stumbled on Terroir as we were driving down Lakeshore. We pulled open the menu and it looked good so we gave it a whirl. We are so glad that we did! Absolutely everything was delicious and the view from the terrace was so picturesque. Kafil was an amazing server. We come to NOTL at least once a year and we enjoy all of the fine dining experiences available. Terroir will definitely remain in our rotation when we come back!

On our last night after a week in Niagara on the Lake we went to terroir to celebrate my birthday. We were four adults and two children, so we got to enjoy a wide range of appetizers and main courses. We sat on the very comfortable outdoor terrace and reserved by Kafil, who was very, very efficient and very friendly. It is well worth the short drive from Queen Street to have such a lovely, unhurried, and welcoming atmosphere. Parking: Lots of spaces. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs or other obstructions and the doorways are wide.

We dined at Terroir Restaurant and Wine Bar located at Strewn Winery yesterday during our family getaway to Niagara on The Lake. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. There were gluten free and vegetarian options available on the menu which was important to us, as two members of our party have celiac disease and another is a vegetarian. The staff took great care to make sure our dietary restrictions were looked after. All six of us enjoyed our appetizer, a creamy butternut squash soup and our main courses which included the Moscovy Duck Breast, Chicken Supreme, Grilled Maple Glazed Tofu Chop, and the Atlantic Salmon. Thank you to Paula and Kafil for making our evening at Terroir so enjoyable! Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free and Vegetarian Options

(Camm Royal) Terroir, once a go-to spot for delicious and flavorful food, has undergone significant changes with a new name, new ownership, and a new chef. They claim to have an even better chef now, with tastier dishes, but unfortunately, my recent experience left much to be desired. The menu is limited, with far fewer options than before. We waited quite a while for the main course, and while the soup was flavorful, the burger was disappointing dry, lacking in juiciness, and served with plain chips, which felt like a lazy pairing. It was more like eating chips out of a bag than enjoying a proper side dish. My colleagues salmon was also underwhelming. The bar, which once boasted a charming setup with a traditional Italian coffee machine, has been downgraded, and the souvenir shop is noticeably empty, missing items like their signature balsamic vinegar. Overall, instead of being an upgrade, the changes at Terroir (Camm Royal) feel like a downgrade. I hope they make improvements, but for now, its a far cry from the restaurant I used to love.

Wine is absolutely 5 stars! Best in NOTL! However, the restaurant, were hoping will work out some kinks. The food is mostly amazing, however, if a server is shaking their head no indicating not to order the only vegan dinner on the menu, they should be telling the chef that the dinner needs help and the chef should be listening to make the improvement. And I agree, the vegan dinner could use some excitement (such as red peppers, zoodles). Tofu and quinoa in the same meal is bizarre - one or the other would be better with more veggies. However, at least they have a vegan option! Also, hoping they better estimate food orders too - we ordered 5 dinners and 2 of the 5 were out. We ordered 2 soups which were also out. Service was friendly and nice but not that attentive i.e. if we would have seen them after the 5 of us finished the first bottle of wine which is pretty quick, we would have ordered a 2nd but we didnt see them until near the end of our meal. Overall, Id say give them a try!

First time visiting Strewn winery but definitely not the last. Enjoyed a fabulous dinner on the patio with my family at Terrior. Our server, Kafil, was personable, knowledgeable and a general delight. I highly recommend scallops and duck starters. We ordered a mix of entrees and they were all amazing with good portion sizes. Not a bad choice on the menu. I would absolutely recommend stopping by when you are in the area.

We highly recommend the new restaurant, Terroir, at Strewn Winery! It is just about 3 Km west of NOTL along Lakeshore Rd. Terroir Restaurant and Wine Bar has a delightful patio for a scrumptious lunch or dinner and a nice dining room. On the outside patio, the chirping birds, cooling breeze and abundant roses near the vineyard and woods make for a wonderful ambiance. The Strewn, 2022 Chardonay, Barrel Fermented, is great, with an amazing oak flavour. For dinner I had the most delectable Shore Dinner , pan fried pickerel, by Chef Matt. Another day for lunch, we had the Blanco Pizza (with grilled asparagus, spring peas turnip, shallots, cream goat camembert), to die for! My partner had a Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwich (with tasty, glazed ham), which was excellent! The service for dining was excellent, from the Matre d , Karil, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The outside chairs are superb for back support as are the inside chairs. Perfect for a gardener that needs a break from the endless weeds. The wines offered at Strewn are reasonably priced, (including in the restaurant). Juan, at the Tasting Bar, is very knowledgeable, informative and provides a very enjoyable experience. There is also a separate outside covered wine tasting patio, overlooking the lush vineyard and woods. Additionally, Strewn has a very nice small conference center with a kitchen, and comfortable living room space, including relaxing accommodation for a few guests. Vegetarian options: Available

My husband and I had dinner on the patio recently and it was a lovely experience. Paula, our server, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable re the food and wine. We had two outstanding meals the grilled tofu chop and the pasta with pea pesto. The food was fresh and wonderfully prepared. If you are in the area, we highly recommend this dining gem at Strewn winery.

Waiter seemed to be too busy. Did not tell us there was no pickerel, brought trout instead, without advising. Still charged for it and did not ask if my friend wanted anything else instead. Flat water is $10/ bottle, ask for tap water. He did not know how to divide a bill in half for payment!! Few things on menu not available .. I suggest make a new menu each day to advise what is available as waiter does not advise! Find another restaurant!

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant like I never expected to have in Niagara wine county. We ordered the warm truffle chips with lemon aioli and the classic pizza. They were out of the truffle aioli - that should have tipped me they were not made fresh, in house, as one would expect. The chips were not warm, slightly stale, clearly from a bag, and the lemon aioli came was yellow in the top, probably because it sat around while. The pizza, although thin crust, was not fully baked, the edges were white not golden brown. The toppings were a few raw-ish bits of red pepper, 5 teaspoons of sausage meat, 1/2 of asparagus spear, chopped, and a few dice of onion, nearly raw. This was unfortunately the last time we will visit this establishment. We will stick with the wines, which is what Strewn do best.

We very much enjoyed an alfresco fathers day lunch on the Terroir patio. Friendly service, excellent food and of course the Strewnwine selection all were beyond expectations! Oysters were fresh and plump. Charcuterie hit the mark and the gourmet burger was a favorite. Highly recommend this Niagara gem.

We enjoyed the charcuterie, for lunch, on the beautiful patio and would like to recommend Terroir highly. The staff added much to the experience. Jane made us feel welcome, the moment we arrived, and Kafil was fun and knowledgeable as he provided amazing food/wine pairing advice. The skill of the chef was very evident in his food presentation, as well as the preparation. This was a wonderful experience for all the senses and we will be returning to Terroir Restaurant on our next visit to Niagara-On-The-Lake.
