Trius Winery & Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake

My partner and I had dinner here for our anniversary, and it was spectacular! We each had two courses and both loved our meals.

They took non-white customers to their side dining room while there were plenty seats available in the centre room. The table they assigned to us was even just beside their storage room where wine boxes were piled and manifesting through the glass door. Very uncomfortable experience - I assume this would never be experienced by white guests.

Had a great fun time on the wine tour with Barry! Learned a lot, got a lot of good photos. Would definitely come back just for the tasting :)

The Barrel room dinner and atmosphere was a highlight of our team retreat and visit to Niagara on the Lake. Our host Chris tailored the details for everyone s enjoyment. Thank you to the team at Trius for a memorable evening!

Love this winery! The wine is amazing and the winery is stunning. Ive done a simple tasting, as well as the Sparkling Tour for my Bachelorette party - highly recommended! The guide is very informative and the tour offers a lot of fun photo opportunities while sipping great wine!

Took my wife here for her birthday dinner. Service was mostly concerned on upselling our bill more than anything else and towering over us when she brought the bill and machine at the same time. Did not feel relaxed. Made a reservation few weeks in advance and got a table beside the door. Dinner was disappointing and had such small amounts of anything of substance/ protein we stopped for food on the way home. No beef option on the menu. $200 + dinner with 1 glass of wine each. Not worth it.

This is a spacious and bright restaurant with the tables spaced some distance from each other and large glass doors/windows overlooking the vineyard. We had the two course (main with an either appetizer or a dessert). The food is nicely presented with a lot of description on the menu. Unfortunately the portions were very small and the quality and taste did not live up to hyped menu. The smoked Atlantic salmon appetizer consisted of a tiny piece of fish that was rather bland. The pickerel main was again a rather small very bland piece of fish. The goat cheese dessert was barely edible with overwhelming syrupy sweetness. The service was excellent.

We had a lovely time with our group of six Louis was our tour guide and did a fabulous job giving us a very informative and fun experience! The sights and pictures we got were fabulous as well. Sharon the sweetest most kind woman at the register made for a very helpful experience and we were able to make the right decision with what we wanted to purchase. The winery is beautiful and the views are amazing! Very classy and fun!

Ive visited many wineries across the Niagara region, and Trius stands out as the best by far. The main reason for this was undoubtedly due to our tour guide, Harry. His extensive knowledge, excellent communication skills, high energy, and undeniable passion for wine made the experience unforgettable. He is also hilarious. In my opinion, Harry has a natural talent for engaging people, and Trius would benefit from involving him in their social media efforts. His charisma and expertise could create incredible awareness for the brand, bringing immense value to Trius if done right.

Delightful tasting of 6 reds plus the house sparkling brut. Our sommelier was knowledgeable and added interesting details to our wine experience. The cheese plate had 5 varieties - all were good. We purchased bottles of two of the wines, and I am now regretting not grabbing a couple of bottles of the Trius Sparkling Brut!

Very high quality place with outstanding staff, good choice of food, the quality of produce is outstanding and enough to eat for a Michelin guide restaurant. We were 4 people and we basically tasted all their food menu and it didnt disappoint from appetizers to main course. We visited quite a few Michelin guide restaurants in Europe and I am proud to say that this canadian restaurant is very good for price quality. Recommend!!!

The whole experience was just spot on, from the tour to the private room dinner. Food was excellent. Really enjoyed the butternut squash soup and the beef.

Enjoyed a wonderful table d hote, or a two course prix fixe. We enjoyed a generous pour of wine with our lunch. The venue was wonderful, service was amazing. A lunch experience we will not soon forget.

Beautiful vineyard, good collection of wines. A standing wine tasting for $15 CAD (3 samples of 1oz) or a seated tasting for $27 CAD (4 samples of 2 oz). Both are equally good. Tour is $45 CAD, approx 1hr. You get to try their 4 signature wines (1-2 oz). Tour has 4 stops, 2 outdoor which were okay and 2 in the cellar which were pretty good. Overall, wines were okay, tour was so so.

We booked a seated wine tasting this past weekend while we were staying in Niagara on the lake for our anniversary. Trius is one of our favourite wines and The wine choices available for tasting are vast and we re all excellent. The service and staff was great and the location is beautiful. It was raining so unfortunately, we could not enjoy the property, but we saw lots of people in groups that did. We purchased few bottles of wine to go. We hope to visit again during the summer months.

The trius tour was a lot of fun, the wine tasting was delicious and our tour guide was so sweet. We also really enjoyed the lunch at their restaurant.

One star is too many for me, it is been the third year passing by and having no services or acknolagement for me and my wife, I dont know what it takes to be taking care of,,, I became a club memmber because of Peller Winery but will cancel my membership this year because of Trius.Has never been able to have their tasting wine access. Too bad, this was the last time with them, will never come back or buy any of their product, sorry again, I am not important but this should never have happened, it is poor business strategies. Hope for them to continue, but count me out.

I would give a -1* We are Club members of Peller, Wayne Gretzky & Trius. We became members because of the remarkable service & products at Peller. We have been to Trius three times & have yet to be able to do a simple taste testing! (We dont live in the area & cant simply drop by) Today, we were totally ignored by staff even after telling them we are club members! We were not rude, we are professionals & gave them another chance. Stike 3, they will not be getting any of our business through the club or otherwise. We bought our cases of wine elsewhere!

