It's only take out. Good food fast service. Always consistent
First off I got this from skip the dishes. Secondly, this actually pains me to make this review. Second, I am 52 years old. I have had Chinese food from dozens of places. I've ate in. Gone to buffets. Had it delivered. I've never eaten at a place that I would say is terrible or inedible. Not once. The worst rating I could give all the other places was a "good/meh." Lastly, this place hurt my heart as much as my wallet. Check out the picture I included. Spring roll: they ran out and simply replaced them with egg rolls. Lol Egg roll: edible. Used canned bean sprouts. So although flavour was right the filling was like chewing wet hay. Chicken Balls: would have been an 8/10 of the chicken inside wasn't smaller than a 1 inch cube. Beef Broccoli: the beef was light gray. It was squishy in the mouth. The pieces were slimy. Slight sour taste. The sauce seemed really off. The broccoli in the dish was fresh looking. I didnt dare eat it after the beef bite. 0/10 General Tso Chicken: sauce seemed fresh but the recipe was nothing like you expect. First off there was a massive amount of paprika in th dish. It doesn't even go in it and it's all you could taste. Second, the breading on the chicken looked nice. Upon taking a bite, the chicken inside was barely anything and had been completely dried up from deep frying. This happens when you use leftover cooked chicken instead of fresh to be fair, if the paprika was left out, the sauce would have been pretty good. It was hot tangy and sweet. Singapore Noodles: not a hint or whiff of the signature Chinese 5 spice and yellow curry that you expect. Usually this dish appears deep yellow. This one was dark brown. Tasted like it was seasoned with soy sauce mostly. Also. This dish is made with rice vermicelli, not angel hair wheat pasta. Chicken Vegetables: they were honestly good. Fresh. Lots of chicken. Crispy veggies. Great flavour. There were more dishes as I spent $150 but I'm leaving them out as they have no details. The rest was 6/10. I feel bad but they need to know. I always give reviews. And almost always they are good. I hate having to give a bad review.
Have been customer at golden china for years. ordered a dinner for two today and it was inedible. Couldn't chew the pork, the rice was so salty, the chow mein had just chow mean and huge hunks of salty chicken. Called and was told to bring it back. We live at the other end of town. Like we have nothing else to do. Quality of their food and service is quickly going downhill.
You know when you see restaurant that looks questionable from the street that the food is going to be awesome! We ordered: Chicken Balls & Fried Rice BBQ Pork Fried Rice Singapore Noodles Beef & Mushrooms Egg & Spring Rolls Szechuan Chicken General Taos Chicken Everything was awesome, some or the better Chinese food I've had in awhile. Large portions, and reasonable prices! They provided plenty of fortune cookies and aux sauces. If I'm in North Bay again, I wouldn't hesitate to order from here.
1st time eating their food yesterday. It was disgusting. The Cantonese chow mein was floating in grease. Egg roll filing was not fresh. The breaded shrimp were actually pretty good. The place is a dive, is filthy and it stinks/smells too. We tried to eat the food but most of it went in the garbage. Never again!!!
I am 65 years old from Southern Ontario, and Golden China, NB has the best chicken fried rice, chicken balls and egg rolls I've had since I was a teenager!
Most of the food from here is great, with the exception of their deep fried wontons, they taste and smell like a dirty barn, like do they not taste things before putting them on a menu.
Used Skip The Dishes, always get good food here, love the mushroom beef bring a whole mushroom, the General Tao is great and so is the Sweet and Sour Chicken balls 😏

Gross, overcooked and cold
Wonton soup: totally tasteless. This is not hyperbole. It had no flavour. Had to add soy sauce just to give it some sort of taste.

Fast pick-up or delivery of good food. Best bean sprout egg rolls!
Food was not bad, got here fast and hot, most items okay. Only issue is I ordered Szechuan Beef not Szechuan green peppers with 5 pieces of beef. 11$ for a bowl of spicy green peppers is kinda a rip off.
First time ordering from here and I was very impressed with the prices, quality, and portions. I still cant believe how fast it came to my door!

Golden China is a small local Chinese Food restaurant for Takeout only. Golden China has good food! Huge variety and portions of choices to choose from & side dishes are delicious as well. We had dinner for 2 and it was awesome.
Good tasting Chinese food at a good price point
Iv been a regular costumer for as long as I can remember and I really dont have not one complaint. The food is awesome and full of flavor with great portion sizes. Most times I can get full twice off of the Combos Its money well spent... I always recommend them to everyone . Thanks for the full bellys over the years. I give at HUGE .

Beyond disappointed. This used to be an amazingly delicious place to get Chinese food. Not anymore. They have clearly changed cooks, food was very, very bland. The chicken pieces tasted like rubber, and my beef and broccoli was beef and mixed vegetables....Not broccoli.
The food, while not the most attractive, it is incredibly tasty and far more affordable than many Chinese restaurants in town. Thank you for the delicious food, and the incredible value over the years.

I am not one to review restaurants but this place is the worst food Ive ever got. I normally get my Chinese food from Lois because it is good and a descent price but it was closed so I ordered golden China, worst idea ever. The shrimp is so fishy you can smell it though the batter. The chicken is rubbery and gross. The egg rolls were burnt. What a waste of time. Dont eat here you might get sick, I dont know how this place is open.

When I walked in the front door I didnt have a great first impression. Incredibly dated decor and menu signs, looks like it hasnt been upgraded in decades. Didnt appear very clean or welcoming. This is not an eat in restaurant. I ordered the general tao chicken which was actually quite good. The lo-mein however, Im pretty sure was spaghetti noodles. Not terrible but certainly not what you expect from Chinese food. Overall it wasnt a terrible meal, but I would not choose to return.

Absolutely garbage. They forgot our order Even existed. Food didnt show up for an hour. I called the location and they said theyd rush our food and it would take another 20 minutes. The food arrived the order was wrong. I tipped the delivery man 50 cents that night and I regret even giving him that much. Calling this place a restaurant is insulting to any other food establishment on this planet.
Hands down the best Chinese food in North Bay! Everyone Ive ever introduced to it agrees. Dont know what some of the other reviewers mean about bad service. Never had a problem in 10 years. Order for pickup is friendly, fast, affordable. Just excellent food!
Horrible !! I order chicken low main last week and then ordered the same thing tonight and there was a ball of hair under my noodles inclduing the fact that it was no were close to the same that I got last time I called to let them know that it wasnt the right stuff man go so rude with me and telling me I dont know what Im talking about... And all I wanted was for him to just send his driver back to see the difference witch is clearly visible..

I heard of the terrible service so I gave em a call and asked about the portions and instead they just told me the price no matter how i phrased it. like you have to know what how big is this meal means, you cant fake that you dont; especially when youve used those words separate from each other. To top it off the menu online has not been updated to their new prices. I opted to not even test it when they cant handle the easy parts of customer service. As a restaurant manager I find this inexcusable.

We love the golden china cantonese chow mein! Weve ordered it for lunch at least once a week for the past year. We highly recommend it :)
