Last night was the most disappointing dining experience I've ever had. First I'd like to clarify, the service staff and atmosphere are great- 5 star. The FOOD was unbelievably sub-par. I can't believe I paid over $100 (1 main course and 1 dessert after a 20% tip) for ingredients that tasted like they cost the establishment no more than $6. I and 3 of my family members had their "Artic Char". It was tiny, flavorless, likely cooked from frozen and covered in a sauce and garnish that were mediocre at best. We were all disappointed with it. My sister-in-law had their beef tenderloin- mediocre. Appetizers and desserts - also mediocre. Their Cornish Hen was the only half-decent dish according to a family member. All I have to say is it's clear the restaurant is skimping on the quality of its ingredients for its bottom line. I understand inflation is making things difficult for restaurants, but compared to the quality you can expect at other comparably-priced restaurants this was unacceptable.
Ate at Tiara Restaurant for the 3rd time on Saturday Sept 14. The atmosphere is awesome on the outdoor patio; you can see the water and America off in the distance. I had the Fish Taco's which were perfect for lunch, other guests at my table had the cheeseburger and Cobb Salad; we had no complaints.
Excellent breakfast buffet, beautiful views of the harbour and river, plus cheerful service? 5 stars. Low carb/keto/Paleo options include smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and ham. Buffet has scrambled eggs, but kitchen was happy to make perfect poached eggs. Kudos for that. Tip: people gravitate to the tables near the bay window. These tables get a lot of morning sun. For cooler seats with equally great views, ask for a spot near the upper dining area windows. Everyone was so good natured that it made the whole experience more enjoyable. Highly recommend.
We had celebrated a special occasion at Tiara hoping that it would be a memorable experience for us. We chose to dine alfresco and loved the overall ambiance of the place. No complaints about the service and presentation either.. However, both the quality and the taste of the food was blah. One would expect better quality food considering the price of the items.
Located in the majestic Queen's Landing hotel, Tiara Restaurant is fit for royalty. We visited on a Monday evening, so there wasn't much of a crowd. This was perfect as we were seated closer to the large windows where we could take in the natural beauty of the lakefront and the boats that were docked. Our server was very helpful at providing his recommendations off the menu. Since we were staying at the hotel, we had a package that included a 3-course dinner. As I like to try different beers, there was a good selection of local beers from NOTL to try in a beer flight (4 oz x 4 beers). The appetizers were plated very well and tasted just as good as they looked. The PEI mussels were delicious, sizable and whet our appetites. The sous vide pork belly was tender and another beautifully presented appetizer. My only suggestion is that warm bread and a spreadable be served at the table since there was a slight wait before the appetizers came out. The beef striploin was cooked perfectly to my liking and the locally sourced veggies were a nice accompaniment. The shrimp linguine was another fantastic entree option as the shrimps were large, the pasta was cooked perfectly and there was some flavourful chili heat that elevated the dish. As good as the appetizers and main courses are, make sure to leave some room for dessert. Based on our server's recommendation, we tried the Bananas Foster Cream Pie and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse. With New Orleans origins, the original Bananas Foster is a quintessential dessert that must be tried in its authentic form. However, the Bananas Foster Cream Pie pays homage to a classic and holds its own as a terrific and tasty crossover. For any chocolate and peanut butter lovers, the CPB mousse is simply otherworldly. If you went to the Tiara Restaurant just for that dessert, it wouldn't be a wasted trip. In all, our experience at Tiara Restaurant was a 5-star experience and although it is a pricey option in NOTL, it's great way to memorialize a birthday, anniversary or special occasion and to treat yourself like royalty.
Absolutely 5* service with every menu item you can dream of. Kali was a wonderful server with just the right attention to our table that we needed. Quick with drinks and cleaning of plates. Very pleasant experience ☺️ and the wonderful, handsome George on duty as manager this Sunday was assisting in seating guests over looking service and too ensured all went pleasant. We were happily surprised our experience was more than what we expected!! We will be back. Oh, the food was outstanding.
Folks, this restaurant is aces! The food takes a basic item like steak and makes it a masterpiece, introducing flavors you would never associate with the dish. It doesn't end with the apps and main. The desert was incredible, I highly recommend the banana cream pie and creme brulee. Absolutely had no business tasting that good. Service was also top notch, being attentive, entertaining and informative (everything we chose was based on our servers recommendations and he was 100% right about everything).
Was treated to an unbelievable dining experience! The food was prepared almost flawlessly, full of flavour and presented in a very artistic and appetizing way. The service was beyond exceptional, attentive and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was nostalgic, romantic and warm. I can't say enough about how much of incredible experience this was and I would absolutely classify this as a destination place to go.
With the favorable exchange rate its a great deal for fine cuisine
The breakfast buffet at the Tiara (Oct. 16, 2024) was strangely not up to the Vintage Hotel Standards. The cheese/charcuterie choices consisted of one item each. There was no omelette station. The orange juice had fruit flies in it. The French toast was salty, soggy and overheated. The syrup was crystallized and therefore not tasty. The smoked salmon was not eatable or even recognizable. I could go on I would suggest to pick a different restaurant for breakfast. The service and ambiance were, however, great.
Our first time here and the experience was hit & miss. We arrived at 6pm on a Thursday and the restaurant wasnt too crowded. The ambiance was nice and we had a good window view of the river. Hats off to our server Andrea who was attentive ... made us feel welcomed. The food was presented nicely but wasnt great. My wifes chowder didnt have a lot of white fish in it and only two tiny pieces of potato. Her main course (Saffron Linguini w/Lobster) certainly had a large amount of pasta - maybe just a tad too much. While the seafood was plentiful, the sauce was a bit bitter from the white wine added which kinda ruined the dish. I started with a Caesar salad which was ok and for main had the Steak & Potato ... the 6oz tenderloin was nice. For dessert we ordered the Lemon Blueberry Torte. The actual torte consisted of a large amount of shredded coconut (which my wife doesnt like) with tiny blobs of curd & gel. There was a scoop of coconut sorbet and a few blueberries. It wasnt quite what we had expected. We were hoping for a slightly better experience for the prices paid.