Amazing food, staff and atmosphere.

So disappointed in this winery. I ve been waiting for a return call for approximately 10 days now. I inquired about booking the cellar room for dinner with a 32 guests. I even called back after almost a week of waiting for a response and I was promised a call back? Nothing like chasing a business who isn t interested in making a few thousand dollars for dinner. For reference the inquiry was under Rachel Mackellar. Really disappointed in you guys.

Had dinner at Trius restaurant on Sunday September 1st, 24. The wait time for a table(with reservations) was short. Dining room was comfortable with a nice atmosphere and overlooking the vineyards. Our server (Ashley) was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our party of 4 all ordered the 2 course fixed pries ($69) starter and entree. The appetizers came quickly and where well received (I had the duck mouse). Our entrees arrived shortly afterwards and although presented well, my entree I felt was undercooked. ONTARIO FARMS GRILLED PORK CHOP Smoked Cheddar & Potato Gratin Welsh Bros Corn, Grilled Baby Gold Peach, Savoy Cabbage Crispy Scotch Egg & Niagara Peach Chutney The outside of the chop away from the bone was cooked well however when I tried to cut the chop closer to the centre, it was more or less raw.(medium @ 145F is safe but to eat but not to my liking and I although it was stated afterwards by the server that it was cooked to medium. I wasn t told that or was asked how I liked it cooked) I had assumed that the chop would be cooked closer to 160F range. Ashley asked if I wanted the chop cooked longer but at that point I found it unappetizing and I was done. I was offered a dessert instead. I declined. I m disappointed that @ $69 for 2 courses, dessert doesn t make up for less than satisfactory meal.

We had a wonderful family lunch with delicious food and great wine. Our server, Michelle, was friendly and recommended a lunch combo (1 appetizer + 1 entrée) that seemed like a great deal compared to ordering separately. The food and wine were excellent, but we ran into an issue with the bill. We were charged the individual prices for each appetizer and entrée instead of the combo price. I m not sure if this was because the bill was processed after 4 PM (when dinner pricing starts), but I wish Michelle had informed us in advance, especially since we weren t very hungry and would have chosen differently if we knew about the price change.

Outstanding service. We had an inquiry about the tastings and started talking to our waitress. He noticed that none of the tastings that had been put together was exactly right for us and then put together something suitable to our taste - at no extra charge. There was also an explanation for each glass about the wine, storage and taste. It couldnt have been better for us. The ambience is very nice, a bit classy and we recommend making a reservation if you also want to eat.

We had one of the most incredible meals of our lives here. We tried the tasting menu and each course was better than the last. The wait staff are excellent and our server Ashley was so knowledgeable and friendly. It was also a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy all their wines. Can t wait to go back

Was there for over an hour and only got the drinks (which were amazing frozen rose slushies) we bought ourselves from the shop to our table. We waited for a table for 15 minutes, which was perfectly fine since we wandered around the shop and grounds. Once seated, we waited about 15 minutes to be served and we each ordered a flight of wine plus 6 appetizers. Then we waited over 30 minutes and nothing came. It was not that busy, it was midweek and in the middle of the day. The server could be seen socializing and being very attentive. To be fair, their wines are lovely so hopefully this isnt a regular occurence.

We are delighted to share our outstanding experience at this venue, where we indulged in wine and merriment amidst a warm and inclusive ambiance. Dont get me wrong, the wine was nice. This was a quick stop as it was right next to Wayne Gretzky estates (which was delightful and clearly the Great One!) However, the 2 star rating comes from being seated for 40 minutes(while not busy), waiting for someone to take our order for wine and another 10 minutes for chips in a small bucket. We also got served after a table who sat after us and only after I politely let the host know its been a while and we have not been served. Never got the water we asked for. Sadly, our least favorite stop of the day, (which we were excited about) the low rating was more than anything, for the lack of service and attention.

As a group of 6, 2 from Wisconsin, 2 from New Jersey and 2 from Ontario, we stopped in to experience a wine tasting at Trius. We thoroughly enjoyed the sampling of wines and paired it with some lovely appetizers. As we were able to purchase bottles of the wine we tasted, all 6 of us decided to purchase. One ice wine, that was part of the tasting, was a $68 bottle, but was out of stock. The waiter suggested another ice wine, but did not state the price. When the bill for food, wine tasting and purchased bottles came, the substitute wine was $99! Why would the waiter not have advised that the wine he suggested was $31 more than what was wanted? My 2 dear friends did not take the substitute wine! It left a sour taste to an otherwise delightful afternoon.

Best winery tour Ive ever been on. Period, space, new sentence. Unbelievable photo opportunities at every stop. Unbelievable wine, staff and vineyard as a whole. Our tour guides name was Devon and I would strongly recommend asking for him for your tour. He was friendly, very interactive, had fun little competitions for us. He took many photos for our group and all his photos turned out perfectly. Very happy with our experience. Highly recommend.

The service was great but the food was pretty bland and not really worth the hype.

