This place is a local legend. Service is friendly and inviting, food is to die for - incredible authentic Thai cuisine in a beautiful, elevated dining atmosphere. Best general tao and pad thai Ive ever had. Accommodated my friend with shellfish allergy no problem. Soups of the day are also delicious every time I eat here. 11/10 if youve never eaten here, I feel sorry for you. Visiting the area for work and was happy to find a restaurant with vegetarian options that was open on a Sunday. Ordered the Thai red curry with veg and tofu and it was full of fresh veggies. Service was very friendly too.

One of the best restaurants North Bay has to offer! I used to work at Daves Green Papayas original take out location at 1 Lakeshore Drive. A few times a year I do treat myself to the odd dish or two and to catch up and order some of my favorites (which is hard when you like every single menu item). The food is freshly prepared daily, a lot of preparation and time and dedication is poured into the secrets of this successful expanded business! The owners are friendly and hardworking and the food is fantastic!

I ordered a soup (7.50$) to start my meal and said I need more time to figure out what else I am going to take. He came back to me and said if you take something else there will be no extra charge. I didnt really understand what he was saying. After finish and paying I asked again what he told me: If I would had taken only the soup there would be an extra charge for using the restaurant. Hello??? Never ever heard about something like that. Ridiculous.

Absolutely delicious food which I treat myself to sporadically as we live an hour away. Try the Tomato/Ginger/Beef dish and the Classic Pad Thai is always a go to. Dont skip the spring rolls which are a generous size. Im hungry again thinking about the meal.

Went to DGP for the first time in 2019 and have been a regular ever since. The foods is always great, the portions are very reasonable, and the staff is always friendly and kind. Im still obsessed with the spicy thai red curry with seafood and their spring rolls. The crunch on those things is insane. Love it!

Just got home from here after treating my Mom for her birthday, and just had to take a moment to waddle over to my computer and say, Yummmmm! Im so full. The food tasted fresh, the service was excellent, they offered to open the doors early for me, and there was a lot of personal attention. I want them to adopt me.

I love the Pad Thai

Worst experience that I had encounter in a restaurant. One of their rule is no sharing of food and if you re going to get caught they re gonna charge you 3 dollars and they have mandatory tip with a minimum of 15%. We don t have freedom of choice here in this restaurant, tips are supposedly not to be against our will. Foods are okay. I don t recommend this restaurant at all.

A hidden gem! I was here for my first time with some girlfriends before a comedy show. The restaurant was clean and had a friendly and fabulous dining vibe to it. The food was absolutely delicious, with plentiful portion sizes. I find alot of restaurants hold back the protein in my dish, but this restaurant didnt hold back. I ended up ordering take-out before I left to take home for my family. The staff was very personable and professional. I look forward to coming back to share the experience with my family. Definitely my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is really good. I knew when I came here my first time, seeing the staff hand rolling the spring rolls, that this place is legit! Ive tried multiple items on the menu, but I find myself always leaning towards the Pad Thai, and the General Tso chicken. And a spring roll! This is one of my favorite restaurants in North Bay.

Small portions, expensive food. Ordered Cantonese chow mein (shrimp) the meal was 23 dollars and hardly had any shrimp or noodles. Paid a extra 3 dollars for the shrimp one but you barely get any

This place was great!! The food was so flavourful and was probably the best pad Thai I ve personally had in Canada and I ve had a lot of pad Thai! We found the place thru a recommendation by a local store owner and I m so grateful she told us about it. The portions are also big enough for leftovers. And the people who work there were so nice and easy to talk to and gave us more recommendations for more things to do in North Bay. Don t know when I ll be back in that area but when I do I will definitely be stopping there again

NOT AUTHENTIC ASIAN cuisine. Over-priced. Shrimp tempura and wonton soup are ok but the main dish which we waited for about an hour came out TERRIBLE. Trio mushrooms with shrimp is swimming in its sauce which I expected to be a stir-fried kind of dish. Chicken teriyaki is way to SALTY and didn t use teriyaki sauce instead soy sauce that soaked my rice . For a person with kidney problem like me I just can t eat that. I was just so nice not to say anything that evening. I just pay the bill and left but deep inside I was so mad because we waited for so long and yet never even satisfied what is my expectations. NEVER AGAIN

The was not the best, food taste off was not enjoyable at all. It didnt taste as I remembered well it kind of tasted more like was frozen Chinese food like it had been paired months ago and then just reheated or at least this was our experience I will not recommend to anyone how asked where to order from it s not what it was at its former Glory And I m a fat guy so when a fat guy says it you should know

Fantastic food! Weve eaten here twice and it has not disappointed. The restaurant has a nice relaxing atmosphere and the owners are so nice, hard working which shows in the quality. This will definitely be a regular spot!