Ate here first night of our week day visit to attend the theater. Our meals were so good we came back the second night. Quiet, easy to converse. Thats rare anymore. Food was all of the highest quality. Get the lemon blueberry tart for dessert. You wont regret it. We will be back again
We had a wonderful brunch at Tiara. The patio and view are beautiful. We were on our mini-moon after our wedding and the staff were so kind in congratulating us. The Benedict was very tasty! And so were the mimosas! Special thanks to our server, Gerardo, for taking such good care of us. Can t wait to go back for our 1st anniversary!
Stopped in for lunch before attending the Shaw Festival. They accommodated our time line and offered a free shuttle to the theatre.
We had a great evening at the Tiara Restaurant. Our server Lucas was the best. Not only did he have great recommendations but he never made us feel rushed throughout our meal. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
Very freindly staff and great brunch. Bathrooms could use more attention in the future
Delicious dinner in Tiara yesterday, Rudy very professional and friendly.
Excellent service and great water views!
The best in dining experiences. Ive been taking my family to Tiara restaurant for years. The brunch is a large spread of perfectly prepared delight. Fresh omelets, beef & pork roast, seafood bar, desert platters, hot and cold all you can eat buffet! The service is top-notch in trained, well-mannered, proper etiquette, servers who take the time to get to know you. Shout out to Gerrard and Arthur! The value is absolutely worth it, as the cost is much higher than your local greasy spoon. My wife, our three kids, and I are paying over $200. However, the atmosphere is calm, comfortable, and fresh. The food is rich and luxurious, and the staff work together as a team to serve your every need.
Service was misleading and they screwed up and served alcohol to a pregnant woman sitting in my table, which especifically told the waiter that she would drink a mocktel because she was pregnant.
Smoked salmon and steak very delicious friendly
A very delicious breakfast location, a favourite and classic in town! All of Vintage Hotels is the best go-to spots for any meal
BEST place in the region to get brunch. SUPER affordable and the quality is unspeakable! Love this place!
Its a restaurant inside a hotel. The location is really nice next to the dock at Niagara on the lake. It was a little formal so I wasnt sure if it was kids friendly. However it was and my kids had a good time. But the restaurant was empty. Maybe it was the time of the day. The food quality was good. My only issue was the menu was very limited. It could be a good thing because then the quality of the food is better but if you are vegetarian there was only 1-2 things you could eat. But overall it was good.
Great view and fantastic food for lunch! The deviled egg appetizer is delicious. The steak frites was cooked perfectly and seasoned well.
Ok it was a Monday, so the chef took the night off. We love our food and 20th anniversary booked a meal at what was touted as a great restaurant. Sent the appetizer back, over cooked pork belly. Up charged For the striploin and a tenderloin withpommes puree hard. Best thing about those meals were the forest mushrooms and Brussel sprouts. Both steaks over done when asked for medium rare on the rare side Waiter reached across my husband to fill water glasses three times when he had two options to not. Frozen desserts topped off a four $$$$ meal. Really bad experience. Go to NOTL so much better food night and day.
Tiara is a wonderful restaurant. The service is excellent. The food is delicious. The portions are a little on the small side for the price. But the quality and flavors are excellent. The desserts are fabulous. Its a pretty restaurant with a great ambience. Vegetarian options: Mushroom gnocchi - yum!
Had the worst cappuccino coffee ever. No wifi in the restaurant. Waisted $15
Delicious pork chops nice view of the harbor
Amazing. Delicious food. Excellent service.
Great place for Sunday brunch. Everything is made at the restaurant. Plenty of selection for everyone.
We visited for a birthday lunch and they were very accommodating for a large group. Food was great and the service was excellent. Thank you Gerardo for the wonderful brunch
Awesome atmosphere, great food and ex Ellen s service. We stopped on this little town on our way to Toronto and found this hidden gem, and glad we did!!!
food was good service was good but the restaurant smelt like toilet water and that just set off the vibe while I was eating
We had the buffet breakfast and it was delicious with lots of variety. Gerry was super and quickly became my 3 year old s best friend with an invite to dinner at our place! Great service and food - can t go wrong. We ll be back for the weekend brunch soon.
We ordered the Swedish Benedict each which definitely hit the spot for breakfast. However for $14 my caesar was underwhelming for the price I paid. Gerardo provided us with enjoyable conversation and a fine dining touch. He took very good care of my mother and I. A window table will give you the best view no matter the season.
Visited here multiple times years ago. It s definitely an elegant place to have Sunday brunch buffet with family. Various food stations piles up with varieties of brunch items. Fresh omelets and crepes cooked to your preference. Nice view outside if you get a window seat.
good food and service,
2 nights 2 dinners here. First was not so great but the second meals were outstanding. Lucas provided great service.
Excellent meal. Delicious French onion soup. Lamb and vegetables. Spiced carrot cake. Our waiter Lucas was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Fantastic!
I really love this hotel, but I also really love this restaurant. Ive been here a few times for brunch. The food is always delicious, great variety of dishes, extremely caring waiters and chef. And there is always the opportunity to taste local wine from world-famous wineries
Last Sunday I invited a couple of significant guests to Queen s Landing Tiara Restaurant having Sunday brunch. However, I was extremely disappointed because the smoked salmon was not fresh and smelly, the fish color was not right, which was partial black. The server was notified. The server stated: I am a server, unable to do anything except informing the manager . Unfortunately, the manager pretended that he did not know the matter, so no further action was taken. However, the server offered great customer service. But, I still could not believe that such a big name hotel and restaurant offer such poor quality and unfresh fish. It was a poor experience. I am not sure how I can go back or recommend my friends or family to go. Dietary restrictions: unfresh fish
Very nice, vintage setting. Nice ambiance. The service was pretty good. The food however was a bit underwhelming. Especially for the price point. Its quite expensive and the flavours and combinations are a bit disappointing. (Dinner menu) Portion sizes are average.