Very disappointed. Arrived at Trius on Monday August 5th around 12noon to do a tasting at the bar. Once we arrive we noticed there was only one staff member at the tasting bar and was already helping a group of 6. She did acknowledge our presence so we waited around looking at the wines in the shop. After about 10 minutes, she finished helping the other guests and asked how she could help us. When we told her we were interested in doing a tasting at the bar she rudely let us know they only sell wine by the glass and we would need to go outside and do a seated tasting. She let us know that the rules for tastings at the bar had changed as on June 1st. As she let us know this, she turned around and started helping another guest. Did not give us a chance to respond or even the option to order a glass of wine. Given that I don t have the patience for rude people, we immediately left. We spent the rest of our day enjoying wine at the tasting bars of Inniskillin, Jackson Triggs and Peller Estates.

very slow and not walk in friendly. Place is empty and hostess will say all full. They finally gave me a reservation after waiting 23 minutes for a table that was open. Extremely poorly run. If you come here make a reservation and expect awful service. I asked to speak to manager and non around. Its the same owner as Gretzky but no where near as well run and Gretzky also has poor service.

If youre looking for a place to have fun on a bachelorette trip look no further! Our group decided last minute to add the Trius Tour to one of our stops during the weekend and showed up without a reservation. Staff were super kind, helpful and professional and we were lucky to get a spot with only 30 minutes to wait. Greg led our tour through every beautiful location on the grounds and made our experience even more special!! If youre looking for great wine, beautiful pictures for the gram, and a fun filled adventure then this is the wine tour for you! Ask for Greg to lead your group he was the best!! Thanks Greg!!

We did a tour as a bachelorette party. Barry was a fantastic tour guide! He was not only knowledgeable, but put his own spin on things to ensure the group had fun. You can tell he was invested in everyone enjoying themselves. The wines were great and there were plenty of photo opportunities.

This past weekend I drove down to Trius to photograph a bridal shower for a client of mine.They provided a full meal, and were very attentive. The party was fantastic as well!

We had such a wonderful dinner here!! The food was top notch quality. Wine was to die for and perfectly paired. And our waiter Chris really made the entire experience spectacular! He was knowledgeable, professional, and guided us through a perfect meal. The property is also beautiful! Highly recommend!

Incredible Experience Here 5+++ I was taken here for my birthday celebration and everything was exquisite. The atmosphere, the food, the wonderful wines all made it a great experience! But I have to mention our great server, Danny. It seemed like there was absolutely nothing that he did not know about every single one of the wines we had and more. He gave us interesting and fine details about the process of making each wine type and for all the food we had. I would recommend that if you were going to go, you would ask to be seated in Danny s section. You will see what I mean about this fine young man.

We had an amazing time at Trius! We did a Saturday afternoon tour and tasting. Barry, who led our tour, really made the experience for us. He was knowledgeable, approachable and entertaining - he also got some great photos for us too! The winery and experience itself, is really unlike others. Weve been on several other tours in the region and Trius is our favourite!

Did the trius tour with my girls for a bacherette. Jessica was incredible.. very informative, helpful and kind. So many spots for fun photos... Super beautiful!

Server was lovely. We werent allowed to be sat at an empty table until 3:15 when we were only 15 minutes early. We didnt get service for 15 minutes and our tour guide had to leave because we didnt actually get our wine till 4 which was the end of our tour time. So we had to Uber home because they refused to sit us slightly early and then took forever. I understand it was busy but we are paying extra on our wine tour for this winery and now had to pay even more for an Uber home because we had to stay half an hour past our tour time

It was a wonderful experience, it worth visiting over and over again. I wish they have beds for customers cause its like a dreamland.

I really wanted to give this winery a 5 star, my friends and I came from out of town this past weekend and had purchased the discover passes for the wine festival, we wanted to do trius last since we wanted to stay the longest there and see all the beautiful scenery and backdrops, specifically the rose all day back drop. We saw there was a tour up at the top lounge where we wanted to take pictures so we waited and kindly asked the tour guide if we can quickly go upstairs and take pictures, he stated it was just for tours however once we leave you girls can go . So that s what we did. Not even 5 minutes a lady came up and yelled at us in her exact words you girls can t be up here. You need to leave now !!!!! Im a 34 year old, she didn t need to yell at us. Also she crossed her hands and said you need to leave and watched us pack our things and walked directly behind us down the stairs like we were walking out of the principles office. It was extremely disappointing as we didn t get our pictures we wanted and also spent over 200 between us 4 on wine from Trius. I feel like we were not welcomed especially paying more then what a tour would have cost. Watch out for the blonde older lady when you go !

Came for a wine tasting session and to get some snacks . The place was fully booked and I had to wait for about an hour since I didn t reserve it beforehand. The service was really good. I had ordered some pita bread with hummus but my bread was burnt . I did tell the server that a few pieces were burnt and she immediately replaced them for me . They also kept checking in to make sure that everything was good. Will definitely be back soon for more wine tasting

Food was probably a 3/5 and same for value. Pretty expensive spot and menu was prix fixed (maybe due to long weekend). The venue was beautiful though so hence the 4 star. Important to remember you are there for the view and wine, not really the food

Went to Trius with a group of my girlfriends for an event being held at Trius. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and so nice at Trius. Had a few staff members asking if we needed help with anything at all. After our event we were sitting on their outdoor patio drinking our wine and one of the staff named Alyssa was so nice and asked if we wanted to go in to one of their rooms and take photos, she took a bunch of photos for us which was so kind. Afterwards another staff member named Lior came out and offered us some cotton candy. Was truly the most amazing experience and can t wait to go back for a wine tasting with my girlfriends !! Would recommend this winery to anyone!!

