Sabad's is a small town restaurant operating since 1955. The menu consists of mostly Italian inspired cuisine. A full bar focusing on wine and cocktails. Private room available for reservations of up to 25 people.
I’m a chicken parm fan and theirs was some of the best I’ve had! Everyone was quite happy with their meals so give it a try!
Bring your own vinyl night was a blast, hoping they do it again! Elevated menu and classy dining area.
It is a good place for a family dinner. The fettuccine alfredo was delicious but not the chicken parmigiana.
I'm a Northern New York native and a foodie that's traveled a little bit. I was hesitant to try this place out but I'm seriously so happy I did! The food was excellent, it was very relaxing and comfortable, and the service was phenomenal! I had the Chicken Caprese Sandwich which was a special with fries. This meal also came with some really nice Garlic Bread and some Cabbage Noodles! I paid $23 with a soda and the quality of everything definitely outshines other restaurants in the area. You may ask WHY the Cabbage Noodles!? Well it's because Sabad's was a Hungarian American Restaurant and the new owners have kept some of the old traditions! I loved it and I think you will too!
What excellent service and an amazing dinner ! The prime rib and steak seleciton was to perfection. Absolutely delicious. We have been to many steak houses, expensive restaurants and this meal outdid them all. We came as a family, at the recommendation of some of the Potsdam hockey team players . The men appreciate good portions and we weren't disappointed. We've already recommended to friends /family in Canada. Thank you for the great service !
For starters our waitress Evie was amazing. She was very attentive, polite and professional. I have to say the Garlic bread which I didn't take a picture of was possibly the best bread starter in the North Country. They have to be respected for their solid dedication to honoring the original sabads by offering their version of the relish tray. From the description it sounds like it changes but ours had a Hungarian cream cheese spread that was absolutely delicious and a Kalmata tapenade that was very good. For die hard original sabads fans I will admit the cabbage noodles are not Shiney Sabads recipe but they are better than other recreations I've seen in the area. Their hand cut fries are actually crispy which is rare and my prime rib was cooked exactly how I asked. And yes I did have to pay extra to get mashed potatoes which I didn't need because I was so full I couldn't finish my entree but they were worth it. The prime rib comes with a garlic aioli that's clearly house made. Oh and the spinach artichoke dip is amazing. Hands down best restaurant meal I've had lately.
Went for a date night for the first time under new management, and we were very impressed. The restaurant was super quiet (very surprising for a Saturday night), so perhaps it affected the service a bit, but the server was super attentive, constantly checking in, making sure we were taken care of. Fried mozzarella appetizer was pretty good, and the cabbage noodles were a pleasant surprise. Steak was cooked perfectly, something a lot of other places get wrong, the homemade bleu cheese was a nice touch too. It is a little pricey, but worth it for a nice night out...definitely not somewhere I'd eat regularly, though.
The service was very attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. The rainbow trout was perfectly done. The atmosphere was fine dining yet still homey. I'd recommend this to anyone in the north country looking for a fine dining experience without having to drive a long ways.
Great experience!
The Chicken Riggies are a must have!!
The food was horrible and the service was terrible and not good. Too expensive for dinner. Don t recommend going here.
Good food, friendly staff. Food was ready quickly.
Service was good and server was very nice . Food was ok but the steak tasted off but may of been a bad steak . great dessert!
I had the Southwest Burger special. It was cooked perfectly. I also very much enjoyed my Lemon Drop Martini.
Staff is always pleasant and attentive, the menu offerings diverse and delicious! Parking: Open lot that can accommodate a good number of vehicles
Would never venture back, and thats the opinion of all 6 of us that dined, When you order a 38 dollar steak , You only get a steak, sides separate. Then they serve it cut in strips. Which makes it cool quick. I ordered Alfredo fettuccine with asparagus, added chicken. Expecting a grilled chicken. Came out plain heavy breaded burnt to crisp. The chicken had a old grease smell. Same with my friend who ordered chicken parm , service was not good. Waitress was snippy , and when we told her we probably will not return. She shrugged her shoulders and said oh well. Unbelievable,
Absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and our waitress was amazing!