Great meal, nice place. The server however, Rose, was absolutely lovely and made the night exceptional!
Beautiful restaurant located in the Queens Landing Hotel. The staff was very professional, and made us feel at home during our recent staycation. The service provided by Andrea was A+!! The food was delicious! We loved everything and had zero complaints!! Great job Tiara restaurant!!
Was here for a la carte breakfast. Hollandaise sauce wasn t great. Fries were very greasy spoon type. Food was about a 3/5. Ambiance, service and view was 5/5.
The restaurant is beautiful and the food was very delicious!
Beautiful dining room with river views. Quality food. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from restaurant parking lot. Food : 4/5 |
We love this restaurant but last time we were there the food was not up to their usual standards. Both the salmon and beef were dry and hard. The appetizers were delicious, however.
The food was outstanding and the service was amazing.
The place is beautiful, the food very delicious, the best thing, our waiter Arthur, made our stay special. Thanks to Arik who makes the service impeccable
I am very pleased with service and food and just book our wedding anniversary celebration with Tiara restaurant..
Very good food
The duck was amazing. Very well cooked and seasoned. And the seafood and pork belly starters were equally delicious.
Beautiful dining room with views of Lake Ontario . Friendly and efficient service. A little pricey but par for this tourist area. Food is average.Quite a large selection of wines and liquor .
Lovely spot for a special birthday dinner with family. Fancy but friendly. Staff were helpful and accommodating.
To celebrate my wife s 50th birthday, I took her to Tiara, just a few steps away from Harbour House, where we were staying. I wanted this to be very special for her, and the staff at Tiara definitely met my expectations. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal! Our server was very friendly and had a great sense of humour. The atmosphere was quiet and the view was wonderful. Will definitely visit Tiara again, next time we re in Niagara on The Lake!
Thanks to our amazing server, Arthur, we had a great time at Tiara. Arthur was friendly, helpful and overall, an outstanding professional. The food was delicious and it was presented well. Although I m local to the area, I could never become tired of the atmosphere at Queens Landing. We ll done!
We are staying at the hotel for a romantic evening and couldn t be happier with our choice for dinner tonight. W food was outstanding. Duck and Pickerel dishes were both amazing. And the Peanut Butter Bomb was sooo sinfully delicious. Service was top notch. And special kudos to Enrico, their Som, who selected a magnificent Malbec that paired incredibly well with our meals. Couldn t be happier with our dinner venue this evening.
Wonderful dinner for birthday celebration. Service was exceptional and lovely view.
So it took 20 minutes with the restaurant 1/3 full to be greeted by a server. Then order a Kale ceaser for $24 that had 5 Kale leaves and the rest romaine. When I brought this to the servers attention he came back and said the chef said we were getting complaints the Kale ceaser was bland so they added Romain and they simply charged us $24 for an item I did not order. Food overall was small portions and average while being overpriced for what we got. The next night we went to Treadwell paid about 50% more and it was worth every penny!
Fantastic experience. Everything we had was delicious and prepared flawlessly. Service was excellent. The dining room is a bit dated but who really cares when you re savouring every bite. Will definitely come back.
Rose was an excellent server. Great presentation of meals
Great food, celebrated our anniversary here and they took extra care of us to make the day special.
My husband and I had a wonderful breakfast and our server Tia was fabulous. Super attentive and personable. All the staff was excellent Queens Landing.
Food and cocktail were great but service was not worth going back for unfortunatley
SUPER SLOW service. Food was average. Atmosphere was nice out on the terrace.
Ambience and staff were very good!!! Bar drinks and dessert (creme brulee) fabulous. Main meals however not so great. Food profiles bland and sides mismatched. I had the pickerel and added salt for flavor. Another person at my table had the steak which was ok. Would go again for dessert and drinks not for dinner.
Absolutely wonderful experience every time we dined here. My family and I had breakfast three times, as we had stayed at Queen s Landing. The servings were in all honesty MUCH too big but the quality was so incredible. I got the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and we all enjoyed the literal mound of bacon and slices of peameal bacon. We also enjoyed the toast and the jams provided, the black currant being my favorite. The banana bread French toast and I banana butterscotch pancakes(?) were also standouts. For dinner, we celebrated my grandma s birthday. The Cornish hen was delicious as was the shrimp linguini. The white sangria was very refreshing as well! And of course how could we forget the Bacchus Lounge and patio!! The patio is just stunning with flowers like a massive hydrangea bush and a beautiful fountain while the Niagara River is only a short distance away. We enjoyed the marshmallow crème brûlée and the selection of sorbets and ice creams. My personal favorite was a lemon mascarpone. And I can t forget to thank the amazing waitstaff who made our experience all the more amazing. Enrico, Riley, and Gerardo were all amazing! However a special thanks has to go to Edie. She made dining such an enjoyable experience and we cannot thank her enough for treating us with such friendliness, kindness, and hospitality.
Really tasty duck and great desserts.
We had a rainy day at Niagara Falls, so we decided to venture up to Niagara on the Lake. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. Highly rated on Expedia Trip Advisor. We agree!
Excellent...
This was a fantastic night of talking with other coworkers in our organization. The good was phenomenal. Our waiters were terrific. The view was grand.
anyone that consumes the food at this restaurant and gives it any stars at all must have their nine year old cooking for them at home, because if they don t know the difference between good food and garbage. That s why they are there. not only is the food absolutely terrible. It s a $$$ expense. They should be ashamed of themselves. The only kind of people that eat here are people that got trapped in the hotel. Or wanna bees who think this is where it s at. The amount of food I saw left on the table looks like people that were first time visitors or someone that knows the difference. It reminds me of Disney World, kind of an artificial environment, which was quite pleasant but still artificial, and then this garbage they re passing out through the kitchen at the price of an Apple Watch. Absolutely disgusting. Yes, harsh review and they deserve it. Absolutely no value.