Wine tastings are always great fun at Trius. I was there on Sunday for a beautiful day and great wine tasting. Kevin was very helpful and took his time explaining the different wines and different options available. The Trius Frose is a highly recommended ice wine slushy for a hot day too.

Server Kevin was so informative. He seemed to read our minds about what we wanted. Left with more wine than we had originally thought we would, but I know we ll love all of it..thanks Kevin for a very pleasant afternoon

I have been here 3 times and each time staff have been unfriendly. I came here today for a tasting with 5 other people. I had to ask for tap water which seemed like a burden. The waiter wasn t friendly either. Each time has been a similar situation.

Very disappointed. Expected them to be same level as Peller Estate and it was nothing like it. Please don t waste your time for a fine dining experience at Trius just a waste of your money.

Nice place, I have been to Trius many times. On my recent visit we walked over from Gretzkys to have lunch. We got in line to be seated, the people in front of us were taken right out to be seated. We were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour even though there were plenty of open tables. We stepped back and the party behind us was seated right away. At that point i realized that they didnt want any kids on the property ( We had my daughter & our Grand kids with us for my wifes 60th birthday and our 40th anniversary) and by telling us it would be a long wait they hoped we would go away, so we did. Im surprised Gretzky didnt have a problem being owned by the same company as Trius. If you have kids pass this one, all the other wineries had no problem with the kids

As a wine club member my husband and I went for a tasting and had a wonderful experience. Our server, Joshua, gave good descriptions and wonderful recommendations. We ordered a couple of sharable plates to enjoy with our wine and they were very tasty. Ended our evening going home with a box of a nice assortment of wines and will definitely be back again.....and hopefully Joshua will take care of us again!

The experience was unforgettable. The guided tour was informative and our guide was very versatile. He took time to clearly explain how all types of wine and champagne are produced.

Of the wineries I ve been to in Niagara for tastings, this was the most disappointing. Our server did not provide any information about the flights we ordered and only named them upon request. She also did not check on our table at any point throughout the tasting. We eventually approached the main host station to ask for our bills after we sat with empty glasses waiting to pay for about 15 minutes, late for our next tasting. When we asked if we could take a photo in the photo area, we were told no, people pay for that. Incredibly unhappy with the service, especially given that this tasting was the most expensive one I ve booked thus far at $27. I would skip Trius and consider one of the smaller wineries in Niagara region if you re planning a trip here.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! On May 26th 2024 My husband and I came by to get some food and do their wine tasting but left without having any of it. We got settled and then had to wait for quite some time, as the waiters were ignoring us despite our attempts to attract their attention. Then, one of the employees came by and told us that they don t serve this particular table, even though another employee had seated us there. He didn t take our order, saying that he was not a waiter. We waited a little longer and left because no one wanted to serve us for some reason. The staff were unpleasant and condescending. Stay away! Their neighbours are much better.

Well after a horrible experience I had to try again well here I am another $102 dollars I was trying to to enjoy my Saturday well much better experience actually wine cellar experience omg many photo areas Barry was nice explained well

We spent Mothers Day at Trius. We had been there before at a Dinner and a Movie event where both the food and the wine had been excellent. This time we started out with some wine tasting. Remember, this is at the winery where they should be promoting their products.Well, $27 per person will get you 8 oz. - the first 2 oz. are not even a wine of your choosing because everybody gets a sparkling wine. Sorry, but this is really too much money if you are trying to get customers. We had our dinner outside which was lovely. My husband had the 3-course option which came to $82 + tax + tip; I had two courses for $62 + tax + tip. For the first course, my husband had a small cup of mushroom soup while I received about five asparagus tips. We are both in our seventies. I mention this since like most elderly people, we do not eat a lot. My second course was a seafood salad which was attractive to look at, but certainly not much to eat. My husbands chicken looked more like the leg of a Cornish hen. His dessert was a piece of cheese cake on a popsicle stick amounting to two small bites for $14. I had a glass of wine; my husband had water. Our meal was over $300 and we walked away hungry. Yes, we wanted to have a nice special day, but no, this was not worth the amount of money because we walked away hungry. There are a lot of nice places where $300 will get you a suberb meal for two. In the future, thats where we will go.

I booked the winery tour. I was expecting it to be amazing because of the cute clips Ive seen online but it was super disappointing because the whole thing was extremely rushed. We had a small group but the tour still felt rushed. There was no time to really enjoy the cute hang out spots or get those instagram worthy photos. The deck with the flowers was so dirty. The flowers have been out in the elements too long and you can tell they just look worn and dingey. Also, at the end of the tour, theres a cotton candy machine to taste cotton candy with the wine but you dont even get your own stick of cotton candy. They just passed around one and everyone picked off it. I thought that it was kinda gross and lazy of them to only make one. Would have been alot cuter to get your own stick. I had all of 30 seconds to get a photo inside the champagne bubbly mirror room before being asked if I was done which just really took away from the experience and vibe. Overall beautiful property and the right idea, just poorly executed and rushed!