Overrated and expensive. General Tao has too much breading and not enough meat. Korean beef has a tasty sauce but overdone. Waited too long for pickup. They seem to have a limit on how many orders they take in a day.

Daves Green in North Bay is one of the best thai food place Ive been to in a long time. The classic Pad thai, which included chicken and shrimp was spot on. I cant wait to go back and try other menu items. The multiple awards hung on the wall are no surprise after you taste the food. I will return and suggest you do the same.

This used to be our go to for a night off from cooking. The let down with our food tonight was so bad we will not be ordering from here again. Absolutely awful. Its actually difficult to believe it came from Green Papaya!

takeout portion of General Tao not a full size (often hit&miss on takeout), & not as good as usual. tango mango was dry and not the usual, more filler veggies....somewhat disappointed. usually my favorite restaurant for takeout, but the inconsisteny in portion size is starting to affect that.

It took us over 1 and a half hours to get our food after ordering. Our waiter was nice but the wait was extremely long. The food was good but not worth the wait.

The last time I was here the coconut soup was so spicy I was litterally choking. I had to take my glass to the waitress to get more water while choking and eyes tearing! The owner refused to make another soup. Id had this soup several times before with no issue. Over the years the quality and portion sizes have slipped while the prices inflate. Its really a shame because Green Papaya used to be my favorite asian. Ive also had issues with takeout.

The egg rolls were overly sweet with cabbage, normal egg rolls have bean sprouts and 5 spice and are much better. The overall taste of the rest of the meal was tasteless.

Took my sister and her husband here last Sunday and we all LOVED it. We had the most friendly server and even though we showed up at 730 (they close st 830) they happily sat us and gave us ample time to decide what to order. Server offered helpful suggestions. Food was quick to come out and DELICIOUS. Also the portions are super generous, I ate 2 leftover meals from my food!

My husband and I went to the Green Papaya today for the first time and we were not disappointed. Simone, our waitress was friendly and accommodating. Our food was freshly cooked to perfection. The shrimp was generous and the batter was very crispy. The Cantonese Chow Mein was to die for. We will definitely be going back.

As an Asian, I don t think their food is authentic. Not even close.

Place is gross. I dont understand how it has a such high rating. No care for food quality. The fried rice was way over cooked that was such a tasteless unseasoned mush. The meat quality is very poor. Whats even more upsetting is the prices. Do your self a favour or youll remember my review after you yak.

This is my favorite place to order Chinese food in North Bay. Always fresh and large portions. Inside the restaurant is very classy yet casual. Priced just right you wont be disappointed.

Really great food! Ive been there for lunch on several occasions now. Great diversity in the menu for a price that cant be argued with. Cooks do a great job everytime and the waiting staff is super accommodating.

Just had an early dinner at Daves. The food was very good, we had spring rolls, followed by soups ( I particularly like the hot and sour my husband ordered). My husband had Pad Thai, and I had the Tri Mushroom dish. Portions are generous enough we will be having the same for lunch tomorrow! Friendly staff and good service. The price was very reasonable. The only negative, in an almost empty restaurant, why place people right by the bar where they get to hear all the conversations from the staff. Not that some of the conversation was not interesting :)

The best General Tao Ive ever tasted. In fact, the best Asian cuisine Ive had hands down. I wish Sudbury had carefully prepared food like this. A must try, even if its a bit more expensive than the other places in North Bay.

Had the Tom Tom soup, waitress placed my soup on table and I noticed a hair. She told me it was probably lemon grass. It was a hair, then Im told that it could be my hair or hers, did I want a new soup! The bowl was just placed in front of me, dont think my hair had time to even hit the bowl if it was mine. I was given a new bowl, the soup was good. But the hairgate definitely left but a bad taste in my mouth.