Absolutely amazing! One of my fav places to go when I visit Niagara on the lake. Very friendly staff! Amazing food and vibes. You ll def like it if you re a Bridgerton girl
I was really impressed by the service and food quality at this restaurant. The portion size wasnt big, but for the quality and environment, its worth it.
Loved brunch. Classy restaurant. Great food and service. Arthur was a wonderful waiter. Will definitely go back.
This review is based solely on the restaurant. I dont understand the 4 and 5 star reviews regarding the food. We stayed the night and purchased the breakfast option(which ultimately was a big mistake) It is very overpriced for the breakfast buffet, and the quality is poor. I would have preferred to check out of the hotel in the morning and go find a Coras or Sunset Grill or even a nice Mom and Pop spot. The only silver lining was the service we got received from our server, Maria. She was friendly, polite, and attentive.
Great restaurant, great ambiance indoors and outdoors! Good food and great service!
Started with the seafood medley shockingly displayed and wrongly spiced Uniformly bitter..frankly, not sure what the cook was trying to do?? with seafood that should stand on its own Ordered the pork chop as the main: as dry a piece a meat as one can imagine this Sunday evening short order cook is not on the A team! Their pork chop sat on a bed of chopped up, unrecognizable, somethings? (you d have to go back to the menu listings to see what it was supposed to be!) settling in a unremarkable, burned, maple sauce add, the waitress forgot to order my Americano And you get, generally, an overpriced & pretentious serving of inexplicable nonsense not worthy of a food truck! This place is $120 per serving (appetizer and main) without alcohol you can do waaaay better! All too bad since the setting in this restaurant, is extraordinarily, beautiful!
We had a terrible lunch here. The service was good but unfortunately the food was not. Calamari covered in a sticky sweet sauce and mussels that were small and stringy. We asked for lemonade and got a glass of undrinkable lemon juice. Coffee was cold. For the calibre of hotel that this restaurant is in, and the price, I would expect much, much better. I would not recommend and would never go back.
Always enjoy Sunday brunch here. So many options and lots for vegetarian diners. Lovely ambiance and you never feel rushed to leave. Staff are exceptional, but must mention Arthur who always gives great service and takes time to chat a bit...makes you feel very welcome and well looked after. Looking forward to the next time! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian items offered
Fabulous location, food, service.
Was not happy with my turkey dinner Our server was not friendly The price was too much for what we received Do not recommend this restaurant Food : 1/5 |
Our group of 6 came here for brunch buffet on a Sunday afternoon. We were promptly seated by the hostesses and quickly greeted by our server (I believe his name was George). Mimosas were unfortunately not part of the buffet pricing at $45/pp so it does add up quite fast! Food selection was decent however, lacking in protein options as there were more appetizers like cold cuts and charcuterie. The carving station stopped making Yorkshire pudding among some other items and therefore we were not able to try during this visit. If you re a big fan of dessert you ll be glad to know there is a wide selection.
Really nice restaurant with good menu and good service.
Great experience
The Tiara offers the best Sunday brunch in Niagara. We recently celebrated my wifes birthday with family and grandkids and we cant wait to go back. We had exceptional service and the view was outstanding!
Very disappointed. At least they had an option to have chickpea tacos rather than fish tacos or a vegan burger rather than a beef burger but they charged 3 dollars extra. Why would a plant based option cost more than eating an animal!!! For that reason alone we wont be back. Vegetarian options: Option that costs $3 extra which is ridiculous.
Had a great dinner celebrating a special day. When we forgot our baby s bottle at the table when we left someone recalled where we were staying and walked it over to the Harbour House hotel and dropped it off for us. Such a nice touch of going the extra way, great service. Thank you so much, we had a lovely evening.
Food and service below standard! Had the $10 pasta Friday - worse pasta ever! Drenched in tomato sauce can barely see the penne pasta! Salad was warm and soggy! Service very slow - definitely not worth the price we paid for a dinner for 2!
Food was definitely overpriced. I got a recommended dish and I couldnt finish it because it was dry. My husbands pork was also undercooked which he doesnt mind. However I would flag that. Only thing I would have again is the spinach soup. Service was the best part. The sommelier is a gem. Atmosphere was ok.
Turrell is the best server!
Tiara is one of our favourite restaurants. We dined here December 14. The food was delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert. Our server Matt and supervisor Maria made it a wonderful experience.
Well prepared food. Service was perfect
Avery interesting experience with fine dining in a tent. Food was good, and staff made the best of this covid situation
The restaurant looks amazing and service is good but my girlfriend got food poisoning after a dinner o Valentines day. Try to settle down that issue before posting reviews, seems no body care
Excellent meal We enjoyed the mussels, gnocchi, baked brie Freshly made to order Wine fleet Amazing beverage menu
We went to Tiara for a Sunday brunch and were impressed with the food, the service, the layout, everything. There was a beautiful buffet spread with enough choices for vegetarians too ! The highlight of our experience was our server Arthur. He was an absolute delight and treated us with great courtesy and care. Thank you Arthur ! We will be back for the food for sure, but even more to say hello to you :)
Rating would be higher if we could! We decided on an impromptu night out now that more places are open. COVID precautions make for a very safe feeling dining experience. The Tiara-Licious Menu was menu promotion was an excellent value. The Filet Mignon upgrade was prepared to perfection. The Salmon was also prepared beautifully. Our server Matt was attentive without being too obtrusive. We havent visited for quite some time but will definitely be back.
Food was great but our server, Arthur, was an absolutely amazing host. Superbly charismatic and classy!
The view is gorgeous. And the food was delicious. One of your must go restaurant in the town.
A lovely atmosphere with great service from the staff. The food was delicious and the addition of a vegan menu was a nice alternative for those with food allergies.