Excellent food and service.
Meal was excellent. Miss the perch. Waitress did a fantastic job!
The Prime Rib, vodka pasta w sausage, cabbage noodles, fresh garlic bread and relish tray were absolutely delicious! The food and ambience are great! We will definitely come back!
A little hidden gem of the North Country! Food is fantastic with lots of local ingredients, everything was fresh and delicious. Really cozy and amazing service.
Great service
Sabads is a wonderful family restaurant in Norfolk that offers unique items not found anywhere else. It also offers some unique flavors influenced by its Eastern European heritage. We always have a great experience when we make the trip from Ogdensburg.
Wow. Great tasting food. Worth the trip from Potsdam, NY. Give it a try.
We had a reservation for 2, and were seated so close to other customers. This was on Valentine s Day. We will not go back to this restaurant!
Parking: Adequate and easy enough for non-handicap people. For seniors, dont use ramp (a challenging exertion), use side door.
Incredible atmosphere and staff! Everything that we ve tried on the menu has been absolutely delicious with layers and layers of flavor!! Bonus that it s family friendly too. Can t wait to go back again!
Food was average, 9 oz steak was okay sides were separate had to pay for had three drinks on my bill only had two Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp is cement kind of steep
Great service and a great meal. First time there with new owners. Will be back soon.
Many fond memories of eating old world european food here with family, but recently since change of owners, the menu is standard italian fare and not nearly the quality it used to be. Cabbage noodles are to die for, Chicken Tony was also delicious.
We had a delicious meal. Thanks
Always great food and fabulous service. It could be considered pricey, but when you want to indulge yourself, this is worth it.
Always get a great meal...
We come here pretty frequently and are always pleased! P.S... Cabbage Noodles
Great service with great food. Any time we have gone we have been more than pleased
Great atmosphere, great dining.

Not very good
If you are looking for a great dinner for a reasonable price you have to try this place. Friendly owners and a great staff makes your dinner experience one to remember.
It is a shadow of what it once was
Without a doubt my favorite place to eat.
Food always good and plenty of it. Staff friendly and accommodating for special request.
Delicious food..wonderful waite staff..definitely eat at Sabads again.
Consistently delicious
A jaded NYer. Easily the best restaurant around. Not great by any measure, but far, far better than anything in Massena. Nice atmosphere, competent staff and the food is pretty good. Onion soup was fine. The veal Marsala was a little bland, but cooked nicely and a generous portion. The linguini side was al dente and the sauce homemade. Might go back again tonight and try the the veal parmigiana.
Excellent meal!!
Amazing food amazing service!
Always spot on and owners and servers are the best. Thank you
The food was amazing..$$$ but worth every penny
This restaurant received one of my rare 5 star ratings because everything was perfect. Food, ambience, service were all top notch. The selection on the menu was excellent, the courses well thought out and timed perfectly. They were delicious, seasoned to perfection. We were never rushed. I marveled that I had grown up in Lisbon yet never managed to make it to this restaurant before. But I will be sure to return.
Sabads restaurant was as always a delightful experience, we had 14 people in our party and everyone had a terrific meal!!! My wife Robin and I are frequent visitors there and always have a good meal
What a great place to have here in The North Country!

This restaurant has the best food and service. We had a party of 20 and all food was served the same time and hot. The restaurant let us do separate checks and no mistakes were made by waitresses. Food was served promptly and I give this place a thumbs up
Excellent food and excellent service.
Food and service was excellent ! All 20 meals were perfect! Thank you !

One of the best restaurants in northern New York.
Always a great time and great prices
Best veal parmesan I have ever had!
Awesome prime rib!
Best place ever. Had family in town, decided on a late dinner, called to see if they were still serving, mind you we had a party of 10, and they were. Very accommodating and great waitress. Food excellent as always. We will return time and time again. Thank you Sabads.
The food and drinks here are absolutely to die for, and the ambience is amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal as well. The real star was the coconut cake, though. I dont think Ive ever had anything more delicious!
Excellent as always! Yum!