Dave s Green Papaya is s cozy restaurant featuring fabulous Oriental and Tai food. Simone will greet you with a smile and warmly welcome you. All the staff are amazing and the food will excite your palate. Best tempura I have ever had, pad tai awesome and authentic, curry choices excellent, best General Tao on the planet. Lunch specials can t be beat!! The prices are not cheap but neither are the portions. You get value for your money and the quality well worth the price. Best restaurant in North Bay!!

I always get the bento box which is great. Its a nice place. We always call and order ahead of time because of the limited number of time to have lunch during work hours. They are very nice and always have our food prepared on time.

The food was decent (although over priced and nothing to write home about) but the server or owner tried to charge us for a glass of wine we didnt order. When he brought the bill he just laid the little black folder closed in front of us and verbally told me the total. I checked the bill before paying and saw the extra charge. Its not like it was a busy night for it to be an honest mistake. The table next to us had an issue with their bill too. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING HERE!

Shrimp Singapore nearly 20 bucks, overcooked noodles. Ginger chicken watered down coconut milk, chicken broth like soup. Burnt coconut on coconut shrimp, sauce was way too sweet. The only thing I liked was the Korean beef cucumber mango salad. We havent ordered from here in a long time, dont plan on doing it again anytime. Thanks, but no thanks.

If you want your Pad Thai to taste great, your in the wrong place. The dish was incredibly americanized. All the flavours were off and the food was very salty. My Thai Palace on main street is way better.

Kinda expensive for both the quality and quantity. I thought it was better at the old location. I wont be returning.

Daves Green Papaya is a fantastic restaurant although my review is for eat in only as Ive never tried their take out menu. I always get the hot & sour soup and the general tao. Great place to bring a group of poeple as each dish is pretty much monotonous flavor so sharing is best. The menu is 99% great, only thing I dont like is the Mongolian beef, its was fatty and odd in texture.

Pad thai sucks. Noodles overcooked, chicken had burnt spots, scrambled egg was chewy and came in large chunks. Spring rolls had chewy meat in them, not appetizing. No free refill on pop ( wasnt told). Best part of meal was the fortune cookie.

Pretty horrible thai food. If I could give them less stars, I would. Reccomend My Thai Palace instead. The pad thai was so american-ized, might as well have had bbq sauce on it. The green curry tasted like creme of broccoli soup. Not worth the $$.

It was awful the egg rolls tasted like they were sour and when you opened it up it was all black and looked rotten. The chicken balls were so hard it was like they were a few days old, and the rice was so clumpy no way it was fresh.

I went to Dave Green Papaya for dinner with a friend. The food was very tasty and the portions were the perfect size. Our server Maddy was very nice in explaining some of the dishes in more detail as well as topping our water and tea the whole night. In addition the owner came by to make sure the food was good. It s a nice little restaurant that s very reasonably priced, I highly recommend you try it out.

The pad thai is un real!! the coconut shrimp is wonderful as well. Staff is lovely and the atmosphere is great. Such an amazing addition to north bay!

The food is very good, but the service was not very good at all. Went on a sunday night with a group of 6, and had a beer before my meal came. My glass was empty as was my water while I watched the waitress standing at the bar area staring off into space, or wandering back and forth to the other table (there were only three tables occupied at the time), one other group of 5 and a table of 2. The server mixed up our orders, served a completely wrong order, and when it was brought to her attention asked do you want to just have that anyway? and then plain forgot to serve included rice with one of the dishes. Im being kind giving 3 stars due to the terrible service.

Very good green curry, balanced spice preserving the essential flavours. Cold rolls are great as well, overall nice experience.

They food is always fantastic, the staff are friendly and approachable. My favourite dishes are beef Shanghai Noodles, General Taos chicken, Korean BBQ Beef, and Spring Rolls. The portion sizes are enough to share with several people.

Excellent food, good service. We started with the chicken satay which was fresh and came with very tasty peanut sauce. For mains we shared the classic chow main, beef red curry, pad thai and spicy basil stir fry with eggplant and chicken. Everything was very good. It took a little bit to get our mains but the wait was worth it. We would come back.