Dinner was delicious. Attentive service by Rose. Nice being back after such a long time.
Excellent food & service...even in winter with Covid reduced staffing.
We had the 4 flights of local beers with our lunch. The blue cheese gnocchi was amazing. We decided to indulge in their peanut butter cheesecake and were so glad we did. If youre a peanut butter fan - this is a must try.
We came for Breakfast and Gerado was excellent. He made great recommendations and we had the Eggs Benedict with salmon. Everything was done to perfection with eggs done to my liking. Thank you Gerado for making this breakfast so special.
Our visit to the Tiara Restaurant was definitely a happy accident! We have a tradition of celebrating Mothers Day on May 24 weekend in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Unfortunately, our usual place was not hosting a buffet brunch due to the lingering consequences of covid restrictions. The Tiara Restaurant was a second choice that turned out to be first class! The setting, overlooking the Niagara river, was beautiful. The interior space was open, well laid out, and flooded with wonderful natural light from the 180 degrees of floor to ceiling windows. The food was excellent. Great presentation, good variety, and a presumption of freshness. Service was top notch! The only peculiar thing was the double maitre d kiosks when you arrive. This will definitely be our destination next year.
We went to brunch yesterday, we were a party of five and had reservations for 1:30. The food was terrible, the carving station had two pieces of meat that were ice cold. No sauce or horse radish. The waffles were ice cold and tasted like they were day old. As you entered the main buffet are you were extremely disappointed with lack of assortment and everything that should be served hot was cold, and everything that was served cold was warm. The server was excellent but I m not paying $60 to have a great server and not eat a bite . We are not picking and just wanted to have a nice meal,I have had better food at a diner, from the ice cold eggs Bennie that was the only egg choice besides the omelette station, to many items they listed on the website that were not offered at all. No salads or assorted fruit, muffins or croissants, the assorted baked breads were one loaf and no , shame on the management staff for giving us excuses. We will not return to this restaurant.
Terrible food, terrible service. We went to celebrate a bachelorette and the server touched our table around 5 times. Food was bland, there was a piece of plastic in the burrata..just overall so disappointing and would never go back. Food and drinks took extremely long to come. This experience put a complete damper on the rest of our weekend celebration. Manager was nice, but clearly lacked experience. For the price you re paying, you expect good service and even better food. This was worse than a Jack Astor s. Absolutely terrible and wouldn t recommend. I d give 0 stars if I could.
Food was old. Lettuce was going bad in my wrap. I didnt realize it was so bad until I got food poisoning from it :( Will never go back, and please do not go here. Also, their staff did not help us and were unpleasant to speak to. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Thats how bad it was....
Peanut butter and chocolate cake was THE best!
Cold food, over priced
My family and I were here for a Father s Day brunch, and it was terrible. Most of the food was lukewarm at best (most of it was cold), the waffles they served tasted like they had been left out for days. I never write reviews good or bad, but this was such an awful experience. For a brunch that costs 40$ a person, you would think it would be at least somewhat decent. If you are looking for somewhere for brunch, I would definitely go elsewhere.
Food wasn t bad but wasn t special either. Beautiful dinning area. Came here for brunch buffet and while they had a selection that wasn t some carbs based rip off like most buffets and had allot of meat and shrimp ect which is great but the taste of the food wasn t anything special to justify a trip from Toronto. Still enjoyed my experience
STAY AWAY! The bread and butter was by far the hit of the night. We ordered the Burata cheese appetizer and I could not find much tomatoes at all. My wife and I ordered the Arctic Char &48 a plate and it was maybe 4 oz. We did not finish our meals at all. Also ordered Lonster tail and it was completely raw. What a terrible experience. Should have eaten At Treadwells back to back
Loved the Patio seating. I ordered some wraps from the lounge which were amazing and filling too.
We walked by and saw space on the patio and they were dog friendly. This alone would have earned then a good review. Our server Lexi, was awesome her first day at the restaurant but there was no hesitation or lack of enthusiasm. She introduced us to the chef, a very personable individual who spoke with such passion about his food. We will definitely be back next time through Niagara on the lake.
Great location. Menu was limited to 3 mains (casual dining on the patio) and was OK. As part of Queens Landing our expectations may have been too high.
This was a great overall experience. All of the food was very good except for my sirloin steak, it was a bit tough, but tasty. The service by Rudy, our waiter was exceptional. He was friendly, attentive and efficient. We enjoyed his service immensely.
A lovely outdoor setting overlooking the marina (if you re sitting close to the hedge). There is a small but very good vegan menu that you can ask for. I had a grilled tempeh on some kind of purée (hummus with a lot of tahini?) as my starter which was excellent! My main was linguine with pistachio-crusted tofu, mushrooms, zucchini, and tomatoes. Again, it was delicious! My sister had very rare filet mignon which she said was done to perfection! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the lovely atmosphere! Like any upscale restaurant, it s not cheap. I highly recommend!
Not worth the prices charged. The salad I had was limp. The main course was warm not hot. I wont go back. Over rated.
We were attracted by the beautiful patio views and Vintage hotels reputation. Unfortunately, the experience did not come close to our food and drinks experiences at other Vintage properties (Pillar and Post, Millcroft). We ordered drinks and starters. Drinks were watery and bland - not quality mixes. We tried the shrimp, which was just ok, and the seared foie gras, which was terrible. We ate what we could and sent back the rest. The manager did send over a couple free sips of ice wine in apology, but we decided not to order mains there given the poor start. We were disappointed with the food and drink quality and the service - in the end we paid the full bill as requested, though it would have been nice to not be charged for the foie gras. Went back to pillar and post and had a tasty short rib instead!
Pros - The food was pretty good, nice presentation, nice temperature, Good mix of flavours. - Nice patio - Nice wine selection Cons - The portions were too small for the price (you shouldnt be still hungry after paying 250 bucks) - the service was too slow, even though the restaurant wasnt busy... - The menu was very limited (no vegetarian options) Conclusion It is a nice place to have a romantic dinner, but it isnt if youre hungry or are in a hurry.. I wouldnt go twice.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Will definitely come back again soon!!