Came for a quick tasting for a friends birthday and had the BEST most knowledgeable service from Danny ! He was so fun and pleasant. Kept the conversation light and very informative! Thank you for your great recommendations and the Oscar award brut! We will definitely be back!

We stopped in on a Sunday late afternoon at the end of May while traveling. This was one of a few that were open a bit later an according to Google maps when we were looking for a winery to check out. The property from what we could see is beautiful. We did not have a reservation but we were able to do a tasting. The gentleman who sat us and then served out tasting was very personable and animated. The wine was good. Our group of four had dinner at the Trius Winery restaurant early May because we wanted to have the Chef experience and some fine dining in NOTL. Our server Ashley went above and beyond and as a result, we all said she was one of the best servers we have had (5/5). Her dedication and loyalty to Trius was second to none and she was very informative! Thank you on behalf of 4 of us! And worthy to note our meals were served in a timely manner by four servers simultaneously. Our appetizers and desserts were very good, cappuccino soup. Romaine heart salad, Trius smoked salmon, Lennox farm rhubarb, white chocolate & earl grey tart. We enjoyed the Trius Distinction Cab and Sauvignon Blanc so much we all went back next day and bought several, and have ordered more since. The ultimate dining experience fell short for me with the beef dinner. We asked for medium rare and the majority of the steak was medium and well done. I took one for the team and didn t say anything because all were truly enjoying the experience so why bother injecting negativity into a wonderful evening that topped off an outstanding day. I did not understand the way the menu for this dish was represented. It said Additional 15 per person , which translated to an extra $30 for my wife and I. That is all this steak was potentially worth, maybe, yet they believe it was necessary to add that amount to the 3 courses $82 per person. We are talking about a mediocre 16 oz strip loin steak at best, sliced down the middle and placed on two plates with one medium size carrot sliced in half and split between two plates. Ridiculous! Included was a small stick of battered short rib meat stick which was very salty according to all. The meal also fell short with some sort of corn meal sticks side dish which none of us enjoyed, nor understood. People who dish out this kind of money for a fine dining experience expect close to perfection, and as a result of how bad this steak and other things mentioned were, I give a rating of 2 for the main course meal, everything else was fine for us. We may not go back again but wouldn t discourage others from visiting. I visited the restaurant next day and shared my experience.

We went there for a Saturday girls day trip . We booked a winery tour which is 45 min. Our tour guide ( Lior, the best tour guide) . We enjoyed all the fun stuff he showed us and it was more like a conversation than a tour. Overall, we loved our experience there for girls day trip they have these cute pop ups for pictures and very chill vibes. The great selection of wine and restaurant if you are looking to extend your trip. Again. Thank you Lior for the great conversation. You definitely deserve a raise . Will definitely go back :)

My wife and I booked the private room to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with our immediate family of 16 guests. Perfect venue, impeccable service and great menu. Each course offered our guests a selection of different options. Everyone was satisfied with the great meal accompanied by excellent wine. The entire experience from initial booking to the final dessert was a seamless experience. Thank you Trius Winery and staff!

For a place visited by tourists and people celebrating special occasions, their servers need a class in charisma. Also note that if you cannot have alcohol (which could honestly be anyone with health issues, pregnant, DD etc.) they do not have mocktails and will snobbishly (and with a snicker) offer you a shirley temple when you ask. Additionally, as my family asked our server about menu items, we were met with a sort-of youve never dined at an expensive restaurant before? attitude - an attitude Ive never encountered at restaurants that are *actually* more expensive than Trius (Question was inquiring about one of the proteins in a dish because the description was unclear). At first I thought it was just my server but as I observed the others, I noticed they all walk around with this sort of head held high Im a server of a *winery* attitude that is neither appealing nor inviting. The plates are placed so heavily on the tables and are described with such a lack of enthusiasm that if someone told me they were being held against their will to work at Trius, Id believe them.

I used to love Trius! Ive been going here for over 20 years. I met my boyfriend here 7 years ago at the tasting bar. They have now closed that down and you are forced to now do a 45 minute tasting all the way in the back of the property. Imagine the money they will lose not having that bar that you can pump tasting through in 15-20 min walk ins. Not sure who their marketing people are but they are missing the boat.

Trius was the last stop of our My Wine Country tour. We were the only ones taking the tour during our time slot so it felt like a personalized experience. The tour was fun and we got a chance to take a lot of photos and to try the award winning Red The Icon . Bought a bottle at the gift shop as well. Also learned a few tips on how to properly sabre a bottle.

I recently booked a winery tour, anticipating a delightful experience, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The tour felt extremely rushed, leaving us little time to savor the wine and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We were eager to take pictures at their famous Instagram-worthy spots, but we were constantly hurried to the next location. While the winery itself is aesthetically stunning and I genuinely love their wine, the tour experience was disappointing. I wouldnt book the tour again, but I would still recommend their wine to anyone.

Came here for my fiancé s 30th birthday party. Our server Danny was FANTASTIC, he was so knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Danny did such a wonderful job, he truly deserves a raise!! Thank you Trius for a wonderful day.