Good food
Excellent prime rib, my partner really enjoyed the Tonys Chicken. Service was perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

Good steak dinner....
The quality of the food has gone downhill and our server was M.I.A a lot.
Eat there every year when visiting relatives
Great food and the service from Kaylee was great.
Good food and service.
Our favorite place to eat they never disappoint us! Love it there!
Always great food, nice atmosphere, great staff.
Excellent food for the couple of times I have been there. Wait staff were helpful & friendly. Pleasant atmosphere
Chicken Marsala is the best Ive had!
Let me first say that I have been to Sabads three times and have been served some delicious food. Some of the good: a relish tray to start the meal with a couple of delicious slaws. Very tasty! The cabbage noodles are pretty tasty too, though the noodles tend to be a bit mushy. Some of their pasta dishes have been very good as well. The garlic knots are delicious but a bit on the greasy side. The service has been generally competent and friendly. The Sabads experience is certainly a mixed bag, however, and the establishment falls into a category of restaurant that drives me CRAZY: the place where you order an entree and then pick from a list of sides that at best have no relationship to the entree and at worst clash with it terribly! The last time I was there I ordered some veal dish with a sauce. The dish is just the center of the plate, no starch included. Well, I suppose Ill get the side of spaghetti since that will go nicely with the saucy veal, I say to myself, not realizing that I have just made a HORRIBLE mistake! (Though I probably should have known, since Id like to think that Im a smart enough guy. Of course this is the same guy that ordered Eggs Benedict at some crappy diner years ago not realizing that they obviously will serve me some DUMPSTER FIRE from-a-mix hollandaise sauce that I wouldnt feed to my waste of space dogs...wait, where was I?) Yes, Sabads and the I dont care what you ordered for an entree or about how stupid you will feel eating your overcooked spaghetti with marinara on top when you have a piece of calf slathered with gravy that is practically BEGGING for a starch message that their menu is giving me. I hate when menus are built this way and would greatly prefer a menu where each plate is composed as it should be served--if the dish has a sauce it should be served with an appropriate starch! Toppings, garnishes, and sides should all be integrated into a cohesive whole that is meant to maximize the diners enjoyment. Anyway, if you are fine with this style of restaurant, Sabads probably wont annoy you in this way and it is possible youll actually quite like it!
Went to dinner with friends first time I have been there would definitely recommend and will be going back!
Top shelf restaurant great food great service
Our family went there for a get together. Food was good. This is a little bit of an upscale place. You get bread and some relish items before your meal. Alot of us ordered the chicken cordon blue special. It was homemade and fantastic. Portions are pretty big. No burgers like I said an upscale place.Prices go along with being homemade food and not already made just heated up. We would go there again
Just ok. Service was ok, food was not worth price.
Delicious
Excellent loved it
Amazing food and palce! Definitely I recommend this restaurant!
Excellent!
Awesome food and service as always
This place is a personal favorite. Good owners ( Kathy is a sweet heart) and lots of amazing food!!! We love sabads!!!
New Years Eve reservations for 17 adults , we were squashed into a space for 10 adults. One half of the room was in a deep sweat the other half of the room froze. We were served over done and over peppered , noodles, gross, not one of us ate them. My order of chicken breast was dry, and see thru for 19.99, baked potato must have come from the dollar menu at McDonalds. My entree was not touched, I kept thinking this was a mistake, nope see dried out see thru chicken breast was it for 19.99. My Our one pleasant experience was our waitress, she went above and beyond. I went home and had peanut butter sandwich.
Very good Hungarian cuisine
The food is great. Comfortable and cozy inside. Could use a refresh, but I dont think anyone who goes there cares because they love the food so much and understand that the pictures on the wall dont determine the quality of the food. And of course the service! Another reason people look forward to going here-the service is excellent.
Nice, simple-hearted Italian. Great cabbage noodles, and good food overall
Have been coming here for family celebrations for over 20 years. Wonderful food and great service. The bar tender is great. Highly recommend.
Great food at a reasonable price. You will not leave hungry.
Prime rib is always excellent.
Best food around. Service is excellent.
Great