Service was great and building is nice. Prices for food however, should be about half of what they are.
Very nice place for a drink . Food, unfortunately was disappointing. We were 5 ppl, and 4 of us didn t enjoy our meal. I was only person who returned my plate , I ordered chilli lime calamari , they were very deep fried and overcooked and tasted like rubber. Our waiter offered replacement and I decided to try fish tacos , and I didn t had luck once again , they were salty . This time I didn t say anything as I was super hungry . My friend ordered pasta with shrimp , it came without cheese and it wasn t offered . She asked for some Parmesan , but waiter completely forgot about it it was around 3pm , the place wasn t busy. So overall negative expectations .
Service was wonderful, food was flavourful, and I never needed to ask for a refill on beverages. That being said, the chairs are awful. They have clear signs of wear and two nails were sticking up and were digging into my legs.
Great apps (burratta foie gras), mains (seafood pasta, lamb), desserts (chocolate peanut butter bomb, sorbet) in lovely room, with attentive service (thanks, Rose :)
Came here for a bachelorette. Service was great. The waitress gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate which was very nice I ordered the filet mignon and it was delicious. Would highly recommend
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner tonight! Great service from Rudy made it a dinner to remember for sure! Thank you Rudy! Food was great and the cookie dough cake was to die for
Had a great dinner here for my parents 56th Anniversary. Great atmosphere. View from the dining room window. Relaxing piano music. Food was great and the service was excellent. They also provided my mom with 2 roses and complimentary champagne to celebrate.
Our waitress Kim was outstanding
Had some good vegan tempeh and pasta. My gf really liked it. They have a small but sufficient vegan menu. The food is very expensive so we just got mains and no starters. The vegan mains were $38 each. Theres a large wine selection so I got to try Stratus without having to go there. They gave complimentary sparkling wine or champagne because it was our anniversary. It was nice and a little sweet. The bread basket was $5 and plentiful.
We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning after a nights stay at Queens Landing. We found the food to be just good, and not the best breakfast weve had. Despite this, it was truly an unforgettable experience because of the unparalleled hospitality and service provided by Arthur in addition to the beautiful ambience. He is truly one of the warmest and kindest people weve encountered and made our experience a delight.
Great location. I ordered seafood Linguine, misrepresentation is the word here. 3 shrimps, 3 dime size scallops, 1 shred if something could be called lobster but I cant call it lobster. Totally unacceptable for $60. Regret. Never again.
Fantastic experience absolutely bar none , one of the best dining experiences we had. The service perfect , the food perfect .... Thank you for this memorable experience it was wonderful ! Parking: plenty
We were a group of 15 and one lady was kind enough to arrange the reservation. A 65.00 deposit for each person was required just to make the reservation and caused an organizational nightmare. We had our meals, some ladies order meals and appetizers over the deposit, some had meals under the deposit amount. The restaurant refused to do individual bills and the entire food bill went to the kind lady who tried to organize our dinner. We had to itemize each item with tax and tiara tip and go back and figure out e-transfers. Since we all showed up why couldn t you refund the deposits and just give us individual bills, that s the point of a deposit, too make sure we all showed up not to ruin the event while we all tried to do the math and reimburse the organizer. It made a the event stressful and unpleasant. Responding to the response, I am confident our coordinator did not want to accept a final food bill for our group and then manually figure out everyone s appetizer/meals, calculate the hst and then the tip and follow up with everyone to be reimbursed the coordinator did not get what she wanted, our group got was convenient for Queens landing and the restaurant and the tip was automatic. No one has taken responsibility for the disconnect between, sales, contracts and what was a dinner for 15 individuals that turned into a mathematical exercise and lots of follow up. This review is to warn other groups not a good idea to go to this restaurant as group, I hope no one has the same experience we had.
Had our anniversary dinner here recently. Rudy was a great waiter. Food was very tasty and cooked perfectly but it did take a while for our mains to come out. Decor is a bit dated but we expected that. Overall a great dinner experience and would recommend to anyone.
Had lunch here and it was a massive disappointment. Lunch took 2.5 hours in total. It took an hour to get our food which was cold when it finally arrived. Bills were totally screwed up and it took almost 40 minutes for our server to figure out and reprint the bills. The food flavor was ok, but since it was dead cold it was hard to judge. For the price this was completely unacceptable. We noticed other people were having similar issues as us during this lunch time.
Great food and exceptional service.
lovely service, food was delicious. Gave us complimentary sparkling wine for our anniversary.
Came here for their Sunday buffet, and wow, it was the BEST WESTERN FOOD Ive had in a long time! I live in NYC and have been to a lot of notable restaurants that serve Western cuisine, so Im not easily impressed when it comes to food. But the seafood and meat dishes here blew me away. Also, the tabbouleh here was hands-down the best Ive ever had. And the DESSERTS...OMG!! The desserts here were some of the best Ive ever tasted in my life--esp. the red velvet cake, cheesecake and bread pudding. Thanks to this place, Im now utterly convinced that no one knows how to do desserts better than Canadians do (and this is coming from someone whos lived in NYC, Paris, Germany and Korea and has traveled to many other places around the world)! I just wish there was a way to have Tiaras desserts shipped over to NYC where I live currently--Id gladly pay lol! =)
The quality and presentation of the food were above my expectation. Friendly, attentive staff worked hard to make our dinner one to remember. This restaurant is one to visit!
We had breakfast and dinner at this restaurant. We had Get cracking omelet and it was really good. Loved the use of local ingredients and freshness of the food. In the dinner we had Marinated Chili Shrimp, chicken supreme and Atlantic Salmon. Worth the money we paid. All the servers were nice and accommodating and had good information about the local area
Great brunch, pretty view
Fantastic high quality food. Great staff and service.