Went for the Monday date night experience. The food was decent and the location / view is beautiful. The Burrata is very acidic, the shareable beef platter is misleading as it says share for 2 and $20 per additional person when it is really just $20 per person extra ontop of the already $65 per person for 3 course then + $40 for 2 people for the beef, the steak is small in size is said to be 16oz but was maybe 4oz between the 2, the white chocolate ganache was more of a hard chunk of white chocolate in a shell rather than a actual ganache and includes to many battling flavors with the chocolate orange ice cream.

This was our last stop for the sparkle festival! It was soooo great to have this be our last stop because we were able to squeeze into a wine tour last minute as well! The overall offering for the sparkle festival was ok, it was a cracker cone stuffed with an exorbitant amount of goats cheese. The tour was amazing. Definitely worth it! They offer so many different photo options, also a lovely array of wines and sparkling within the tour. Our guide Maddie was so sweet and accommodating!

A superb dining experience, with impeccable service, fabulous decor and brilliantly executed dishes. We were a family and the children (teens/pre-teens) also ate the adult table dhôte and loved it. The staff were equally attentive to them. A childrens menu is available for the youngest. The value for money is excellent and I recommend the food/wine pairing.

Alexander IS extremely knowledgeable and presented the information in a very entertaining way that is retainable. Definitely an amazing asset to any winery. I must also say that recognition to Julia who was also very personable and also quite knowledgeable and with their both a very personable character is definitely an asset at any winery.

Of the wineries we visited, it was the most disappointing, with none of the wines being very different from those we had already tasted. As a member of the wine club, the visit is worth it as the tasting is free.

This rating is fully due to the fact that for the tours, designated drivers and pregnant people have to pay the same price. When you are unable to drink either due to being pregnant or because you are staying sober to drive the group around yet have to pay the same price even though you will not be drinking the samples was very upsetting. I did not enjoy my experience.

We got the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Ive only ever sent food back once in my life, so this is a rare occurrence. When we received our steaks, having not looked at the menu prior, I thought we got pork. It was so dry and overcooked I mistook it for a pork chop at first, and had to clarify with the waitress. She confirmed that it was steak and supposed to be medium rare. She agreed that it was not right and insisted we send it back. So we did. After not too long we receive the new steaks. I cut it open in front of her and her and I look at each other... its way overcooked again. Its not even pink. Id be okay with medium, but when were paying this much money I feel like the food should be cooked as intended, and not well done. So we reluctantly sent it back again...... then a lady who I can only assume is the manager comes by and starts talking about how the lighting might be making it look like its overcooked (????). Okay, lovely service. Just tell the customer theyre wrong? Even though I didnt even have to ask the waitress, she knew it was overdone again too. So 3rd time we get our steak, and the waitress informs us that the chef gave us a different cut this time. It was full of fat and tendons and parts that were inedible, but at least it was medium rare? So we ate the meat around the inedible parts, and each had to leave part of the steak on the plate that we couldnt eat. I hate that we had such a bad experience at a place that was so lovely otherwise. I wouldnt come back to the restaurant, and I would not recommend to others. But Id come back for the wine tour which was lovely. Shame!

We visited this winery before Christmas and were blown away by hospitality, welcoming ambience and knowledgeable staff. Our wine tour guide was absolutely amazing and very passionate about techniques they use to make number 1 wine in Canada. We will recommend this place to all our friends and relatives. This place is a real Gem.

BEWARE The servers were pleasant and nice. But to go for lunch really pricy. The menu has 3 sections. Starter (soup or salad), main course 4 choices, desert. You pick 2 or 3 sections 2 is 69$ - 3 is 89$. You are paying for presentation. If this was dinner ok with a little more on the plates. But lunch the size was ok but at least 20$ over priced. Sorry but that is my opinion. And the thing I hate the most is when they give you the card machine and it starts 18%-25%-30%. We did a tour here on December 31, 2023 and we enjoyed our experience. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Locations we went through is totally Instagram worthy and the wine is top notch. We purchased couple bottles after the tasking. I recommend this winery and wine here.

Tastings for all of us, the wine club members and guests, are complimentary as part of their benefits and were in the upstairs tasting room (The Loft). I particularly enjoyed the Trius Brut and the Showcase Reisling Icewine. Well be back for sure, especially if were invited by wine club members! Hopefully, in warmer weather, to enjoy the extensive outdoor areas at Trius. My husband and celebrated our anniversary here last night for dinner. Sydney was most accommodating when helping us with our reservation and seating. She was friendly, professional and so very helpful. Michelle was our server and was amazing throughout the night. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks. Loved especially the duck and salmon appetizers as well as the cod main. Michelle was patient, helpful, giving us space yet being on hand whenever we had questions or needed something. A most memorable dinner! Will definitely return again!

It was lovely evening at Trius, we like the ambiance. The food was good but not the exceptional (some plates were missing flavour or wow factor). The wine pairing was awesome. Did we had good time? absolutely. Did it worth almost 300$ for 2 persons? not really, it was not that memorable that why we are giving a 4 stars and not a five.

Had a great tour and experience at Trius this weekend and one of the biggest reasons why was our tour guide Harry. He was funny, energetic and enthusiastic and made our day. I don t know if you can request guides when you book, but if you can, request Harry!