Not great. Nice space, warm. But food is not good. Carpaccio was very sour. Vegan steak very dry and tasteless. The ambiance and posturing doesn t match the substance of what you eat.
Spectacular service. Food was wonderful and sommelier recommended a perfect accompaniment.
Great place! Nice atmosphere! The servers were very polite and treat you very well would definatley go back. 100% well done
We had made reservations weeks before, even before the reopening of stage 1 Ontario was announced (patios reopening), for a special event. During this time, we made contact with the restaurant several times until the day of the reservation. Each time, we were ensured everything would be okay with our booking. We do not live near this area and it was over 1.5 hours to get there, albeit we were willing to make the trip as the view and ambiance looked surreal. To start, the menu is incredibly confusing during these times and constantly changing, we called multiple times and each time were given a different answer contradictory to website information on the menu. Understanding that these are unpredictable times but the content on the website should at least be up to date and the workers should be aware of any changes to the menu. It would help if individuals with reservations were notified of any changes to the cuisine options, especially if attending for special events, so as not to have to contact them every time we are curious about the menu. The day of the reservation, there was intermittent rain and we contacted the restaurant a few hours before our reservation to inquire about whether reservations would be cancelled. They gave unclear responses and were very abrupt and rude, it seemed like they were under too much stress and did not have time to deal with customers. They told us that even though we had reservations, others groups (who did not have reservations) would have priority over us as they were guests of the hotel. This news was NOT disclosed to us at any point during the numerous times we contacted the restaurant and were ensured everything was alright with our reservation. This is very unprofessional and should absolutely be disclosed as it will change whether we were willing to travel the distance to dine there. What was even more irritating was that this was not even disclosed on their behalf, if we had not contacted them the day of, we would have never known and would have been stuck waiting for hours and may not have even gotten a chance to dine in the end. To top it off, the rain had stopped in the area for the last hour and our reservation was spontaneously cancelled within 15 minutes of the time it was made for. Unfortunately, we were already in the region at this point and had to drive home. Disappointed overall and our special event was absolutely ruined.
Delicious meal
Disinterested service, boring food, patio is the only highlight. Skip it - they command high-end prices, but only provide Golden Gridle level of service and food on par with BeerMarkt. Server was rushed, never offered drinks, never asked if food is ok... Brought and dumped 3 out of four mains with not a single word or explanation. Fourth main came 10 min later, tossed into table, had to raise the voice to get attention for missing cuttlery (or server would just leave). Had trouble getting simple ketchup for fries, nobody around to flag. Lots of employees inside, doing nothing - looks like they are guarding bar bottles? Pasta drenched in garlic for no reason, tasteless tacos, dry burger, everything served with fries, like some cheap pub. Limited menu, bland basic food and over the top prices - not worth it at all. Go to gate house for food or any winery restaurant - at least the service will be better and price more reasonable. The heritage angle is not worth it (think old wall paper and crabby carpet) and there is no pride nor attention in service.
Our server was fabulous! Made reservations quickly over the phone. Drinks and food were fantastic - the strawberry pims was VERY yummy, and the beauty elixir was quite strong (but yummy with some extra soda added!) Would absolutely come back!
One of my favorite dining experiences. The staff was very personable and super attentive. The food was exquisite. Worth every penny. I will be back
Our group of 10 were thoroughly impressed by the food quality, taste and presentation!! Our service during dinner was amazing!! Breakfast was also delicious, but the server seemed overwhelmed and forgot a few things. Either than that, we all had a wonderful experience!
My friend and I were planning to visit this restaurant while spending the day exploring niagara-on-the-lake. We were dressed in the same sort or attire as most of the people out and about. When we asked to be seated we were told the restaurant was only allowing hotel guests entry. On our way out another walk-in group who did not have reservations was allowed entry. I am less than impressed - We did not enjoy being lied to and the only reason we could see for the exception was that my friend is a visible minority. Perhaps this establishment should rethink its customer service standards.
We stayed at the hotel here, and had reservations for all the meals we had. The food was incredible along with the drinks. The servers, and hosts/hostesses were all very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The breakfast portions are huge, and will keep you full for very long if you plan to do a lot during the day. Special shout out to Jerry and Arthur who served us breakfast.
Came for lunch. This is what the burger, pulled pork sandwich and chicken wrap look like. My burger was really juicy. Service was exceptional, and the lunch menu is very affordable compared to regular restaurants in town, so it was a chance to indulge in luxury and on the incredible service at this chain of hotels weve been fans of. We didnt stay overnight, just made reservations online. The patio was great and made it more enjoyable. Lots of selfie spots for those who like that stuff. Will definitely come again.
I dined there about two weeks ago with my two small (2 +4yrs) children. I would recommend anyone who is eating there with kids come prepared to feed them yourself. I asked our server Arthur what they had for children, he said he would ask the kitchen. The kitchen said nothing. They would not make my kids anything to eat. Not a grilled cheese, or a pasta, items I am sure they probably had. Thank goodness I had snacks in my purse so my kids ate applesauce I supplied them and and nuts. Some lunch.... Our service was also extremely slow. It seemed like our server was the only one for the entire room and there were lots of diners that day for lunch.
Amazing service by Rudy . Food was good but a bit pricey. Pretty old school and meant for those over 55. Traditional upscale. Your parents restaurant.
Smoked chicken dinner for two Get value Get taste
We had awesome time at Tiara restaurant last Saturday! Thank you Chef Mark for great dining experience: amazing presentation and outstanding flavors! Great service as well!
Nice restaurant and bar with a large patio and lake view. Food is great and the staff is very friendly.
They have a new all vegan menu in addition to their regular menu!!! Weve had it twice already. The grilled tofu was awesome, as was the charred tomato soup. Greatly appreciate that I can now find fine vegan dining in NOTL!
I went as a group of 10. The beef I got was amazing, but everything else was not good. The risotto wasn t cooked right, had a gritty texture. The shrimp and pasta dish was underwhelming in flavour. The shrimp was a more expensive type of shrimp , which is why it looked like it was freeze dried and rehydrated. The desserts were good. For the price my party and I paid, there are plenty of better restaurants. I won t be back here.
I went with a party of 4 for dinner this evening and let me say we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was amazing, the service was top notch they went over and above to make our evening memorable. We cant wait to go back!
We had a patio reservation for this afternoon (were not comfortable dining indoors yet) and they closed the patio due to rain (which is completely understandable) so our reservation was cancelled. I asked if they would do take-out for us and they agreed; I called back a little later to place our order. We ordered 2 sides/apps and 2 mains, one of which was on the vegan menu. When we arrived to pick up our order they informed us they hadnt made the vegan main because that menu was for dinner only (which was neither referenced on their online menu, even though their lunch and dinner menus have valid times listed, nor was it mentioned on the phone when we placed the order). They had our phone number (as they had called to advise us of the closure of the patio) so I cant understand why they wouldnt have called us to advise of their inability to make the vegan main earlier? It was our anniversary and suddenly I had no main dish to eat. We ended up ordering a second side on the spot to try to comprise a full meal (and they did throw in a second one of the side complementary, which was appreciated), but we probably would have cancelled the order if we had known at a reasonable time that half of it would be missing. Overall very disappointing.
My husband and I had reservations at Tiara restaurant at the Queens Landing during our recent stay during what was a very stressful time for all the wait and kitchen staff.. during covid, being short staffed both in the kitchen and in the dining room. In saying that we had an amazing dinner and evening. The service was over and above...Our server Beverly was beyond apologetic for circumstances beyond her control and did her best to make sure we were satisfied with everything... The kitchen staff also did a phenomenal job .. Our meals were delicious and came out hot, plated beautifully and in a timely fashion. Shelly, I would assume to be a supervisor, maintained grace and composure while dealing with some patrons that were absolutely over the top with their needs to be satisfied.. Kudos to everyone working the kitchen and dining room during our recent stay. .We will most definitely be returning in the future.. Lisa & Scott Coburn
Beautiful Dining experience in the heart of NOTL. You will not be disappointed
Amazing food, flavours and service. Had the dinner package and definitely recommend coming here. One of the best dining experiences if you enjoy high quality food and flavours
Food from a passionate chef
Great food great server.. highly recommended
Not worth the money at all. Im sure covid has affected them but the food was ridiculous. Ordered wild caught shrimp and they were frozen popcorn shrimp about 1/2 long. And then ordered 1/2 lobster tail and it was a half of a Spiny lobster so the tail was about 3 inches long and then only half of it. Also it was disgusting and looked horrible. I rarely ever leave bad reviews but felt I had to. Not to mention that we felt ignored by the server as we watched him set our food down on a nearby counter and then never bring it to the table for almost 5 minutes. Also had to ask for the bill after sitting there for 15 minutes after we were done eating and they had already taken our plates.
My husband and I stayed at the hotel this past weekend. We had breakfast in the Tiara dining room and the food was incredible. WE had the same server both Saturday ad Sunday morning. For the life of me, I can not remember his name, it began with an A. He was wonderful, attentive and what a personality. Saturday night we came in for dinner, and Rose served us. Once again, she was incredible. My husband has gluten and lactose allergies. We spoke to Rose about the preset menu which had desert listed. We inquired about the gluten/lactose free dessert that we saw on the menu and she said that she would accommodate us, not a problem. He ordered mussels, without asking, they adjusted the recipe for him without butter. His entrée was the same. WE didnt ask for this but the fact that they did this for us, SIMPLY AMAZING. I can not thank you enough for this. A, Rose and the chef, kudos!! Food was simply superb and the service was wonderful. Thank you again.
We came here to celebrate my dad s 50th birthday, but the service left such a bad impression of the day. There were a number of problems, but the first began before all of us sat down. We had literally just sat down and my mom was still walking to our table, but our waitress had already come to ask us what we would like to drink. She saw that we literally just arrived (one of us still walking to the table) and hadn t had a chance to look at our menus so I don t know why she came over so soon. Maybe she was basing it on some stereotype of chinese guests rarely ordering drinks; FYI all of us ended up ordering a drink. Then came to ordering, my sister ordered the burger and the waitress took our orders but then she came back and told my sister she forgot to ask which side she wanted and whether or not she wanted to add cheese. My sister being lactose intolerant said no cheese, but when our order came the burger had cheese on it and the waitress had the audacity to say the kitchen automatically put cheese on it . I worked as a server for several years myself, so I know that if the kitchen automatically puts cheese in a dish there would be no reason for the server to clarify whether the customer wanted cheese. It shows to me that the kitchen or the server messed up my sisters order and didn t think we were worthy of fixing it. And even if the kitchen automatically pus cheese on it they should be able to leave the cheese out if specified by the customer. Also when the drinks came mine and my mother s were fine, but my sister s drink came all sticky and covered with booze and pulp (picture of the glass is included). If you re going to charge $16 for a little glass you can at least take 2 seconds to wipe down the glass. We also indicated in our reservations that it was for my dad s birthday and the front desk even clarified whose birthday it was, but we went through the whole meal and left without it ever being mentioned again. I don t mind if a restaurant doesn t do something special for celebrations, and I don t know if this resturant normally does something special (but if not it s probably best to not ask for that information on the reservation). But if this restaurant does celebrate special occasions differently then we did not get that experience.
Gerardo is one of the best servers in the business! Exceptional food. I will definitely return.
Beautiful summer patio, great ambience. Disappointing food menu, cheese board was ok both times. Still would come back again for the atmosphere
We went to Tiaras at the beginning of October and we had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, the setting was warm and comfortable, the service was excellent, and all COVID protocols were being followed by the staff. This was something of a last-minute decision - so the impact of our experience was even more powerful. Thanks so much for a wonderful time (and please courier me one of those delicious charcuterie boards)!