My husband and I visited Trius on a weekday during the summer for a tasting. I did the ice wine tasting and got to taste three different ice wines: riesling, vidal, and cabernat franc. All of them were delicious, but I enjoyed the riesling the best. This was my first time trying ice wine and the waitress took the time to explain the process of making it to me. We sat outside on a beautiful patio and the entire ambience was enjoyable. It is a bit expensive, but I think it was worth it. They also have a black glass tasting challenge, which we saw another table near us doing. They bring out three wines in black glasses so that you cannot see if it is a red or white and then based on your other senses, you are supposed to guess what kind of wine it is. Pretty cool and unique!

They graciously accommodated us with the best patio table overlooking the winery and a charming fountain. Our server, Chris, played a pivotal role in making our dining experience exceptional. Right from the moment we sat down, Chris engaged us in friendly conversation, establishing a warm rapport while expertly guiding us through the menu. His knowledge of each dish and his ability to recommend the perfect wine pairings were impressive. The food itself was nothing short of incredible, a testament to Chef Dodds talent in curating the perfect menu. We started with the smoked salmon appetizer, and the attention to detail in its presentation was remarkable. Every decoration and design element on the plate had a unique purpose for the palate, and each ingredient was expertly sliced and prepared. The salmon itself was generously portioned and possessed a delightful flavor that harmonized perfectly with the accompanying sauces. For our main courses, we selected the halibut and the steak. The halibut was, without a doubt, the best Ive ever had. It exhibited a flawless exterior crispiness, complemented by a creamy sauce, assorted mushrooms, potatoes, and greens. We concluded our meal with the peanut butter mille feuille for dessert, which met and exceeded our expectations, delivering a delectable finale to our culinary journey. My wife and I had dinner here on September 3rd. We were in the area for the weekend and managed to get a reservation here. The grounds are gorgeous and the restaurant is beautiful. We had the pleasure of being served by Walter. He made recommendations for wine based on our dishes and we were very pleased. The food was delicious - some of the best we ve had in the Niagara region and the kitchen staff did a great job explaining each dish, how it was crafted, and the flavours. 10 out of 10 for the food and experience - the real star of the show was Walter making sure we were taken care of.

Cathlene is rude and ignorant and profiles guests. Despite holding the title of Team Lead, she appears to lack substantial leadership training. Its unsurprising to learn that her negative demeanor and treatment of guests, particularly those from diverse backgrounds, have been noted by others. My suggestion is to consider replacing individuals with outdated perspectives and instead introduce new, skilled individuals who can contribute to the success of your brand.

It was my wife and I second visit to Trius Resturant and it been perfect both times. The food is astonishing. Great flavour, perfectly cooked and the dishes are truly unique. Its one of the restaurants that we will be coming back again and again. Keep up the good work!

I went with 5 of my friends plus two other groups. Chelsea did the tour and she was amazinggg, we loved her. She delivered all the information in a receivable way and answered our questions well. We taste tested like sommeliers trying to distinguish notes which was fun. She has a great personality and we hope to see her again alsoo for any of my girlies that want to wear heels definitely comfortable ones youll be walking and one of the tour stops has a ramp so take your time when walking! Its giving 9% grade incline

This was our 2nd visit to Trius, and as per many other reviews, the atmosphere and staff were equally complimentary and welcoming. Our server was first class and extremely attentive. Now for the not so good....if you have a robust appetite beware, the portions are unbelievably small and come at price tag thats hard to justify. Yes, the quality is good, but not exceptional and for $$$$ charged somewhat unreasonable. I was tempted to give 3 stars, but the overall package is still very good.

It was the first of the many wineries we visited in Niagara region. The tour guide was excellent and gave detailed explanation. The wines we tried during the tour were really good.

We had the deck appetizer, and I had the pickerel dinner. It was absolutely amazing. But even before that, we had bread with incredible Trius wine butter. OMG! Besides, absolutely fabulous food, all of the servers were incredible! Without great service, the food wouldn t have tasted nearly as good I m sure. Thank you Truis for an amazing dinner. Can t wait to come back again!

Trius Winery is beautiful inside out. The tours are fun and informative with many different types of wines, a mirror room, and the cotton candy at the end. The restaurant is really good with nice ambience and excellent dishes. The downsides may be that there aren t many parking spaces, and the unfriendly server at the restaurant.

After such a great experience at Gretzky Estate next door, it was really disappointing to how Trius was organized. Very poor flow and explanation of how to enjoy the property.

They ignored our table. Literally stole 2 chairs from under my friend s butt. Asked us to leave before we paid our bills. Seated a group while we were tasting. Reserved 3mo in advance and ignored our reso day off. Membership for photos???? Will not be returning to this garbage, performative establishment. They refused to send us our bills, had to go to retail to pay our bills.

A friend and I came in here for a tasting after a nightmare of a wine tour experience the day beforehand elsewhere. Our experience here made up for it and more. The staff member Erin was witty, informative and relatable. Definitely recommend stopping in here!!

On Oct 18, my husband and I were really looking forward to this place. We saw it on YouTube and was very interested. We walked into the tasting area and waited to be seated. Nobody said anything to us, everybody just walked by us. The gentleman behind the bar walked around us. No greeted us. So we left.

Ive heard a lot of good things about the restaurant, but the wine tasting part should absolutely be avoided. Its a real joke. I have visited a lot of vineyards in Europe, as well as the United States and Canada and have never been so disappointed. We had reservations because it is very popular. Once there we were seated at a table and told to choose our wines straight away. 5 minutes later we were served our 3 wines at the same time, white, red, ice wine. No description of what we were about to drink, no suggestions based on our tastes, nothing. Not even a smile. By the time I got to my ice wine it was already room temperature. We also had cheese to accompany our wine. It was served to us in its packaging directly from Great Britain, not even a Canadian cheese. Follow my advice, there are a lot of good vineyards in Niagara On The Lake, avoid Trius, its a waste of time and money.

The food options are limited but quality of almost anything we ordered was exceptional. Specially the bread and butter was super fresh and enjoyable to have it with the high quality wine... However the decaf espresso martini was not decaf and I had hard time to sleep that night.

We had dinner here and had a great meal, we tried several of the estate s wines and really enjoyed them, especially liked their Trius red, a lovely Bordeaux style blend

Beautiful winery, though can be busy if you don t reserve ahead as it s a popular tour destination. I took the Trius tour and our guide was awesome, taking us to various scenic spots in premises and we got to sample some of their signature wines. We even got to witness a champagne style wine get owned with a sword. If you are in the area, do visit, as it s one of the areas establishing wineries and well worth a try.

Its very nice place to take a tour throughout the winery. The food was great and the best service. The wine is very nice and smooth very nice place to buy red wine

Nice setting, service excellent nice touch when chef comes out and explains each course you ordered. Just wish food was just a little hotter when it arrived. Would highly recommend.

Had a wonderful dinner at Trius last night! Their prefixed menu is $69 for 2 courses or $99 for 3, and you will not be disappointed! The service was outstanding as well. 5+ stars!

Had a great dinner at Trius restaurant, we did the 2 course menu; burrata and soup with smoked salmon to begin and as mains the Cornish hen and pickerel fish. Everything was great, in my personal taste I loved both starters but from the mains I liked the hen most. Very tender and great flavour! Fish was also excellent but I was missing some punch in the flavour but this is personal opinion. Definitely, we will come back it worth the price!

Trius is one of our local favourite spots to eat out. The service is stand out, Braden is the best server in NOTL. The cocktails are special, and the setting is quite possibly the best in town, combining both comfort and glam in one seamless space. The menu is always changing based on the season, offering a fresh approach each and every time we dine there.

Known for its exceptional sparkling wines, Trius Winery was the perfect backdrop for their reunion. The sun-drenched day began with Wyatt leading his friends through the sprawling vineyards. Each step they took was accompanied by the soft rustling of grapevines, whispering secrets of the land. Wyatt, with his refined palate, shared tales of grapes transformed into the finest wines. Their first destination was the renowned main restaurant of Trius. However, fate had other plans. The wait for a table was unexpectedly long, stretching into a week. Unwilling to delay their joy, the group, led by Wyatt, made a spontaneous decision to head to the tasting patio instead. The patio, a hidden gem of Trius, greeted them with open arms and an array of delectable snacks. Each bite was a celebration of local flavors, perfectly crafted to accompany the wines. Wyatts eyes sparkled as he introduced his friends to the world of Trius sparkling wines. The bottles popped, and the effervescence of the wine mirrored their laughter. As the day reached its zenith, the heat of the sun was at its peak. Wyatt had another surprise - Frosa. This frozen rosé was Trius answer to a summers day. Each sip was like a cool breeze, bringing smiles and relief from the warmth. The hours slipped by, filled with stories, toasts, and the clinking of glasses. Wyatt, Matt, Lauren, Shannon, and Zack found themselves immersed in the magic of Trius, a place where time seemed to stand still, yet every moment was savored. As the day turned to dusk, the friends raised their glasses for one last toast, not just to the wine, but to friendship, to moments that sparkle, and to the memories they created at Trius Winery. It was a day where every sip told a story, and every laughter echoed in the vineyards, a testament to the joy that good wine, good food, and great friends could bring. And so, Wyatt and his friends left Trius, their hearts as full as their glasses had been, already dreaming of their next visit to this haven of sparkling delights.

This may probably be in the top 5 meals I ve ever had in my life. Maybe even top 3. Firstly, the facilities here are absolutely beautiful and we received top notch service from our waiter. Secondly, my boyfriend and I got the tasting menu: Duck Egg and the Burrata for starter, and these dishes were absolutely divine. I literally licked my burrata plate clean it was seriously the best burrata I had in my life. I wasn t much of a burrata or cheese girl beforehand but now I m a big fan. It came with this crunchy salami and tomato/ herb juice which really hit the spot. It was a work of art! For mains we got the Duck Tasting and the Cornish Hen. Both were again, mind blowing. The presentation was chef s kiss and just wow. Each bite was a burst of flavours that complimented each other so well. For dessert we got the mint chocolate tart which again had me in tears because of how good it was. I am a big mint chocolate lover though! We then finished off with their sugar cookies, they were the perfect last bite! We both left feeling extremely full aha. I ll be coming back for wine tasting + hopefully trying the charcuterie board and gnocchi next time!
